MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OVER A BRIDGE IN CITY LIMITS AT 9:30PM AND OUR CAR SHUTDOWN ON HER SHE FELT A LITTLE PULL AND THEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND WE HAD TO GET IT TOWED. WHEN I TRY TO TURN THE CAR ON THE CAR SPUTTERS AND TURNS AS IF IT IS GOING TO START BUT NEVER DOES. IT PUT MY WHOLE FAMILY'S LIFE IN DANGER THE ROAD WHERE THIS HAPPEND IS NOT WELL LIT AND TRAFFIC WAS HEAVY . I TRIED TO PUT A VIDEO BUT IT WON'T LET ME DIE TO NO PROPER FORMAT FOR FILE WHICH IS NO GOOD SINCE MY CAR WON'T START AND I HAVE NO REAL WAY OF SHOWING YOU HOW MY CAR IS REACTING OR ACTING WHEN I TRY TO TURN IT ON

AFTER AN OXYGEN SENSOR WAS INSTALLED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS OR ACCELERATE ABOVE 35 MPH. IN ADDITION, THE OXYGEN SENSOR INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TEXAS DODGE (7800 I-40 FRONTAGE RD, AMARILLO, TX 79106, (806) 353-6343) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
WE WERE DRIVING ON NORMAL ROAD GOING 35 MPH WHEN WE HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND AND STARTED TO LOSE POWER ON VEHICLE, WE PULLED OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD AND INSPECTED ENGINE AND A BLADE ON THE RADIATOR FAN BROKE LOOSE AND BECAME LODGED INTO THE RADIATOR. AFTER DOING SEARCH ONLINE IT APPEARS THIS HAS HAPPENED QUITE FREQUENTLY WITH THIS MAKE MODEL YET THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY VIN WHICH I FIND UNSATISFACTORY AND WILL BE REACHING OUT TO OUR LOCAL ATTORNEY IF I DO NOT HEARD ABOUT ABOUT THIS ISSUE SOON.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 170,829.
BRAKES HAVE FAILED INTO ABS MODE TWICE WHILE BRAKING ON DRY ROADWAY CONDITIONS FROM SPEEDS OF 30 TO 45 MILES PER HOUR IN A MANNER NOT TYPICALLY EXPERIENCED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE STYLE OF BRAKING PERFORMED INTO THE SWITCH TO ABS MODE WAS SMOOTH STEADY PRESSURE. I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR TEN YEARS AND HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED AN ISSUE SUCH AS THIS BEFORE. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP TO GET INSPECTED AND INSPECTION CAME BACK WITH NO ERROR CODES OR APPARENT MECHANICAL PROBLEMS ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP PERSONNEL.
THE ENGINE SHUT COMPLETELY OFF DURING DRIVING. I LOST POWER STEERING AND AUTOMATIC BRAKING. I TRIED TO RESTART BUT IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. THE BATTERY AND THE ALTERNATOR WERE NOT DEAD. I HAD IT TOWED TO A SHOP AND THEY SAID THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE WAS DEAD. IT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I THEN HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A DEALER FOR REPAIR.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD THE CAR SHUT OFF LOST POWER STEERING CAR WAS IN DRIVE AND IGNITION WAS STILL ON. TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND TOOK SEVERAL TRIES TO RESTART CAR RESTARTED BUT WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 10 MPH AND CUT OFF 4 TIMES THEREAFTER. DROVE A WEEK LATER AND SAME PROBLEM RIGHT BEFORE I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY. CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE IN DRIVE. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR ANY OTHER INDICATOR LIGHTS COME ON. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS THIS IS MY PRIMARY VEHICLE TO TRANSPORT MY FAMILY
THE CAR TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. I CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP, THE SPARK PLUGS, GOT SOME NEW RELAYS I DID EVERYTHING AND NOT EVEN A DEALER KNOWS WHY IT'S DOING THAT.

THE DEALER (GRIEGERS DODGE, 1756 US 30, VALPARAISO, ID 46385) STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR AND THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE THAT THEY WOULD BE AVAILABLE ON A SPECIFIC DATE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I CALLED ALL THE DEALERS AND NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE AND NONE WANT TO HELP

IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING AROUND A CURVE ON THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND RESTARTED. THE DEALER (MARK DODGE, 3777 GERSTNER MEMORIAL BLVD, LAKE CHARLES, LA 70607, (337) 474-2640) WAS NOTIFIED, BUT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT IN MID DECEMBER OF 2017. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION, DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN SINCE IT WAS SERVICED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO ALSO SERVICED AN ELECTRICAL RECALL WITHOUT THE CONTACT KNOWING UNTIL THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.

I HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS REMINDERS FROM MOPAR, NHTSA, ETC TO HAVE MY AIR BAGS FIXED THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. EVERY TIME I TRY TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, I'M TOLD THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE NO MATTER WHERE I CALL. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW THIS CAN BE RESOLVED SO THAT I MAY GET MY VEHICLE FIXED? THANK YOU

I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WHEN I SMELLED A BURNING SMELL. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND I KEPT DRIVING. WHEN I TURNED THE CORNER I SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE VEHICLE HOOD. I PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE CAR JUMPED OUT AND SAW FLAMES COMING IN THE SAME SPOT I SAW THE SMOKE. I CALLED 911 AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE FIREFIGHTERS THOUGHT IT MAY BE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE BECAUSE OF THE SMELL. STILL WAITING ON INSURANCE AND MANUFACTURER TO FINISH INVESTIGATION.

IF THE IGNITION STAYS BETWEEN "START" AND "ON" POSITIONS IT COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CERTAIN ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS. IF THE IGNITION KEY INADVERTENTLY MOVES INTO THE "OFF" OR "ACCESSORY" POSITION, THE ENGINE WILL TURN OFF, WHICH WILL THEN DEPOWER VARIOUS KEY SAFETY SYSTEMS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO AIR BAGS, POWER STEERING, AND POWER BRAKING. LOSS OF FUNCTIONALITY OF THESE SYSTEMS MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF CRASH AND/OR INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
CAR WILL NOT START UNTIL THE KEY REST IN THE SWITCH FOR 5 MINUTES. THEN IT WORKS. EVERY TIME FOR 3 WEEKS NOW.

THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED AND SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO LEAKING OIL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE STAN MCNABD CHRYSLER CHEVROLET DODGE DEALER AND THE RADIATOR WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 171,000.
MY BATTERY EXPLODED. THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL BATTERY I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW. I GOT IN MY CAR, TURNED THE KEY AND HEARD A HUGE EXPLOSION. THE CONCUSSION FROM THE EXPLOSION ACTUALLY MOVED MY SHIRT. THE BATTERY HAD EXPLODED IN THE TRUNK. NOTHING HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I BABY THIS CAR AND TAKE IT IN EVERY 3 THOUSAND MILES FOR MAINTENANCE. THE BATTERY WAS IN PIECES AND BATTERY ACID WAS EVERYWHERE. IF I WAS STANDING BY THE TRUNK WITH IT OPENED I WOULD'VE BEEN BADLY HARMED.

AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA AND WANTED THE VEHICLE TO BE BROUGHT IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V352000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 109,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
MY RADIATOR FAN BLADE BROKE OFF AND FLEW INTO MY RADIATOR. THE PIECE OF FAN THAT BROKE OFF FLEW INTO MY RADIATOR PUNCTURING A HOLE INTO THE LOWER PART OF THE RADIATOR. A HOLE WAS MADE FROM THE BLADE HITTING IT AND CAUSING ALL THE ANTIFREEZE TO LEAK OUT. THIS IS SECOND TIME IN A TWO YEAR PERIOD BACK-TO-BACK THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. AND THE REPAIRS AND PARTS COSTED ME DEARLY. THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING STILL WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ON MID WAY. AND THE AS THE FAN WAS TURNING THE BROKEN BLADE GOT STUCK AND THE FAN STARTED TO SMOKE ALMOST CATCHING FIRE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH AND A NEW MODULE WERE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. RECALL L08 ENGINE COOLING FANS, THIS RECALL IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPEN TO MY CAR. COOLING BLADES BROKE AND WENT THROUGH THE RADIATOR. CALLED CHRYSLER TO COMPLAIN AS I WAS TOLD RECALL ISN'T ON MY EXACT VIN. THEY TOOK MY COMPLAINT AND SAID IT WAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM BUT TOUGH LUCK BECAUSE THE RECALL WASN'T ON MY VIN. MY CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE FRONT YARD TILL I CAN AFFORD TO FIX IT ONLY HAD THE CAR 2 MONTHS. SITTING AT THE LIGHT FELT LIKE SOMEONE BUMPED THE BACK OF MY CAR BUT THERE WAS NO CAR BEHIND ME. COOLANT STARTED TO LEAK THROUGH THE A/C VENT. PULLED OVER AFTER THE LIGHT CHANGED AND TOWED THE CAR HOME AS IT JUST STARTED TO SHOW THAT IT WAS GOING TO OVERHEAT. WE REMOVED THE COOLING FAN AND SAW THE BROKEN BLADES AND THE WHOLE IT MADE IN THE RADIATOR. I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER THAT THE BLADES ARE CHEAP AND BREAK EASILY. WELL HELLO IF I AM GOING TO PAY THAT MUCH I HOPE THAT A VEHICLE IS GOING TO SOMEWHAT HOLD TOGETHER. THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM HAD JUST REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND INSPECTED THE FAN AND EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. THEN IT JUST BREAKS I CAN TAKE AND SEND PICS IF NEEDED. THANK YOU

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN HER GAUGE CLUSTER WAS ACTING ERRATICALLY AND ALL THE CAR ODOMETER LIGHTS ALL CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON THE FREEWAY AND EVERYTHING LOCKED UP, SHE COULDN'T MOVE THE WHEEL OR THE GEAR SHIFTER AND SHE SMELLED A BURNING SMELL WITH SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE . LUCKILY HER PARENTS WERE BEHIND HER IN ANOTHER VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO HELP OUT BUT THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF DODGE CHARGER HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE.
ENGINE/UNKNOWN THE CAR HAS A LOUD MUFFLE SOUND WHEN DRIVING JURKING WHEN BRAKING AND OR COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP ALSO DRAGGING BEFORE SPEED. DRIVER SEAT IS CRACKED AND WON'T GO UP AS MUCH BOTH IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND MY FAMILY.
MY CAR, DODGE CHARGER 08 HAS A RECALL SINCE JULY OF 2016 FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG THAT THE INFLATOR MAY RUPTURE WHICH CAN CAUSE METAL FRAGMENTS TO BE RELEASED THROUGHOUT THE CAR DURING A CRASH AND CAUSE OTHER INJURY. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR DURING THIS AS I HAVE A CHILD AND DON'T WANT THEM HURT DURING THE POSSIBLE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT CAUSING THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY. THE RECALL STILL HASN'T BEEN FIXED, 8 MONTHS LATER, EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A GOVERNMENT RECALL FOR IT.

WHILE DRIVING THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND THE A/C WENT OUT. I CALLED A DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUE COULD BE AND THEY SAID BRING IT IN IT COULD BE AS SIMPLE AS A FUSE. THEN I GOOGLED THE ISSUE AND SAW WHICH FUSES AND CHANGED THEM BUT IT DIDN'T WORK. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS AND SINCE THE ISSUE STARTED WHEN THAT LIGHT CAME ON I WANTED TO TRY GETTING THAT FIXED FIRST AND MAYBE THAT WOULD SOLVE THE ISSUE (SINCE THE A/C AND AIRBAGS ARE AROUND THE SAME AREA). I TAKE THE CAR IN. THEY FIX 1 AIR BAG (NO PARTS FOR PASSENGER SIDE) AND THE IGNITION SWITCH. STILL NO AIR/HEAT/DEFROST. I PAY $121 FOR A DIAGNOSIS OF ,START WITH REPLACING THE TIPM (NO GUARANTEE THAT WILL FIX THE ISSUE OR THAT IT'S A PERMANENT FIX) SINCE THE AC IS NOT GETTING POWER AND GROUND.

ON THE EVENING OF 09/17/2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 2200HRS, MY WIFE WAS LEAVING A LOCAL STORE PARKING LOT WHEN SHE HEARD A NOISE AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND MAKE A LOUD NOISE. SMOKE AND FLUID BEGAN COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. SHE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND SHUT IT OFF. I RECEIVED A FRANTIC PHONE CALL AND RESPONDED TO THE LOCATION TO FIND THAT A LITTLE MORE THAN HALF OF THE ELECTRIC RADIATOR COOLING FAN BLADES HAD DESENTIGRATED INTO PIECES, CUTTING INTO THE RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE IS NOW INOPERABLE AND PARKED AWAITING TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY. THERE WERE NO PREVIOUS WARNING SIGNS OF THIS EVENT HAPPENING AND AM VERY GLAD MY WIFE WAS NOT DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED AS THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH DIFFERENT. LOOKING ONLINE, THIS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHERS FROM DODGE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A MUCH MORE SERIOUS INCIDENT HAD MY WIFE BEEN DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS.
FANS ASSEMBLY OR FAN BLADE ITSELF DISINTEGRATED AND PIERCED RADIATOR REQUIRING NEW FAN ASSEMBLY AND RADIATOR - ALREADY A RECALL ISSUED ON OTHER DODGE MODELS. ALL PARTS ARE PLASTIC AND THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
CHRYSLER HAS ISSUED A RECALL REGARD THE IGNITION SWITCH WHICH INCLUDES A LIST OF THEIR VEHICLES INCLUDING THE 2008 DODGE CHARGER, WHICH I DRIVE. THE RECALL STATES: CHRYSLER SAYS IGNITIONS KEYS ON CERTAIN VEHICLES MAY NOT FULLY RETURN TO THE "ON" POSITION AFTER THEY ARE TURNED TO START THE ENGINE. INSTEAD, THE KEY ENDS UP BETWEEN THE "ON" AND "START" POSITION. IN THAT CASE, THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS WON'T WORK. THE GREATER DANGER, WHICH CHRYSLER CALLS "LESS PROBABLE," IS THAT THE KEY MOVES TO THE "ACCESSORY" OR "OFF" POSITION. IF THAT HAPPENS, THE CAR'S ENGINE WILL TURN OFF, IT WILL LOSE POWER STEERING AND THE AIR BAGS WON'T DEPLOY. I AM EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE WHICH PROMPTED ME TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL. I REACHED OUT TO CHRYSLER AND QUESTIONED WHY I RECEIVED RECALL A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR THE AIRBAGS BUT NOT FOR THE IGNITION. I WAS ADVISED THAT MY VIN IS NOT ON THE LIST FOR THE IGNITION CONCERNS. THE CHRYSLER AGENT ADVISED ME THAT MY VIN # WAS NOT ON THE LIST FOR THE IGNITION PROBLEM. I ADVISED THE AGENT THAT I AM EXPERIENCING THE ISSUES OUTLINED IN THE RECALL. SHE ADVISED THAT IT WAS NOTHING CHRYSLER CAN DO UNTIL MY VIN NUMBER IS ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST. I ASKED IF THERE WAS AN ESCALATION PROCESS, SINCE DRIVING WITH A FAULTY IGNITION IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. SHE ADVISED ME THAT THERE WAS NOT A PROCESS TO ESCALATE MY CONCERNS EVEN THOUGH I PROVIDED HER WITH MY VIN NUMBER AND SHE COULD CLEARLY SEE THAT IT WAS FOR A 2008 DODGE CHARGER SEDAN. PLEASE ASSIST IN THE RESOLUTION OF THE IGNITION SWITCH CONCERN.
