BRAKING SYSTEM IS SQUEALING UNDER NORMAL USE, AND WARPED ROTORS ARE NOTICEABLE DURING ALL BRAKING CONDITIONS. *JB
THE ABS LIGHTS AND ESP LIGHTS ALONG WITH THE TRACTION LIGHTS APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD, AND WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, PRESSING THE BRAKES, IT DIDN'T COME TO A COMPLETE STOP.IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS EXCORTING MY 10 YEAR OLD SON TO SCHOOL. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATES AND THE VEHICLE FAILS TO STOP WITHIN EXPECT PARAMETERS. HE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 27,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.

FRONT BRAKES WHISTLING WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED.*AK
WARPED FRONT ROTORS AFTER BUYING CAR AND PERSONALLY PLACING LESS THAN 2,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
WE PURCHASED A 2006 DODGE CHARGER RT BRAND NEW IN 4/2006. AT APPROXIMATELY 8000 MILES WE STARTED HEARING THE BRAKES SQUEAL. IT CAME AND WENT BUT AT 12K WE TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE. WE WERE TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG. I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT I KNEW THERE WAS A PRETTY BIG ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE SQUEAL BECAUSE I HAD DONE MY RESEARCH. WE TOOK THE CAR BACK IN AND THEY REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS AND RESURFACED THE ROTORS. THE BRAKES STARTED SQUEALING AGAIN IMMEDIATELY. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT IT WAS NORMAL AND THAT SINCE ASBESTOS WAS OUTLAWED THAT ALL BRAKES ARE MADE WITH MORE METAL SO THEY WILL SQUEAK. YOU AND I BOTH KNOW THAT THAT IS NOT TRUE I HAVE OWNED MANY VEHICLES AND THERE BRAKES DON'T SQUEAL. I WAS THEN TOLD MY WIFE DRIVES THE CAR TO PASSIVELY AND THE BRAKES ARE HEAVY DUTY AND THE CAR NEEDED TO BE "STOPPED MORE AGGRESSIVELY". I TRIED TO DO THE PANIC STOP THING BUT IT IS DANGEROUS AND OF COARSE IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE. OUR LAST CONTACT WAS THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE, HAD NO RESOLUTION AND THEY WOULD CALL WHEN THEY DID. THE DEALERSHIP HAS SINCE GONE OUT OF BUSINESS. THIS HAS GOT TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. YOU CANNOT RUN AROUND WITH YOUR BRAKES SQUEALING AND HAVE CONFIDENCE THAT THERE IS NOT SOMETHING WRONG. CHRYLSER KNOWS THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE AND I WANT TO LODGE A FORMAL COMPLAINT. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO CALL THE CORPORATE REPRESENTATIVE AND COMPLAIN TO THEM. WHICH I WILL DO. HOWEVER WHAT HAPPENS TO ME OR MY FAMILY IF THE BRAKES FAIL. THE DEALER SHIP HAS KEPT ALL THE PARTS THEY REPLACED AND THE SERVICE RECORDS CAN BE RETRIEVED OF THE VIN. I HOPE THAT AT LEAST A RECORD OF THIS ISSUE IS BEING KEPT AND MAYBE IT IS TIME TO FORCE CHRYSLER INTO A RECALL AND PERMANENT REPAIR TO THE BRAKES. THANK YOU *TR
ME MYSELF HAD PROBLEMS OUT OF MY FRONT ROTORS I HAD A LOT OF VIBRATION IN MY STEERING WHEEL WHEN I WENT TO BRAKE AND HAD TO SWITCH TO HIGH PERFORMANCE DRILLED SLOTTED ROTORS. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY REMOVING THE LUG NUTS ON ALL FOUR TIRES ON THE VEHICLE. HE OBSERVED THAT THE CASING ON THE LUG NUTS WERE WARPED. THE STANDARD TOOL WAS UNSUCCESSFUL IN THE REMOVAL OF THE LUG NUTS ON TWO TIRES. THE VEHICLE WILL BE TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO REMOVE THE LUG NUTS. THE CONTACT HAS CONCERNS OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
TOOK MY SRT 8 06 CHARGER TO THE DEALER 3-1-07 BECAUSE BRAKE ROTORS HAD GROOVES AND PADS WERE PREMATURELY WORN AT 19,000 MILES ON ALL 4 WHEELS. DISTRICT MANAGER REFUSED TO OFFER A REPLACEMENT AT NO COST. DODGE KNOWS THAT THIS PROBLEM EXISTS AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL.. MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE DODGE FORUM TOO REGARDING THIS. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY DECELERATE AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE DEFECT HAD RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
VEHICLE STALLS AND JERKS AFTER FUEL FILL-UP
WELL YESTERDAY EVENING. I WAS MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AND THE CAR WAS JUST REVVING WHILE STILL IN DRIVE. IF THERE WERE ANY ONCOMING TRAFFIC I COULD OFF GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT. I DON'T DRIVE THE CAR HARD, DEFINITELY DON'T RACE. WHY WOULD SOMETHING HAPPEN LIKE THIS? IT IS PRETTY MUCH A BRAND NEW CAR WHICH I KEEP UP THE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. IS THERE GOING TO BE A RECALL ON THIS EQUIPMENT BECAUSE THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I'VE READ A FEW DIFFERENT FORUMS ON THIS VEHICLE AND THERE ARE OTHERS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM OF THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR OR HESITATING TO GO INTO GEAR. SO THIS ISN'T JUST A ONE TIME THING. I LOST SOME OF THE PRIDE IN HAVING THIS CERTAIN VEHICLE. FROM MY KNOWLEDGE THE SAME TRANSMISSION WERE OFFERED IN THE OLDER E CLASS MERCEDES BENZ AND THEY TOO HAD SIMILAR PROBLEM. *NM

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE COMPONENTS RELATED TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, SUCH AS THE AIR CONDITIONER, STEERING COLUMN CONTROLS, AND PHONE SYSTEM WORKED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THEY REPLACED THE STEERING COLUMN SWITCH, CLOCK SPRING, WIRING HARNESS, HEAD UNIT, AMPLIFIER, AND RADIO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WORSENED AFTER THE REPLACEMENTS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE VEHICLE IN JULY OF 2007. AS OF NOVEMBER 13, 2007, THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT REPLACED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,700.

BRAKES SQUEAL AT ALL SPEEDS WHEN APPLIED. PULSATING OR SHAKING WHEN DECELERATING FROM HIGH SPEEDS. HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR MANY MILES AND HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO DEALER WITH SAME STORY: BRAKES ARE METALLIC AND WILL SQUEAK FROM TIME TO TIME. *NM

3/1/14....MY HUSBANDS 2006 DODGE CHARGER/HEMI, A FEW MONTHS AFTER HE PURCHASED VEHICLE, WOULD STALL SUDDENLY AFTER FILLING THE FUEL TANK WITH GAS. HE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER, WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THEY ALWAYS TOLD HIM THERE WAS NOTHING SERIOUSLY WRONG, PERHAPS A LITTLE DIRT GOT INTO THE FUEL INJECTION AND IT SHOULD CLEAR UP ON ITS OWN. THIS KEPT HAPPENING BUT THE DEALER STILL WOULD NOT ADMIT THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG. THEN WITHIN THE LAST FEW MONTHS IT WOULD SUDDEN STALL EVEN WITHOUT FUELING AND/OR WHILE HE WAS DRIVING, A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE. HE BROUGHT IT TO ANOTHER DEALER, AS THE ONE WHERE HE PURCHASED THE AUTO CLOSED, AND THEY DIAGNOSED IT TO BE A DEFECTED FUEL TANK. BY NOW, OF COURSE, THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, SO WE HAD TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE OUT OF POCKET. THIS WAS DONE ON 1/14/14 AND IT WAS EXPENSIVE. WE DEFINITELY FEEL THAT THIS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER SINCE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED WHILE IN WARRANTY AND EXPECTING SOME TYPE OF REIMBURSEMENT. RESEARCHING THIS I FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS SAME ISSUE AND I THINK THEY WILL AGREE WITH ME. THANK YOU. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2006 DODGE CHARGER IN AUGUST OF 2006. THE FIRST COUPLE THOUSAND MILES I WOULD HEAR MY FRONT BRAKES GRINDING, THINKING IT WOULD GO AWAY I KEPT DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE GRINDING NOISE FROM MY BRAKES CONTINUED TO GET WORSE SO I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH 8000 MILES ON IT. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE NOISE WAS NORMAL BUT THEY WOULD LUBE AND CLEAN THE PADS. THAT DIDN'T HELP AT ALL SO I TOOK MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP A WEEK LATER IN WHICH THEY STILL TOLD ME THE GRINDING NOISE IS NORMAL AND THERE ARE NO SAFETY PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES. I KNOW HAVE UNDER 10,000 MILES ON MY CHARGER AND THE GRINDING NOISE IS GETTING WORSE. I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT MY FAMILIES SAFETY IN THE VEHICLE ,I KNOW THE NOISE IS NOT NORMAL AND I BELIEVE THE DEALERSHIP KNOWS THAT TOO. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 2-60 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE CONTACT NORMALLY PLACES THE VEHICLE IN PARK OR APPLIES THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE, EXCEPT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE WHEEL SENSOR, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,372 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13,000.

MY BRAKES HAVE BEEN SQUEAKING SEVERELY SINCE THE PURCHASE OF MY VEHICLE. I BROUGHT MY CAR IN TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE I BOUGHT IT AT, WHICH IS ALSO MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL AND NOT TO WORRY. THE FAILURE WITH MY VEHICLE IS THAT THE BRAKES SQUEAL/SCREECH EVERY TIME I BRAKE BETWEEN 0-50 MILES PER HOUR. MY CAR ONLY HAS 11,000 MILES AND IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE DOING THIS. THIS IS RUINING MY BRAKE ROTOR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TWICE AND BOTH OF THE TIMES THEY SAID IT COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THAT WAS NO HELP AT ALL BECAUSE I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. *JB
2006 DODGE CHARGER DAYTONA TOP BANANA DEVELOPED GROOVES IN BRAKE ROTORS. AT 5600 MILES THERE IS SEVERE ROTOR GROOVING THAT RESULTED IN SEVERE BRAKE FADE THAT RESULTED IN THE CAR STRIKING A CURB SINCE THE BRAKES FAILED. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ENTERING TRAFFIC AT 35 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS DOWNSHIFTED TO SECOND, AND THEN FIRST GEAR. AT THE NEXT EXIT, THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP ON AN INCLINE. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED FLAMES COMING OUT OF THE BRAKE WELL ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED INTO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP, WHO DETERMINED THE ABS FAILED AND ALL FOUR BRAKES WERE WHITE HOT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT NO REPORT WAS GIVEN.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300.
CONTINUED BREAK SQUEAKING CAUSED BY THE GLAZING OF THE BREAK PADS DUE TO POOR PRODUCT MANUFACTURING. *NM
I'VE HAD A 2006 CHARGER RT FOR LESS THAN A YEAR. FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS THE BRAKES BEGAN SQUEALING AND FEELING LIKE THERE GRINDING AT TIMES WHEN I STOP. EACH TIME I VISITED THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT THE NOISE WAS NORMAL BECAUSE THE BRAKES AND BRAKE PADS WERE METALLIC. I RECENTLY TOOK A TRIP UP IN THE MOUNTAINS, COMING DOWN I COULDN'T EVEN USE THE BRAKES BECAUSE THE CAR BEGAN SHAKING AND PULSATING RAPIDLY I COULD BARELY HOLD ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL, LUCKILY THERE WEREN'T ANY OTHER CARS AROUND. AFTER CHECKING OUT THIS WEBSITE AND CHARGER FORUMS I'M DEFINITELY GOING TO DEMAND THAT MY ROTORS BE CHECKED AND FIXED. *NM
MY BRAKES ON MY DODGE CHARGER SE WITH THE 3.5 L V6 HAVE BEEN SQUEALING. IT FIRST STARTED ONE DAY WHEN I WAS DRIVING AND SLOWING DOWN TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A INTERSECTION. AS I GETTING VERY CLOSE THE INTERSECTION I HEARD A SQUEALING LIKE A SCHOOL BUS, SO NATURALLY I ASSUMED IT WAS A OLDER VEHICLE WITH BAD BRAKES. I KEPT DRIVING RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS WITH NO OTHER CARS PRESENT AND AGAIN WHEN I CAME TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN THE SQUEAL WAS PRESENT. I ONLY SEEMED TO GET THE SQUEAL WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP. ALSO THE BRAKES SOMETIMES MAKE A MOANING SOUND ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU COME TO SLOW DOWN. GOOD EXAMPLE IS IF YOU ARE BACKING INTO A PARKING SPACE AND PRESS THE GAS TOO MUCH, YOU NATURALLY PRESS THE BRAKE TO STOP AND THEN WILL EASE OFF OF IT. I GET THE MOANING SOUND GOING IN REVERSE MOTION AND FORWARD MOTION. I LET ME DEALER KNOW WHO SAID THAT MY VEHICLE WAS PAST 12,000 AND THAT I WOULD SIMPLY HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT. THIS MAKES NO SENSE FOR A NEW CAR TO BE DOING THIS. *JB
FRONT BRAKES ARE REQUIRING A RESURFACE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 11,000 MILES. DEALERSHIP WILL ONLY COVER BRAKES FOR 12,000 MILES. THIS SEEMS LIKE A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO A PERFORMANCE VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES LIKE THIS ON ANY OTHER VEHICLE. *NM
I PURCHASED A 2006 DODGE CHARGER APPRX 2 WKS AGO. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THE DAY AFTER I PURCHASED CAR. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE QUALITY AND SAFETY OF THE BRAKES ON MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T. EVERY TIME I BRAKE, I HEAR A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE. MY CAR HAS 10,000 MILES ON IT. I ADDRESSED THIS PROBLEM TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I GET MY CAR SERVICED AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF BRAKE PAD. I PURCHASED A NEW DODGE CHARGER R/T + RT ON 7/29/06 FROM WESTOAKS DODGE IN THOUSAND OAKS, CA. STARTING AT AROUND 1500 MILES, I NOTICED A SQUEALING SOUND FROM WHAT SOUNDS LIKE THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL. THIS SOUND SEEMS TO HAPPEN ON A CONSISTENT BASIS WHEN BRAKING LIGHTLY. I WAITED TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED AND SO I BROUGHT IT INTO WESTOAKS DODGE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON 10/16/06. AFTER WESTOAKS INSPECTED, THEY RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO ME IN THE SAME STATE AND TOLD ME THAT THE BRAKE NOISE IS NORMAL AND THEY WOULD NOT SERVICE THE CAR UNLESS DAIMLER CHRYSLER APPROVED. I THEN SUBMITTED MY PROBLEM TO DODGE CUSTOMER SUPPORT AT HTTP://WWW.DODGE.COM ON 10/17/06 AND RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING REPLY ON 10/24/06 (PARAPHRASED): UNFORTUNATELY, GIVEN THE MANY VARIABLES INVOLVED, WE ARE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE YOUR VEHICLE'S PROBLEM VIA EMAIL. WE RECOMMEND CONTACTING YOUR AUTHORIZED DAIMLERCHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TO ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT FOR PROPER DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. IF YOU HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP BUT THE PROBLEM IS NOT YET RESOLVED, SEEKING A SECOND OPINION FROM A DIFFERENT DEALER MAY BE A VIABLE OPTION. THE PROBLEM STARTED WHEN I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AND KEPT BRINGING BACK TO THE DEALER. FAILURE TO FIND PROBLEM. NOTICE A LOT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. BROUGHT CAR TO AN EXPERT AND FOUND THE SUSPENSION WHICH INCLUDES SHOCKS, STRUTS, BRAKES ETC. WERE NOT THE RIGHT PART FOR THIS MODEL. EXPERT CHANGED NECESSARY PARTS AND HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM THERE AFTER. EXPERT DID RESEARCH AND DEALER WANTED TO KNOW WHAT HE DID TO FIX IT AND HE WOULD NOT COMPLY. THEY SHOULD DO THE RESEARCH AND FIX THE PROBLEM. DCX SOLD ME A $30,000 DODGE CHARGER. THEY RECALL THE CAR 4 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE WITH ONLY 8000 MILES AND EXPRESS THAT 75% OF THE ENGINEERING OF THE CAR (THE ENGINE) NEEDS REPLACEMENT. EVERY WEEK FOR 3 WEEKS THE CAR HAS GONE BACK TO THE DEALER. WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER VALUE AND CARE DCX ? *NM
I BOUGHT A NEW '06 DODGE CHARGER R/T A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. CAR HAS ONLY 3,000 MILES AND BRAKES ARE SQUEALING BAD, AND GROOVES IN THE ROTORS. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. *NM
1. IN OCTOBER ONLY 5 MONTHS AFTER BUYING MY '06 CHARGER I NOTICED A LOT OF NOICE COMING FROM THE BRAKES. 2. IN NOVEMBER I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE THAT IT MAINLY SHOULD HAPPEN WHEN IT GETS COLDER. 3. I TOOK IT IN LAST WEEK IN MARCH AND TOLD THEM THAT IT HAS BEEN 75 DEGREES AND UP AND THAT THEY STILL MAKE NOICE AT ANY SPEED. THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY BRAKES. AFTER LOOKING AT OTHER SIMILAR CASES I AM NOW ASSURED THAT THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH OTHER VEHICLES LIKE MINE AND THAT THEY NEED TO FIXED!!
CONSISTENT BRAKE SQUEALING AND MINOR VIBRATING WHEN STOPPING. *NM
INFORMED OUR DEALER THAT THE LEFT-REAR SEATBELT WAS BACKWARDS. A PASSENGER HAD A HARD TIME HOOKING THE SEATBELT. THE DEALER ORDERED A REPLACEMENT SEATBELT AND INSTALLED IT. THIS SEATBELT WAS MANUFACTURED BACKWARDS TOO. CHECKED ALL CHARGERS AND MAGNUMS ON THE LOT AND DISCOVERED THAT ALL LEFT-REAR SEATBELTS ARE BACKWARDS. ALSO CHECKED ANOTHER DEALERS STOCK WITH THE SAME RESULTS. OUR DEALER SAID THAT THEY WOULD INFORM CHRYSLER. IT HAS BEEN SIX MONTHS AND WE HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM CHRYSLER. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED WITH A RECALL.
BRAKE SQUEALING!!! I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER DAYTONA R/T AND I ONLY HAVE ABOUT 9K MILES ON IT. BUT ABOUT A MONTH AGO I NOTICE A SQUEALING ON MY BRAKES. EVERYTIME I COMING OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY, AND AFTER A STOP AT THE LIGHT, ETC.... SEEMS TO HAPPEN ALSO, ABOUT A 40 MPH. SO, I TOOK TO THE DEALER BECAUSE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. AND THEY SAID THAT IS CAUSED BY A PANIC BRAKING. I DON'T DRIVE THIS CAR THE MUCH AND I DON'T BRAKE HARD. BUT YOU WOULD IT THINK THAT A 40K + CAR WOULD HAVE A BETTER BRAKE SYSTEM ON IT, BECAUSE DOESN'T MATTER HOW YOU BRAKE IS A PROBLEM. I REALLY DON'T FEEL SAFE BRAKING. I BOUGHT A DODGE CHARGER IN JUNE 2006 AND STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES IN SEPTEMBER. IT STARTED AS A VIBRATION WHICH NOBODY COULD IDENTIFY. I PAID TO HAVE THE TIRES BALANCED BECAUSE DODGE WOULD NOT COVER IT. THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. I AM NOW SITTING AT 16,000 MILES AND WARPED ROTORS WHICH THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT BECAUSE THEY SAY I AM OVER THE 12,000 MILE BRAKE WARRANTY. I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE ROTORS MYSELF. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR INTERMITTENTLY AFTER REFUELING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,867. .... BRAKE LIGHTS FIRST WENT OUT ON 09/08/2006 UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS ON OUR 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T. DEALERSHIP HAS FIXED THE PROBLEM ON FOUR SEPARATE TIMES. ON 06/03/2007 BRAKE LIGHTS WENT OUT AGAIN AND DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WHEN WE GOT HOME WITH THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ALREADY OUT AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO TRY AND FIX THE PROBLEM, SAYING DODGE/DAIMLER CHRYSLER NEEDS TO STEP IN AND REPLACE THE CAR. AS OF 07/10/2007 OUR DODGE CHARGER R/T SITS IN OUR DRIVEWAY UNABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR WHILE WE GET THE RUN AROUND FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND FROM DODGE/DAIMLER CHRYSLER. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY FOUND THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE LIGHTS; BLOWN FUSE, KINK IN THE WIRING, BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH MODULE, RIGHT BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND 3RD BRAKE LIGHT WAS ARCHING.
