REAR BRAKES ON 2007 DODGE CHARGER (17144 MILE, MAINLY HWY) GROOVED CONSISTENTLY FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. DEALER CHECKED AND THE ONLY EXPLANATION THEY WOULD GIVE ME WAS THAT I LIVE ON A GRAVEL ROAD AND THAT ROCKS ARE CAUSING THIS. APPARENTLY IF YOU LIVE OR ARE GOING TO DRIVE ON A GRAVEL ROAD YOU CAN'T OWN A CHARGER. BOTH THE DEALER AND CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE TURNED THIS DOWN AS A WARRANTY ITEM. DEALER STATED ROTORS NEEDED TO BE TURNED BUT WITHOUT GIVING ME A SOLUTION AS TO PREVENTING THIS PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE. THE GROOVES IN THE ROTOR ARE ABOUT 1/8 OF AN INCH. THIS WOULD TAKE ABOUT 40 ROCKS PERFECTLY LINED UP ON EACH OF THE REAR BRAKES. IMPOSSIBLE. I AM BE GIVEN THE RUN AROUND AND WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ASSISTANCE POSSIBLE. *JB
2007 DODGE CHARGER WITH BRAKE PROBLEMS CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE CAR WAS SERVICED FOUR TIMES AND HE BELIEVES THAT IT IS A LEMON**CC THE CONSUMER COMPLAINED THAT THE BRAKES WERE VERY SQUEAKY. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE BRAKE PADS HAD RECENTLY BEEN UPDATED AND AN ORDER WOULD HAVE TO PLACED FOR THE NEWER VERSION. THE CONSUMER CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES AFTER THE UPDATE OF THE BRAKES. *JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP GEARS WITH A SEVERE VIBRATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING OVER 40 MPH. THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THE DEFECT ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V341000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
ENGINE SPUTTERS WHILE IDLE. I CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 2500-3000 MILES, ALONG WITH ENGINE AIR FILTER AND SPARK PLUG CHANGE AT 36,000. WHILE IDLE, ONCE IN A WHILE THE ENGINE WILL SPUTTER. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE (CND) THE PROBLEM, THEREFORE THEY COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER THEY ASKED IF I NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. I LOVED THE RT WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED IT. NOW! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO PURCHASE IT. ENGINE SPUTTERS, SIDE WINDOW IS SCRATCHED DUE TO MECHANISM, ROTOR ARE WARPED, AND OF COURSE THE SHIFTER STUCK IN PARK, AND THE ABS LIGHT IS NOW. ALL OF WHICH CHRYSLER WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE FOR MY VIN, BUT HAVE A RECALL ON OTHERS. HOW MANY PEOPLE NEED TO FILE A COMPLAINT? LET US CONTINUE TO SUBMIT OUR COMPLAINTS AND HOPEFULLY NO ONE WILL BE INJURED. AND MAYBE CHRYSLER WILL PAY FOR THEIR PROBLEMS. STARTING TO HATE MY HOT RED RT! *TR
IN JULY 2007 I PURCHASED A 07 DODGE CHARGER. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 20+ TIMES IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. THE SPEDOMETER FLUCTUATES FROM 60 TO 40 MPH WHEN IN CRUISE CONTROL AND FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE VEHICLE HAS ODD LITTLE SHAKES AND SHIMMYS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WONT STAY OFF FOR MORE THEN 5 DAYS. THE REMOTE ENTRY WONT WORK ALL THE TIME EVEN IF I'M STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO THE VEHICLE. THERE HAS BEEN A NEW FUEL EXTRACTOR PUT INTO THIS VEHICLE. *TR
WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR IN MAY 2007, MY CAR'S ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING ON THE HIGHWAY. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND IT STARTED UP AND DIDN'T HAVE THE PROBLEM AGAIN. I DID REPORT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP DURING MY SECOND OIL CHANGE. THEY SAID THAT SINCE IT HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN THAT IT SHOULDN'T BE ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. NOW, AT ABOUT 95,000 MILES ITS BEEN HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY, ABOUT TWICE A DAY. NO WARNING LIGHTS COME ON. THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER TEST AND NOTHING CAME UP. WE ALSO WENT FOR A TEST DRIVE, BUT IT DID NOT HAPPEN WHEN THE TECHNICIAN WAS WITH ME. I FEEL THAT I WILL EVENTUALLY GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. OUR FAMILY RELIES ON THIS CAR AND I AM WORRIED THAT SOMETHING HORRIBLE COULD HAPPEN. I HAVE VISITED DIFFERENT FORUMS AND OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A DEFECT DUE TO THE FACT THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE ALSO SEEN COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM. I DON'T HAVE A CHOICE BUT TO USE THIS CAR, BUT ALSO FEEL THAT IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. *TR
WITH ONLY 95 (BRAND NEW) MILES THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING WHEN APPLY BREAKS OVER 50 MPH.IT SEEM LIKE BADLY WARPED ROTORS. SEND A E MAIL TO DODGE DID.T SEEM TO CARE. THE DEALER SAID THEY WILL FIX IT, I MET ANOTHER OWNER WITH SAME PROBLEM.THIS A EXPENSIVE CAR , THE VEHICAL MWY BE FORED TO FIX THIS PROBLEMS.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT HAS OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR ONLY TWO MONTHS AND IT HAS ALREADY BEEN IN THE SHOP THREE TIMES. HE STATED THAT THE ENGINE MAKES A NOISE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IDLE. THE PCV VALVE WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. APPROXIMATELY TWO DAYS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE POPPING AND SQUEALING. THE BRAKES WERE REPAIRED, BUT THE ENGINE NOISE CONTINUED. THE MECHANIC COMPARED THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE TO ANOTHER VEHICLE AND CONFIRMED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING FAILURE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS PRESENT. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 6,333 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AT 70 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK AND THE BRAKE PEDAL SHUTTERED. THE DEALER SHAVED AND TURNED THE ROTORS BECAUSE THEY WERE WARPED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER 50 MILES. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INSTALLED AFTERMARKET BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS, AS WELL AS NEW TIRES ON THE VEHICLE; YET, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,926.
SHIMMY AT 73-80 MPH VISABLE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND SHIMMYS AT 73MPH CAR WAS AT DEALER FOR PROBLEM AND THE DEALER REBALANCED THE WHEELS. NO EFFECT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. CAR WAS RETURNED TO ANOTHER DEALER AND WHEELS WERE ROTATED. NO EFFECT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS HAVE SAME PROBLEMS WITH SRT/8 MODELS. REMIDIES HAVE BEEN REPLACING TIE ROD ENDS, WHEEL BEARINGS, ROAD FORCE BALANCE OF WHEELS AND REPLACEMENT OF STEERING RACK. THERE NEEDS TO BE A TSB FOR THIS PROBLEM.
TL*- CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER, AND STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 12 MPH HE PRESSED ON THE BRAKES 20 FEET BEFORE GETTING TO A STOP SIGN, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO DRIVE, AND SIDE SWIPED ANOTHER VEHICLE AT 12 MPH, WHICH FINALLY CAUSED THE 2007 DODGE CHARGER TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS UNRECOGNIZABLE AND NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500.
WHEN I BOUGHT THIS 2007 DODGE CHARGER I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY BRAKES AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALEAR TO BE CHECKED OUT BECAUSE EVERYTIME I HIT THE BRAKES IT FELT LIKE IT WAS SCRATCHING THE GROUND BUT THEY KEEP TELLING ME IT WAS FINE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT SO WHEN I LEFT THE DEALER IT DID IT AGAIN THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD ALREADY CHECKED IT AND THEY DIDN'T FIND NOTHING TO BRING IT ANOTHER TIME SO I KEPT BRINGING IT SO MANY TIMES THEY KEPT TELLING ME THE SAME THING SO I STOP TAKING IT THAN LATER MY SHIFTER BROKE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND I HAD BOUGHT A BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND THEY TOLD ME IT DOESN'T COVER IT , THEY TRY TO CHARGE ME $580. SO I DID A RESEARCH ON HOW TO FIX IT ON YOUTUBE AND I BOUGHT THE PART I ONLY PAY $10. FOR THE PART. AND I FIXED IT MYSELF I SAVED ME $570. SO I STOP TAKING MY CAR TO THEM BECAUSE I USED TO DO MY OIL CHANGE BUT THEY CHARGE ME TOO MUCH
2007 DODGE CHARGER R/T ROAD & TRACK PACKAGE(HD BRAKES) MY VEHICLE HAS 3500 MILES FROM WHEN I PURCHASED IT NEW AND HAS EXCESSIVE BRAKE NOISE AND POSSIBLE FRONT BRAKE DAMAGE DUE TO GROOVING/WARPING OF THE ROTORS. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE LOCAL DEALER IN MY AREA AS TO THE PROBLEM AND A POSSIBLE PERMANENT FIX WITH TSB 05-001-07. THE DEALER HAS STATED I'VE BEEN DECLINED FOR THIS TSB AND ALL THAT CAN BE DONE UNDER WARRANTY IS A TEMPORARY FIX OF REPLACING THE BRAKE PADS WITH THE SAME LIKENESS AND RE-CUT THE ROTORS. THIS SHOULD NOT EVEN BE AN OPTION FOR A BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH ONLY 3500 CAREFULL MILES. THE MANUFACTUER IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM IN THEIR BRAKING SYSTEMS AND HAS DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THIS, THAT I AM AWARE OF. AS I STATED, TSB 05-001-07 WAS DENIED FOR MY VEHICLE DUE TO A "SALES CODE" THAT DOES NOT MATCH. MY VEHICLE HAS THIS HEAVY DUTY BRAKE SYSTEM STATED IN THE TSB, BUT DO TO "LIABILITY" WILL NOT BE DONE. I HAVE CONTACTED SEVERAL VEHICLE OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS I HAVE, AND ALL ARE JUST AS FRUSTRATED AS I AM TO HAVE A NEW VEHICLE WITH BRAKE PROBLEMS. THE DEALER THEN STATED TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND HOPE SOMETHING "COMES OUT" BEFORE THE 12,000 MILE WARRANTY IS UP. THANK YOU!
SEVERAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS AND AUTOMOTIVE DEALERSHIPS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED, INSPECTED TO DETERMINE IF THEY HAVE THESE VEHICLES IN OPERATION; TEXAS AREA DEALERSHIPS AND TEXAS POLICE DEPARTMENTS THAT UTILIZE THESE MODELS (E.G.) LOUD AND CONSISTENT SQUEALING OF FRONT BRAKES SINCE PURCHASE DATE IN FEBRUARY 07. REPORTED TO DEALER AT BOTH OIL CHANGES AND NOTHING DONE. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. ON NOVEMBER 1, 2006, THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR A BASIC OIL CHANGE AND FILTER AT 3,600 MILES. ON JANUARY 2, 2007, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR BASIC MAINTENANCE, IN WHICH THE CONTACT REQUESTED A TIRE ROTATION BECAUSE THE TIRES WERE WEARING VERY QUICKLY. HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIRES WERE ROTATED, BALANCED, AND THAT THE OIL WAS CHANGED. TWO MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE TIRES CONTINUED TO WEAR VERY QUICKLY AND THE BRAKES WERE NOT STOPPING THE VEHICLE PROPERLY. HE WENT TO A LOCAL TIRE STORE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIRES WERE PLACED ON THE VEHICLE INCORRECTLY AND THAT TWO DIFFERENT SIZED TIRES SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSTALLED. THE CONTACT RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE NEW TIRES AND BRAKES. THEY PROVIDED THE TIRES AND NEW FRONT BRAKES, BUT NO REAR BRAKES. THE DEALER ALSO FAILED TO REPAIR A RATTLING NOISE IN THE FAN UNDER THE HOOD; HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT. CURRENTLY, THE BRAKES LOCK SOMETIMES AND THE FAN STILL MAKES A NOISE AS IF LEAVES AND STICKS ARE UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT HAS A 100,000 MILE WARRANTY, BUT WAS ADVISED TO TAKE HIS VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,044. I BOUGHT MY CHARGER ON 11/03/06 WITH 13 MILES ON IT. AT 900 MILES THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID AN O2 SENSOR WAS BAD, THEY REPLACED IT. THEN AT 980 MILES THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. IT WAS THE SAME SENSOR, AND THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 3 DAYS. THE DEALER SAID EVERYTHING WAS GOOD TO GO. THEN ON DECEMBER 27TH THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND NOW THEY SAY IT NEEDS SOFTWARE FOR THE COMPUTER FOR THE ENGINE. CURRENTLY I AM WAITING FOR THEM TO CALL ME WHEN THE PART COMES IN. THEY SAID IT IS O.K TO DRIVE TIL THEN.......THE DEALER HAS BEEN VERY NICE ABOUT THIS ,THEY HAVE BEEN DOING A VERY GOOD JOB. I JUST FEEL A BRAND NEW CAR SHOULDN'T BE DOING THIS AND I'M LOOKING INTO THE LEMON LAW.
i didnt not see any warning lights. till this days Nobody knows what is wrong with the car.
