When I turned my ignition key, it would not turn on the car no power
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start as intended. An abnormal cranking sound could be heard coming from the engine. The contact stated it would take several attempts to start the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that last year he received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers : 4V567000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) and NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V352000 (AIR BAGS). The vehicle was repaired. The dealer is refusing to repair the vehicle for the most recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 250,000.
My car was leaking gas from the fuel pump and I guess my car from the backseat almost caught fire cause I seen smoke coming from the back seat behind the driver. I went to two Dodge dealerships to let them know about this incident that reason why my fuel pump caught on fire because Dodge put the negative and the positive wire close to each other on the fuel pump, which could cause a fire or your car to explode. I let Dodge know about this incident and let them know that my car almost caught on fire smoke came out and I could’ve died. They totally brushed me off and brushed off my incident. I told him hey this is a recall that you guys need to take serious before someone really gets hurt from Now. I am carless with no vehicle to drive. No way to pick up my daughter from school. I need you guys help ASAP so I could be able to father my child and be able to go to work to provide for my child. Thank you.
Hesitation when starting car

The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the vehicle remained running temporarily. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle would no longer start. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V567000 (Electrical System). The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not repair the vehicle under the recall as the vehicle was over 10 years old; however, the vehicle was not more than 10 years old on the date the defect was determined. The gas gage on the dash is not reading properly my car said I had 1/8 of a tank and then driving down the interstate my car dies in the middle of the road lights went out power steering
Accelerating on highway at around 45mph my Dodge Charger gave a small spurt of powder then immediately after i lost complete power and shut down. I had to move to shoulder of highway where i turned the key to off position and took key out. I tried to restart the car and it wouldnt even try turning over. The cluster lights of PRND38 (ive never seen an 8 on there before)… showed up with boxes around each letter which was not normal along with the lightning bolt light and battery light. We changed new charged battery still no turn over. Tried to connect a snap on code scanner and it wouldn’t link. I also changed throttle pedal as well as throttle body because the lightning bolb light was on When can shut down while driving it.
Need keyfobs reprogramed my car won't start unless I hold down on door lock and lock on keyfob at the same time and to the point where it won't start at all security light keeps coming on before starting. My car shutdown while driving in traffic. It happens a lot. Please recall these parts. I'm afraid of wrecking when breaking down in rush hour traffic? My air bag light is on and im having problems with high idle after replacing map sensors, and replacing the Throttle Body, and replacing the fuel pump my car is running horrible
The esp bass light and traction control lights and the brake light keeps lighting up on the dash of my 2008 Dodge Charger RT took it to a mechanic shop and told them what was going on replace the wheel speed sensor in the back and the rear axle the brake light no longer lights up but the ESP and the traction control light still light up on the car sometimes cannot find the issue or what's going on

The contact stated that while a female was driving the vehicle at an unknown speed with the contact's boyfriend and his older cousin as passengers in the vehicle, the driver crashed the vehicle into a wall. The contact stated that none of the air bags deployed upon impact. The contact's boyfriend and his cousin were unconscious and were transported to two separate hospitals by ambulance. The contact's boyfriend sustained injuries to his neck, hip, and back. The contact was not aware of the injuries sustained by her boyfriend's cousin but stated that prior to the collision, his cousin had surgery regarding a pacemaker. The female driver did not sustain any injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

PROBLEMS STARTING THE SWITCH GETS STUCK AFTER I TRY STARTING IT AND NO MY CAR DOESN'T START AT ALL DOESN'T EVEN TURN OVER LIGHTS AND FINGERS ALL ARE WORKING BUT WON'T CRANK
THE IGNITION SWITCH AND KEY FOB IS NOT WORKING AT ALL. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND WILL NOT START. APPARENTLY, THERE IS A LOSS OF FUNCTIONALITY.
MY CAR WAS WORKING FINE THEN I WENT TO START IT AND THERE IS A SOLID RED DOT UNDER THE FUEL GAUGE AND THE CAR DOESN'T TURN ON
THE CAR IS POORLY WINTERIZED, CAUSING MY ENTIRE FRAME TO RUST AND COMPLETELY FALL, THEREFORE LEAVING MY MOTOR SITTING ON TOP OF MY RATCH AND PINION AND ALMOST RESULTING IN MY DEATH. THIS CAR ISN'T OLD ENOUGH TO BE EXPERIENCING THESE PROBLEMS OR THE AMOUNT OF PARTS THAT RUST OUT OF IT.
MY STEREO, AND FRONT CHARGER PORT SHUTS OFF AND ON. I WENT TO THE GAS STATION TO GET SOME GAS. I WAS ON A CITY STREET IN ANAHIEM, CA. I PUT IN 25.00, BUT IT ONLY TOOK 21.78 WHEN I WENT TO START MY CAR IT WOULD NOT START. I SAT IN MY VEHICLE FOR AT LEAST THIRTY MINUTES TRYING TO START IT. I ENDED UP CONTACTING TRIPLE A FOR A TOW TO MY RESIDENCE.
I REPLACED THE LIFTERS ON THE ENGINE AND IT'S GOT A KNOCKING NOISE DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT NOW A RED LIGHTENING BOLT COMES ACROSS THE DASH AND I HAVE SCAN IT FOR CODES BUT NOTHING COMES UP. *TR

I WAS PLANNING TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THE TWO AIRBAG RECALLS FIXED. BEFORE I HAD THE CHANCE TO DO THAT ,FEBRUARY 22 ,2020, MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A MINOR ACCIDENT THAT IS STILL UNDER DISPUTE ,THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS BOTH DEPLOYED AND EXPLODED OPEN. WHILE DRIVING MY 2008 DODGE CHARGER ON THE FREEWAY, THE RADIATOR FAN SHROUD BROKE INTO PIECES AND PUNCTURED MY RADIATOR. I LOST ALL ENGINE COOLING CAPABILITIES AND NEEDED TO DRIVE HOME TO COMPLETE REPAIRS. UNFORTUNATELY BY THE TIME I GOT HOME, THE ENGINE OVERHEATED AND SIEZED. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF REPLACING THE MOTOR FOR $7,000. ANY HELP FROM THE MANUFACTURE POSSIBLE?
THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN EXPLODED AND PUNCTURED THE RADIATOR AS I WAS SITTING IN A RESTAURANT DRIVE THRU SPILLING THE COOLANT . VEHICLE TEMPERATURE GAUGE SHOWED EXTREME HOT TEMPERATURE. I FOUND A SERVICE CAMPAIGN BULLETIN REF # L08 ABOUT THE FAN SEPARATING DURING OPERATION AND CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE RADIATOR FOR DODGE VEHICLES FOR YEARS 2006-2008 THAT WERE MADE PRIOR TO APRIL 20, 2008. MINE WAS MADE JUNE 2, 2008 AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT OCCURRED WITH IT ON JULY 19, 2019. LUCKILY I WASN'T STRANDED OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE OR ON THE HIGHWAY OR INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON THE ROADWAY.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RADIATOR FAN MELTED AND PUNCTURED THE RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RADIATOR FAN AND THE RADIATOR HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY REPLACED DUE TO THE SAME FAILURE. DEALER SAYS WIN MODULE IS BAD. IGNITION GETS STUCK BETWEEN ON AND OFF POSITION RECALL ON OTHER MODELS FOR SAME ISSUE SAME YEAR BUT NOT THIS MODEL MADE IN SAME YEAR.
CAR WAS PURCHASED 06/28/2019; ODO 109,640. CAR WAS PURCHASED WITH A GWC WARRANTY SERVICE CONTRACT (90 DAY, 4,500 MILES) AND AT ASKING PRICE FROM A DEALERSHIP. (STATE LICENSE #[XXX]) CAR WAS PURCHASED AS ADVERTISED THAT IT WAS IT WAS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR STARTED SHOWING SIGNS OF SOMETHING WRONG WITH WHEELS AND THAT THE STEERING WHEEL RATTLED AGGRESSIVELY. THE CAR WAS TAKEN IN ON 07/01/19 (ODO 110,120) TO BIG JOHNS IN SANTA CLARITA; IT WOULD COST $1,624.68 TO REPLACE BECAUSE THE WHEELS WERE FOUND TO BE BENT AND TO BIG FOR THE CAR. THIS REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE SERVICE CONTRACT BUT WAS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. ON 07/11/19 THE CAR WAS BROUGHT INTO RICKS AUTOMOTIVE IN GRANADA HILLS (ODO 111,493). RICKS WAS A RECOMMENDED REPAIR SHOP FROM THE SERVICE CONTRACT PURCHASED. THERE WERE 11 THINGS REPORTED ON THE REPAIR ORDER 8 OF WHICH WERE SAFETY AND ENGINE CONCERNS. (1.) THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT DIDN'T WORK (2.) THE EMERGENCY/PARKING BREAK WAS NOT HOLDING. (3.) THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH DOES NOT STAY ON. (4.) THE SPEEDOMETER SOMETIMES OPERATES ERRATICALLY. (5.) THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE REVERSING. (6.) THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED HARD AND BANGS HARD. (7.) THERE WAS BLUEISH/WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST. (8.) CYLINDER HEAD GASKET MAY BE BLOWN. IT WAS FOUND THE THE HEAD GASKET HAD BENT VALVES AND TIMING CHAIN NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THESE WERE THE ONLY THINGS THAT WERE FIXED. $5,031.35 WAS OWED. WE PAID $1,359.03. GWC PAID REMAINDER. THE CAR WAS PICKED UP ON 08/13/2019 AT 4:30PM (ODOMETER 111,510). AT 7:30PM SAME DAY THE ENGINE WAS REPORTED SIZED (ODO 111,539) AND WAS TOWED BACK TO RICKS AUTOMOTIVE. THE DEALERSHIP FALSELY ADVERTISED THE CAR AS IT WAS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER WHEN IT WASN'T. IN A MATTER OF 1,852 MILES AND 13 DAYS THE CAR SHOWED A TOTAL OF 10 SIGNS OF SAFETY HAZARD TO NOT JUST ME BUT THE THOUSANDS OF OTHER DRIVERS I CAME ACROSS. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V567000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
STARTED SHAKING WHILE DRIVING FROM LONGVIEW TO KILGORE TEXAS AND ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN WHEN STOPPED ON A STOP LIGHT ENTERING HENDERSON TEXAS. HAD TO TURN OFF VEHICLE AND RESTART BUT CONTINED WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAD TO RETURN HOME BECAUSE IT FELT UNSAFE.
PERIODIC ISSUES WITH NOT WANTING TO START. THE KEY WOULD BE PUT IN AND TURNED, BUT IT WOULD NOT FIRE. THE KEY COULD BE TURNED OFF AND THEN WOULD START ON THE NEXT TRY. THEN, ON SATURDAY MAY 11, 2019 THE CAR WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE THE KEY BEING INSERTED AND TURNED TO THE ON POSITION.
I DROVE MY 2008 DODGE CHARGER 45 MINUTES HOME FROM WORK AND IT JUST SHUT OFF. BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND BEFORE I COULD PULL OVER THE CAR SHUT OFF. I JUMPED THE BATTERY AND IT STAYED STARTED FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES BEFORE IT DIED AGAIN. NOW IT WONT TURN OVER, NOTHING WORKING INSIDE CAR.

I PURCHASED A 2008 DODGE CHARGER V8 HEMI GOLD FROM THRIFTY MOTORS INC. AND I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION ACCORDING TO THE CONTRACT THAT THE CAR HAD 113,440 MILES ON IT. I LOOK AT THE INSPECTION STICKER AND IT SHOWS 114,000 ON 11/1/2018. I LOOK AT THE 2008 DODGE CHARGER GOLD VEHICLE HISTORY REPORT ON INSTAVIN AND I FOUND THAT ON 11/26/2018 THE CAR WAS SOLD AT AN AUCTION WITH 113,437 MILES ON IT.
CAR STARTED TO HAVE ISSUES WITH HESITATION AND STARTUP. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENLY. I SEEN ONLINE THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING SIMINAR ISSUES BUT CANT PINPOINT THE PROBLEM. I SEEN FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS, IACV, MISFIRING ETC. THE CAR THROWS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS BUT WHEN YOU PLUG THE CAR INTO A OBD 2 SCANNER IT SHOWS THE LONG TERM FUEL TRIM VERY HIGH AT 16.4 IN IDLE.

PETER KEANE, ATTY.) ECONOMIC LOST OF VEHICLE 2008 DODGE CHARGER. OVER THE PAST 8 MONTHS OBTAIN RENTAL CAR AT HERTZ IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,639.00.

OVER THE PAST WEEK ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN TRYING TO START VEHICLE STARTER WOULD NOT ENGAGE. USED DIFFERENT FOB'S WITH SAME RESULT. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO LESTER GLENN CHRYSLER/DODGE, TOMS RIVER, NJ. DIAGNOSIS WAS IGNITION MODULE. COST TO REPAIR $1,200. THIS OCCURRED WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
THE BLADE ON THE FAN BLADE BROKE OFF,AND STUCK A HOLE IN THE RADIATOR I WAS DRIVING AND I HEARD THIS NOISE,SMOKE STARTED COMING THRU THE VENT IN THE CAR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS PARKING THE VEHICLE, A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD UNDER THE HOOD AND THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE AND FLUID LEAKING ONTO THE GROUND. ALSO, THE RADIATOR FAN DETACHED AND ENTERED THE RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
THE WIPERS, TURN SIGNAL AND HORN DO NOT WORK. I HAVE CHANGED THE MULIFUNCTION SWITCH. THEY WORKED AGAIN FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS, NOW THEY ARE OUT AGAIN. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. (!) LIGHT AND SUSPENSION LIGHT, ARE ALSO ON. THOSE WERE NEVER ON BEFORE.
I DRIVE TO WORK EVERY DAY AND I CAN FEEL MY CAR SHACKING WHILE I HAVE THE CAR ON DRIVE. I HAVE EXPERIENCED MY VEHICLE SLIDING OF THE ROAD WITH OUT CONTROL. ALSO MY BREAKS HAS LOST CONTROL ON ME WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH. THESE ISSUES IM EXPERIENCING ARE VERY DANGEROUS AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE AT ALL DRIVING MY VEHICLE EVEN IF IM DRIVING SLOW. THE LAST OCCURRENCE HAPPENED 9/12/18, BUT THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THESE ISSUES ARE NOT REPORTED AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND CONSIDERED AS A RECALL.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED 2017 AND DIDN'T HAVE MANY ISSUES, JUST NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR, BUT THEN I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WHEN TRYING TO UNLOCK MY DOOR WITH MY KEY FOB TO A POINT I HAD TO KEEP MY CAR UNLOCKED BECAUSE I WASN'T SURE IF I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET IN WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. THEN, THE SAME KEY FOB WOULDN'T START MY CAR! I'D JUST PULL UP TO A STORE, HOP OUT THEN COME BACK AND 20MINS LATER I'M STILL TRYING TO TURN THE CAR ON AND THE ONLY THING THAT HELP WAS IF I JIGGLED IT A LITTLE AND SLIGHTLY PUSH IT IN, BUT WHAT SCARED ME WAS THE FACT THAT I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY AND MY CAR JUST STOPPED FOR NO REASON ALMOST CAUSING A MULTICAR ACCIDENT. I DECIDED TO REPLACE THE KEY AND HAD A NEW ONE REPROGRAMMED WHICH WORKED FOR A WHILE. I AM A DELIVERY PERSON AND ABOUT 6MONTHS AFTER THE NEW KEY I STARTED HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, BUT THIS TIME I HAD TO QUIT WORKING AND HAVE MY CAR TOWED BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T START BUT THIS TIME THERE WAS A RED LIGHT SAYING "ANTI THEFT"!
THE CAR DOES WITH NO WARNING. YOU LOOSE POWER STEERING, BRAKES, AND ACCELERATION ABILITIES. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE ON A SMALL STREET GOING ABOUT 35 AND ANOTHER ON FREEWAY GOING 70. I WAS ABLE TO GET IN SAFETY LANES AND START CAR BACK. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN SINCE IT DID ON FREEWAY. NO CODES APPEAR WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED.

AS A RESULT, THE SPEED INCREASED TO 100 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BLUEBONNET CHRYSLER DODGE (547 S SEGUIN AVE, NEW BRAUNFELS, TX 78130, (888) 850-2186) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
