TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER SEIZED IN THE PARK POSITION. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. HORN STARTS BLOWING WHILE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND NO KEYS IN THE IGNITION AND DRAINS THE BATTERY. MOST RECENT WAS SUNDAY JUNE 5TH 2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 2AM WHILE I WAS ASLEEP IN BED. THE NEIGHBORS WERE NOT HAPPY.
ON THE NIGHT OF JUNE 3, 2016 I PARKED MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T IN MY DRIVE AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. I WENT BACK OUT TO LEAVE AGAIN AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. AFTER CHECKING FOR ANY COMPUTER ISSUES I HAD THE CAR TOWED MY THE DEALERSHIP. THEY PERFORMED TESTS AND DETERMINED THAT MY INTAKE VALVE SEAT IN MY #1 CYLINDER DROPPED AND CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STOP RUNNING. THE DEALERSHIP WANTED TO CHARGE ME $3200 TO REPLACE THE CYLINDER HEAD. I CHOSE NOT TO HAVE THEM PERFORM THE WORK, INSTEAD I REMOVED THE CYLINDER HEAD AND TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MACHINE SHOP WHERE THE FIXED THE ISSUE ON THE CYLINDER HEAD AND I WAS ABLE TO INSTALL IT BACK INTO MY VEHICLE AND GET IT RUNNING AGAIN. THIS ISSUE STILL COST ME OVER $1200.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
I DROVE MY CHARGER OUT TO LUNCH, WAS RUNNING IMPECCABLE, AFTER HAVING MY MEAL, WE GOT BACK IN THE CAR, TRIED STARTING IT, IT SOUNDED LIKE A HARD, DIFFICULT START AND ONCE IT IGNITED THE CYLINDERS, THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING HORRIBLE BANGING NOISES, AND KILLED ITSELF. THERE WAS NO WARNING, NO OVERHEATING, MY CAR HAS 88,000 MILES ON IT. I'VE ALWAYS TAKEN EXTREMELY GOOD CARE OF IT, AS I SHOULD KNOW HOW TO BEING A MECHANIC. I PULLED THE MOTOR OUT OF THE CAR, AND OPENED IT UP TO FIND A DESTROYED COMBUSTION CHAMBER, AND A DESTROYED PISTON. THERE ARE MUCH MORE UNRELIABLE CARS OUT THERE THAT CAN MAKE IT PAST 88,000 MILES WITHOUT SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE. SO DOES THAT MAKE DODGE THE MOST UNRELIABLE MANUFACTURER? IF DODGE DOES NOT ASSIST IN FIXING THE PROBLEM (A PARTIAL REFUND TO HELP COVER THE MASSIVE COST) I WILL NEVER BE BUYING ANOTHER DODGE. UPLOADED IS A PICTURE LOOKING DOWN THE INTAKE PORT OF THE DRIVERS SIDE 6TH CYLINDER. THE OTHER PICTURE IS OF THE PISTON DAMAGE. THIS IS AN RT CAR WITH 5.7 HEMI.
THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF RANDOMLY, THE ERROR CODE KEEPS POINTING BACK TO THE ECM AND I HAVE HAD THAT REPLACED NOW IT IS DOING IT AGAIN AND THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN IT HAPPENS ON THE FREEWAY IT JOLTS LIKE IT WANTS TO SHUTOFF BUT IT DOESN'T THE RPM'S GO DOWN AND IT REVS BACK UP, IT STARTED JUST WITH IT HAVING THE RPM'S GO DOWN AND REV BACK UP RANDOMLY AND ITS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 2 YEARS NOW IT JUST SHUTS OFF AND STARTS BACK UP IMMEDIATELY BUT SOMETIMES ILL DRIVE A COUPLE FEET AND IT WILL DIE AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP FOR THE LAST 8 MONTHS. THEY HAVE SENT THE COMPUTER BACK TO HAVE IT ANALYSED AND TO REPAIR THE NEW ONE I GOT NOW. WHEN DRIVING IT ALSO SHUTS OFF AND THEN JUST STARTS UP BACK BY ITSELF. I SEE THIS EVERYWHERE ON THE INTERNET AND FORUMS, SOME SAY ECM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED OTHER SAY THE FUEL TANK AND THE OTHER SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THE KEY FOB NOT RECOGNIZING THE KEY. I WANT THIS INVESTIGATED AND A RECALL TO BE ISSUED. FROM EVERYONE I HAVE SPOKEN TO EVERY SINGLE 2006 DODGE CHARGER HAS THIS PROBLEM WITH THE 5.7 LT WITH THE HEMI.

HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD ISSUES WITH THEIR BRAKES SEEMING TO LOCK UP AND AIRBAG LIGHT IN DASH COMING ON AFTER R25 RECALL REPAIR???? DEALER REFUSES TO ADDRESS THESE PROBLEMS WITHOUT ME PAYING FOR DIAGNOSITICS TO BE RUN FIRST & I DON'T HAVE $100+ TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. THESE ISSUES STARTED THE DAY I DROVE IT HOME AFTER GETTING THE RECALL REPAIRED.... .. HELP?!?!! I PAID FOR NEW BRAKES BC I FIGURED IT COULD BE STRICTLY COINCIDENCE, BUT THE LIGHT & BEEPING TOO?!? PULLED IN TO GAS STATION BECAUSE MY GAS LIGHT CAME ON WITH MY WIFE AND 3 OF MY CHILDREN, ONE BEING ONLY 1 YEAR OLD, AND A TRUNK FULL OF FRESH MEATS AND FISH FROM THE MARKET ON A HOT GA DAY 45 MILES FROM HOME, PUT IN $30 WORTH OF GAS WHICH ALMOST FILLED IT UP, WENT TO START MY CAR AND IT STARTED JERKING, CLICKING AND SHAKING REAL BAD BEFORE IT JUST DIED. AS SCARY AS IT WAS THAT THIS WAS HAPPENING I TRIED TO START AGAIN AND GOT THE SAME RESULT. WITH THIS KIND OF LOAD AND A BABY ON A HOT DAY, BROKE AND NO OTHER WAY HOME, I TRIED A FEW MORE TIMES UNTIL IT STOPPED TURNING OVER AND JUST MADE A CLICK SOUND, 1 CLICK. A TIRE SHOP GUY ACROSS THE STREET SEEN I NEEDED HELP, DUE TO THE BABY NOW HUNGRY AND CRYING, CAME OVER TO SEE IF HE COULD HELP. AFTER TRYING TO START AGAIN HE SAID MAY BE MY BATTERY, ALTERNATOR OR STARTER SO HE WENT TO THE PARTS STORE AND GOT AN H7 LOANER BATTERY. ONCE INSTALLED TRIED STARTING AND AGAIN IT STARTED JERKING, CLICKING AND SHAKING REAL BAD BEFORE DYING. ANOTHER GUY WALKED OVER TO HELP, AGAIN DUE TO THE BABY CRYING, AND SAID THAT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR FUEL PUMP AND SAID "I HEARD OF PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS WHEN FILLING UP WITH GAS AND THEY(DEALERSHIP) HAVE TO REPLACE YOUR GAS TANK FOR FREE". I HAD TO PAY WELL OVER $100 FOR A TOW TRUCK AND HAD TO PAY A COMPLETE STRANGER TO FOLLOW ME HOME WITH MY FAMILY BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ROOM IN THE TOW TRUCK FOR THEM. I'VE NEVER HAD ISSUES LIKE THIS WITH MY CAR BUT NOW AS I'M RESEARCHING FOR DIY RESOLUTIONS I'M FINDING THAT THERE ARE OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY. I'M NOW OUT OF MONEY. I HAVE 5 CHILDREN AND AM THE ONLY ONE IN MY HOUSE WORKING AND THIS IS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION THAT I AM STILL PAYING A NOTE ON. BY THE WAY, TRIED TO START MY CAR AGAIN AND ITS STILL DOING THE SAME EFFING THING. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING FAST!!!
I WENT AND FILLED MY GAS TANK AND DROVE AWAY FROM STORE ABOUT 200 FEET AND CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING HAD TO PAY 100 DOLLARS TO GET TOWED ONLY 2MILES AWAY FROM LOCAL REPAIR SHOP
FILLED TANK UP WITH GAS DAY BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. DRIVING DOWN ROAD AT 25 MPH THE CAR STALLED. IT WOULD RESTART AND STALL AGAIN.
AFTER REFILLING MY TANK WITH GAS, MY CAR SUDDENLY BEGAN TO STALL. IMMEDIATELY AFTER REFILLING, I STARTED MY CAR AND WITHIN A FEW SECONDS IT SHUT OFF. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS OF STARTING IT AND REMAINING STATIONARY, MY CAR FINALLY REMAINED ON FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES AND I ASSUMED IT WAS SAFE TO BEGIN DRIVING. 5 MINUTES INTO DRIVING ON A CITY STREET THE CAR BEGAN TO JERK AND STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET, FORTUNATELY IT DIDN'T CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT AND TURN INTO THE NEAREST SHOPPING CENTER WHERE I CONTACTED CHRYSTLER, WHO CLAIMED THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS ISSUE. I'VE SEEN A MULTITUDE OF COMPLAINTS WITH SIMILAR, IF NOT THE SAME, ISSUES I CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE.

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.

"TAKATA RECALL" I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WITH MUTABLE CARS. I STRUCK AN SUV IN THE REAR TAILGATE. I HAD THE RECALL AIRBAG REPLACED ON APRIL 25TH 2016 AT CENTRAL AVENUE DODGE CHRYSLER . THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY!!!!! THANK GOD I'M AM NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED. THE CAR IS NOW BACK AT MY HOUSE FOR YOUR INSPECTION. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS. AFTER REFUELING VEHICLE, ENGINE STALLED WHILE MAKING LEFT HAND TURN IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC, LEAVING ME STUCK IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION. ENGINE WILL STALL COMING TO A STOP, ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, TURNING CORNERS, AND A COUPLE TIMES WHILE JUST DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. WHEN YOU RESTART MOTOR, TRANSMISSION WILL NOT REENGAGE RIGHT AWAY. DOESN'T SEEM TO HAPPEN IF YOU KEEP FUEL LEVEL BELOW 14 GALLONS. DODGE DEALERSHIP HAS SAID IT MIGHT BE A VALVE ON TOP OF FUEL TANK. BEEN HAPPENING FOR A WHILE BUT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE BEEN WAITING SEVERAL MONTHS TO GET MY DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS CHANGED. I LIVE IN FLORIDA AND IT IS VERY HOT AND HUMID. MY CAR IS 10 YEARS OLD AND I AM OVER 60 YEARS AGO. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL I CAN GET THIS CHANGED. I HAD TO GET THE PASSENGER SIDE DONE AND WAITED A VERY LONG TIME UNTIL I CONTACTED YOU AND YOU HELPED PUSH IT THROUGH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO FOUND A MANUFACTURER RECALL PERTAINING TO THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE A RECALL NOTIFICATION. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS TOO OLD. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AFTER FUEL WAS ADDED TO THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VILLAGE DODGE, INC. (819 NY-66, HUDSON, NY 12534, (518) 828-1585) AND THE FAILURE WAS REPAIRED. THE STALLING FAILURE HAD NOT BEEN RESOLVED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER SYSTEM MISREAD THAT THERE WAS NO FUEL IN THE TANK. AS A RESULT, ALL THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SHUT OFF. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
MY VEHICLE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE MINI CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THERE IS RECALLS FOR OTHER VIN # BUT MY VIN # IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS BUILD AFTER MARCH 2006. EVEN THOUGH ITS THE SAME VEHICLE PROBLEM THE RECALL DOESN'T COVER MY VEHICLE. I WILL LIKE AN INVESTIGATION REGARDING THIS MATTER.

AFTER FUEL UP, CAR STALLS. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AS I WAS TURNING IN FRONT OF ON-COMING TRAFFIC AND CAR STALLS AND CAR JUST STOPS. WAS ABLE TO HAVE CARS AVOID HITTING ME AND EVENTUALLY STARTED CAR AGAIN - ONLY TO HAVE IT STALL ONCE AGAIN. CAR ONLY HAS 30,000 MILES ON IT FOR A 10 YEAR CAR - THIS IS A LIMITED EDITION DAYTONA. VERY UNHAPPY TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS AND DODGE HASN'T DONE ANYTHING TO REMEDY THIS 'MANUFACTURER FAILURE'! SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING SELLING THIS VEHICLE AND SWEARING OFF ALL DODGE MAKES IN THE FUTURE.......HAVE BEEN A LOYAL DODGE CONSUMER SINCE THE 70'S!
CAR STALLS AFTER GETTING GAS. HAS STALLED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60MPH, AND HAS ALSO STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. HARD TO CONTROL AND NO POWER STEERING WHEN IT STALLS.
DODGE CHARGER STALLS WHILE STOPPED AT STOP SIGNS OR RED LIGHTS LIKE ITS OUT OF GAS. AT FIRST IT WOULD DO IT MAYBE ONCE A WEEK AFTER FILLING UP MY TANK, BUT NOW IT IS SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. MY VEHICLE IS AROUND 137,000 MILES.

CAR CONTINUES TO CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING, MAKES A LOT NOISE AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON DASH CUT ON AND DOES NOT MOVE WHEN IN GEAR.
VEHICLE STALLS WHILE IN MOTION, ENGINE STALLS SHUTS ITSELF OFF ON START UP OR WHILE IN MOTION IN TRAFFIC. LEAVING ME WITH NO POWER TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR STARTING IN JANUARY OF 2016. DODGE DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIND WHY IT STALLS EVEN THOUGH IT STALLED ON THEM WHILE THEY HAD IT IN THERE SHOP. THE REASON FOR THE STALL IS UNKNOWN . NORMAL VEHICLE SERVICING IS UP TO DATE BUT THE CAR STALLING CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM.
VEHICLE TURN OFF AND STALLS WHEN DRIVING 55MPH. TURN OFF AT INTERSECTIONS AND VEHICLE IS HARD TO CONTROL WHEN VEHICLE TURNS OFF.
CAR STALLS WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPED, BUT NOT ALL THE TIME, IT'S VERY ERRATIC. ON OCCASION IT CUTS OUT FOR A SECOND WHILE DRIVING ALONG AT 50 MPH.
TAKATA RECALL - I NEVER RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION THAT I HAD A RECALL ON MY AIRBAGS - I WILL BE LOOKING INTO THIS SHORTLY -- ALSO, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, MY ENGINE STALLS AFTER I REFUEL -- THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS ISSUE BUT APPARENTLY IT HAPPENS A LOT AS I DID SEE THAT THERE WAS AN INQUIRY INTO THIS -- THIS JUST STARTED TO HAPPEN TO MY CAR IN THE LAST 2 YEARS AND SO THEREFORE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY.
WHEN TRYING TO FUEL THE CAR, THE PUMP CONTINUALLY CLICKS OFF LIKE THE TANK IS FULL. WILL ALSO SPIT FUEL BACK OUT WHILE PUMPING (NO MATTER HOW SLOW YOU TRY TO PUMP). I DON'T SEE HOW THIS ISN'T A SAFETY ISSUE.

I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WHILE THERE HAS BEEN NO PARTS MADE AVAILABLE FOR MY VEHICLE. I HAVE STERN CONCERNS ABOUT DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND A POSSIBILITY THE AIR BAG CAN RUPTURE AND I CAN BE HIT WITH PIECES OF METAL.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR.
AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS, THE CAR STALLS/DIES 2-4 TIMES. RESTARTS RIGHT UP BUT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT HAS DIED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, TURNING ONTO OTHER STREETS IN TRAFFIC AND PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOTS INTO TRAFFIC. SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE!
FRONT SUSPENSION WORN AT 45K MILES. REPAIRED AND WARED OUT AGAIN AT 60K MILES.
MY CAR KEEPS STALLING EVEN WHILE DRIVING ABOVE 20 MPH, ESPECIALLY WHILING PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. MY CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR A MONTH WITH NO RESOLUTION. MY CAR IS NOT SAFE.
I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION, TURNING LEFT, AND MY VEHICLE JUST TURNS OFF. VERY UNSAFE FOR A CAR TO TURN OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. LUCKILY THIS DIDN'T CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. 2 OTHER INSTANCES, I WAS TURNING OUT ONTO A BUSY STREET, PULLING OUT OF THE GAS STATION AFTER FILLING UP. IT MAKES ME NERVOUS TO PUT GAS IN THE CAR AND WONDERING WHEN THE CAR WILL DIE OUT. THE SHUTTING DOWN OF THE VEHICLE HAPPENS AFTER EVERYTIME I PUT GAS INTO IT. ITS NOT AN ISSUE OF OVERFILLING THE TANK BECAUSE I,VE BEEN FILLING UP A VEHICLE GAS TANK FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE. EVEN IF I DON'T FILL IT UP COMPLETELY, THIS OCCURS. I HAVE HEARD FROM MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME YEAR CHARGERS. OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE HAVE SAID ITS THE VAPOR PURGE VALVE ON TOP OF THE GAS TANK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT FOUND A RECALL RELATED TO THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN REACHING HIGH SPEEDS. ADDITIONALLY, THE RPMS WOULD CONTINUE TO INCREASE WITHOUT THE ACCELERATION MATCHING THE RPM INCREASE. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OPENED A CASE ON THE CONTACT'S BEHALF AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL RELATING TO THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AND WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND CRASHED INTO SEVERAL VEHICLES. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED CUTS, A BRUISE ON HIS FOREHEAD, AND WHIPLASH THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED ARM, WRIST, AND A CUT UNDER THE EYE THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A POLICE LOT. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

AFTER FIILLING THE GAS TANK OF THE 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T THE CHARGER HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES AFTER LEAVING THE GAS STATION. THE CHARGER WOULD RESTART. THIS IS A VEHICLE SAFETY ISSUE. THE 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T HAS ALSO STALLED OUT ON HIGHWAY ON RAMPS A COUPLE OF TIMES. THE CHARGER WOULD RESTART BUT THE CARS BEHIND WERE NOT VERY HAPPY. THIS IS ALSO TRAFFIC SAFETY PROBLEM.
