THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED TO 25 MPH OR LOWER AND MADE A LOUD NOISE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE ABS SENSOR, TRACTION CONTROL SENSOR, THE GAUGES ILLUMINATED BEFORE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SHORTED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT AS THE VEHICLE REDUCED SPEED IT STALLED AND WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INCLUDED IN RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING ON A REMEDY FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE WHEN THE DEALER WOULD REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,600.

MY CHARGER COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND I WAS FORCED TO GLIDE TO A STOP IN TRAFFIC. THE DASHBOARD, BRAKES, AND STEERING ALL SHUT OFF AT ONCE. I WAS THEN UNABLE TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON AND FORCED TO TOW IT OUT OF TRAFFIC. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED ACCORDING TO THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT, MY DASHBOARD FLASHED BATTERY SAVER. I THOUGHT IT WAS MAYBE MY KEY FAB SINCE I WASN'T HAVING ANY OTHER ISSUES. WHEN I GOT HOME, I TRIED TO LOCK AND SET THE ALARM WITH THE KEY FAB AND IT WOULDN'T WORK. I TRIED LOCKING MY DOORS MANUALLY, AND IT WOULDN'T WORK THAT WAY EITHER. FINALLY AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS (AND THINKING FOR SURE IT WAS THE KEY FAB) THE CAR LOCKED MANUALLY. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR OUT THE NEXT DAY TO TEST IT AND HEARD A WHINING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND SAID BATTERY SAVER WAS FLASHED ON THE SCREEN AS WELL, AFTER HE CHANGED THE KEY FAB BATTERY. HE LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND SAID HE THINKS IT IS THE ALTERNATOR. DID SOME RESEARCH THE NEXT DAY AND FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL ON ALTERNATOR DUE TO BE ANNOUNCED ON 11/29/14. *TR

WHILE DRIVING MY 2011 DODGE CHARGER ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 55MPH, I STARTED TO HEAR A WHINY OR HISSING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD I CONTINUED TO DRIVE TO MY DESTINATION AND ALL OF A SUDDEN A BATTERY SAVER MODE LIGHT CAME ON THE BRAKES GOT REALLY HARD TO CONTROL THE CAR THEN IT JUST SHUTOFF . WITH THE BRAKES BEING THAT HARD TO PRESS TO CONTROL THE CAR IT WAS VERY HARD TO TRY TO PULL OVER THE SIDE OF THE RODE, I FINAL GOT THE CAR AT A COMPLETE STOP . I WAITED FOR A WHILE CAR STILL WOULDN'T START SO I HAD RELATIVE COME REMOVE THE BATTERY TO HAVE IT CHECKED AT AUTO ZONE WHICH THEY SAID THE BATTERY WAS GOOD JUST NEED A CHARGE ,THEY CHARGED THE BATTERY FOR ME WE GOT IT BACK IN THE CAR THE LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO MAKE IT HOME. THE NEXT DAY WENT OUT TO START THE CAR STILL HEARING THE NOISE AND THE BATTERY SAVER LIGHT WAS STILL ON WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO LOCAL PART STORE THEY CHECKED THE ALTERNATOR IT WAS NO GOOD THE GUY TOLD ME THE VOLTAGE THAT IT WAS GIVING OUT MY CAR WAS RUNNING ONLY OFF BATTERY SO I HAD TO RUSH BACK HOME BEFORE THE CAR SHUTDOWN AGAIN IN TRAFFIC WHICH WAS DANGEROUS TO ME AND MY UNBORN. I SPOKE WITH THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME SOUNDS LIKE MY ALTERNATOR IS BAD AND TO BRING IT IN FOR THEM TO CHECK WHICH IS $97.99+ TAX AND TOTAL REPAIRS WOULD BE AROUND 600-$750.00 WHICH IS TOTALLY UNAFFORDABLE. HE ALSO STATED ITS A KNOWN ISSUE BY CHRYSLER AND THEY WILL BEGIN A RECALL AND NOTIFY CUSTOMERS AT THE END OF NOVEMBER BUT WHEN I CALL CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY HAVE NO UPDATES . THIS IS THE 2ND RECALL SINCE I HAD THIS CAR I WAS THINKING ABOUT THE 2015MODEL AS MY NEXT CAR BUT THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING WITH DODGE I THINK NOT. I JUST WANT MY VEHICLE REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL GUIDELINES AND WISH THEY COULD START IT A LITTLE SOONER PLEASE! *TR

WHILE LEAVING WALMART THE CAR STARTED TO MAKE A WHINING LOUD NOISE THAT CAME FROM UNDER THE HOOD AT THE SAME TIME MY CAR MADE A SOUND AND BATTERY SAVER MODE CAME ON. THE LIGHTS FLICKERED ABS & TRACTION LIT UP ON THE DASHBOARD. THE RADIO STOPPED PLAYING AND WOULDN'T COME BACK ON. AS I STARTED TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR STOPPED COMPLETELY. I WASN'T ABLE TO MOVE THE WHEEL AND THE BRAKES WOULDN'T WORK. I CALLED MY NCO FOR A JUMP BUT IT DIDN'T HELP. THE CAR BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. I NOTIFIED CHRYSLER AND IS WAITING FOR A CALL BACK AS IT SEEMS THERE WILL BE A RECALL BUT IT WONT START UNTIL NOV 28. BEING IN THE ARMY I NEED TRANSPORTATION I HOPE CHRYSLER DON'T THINK I AM SUPPOSE TO GO WITHOUT A CAR UNTIL THEY START THE RECALL... THIS IS A DISGRACE, I HAD A CHEVY MAILBU FROM 2007-2012 AND IT NEVER ONCE HAD A RECALL LET ALONE 5, WORKED LIKE A CHARM! I OWN A 2011 DODGE CHARGER AND RECENTLY HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR. THE BATTERY LIGHT SUDDENLY APPEARED FOLLOWED BY THE ABS AND SKID CONTROL LIGHTS. MY VEHICLE SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY WITHIN A MATTER OF MINUTES. I HAD NO STEERING OR BRAKE CAPABILITIES. MY REPAIR COST TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR WAS $813.87. IN ADDITION TO THE ALTERNATOR ISSUE, MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON A WEEK AGO SO I WENT ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THE AIRBAG RECALL. UPON CONTACTING CHRYSLER I WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL ALTHOUGH THE DODGE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THIS TO BE THE SAME ISSUE /REPAIR AS STATED IN THE RECALL (AIRBAG WIRING HARNESS NEEDS REPLACING). *TR
BOUGHT 2011 CHARGER IN JULY, 2014. ON OCTOBER 22ND, I NOTICED A FUNNY SMELL, BUT COULD NOT LOCATE. ON OCTOBER 24, MY CAR STARTED MAKING A WHINING SOUND THAT GOT LOUDER OVER NEXT 3 MILES. I PULLED OVER TO A PARKING LOT, NOTICE SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER HOOD. I LIFT HOOD AND SEE OIL LEAKING OUT OF TIMING CHAIN COVER ONTO ALTERNATOR. MY CAR SHUT OFF, WON'T START, AND BATTERY SAVER MODE LIGHT FLASHING, GAUGES ACTING WEIRD, AND LIGHTS DIMMING. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES, I STARTED CAR TO GET HOME WITH IT, DROVE MAYBE 2 MILES AND CAR STARTED TO MELT DOWN INCLUDING WIPERS COMING ON, RADIO ON AND OFF, DOOR BUZZERS COMING ON, INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHT ON AND OFF, LIGHTS FLASHING, AIR BAG WARNINGS, ETC. THIS CONTINUED FOR NEXT COUPLE MILES UNTIL A COMPLETE SHUT DOWN RIGHT AT THE RAILROAD TRACKS! I BARELY GOT OUT OF LANE. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES, I GOT CAR TO START AND MADE IT OVER THE TRACKS TO A PARKING LOT. MY HUSBAND CAME, CALLED DODGE DEALERSHIP, THEY SENT TOW TRUCK THAT TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP. SERVICE MANAGER CALLED US 5 DAYS LATER, SAID IT WAS ALTERNATOR AND THEY WOULD FIX FOR $850. MY HUSBAND SAID NO, WE'RE NOT PAYING BECAUSE OF RECALL ISSUED ON OCTOBER 8TH, THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPAIR FOR FREE WITH BETTER QUALITY PARTS, AND THAT I NEEDED A RENTAL UNTIL MY CAR WAS FIXED, OR THEY COULD BY MY CAR BACK BECAUSE WE DON'T FEEL SAFE IN IT. SERVICE MANAGER DENIED RECALL, SAID IT WAS MEDIA HYPE, AND THAT HE WOULD HAVE SALES MANAGER CALL US. I CALLED AND MADE REPORT TO CHRYSLER CORP. AND NOW IS A CASE UNDER SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS, WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SETTLED IN 2 BUSINESS DAYS. STILL WAITING! SHAMEFUL! *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY EVERY INDICATOR ON MY VEHICLE DASH LIT UP WHICH CAUSED SOME ALARM AND CONFUSION FOR HIS DRIVER. APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS LATER, THE RADIO COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND THE PHONE CHARGER IN MY OUTLET PROCEEDED TO BLINK. THE RPM INDICATOR WENT UP TO 3 AND A JERKING MOTION ENSUED. I PROCEEDED DOWN THE HIGHWAY INTO A LEFT TURNING LANE SO THAT I MAY GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. FORTUNATELY, MY CAR MADE THE TURN AND MY DESTINATION WAS ONLY ABOUT 1.5 MILES FURTHER. WHILE PROCEEDING DOWN A SIDE STREET I NOTICED MY HEADLIGHTS WERE OUT, BUT WAS LUCKILY TWO HOUSES AWAY FROM MY DESTINATION AND COASTED INTO THE DRIVE, NOTICING THAT I HAD NO POWER. AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR, I WAS UNABLE TO GET ANY ELECTRICAL RESPONSE. ALL INTERIOR LIGHTS WERE OF AND THE TRUNK WOULD NOT OPEN NOR WOULD THE CAR LOCK. I PLAN ON CONTACTING THE DEALER AS I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE 2011 DODGE CHARGER ALTERNATOR. *TR

A WEEK AFTER MY INITIAL REPAIR/REPLACEMENT ON THE ALTERNATOR (NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL AT THE TIME) OF MY CHARGER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND YOU COULD SMELL GAS THROUGH THE AC SYSTEM. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP GARAGE AND THEY SCANNED THE CHECK ENGINE SYSTEM WHICH RETURNED A MINOR LEAK, BUT DUE TO THE FUEL SMELL, THEY ADVISED I DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR AND LEAVE IT WITH THEM FOR REPAIR. AFTER FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC I NEEDED TO GET THE RIGHT SIDE FUEL PUMP REPLACED ON THE CAR.

AFTER REFUELING MY 2011 DODGE CHARGER AND TURNING IT ON A STRONG SMELL OF GAS FILLED THE CAR. WHEN I PULLED OVER AFTER DRIVING A WHILE I CHECKED THE GAS TANK DOOR TO MAKE SURE IT WAS SEALED AND IT WAS. I WALKED AROUND THE CAR TO SEE IF I COULD SEE ANY LEAKS THERE WAS NONE BUT THERE WAS A STRONG GAS ORDER COMING FROM THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE DOOR/WHEEL AND BACK DRIVER SIDE DOOR/WHEEL, NOW I CAN ONLY FILL MY TANK HALF WAY. THE DRIVER SIDE A/C WAS MAKING A CLICKING SOUND WHENEVER I WOULD PUT IT ON AND IT WOULD TAKE A WHILE TO ADJUST TO THE SETTING I WOULD WANT. THE CLICKING NOISE WOULD CONTINUE WHILE THE A/C WAS ON .AFTER A WHILE THE CLICKING NOISE WOULD STOP BUT THERE WOULD BE A HUMMING NOISE. NOW THE DRIVER SIDE A/C ONLY BLOWS HOT AIR AND SO DOES THE BACK A/C.
FIRST OF ALL I HAD TO REPLACE MY BATTERY LAST MONTH WHICH I THOUGHT WAS THE PROBLEM, WHICH COST ME $185. I HAVE NOW LEARNED THAT THE PROBLEM IS MY ALTERNATOR. I WAS TURNING ONTO MY STREET AND MY BRAKE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT STARTED BLINKING AND I COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY BECAUSE MY 10 MONTH GRANDDAUGHTER WAS STRAPPED INTO HER CAR SEAT AND I WAS SCARED BECAUSE I COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. I WENT TO THE TRUNK BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE THE BATTERY IS LOCATED COULD NOT SMELL ANYTHING THERE. I WENT AND OPENED THE HOOD ON THE CAR AND COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. COULD NOT TELL WHERE THE SMELL WAS COMING FROM, BUT KNEW IT WAS FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE NEXT MORNING I WENT OUT TO SEE ABOUT MY CAR AND NOTHING WOULD WORK COULD NOT UNLOCK THE DOORS OR ANYTHING. DISCOVERED IT IS THE ALTERNATOR DUE TO THE FACT OF PLACING A JUMP BOX ON THE VEHICLE AND AS SOON AS THE POSITIVE WAS REMOVED THE CAR KILLED AND WOULD NOT FUNCTION. AFTER THAT THE "TRACTION CONTROL" LIGHT. THEN IT ALL WENT DOWNHILL FROM HERE PRETTY FAST. SEATBELT LIGHT CAME ON, A/C OFF, HEADLIGHTS DIMMING, THEN THE DASH WENT COMPLETELY BLANK,THEN THE CAR SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY, NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. THE ENGINE DIED AND HAD TOTAL LOSS OF ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH THAT I MADE IT HOME WHERE THE CAR JUST DIED THERE.AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, NOTICED A STRONG ELECTRICAL SMELL COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. NEXT DAY WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC CAR AGAIN WENT INTO BATTERY SAVER MODE AND I EXPERIENCED SAME POWER LOSS WITHIN A FEW MINUTES. CALLED DEALERSHIP AFTER I PARKED AT WORK AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN RIGHT AWAY. WENT BACK OUTSIDE TO SEE IF CAR WOULD START AND THERE WERE NO ISSUES. CAR RAN FINE AND DROVE FINE FOR OVER AN HOUR STRAIGHT AND THE REST OF THE DAY. THIS MORNING I GOT THE BATTERY SAVER MODE MESSAGE WHILE AT A STOP SIGN! I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND CAR IS STILL FINE SO FAR. I AM AFRAID THAT SOMETHING SERIOUS WILL HAPPEN WHILE I HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR. *TR
