SQUEAKY BRAKES ON MY 06 DODGE CHARGER SINCE I HAD 9,000 MILES ON THE CAR. NOBODY WILL DO ANYTHING (SERVICE DEPT.'S AND CHRYSLER-DAIMLER) SAYING IT'S NOT AN ISSUE YET THEY SEE FIT TO UPGRADE TO SLOTTED BRAKES ON ALL THE 07 MODELS. *JB
BRAKE SYSTEM WARPING ON POLICE PACKAGE DODGE CHARGER. *NM
I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T WITH LESS THAN 12,000 MILES. IN MARCH OF 2006, I HAD A BLOW-OUT OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE AFTER BUMPING A CURB. THE IMPACT WAS NOT THAT GREAT AND NO DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE CAR, BUT THE TIRE WAS DESTROYED. ON 8/25/2006, THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE WENT FLAT FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I HAVE IT IN FOR SERVICE TODAY TO DETERMINE THE ISSUE. MY CONCERN IS THAT TWO TIRES HAVE FAILED AT UNDER 12,000 MILES. *NM
2006 DODGE CHARGER SE BRAKES SQUEALING ON TURNS AND DURING STOPS. ROTORS SHOWING NO MACROSCOPIC SIGNS OF WEAR. SEVERAL OWNERS WITH SAME MODEL AS WELL AS UPGRADED MODELS, HAVE NOTICED SIMILAR SITUATIONS AT EXTREMELY LOW MILES. BRAKE RETURN SPRING IS ALSO MAKING NOISE WHEN PEDDLE IS DEPRESSED AND RETURNS TO ORIGINAL POSITION. *NM
BRAKE ROTORS ON MY CHARGER DAYTONE KEEP WARPING OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM BUT DODGE IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT STARTED HAPPENING AT 7K STILL ONGOING 6TH TRIP TO DEALER. *NM
POLICE PACKAGE VEHICLE. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN SQUEALING SINCE THE CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 200 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. CURRENT ODOMETER READING IS 2200. *NM
BRAKE CALIPER MAKES NOISES WHEN CAR IS DRIVING SLOW. *NM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND ALL OF THE WARNING LAMPS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,400.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 06 DODGE CHARGER R/T. VIN: [XXX]. MANUFACTURED 3/06. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH ADVANCED AIR BAGS, AND AN OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM THAT WILL DISABLE THE AIR BAGS IF IT DETECTS A SMALL CHILD IN THE FRONT SEAT. HOWEVER, ON MY CAR, AND ON THE OTHER (20+) CARS ON THE DEALERS LOT, THE INDICATOR THAT TELLS YOU WHEN THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS DISABLED IS NOT PRESENT. THERE IS SIMPLY A PLASTIC PLACE-HOLDER WHERE THE INDICATOR LIGHT SHOULD BE. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SEVERAL OTHER CHARGER AND 300C OWNERS, AND VIRTUALLY ALL MODELS PRODUCED AFTER JAN 06 DO NOT HAVE THIS LIGHT. HERE IS A MEMO THAT MY DEALER FOUND FROM CHRYSLER CONCERNING THIS: NOTE FOR ALL MARKETS; AS OF 12/23/2005, FOR CARS WITHOUT SIDE AIRBAGS, AND AS OF 01/05/2006 FOR CARS WITH SIDE AIRBAGS, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DISABLE[PAD] LAMP IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL. IT IS STILL PRESENT, BUT WILL NOT ILLUMINATE AT ANY TIME. ACCORDING TO NHTSA LAW: HTTP://WWW.NHTSA.DOT.GOV/NCAP/AIRBAG...FRONTABS.HTM#5 VEHICLES WITH ADVANCED FRONTAL AIR BAGS THAT ARE DESIGNED TO SUPPRESS THE AIR BAGS (NOT ALLOW THEM TO DEPLOY) ARE ALSO REQUIRED TO HAVE AN INDICATOR LIGHT WITH THE PHRASE "PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF" OR "PASS AIR BAG OFF". WHEN ILLUMINATED, THE PURPOSE OF THIS INDICATOR LIGHT IS TO INFORM YOU THAT THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIR BAG HAS BEEN AUTOMATICALLY TURNED OFF (SUPPRESSED) BY THE ADVANCED FRONTAL AIR BAG SYSTEM AND THEREFORE WILL NOT DEPLOY. THIS CAN HAPPEN IF SENSORS DETECT A SMALL-STATURED PASSENGER SUCH AS AN INFANT OR TODDLER IN THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SEATING POSITION. THIS SEEMS LIKE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE TO ME. PURCHASED JULY 14, 2006. IT RAN GREAT WITH NO PROBLEMS UNTIL JULY 26. I WENT TO TAKE A LEFT OUT OF MY COMPANY'S PARKING LOT AND THE CAR SPUTTERED AND WOULD ACCELERATE FAST. I HAD TO PULL OFF ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND GAVE IT SOME GAS. I ATTEMPTED TO GO AGAIN WHEN THE TRAFFIC WAS CLEAR AND IT SPUTTERED MORE UNTIL I GAVE IT A LOT OF GAS AND THEN IT DROVE FINE. I THOUGH IT WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT SO I DROVE IT HOME. THAT NIGHT MY WIFE, SON AND I TOOK THE CAR TO THE MALL. UPON LEAVING THE MALL IT DID IT AGAIN AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE DEALERSHIP WAS STILL OPEN AND CLOSE BY SO I DROVE IT DIRECTLY THERE. THEY GAVE ME A LOANER TO DRIVE WHILE THEY ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT. ON AUGUST 9, THEY GAVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO ME. THAT NIGHT IT DID IT AGAIN, EXCEPT THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY DIED ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE NEXT DAY IT WAS BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IS SAT FOR 37 DAYS WHILE THEY TRIED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. THEY REPLACED ALL THE OXYGEN SENSORS, THE POWER CONTROL MODULE, THE WIRING HARNESSES AND I AM SURE THERE WERE SOME OTHER THINGS. THEY TEST DROVE IT FOR 9 KEY CYCLES AND 250 MILES AND WERE 98% CONFIDENT THEY FIXED IT SO I GOT THE CAR BACK ON SEPTEMBER 15. THE NEXT DAY THE SAME PROBLEM RETURNED AND I WAS 50 MILES FROM HOME AND THIS TIME THE IDLING OF THE CAR WAS SO ROUGH THAT THE CAR WAS VISIBLY SHAKING. I HAD A FRIEND FOLLOW ME HOME AND SINCE IT WAS A SATURDAY NIGHT, THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT OPEN AND WOULD NOT BE UNTIL MONDAY. MONDAY MORNING I STARTED THE CAR UP AND LET IT IDLE 5 MINUTES BEFORE LEAVING. WHEN I GOT IN, IT WAS IDLING ROUGH AGAIN AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING. I SHUT IT DOWN, CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND IT IS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WILL STAY BECAUSE I AM NOT TAKING IT BACK. I HAVE REQUESTED VEHICLE REPLACEMENT FROM CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP. NOW HERE I AM 5 DAYS LATER AND THERE IS STILL NO ANSWER AS TO WHEN I WILL GET A NEW VEHICLE. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE IS 15,500. WHEN DRIVING 60 MPH OR HIGHER THE ENTIRE VEHICLE VIBRATES. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THIS REASON; HOWEVER THE DEALER HAD BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT DID NOT WANT TO GUESS THE FAILURE MILEAGE.
AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS CAR WILL EITHER STALL RIGHT AWAY OR SOMETIMES AFTER A FEW MILES WHEN CAR STALLS LOOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES MAKING FOR A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR
CAR STALLS. USUALLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP BUT HAS STOPPED WHILE DRIVING ON TA TWO LANE HIGHWAY IN 120 DEGREE WEATHER. ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED. *NM
FRONT ROTOR WARPING AND FRONT ROTOR PREMATURE DETERIORATION. I TOOK MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER DAYTONA IN AT 600 MILES WITH PREMATURE ROTOR GOUGING. I WAS TOLD BY KEENE DODGE IN JARRESTSVILLE MD THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. I BELIEVED AND TOLD THEM NO WAY IT WAS A NORMAL PROBLEM WITH A VEHICLE. THEY TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THEIR SERVICE AREA. AFTER A SHORT VISIT TO THE SERVICE AREA I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE WRITER THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. I WAS NOT HAPPY, BUT WHAT IS ONE TO DO IN A SITUATION WHERE ONE IS BLOWN OFF. I DROVE THE CAR THE WAY IT WAS AND KIND OF IGNORED THE PROBLEM. WELL IT GOT WORSE AS THE MILES WENT BY UNTIL WHILE BRAKING THE CAR HAD SHAKING AT HIGHWAY BRAKING ALONG WITH PULSATING. I TOOK THE CAR TO COOK MOTORCARS OF ABERDEEN MD AND AT FIRST WAS TOLD THIS WAS A NORMAL SITUATION. I AGAIN OBJECTED. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT. MY CAR NOW HAD 7900 MILES ON IT. I DROPPED THE CAR OFF WHILE I WAS AT WORK AND CALLED AROUND 1PM AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ROTORS WERE INDEED WARPED. THE SERVICE WRITER TOLD ME THAT THEY TRIED TO TURN THE ROTORS AND WHEN THEY DID THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH METAL LEFT FOR SAFE BRAKING. THEY REPLACED THE ROTORS, WITH THE SAME KIND THAT WAS ON THE VEHICLE WHEN I PURCHASED IT. I BELONG TO THE DODGE CHARGER FORUMS AND THERE ARE 100'S OF CHARGER OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND ARE BEING TOLD THIS IS NORMAL. CAR PURCHASED 2/2006 W/ APPROX. 5,600 MI. FIRST OCCURRENCE IN 6/2007: VEHICLE IN DRIVE AT STOPPED POSITION. PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE THROUGH INTERSECTION. VEHICLE ALMOST STALLS AND SPUTTERS (ENGINE MAKES ROUGH WINDING NOISE). DOES NOT ACCELERATE. ENGINE LIGHT ON BRIEFLY. PULLED OVER, PUT IN PARK, RETURNED TO DRIVE TO TRY AGAIN. SAME THING HAPPENS. TURNED VEHICLE OFF, WAITED A FEW SECONDS, AND THEN BACK ON. DROVE FINE FOR ABOUT 30 DAYS. THOUGHT MAYBE BAD GAS. OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS IT HAPPENED APPROX. 5 MORE TIMES AT DIFFERENT TIMES DURING THE DAY (HOT AND COOL DAYS, ENGINE COOL AND WARM). TWICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND HAD TO TURN OFF FOR OVER 5 MINUTES BEFORE LIGHT WOULD GO OUT TO PROCEED. BROUGHT IN TO CHRYSLER DEALER ON SEP. 13, 2007 WHERE CAR WAS PURCHASE FOR OIL CHANGE, TUNE UP, NEW TIRES AND EXPLAINED ROUGH/WHINING IDOL,LACK OF ACCELERATION AND STALLING/BOGGING DOWN OCCURRENCES FROM A STOPPED POSITION. SAID PROBLEM WAS FIXED AFTER MOUSE NEST REMOVED FROM ENGINE AND INJECTOR WIRE REPAIR FROM CHEWING. SEPT. 17 & 18, HAPPENED AGAIN - BACKED OUT OF DRIVEWAY (EACH MORNING), CAME TO A STOP, PUT IT IN DRIVE, AND ROUGH/WHINING ENGINE SOUND AND NO ACCELERATION ABOVE 20 MPH. BROUGHT BACK TO SAME DEALER ON 18 SEPT. HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO "DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM" SO LEFT OVERNIGHT. *TR UPDATED 01-14-08. *KB UPDATED 12/12/08. *JB
AFTER FILLING CAR WITH GAS THE ENGINE STALLS MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE FIRST FEW MILES.THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME A FEW HUNDRED TIMES OVER THE YEARS,I HAVE ALMOST BEEN T BONED AND REAR ENDED MULTIPLE TIMES DUE TO THIS DEFECT. I WAS APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT AND APPLIED MY BRAKES TO STOP. I FELT MY BRAKES SLIPPING AS IF THEY WERE PRESSING FULLY TO THE FLOOR NOT STOPPING MY VEHICLE. IN RESULT I REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THAT CHAIN REACTED HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A BRAKE SPECIALIST AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM BEING THE BRAKES NEEDED REPLACED AND 2 ROTORS NEEDED RESURFACED. MY VEHICLE IS A 2006 MODEL. I'VE MADE THE DEALER AWARE OF WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED UPON THEIR DIAGNOSIS AS WELL. *NM
I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER AND NOTICED ON THE RECALL STATS I GET SENT ON THE E-MAIL THAT SEVERAL OTHERS HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH THEIR CHARGERS HESITATING OR STALLING ON TAKE OFF. I HAVE HAD THE HESITATION EVERY SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN MARCH OF 2006. I HAD IT INTO THE SHOP ONCE IN MIDLAND, TEXAS WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR RIGHT AFTER I BOUGHT IT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS HOW THAT PARTICULAR CAR DID AND IT WAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. AFTER PURCHASING MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER IN APRIL OF 2006 I IMMEDIATELY HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SQUEAKING FROM THE FRONT BRAKES. WHEN TAKING THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE I WAS REPEATEDLY TOLD IT WAS BRAKE DUST AND IT WOULD GO AWAY WHEN WASHING. THE NOISE HAS NEVER GONE AWAY AND HAS CONTINUED TO GET WORSE NOW THAT I HAVE OVER 20,000 MILES ON THEM. *JB

THE CAR STOPS WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING. NO POWER TO THE GAS PEDAL WHILE THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP WITH ALL WARNING LIGHTS. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES, ONCE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER 2ND TIME IN SHOP WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF BUYING CAR, THE POWER CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED. DAIMLER CHRYSLER ASSURED ME IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. IT DID AND I AM FILING UNDER THE LEMON LAW FOR A NEW CAR. THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 17 DAYS OUT OF THE FIRST 30 I OWNED IT. IT IS GOING IN AGAIN. *JB
2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T BEEN HAVING FRONT BRAKE PROBLEMS SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIME AND THEY HAVE ACKNOWLEDGE 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T BEEN HAVING FRONT BRAKE PROBLEMS SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. BRAKE VIBRATIONS, RATTLING NOISES, SQUEAKS, AND BRAKE FADE. HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. THE FIRST FEW TIME WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG. BUT NOW THEY HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THIS IS A PROBLEM AND REPLACE MY ROTORS FOR FREE. ON WEEK LATER THE PROBLEM RETURNS. *NM
NOISY BRAKES THAT DEALERSHIP HAS NOT REPLACED OR FIXED. *AK
DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, THE FUEL TANK WAS PUNCTURED AND A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF GAS STREAMED OUT OF THE TANK. TO THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER'S KNOWLEDGE, NO FOREIGN OBJECTS WERE STRUCK BY THE VEHICLE. DURING THE SUBSEQUENT REPAIR BY THE DEALER, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE GAS TANK IS MADE OUT OF PLASTIC, AND THE CORNER THAT WAS PUNCTURED WAS NOT PROTECTED BY AN ADDITIONAL SHIELDING DEVICE. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE IN A LEFT HAND CURVE AT 23 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRE SEPARATED FROM THE WHEEL. THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE TO WARN THE CONTACT OF LOW TIRE PRESSURE. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO GO OFF OF THE ROAD INTO A TRENCH, BOUNCING BETWEEN EITHER SIDES OF THE TRENCH. THE VEHICLE HIT SIX TREES AND ENDED UP PINNED AGAINST THE MOUNTAIN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. MOST OF THE DAMAGE OCCURRED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELTS WERE WORN. THE INDICATOR LIGHT THAT STATES THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WAS DEACTIVATED WAS ILLUMINATED. THE OCCUPANTS SUSTAINED INJURIES. THERE WAS A POLICE REPORT TAKEN AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP, WHERE REPAIRS WERE STARTED. THAT DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO PERFORM ALL NECESSARY REPAIRS; THEREFORE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED TO THE CONTACT.
EVER SINCE I HAVE BOUGHT MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER SXT I HAVE HAD A STRONG VIBRATION IN MY BREAKS, IT SHAKES MY STEERING WHEEL, AND WHOLE CAR, I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT IT WAS NORMAL FOR NEW CARS TO BREAK LIKE THAT, WELL ON MY LAST SERVICE THE PEOPLE TOLD ME THAT MY ROTORS ARE WARPED AND THATI AM GOING TO NEED TO REPLACE THEM SOON, I DONT HAVE THE BREAKING POWER THAN I FEEL IS SAFE. I OWN A 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T THAT HAS A RECURRING BRAKE PROBLEM. THERE IS A NOTICEABLY LOUD SOUND COMING FROM AT LEAST 2 AND POSSIBLY ALL 4 WHEEL WELLS. WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE IS ENGAGED I HAVE INTERMITTENT SLIPPAGE BEFORE THE CAR SETTLES. AND FINALLY, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE I RECEIVE OCCASIONAL SHUDDERING IN THE CAR. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO TAKE THE CAR INTO THREE SEPARATE DODGE DEALERSHIPS IN THE DALLAS TEXAS AREA ON SEVEN DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND ON SIX OF THOSE TRIPS WAS INFORMED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. ON MY FIFTH SERVICE TRIP A BRAKE JOB WAS PERFORMED, BUT HAS HAD NO EFFECT IN FIXING THE PROBLEM. ON THE SUBSEQUENT TWO TRIPS I WAS AGAIN TOLD THAT NOTHING COULD BE FOUND WRONG WITH THE BRAKES AND THAT THE NOISE WAS NORMAL. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN AT THE 11,000 MILE MARK AND HAS BEEN DETERIORATING SINCE THEN (CURRENTLY AT 27,000 MILES). IF NOTHING IS DONE SOON, I FEEL THAT I WILL NEED TO UNNECESSARILY AND UNJUSTLY PURCHASE AN ENTIRELY NEW BRAKE SYSTEM FOR MY CAR TO ENSURE MY DRIVING SAFETY. *AK

THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE HAND BRAKE WAS APPLIED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. ON EACH OCCASION WHEN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED, THE GROUND WAS WET FROM MELTING SNOW AND THE VEHICLE WAS ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 21,155 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING AS IT SHOULD. THE FAILURE CONTINUED INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATED FOR 20 MINUTES OR MORE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A NEW MOTOR WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,200 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 43,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL FAILURES THAT PROGRESSED WITHIN MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION ,THE BRAKES FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY WHEN APPLIED. AN UNKNOWN DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKES AND THE PINION PINS TWICE DUE TO THE WHEELS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BEING AFFECTED DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING TO DETERMINE IF THERE WAS AN OPTION TO TRADE IN OR BUY BACK THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DT: THE CONSUMER STATES WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH THE ABS FAILED TO ACTIVATE. THE VEHICLE SKIDDED OFF THE ROAD AND INTO SEVERAL TREES. UPON IMPACT, THE FRONTAL AND SIDE/CURTAIN AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT FELT IT WAS A TRACTION CONTROL PROBLEM. THE ABS FAILED ONCE BEFORE. I WORK FOR A CHRYSLER-DODGE AUTO DEALERSHIP IN TEXAS. WE ARE CURRENTLY REPAIRING A 2006 DODGE CHARGER HEATER CORE LEAK. THE HEATER CORE LEAKED HOT ANTIFREEZE ONTO THE GAS PEDAL AND ONTO THE LEG OF ONE OF OUR SALESMAN.*JB THE HEATER CORE IS A VERY POOR DESIGN AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS BURNED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE HEATER CORE TUBES ARE HELD ON TO THE CORE BY A SMALL CHEESY CLAMP THAT COMES OFF VERY EASY. EVEN THE NEW HEATER CORE WE RECEIVED FROM CHRYSLER TUBES WERE HALF WAY OFF OF THE HEATER CORE. *JB
I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES TO HAVE ISSUES FIXED. EACH TIME I GOT THE CAR BACK, IT WAS WORSE. I HAD 13 ISSUES ORIGINALLY WITH THE CAR. I ENDED UP SUING, AND GOT A VERY SMALL SETTLEMENT- DODGE REFUSED TO COOPERATE. I STILL HAVE EACH AND EVERY PROBLEM, AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. DISK BRAKE NOISE. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR SINCE IT WAS NEW, AND HAVE HAD FREQUENT PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES, MOSTLY INB THE FRONT AXEL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT ROTORS AND PADS AT LEAST 2 TIMES I BELIEVE, AND RECENTLY A FEW MONTHS AGO, I CHANGED THE FRONT PADS AGAIN TO TRY TO GET RID OF THE SQUEALING NOISE. I HAVE PURCHASED OEM BRAKES AND ROTORS FROM THE DEALER, AND LAST TIME I REPLACED THEM, I USED A BRAND FROM A LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE. IT SEEMS THAT I THE BRAKES STAY QUIET FOR A LITTLE WHILE AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN CLEANED AND SERVICES, BUT SOON START RETURNING TO MAKING A HORRIBLE SQUEALING NOISE ANYTIME THE BRAKES ARE USED. AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS FOR THIS AT TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS, AND READING UP ON THE MANUFACTURES WEB FORUMS, IT LOOKS LIKE THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO A LOT MORE PEOPLE THAN JUST ME. I AM ABOUT TO FILE A LEMON LAW COMPLAINT BECAUSE DODGE HAS BEEN "UNABLE TO DUPLICATE" THE MOST SERIOUS PROBLEMS THAT HAVE PLAGUED MY VEHICLE, A 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T, SINCE DAY FOUR OF MY OWNERSHIP. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 68 DAYS AND OF THOSE, I HAVE ONLY BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE THE FUNCTIONING CAR FOR 19 DAYS. THEY HAVE FIXED A NUMBER OF MINOR ISSUES AND NOTIFIED ME THAT THEY WOULD BE UNABLE TO FIX OR DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX AT THIS TIME, SOME MINOR ISSUES INCLUDING THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR PROBLEMS (WHICH THEY SAY THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN "UNABLE TO DUPLICATE". THE SERIOUS ISSUES THAT ARE OCCURRING WHEN IT IDLES, WHEN IT ACCELERATES AND WITH WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE SUSPENSION AND POSSIBLY BOTH THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. OF THOSE 68 DAYS, THEY HAVE COME TO PICK UP MY CAR ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS TO TRY AND FIX IT, THE LAST TIME (WHICH CONTINUES CURRENTLY) THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR FOUR WEEKS. I HAPPEN TO KNOW (UPON RESEARCHING AFTER THE PROLONGED PERIOD THEY HAVE HAD THE CAR) THAT TSB'S OR TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR EVERY PROBLEM THAT IS OCCURRING WITH MY CAR. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS (ONE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND ONE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC) THAT HAVE WITNESSED THESE MALFUNCTIONS. I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T. ON 6/3/11, I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 45MPH WHEN THE ENGINE DIED AND I LOST ALL POWER. After filling the gas tank with gas.Car starts missing and engine will stall . If you stop at red light after filling up car will stall and the engine stops running. If you dot fill the car up to full it has no problem running it does as it should
