SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING, CAR JUMPS HARD INTO REVERSE AND DRIVE, WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR, CODE U0100, U1120, U0121, U0103, REPLACED COMPUTER AND HAD NO CHANGE OF CONDITION, NO TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TO CHECK FLUID, A MUST TAKE TO DEALER ITEM THAT IS NOT SENSIBLE.
CAR STALLS 5 OR 6 TIMES AT A LOW SPEED OR STOP AFTER FUELING EVERY TIME I FUEL.
AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK AND DRIVING HOME, THE CAR STALLED ON THE STREET IN FRONT OF MY HOME. TOOK 3-4 TIME TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN. COULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT.

I CHECKED YOUR WEBSITE FOR PARTS AVAILABILITY AND FOUND THAT BOTH S43 AND R45 ARE BOTH AVAILABLE. I CALLED FIRKINS IN BRADENTON FL TO SCHEDULE MY REPLACEMENT OF BOTH AIRBAGS, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THEY ONLY HAVE THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG IN STOCK. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR BOTH PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE SO THAT I WOULD ONLY HAVE TO MAKE ONE APPOINTMENT. CAN YOU FIND OUT WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT WILL BE AVAILABLE? THANK YOU.
" TAKATA RECALL" BOUGHT MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER LAST MARCH HAD IT FOR 3 DAYS THE ENGINE BLEW. REPLACED THE ENGINE WITH A V6 2008 2.7 WITH ONLY 57000 . ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER STARTED TO GET THE LIGHTNING BOLT .THEN STALLING WITH THE LIGHTNING BOLT WHILE DRIVING 55MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND IN THE CITY IT ALSO DOES IT AT STOP SIGNS AND SOMETIMES WONT START BACK RIGHT AWAY.. I HAVE NO CODES NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NO WARNING. MY DASH LIGHTS AND HEAD LIGHTS FLICKER ESPECIALLY WHILE DRIVING. WE TRIED EVERYTHING TO FIX THIS I'M VERY SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR ANYWHERES.. PLEASE HELP FIGURE OUT WHATS GOING ON WITH THESE PROBLEMS. WE ALREADY REPLACED THE COMPUTER, GAS PEDAL, SENSORS AND THE ENGINE. MILEAGE ON THE BODY 260000 ON THE SECOND ENGINE 63000.
MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER HEMI POLICE INTERCEPTOR I PURCHASED FROM THE STATE OF OREGON AT 137,000 RANDOMLY DIES. THE LIGHTNING BOLT WARNING LIGHT COMES ON. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL CODE COMES ON. THE CAR HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER AND THE PCM $750 HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE PLUGS $350 HAVE BEEN REPLACED AS WELL. I ALSO GET TCM CODES. MY CAR HAS DIED AT VERY DANGEROUS TIMES, WHEN PASSING OR MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. THE DEALER DOESN'T KNOW WHAT'S CAUSING IT.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER A FUEL FILL UP THE ENGINE WILL STALL SEVERAL TIMES IN FORWARD OR REVERSE. THIS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE ENGINE HAS OPERATED FOR 4 TO 5 MINUTES. THE ENGINE HAS FAILED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES AT INTERSECTIONS AND WHEN PULLING ONTO ROADWAYS...VERY DANGEROUS PLACE TO STALL. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY REPORTS MADE TO THE NHTSB AND DODGE FORUMS ON THIS ISSUE. I JUST HAD MY FUEL CANNISTER REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM REMAINS.
CAR RUNNING FINE. STOPPED AND TURNED OFF ENGINE. 10 MINUTES LATER , CHECKED OIL AND FLUIDS ,STARTED ENGINE AND ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING. EXHAUST SMOKE AND THEN ENGINE QUIT RUNNING. CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN ENGINE FALIURE HAPPENED.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V352000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT A DIAGNOSTIC FEE WOULD BE APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,000.
WHILE MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE MY ENGINE SHUT COMPLETELY OFF; I LOST POWER STEERING AND ALL THROTTLE CONTROL. AFTER PULLING ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE IGNITION ON AND DRIVE AWAY LIKE NORMAL. I HAVE A 5.7L HEMI AND THE CAR HAS 37,700 MILES.
VEHICLE STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING AT TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES. SOMETIMES AFTER REFUELING. MOSTLY AT TIMES WHILE DRIVING 55 OR 60 MPH AND WHILE SLOWING TO TURN CAUSING THE CAR TO LOSE ALL POWERS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, OIL AND ETC ALL COME ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 48,000 ORIGINAL MILES. VERY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING WITH MY PRECIOUS GRANDBABIES IN THE CAR. HAVE HAD TO THE CAR TO TWO DODGE DEALERSHIPS AND THEY CAN NOT FIND A PROBLEM. I HAVE EVEN REPLACE THE COMPUTER AND IT DID NOT CORRECT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER LEVER FAILED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO REMAIN IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER LEVER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 151,000.
TAKATA RECALL FCA HAS YET TO REPAIR MY AIRBAG INFLATORS AS OF 19 MARCH 2017 IN RESPONSE TO TAKATA PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL S43 ISSUED ON 26 MAY 2016. THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO WAIT GIVEN THE SEVERITY OF THE ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL THE SUSPENSION IS SHOT. I AM HAVING TO REPLACE THE MY TIRES DUE TO THE BUSHINGS BEING JUNK AND HAVE ATE MY TIRES AWAY ON THE INSIDE DOWN TO THE METAL DUE TO THE TOE POSITIONING BEING INCORRECT. THE CONTROL ARMS HAVE BEEN CHANGED, BUT I AM IN FEAR THE REAR CAMBER MAY BE COMPLETELY OUT. ALSO, SOMETIMES MY CAR DOES NOT WANT TO TURN OVER, BUT YET THE BATTERY, STARTER AND ALTERNATOR ARE FINE. ALSO, MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS A MESS. I CAN'T ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW UNLESS I SHUT OFF MY AIR OR HEAT. THEN WHEN I TURN ON MY AIR OR HEAT ALL MY INTERIOR LIGHTS GO OUT. PLUS, SOMETIMES MY TACHOMETER DOESN'T WANT TO WORK. I HAVE REPLACED THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, IT IS ALWAYS MAINTAINED, BUT YET I FEEL LIKE I AM ABOUT TO HAVE TO DUMP THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS INTO THIS CHEAPLY MADE SUSPENSION. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL CHARGER OWNERS OF THE SAME YEAR STATING THEY HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES AND IF A RECALL CAN NOT BE DONE THEN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SHOULD BE PUT INTO MOTION. I'M HOPING DODGE WILL GIVE US A CHANCE TO KEEP THEIR CUSTOMERS, BECAUSE AT THIS MORNING I AM READY TO GIVE UP. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A DODGE FAN, BUT THIS TIME, ON MY FAVORITE LOOKING CAR, YOU ALL HAVE DROPPED THE BALL!
WHEN I FILL THE CAR UP AND IT STOPS THE FUEL PUMP AUTOMATICALLY, I CLOSE THE GAS CAP AND START THE CAR. WHEN I DRIVE OFF IT WILL STALL. IT WILL START BACK UP RIGHT AFTER BUT I HAVE BEEN MAKING A TURN AFTER LEAVING THE GAS STATION AND THE CAR HAS STALLED LEAVING ME WITH NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. IT ONLY DOES THIS WHEN I FILL THE CAR UP. BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE I CAN ONLY FILL THE CAR 3/4 OF THE WAY UP.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS) FOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG INFLATOR AND 16V352000 (AIR BAGS) FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INFLATOR. THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
AFTER FILLING THE FUEL TANK AND PULLING INTO TRAFFIC THE CAR STALLS WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS CONSIDERING CARS APPROACHING OR FOLLOWING YOU COULD CRASH INTO YOU . THIS HAPPENS EACH TIME I FUEL UP.
ON FEB 25TH I PUT GAS IN MY VEHICLE, LATER THAT DAY I NOTICED A HIGH GASOLINE SCENT FROM MY CAR. IE; 10 DAYS PRIOR I HAD MY VEHICLE SERVICED AT MY LOCAL ARRIGO DODGE DEALERSHIP. I WAITED UNTIL THE NEXT TO SEE IF THE SMELL HAD GONE AWAY, ASSUMING I HAD PUT BAD GAS IN MY CAR. THE NEXT DAY BEFORE I COULD OPEN MY CAR DOORS I COULD SMELL THE GASOLINE FROM STANDING OUTSIDE MY CAR. STILL ASSUMING I HAD BAD GAS I DECIDED TO DRIVE OUT AS MUCH OF THE GAS AS POSSIBLE. WHEN I REALIZED THE SMELL WOULD NOT GO AWAY, I WENT ONLINE AND DID SOME RESEARCH, WHICH LEAD TO THIS BEING A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE DODGE VEHICLES, I WATCHED MULTIPLE VIDEOS AND READ MULTIPLE COMMENTS. ON FEB 27TH I FOLLOWED SOME STEPS FROM VIDEOS. I TOOK MY BACK SEAT OUT LIFTED THE GUARD AND PULLED OF THE FUEL PUMP COVER, AND LOW AND BEHOLD THERE WAS GAS. THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD. I DRIVE MY MOTHER AND MY DAUGHTER IN MY CAR, ANYTHING COULD HAVE HAPPENED. I CALLED DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE ON FEB 28TH TO REPORT THE PROBLEM TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL, SEEING THAT I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE AND COMPLAINT. DODGE WAS NOT MUCH HELP. THIS PROBLEM THAT DODGE IGNORES HAS COST ME EMOTIONAL DISTRESS AND MORE MONEY THAN I EXPECT TO SPEND TO FIX. DODGE SHOWS NO INTEREST OR CARE IN THIS CASE AS THIS BEING A HAZARD. I AM COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE WAY DODGE IS DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE. THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT I SPOKE WITH DID NOT GIVE ME ANY FOR OF EASE OR COMFORT OR OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE ON HOW THIS CAN BE FIXED. WHILE IT MAY SEEM LIKE AN EASY FIX TO THAT REP, THIS PROBLEM GOES BEYOND JUST FIXING. ITS A FIRE HAZARD AND DODGE NEEDS TO LOOK FURTHER INTO THIS. MAYBE WHEN SOMETHING DRASTIC HAPPENS ON THIS ACCOUNT I GUESS THAT WHEN IT MAY MATTER TO THIS COMPANY. I MY SELF HAVE TAKEN MULTIPLE PICTURES AND VIDEOS.

THE LAST TIME I FILLED UP MY CAR, IT KEPT STALLING AND I WOULD LOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WHILE IN TRAFFIC WITH MY CHILDREN IN CAR. NOT VERY SAFE FEELING. SCARED I WAS GOING TO GET HIT WITH FAMILY IN CAR. IT WOULD START UP BUT IT WOULD KEEP STALLING UNTIL I RAN A FEW GALLONS OUT OF IT. I FILLED IT UP AGAIN TODAY AND NOTICED A SUCKING NOISE COMING FROM GAS TANK. IT STARTED UP THEN STALLED AS I TOOK OFF. SO I PULLED OVER AND KEPT STARTING IT UP EVERY TIME IT STALLED. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR OF NOT STALLING I DROVE HOME AND PARKED IN GARAGE. IT WOULD STALL GOING STRAIGHT AND TURNING.
THE VEHICLE WILL STALL AT A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT. THE LIGHTS WILL FLICKER AND THE GAUGES WILL GO TO THE MAX AMOUNTS AND THEN BACK TO ZERO. THE CAR RESTARTS AND RUNS FINE AFTER THIS HAPPENS, BUT IT KEEPS REOCCURRING.
MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. AFTER REFUELING, MY VEHICLE STALLS ANYWHERE FROM 1-6 TIMES AT RANDOM TIMES. IT HAPPENS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, AND CITY DRIVING. THERE IS A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER (BRAKES AND STEERING INCLUDED) HAD A VERY CLOSE CALL OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS SUPPOSEDLY COVERED BY EXTENDED LIFETIME WARRANTY BUT MY VIN IS NOT "ELIGIBLE" FOR SOME REASON. IN ORDER TO FIX THE ISSUE, THE GAS TANK HAS TO BE REPLACED $1500+ EXPENSE. VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT DODGE ABANDON MY HERE. EVEN THOUGH IM EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE, IM NOT ELIGIBLE BECAUSE MY VIN RANGE MISSED THE LIFETIME WARRANTY.

THEY DID REPLACE FUEL TANK FROM A PREVIOUS RECALL. GOT CAR BACK & IMMEDIATELY STALLED AGAIN. CARRIED CAR BACK & THEY RAN DIAGNOSTIC WHILE DRIVING & CODE CAME UP TO REPLACE COMPUTER. REPLACED & PROGRAMMED COMPUTER & CAR IS STILL DOING IT. DODGE STATES THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.
TWO RECALLS FOR THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS; HOWEVER, NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO REPAIR. DEALER CANNOT PROVIDE ANY DATE OR TIME FRAME WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE.

DROVE THE CAR TO GET A CAR WASH. CAR WENT THROUGH THE CLEANING PROCESS AND THEY WERE GOING TO START TO THE CAR AND IT WOULDN'T START. HAD TO HAVE IT PUSHED TO THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING, AFTER A WHILE THE CAR STARTED BUT IDLED VERY ROUGH AND BLUEISH SMOKE WAS COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST PIPES. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID IT'S A BLOWN HEAD GASKET ALONG WITH VALVES DROPPING INTO THE CYLINDER CAUSING ENGINE FAILURE. NO PRE WARNING AND I WAS VERY RELIGIOUS WITH MAINTENANCE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE FIXED BY DODGE. NOW I NEED TO BUY A NEW CAR.
AFTER FILLING FUEL TANK THE VEHICLE WOULD SPUTTER AND STALL AT STOP LIGHT. ALTHOUGH IT WOULD RESTART IT CONTINUES THIS PATTERN OF STALLING AT STREETLIGHTS OR COMING TO A STOP.
THE DEALER SAYS THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE,,,, I'M TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR,,, I HAVE TO TAKE MY ELDER PARENTS TO DOCTOR .....I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER A YEAR!
ENGINE STALLS SEVERAL TIMES IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING GAS TANK. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU LOOSE STEERING AND POWER BRAKES IN TRAFFIC. THE DODGE DEALER SAYS THAT IT DOES THIS BECAUSE THERE IS GASOLINE IN THE VAPOR CANISTER. I BELIEVE THIS IS BECAUSE SOMETHING IN THE FUEL TANK IS CAUSING FUEL TO GET INTO THE CANISTER WHERE IT DOES NOT BELONG. CHANGING THE CANISTER IS NOT GOING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AND I'M AFRAID TO BUY ANOTHER DODGE OR CHRYSLER.
MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ON ME AS I WAS DRIVING IT. THIS HAPPENED TO ME ON 01/13/17 AS I WAS LEAVING THE GAS STATION (AFTER REFUELING). I WAS MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY AT THE TIME, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE A BLESSING AS I WAS ABLE TO MERGE INTO A SAFE LOCATION ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER READING ABOUT SIMILAR CASES ONLINE, I FOUND THIS TO BE A RECURRING ISSUE IN THE 06 CHARGERS / CHRYSLER MODELS. THIS IS DEFINITELY A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER COMPLETELY DIED ON ME WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH. LUCKILY I WAS ALONE ON A CITY ROAD BUT LOST ALL CONTROL AND FELT I WAS BARLEY BRAKING AND STEERING WAS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. I WAS ABLE TURN EVERYTHING OFF IN THE CAR AND RESTART BUT IT HAPPENED 3 OTHER TIMES WITHIN 2 MILES. AT ONE POINT WHILE TURNING LEFT ON A HIGHWAY IT DIED; I WAS ALMOST TO A POINT TO HITTING OTHER CARS TURNING LEFT IN SAME DIRECTION AND OTHERS BEHIND ME. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE 4 MILES TODAY WITHOUT INCIDENT HOWEVER AFTER RESEARCHING THIS EXACT ISSUE AMONG OTHER CHARGER OWNERS I SEARCHED FOR A RECALL AND NOTHING HAS BEEN SAID BY DODGE. THIS ISSUE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE FROM PERSONAL ACTIONS BUT A FLAW IN A SYSTEM ON THIS MAKE/MODEL. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE BEFORE A FEW YEARS AGO HOWEVER I READ SOMETHING ABOUT A GAS CAP AND FELT IT WAS ISOLATED. AFTER LAST NIGHT AND READING BLOGS TODAY I SEE THAT THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE AND NOT CAUSED BY NOT MAINTAINING A VEHICLE OR BAD DRIVING. THIS IS AN ISSUE IN DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING. HAD THIS HAPPENED IN ANY OTHER DRIVING SETTING DURING RUSH HOUR SOMEONE COULD BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I NOTIFIED DODGE AND REPORTED THE ISSUE BY THEY SAID I WOULD NOT BE CONTACTED AND TO KEEP RECEIPTS IF SOMETHING WAS WRONG IN CASE THEY DO RECALL SOMETHING. MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER COMPLETELY DIED ON ME WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH. LUCKILY I WAS ALONE ON A CITY ROAD BUT LOST ALL CONTROL AND FELT I WAS BARLEY BRAKING AND STEERING WAS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. I WAS ABLE TURN EVERYTHING OFF IN THE CAR AND RESTART BUT IT HAPPENED 3 OTHER TIMES WITHIN 2 MILES. AT ONE POINT WHILE TURNING LEFT ON A HIGHWAY IT DIED; I WAS ALMOST TO A POINT TO HITTING OTHER CARS TURNING LEFT IN SAME DIRECTION AND OTHERS BEHIND ME. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE 4 MILES TODAY WITHOUT INCIDENT HOWEVER AFTER RESEARCHING THIS EXACT ISSUE AMONG OTHER CHARGER OWNERS I SEARCHED FOR A RECALL AND NOTHING HAS BEEN SAID BY DODGE. THIS ISSUE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE FROM PERSONAL ACTIONS BUT A FLAW IN A SYSTEM ON THIS MAKE/MODEL. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE BEFORE A FEW YEARS AGO HOWEVER I READ SOMETHING ABOUT A GAS CAP AND FELT IT WAS ISOLATED. AFTER LAST NIGHT AND READING BLOGS TODAY I SEE THAT THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE AND NOT CAUSED BY NOT MAINTAINING A VEHICLE OR BAD DRIVING. THIS IS AN ISSUE IN DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING. HAD THIS HAPPENED IN ANY OTHER DRIVING SETTING DURING RUSH HOUR SOMEONE COULD BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I NOTIFIED DODGE AND REPORTED THE ISSUE BUT THEY SAID I WOULD NOT BE CONTACTED AND TO KEEP RECEIPTS IF SOMETHING WAS WRONG IN CASE THEY DO RECALL SOMETHING. WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN CORRECTED AFTER ALL THESE REPORTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE TO THIS MANY OF THE SAME VEHICLES? THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I REPORTED IT IN JAN OF 2017 ON SAFERCAR.GOV. NO ACTION OR CONTACT HAS BEEN MADE.

AFTER FILLING UP AT A GAS STATION, THE CAR WILL STALL OUT RANDOMLY AT ALL SPEEDS OF TRAVEL. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS SHT DOWN THE CAR WHILE MERGING ONTO FREEWAY IN FRONT OF SEMI-TRUCKS ONLY TO HAVE POWER STEERING AND PROPULSION STOP. LUCKILY TRUCK WAS PAYING ATTENTION AND HONKED AND SWERVED AROUND, WHILE I RODE OFF ONTO THE SHOULDER. THEN IT RESTARTED, RAN FOR ANOTHER MINUTE AND STALLED AGAIN WHILE TRYING TO GET BACK OFF THE SHOULDER. I ENDED UP LETTING IT IDLE FOR 5 MIN BEFORE BEING ABLE TO MERGE SUCCESSFULLY AND GET HOME. ONLINE I HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE SAYING THEY HAVE SAME OR SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THEIR 2006 DODGE VEHICLES AS WELL. PLEASE HELP TO GET THIS RESOLVED AS THIS COULD HAVE VERY WELL KILLED SOMEONE.
2006 DODGE CHARGER HAS A KNOWN ISSUE INVOLVING VEHICLE STALLING IF THE GAS TANK IS FILLED. DODGE NEGOTIATED A LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR REPAIR OF THIS DEFECT IN LIEU OF A RECALL. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THIS WARRANTY. MY FUEL PUMP HAS FAILED DUE TO CHRONICALLY RUNNING HOT DUE TO INABILITY TO FILL THE GAS TANK. THE FUEL PUMP DESIGN DEPENDS ON THE COOLER TEMPERATURE OF THE GASOLINE IN THE TANK TO KEEP IT COOLED. IN OTHER WORDS, NOT BEING ABLE TO KEEP ADEQUATE GAS TANK LEVELS HAS DIRECTLY LED TO FUEL PUMP OVERHEATING AND FAILURE. DODGE WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF FUEL PUMP REPAIR BUT WILL REPLACE THE FUEL TANK THAT CAUSED THE DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION LEAVING THE PARKING LOT AT. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK, VEHICLE WILL RAPIDLY LOSE RPMS AND STALL WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS. I THEN PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND AM ABLE TO RESTART IT, BUT IT WILL STALL AGAIN WHILE MOVING RIGHT AFTER. THIS CAUSES A LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHICH HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO CRASH MULTIPLE TIMES. I ONLY BOUGHT THE CAR 12 DAYS AGO AND IT HAS DONE THIS MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAVE READ THE MULTIPLE OTHER COMPLAINTS, AND HAVE TRIED TO FIX THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE PCM, BUT THAT DID NOT WORK. OTHERS HAVE SUGGESTED REPLACING THE GAS TANK BECAUSE THE STALL COULD BE CAUSED BY THE VAPOR RECOVERY SYSTEM FAILING FOLLOWING REFUELING. I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE IS RELATED TO NHTSA ACTION PE13016. THE VEHICLE IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS IT WILL STALL WHILE MOVING AND LOSE POWER STEERING. THE PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED ON 11/7/16, AND OCCURRED AGAIN ON 11/15/16, BOTH TIMES AFTER I REFUELED. IT WILL NOT OCCUR IF THE GAS IS BELOW 3/4 FULL. I REPLACED THE PCM ON 11/10/16, BUT THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.

THE IMPACT WAS SEVERE, DEFORMED FRAME RAILS AND WAS DIRECTLY FRONTAL. THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG DEPLOYED, BUT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A SEVERE, DIRECT FRONTAL IMPACT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE IMPACT WAS SEVERE, DEFORMED FRAME RAILS AND WAS DIRECTLY FRONTAL. THE EPROM DATA READ "FRONT PASSENGER OCCUPANT CLASS: UNDETERMINED" EVEN THOUGH AN ADULT FEMALE WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT TRW AUTOMOTIVE U.S. LLC AND KELSEY-HAYES COMPANY ARE THE SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM AND RELATED PARTS THAT FAILED. THE DEALER (MCLNERNEY'S WOODHAVEN CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP LOCATED AT 23940 ALLEN RD, WOODHAVEN, MICHIGAN, 48183) STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS UNDER RECALL; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. (DROPPED VALVE SEAT) I WAS ON MY WAY TO LUNCH WHEN I REALIZED I LEFT AN ITEM IN MY DESK THAT WAS NEEDED. I TURNED AROUND AND HEADED BACK TO THE OFFICE. I PARKED MY CAR, RAN BACK IN TO THE OFFICE AND RETURNED TO MY VEHICLE WITHIN 5 MINUTES. WHEN I TRIED TO START MY ENGINE, IT WOULD NOT START. I ENDED UP HAVING TO GET THE CAR TOWED TO MY LOCAL MACHINE SHOP. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT A VALVE SEAT DROPPED AND THE ENGINE NEEDED REPLACEMENT. MY MECHANIC WAS QUITE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THESE KINDS OF PROBLEMS. AS HE STATED THAT IT HAPPENED VERY OFTEN WITH DODGE HEMI 5.7 ENGINES. HE STATED THAT THE VALVE SEATS WERE MADE OF POOR METAL MATERIAL. HE ALSO STATED THAT CHRYSLER WAS VERY AWARE OF THE DEFECT AND WHAT IT CAN CAUSE. I DID MY RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF THREADS WITH PEOPLE THAT EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I HAD TO BUY A BRAND NEW ENGINE AND SEVERAL OTHER ENGINE PARTS THAT FAILED DUE TO THIS CATASTROPHE. NOT TO MENTION MAJOR LABOR COSTS. *TR
