Subject VIN sits in database as completed for Takata Airbag replacement completion during previous Passenger Air Bag NHTSA Recall; however, recent "Do Not Drive" warnings that include this year model now state that Driver Side Airbag has also been determined to now need replacement. Having been on the telephone for numerous telephone calls over this past week with Dodge's Takata Airbag Team, Dodger Service Departments, and NHTSA to inquire about what next actions I should take with the well-advertised "Do Not Drive" warning through a variety of media channels to include my 2014 Dodge Challenger have been frustrating at best. The ineptitude and inaction to move on this recall, reclassify vehicles as having an outstanding recall if both Passenger Airbags Assemblies (Driver- and Passenger- sides) have not been replaced. A requirement for the manufacturer (in this case, Dodge) to streamline complimentary towing of the unsafe vehicle to a dealership with a service department (while also ensuring respective Airbag assemblies are in repair parts inventory with technicians trained to conduct replacement maintenance correctly), and afford a complimentary temporary vehicle to use during day-to-day living until the reparations are executed to render the vehicle safe again and that vehicle is returned to the owner. The ineptitude to date by manufacturer (Dodge) and NHTSA to this juncture is unfathomable. All parties need recalibration and competency should be paramount in this safety crisis of the Takata Airbag debacle. Wake up . . . . immediately, if not sooner and get it all in one sock folks! The vehicle was taken to Southpoint Dodge in Austin, Texas under recall in March 2019 and had the Passenger Side Airbag replaced under the recall at that time; however, the Driver Side Airbag was not of concern when that recall was executed and the Driver Side Airbag is still stock from the manufacturing assembly line when the vehicle first became available for sale in late 2013.
On August 7, 2025, at approximately 11:30 PM, my 2014 Dodge Challenger caught fire in the trunk area where the battery is located. I had just parked at my location and was about to get out of the car when I noticed a strong burning smell and smoke coming from the rear. Flames were visible inside the trunk. The fire damaged the trunk interior, wiring, and surrounding components, but the battery still functioned afterward. There were no warning lights or prior issues before the incident. This poses a serious safety hazard and could have caused injury or further damage if it had occurred while driving.
Was driving out of the parking lot when I started to drive I felt the car shifted then the engine light came on.Took it to auto zone the next day and they said it’s an incorrect gear rotation on their scanner. The car feels fine when I drive and it’s not shaking at all.
There is a fuel leak in the vehicle.
The ABS system has failed on my 2014 Dodge Challenger SXT and has caused major electrical issues within the vehicle. The ABS part/computer module (part number 68210118AB) has been on back order for months with no estimate of when the part will be available from a Dodge/Chrysler/Ram/Jeep dealership. I have been without my vehicle for 4 months because nobody has this part available. This is a major issue affecting many vehicles under Dodge/Chrysler/Ram/Jeep. My safety was at risk because while I was driving the vehicle, every single light on my dashboard appeared and my brakes stopped working. Thankfully I was leaving my neighborhood and was only going 15MPH. The key fob is not detectable, the windows will not roll up, and the vehicle cannot hold a charge while in drive. There was an ABS warning lamp on prior to this all happening.
The Evaporative Canister was recalled for Dodge Challenger 2014 in 2021. The car was taken to the Chrysler Dodge Dealership and they confirmed the repair. November 2023 the engine light came on. Another mechanic completed a smoke test and determined the evaporative canister to be faulty. Both Chrysler Dodge Dealership and Chrysler Corporate office refused to remedy the issue, despite this being a recall. A faulty evaporative canister is a safety issue due to emitting additional pollution and adding to the green house effect.

I bought this vehicle after only having 28,000 miles on it required the water pump to be replaced. That should not be the case. The vehicle started running hot again after having the original water pump replaced about a year ago. At this point I had only put an additional 12,000 miles on the vehicle. Now the company that put the water pump on is saying I need a new engine on a vehicle that only has 40,000 miles on it. This should not be the case and I'd like the NHTSA look into this as a faulty engine from the manufacturer.
On 2/25/23 we started noticing the smell of gasoline around the 2014 dodge challenger, so we stated looking around the gas cap and down around the gas tank and noticed a small few drops of gasoline on the ground near the gas tank. But Didn't notice exactly where the leak was coming from the tank or around the tank. So keep an eye out over the next week then we started noticing a bigger drip mark. We are not driving the vehicle due to leak from gas tank for fear of explosion and fire. We sent the car to our mechanics to check it out . He said the tank was leaking due to being warped, this was not the first time he had seen this problem in the 2014 dodge challengers. He said we will need to replace the tank. We are very concerned with this problem, we enjoy our dodge and are considering buy a new one when the time comes, but will have to reconsider with this type of problem looming. So we parked the car outside and away from the house for fear of fire danger.
I was entering onto the highway and accelerating up to speed. When the car suddenly jerked multiple times, the vehicle did not accelerate, but the RPMs redlined. I then lost power while entering the highway. The vehicle would not restart, so I pulled onto the shoulder of the interstate. Almost being hit multiple times by other motor vehicles. I attempted to restart the car without any success. The vehicle was towed home to my residency, until I could have it towed to a mechanics shop for further diagnoise. The vehicle has not restarted in over 3 weeks now.
A car pulled out in .frount of me doing 45 he was making a right turn light turned yellow would of made the crossing but had to swerve to miss the car and hit a pole causing frount end damage,estimate repaired 6000.00to 7500.00 in damages air bags did not deploy police,officer. Made a report and said that they should of deployed in the report I just bought the car from dodge of Oxnard. And found out they do all of the inspections on the car and not one recall was done think the car was from ‘rental company.80,000 miles still on warranty pd cash 26000.00 looking for help about the air bags not deploying fixing car.but was told to wait .have car inspection first
Oil housing adapter has failed and needs replacing. I went to two different shops (independent and dealership) that stated the part is made of plastic and has a tendency to fail. Yes my safety is at risk due to the fact the car can run hot at any given time. Yes the car has been inspected and no there hasn't been any warning lights. When I took the car in for another problem, the tech noticed that the part was cracked and needs replacing. I am not sure why Chrysler would make a plastic part this close to an engine and now it is causing problems for customers. The part is currently on backorder because so many have failed.
Fluctuating Speedometer dropping from driving speed to zero once the engine warms up. Especially bad at highway speed. When speedometer drops suddenly the brake light, ABS light and driver seat belt warning light flash on then off. Also hear a clicking noise from the gear shift when the speedometer fluctuates. Issue has been continual since beginning in January.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated while the vehicle was stationary in the carport, he became aware that the front driver’s side window was opening and closing independently. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that he had to jumpstart the battery to start the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the window regulator motor, the door module, the front driver door handle sensor, and the battery to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,971.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH, she smelled a burning oil odor. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the oil filter housing adapter was leaking and needed to be replaced. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 102,000.
DRIVING CAR AND THE GAS PEDAL QUIT WORKING AND COASTED IN GAS STATION PARKING LOT. WAITED FOR A FAMILY MEMBER, AFTER 15 MINUTES I DROVE A 1/2 MILE TO WORK. UPON PARKING, I REVERSED TO ALIGN BETTER, AND THE THROTTLE WENT OUT AGAIN ALONG WITH HORN GOING OFF AND THE WINDOWS GOING UP AND DOWN. IN THIS TIME ALL LIGHTS WERE FLASHING ON DASH. IT WAS TAKEN TO MECHANIC, WHO WORKED FOR DODGE FOR 14 YEARS AND HE SAID THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MANY CHYSLER, DODGE, AND JEEP VEHICLES. HE IS REPLACING THE LIPM TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THIS HAS BEEN RECALLED IN MANY OTHER MOPAR VEHICLES AND IS UNACCEPTABLE AS THIS IS MY TEENAGE'S CAR. I POS TO THE CEO OF DODGE TO PUT HIS CHILD BEHIND THE WHEEL OF THIS CAR. WHAT IF THIS TIPM BURNS/MELTS THE BOARD AGAIN? NO WARNING, MY CHILD WAS ON WAY TO WORK ON A BUSY ROAD, SPEED LIMIT 55MPH AND IT A GAS STATION WAS NOT TO HER RIGHT, WHO KNOWS WHAT THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN THE CAR WOULD NOT GO AND THERE WAS NO SHOULDER EITHER. YOU CAN DO THE SPECULATION. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED INVOICE YET BUT THE PRICE FOR TOW AND FIX IS $751.00.

THE DRIVER STATED THAT THE BRAKES FAILED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT GEARS TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER HUSBAND WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO SOME TREES. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER HUSBAND SUSTAINED BRUISES AND SCRATCHES TO HIS LEFT ARM AND ALSO SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HIS BACK AND NECK. THE DRIVER WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED SINCE THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON A PRIVATE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED, NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER A DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
MY 2014 DODGE CHALLENGER OVER HEATED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I PULLED OVER AND FILLED THE RESERVOIR WITH ANTIFREEZE. I DROVE LESS THAN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD AND IT OVER HEATED AGAIN.WHEN I CHECKED THE RESERVOIR IT WAS EMPTY. SO I PULLED OVER AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE IT TO THE MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT I NEED TO HAVE THE OIL FILTER/ OIL COOLER ADAPTER HOUSING, INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET REPLACED. THIS WILL COST ME $788. THE PART I NEED IS ON BACK ORDER FROM THE MANUFACTURER. IN FACT THERE ARE OVER 34,000 OF THIS PARTICULAR PART ON BACK ORDER BECAUSE THIS IS SUCH A COMMON ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER, JEEP, AND DODGE CARS. HE WAS SHOCKED THAT THIS PART HAD NOT BEEN RECALLED YET. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN THIS PART IS RECALLED. IF I PAY OUT OF POCKET TO FIX THIS VERY COMMON ENGINE ISSUE, WILL I GET REIMBURSED ONCE IT IS RECALLED?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS GIRLFRIEND NOTICED A LIGHT COMING FROM THE REAR, AND WHEN SHE HAD EXIT THE VEHICLE, SHE NOTICED SMOKE AND FLAME COMING FROM THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND LATER TOWED TO AN INSURANCE TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY UNKNOWN.
MY CAR IS MAKING A TICKING NOISE. I HAVE CHANGED THE OIL WITH A BETTER BRAND AND THE TECHNICIAN EXPLAINED IT COULD BE THE ARM ROCKER THAT GOES BAD WITH THAT SPECIFIC ENGINE
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RESOLVE RECALL UB4 FOR THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS CANISTER SINCE 6/4/2020. SINCE THAT TIME I'VE BEEN "PUT ON AN WAITING LIST" FOR THE PART NEEDED TO RESOLVE THE RECALL. INITIALLY I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE 3 OR 4 MONTHS WAIT FOR MY PLACE IN ON THE LIST. I BEGAN FOLLOWING UP WITH THE DEALERSHIP ON 9/22/2020 AT WHICH TIME I WAS TOLD TO CALL BACK IN 2 WEEKS AND THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO ORDER THE PART AND SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. ON 10/2/2020 I CALLED AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. ON 10/3/2020 I CALLED THE NUMBER ON THE REMINDER CARD THAT I RECEIVED ON 102/2020 AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE IN SHORT SUPPLY AND "IT'S A MESS". I AGREE, I DON'T THINK CHRYSLER IS TAKING THIS RECALL SERIOUSLY BECAUSE IT SHOULDN'T TAKE 4 MONTHS, AND COUNTING, TO RESOLVE AN ISSUE. CAR SHUTS OFF AT APPORXIMATELY 45MPH. ALMOST WRECK AND THEN FLICKERS BACK TO NORMAL OPERATING AND DRIVE HOME(5)MINUTES AND PARK. WILL NOT START BACK UP. TOWED THE CAR TO A DODGE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR RECALL AND TELLS ME TO PICK IT UP. I GO PICK IT UP AND NOW IT WILL NOT CHANGE GEARS, OVER HEATS IN DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT AND FANS WILL NOT OPERATE. DEALER KEEPS CAR AND SAYS IT'S A BAD WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT. AT THIS POINT I DO NOT TRUST DEALER AND REPLACE THE WATER PUMP, THERMOSTAT, IDLER PULLEY, TEMP SENSOR, BELT TENSIONER MYSELF. START CAR AND SOUNDS GREAT BUT OVERHEATS AGAIN. NOW WILL NOT START AT ALL. I SEE MANY MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND DODGE DOES NOTHIGN BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. NOTE TO SELF....GOVERMENT STILL NOT PROTECTING THE LITTLE GUY. ISSUE STARTED WITH POWER STEERING GOING OUT FOR A FEW SECONDS IN 2014 DODGE CHALLENGER ONLY 38,000 MILES (HAPPENED TWICE) THEN BEFORE IT COULD GET SERVICED POWER STEERING WENT OUT WITH SERVICE LIGHT ON (POWER STEERING RESUMED IN ABOUT 5 MINUTES WHILE I WAS TRYING TO GET TO A SAFE PLACE, SERVICE LIGHT WENT OUT ALSO). I WAS IN A DRIVE THRU LANE, AS I LEFT IT AND APPROACHED ROAD TO TURN RIGHT ON A 45 MPH RD IS WHEN THE STEERING WENT OUT FOR THE 5 MINUTES. REALLY DANGEROUS, SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR FREE REPAIR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED YET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. AS OF MARCH 2020 MY CAR HAS JUST GONE DOWN HILL. IT STARTED WITH THE ENGINE NOT HEATING AND COOLING PROPERLY, I SPENT OVER $1300 GETTING IT FIXED A FEW MONTHS LATER MY DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF AFTER 10 MINUTES THE FACTORY AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF WILL HAPPEN AND THE LIGHTS WILL GO OFF, BECAUSE OF THAT I HAD TO HAVE MY BATTERY REPLACED. NOW MY AC JUST STOPPED WORKING IT NO LONGER BLOWS COLD AIR. I'VE HAD A DIAGNOSTIC DONE ON THE CAR AND THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, SPOKE TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE SAME CAR AND THEY ALL SAY THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO THEM AND NO ONE KNOWS WHATS THE PROBLEM IS.

THE DEALER EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THE FIRE WAS DUE TO THE ALTERNATOR. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE IF THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT A CASE NUMBER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING WHILE AT AN INTERSECTION RED LIGHT 7-3-20. MANAGING TO GET IT TO A MECHANIC SHOP I WAS TOLD MY TRANSMISSION IS NO GOOD. MY POWERTRAIN WARRANTY EXPIRED IN 1-2020. MY CAR WAS INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSIS TEST WERE PERFORMED ON IT AND NEVER DETECTED ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION DURING 2019 OVER THREE DIFFERENT TIMES BECAUSE OF MY CONCERNS ABOUT HOW MY CAR WAS DRIVING. UNDER THE DEALERSHIP POSSESSION THEY FAILED TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEMS THAT EXISTED WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION NEVER MAKING THE APPROPRIATE REPAIRS OR REPLACING PARTS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I KNEW MY CAR WAS NOT DRIVING PROPERLY THAT'S WHY I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND EVERY TIME THEY FAILED TO DETECT THE PROBLEMS WITH MY TRANSMISSION ALLEGING THAT THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS AND CLAIMS TO HAVE FIX PROBLEMS THEY DID SEE BUT NEVER ADDRESSING THE TRUE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION KEEPING ME UNINFORMED ABOUT THE CONDITIONS OF MY VEHICLE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY BY MISLEADING INFORMATION THAT'S INACCURATE. CHRYSLER REFUSED TO ASSIST ME WITH REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN UNDER WARRANTY WITH CONCERNS HOW THE CAR DRIVES. CHRYSLER CLAIMS HOW WERE THEY SUPPOSED TO KNOW ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION IF I DIDN'T TELL THEM BUT I'M NOT A MECHANIC AND I TOLD THEM IT WAS DRIVING AND SHIFTING PROPERLY WHAT ELSE AM I'M SUPPOSED TO DO BESIDES BRING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE INSPECTED. I HAVE RECORDS OF MY MAINTENANCE HISTORY FOR ALL OF 2019 SHOWING EACH TIME I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION AND THEY FAILED TO MAKE THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRS. THESE SAME RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR CHRYSLER TO REVIEW AND THEY STILL DECIDED TO NOT ASSIST ME WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION THAT THEY FAILED TO REPLACE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY INTENTIONALLY IGNORED THE PROBLEMS AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT REPLACEMENT WAS NEEDED.*DT*JB

THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIDWAY DODGE (4747 S. PULASKI RD, CHICAGO, IL 60632) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PICKED UP AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND FOR A TECHNICIAN TO DO A DRIVE ALONG TO SEE IF THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,300.
WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES WE NOTICED A STRONG GASOLINE ODOR INSIDE AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. SUSPECTING THAT THE FUEL ODOR WAS RELATED TO THE UB4 RECALL FOR THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS CANISTER WE TOOK TO VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER SHIP. THE PROBLEM WAS FOUND TO BE A CRACKED PLASTIC FITTING THAT CONNECTS THE FUEL FILL TUBE WITH THE FUEL TANK. THE REMEDY BEING REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK AT A COST OF OVER $2600. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN ABUSED OR IN AN ACCIDENT SO, IT IS MY OPINION THAT THE FUEL TANK AND FILL TUBE ARE A POOR DESIGN AND COULD FAIL CAUSING EXTREME HARM. THE DEALERSHIP DID TAKE PHOTOS OF THE CRACKED PART BUT I DO NOT HAVE COPIES OF THEM. THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED AT CHAPMAN CHRYSLER JEEP, LOCATED AT 930 AUTO SHOW DRIVE, HENDERSON NV 89014. WHEN IN PARK FOR A FEW MINUTES, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL DIM, THEN THE ENGINE SOUNDS A LITTLE ROUGH FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS. WITHIN A FEW OF MINUTES OF THAT HAPPENING, THE ENGINE WILL TURN OFF BY ITSELF. IT'S HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I CHANGED THE AIR FILTER AND USED FUEL INJECTION CLEANER. HOWEVER, IT DID IT AGAIN ABOUT A WEEK OR TWO LATER. I'M WONDERING IF THE ALTERNATOR IS GOING BAD. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS 3/5/2020
THE PASSENGER SEAT IN THIS CAR STARTED SHEDDING BEARING COMPONENTS WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. DEALER WAS INFORMED, BUT EXPLAINED THAT THE SEAT WAS FUNCTIONING AND ADJUSTABLE AND SO NO REPAIR WAS DONE. LATER, JUST AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED, THE SEAT FAILED TO LATCH PROPERLY AND IS LOOSE BECAUSE THE BEARINGS ON SEAT TRACK HAVE FAILED TO STAY IN PLACE. THE SEAT IS NO LONGER SAFE TO SIT IN AND DOES NOT ADJUST OR LATCH PROPERLY. THE SEAT TRACK IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND THE PART IS NOT IN STOCK FROM LOCAL DEALER AND IS BACK ORDERED. THEY ARE NOT CERTAIN WHEN THEY CAN FIND A REPLACEMENT. THE PASSENGER SEAT IS NOT SAFE FOR AN OCCUPANT UNLESS REPAIRS ARE MADE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE AS IT IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. THE DEALER WILL NOT REPAIR IT BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.

FAULTY LIFTERS HAVE DAMAGED THE CAMSHAFT, CAUSING MISFIRING AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF REPAIR COSTS FOR A CAR WITH ONLY 76,000 MILES. LIFTERS ARE ON BACK ORDER FOR 6-8 MONTHS.

THE POWER STEERING FLUID EVAPORATES IN THE RESERVOIR (THE DODGE DEALER TOLD ME THIS AFTER I HAD THE FLUID CHECKED AND FILLED IN 2018 BECAUSE OF STEERING PROBLEM) AND CAUSES THE STEERING TO BECOME VERY RIGID WITH QUICK TURNING. I HAD TO MAKE A SUDDEN QUICK RIGHT TURN TO AVOID A CAR IN FRONT OF ME (LOCAL STREET) AND THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN AS I NEEDED. THE STEERING GROANED. THE STEERING FELT VERY DANGEROUS AND THIS WAS TOTALLY UNEXPECTED. I AM HAVING IT SERVICED THIS WEEK AGAIN TO CHECK THE STEERING FLUID.*DT THE CONSUMER HAD A SECOND OPINON WHO ADVISED THE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS LEAKING. *JS
HAVE A 2014 CHALLENGER 60,900 MILES AND THE OIL FILTER HOUSING ASSEMBLY STARTED LEAKING OIL. HAD TO BE REPLACED. ALSO THE TRANSMISSION IS NOW STARTING TO NOT SHIFT PROPERLY.
THE WINDOW HAS SMART GLASS. THERE IS A SENSOR IN THE DOOR WHICH ALLOWS THE WINDOW TO AUTOMATICALLY SLIDE UP OR DOWN ABOUT 1\4 OF AN INCH SO THE DOOR CLOSES COMPLETELY. ABOUT 4 DAYS AGO THE WINDOW BEGAN SLIDING UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS ACTING UP DUE TO AN OLD BATTERY SO I BOUGHT A NEW ONE BUT THE WINDOW STILL SLIDES UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN CONSTANTLY BUT ONLY WHEN THE CAR IS OFF. I HAVE TO LEAVE THE WINDOW ROLLED DOWN A FEW INCHES TO MAKE IT STOP. I HAVE READ REVIEWS WHERE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH SOME OLDER MODELS AND EVEN AFTER REPLACING THEIR WINDOW SENSOR THE SAME PROBLEM STILL CONTINUED.

2014 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT WITH 17505 MILES ON IT FROM NEW. WITHOUT WARNING, FUEL PUMP CUT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH; MOTOR DIED AND THE CAR SHUT DOWN (INCLUDING POWER STEERING). LUCKILY, WAS ABLE TO COAST TO STOP ON HIGHWAY SHOULDER WITHOUT CRASH. HAD IT NOT BEEN A WEEKEND WITH LIGHT TRAFFIC, COULD HAVE BEEN VERY BAD. FUEL PUMP DIAGNOSIS PROVIDED BY DEALER TWO-DAYS LATER AFTER CAR WAS TOWED TO SHOP.
ONE DAY I TRY TO TURN ON MY CAR, AND IT WAS NOT TURNING TYLER WAS A MESSAGE TO CHECK THE STEERING WHEEL FLUID, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SO HARD TO MANEUVER, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE STEERING WHEEL PUMP, WHICH WAS REALLY ODD OF THEM BECAUSE MY CAR IS A LOW MILEAGE CAR STILL. I HAVE SEEN THERE IS A SIMILAR RECALL FOR CARS THE SAME YEAR AND MAKING MODEL AS MINE.
MY CAR SHUT DOWN AFTER EVERY LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD APPEARED. WOULD CRANK AND THERE WAS NO WARNINGS AHEAD OF TIME TO LET ME KNOW THERE MAY HVE BEEN ANY ISSUES. WHEN MY CAR SHUT DOWN I WAS IN DRIVE ON MY BRAKES AT A LIGHT. HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING PUMP $1800.00 LATER.
THE FOLLOWING OCCURRED DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS OVER A PERIOD OF TWO WEEKS WITH WARNING LIGHTS ON: VEHICLE DISPLAYED ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS SIMULTANEOUSLY. THEN SUDDENLY THE CAR, AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. LOCAL DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT STATED THE COMPUTER SENSED BRAKE MALFUNCTION AND CAUSED A "LIMP MODE" CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION NOT TO SHIFT. THIS IS SO THE CAR WOULD NOT REACH NORMAL SPEEDS BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE MALFUNCTIONING. DEALER SHOP REPORTS SPEED SENSORS ON BRAKES FAILED DUE TO EXCESSIVE HEAT. THIS IS ODD BECAUSE INVOICE REPORTS THE REAR SENSORS FAILED WHEN NORMALLY THE MAJORITY OF BRAKING, PRODUCING HEAT, IS FROM THE FRONT BRAKES. RESULTING REPAIRS INCLUDED REPLACING BOTH FRONT ROTORS AND LEFT FRONT CALIPER AND BOTH REAR SPEED SENSORS, AND FLUSHING FLUID ALL DUE TO EXCESSIVE HEAT. THIS IS A CONTRADICTION THAT THEY REPORT THE REAR SPEED SENSORS FAILED. PERHAPS A CLERICAL ERROR. ALL IS DOCUMENTED ON ED VOLYES CHRYSLER DODGE DEALERSHIP SERVICE INVOICE # 883127, IN MARIETTA, GA. SEARCHING THE INTERNET SHOWS NUMEROUS BRAKE FAILURE STORIES DUE TO SPEED SENSORS IN THIS MAKE AND MODEL CAR. SOME ARE EASILY "NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES". I CAN ONLY HOPE THEY FILED NHTSA REPORTS AS WELL. FINAL SYSTEMS FAILURE OCCURRED ON MAY 27TH. WE'VE HAD LENGTHY EXPERIENCE WITH MUCH OLDER ANTILOCK CARS OF OTHER MAKES WITH NO HINT OF FAILURE LIKE THIS ! I FAIL TO SEE WHY A CRITICAL FAILURE SUCH AS THIS WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE ON ANY SAFETY STANDARDS.
