CANNOT SHIFT VEHICLE OUT OF PARK.
SOME DAYS YOU COME OUT AND CRANK VEHICLE AND IT JUST CUTS OFF ON YOU WILL YOU RUN DOWN THE ROAD IT MAKES A BEEP NOISE AND CUTS OFF ON YOU IF YOU STOP AT A LIGHT IT CUTS OFF ON YOU THIS HAPPENS RECENTLY ALMOST EVERYDAY
AFTER DROPPING MY DAUGHTER AT SCHOOL THAT DAY IN MY CAR, I WENT HOME AND PARKED THE VEHICLE IN MY DRIVEWAY. WHEN I WENT TO PICK HER UP THAT AFTERNOON MY CAR WOULD NOT TURN OVER. IT NEVER LEFT MY DRIVEWAY BEFORE IT WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC. DODGE HEMI 5.7 L ARE NOTORIOUS FOR PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THE VALVE SEAT DROPS INTO THE PISTON CAUSING CATASTROPHIC AND SUDDEN ENGINE FAILURE. THE REASON FOR MY COMPLAINT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE COST INVOLVED TO REPLACE MY TRANSPORTATION. THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN SAID AND DONE. THE REASON FOR THIS COMPLAINT IS THE THOUGHT THAT MY CAR'S ENGINE HAPPENED TO FAIL MINUTES BEFORE MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE CAR. HONESTLY, IF THE ENGINE FAILURE WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION, WHETHER IT BE IT IN A 20 MPH SCHOOL ZONE OR ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH TO HER FAVORITE STORE TO GET A TREAT AFTER SCHOOL; I PROBABLY WOULD'VE NOT KNOWN WHAT TO DO. THIS DEFECT COULD HAVE VERY WELL CAUSED A WRECK HURTING ME MY EIGHT-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER AND POSSIBLY OTHER PEOPLE. I TRULY JUST DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO SOMEONES LITTLE GIRL OR ANYBODY. CAN YOU PLEASE RESEARCH AND INVESTIGATE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED OR HURT? IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT AND DODGE IS HOLDING NO RESPONSIBILITY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
THE CAR STALLED AS I WAS DRIVING. I HAVE LOOKED UP THIS ISSUE BEFORE AND PEOPLE HAVE SAID IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FUEL TANK. A DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED THE FUEL TANK A FEW MONTHS BACK AND TODAY IT STALLED AGAIN. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE REPLACING THE FUEL TANK. IT APPEARS THIS IS A BIGGER PROBLEM THAN JUST THE FUEL TANK. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL PLACED BEFORE PEOPLE ARE SERIOUSLY HURT AND/OR KILLED. THE CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. IF IT IS ON THE FREEWAY THEN IT'LL BE CATASTROPHIC ON WHAT CAN HAPPEN. THE CAR ALSO LOSES STEERING WHEN IT SHUTS OFF CAUSING A BIGGER PROBLEM.
EVERY TIME I GET GAS AND START THE ENGINE, IT JERKS AND DIES AFTER DRIVING A FEW HUNDRED FEET. I START IT AGAIN AND IT KEEPS DOING THE SAME THING REPEATEDLY. I'M AFRAID TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO JUST STOP RUNNING. I FEEL THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION. IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS NOW. LAST NIGHT WAS THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING WENT OUT IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. DURING THAT TIME, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE THERMOSTAT WAS LEAKING ANTIFREEZE. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT CERTAIN VEHICLES WERE ON A RECALL LIST FOR THE THERMOSTAT. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,050.
THERE IS DETERIORATION IN THE UPPER PARTS OF THE FILLER PIPE. THE VENT (CAN'T RECALL THE PROPER NAME) CAUSES THE SENSORS TO THINK THAT GAS IS OVERFILLING WHICH SHUTS OFF THE CAR (LIKE SOME CARS THAT WILL NOT START IF THE GAS CAP IS NOT ON COMPLETELY.) REPLACING THIS PART WILL NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM LONG TERM.
2006 DODGE CHARGER DAYTONA R/T 5.7 HEMI VALVE SEAT DROPPED AT 144K MILES. ALWAYS DEALER SERVICED. ALWAYS ON SCHEDULE, PLUGS, OIL AIR FILTER EVERYTHING. ISSUE LEADING UP TO IT WAS RANDOM MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRE STEMMING FROM FAULTY WATER TEMP SENSOR, WHICH WAS FIXED. DROPPED VALVE SEAT WHEN BRIEFLY TURNING OF VEHICLE AFTER DROPPING FAMILY HOME PRIOR TO GOING TO WORK. MOTOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. JUST PRIOR TO FAILURE SPENT AROUND $4K TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WAS RUNNING PERFECT. MECHANIC HAD TOLD ME THE CAR WAS IN PERFECT RUNNING ORDER AND COMPRESSION WAS LIKE IT WAS ALMOST BRAND NEW. ENGINE SHOULD HAVE EASILY MADE IT TO 250K MILES. CONTACTED CHRYSLER WHO PRETTY MUCH LIED AND TOLD ME THIS WAS NOT A COMMON OCCURRENCE. DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO HELP ME TOWARDS THE REPAIR. IF THIS VALVE SEAT DROPPED 30 SECONDS EARLIER, IT WOULD HAVE LOCKED UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY PUTTING THE LIVES OF MY FAMILY AND MYSELF AT RISK. THIS IS A WIDESPREAD AND KNOWN ISSUE AND CHRYSLER IS NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS A DISGRACE.
EVERY TIME I FILL CAR WITH FUEL RIGHT AFTER FUELING IT DIES . SOMETIMES 2-3 TIMES. CAN BE HARD TO RESTART. ALREADY REPLACED EVAP SOLENOID DID NOT CORRECT. THIS IS KNOW ISSUE WITH FCA VIN RANGE SHOULD BE EXPANDED.
HEADLIGHTS AND DASH RANDOMLY FLICKER AND SHUT OFF WHILE CAR IS ON AND WHILE DRIVING. TESTING INDICATES THE PROBLEM IS IN THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH OR WIRING TO THE SWITCH. WHEN HEADLIGHT SWITCH REMOVED, HEADLIGHTS ARE IN ALWAYS ON MODE, AND THERE IS NO FLICKERING OR SHUTTING OFF. HEADLIGHT SWITCH MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED AND STILL FLICKERS WITH NEW SWITCH/KNOB. DEALER UNABLE TO FIND AND FIX ISSUE DUE TO INTERMITTENT NATURE OF PROBLEM. SEVERE PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING AND NIGHT AND LIGHTS TURN OFF. PROBLEM ALSO IS IRRITATING AS IT LOOKS LIKE I AM FLASHING MY LIGHTS AT OTHER VEHICLES.
AFTER EVERY TIME I FILL UP THE GAS (NOT TOP OFF)THE CAR STALLS OUT
AFTER I FILLED UP ON GAS I DROVE OUT OF THE STATION AND A BLOCK LATER WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH MY CAR COMPLETELY TURNED OFF AND THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON. I COULD NOT STEER OR BRAKE. I GOT OUT OF THE ROAD PUT IT IN PARK AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. I DECIDED TO DRIVE TWO BLOCKS FARTHER TO THE OIL CHANGE PLACE AND IT DID IT AGAIN JUST DIED WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY STREET BUT STARTED RIGHT UP. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO COULD NOT FIND ANY CODES OR ANY PROBLEMS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN. *TT *TR CONSUMER STATED UPON REFUELING AND PULLING OUT OF THE GAS STATION, CONSUMER'S CAR STARTED TO STRUGGLE WITH POWER, THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES SEEMED TO BE SEVERLY REDUCED, AND THEN THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. HAPPENED SECOND TIME. CONSUMER GOOGLED AND FOUND "2006 DODGE CHARGER STALLS AFTER FUELING" UPDATED 9/4/18*JB
FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS WHEN I FILL UP OR TOP OFF IN GAS, AS SOON AS I START TO DRIVE THE CAR EITHE STALLS OR COMPLETELY CUT NOT WHILE DRIVING. I'M BIEBER HAS HAPPENED WHILE IN THE HIGHWAY AFTER FUELING UP AS WELL AS ON THE CITY STREETS. DUE THIS MALFUNCTION, I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED.
MY DODGE CHARGER CUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING OR WHILE SITTING AT STOP LIGHTS. I AM ABLE TO START UP AGAIN BUT THEN IT SHUTS OFF AT THE NEXT STOP LIGHT OR WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. THERE IS NO TROUBLE CODES OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS.
AFTER FILLING UP, MY CAR ENGINE STALLS. I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT IT. I LOOKED IT UP ON YOUR SITE AND INDEED FOUND PE13016 BUT DISAGREE WITH THE FINDING BEING THAT IT IS A LOW SAFETY ISSUE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHERE I WOULD BE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND THE ENGINE STALLS AND SHUTS OFF AND THE STEERING LOCKS UP WHERE I CAN'T STEER THE CAR WHATSOEVER. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT IT WAS DUE TO A FUEL VAPOR LOCK IN WHICH THE EVAP VALVE STAYS OPEN AND DUE TO IT, THE ENGINE RUNS RICH BECAUSE OF THE FUEL. I WAS TOLD NOT TO OVERFILL IN WHICH I HAVE STOPPED, HOWEVER, THIS HAPPENS JUST BY FILLING UP. I HAVE HAD TO REV THE ENGINE TO BURN OFF GAS UNTIL THE ENGINE STOPS STALLING. EVERY TIME, I'VE STOPPED TRAFFIC IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND IT HAS HAPPENED AT NIGHT AS WELL WHERE VISIBILITY IS LOW AND ALMOST GOT HIT BECAUSE MY CAR STALLED. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED RIGHT BEFORE TURNING IN A BUSY INTERSECTION AND THANKFUL THAT IT HAPPENED RIGHT BEFORE I MADE THE TURN. EVERY TIME IT HAS HAPPENED I'VE BEEN IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AND A FEW TIMES ON A HIGHWAY BUT EVERY TIME I WAS ABOUT TO TURN. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, I DIDN'T KNOW AND GOT THE TOW TRUCK TO TOW THE CAR AND HAD THE POLICE TO COME BEHIND ME BECAUSE IN HIS WORDS, I WAS IN AN UNSAFE LOCATION, SO THAT NO OTHER ONCOMING VEHICLES WOULD HIT ME. THE DATE THAT I PLACED ON WHEN IT HAPPENED IS THE LAST DATE IT HAS HAPPENED THUS FAR AS OF THIS WRITING.
SHORTLY AFTER FILL UP THE CAR WILL DIE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER FILLING UP AND IT HAS HAPPENED AFTER MULTIPLE FILL UPS. THE CAR WILL START MOVING AND I WILL BEGIN DRIVING WHEN THE CAR DIES AND I LOSE POWER STEERING. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID THAT IT IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE WITH 2006 DODGE CHARGERS. THE FUEL TANK AND THE EVAP CANISTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
VEHICLE STALLS AFTER FILLING UP, ESPECIALLY ON TURNS AT SLOW SPEED. IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES INTERMITTENTLY.
MY CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE OVER 40MPH. I WENT TO THE MECHANICS AND IT SAID THAT THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER ISN'T FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. I LOOKED UP THIS ISSUE ONLINE AND THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THESE CARS. I CONTACTED DODGE THEY SAID SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL THEN THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING.
THERE IS SOMETHING GOING ON WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHICH CAUSES THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TO COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AND LIGHTS TO FLICKER WHEN DRIVING. USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN CAR HEATER IS ON OR DRIVING FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. I HAVE A VIDEO OF THE ISSUE AND SHOWED IT TO CERRITOS DODGE SERVICE DEPARTMENT BUT THEY DIDNT ACKNOWLEDGE ISSUE.
TWO YEARS AGO I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON AND IT LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. YESTERDAY WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65 MPH THE CAR LOST POWER. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY.
CAR STALL 3-4 TIMES AFTER REFUELING THEN RUNS FINE UNTIL NEXT REFUELING

THE DEALER (STERLING CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 5504 I-49 FRONTAGE RD, OPELOUSAS, LA 70570, (337) 942-1241) AND THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE REMAINED PARKED AT THE CONTACT'S HOUSE WITH NO REPAIRS COMPLETED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
PUMP A FULL TANK AND THE CAR STALLS AT LOW RPM ON A CITY STREET WHEN IN MOTION AND NOT IN MOTION HAPPEN ABOUT 6 TIME AFTER I PUT A FULL TANK BEEN GOIN ON FOR ABOUT A MONTH
DRIVING IN ALL TYPES OF CONDITIONS, ENGINE RANDOMLY OVERHEATS. HAVE REPLACED THERMOSTAT - TWICE, RADIATOR, HEATER CORE, COOLANT FLUSH - TWICE, PRESSURE TEST, RADIATOR HOSE, WATER PUMP. STILL OVERHEATING AND BECOMING MORE AND MORE FREQUENT.
THERES SEEMS TO BE A SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHICH CAUSE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TO COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AND LIGHT TO FLICKER WHEN DRIVING. USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN CAR HEATER IS ON OR DRIVING FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. DEALER WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ISSUE VERY KNOWN PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET BOARDS WITH CHARGER OWNERS.
WE HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER RT DAYTONA 'TOP BANANA'. CAR WAS DRIVING FINE TIL ONE DAY MY MOM DROVE HOME FROM TRAIN STATION (LESS THAN 5 MILES). SHE WENT IN TO CHANGE CLOTHES THEN WENT TO LEAVE AGAIN. CAR WOULDN'T START UP, LOUD BANGING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER HOOD AS WELL AS ENGINE APPEARED TO BE SHAKING VIOLENTLY. HAD TOWED TO SHOP. ONCE THERE, CAR STARTED TO SMOKE AND SHOP SAID THERE WAS HOLE IN THE PISTON AND ENGINE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. SHOP ESTIMATE WAS 7,000 TOTAL. COULD NOT AFFORD AT THE TIME SO THE CAR SAT IN OUR DRIVEWAY FOR MONTHS.CAR JUST HAD NEW REBUILT ENGINE, AS WELL AS NEW INTAKE MANIFOLDWATER PUMP, AND OTHER NEW PARTS THAT WERE DAMAGED DUE TO THE ENGINE . I WILL INCLUDE PHOTOS OF THE ENGINE ETC.
STARTED ENGINE AND VIOLENTLY STARTED SHAKING AND THEN SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AN RESTARTED FINE. WHILE MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY ON RAMP MOMENTS LATER THE CAR SHUT OFF AND WAS UNABLE TO START AGAIN. THE VEHICLE HAD TO GET TOWED ON THE HIGHWAY ON RAMP. ENGINE HAS BEEN DEEMED UNFIX-ABLE BY AUTOMOTIVE SHOP AN A NEW ONE MUST BE USED TO REPLACE IT.
WHEN I FILL UP THE GAS TANK OF MY VEHICLE, STARTS PROPERLY AND RUNS GOOD FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN STALLS, PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, START AGAIN AND RUNS FINE FOR A FEW MORE MINUTES AND THEN IT DOES IT AGAIN, VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY, IT HAPPEN ALSO TWICE WHEN TURNING AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT ALMOST RAN OUT OF THE ROAD THE FIRST TIME AND THE SECOND HAD TO APPLY BRAKES HARD IN ORDER TO AVOID COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE, VERY UN-SAFE AND DANGEROUS. WHEN DRIVEN ABOUT 40-60 THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY AND THEN STARTS ALL OVER WHEN GAS TANK IS FILLED UP AGAIN. I DO NOT HAVE PHOTOS, POLICE REPORT OR ANY OTHER DOCUMENTATION TO UPLOAD AND HOPE NOT TO HAVE ANY TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED.
2004 TO 2008 JEEP DODGE CHRYSTLER 5.7 HEMI MOTORS ARE PRONE TO DROPPING VALVE SEATS WHICH IN TURN SHOOT FRAGMENTS OF METAL THROUGHOUT DESTROYING THE MOTOR. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN DEFECT WITH NUMEROUS DOCUMENTAION ONLINE. THE DESTRUCTION OF THE MOTOR CAN OCCUR WHILE DRIVING OR ON FIRST START UP. THE COST TO REPLACE THE MOTOR CAN RANGE FROM 5,000 TO 7,000 IN REPAIR COST TO THE CONSUMER.
TAKATA RECALL MY MOTOR DROP A VALVE INSIDE THE BOTTOM OF THE MOTOR CAUSING IT TO DESTROY THE MOTOR THERE IS A DEFECT ON 06 5.7 LITERS THERES A COMPONENT THAT DOESN'T PUSH OUT ENOUGH OIL TO EVENLY DISTRIBUTE TO ALL THE VALVES I HAVE TAKING THIS CAR TO TIRE PLUS I HAVE TAKING IT TO AMACCO BRANDON AUTO SALVAGE AN EVERY MECHANIC HAS SAID THE SAME THIND THE MANUFACTURER KNOWS THE MOTOR HAS DEFECT INSTEAD OF CORRECTING THE PROBLEM THEY ARE WAITING FOR THISTO JUST BLOW OVER. ITS UNFAIR I HAD THIS CAR FOR 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE MOTOR DIED 5000 TO FIX THIS I CANT AFFORD TO FIX IT AN ME AN MY FAMILY ARE STUCK CATCHING THE BUS . I HAD THE CAR IN MY DRIVE WAY RAN IN THE HOUSE WHILE THE CAR WAS RUNNING AN CAME OUT TGE ENGINE WAS MAKING A LOUD GRINDING SOUND. PLEASE HELP US THESE COMPANIES STAY SCREWING THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD OVER

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MULTIPLE INDEPENDENT MECHANICS FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS NOT BEING DRIVEN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING AFTER FILLING GAS TANK TO FULL, VEHICLE STALLED TWICE ON WAY HOME. BOTH OCCURRENCES HAPPENED WITHIN A 5 MINUTE PERIOD. BOTH OCCURRENCES HAPPENED WITH THE VEHICLE IN MOTION, ON A CITY STREET.
I PARKED VEHICLE. WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE TO SHIFT THE GEAR, IT WOULD NOT MOVE. ALSO WHEN I BLOW THE HORN IT GETS STUCK OR DOES NOT WORK AT ALL AFTER AIRBAGS WERE REPLACED BECAUSE OF RECALL. CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN A PARKING LOT SINCE.

ON AUGUST 31ST I WENT TO THE BANK AND WHEN I CAME OUT THE BANK THE CAR TURNED ON AND START MAKING NOISE I NEED TURN OFF RIGHT AWAY I COULD NOT TURN IT BACK ON I HAVE IT TOWED TO MY HOUSE I CHECK ON THE INTERNET FOR WHAT HAPPENED TO ME AND IT SEEMS THAT THERE'S MANY MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TALK TO SOMEBODY WHERE THE MECHANIC PLACES AND THEY TELL ME THAT THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED A LOT OF THESE PROBLEMS THAT IS KIND OF COMMON ON THIS KIND OF CARS ESPECIALLY FOR THAT YEAR 2006 SO IT SEEMS LIKE DODGE KNOWS WHAT'S GOING ON BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE YET I WILL APPRECIATE IT IF YOU COULD GET HELP TO FIX MY CAR HAS LESS THAN A HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES AND IT'S JUST SITTING ON MY DRIVEWAY
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON THE FREEWAY AND HAD TO CHANGE LANES TO GO AROUND A SLOWER VEHICLE. AS I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IT SNAPPED OFF AND FELL ON THE FLOOR CAUSING A HAZARDOUS CONDITION AS I COULD NO LONGER CONTROL THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME BY LEANING DOWN AND DEPRESSING THE PEDAL WITH MY HAND WHILE HOLDING ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL WITH THE OTHER. I CONTACTED DODGE TO TRY AND GET REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIR THAT I MADE MYSELF BUT THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS CONTAINED IN ON LINE FORUMS ABOUT THIS HAPPENING TO THE SAME AND/OR SIMILAR CHRYSLER VEHICLES.
GEAR SHIFTER FROZEN IN PARK, RELEASE BUTTON DID NOT WORK HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED ON FLAT BED AIR BAG LIGHT STILL ON EVEN AFTER AIR BAG RECALL
CAR KEEPS STALLING RANDOMLY AT STOPS. IT WILL EVEN STALL WHILE DRIVING GOING UP HILLS OR ON THE HIGHWAY. MOST TIMES IT WILL NOT COMPLETELY STALL (STUDDER) AND CONTINUE ON. IF IT DOES STALL COMPLETELY, SOMETIMES TAKES A LOT OF EFFORT TO TRY AND RESTART THE ENGINE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL SOMETIMES COME AND RANDOMLY TURN OFF. DTC SHOWS P0700 AND U0100. LOTS OF OTHERS HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. JUST GOOGLE CODES AND LOOK AT ALL DODGE/CHRYSLER/JEEP FORUMS.
HAS A BLOWN MOTOR AND AFTER HAVING IT CHECKED BY A MECHANIC IT HAS BEEN DETERMINE AND TOLD TO ME THAT IT WAS A BAD DESIGN FROM DODGE THIS PARTICULAR YEAR WITH THE CHARGER ENGINES BECAUSE OF THE PLASTIC CAVE SEATS MELTING AND NOT ALLOWING THE OIL TO FLOW TO THE BOTTOM HALF OF ENGINE AND CAUSING SEVERE DAMAGE LIKE MY ENGINE. TRANSMISSION STUCK IN PARK, SAFETY RELEASE SWITCH DOES NOTHING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON IN ORDER FOR IT TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CERRITOS DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (18803 STUDEBAKER RD CERRITOS, CA 90703, (888) 879-5229) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVIEWAY, PARTIALLY BLOCKING IN OTHER VEHICLES IN GARAGE, AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTER COULD NOT BE MOVED OUT OF PARK ON THE MORNING OF 6/29/17, STRANDING VEHICLE FROM BEING MOVED BY OWNER. I THEN LOOKED ONLINE USING GOOGLE SEARCH AND FOUND PROBLEM LISTED UNDER CHRYSLER RECALL OF SOME 2005-2007 CHARGER/MAGNUM/300 MODELS, AND FOUND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO TEMPORARILY INSERT SCREWDRIVER INTO SIDE OF TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY BY REMOVING ONE PIECE OF TRIM, AND WAS ABLE TO THEN DRIVE OVER TO DARCARS CHRYSLER/JEEP/DODGE ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND DEALERSHIP TO DROP FOR RECALL REPAIR. I LEFT VEHICLE AND THEN WAS TOLD BY SERVICE DEPT STAFF NEXT DAY ON 6/30/17 THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT PART OF RECALL, AND WOULD COST ME $510 OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER ASSEMBLY RATHER THAN REPLACE THE SMALL CHEAP PLASTIC KNOWN CHRYSLER DEFECT THAT HAS PROBABLY ALREADY HAPPENED TO THOUSANDS OF CHARGERS/MAGNUMS/300S. LUCKY FOR ME THIS DID NOT HAPPEN IN AN EMERGENCY SITUAITON WHERE I NEEDED TO MOVE MY CAR IMMEDIATELY TO GO TO HOSPITAL, OR AVOID A FLASH FLLOOD, HURRICANE, OR TORNADO OR THE PROBLEM COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A TOTAL LOSS OF THE VEHICLE AND POSSIBLE INJURY OR LOSS OF LIFE. IN ADDITION, I DID MORE RESEARCH AND FOUND THE $16 PART ONLINE NEEDED TO FIX THE PROBLEM, ALONG WITH MANY VIDEOS ON HOW TO FIX IT YOURSELF, AND ORDERED IT ON 6/30/17 AND HAD THE CAR REPAIRED MYSELF AT HOME ON 7/2/17 A FEW HOURS AFTER RECEIVING THE PART IN THE MAIL. CHRYSLER SHOULD MAKE THIS A RECALL FOR ALL AFFECTRED VEHICLES BECAUSE THE COST TO REPAIR IT IN PARTS AND LABOR IS VERY CHEAP, SINCE I ESTIMATE THEY COULD DO THE SAME JOB IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES AND THE PART WOULD ONLY COST THEM MAYBE UNDER $5. SEE ATTACHED RECALL AND $16 PART COST WHEN ORDERED ON AMAZON.

TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC.. HE SAID I HAD A BROKEN SEAT VALVE, EVERYTHING DAMAGED...NEED TO REPLACE ENGINE. AFTER LOOKING UP ONLINE IT SEEMS IT IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH THE HEMI ENGINE FROM 2005-2006.

THE CAR STALLS AT LOT IN LOW RPMS AND HESITATES ALOT, CAR SHUTS OFF AND STEERING WHEEL LOCK MAKING THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, TANK IS 19 GALLOS, ONCE YOU WASTE 1-2 GALLOS OF GAS EVERYTHING GOES BACK TO NORMAL, HAVE CHANGE ALREADY PURGE VALVE IN FRONT OF THE CAR, ALSO THE EVAP LEAK DETECTION PUMP AND NOTHING, EVERYONE ONLINE HAS THIS PROBLEM AND NO ONE HAS A FIXED. NO ENGINE LIGHTS COMES ON, SOMETIMES A MISFIRE, CHANGED MAP SENSOR, CAMSHAFT SENSOR, CRANK SENSOR, MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR, SPARK PLUGS WIRES, INJECTORS AND PLUGS AND STILL THE SAME. WHEN I RUN TORQUE APP FROM ANDROID STORE IT SAYS EVAP CAP OFF ON RED, LIKE THAT TEST IT NEVER PASS. SOMETHING WITH GAS RELATED I GUESS
