The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated while idling at the traffic light, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the failure also occurred while driving at various speeds. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart on several occasions and was towed to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where DTC: U0100 and P0700 were retrieved. The dealer flashed the computer; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, were the same DTC were retrieved and the failure was related to a loss of communication with the PCM and the Transmission Control Module. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,415.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle started shaking, then lurch and the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the vehicle lost power steering and braking functionality. The contact was able to coast the vehicle off the side of the road. The contact stated that the check engine, ABS, and the throttle control warning lights were illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel tank and fuel system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was again exhibiting the same failure. Additionally, the failure was more frequent and that there were days when the contact could not keep the vehicle from stalling after starting the vehicle. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.
2006 DODGE CHARGER DAYTONA R/T RANDOMLY STALLS WHILE DRIVING OR PARKED. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GETS PRODUCED. IN THAT SPLIT SECOND THAT IT SHUTS OFF, THE CAR LOSES POWER COMPLETELY AND NO BRAKES OR POWER STEERING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, AND DODGE SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY TO FIX THIS ISSUE. MOST SOURCES POINT TO A FAULTY GAS TANK THAT HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY NOW BUT SHOULD BE RECALLED.
CAR CONTINUES TO STALL AT LOW SPEED, STOP SIGN, LIGHT, ETC. IM VERY CAUTIOUS WHEN I TURN ONTO TRAFFIC FOR FEAR OF CAR STALLING AND ME GETTING HIT. HAD IT TO NUMEROUS MECHANICS AND NO ONE CAN PIN POINT IT. USUALLY STALLS OUT 5-10 TIMES ON WAY TO AND FROM WORK EVERYDAY. I LIVE ABOUT 4 MILES FROM MY JOB.
CAR SHUT OFF AFTER FILL UP
MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER HAS BEEN HESITATING AND DYING IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING UP MY FUEL TANK, EVERY TIME. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM AS OF THE LAST 6 MONTHS. I'VE READ IN MULTIPLE ONLINE DODGE FORUMS THAT THIS HAS TO DO WITH A FAULTY 'EVAPORATION VALVE' IN THE FUEL TANK AND THAT THERE ARE MANY 2006 DODGE OWNERS WHO HAVE ENCOUNTERED THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THERE ARE NO CODES IN THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER & THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT TAKEN OWNERSHIP OF THE PROBLEM CREATED BY THEIR DESIGN & CREATED A RECALL OF THE GAS TANK OR 'EVAPORATION VALVE'. I WAS DIRECTED TO THIS WEBSITE TO NOTIFY YOU OF THIS PROBLEM IN HOPES OF ALERTING DODGE OF THE ISSUE. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. IN THE EVENT THAT THIS HAPPENS IN TRAFFIC OR WHILE TURNING IN AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE MAY EASILY BECOME UNCONTROLLABLE, AS ALL POWER STEERING & POWER BRAKES ARE RENDERED USELESS.

I HAD MY CAR 14 YEARS (BOUGHT NEW IN 2006)KEPT UP WITH MAINTENANCE, OIL CHANGED ECT.. MY CARS HAS CLOSE TO 167,000. WHILE DRIVING TO LOCAL GAS STATION PARKED MY CAR WENT GOT WHAT I NEEDED. AND MY CAR WOULDN'T CRANK OVER AND I HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE EACH TIME THE ENGINE TRIED TO TURN OVER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE GEAR SHIFTER CEASED IN THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND REMAINED AT THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. INVALID VIN.
I FILLED MY GAS TANK UP AND WHEN I DID AS I WAS DRIVING AT AROUND 15-20MPH MY CAR STALLED ON ME AND LATER ON IT SHUT OFF AS I WAS COMING TO A STOP THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL MY GAS TANK UP.
CAR STALLS AFTER FILLING UP WITH FUEL. ALSO DIES FOR NO REASON AT INTERMITTENT TIMES. THESE HAPPEN WHILE IN MOTION OR SITTING AT IDLE.
After filling fuel to proper level the vehicle shakes and as car continues to drive at normal speeds car shuts down and loses steering and power. This may be related to the fuel tank issue these have with the built in valves. The fuel pump works just fine so i know its not that. again symptoms only happen when filling the gas tank to full which is the proper level. I don't understand why this car was not recalled along with the rest. although I'm starting to be really hesitant of ever buying any dodge or Chrysler vehicle again.

TRAVELING I-5 AT 65 MPH WHEN THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. NO RESPONSE IN GAS PEDAL, ENGINE STUTTERED. PULLED OFF FREEWAY AND PUT IT IN PARK AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. WAITED FOR AROUND 10 -20 SECONDS THEN RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THEN ALL POWER AND DRIVEABILITY CAME BACK. THIS IS THE 5TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED FOR THIS CAR AND BECOMING MORE FREQUENTLY. TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO HAVE IT PUT ON A DIAGNOSIS. CODE IS P0016. CRANK SHAFT POSITION, CAM SHAFT POSITION CORRELATION/BANK 1 SENSOR A. ALSO CODE P0128. THERMOSTAT RATIONALITY TEST. *TR

I swerved to avoid animal in the roadway. Over corrected my skid and went into the ditch at highway speed. The airbag never deployed and I had a fracture to my lumbar 1. Insurance denied my claim and have the vehicle listed as a 2007 charger. They should have at least covered part of this incident as there was full coverage through progressive insurance at the time.

THE CONTACT ALSO TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CHAMPION CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (563 N GRAND AVE, NOGALES, AZ 85621) WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A FAULTY BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THE FAILURES AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THANKFULLY, THE OTHER DRIVERS AVOIDED HITTING US UNTIL WE GOT IT RESTARTED. THEN AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE CAR AGAIN STARTED BUCKING AND CHOKING. RESEARCH ONLINE SHOWS THIS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT CONCERNS ME GREATLY!

AFTER REFUELING THE CAR STALLS AFTER MOVING MAYBE 20 FEET. IT TAKES A WHILE TO START BACK UP BUT STALLS AGAIN WHILE MOVING ON THE HIGHWAY/ROAD.
CAR WILL RUN FINE ONE DAY NEXT DAY IT WON'T, CAR CUTS OFF WHEN STOPPING AN STOP SIGN OR LIGHT. CAR JERKS WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL TOO HARD, GAS ODORS COMING FROM MUFFLER.
PCM SHUTS DOWN BRIEFLY WITHOUT WARNING AT SEEMINGLY RANDOM TIMES, ALTHOUGH THIS SEEMS TO BE MORE COMMON WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STATIONARY SUCH AS AT A STOPLIGHT. SOMETIMES THE OUTRAGE IS EXTREMELY SHORT AND THERE IS A DING FROM THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, SOMETIMES IT IS LONGER WITH ONE OR MORE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATE BRIEFLY INCLUDING THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE, AND SOMETIMES THE CEL WILL ILLUMINATE. OUTAGE NEVER SEEMS TO LAST MORE THAN A FRACTION OF A SECOND. IF THE CEL COMES ON THE CODE IS U0100 LOST COMM. W/PCM. IF SPEED IS ABOVE ABOUT 15 MPH THE ENGINE DOESN'T ACTUALLY STOP, THERE'S JUST A BIG JOLT, AS IF THEY HEY HAD BEEN TURNED OFF AND THEN RAPIDLY BACK ON. AT SLOWER SPEEDS THE ENGINE STOPS AND MUST BE RESTARTED WITH THE KEY. THIS HAS RESULTED IN NEAR ACCIDENTS WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND SUDDENLY STOPPING. DEALER HAD THE CAR FOR A WEEK, AT FIRST COULDN'T DUPLICATE BUT WHEN IT DID HAPPEN THEY COULDN'T DIAGNOSE. THEY REPROGRAMMED THE TCM AND CHANGED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER (WHICH WERE DUE ANYWAY) AND REPLACED THE BATTERY FOR LACK OF ANY BETTER IDEAS. THIS PROBLEM CAN GO A WEEK OR TWO WITHOUT HAPPENING OR HAPPEN 10 TIMES IN 3 DAYS. I ADDED A RECORDING VOLTMETER TO MONITOR KEY VOLTAGES IN AND OUT OF THE PCM (MEASURED AND RECORDED APPROXIMATELY 20 TIMES PER SECOND) AND THIS SHOWED THE FIRST SIGN OF TROUBLE IS THE AUTO SHUTDOWN RELAY CONTROL VOLTAGE OUT OF THE PCM GOING TO ZERO WHILE THE BATTERY VOLTAGE AND KEYSWITCH 'RUN' VOLTAGES BOTH REMAINED HIGH(~14.2 VOLTS). I REPLACED THE PCM WITH A REFURBISHED ONE (COULD NOT LOCATE A NEW REPLACEMENT) AND THE PROBLEM WAS NOT OBSERVED FOR TWO MONTHS, BUT THEN RESUMED. MULTIPLE SIMILAR REPORTS ON THE INTERNET, MOSTLY RELATED TO FILLING THE GAS TANK BUT MY PROBLEM HAS NO CORRELATION TO REFUELING OR FUEL LEVEL.
I TOOK MY 06 CHARGER IN FOR AIRBAG RECALL AND WHEN I LEFT THE DEALER MY CAR SHUT OFF AT EVERY LIGHTS AND SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF GOING 40 50 MILES AN HOUR. IT CONTINUES TO DO THAT MORE AND MORE EVERYDAY. I'VE READ ON THE INTERNET ABOUT SO MANY OF THE 6TH GENERATION DODGE CHRYSLER PRODUCTS DOING THIS EXACT SAME THING. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY A PROBLEM THAT CAUSES YOU TO STALL OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION IS NOT ADDRESSED. FIRST IT START TELLING ME THAT IT WAS ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL PROBLEM, THEN IT'S NOW TELLING ME THAT IS A PROBLEM BETWEEN THE THROTTLE CONTROL MODULE AND THE ECM. THIS HAPPENED EXACTLY ONE MINUTE AFTER I LEFT THE DEALER GETTING MY AIRBAGS RECALLED. IT STALLS AT WHEN STATIONARY, WHEN MOVING, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET, AND EVERY COUPLE MINUTES. I KNOW I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY NOTHING IS BEING ADDRESSED.
TURNING ONTO ON-RAMP OF A HIGHWAY I WAS MOVING ABOUT 20 MILES AN HOUR WHEN THE ENGINE DIED AND I LOST POWER STEERING. ADDITIONALLY, I FELT A VERY TOUGH TRANSMISSION SHIFT 2-3 SECONDS BEFORE I LOST POWER STEERING AND WHEN THE ENGINE DIED. THE CAR TOOK MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO TURN OVER. A VERY LOUD WHIRRING NOISE BEGAN IN THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION AREA AND IS YET TO STOP.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE AND THEN TOWED TO WARSAW BUICK-GMC (LOCATED AT 2777 N DETROIT ST, WARSAW, IN 46582, (574) 306-0508). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CYLINDER HEAD AND PISTON NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,081. *PM *TP
VEHICLE STALLS AND DIES 6-8 TIMES IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING TANK WITH FUEL. IT DOES THIS EVERY TIME I FILL IT. PURCHASED CAR ON 7/27/2019. RECALL ON AIRBAGS ACTUATOR WAS REPAIRED AT DEALERSHIP BUT IS NOT SHOWING AS DOCUMENTED ON YOUR WEBSITE.
SOMETIMES AFTER FILLING THE FUEL TANK FULL WITH GASOLINE, WHEN DRIVING THE CAR, THE ENGINE STALLS AND QUITS. IT CAN BE A BIT DIFFICULT TO RESTART. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS HAPPEN ON CITY STREETS BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE ONLY PLACES I NORMALLY DRIVE.
MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER HAS DEVELOPED A STALLING ISSUE EVERY TIME I FILL WITH GAS. I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT THINGS AS FAR AS NOT FILLING TO THE TOP OR NOT TOPPING IT OFF WITH GAS. I FILLED WITH GAS ALONG AN INTERSTATE AND WHEN I WAS TRYING TO GET ON THE INTERSTATE IT QUIT ON ME DOWN THE OFF RAMP WHEN I WAS TO MERGE WITH TRAFFIC. WAS ABLE TO GET CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE AND RE-START BUT DIED AGAIN. STARTED AGAIN AND THEN IT RAN WITH NO ISSUES. NOW IT HAS ISSUES EVERY TIME IT IS GASSED UP. I FILLED UP YESTERDAY AND SAME THING DIED OUT AT A STOP SIGN TRYING TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE HEARD THIS IS A BIG ISSUE WITH THESE CARS AND I'M SURPRISED THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN ANYTHING DONE TO DODGE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. I'VE HEARD IT COULD COST UP TO $1,500 TO FIX. I LIKE THE CAR BUT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO DRIVE IT. PLEASE HELP! THANKS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. UPON PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROYAL BUICK GMC (815 W AUTO MALL DR, LOT A, TUCSON, AZ 85705, (520) 777-1149) WHERE IT WAS SERVICED AND REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A BANK INSTALLED A LOJACK DEVICE ON THE VEHICLE, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST BECAUSE OF THE DEVICE ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
THERE IS A RECALL K#39 FOR 2005-2007 DODGE CHARGERS FOR WHEN THE CAR WILL NOT LEAVE THE PARKED POSITION. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY CAR THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING MY CAR IS NOT COVERED IN THIS RECALL. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THEY ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE 2005 AND 2006 DATES OF CARS THAT WERE AFFECTED!. I WANT CLARIFICATION OF WHY MY CAR IS NOT COVERED WHEN IT FITS EVERY DESCRIPTION IN THE RECALL. THEY HAD ME TOW MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NOW SAYING I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT TO BE FIXED.
MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER RT WITH THE ROAD AND TRACK OPTION WILL INTERMITTENTLY LOOSE POWER AND OFTEN DIE AFTER FILLING GAS TANK. EVEN IF YOU DON'T COMPLETELY FILL IT STILL WILL DIE UNEXPECTEDLY. I NEVER TOP THE TANK OFF WITH MORE GAS. IN ADDITION WHEN CAR DIES GOING AROUND A CURVE, THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT MAKING DRIVING REALLY DANGEROUS. THE ENGINE DIES AT NEARLY ANY CONDITION. WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, AFTER ACCELERATING AFTER STOPPING. IT HAPPENS MOST DURING ACCELERATION AFTER TURNS.
The issue is that after fueling up my car I will drive a little ways down the road and the car will shut off and I will need to steer out of the way of traffic and restart the car. This will happen several times after refueling. This appears to be a common problem with 2006 Dodge Chargers, Magnums, and Chrysler 300s. It appears that the issue is that fuel was observed entering the purge line prior to initial shut off of the fill nozzle. This causes fuel to escape from the fuel tank assembly into the evaporative system. The multi-function control valve’s refueling float stays stuck in an open position and is the cause of this issue. “Rich fuel” gets into the engine and the engine will shut down. The NHTSA has investigated the issue under investigation number PE13-016. I was directed to report the issue to the NHTSA website if I have the issue, which I do.
