22 MAY 2015 OIL PUMP FAILED. TOOK VEHICLE TO DENNIS DILLON DODGE OF CALDWELL IDAHO 26 MAY 2015. REPAIR QUOTED AT $996.00. ACTUAL CHARGE $1816.66. RECEIVED CAR BACK 8 JULY 2015 WITH THUMPING. RE COMPLAINED TO SERVICE 24 JULY 2015. THEY WANTED TO REPAIR UNKNOWN WHICH DID NOT EXIST BEFORE THEIR HANDLING. CONTINUED TO DRIVE UNTIL 11 NOVEMBER 2015 WHEN 1 QUART OF OIL WAS ADDED & VEHICLE BEGAN THRASHING & DIED, REFUSING TO RUN AGAIN. VEHICLE HAS SAT PARKED IN STORAGE AT HOME EVER SINCE. FILED COMPLAINT WITH IDAHO ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE. DENNIS DILLON CFO DUANE SESSIONS REPLIED & LIED COVERING HIS SERVICE MANAGER & MECHANIC. AG OFFICE CEASED FURTHER ACTION.
SEVERAL TIMES WHILE IN MOTION, THE DASH LIGHTS BLINK AND POWER IS LOST. SOMETIMES IT WILL CONTINUE TO RUN AND SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT MOVE. ON OTHER DAYS IT RUNS JUST FINE. THERE ARE NO CODES THAT FLASH AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT STAY ON EXCEPT FOR WHEN THE DASH LIGHTS ARE FLASHING. A SIMPLE SEARCH WILL VERIFY WITH MANY OTHER PEOPLE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING ALOT. IT IS NOT THE FUEL TANK PROBLEM. IT HAPPENS WHILE STILL AND HAPPENS WHILE IN MOTION. A WHILE BACK I WAS TRYING TO CROSS A BUSY INTERSECTION AND IT HAPPEDEN AT THAT POINT. IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A WHILE SINCE ABOUT 50,000 MILES AND WE ARE AT 80,000 NOW.. IT STAYS PARKED ALOT FOR BEING 10 YRS OLD.
AFTER FILLING MY GAS TANK MY CAR STALLED ON THE FREEWAY. THE NEXT TIME I FILLED MY TANK MY CAR STALLED TWICE WHILE DRIVING ON SIDE STREETS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS THE VAPOR PURGE VALVE. I CAN ONLY FILL MY TANK PARTIALLY OR I STALL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE AT A LOW SPEED, ALL THE AIR BAGS IN THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG STRUCK THE CONTACT IN THE FACE, WHICH RENDERED THE CONTACT UNCONSCIOUS. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED CHEST INJURIES AND BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V352000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WILL CUT OFF . THE LIGHTS HAVE FLICKERED OFF AND ON. THE ROOM NEEDLE GOES DOWN LIKES IS CUTTING OFF AND THEN GOES BACK UP. I HAVE THE CHARGER 2006 RT POLICE PACKAGE. THIS HAS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING, TURNING AT CORNER, AND SITTING AT THE LIGHT. THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS.
I HAVE COMPLAINED ON THIS VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES NOW. IT CONTINUES TO HAVE A RANDOMLY STALLING ENGINE WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS IT IS NOT THE GAS TANK. IT HAS FINALLY STARTED CAUSING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON (YAY! IT MIGHT ACTUALLY GET FIXED). JUST KIDDING! THE DEALERSHIP STATES THAT THE CODES THAT SHOW UP ARE GENERAL PCM CODES THAT MEAN NOTHING. FROM ONLINE RESEARCH, IT APPEARS IT MAY BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THE PCM, ECM, OR NUMEROUS OTHER PARTS. EITHER WAY, MOST OF US GO WITHOUT CARS FOR WEEKS WHILE MECHANICS CANNOT FIND THE ACTUAL CAUSE THUS CANNOT FIX A DANGEROUS VEHICLE. MOST OF US DON'T WANT TO DRIVE VEHICLES THAT STALL WHILE GOING 40 MPH.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS) OVER TWO MONTHS AGO AND CALLED THE DEALER FOR MONTHS AND WAS NOT ABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THE DEALER LATER STATED THAT THEY SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE RECALL REPAIR BUT WHEN THE CONTACT ARRIVED FOR THE RECALL REPAIR APPOINTMENT, THE DEALER INDICATED THAT OTHER VEHICLES NEEDED TO BE SERVICED FIRST. THE DEALER DID NOT CONFIRM IF THE PART WAS AVAILABLE SO THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WHEN VEHICLE IS FILLED TO A FULL TANK OF GASOLINE, THE CAR THEN STALLS DURING SHORT DISTANCES. THE STALLING OCCURS RANDOMLY AND IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, THIS POSES A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK TO MYSELF AND ANY OCCUPANTS IN MY CAR ALONG WITH OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THIS BEING A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T'S. I AM NOT OVERFILLING THE VEHICLE, BUT I NEED THIS PROBLEM RESERVED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BEFORE I AM INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THAT IS NOT MY FAULT AND DUE TO MY CAR STALLING FROM A FULL TANK OF GAS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 199,665.
CAR SHUTS OFF AFTER FILLING TANK. HAPPENS EVERYTIME I FILL UP. MECHANIC SAYS IT HAS TO DO WITH THE CHECK VALVE.
MY DASH LIGHTS AND GAUGES INSIDE ALL FLICKER OFF AND ON AND DROP TO ZERO. THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT LOOSES POWER, IT'S VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND NOBODY SEEMS TO HAVE A FIX. FOR IT, NOT A DEFINITIVE ANSWER. MY OUT SIDE LIGHTS WOULD FLICKER ON AND OFF AS WELL, BUT I REPLACED MY LIGHT SWITCH AND IT FEELS LIKE THIS IS JUST A TEMPORARY FIX.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GLASS ON THE SUN ROOF DETACHED FROM THE FRAME AND CAUSED THE SUN ROOF TO LIFT OFF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GLASS AND THE SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER A THIRD TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
AT 105000 MILES I NOTICED THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SEPTEMBER 2015 AFTER FILLING IT THE CAR REPEATEDLY STALLED WHILE IN TRAFFIC, AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHILE GOING AROUND A TURN AT SLOW SPEEDS. ONCE THE TANK WAS AROUND 3/4 FULL I NOTICED IT STOPPING. IT RESTARTED, BUT CAUSED ME TO STOP IN TRAFFIC AND WAIT A SECOND TO PUT IN N OR P TO RESTART AND THEN BACK INTO GEAR. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY HAZARD AND SURPRISED IT HASN'T ELEVATED TO A RECALL. I THOUGHT IT WAS BAD FUEL - THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, 2 FILL UPS LATER IT STILL OCCURRED LEAVING NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR ME TO TROUBLE SHOOT. THAT LEAD ME TO THE INTERNET AND I FOUND INVESTIGATION PE 13-016 WHICH SOUNDS EXACTLY WHAT MY ISSUE IS. I CALLED THE DEALER TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THE RECALLED AIRBAG FIXED. I ASKED THEM TO REMEDY THIS CONCURRENTLY BUT THEY ACTED REAL STUPID ON THE PHONE - I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THE PARTS WERE ON HAND TO FIX IT AT THIS TIME. I HOPE THEY HONOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AS I AM THE ONLY OWNER AND DON'T REMEMBER GETTING THE LETTER SENT TO ME ON THIS MATTER. I AM CURIOUS FROM THIS REPAIR WHAT THEY WILL NOT COVER AND IF THEY WILL OVERCHARGE FOR OTHER ITEMS THAT "THEY FIND". I AM NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT THEY ARE COVERING UNDER THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT OIL LEAKED ONTO THE VALVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND SEVERAL OTHER UNKNOWN INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE A TUNE UP WAS PERFORMED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAM SHAFT AND THE SENSOR HAD FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
I WAS LEAVING A STORE AND STARTED MY CAR. EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR AND CAME HOME AND FOUND A MULTITUDE OF INFORMATION ON THIS PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL CAR. I ALSO FOUND OUT HOW TO TAKE THE CONSOLE APART TO GET IN AND SHIFT THE CAR WITHOUT THE SHIFTING LEVER, SO I WAS ABLE TO GET IT HOME AND DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THIS VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM FOR "CERTAIN 2005-2007 DODGE CHARGERS, MAGNUMS, AND 300S." I HAD THEM REPAIR IT FOR $155. THE DEALERSHIP SHARED WITH ME THAT THEY SERVICE 4-5 VEHICLES A WEEK WITH THIS IDENTICAL PROBLEM THAT WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. THAT IS IN GREENSBORO NC, WHICH IS NOT A SUPER-LARGE MARKET BUT IS NOT A TINY MARKET EITHER. I WOULD LIKE FOR SOMEONE TO EXPLAIN TO ME IN DETAIL WHY MY SPECIFIC CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
AFTER FUELING, LEAVING STATION, TURN CORNER CAR STALLS. STARTS BACK UP DRIVE A LITTLE BIT STALLS AGAIN,TRYING TO PUT INTO GEAR WOULDN'T SHIFT, FINALLY GOT IT HOME. HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ABOUT 2YR AGO, TOOK IT IN HE CLEANED SOMETHING IN THE ENGINE, BILL WAS $400 SOMETHING, NOW HAPPENING AGAIN
I [XXX] WAS DRIVING 37 MPH I COME TO STOP LIGHT LIGHT TURNS GREEN BEFORE I COULD PUT FOOT ON GAS CAR SHUT OFF THIS THE 3RD TIME 2 MONTHS PRIOR I WAS MAKE A RIGHT TURN CAR JUST SHUT OFF THAT THE 2ND TIME 3RD TIME I DROVE TO MALL AND TO BAKERY DROPPED OFF MY FRIEND ON MY WAY HOME AT LIGHT IN TRAFFIC CAR JUST STOPPED. MY WHOLE DASH BOARD LIGHTS UP ALL THE LITTLE GAGE' THE LITTLE POINTS THEY GO BACK AND FORTH ON EVERYTHING THE LIGHT FLASH ON EVERYTHING ON THE DASH SOMETIMES IT WILL KEEP GOING SOMETIMES IT WILL JUST STOP ITS REALLY SCARY.EVEN MORE SCARY WITH MY 4YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.I HAVE BEEN LUCKY SO FAR WITH NO SPENDING CARS OR TRUCKS BEHIND ME AND WHEN THERE IS I CHANGE LANES SO IF MY CAR STOP'S AGAIN I DON'T WANT ME OR DAUGHTER OR HUSBAND TO GET HURT OR EVEN WORST. THE VEHICLE BECAME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V583000 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: LEVER AND LINKAGE: COLUMN SHIFT). HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
2006 DODGE CHARGER RT CAR SHUTS OFF WITH NO WARNING SHUTS OFF AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. WHEN I'M DRIVING UNDER 60 MPH IT STALLS AS IF IT'S GOING TO STOP AND THE ELECTRICAL LIGHT POPS ON AND GOES OFF BUT IT DOES NOT SHUT OFF. WHEN I AM DRIVING UNDER 40 IT WILL SHUT OFF AND I HAVE TO HIT THE BRAKES AND PUT IT IN PARK OR NEUTRAL AND RESTART IT. BUT THE BEST PART OF THIS WHICH IT'S REALLY NOT A BEST PART THAT IT STARTS RITE UP AFTER EACH ENCOUNTER. THERE IS NO ENGINE LIGHT THROUGH OUT THIS ISSUE SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF CODE IT'S GOING TO READ. I TOOK IT TO NAPLETON DODGE IN LANSING, IL YESTERDAY AND TOLD THEM THE ISSUE AND SHOWED THEM THE EDMUNDS REPORT FOR THE EXTENDED FUEL TANK WARRANTY BUT OFF COURSE THEY WANT TO TRY TO GET SOME KIND OF MONEY FROM ME ($125) FOR A DIAGNOSTICS WHICH I'M TELLING THEM AND SHOWING THEM THE REPORT.

SPOKE WITH REPRESENTATIVE OVER THE PHONE AND THEY ASSURE THAT THE PART NEED IT TO BE ORDER AND LATER TIME THEY WILL CALL ME FOR THE REPAIR APPOINTMENT. THIS NEVER HAPPEN. ON 8/19/2015 WAS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER. LOCATION IS 17280 GALE AVE, CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA 91748 (626) 626-2000. AFTER FILLING UP GAS ON MY DODGE CHARGER 2006 RT, THE ENGINE STALLS AND STOP WHILE AT THE TRAFFIC STOP. TRIED TO RE-START THE ENGINE A FEW TIMES BUT WON'T START. WAITED 2 MINUTES AND TRIED TO RE-START THE ENGINE IT DID START AND WAS ABLE TO CROSS TO TRAFFIC LIGHT AND AVOID HOLDING THE OTHER CARS BEHIND ME. BUT AFTER A FEW AT LEAST A HUNDRED FEET, THE ENGINE STARTS STALL AGAIN THIS TIME HAVE TO ROLL MY CAR INTO THE SIDE ROAD. TRIED A FEW TIMES TO RESTART, ENGINE BUT DID NOT START. AT THAT POINT DECIDED TO CALL FOR HELP AND WHILE WAITING ON THE SIDE ROAD FOR 5 TO 10 MINUTES, TRIED TO RE-START THE ENGINE AGAIN AND THIS TIME AROUND THE ENGINE STEADIED AND RUNS NORMAL AS IF NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. I HAVE RESEARCH THIS TYPE OF ENGINE STALL AND IT SEEMS THIS IS COMMON TO MY CAR MODEL/YEAR.

MY CAR WAS STUCK IN PARK.UPON REVIEWING MY PROBLEMS ONLINE I REALIZED THERE IS A KNOWN RECALL FOR THIS MAKE/MODEL OF MY CAR :CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION K39TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE REPAIR AND WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. ADVISED TO CALL CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. MY CAR WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALERSHIP AT MY EXPENSE FOR THE EXACT RECALL WORK. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. CHRYSLER NEED TO EXPAND THE RECALL TO INCLUDED ALL DODGE CHARGERS FROM 2005-2007 NOT "SOME" MODELS.
THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFT LEVER INTERLOCK RETURN SPRING HOOK BROKE. A BROKEN INTERLOCK RETURN SPRING HOOK RESULTED IN THE INABILITY TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. SAME AS CHRYSLER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION K39. I WAS TOLD THIS DIDN'T APPLY TO MY CAR. IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
I GOT MY FUEL TANK REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY (NEW FUEL TANK & O-RING PART #S: CNSTX531AA AND CNSTX532AA) AND NOW STALLING IS WORSE THAN BEFORE. ENGINE WANTS TO STALL ANYWHERE FROM 0-30 MPH NOW WHETHER THE TANK IS FULL, HALF EMPTY OR NEAR EMPTY. THE CAR'S STALLING CAN BE PREVENTED BY PROVIDING QUICK ACCELERATION, WHICH WILL TEMPORARY FIX THE ISSUE, ONLY TO HAVE IT COME BACK LATER. THE CHOICE BETWEEN STALLING AT HIGH SPEEDS AND LOSING POWER STEERING & OTHER NECESSITIES, OR QUICKLY ACCELERATING TO PREVENT A STALL, LEAVE DRIVERS WITH TWO UNSAFE, DANGEROUS CHOICES EACH. THE FUEL TANK RECALL DID NOT REMEDY THE ISSUE. IF ANYTHING, IT MADE IT WORSE, MORE DANGEROUS, AND MADE A MINOR DEFECT/ANNOYANCE INTO A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT CAN NOT BE "BURNT OFF" LIKE THE EXCESS GAS IN THE PREVIOUS FUEL TANK. DEALERSHIPS GIVE US THE RUN AROUND. SAYING THEY EITHER DON'T HAVE THE PIECE, OR THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE WE ALREADY HAVE THE NEW, YET STILL FAULTY, FUEL TANK. IT'S BECOMING A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH NO REAL REMEDY IN SIGHT. THE DEALERSHIP BLAMES CHRYSLER/DODGE AND CHRYSLER/DODGE BLAMES THE DEALERSHIP. THE TWO POINT FINGERS AND SCAPEGOAT EACH OTHER, LEAVING THE CUSTOMER TO EITHER REPLACE EVERYTHING OUT-OF-POCKET OR DRIVE A SERIOUSLY IMPAIRED AND DANGEROUS VEHICLE. I WENT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH TWO MINOR DTC CODES THAT I PLANNED ON REPAIRING (THEY WERE NONIMMEDIATE AND NOT SERIOUS) AND LEFT THE DEALERSHIP WITH 15 CODES. CHRYSLER EVEN GAVE ME A "CASE MANAGER" FOR THIS, BUT THE CASE MANAGER SAID ALL THEY CAN DO IS RELY ON THE DEALERSHIP'S DIAGNOSTICS... LITERALLY JUST A WASTE OF TIME. WHY EVEN ASSIGN A CASE MANAGER? I TOOK THE CAR IN TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK SINCE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY (AKA FREE)... I'M A COLLEGE STUDENT WITH NO FINANCES FOR REPAIR. NOW, I'M LEFT WITH A FAULTY, UNSAFE, NEARLY INOPERABLE VEHICLE WITH NO OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP IN.

I FILLED MY GAS TANK (BUT DID NOT TOP IT OFF WITH FUEL) AND LEFT THE GAS STATION AT THE FIRST INTERSECTION. THE CAR STALLED WHILE BRAKING, THE CAR CAME BACK ON, ACCELERATED AGAINST BRAKES, DIED AGAIN AND WOULDN'T TURN OVER AFTERWARD. HAD TO TURN THE CAR ALL THE WAY OFF AND BACK ON TO RESTART THE CAR, ONLY TO HAVE IT DO IT THREE MORE TIMES ON THE WAY HOME. IT FEELS LIKE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I HAVE ORDERED THE RECALLED PART FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON 20 JULY. I RETURNED A CALL ON 03 AUG. AND WAS TOLD THAT ONLY A FEW PARTS WERE BEING SENT TO THE DEALERSHIPS PER MONTH. IT IS NOW 17 AUG AND I HAVE BEEN ON YOUR HOTLINE FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF. I LIVE IN A HIGH HUMIDITY AREA, AND I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THERE IS NO REGARD TO THE SAFETY ISSUES OF THIS VEHICLE. PERHAPS THE MEDIA WOULD LIKE THE INFORMATION FOR ANOTHER STORY ON HOW THE MANUFACTURERS ARE FAILING THE PUBLIC.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH THE CAR STALLED WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ENGINE MISFIRE/STUTTERING. THE STALL WAS AS IF THE KEY WAS TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION. THE CAR COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, RESTART WAS ATTEMPTED AND THE CAR STARTED PERFECTLY, I CONTINUED TO DRIVE. THE CAR STALLED AGAIN AFTER A FEW MILES, RESTARTED AND IT STALLED AGAIN - THIS CONTINUED, EACH TIME WITH THE TIME DRIVEN BEING LESS. ALL THIS TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE. I FINALLY MADE IT TO A SHOP WHERE THE CAR WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THIS DID NOT SOLVE THE STALLING ISSUE. THE CAR WILL HAVE THE PCM REPLACED IN HOPE THAT THIS WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE FAILURE ESPECIALLY WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS - THE CAR LOSES ALL POWER AND IS VERY DIFFICULT TO MOVE INTO THE SHOULDER WHEN IT STALLS (NO POWER STEERING). THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN THAT CAN BE CATASTROPHIC.
WHEN MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY UPON SLIGHT ACCELERATION THE ENGINE DIED, IN FRONT OF A SEMI TRUCK! WE HAD NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES! THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE!! WE WERE LUCKY TO NOT HAVE CRASHED. I THEN TURNED KEY TO OFF AND RESTARTED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 6 MORE TIMES AT LOWER SPEEDS I.E. 15MPH, 20, 30 MPH RANGES, WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!? BROUGHT IT INTO MECHANIC AND THEY COULDN'T FIND THE ISSUE, CAR HAD NO CODES. THEY SUGGESTED REPLACING THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR. WE DID THAT AND IT WAS FINE.. FOR 15 MILES UNTIL IT DIED AGAIN!!! STILL NO CODES, DEALER WONT HELP, I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR AS IT IS UNSAFE. I DID SOME INTERNET SEARCHES. FOUND ABOUT A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL EVAP SYSTEM AND THE FUEL TANK AND FILLER NECK. THESE FAULTY PARTS CAUSE THE CAR TO READ FALSE RICH SIGNALS AND CAUSES THE ENGINE TO RUN LEANER. SO NOW, LACK OF APPROPRIATE FUEL UPON ACCELERATION CAUSES THE ENGINE TO STALL AND LOSE EFFECTED DRIVE SYSTEMS. THIS IS LUDICROUS FROM CHRYSLER HOW MANY DEATHS HAS THIS CAUSED!?!?

I HAVE HAD MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER RT FOR JUST OVER A YEAR AND HAVE KEPT ALL THE OIL CHANGES AND FLUID FILLED. I HAD NO ISSUE OTHER THAN A BAD FUEL TANK OUT OF THE CAR, UNTIL I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY HEADING TO WORK WHEN I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A POP. THEN MY VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. I BARELY MADE IT TO WORK WHERE I HAD TO GET IT TOWED. I LATER FOUND OUT IT HAD DROPPED A VALVE SEAT AND THAT DODGE WOULD CHARGE ME OVER $8000 TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. I WILL INCLUDE A LINK THAT SHOWS THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. THE BLOCK AND VALVE SEAT WAS MADE FROM TWO DIFFERENT METALS THAT EXPAND AT DIFFERENT RATES AND LENGTHS. I HAVE TRIED CONTACTING DODGE TO NO LUCK. THIS SHOULD BE SERIOUSLY INVESTIGATED BECAUSE IT IS COSTING DODGE CONSUMERS THOUSANDS WHEN IT WAS AVOIDABLE BY PINNING THE VALVE SEATS OR USING THE SAME METALS.
