I replaced the factory alternator about 2 years back and have had to replace it twice since then. The replacement alternator were not from the manufacturer but were brand new. The battery warning light comes on when it starts to fail and the hot wire leading to the alternator gets extremely hot. Didn't experience this until I had the aftermarket alternator installed.
their is a common problem with the dash light panels going out making it unsafe ,unable to see speedomiter at night ,the repair is to have the whole gauge cluster replaced that also fails
Read an air bag code that is B1CD2 which I think is park of the air bag wiring harness that was recalled on similar models and year but doesn’t seem to have been on mine. I just want to know if this would be part of that recall?
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle off the highway and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with a timing chain failure and the contact was informed by the dealer that the part was under warranty. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the failure was part of a Customer Satisfaction Program: P01 however, the vehicle was not under recall. The contact was informed that due to the timing chain failure, the engine was also damaged and would not be covered under the Customer Satisfaction Program. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and agreed to repair the vehicle under Consequential Damages. The contact then called the dealer where he was informed that the repair was denied. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the dealer possession. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the timing chain had fractured and caused damage to the engine. The dealer related the failure to Service Campaign: P01 (Engine Timing Chain and Chain Guide) for which the VIN was included. The dealer informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced; however, the manufacturer declined the engine replacement due to him not being the original owner of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and declined the engine replacement. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
Leaking fuel on rear passenger side. Strong fuel smell inside cabin.
My vehicle randomly swerves back and forth when driving. It is very scary and could easily cause an accident and take my life. I’ve taken it to vigo dodge and had 3 different mechanics inspect my car over 5 hours and although they each drove my car and experienced what I’m referring to, they didn’t know what the problem is. I was told to just drive it til it got worse and then maybe they could find the problem. I’m scared to drive my car over 30 mph cause the random swerve could make me lose control or even swerve into oncoming traffic. I desperately need help and don’t know what to do.
I had the dealership fix a recall (N9C07) for the passenger seat wiring harness connector for the passenger side airbag a while back. My airbag warning lamp turned on recently and my mechanic told me it was that same issue that the recall was supposed to fix. I was told by the dealer that since this was replaced once already, they refused to replace it again. This is a major safety concern if the passenger side airbag does not deploy correctly. It is outrageous that their part is malfunctioning at no fault of my own and they refuse to fix it.
My vehicle was inspected for recall 13V-118, however the part was not replaced and is now having intermittent electrical issues, disconnecting the air bag system. I would like to have the vehicle re-inspected under this same recall and the problem corrected.
THE BRAKE PEDAL ON THIS VEHICLE GOES TO THE FLOOR WHEN BRAKING ON GRAVEL ROADS. IT RETURNS FUNCTIONING AFTER PUMPING THE PEDAL. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP IN LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ HAS HAD THE VEHICLE TWICE FOR A WEEK OR TWO AND LAST WEEK TOLD US THAT THESE VEHICLES SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN ON DIRT ROADS BECAUSE THE DUST GETS ON THE ABS SENSOR AND CAN CAUSE THIS PROBLEM. THIS CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN ON THIS SAME ROAD FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAS JUST STARTED DOING THIS IN THE LAST YEAR. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, SO THEY ARE SAYING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I PAID THEM TO CHANGE THE MASTER CYLINDER ON THE FIRST VISIT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THE MASTER CYLINDER IN THE PAST. OF COURSE THIS WAS BEFORE ABS AND CARS BECOMING SO COMPLICATED THAT I CAN NO LONGER WORK ON THEM. CHANGING THE MASTER CYLINDER DID HAVE AN EFFECT ON THE PROBLEM, BUT IT DID NOT CURE IT. I BELIEVE THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND I AM CONCERNED THAT DODGE HAS NOT TAKEN THIS PROBLEM AS SERIOUSLY AS THEY SHOULD. THE FIRST CASE NUMBER THAT DODGE GAVE ME WAS 79023033. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO SEND A TECHNICIAN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HELP, BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THAT HAPPENED. THE SECOND CASE NUMBER IS 79309555. THEY SAID WE COULD TAKE IT TO OTHER DEALERSHIPS FOR A SECOND OPINION AT OUR EXPENSE WHICH OF COURSE WILL BE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE.
DRIVER SIDE WINDOW CYCLES UP AND DOWN WHILE THE CAR IS SHUT OFF AND LOCKED AT NIGHT AND DRAINS THE BATTERY
THE AUXILIARY FUEL PUMP MODULE DEVELOPED A CRACK AND STARTED LEAKING A LARGE AMOUNT OF FUEL. THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK HAD A LARGE PUDDLE OF FUEL AND IT WAS RUNNING DOWN ALL SIDE OF THE FUEL TANK AND ON TO THE GROUND. THIS IS A MAJOR FIRE HAZARD. ALSO THERE ARE ACCESS PANELS UNDER THE BACK SEAT AREA OF THE CAR TO REPLACE THE PUMP MODULES. FUMES FROM THE FUEL ENTERED THE CAR FROM THOSE ACCESS POINTS AND MADE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO BE INSIDE THE CAR. I FIRST NOTICED THE SMELL AFTER FILLING THE THE FUEL TANK AND WHEN I GOT HOME I NOTICED THE FUEL RUNNING OUT ON TO MY DRIVEWAY.
THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW KEEPS MOVING UP AND DOWN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OFF AND THERE IS NO KEY IN THE VEHICLE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO DRAIN THE BATTERY. IT ALSO IT WHILE I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE AS WELL.

I ALMOST ATE A LIGHT POLE TURNING A CORNER SO I FIND THIS A REAL PROBLEM AND DANGER WITH THESE CARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE SMOKE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THE BATTERY POWER WAS DRAINED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER DICK POE DODGE (1363 AIRWAY BOULEVARD EL PASO, TX 79925-2213) WHO DIAGNOSED THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that at the time of purchase he noticed that the driver’s side front window failed to close securely in the window seal. The contact attempted to manually place the window into the seal but was unable to fix the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN CAR LOST POWER AND THEN STOPPED SHUT OFF STEERING WAS THEN HARD AND DIFFICULT TO TURN ON A MAJOR INTERSECTION AND THEN I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE VEHICLE THE STEERING WAS VERY DIFFICULTLY WILL CRANK BUT WILL NOT START BECAUSE THE ALTERNATOR GAVE UP DIED I THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THEY WOULD FIX IT I JUST HAD TO TAKE IT OVER THERE I HAD TO TOW IT OVER THERE THEN AS I GOT IT THERE THEY SAID THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T TURN ON I TOLD HIM IT WAS BECAUSE THE ALTERNATOR WAS NO GOOD AND IT SHUT OFF AND THE STORY BEHIND IT THEY DIDN'T SAY THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME AND THEY'VE HAD IT SINCE THURSDAY TODAY IS NOW SUNDAY THEY SAID THEY CANNOT WORK ON IT UNTIL THEY KNOW FOR SURE THAT IS THE ALTERNATOR I KNOW IT IS I HAD IT CHECKED BEFORE THE ALTERNATOR HAD WENT OUT

MY WINDOWS KEEP GOING UP AND DOWN BY THERE SELF AND KILLING MY BATTERY AND WHEN I WAKE UP CAR IS DEAD
THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW 'SMART SWITCH' IS MALFUNCTIONING AGAIN. IT HAS WAS REPLACED A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO. I WAS TOLD MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL, MISSED IT BY A MONTH. THE FACT IS MY VEHICLE MEETS ALL THE CRITERIA AS THE VEHICLES UNDER THE RECALL. CAN I GET SOME HELP HERE PLEASE?
ISSUES WITH FUEL. HAVING TO CONSTANTLY REPLACE FUEL CAP. CLUTCH GETS STUCK.

A YEAR AFTER I REPLACED THE DRIVER'S SIDE SMART GLASS SWITCH, THE DOOR RELEASE HAS BEEN AMLFUNCTIONING. IT WILL UNLOCK, BUT YOU CAN'T OPEN THE DOOR- ESPECIALLY ON HOT DAYS. THIS IS A SAFTEY RISK- IF I NEED THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE, I CAN'T EVEN GET IT OPEN.
MY CHALLENGER IS MAKING A WIERD TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE. SEE RECALL BELOW CHRYSLER ANNOUNCED THIS MORNING THAT IT WILL BE EXTENDING THE WARRANTY ON 3.6-LITER PENTASTAR V-6 ENGINES IN CERTAIN 2011-2013 VEHICLES DUE TO CRACKED CYLINDER HEADS ON EARLY VERSIONS OF THE ENGINE ACCORDING TO AUTOMOTIVE NEWS, ROUGHLY 7500 ENGINES BUILT AS THE PENTASTAR V-6 WAS FIRST COMING OUT IN 2012, WERE FOUND TO BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO LEFT-CYLINDER HEAD CRACKS, POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN ENGINE FAILURE. CHRYSLER FIRST DISCOVERED THE ISSUE WHEN CUSTOMERS BEGAN COMPLAINING THAT THEIR VEHICLES WERE MAKING TICKING NOISES, STALLING, OR THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS INEXPLICABLY DISPLAYING A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE 3.6-LITER PENTASTAR V-6 COMES WITH A 5-YEAR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY, WHICH CHRYSLER WILL BE EXTENDING TO 10-YEARS/150,000 MILES ON THE LEFT-CYLINDER HEAD. THE CRACKED LEFT-CYLINDER HEAD ISSUE POTENTIALLY AFFECTS ABOUT 0.5-PERCENT OF VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE 3.6-LITER V-6. CHRYSLER DETERMINED THAT SUBPAR FUEL ALONG WITH A NUMBER OF DRIVING CONDITIONS CONTRIBUTED TO THE ISSUE. A DESIGN MODIFICATION IN LATE 2012 HAS REPORTEDLY FIXED THE ISSUE IN NEWER VEHICLES. THE 3.6-LITER V-6, THE FIRST OF THE PENTASTAR FAMILY THAT NOW INCLUDES A 3.2-LITER VERSION, COMES STANDARD IN NUMEROUS CHRYSLER VEHICLES. THE 3.6-LITER PENTASTAR IS STANDARD ON THE: CHRYSLER 300, DODGE CHALLENGER, DODGE CHARGER, JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, JEEP WRANGLER, RAM 1500, AND RAM PROMASTER. IT'S OPTIONAL ON BOTH THE PREVIOUS-GENERATION AND CURRENT CHRYSLER 200, AND DODGE AVENGER.
THERE IS A HEAVY DRAIN ON BATTERY THAT CAUSES BATTERY TO DRAIN WHEN IT SITS FOR A COUPLE DAYS OR MORE
ON APRIL 6, 2019, WHILE I WAS DRIVING, MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED SOLID RED, THEN IT WOULD GO OFF AND ON WITH CHIMING SOUND. BECAUSE MY 2011 CHALLENGER IS NOT IN RECALL, DEALER WILL CHARGE UNWARRANTED COST.
TAKATA RECALL. MY AIRBAG LIGHT RANDOMLY TURNS ON AND OFF. AT TIMES WHILE DRIVING, THE LIGHT FLASHES ON AND OFF AND IT CONTINUOUSLY BEEPS. ITS NERVE WRECKING WHILE I'M DRIVING ON LOCAL ROADS AND EVEN MORE WHEN FRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY; HAS ME VERY CONCERNED. IT STARTED MARCH 23RD AND SINCE THEN, ITS BEEN DOING IT RANDOMLY.
NOTICED FLUID LEAKING IN FRONT OF REAR PASSENGER TIRE.UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I FOUND IT TO BE GASOLINE. THEN I LOOKED UNDER THE REAR SEAT AND FOUND A PUDDLE OF GASOLINE ACCUMULATED IN THE FUEL PUMP AREA ON THE RIGHT SIDE. THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED SO THE PUDDLE ON THE GROUND AND UNDER THE SEAT WERE VERY NOTICEABLE. THIS IS NOT SAFE AT ALL!!!
PASSENGER SIDE AUXILIARY FUEL MODULE LEAKING GASOLINE UNDER REAR SEAT. OLD SEAL REPLACED, BUT UNIT STILL LEAKS GASOLINE WHEN THE TANK IS MORE THAN 3/4 FULL. STARTED LEAKING OVER A YEAR AGO, WITH LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON THE CAR. I NOTICED IT AFTER FILLING THE CAR'S GAS TANK AT A LOCAL GAS STATION.
THE. CAR CONTINUES TO DIE WITHOUT REASON. WOKE UP ONE MORNING CAR WOULD NOT START. JUMPED CAR AND IT RAN WITH NO PROBLEM. SHUT CAR OFF AND WOULD NOT START. REPLACED BATTERY STILL WILL ONLY START WHEN JUMPED. ONCE STARTED CAR RUNS FINE.
I JUST WROTE IN ABOUT THE CLICKING SOUND FROM DASH ONCE IT REACH ABOUT 56,000 MILES. SORRY, BUT I FORGOT TO MENTION. I HAD THE SLIGHTEST CLUE WHAT THE SOUND WAS, OR WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM, SO OF COURSE I GOT ON YOUTUBE TO FIND A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM JUST TO MAKE SURE IT WAS NOT JUST ME, AND I WAS VERY GREATLY APPALLED TO THE NUMBER OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THAT ARE OWNERS OF CHALLENGERS THAT HAD OR HAS THE SAME ISSUE AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE WHAT CAUSES THIS PROBLEM. IT HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING AND IT'S HIGHLY UNSAFE. THE CLICKING SOUND EVEN OCCURS WHILE DRIVING. I DIDN'T KNOW RATHER THE CAR WAS ABOUT TO EXPLODE OR WHAT, BECAUSE THE CLICKING SOUND IS SO INTENSE. I POP MY TRUNK AND THERE'S CLICKING. I UNLOCK MY DOORS AND THERE'S CLICKING. ON SEPT. 21, 2018 WHEN THE SOUND BEGAN, OUT THE BLUE THERE WAS A CLICKING SOUND SO LOUD, I THOUGHT THE KEY WAS GOING TO FALL OUT THE IGNITION WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT, AND THIS HAS NOT ONLY HAPPENED TO ME, BUT THOUSANDS OTHER. THIS IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING. PLEASE FIND AN ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE AND THANK YOU.
I'M A OWNER OF A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. I'VE NOTICED NOT ONLY ON MY CAR, BUT EVERY DODGE CHALLENGER REACHED A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MILES, MINES HAS 57,000 MILES AND THERE'S CLICKING SOUND FROM THE DASH WHICH A/C AND HEAT TO STOP WORK. THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON FOR THE DODGE CHALLENGER, AND SHOULD HAVE A RECALL ON IT, BECAUSE ITS A CONSTANT PROBLEM WITH THE CHALLENGER, AND THE PROBLEM TENDS TO OCCUR AFTER A CERTAIN MILEAGE. THIS IS SOMETHING I DEEPLY FEEL THAT NEEDS A RECALL. PLEASE AND THANK YOU
COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. 5.7 HEMI ENGINE SNAPPED #7 PUSH ROD WHILE DRIVING ON I-10 AT NORMAL SPEEDS. ALL MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED REGULARLY WITH NO INDICATION OF THIS CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. THE ENGINE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 8500 DOLLARS.
'TAKATA RECALL' I WAS GETTING IN MY CAR TO HEAD TO WORK AT APPROXIMATELY 10:40PM WHEN I TRIED STARTING THE CAR BUT IT STALLED AND ALL ELECTRICAL POWER SHUT DOWN. I TRIED AGAIN AND IT DID THE SAME. AFTER RESEARCHING, I FOUND OUT THAT MY CAR HAS A RECALL (P60) FOR THE ALTERNATORDIODE THERMAL FATIGUE. I HAD BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE STALLING FOR A WEEK BEFORE THIS HAPPENED BUT IT SEEM TO CRANK AFTER A WHILE BUT NOW IT'S NOT STARTING AT ALL. IT HAPPEN ONCE ONLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING. PLEASE HELP!
2011 CHALLENGER WITH LESS THAN 3000 MILES. STORED IN GARAGE (ATTACHED TO HOUSE), NEVER OUT IN WINTER OR IN RAIN. WENT TO START THE VEHICLE TO TAKE IN FOR A RECALL WHEN THE ELECTRONICS STARTED TO FLASH AND CLICK RANDOMLY. UNABLE TO CLEAR OR STOP THE MALFUNCTION. TRUNK WOULD NOT RELEASE ELECTRICALLY, HAD TO CRAWL THROUGH THE BACK SEAT TO GET TO THE MANUAL RELEASE. DISCONNECTED AND REPLACED ORIGINAL BATTERY (IN TRUNK). UPON CONNECTING NEGATIVE TERMINAL, LARGE DRAW ON BATTERY, TERMINAL BECAME HOT IMMEDIATELY. DISCONNECTED TERMINAL WITHIN 10 SECONDS. SMOKE APPEARED FROM UNDER HOOD. OPENED HOOD AND FOUND SMALL FIRE NEAR ALTERNATOR. FIRE EXTINGUISHED WITH ABOUT 1 LITER OF WATER. FOUND BURNED OUT WIRING HARNESS NEAR ALTERNATOR. FLAT BED TOWED INTO DEALER FOR INVESTIGATION AND SERVICE (PENDING).
WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE WINDOWS OPEN, THE DRIVERS WINDOW SUDDENLY WENT UP ALMOST CATCHING MY SONS ARM IN THE WINDOW. THE WINDOW CONTINUED TO GO UP AND DOWN ALL ON ITS OWN. EVENTUALLY IT STOPPED AND DID NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. HOWEVER IT APPEARS THAT DURING THE NIGHT THE WINDOW STARTED MOVING ON ITS OWN AND EVENTUALLY KILLED THE BATTERY. IN RESEARCHING I FOUND THAT THE 2011 CHALLENGERS HAD A SMART GLASS PROBLEM, EXACTLY LIKE THIS, BUT IT WAS ONLY ON BUILDS BEFORE MARCH 2011 AND THIS CAR WAS JULY 2011. I FEAR THAT DURING THE NIGHT IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE PARKED IN GARAGE IT COULD POSSIBLE OVERHEAT MOTOR AND CAUSE FIRE. OR TRAP MY SONS ARM IN WINDOW WHILE DRIVING.
AIR BAGS GO ON AND OFF RANDOMLY AS DESCRIBED IN NHTSA #13V118000. CHRYSLER SAYS MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL AND REFUSE TO EVEN LOOK AT IT. EVERY TIME I HIT A BUMP MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON OR GOES OFF. MOST OF THE TIME MY AIRBAGS DO NOT WORK.
THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT EXTEND. IT IS STUCK WITHOUT ANY SLACK. I AM NOT ABLE TO PUT ON THE SEAT BELT TO DRIVE. BIG SAFTEY HAZARD. NOTHING HAPPENED THAT CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN. THE SEAT BELT WORKED FINE THE PREVIOUS DAY. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE AS I TRIED TO PUT ON THE SEAT BELT BUT IT WOULDNT MOVE. ITS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE AN ACCIDENT CAN HAPPEN AT ANYTIME AND THERE IS NOTHING PREVENTING THE DRIVER FROM HITTING THEIR HEAD INTO THE STEERING WHEEL OR FLYING THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. MY CAR IS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD. I FEEL THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD FIX THIS ISSUE AT NO COST TO THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GLENDALE DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP (900 S BRAND BLVD, GLENDALE, CA 91204, (818) 839-2457) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS DRAINING THE BATTERY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
THE SMART GLASS SWITCH FOR THE POWER WINDOWS DRAINS THE BATTERY WHILE THE CAR IS POWERED OFF. CHRYSLER HAS A 'MINOR' RECALL ON IT FOR MY MAKE AND MODEL OF MY CAR, BUT THEY DECIDED MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED EVEN THOUGH ALL OF THE SYMPTOMS OF THE RECALL ARE PRESENT AND MY VEHICLE MATCHES THE YEAR MAKE AND MODEL OF THE RECALL
TAKATA INFLATORS NO REMEDY/REPLACEMENT FOR DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. HAVE CALLED DEALER 3 TIMES SINCE RECEIVING RECALL NOTICE AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT CHRYSLER/DODGE DOES NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FLAMES APPEARED FROM THE ALTERNATOR. THE CONTACT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND DROVE TO DON DAVIS DODGE JEEP (1901 N COLLINS ST, ARLINGTON, TX 76011 (877) 376-9083). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
GAS TANK LEAKING AT SEAM WHERE THE TWO HALVES OF THE GAS TANK ARE PUT TOGETHER. THE GAS TANK IS MADE OUT OF PLASTIC WHICH IS BY THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WHICH IS VERY HOT AND COULD CAUSE FIRE OR EXPLOSION . MAN AT DEALERSHIP PARTS DEPARTMENT SAID THIS WAS COMMON ,BUT NOT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED TO DO A RECALL. CAR CAN BE STATIONARY OR IN MOTION AND YOU CAN SMELL GAS INSIDE THE CAR. WHEN CAR IS PARKED YOU CAN ALSO SMELL GAS IN THE TRUNK AND OUTSIDE THE CAR.
DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET AT NIGHT ALTERNATOR STOPS WORKING. EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL SHUTS OFF - ABLE TO ROLL MOSTLY INTO A TURNING LANE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET BEFORE IT STOPPED. EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL TURNS OFF - NO LIGHTS -OTHER DRIVERS CANNOT SEE THE CAR. LEFT IN A VERY VULNERABLE UNSAFE POSITION - I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL TO PUSH OUT OF ROAD. LEFT IN A VERY UNSAFE POSITION. CALLED TOW TRUCK WHO WAS ABLE TO GET THERE BEFORE ANYTHING BAD HAPPENED. LEARNED OF THE RECALL OVER THE INTERNET - I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF A RECALL. IF I HAD KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL, I WOULD HAVE REPAIRED THE CAR - I NEVER WOULD HAVE DRIVER THIS CAR IF I HAD KNOWN. DODGE DOES NOT HAVE A "FIX" IN PLACE SO I MUST REPAIR THE CAR ON MY OWN AND WAIT UNTIL THEY GET IT FIGURED OUT OVER AT DODGE.
CAR STALLS RIGHT AFTER INITIAL STARTING ATTEMPT 50% OF TIME. MUST CYCLE THE STARTING BUTTON THREE TIMES TO GET THE CAR TO START. OCCURS RANDOMLY HOT OR COLD. NO ENGINE CODES OCCUR. DEALER HAS NO IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT SUGGESTS THAT IT MIGHT BE THE KEY FOBS OR SOMETHING CALLED A "WIN" MODULE. THE PROBLEM BEGAN RIGHT AFTER AN ALTERNATOR FAILURE. I AM NOT WILLING TO INVEST MONEY IN REPAIRING THIS ISSUE UNLESS THERE IS A CLEAR MANUFACTURER STRATEGY TO FIXING THE PROBLEM.
ON OCCASION THE TRUNK WILL SUDDENLY FALL DOWN WHEN IT SHOULD REMAIN UP. THE TRUNK HAS FALLEN ON MY HEAD AND INJURED ME MORE THAN ONCE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THE VEHICLE IS A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8 WITH ABOUT 80K MILES. VEHICLE IS PARKED AND TURNED OFF WHEN THE ISSUE OCCURS. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.
