WHILE DRIVING ON EXPRESSWAY VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY WENT INTO NEUTRAL. WOULD NOT GO BACK INTO DRIVE MODE. HAD TO VEER TO THE SIDE OF ROAD. VERY DANGEROUS ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS. WHEN VEHICLE STOPPED STILL COULDN'T PUT VEHICLE INTO DRIVE. TURNED CAR OFF VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON.
MY VEHICLE HAD 114K MILES ON IT AND WAS RUNNING SMOOTHLY WITH NO ERROR ON DISPLAY. TOOK IT IN FOR THE 100K MAINTENANCE AND NOW IT HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON IT, AND WHEN IT SITTING IDLE IT'S MISFIRING AND MAKING NOISES. BEFORE I TOOK IT IN, BEFORE THE TECHNICIAN REPLACE SPARK PLUGS MY CAR WAS GREAT NOW HE TELLING ME IT GOING TO COST 5K TO REPAIR IT
MY STEERING WHEEL WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT IS BECOMING DIFFICULT TO TURN AND MAKES SQUEALING NOISE WHEN TURNED. WHEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS TOLD TO ME THAT NOTHING WAS COMING UP WRONG WITH THE STEERING ON THE CPU. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE STEERING PUMP GOES TO MAKE ANY FIXES. AFTER RESEARCH MANY OF OTHER 2014 DODGE CHARGER USERS HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THEIR STEERING WHEEL COMPLETELY LOCKING OR LOSING ANY CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS.
MY CAR WAS PARKED WHEN I NOTICED OIL LEAKING FROM UNDER THE CAR. AFTER GETTING THIS ISSUE CHECKED OUT IT WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION IS WAS THE OIL FILTER HOUSING. AFTER CALLING SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS I WAS MADE AWARE THIS HAS BEEN A VERY COMMON ISSUE IN ALL DODGE/JEEP/CHRYSLER MODELS 2014. SO COMMON THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART IS ON 100,000 BACK ORDERED.
POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILURE.
PLASTIC OIL FILTER HOUSING CRACKED IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS CAUSING MULTIPLE PERSISTENT LEAKS. OIL LEAKS ONTO MANIFOLD. REPLACEMENT PART WAS RECEIVED WITH HAIRLINE FRACTURE PRESENT AND OIL LEAK PERSISTS. MECHANIC CONTRACTED LOCAL DEALERSHIPS AND RECEIVED 45 DAY BACK ORDER ON THIS PART. I CALLED MYSELF AND WAS GIVEN NO ETA ON NEW STOCK.
The contact owned a 2014 Dodge Charger. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, when the transmission detached from the vehicle which caused the axle to also detach. The contact stated she lost control of the vehicle and spun until crashing into the tunnel wall. The contact stated the front passenger-side air bag was deployed before the impact occurred. The contact did not sustain any injuries or seek medical attention. A police report filed. The vehicle was not drivable. The insurance company deemed the vehicle totaled loss. The vehicle was towed to a towing lot. The contact called local dealers, Tacoma Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM (4101 S Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA 98409:(253) 475-7300) and Larson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (2001 N Meridian, Puyallup, WA 98371: (253) 845-1725), made them aware of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V097000 (POWER TRAIN), however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
MY STEERING WHEEL HAS LOCKED UP ON ME WHILE I'M DRIVING AT LEAST 10 TIMES IF NOT MORE SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2014 DODGE CHARGER IN 2015. ALL THESE INCIDENTS WHERE AT DIFFERENT TIME PERIODS AND AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS RANGING FROM 0 TO 60 MPH. THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD STAY LOCKED FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES. EACH TIME THAT IT HAS HAPPENED, I'VE BEEN CLOSE TO HAVING AN ACCIDENT EITHER HITTING SOMEONE ELSE OR RUNNING OFF THE ROAD. I WOULD TRY TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON TO SEE IF IT WOULD LOOSEN BACK UP. SOMETIMES IT WOULD WORK, OTHER TIMES IT WOULDN'T. I'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO MULTIPLE MECHANICS AND THEY ALL HAVE SAID IT MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO SO WITH THE POWER STEERING SINCE THE VEHICLE IS ELECTRIC. I'VE THEN TAKEN IT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP TO GET IT DIAGNOSED AND THEY SAID NOTHING COMES UP ON THEIR TESTS THAT SHOWS STEERING WHEEL DEFECTS. I'VE ALSO CONTACTED THE ACTUAL DODGE MANUFACTURER BUT THEY WEREN'T OF ANY HELP EITHER UNLESS A RECALL POPS UP. I HAVE NO EVIDENCE TO SHOW THE PROBLEM OTHER THAN HORRIBLE PAST EXPERIENCES I'VE HAD WHILE DRIVING.
RECENTLY MY CAR WAS FOUND TO HAVE AN OIL LEAK. IT APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM THE HOUSING/COOLING UNIT FOR MY CAR. FROM DOING RESEARCH IT IS FOUND THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH ALL 2014 DODGE VEHICLES. THIS IS CAUSING OIL TO POOL IN THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE. THIS IF THE OIL IS NOT CHECKED REGULARLY CAN CAUSE A MASSIVE MALFUNCTION OF THE ENGINE OR EVEN A VEHICLE FIRE.

Additionally, the vehicle was bucking, surging, hesitating, lost motive power, and had an engine misfire. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the failure was due to premature wear of internal components within the engine. Additionally, the rocker arms, lifters, and camshaft were faulty. The contact was informed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The engine was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 206,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Charger. The contact received notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V018000 (Air Bags). The contact stated that the air bag housing had started to crack on the passenger’s side dashboard. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was scheduled an appointment; however, the contact was informed that the appointment needed to be rescheduled. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated however, there was an audible ding. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was awaiting a callback. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
2014 Dodge Charger electric power steering pump having issues turning steering wheel which I complain about 6 months ago after purchasing the vehicle for my son it a very serious problem concerning safety . They only recall 2014 Dodge Charger if the the power steering pump was install at specific Maufactured facilities, which is bs . Dodge should be responsible for any faulted power steering pump issue knowingly it exists. My son vehicle has this electric power steering pump issue and the manufacturer and Dodge dealer should replace due to safety issues. Please advise

2014 DODGE CHARGER WITH PENTASTAR V6 DEVELOPED LIFTER TAPPING AND CAM DAMAGE AT 117,000 MILES. ENGINE HAS HAD MAINTENANCE PERFORMED BEFORE OWNERS MANUAL GUIDELINES. WHEN ARRIVING HOME FROM WORK A LOUD TICKING SOUND WAS HEARD AND AT THAT TIME THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND TOWED TO DEALER WHO STATED THE CAMS WERE DAMAGED WHEN LIFTERS CAME LOOSE.
CAR STILL ROLLING AFTER COMPLICATED EFFORTS TO EXIT IN AND OUT OF VEHICLE AS THE CAR IS STILL IN GEAR IT KEEPS ON ROLLING. IT TAKES TREMENDOUS EFFORT AND CONCENTRATION OF THE POSSIBILITY OF DANGER WHENEVER EXITING IN AND OUT OF MY CAR. THIS IS PRETTY SCARY.
MY STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON THE SAME DAY I WENT UP A STEEP DRIVEWAY. IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE AS MY TIRES SLIPPED ON SOME SAND BUT THE LIGHT TURNED RIGHT OFF. THIS TIME IT HAS STAYED ON AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE MULTI-AXIS ACCELERATION SENSOR (AKA DYNAMIC SENSOR) INTERNAL FAILURE. FIRESTONE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS PART GOING OUT NOR HAS MY MECHANIC. I AM HOPING SOMETHING IS WRONG AND THIS PART GETS RECALLED AS I DO BELIEVE THE STEEP DRIVEWAY CAUSED THIS ISSUE WHICH SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. I AM ABLE TO STILL DRIVE MY CAR BUT THE CRUISE CONTROL IS NOW DISABLED AS THE CAR THINKS THE CAR CAN BE UNSTABLE/UNSAFE IN CRUISE CONTROL MODE.
FIRST MY CAR WOULD NOT DETECT MY KEYS (EVEN AFTER I REPLACED BATTER). WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD RANDOMLY COME ON AND OFF EVEN AFTER GETTING ALL REPAIRS COMPLETED. ONE DAY IT REPEATEDLY FLASHED ON AND OFF AND KEEPS CONSTANTLY. MY CAR WAS ALSO JUMPING AND VIBRATING EXTREMELY HARD AND THE ENGINE WAS TICKING. GOING SLOW OR SLOWING DOWN, MY CAR HAS A HARD TIME TURNING. I WENT TO AUTOZONE AND RAN AN DIAGNOSTICS. AFTERWARDS I TOOK IT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING AND WHAT THE DIAGNOSTIC SAID. I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN IT FIXED. MOREOVER, MY CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP AND I DO NOT HAVE A RENTAL. THE LAST TIME I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR RECALLS, I WAS TOLD THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY RENTALS AND I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE MY OWN. ALSO, THEY NEVER TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL WITH MY BRAKE CHOCKS WEREN'T REPLACED. THE INDIVIDUALS WORKING IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DIDN'T ACT REALLY PROFESSIONAL. THEY WERE DEMEANING AND SQUARING ME OF THINGS THAT I DIDN'T DO OR AGREE TO.
SAFETY AUTO PARK FUNCTION IS STILL STICKING EVEN AFTER THE RECALL REPLACEMENT- THE DEALER SAYS THE ONLY DO FOLLOW UP REPAIRS ON RECALLS 2 YEARS AFTER THE REPLACEMENT. I UNDERSTAND THE TIMEFRAME IS 10 YEARS NOT 2 BUT THEY WILL NOT HONOR
THE 2014 DODGE CHARGER WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AT BETWEEN 35 AND 40 MPH NONE OF THE VEHICLES AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THIS VEHICLE WAS UP-TO-DATE ON ALL OF ITS PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AND ALL RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE WHERE TAKEN CARE OF. THIS INCIDENT OCCURED AT WILLIAMS STREET AND E. UNIVERSITY IN DES MOINES IOWA JUST BEFORE 10PM ON SUNDAY NOVEMBER 01, 2020 THE DODGE CARGER WAS TRAVELING NORTH BOUND IN AN INTERSECTION WHEN THE OTHER VEHICLE (2014 CHEVY SILVERADO) BLEW THROUGH A RED LIGHT AND SMASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AT ABOUT 35 MPH.
ON 9/21/2020, MY CAR HAD AND PASSED A STATE & EMISSION INSPECTION. MY CAR WAS DRIVEN 200 MILES FROM DATE OF INSPECTION TO CURRENT DATE. WHEN I STARTED MY CAR THE "SERVICE AWD, ABS, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON IN PARK." TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 10/26/2020, THEY SAID IT WAS THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR AND ASKED, IF I MIGHT HAVE HIT A POTHOLE OR BUMPS ON THE ROAD. I WAS IN DISBELIEF, BECAUSE I ONLY DRIVE ON SMOOTH ROADS AND MY CAR IS BARELY MOVED. I'VE PURCHASED MY CAR BRAND NEW ON 9/19/2014 AND SIX YEARS LATER, MY MILEAGE IS AT 26,420. FROM NUMEROUS THREADS, POSTS AND COMPLAINTS, I'M SEEING A CONCURRENT PROBLEM WITH DODGE VEHICLES IN THIS MANNER. I STRONGLY BELIEVE YOU SHOULD LOOK DEEPLY INTO THIS MATTER, BECAUSE IT'S TOO COMMON AND COSTLY. CAR: 2014 DODGE CHARGE R/T AWD.
ALL CARS TO DATE HAVE SAME PROBEMS LIFTERS WILL GO OUT, INTAKE MANFOLD WILL SUCK OIL INTO THE AIR CHAMBER, SEALS REPLACEMENT WILL NOT FIX. CAR HAS HUGE ELEC PROBEM, CAR PUT TOGATHER IN SECTIONS SO THERE NO SOLD GROUND, SO ALL GROUNDING POINTS WILL FAIL. WITH 60K MILES I HAD REBUILD DRIVE TRAIN TRASFER CASE TWO AXLES FAILED, CAR SUFFERS FROM COMPUTER REBOOTING WICH FOR JUST SEC EVERYTHING RESET, AWD SYSTEM HAS PROGRAMING PROBEMS, THE MOTOR WILL FAIL AFTER WARENTY, THESE CARS WAS MENT TO BREAK DOWN, THEY MENT TO HAVE PROBEMS AS NO DEALERSHIP TALKS TO HEADCORDS AS THEY LOSE SO MUCH MONEY TO FIX THESE PROBEMS, I BEEN LIE TO BY ALL DODGE DELEAR SHIPS, PCM MUST BE UPDATED AS IN RECALL ONLY PART PCM WAS UPDATED ALL THE SERVICE BUILTIONS ON IT THEY NEVER FIX, IN FACK THEY TOLD ME TO LEAVE, SO NOW I CANT EVEN GET PCM UPDATED, TO NOTE TWO DELEAR SHIPS I WENT TO NONE IN THE SHOP WAS WAREING MASK NONE OF THEM I MUST ASK WHY THEY PUT MY LIFE AT RISK

PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT BEGAN FLICKERING OFF AND ON FOR MONTHS. FINALLY WENT OUT ALL THE WAY. REPLACED BULB. DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. CHECKED FUSES AS THIS SEEMED TO BE A COMMON ISSUE ON INTERNET FORUMS. DID NOT FIX ISSUE. NEXT STEP IS CHANGING HEADLIGHT PIGTAIL. I JUST SAW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2011-2012 CHARGER HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS. I BELIEVE THE DODGE NEEDS TO EXPAND THEIR RECALL AFTER ALL THE CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH ONE SIDED HEADLIGHT FAILURE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE CITY STREET AND AS I WENT TO TURN THE CORNER THE STEERING WHEEL WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN. IT TOOK ALL MY STRENGTH AND CAREFUL BRAKING NOT TO HIT THE CAR IN THE ONCOMING LANE OF TRAFFIC. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND THEY TELL ME THE POWER STEERING PUMP IS OUT. AFTER DOING A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE I FIND THAT THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON ISSUE. IT IS SO COMMON OF AN ISSUE THAT DODGE IS IN SHORT SUPPLY OF NEW POWER STEERING PUMPS WITH ONLY LIKE 3 IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA AT THE TIME OF THIS WRITING.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 58 MPH AND POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETY OUT! NO WARNING AT ALL! DASH LIGHTS WENT CRAZY. WARNING LIGHTS: SERVICE SHIFTER, SERVICE POWER STEERING, AUTO PARK DISABLED, CHECK ENGINE, THEN DASH LIGHTS STARTED BLACKING COMPLETELY OUT. VERY DANGEROUS! I TOOK TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAYS THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAS BEEN FIRED. AFTER READING THE ALTENATOR RECALL, THIA EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED! ALL RECALLS HAVE BEEN FIXED ON THIS VEHICLE. AFTER CONTACTING LOCAL DEALERSHIPS I LEARNED THAT THERE ARE 89 PEOPLE JUST IN MY AREA NEEDING THIS SAME PUMP AND IT IS ON BACK ORDER. THIS TELLS ME THAT THERE IS A HUGE PROBLEM. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! NOW $1800 TO FIX AN ISSUE THAT NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED WITH ALTENATOR RECALL COMPLETED. I NOW HAVE A CAR THAT I AM STILL PAYING FOR, CANT DRIVE,CANT AFFORD TO FIX, AND WONT SELL TO SOMEONE ELSE KNOWING HOW DANGEROUS THIS IS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE. I CANT IMAGINE THAT WITH ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN THAT THIS IS NOT AN ALL CONSUMING ISSUE AND PUTS MANY LIVES AT RISK
CAR HAS CHALLENGES STOPPING SAFELY AND THE SUSPENSION IS SECURED PROPERLY. EVEN AFTER INSPECTION STILL NO SATISFACTORY CONDITION

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, THE CONTACT CLOSED THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND WITHOUT WARNING A LOUD EXPLOSION OCCURRED INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT OPENED THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG, FRONT AND REAR CURTAIN AIR BAGS AND DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT HAD DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO OFFICE, CONTACTED THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER WHO ARRANGED FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE TOWED TO CROWN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM GREENSBORO (3710 W. WENDOVER AVE, GREENSBORO, NC 27407, (866) 642-2454) HOWEVER, THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER EMAILED THE CONTACT AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V467000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 190,000.
WHEN I DRIVING (I MOTION) I FEEL LIKE THE CAR WANTS TO TURN IT OFF BY IT SELF, THE PANEL LOOKS LIKE IF I TURN IT ON AND OFF, AND IT WONT START WHEN I SPEED UP
BACKING UP TO PARK, POWER STEERING COMPLETELY FAILED. HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED, NOT ABLE TO DRIVE. SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT POWER STEERING FAILURE. HAD I BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY, WOULD'VE CRASHED!
I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD THE ALTERNATOR FIXED ON RECALL AND THIS IS NOT TRUE. I HAD THE ALTERNATOR FIXED 1 YEAR AGO FOR $600 AND IT IS NOW MESSING UP AGAIN. I KNOW THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE AND IM NOT SURE WHY IT HAS ME CODED IN THE SYSTEM AS IF I ALREADY HAD THAT RECALL TAKEN CARE OF. PLEASE ADVISE.
BACKING OUT OF PARKING PLACE POWER STEERING LIGHTS LIT UP ON DASH, CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. STEERING COMPLETELY FAILED, HAD I BEEN ON THE ROAD WOULD HAVE CAUSED A TERRIBLE CRASH. HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED.
The power steering pump was replaced because of on and off stiffness while driving. This was very frightening because the steering wheel will not release while turning. The dealership replaced the pump about 3 times and still cannot correct the problem.
VEHICLE AIR COOLING SYSTEM FREQUENTLY SHORTS OUT, BLOWING HOT AIR INSTEAD, EVEN WHEN ON MAX COOL MODE. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS OR WHILE STATIONARY; BUT DEPENDING ON OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE CAN ALSO HAPPEN ON HIGHWAY. IT SOUNDS AS IF THE COMPRESSOR SHUTS OFF. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE SYSTEM RECHARGED THE LAST TWO SUMMERS AND HAVING THE SAME ISSUE NOW. NO FREON LEAKS WERE FOUND. *TR
THE DODGE CHARGER HAS A CRITICAL DESIGN FLAW ON THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP LOCATED BELOW THE DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER SEAT. THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING COVER IS PRONE TO CRACKING AND THUS RESULTS IN FUEL LEAKING OUTSIDE THE FUEL PUMP AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS. THE FUEL LEAKING WILL OCCUR REGARDLESS OF IF THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. THE POORLY DESIGNED FUEL PUMP COVER DOES VERY LITTLE TO CONTAIN THE FUEL INSIDE THE FUEL PUMP AND CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHERE PETROL IS BEING LEAKED INTO MANY DIFFERENT AREAS THAT CAN EASILY RESULT IN VEHICLE FIRES AND DEATH. MY DODGE CHARGER IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND THIS FUEL LEAK HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH VEHICLE MAINTENANCE OR DRIVING HABITS. THE FUEL PUMP IS SIMPLY DESIGNED IN A RECKLESS MANNER WHICH HAS ALREADY RESULTED IN MULTIPLE VEHICLE FIRES AND DEATH IN DODGE CHARGERS AND DODGE CHALLENGERS. I URGE YOU TO PLEASE ACT SWIFTLY IN RECALLING AND RESOLVING THIS MATTER BEFORE MORE LIVES ARE LOST. *TR
CAR DISPLAYING BATTERY SAVER MODE HAVE HAD BATTERY CHECKED AND ALWAYS WITH A PASSING DIAGNOSIS I HAVE GOTTEN CAR CHECKED AND IT MIGHT BE A FAULTY ALTERNATOR CAR HAS DONDE THIS SINCE STARTING OF SECOND YEAR OF PURCHASE BUT NEVER HAVE OUT MUCH ATTENTION TO THIS U TIL NOW THAT CAR SHUTS OFF AND HAVE TO GET JUMPED IN ORDER TO START I HAVE SEEN IN FORUMS THAT PEOPLE HAVE THIS ISSUE AND IS REOCCURRING IN THIS MODEL AND YEAR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER FOR SOME ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE CONTACT ALSO HAD A RECALL AND THAT WORK WAS COMPLETED. AFTER THAT VISIT, THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. THE CONTACT HAD HER BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR CHECKED OUT BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND ALL WAS FINE. AFTERWARDS THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN, THE RADIO AND THE A/C, AND THE WINDOW WIPERS WOULD TURN ON BY THEMSELVES. WHEN THAT HAPPENED THE ENTIRE CONSOLE WOULD LIGHT UP AS WELL. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER GOSSETT CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, RAM 1901 COVINGTON PIKE, MEMPHIS, TN 38128 (901) 363-6556 AND THEY SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY STILL UNREPAIRED AT THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
VEHICLE WAS MAKING A GRUMBLING NOISE AT VERY LOW SPEED WHILE TURNING IN ANY DIRECTION, SUCH AS BACKING OUT OR A DRIVEWAY & TURNING WHEELS TO FACE THE PROPER DIRECTION TO EXIT. THIS LED ME TO TAKE THE CAR INTO A VEHICLE REPAIR SHOP WHERE CERTIFIED ASI MECHANICS COULD INSPECT & HOPEFULLY REPAIR. WHAT THEY DISCOVERED WAS THAT THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL WAS FAIRLY LOW. THEY SIMPLY ADDED THE PROPER & SPECIFIC FLUID TYPE THAT IS USED IN THAT PARTICULAR VEHICLE MADE BY THE CAR MANUFACTURER MOPAR. THIS SURPRISINGLY FIXED THE ISSUE TO WHAT I AM ASSUMING WILL BE A TEMPORARY RESOLUTION. BASED ON MY OWN EXTENSIVE RESEARCH & COMMON KNOWLEDGE, I HAVE DISCOVERED THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE. SOMEHOW THE FLUID IS LEAKING, OR SEEPING OUT SOMEWHERE FROM THE ALLEGEDLY SEALED STEERING SYSTEM. WHAT I DISCOVERED BASED ON RESEARCH, IS THAT OBVIOUSLY A SEALED SYSTEM SHOULD NOT LEAK, OR SEEP, & WITH IT BEING SEALED IT CANNOT EVAPORATE. MOST ISSUES W/THE VEHICLE STEERING PUMP HAVE BEEN LEAKS FROM AROUND THE 2 SEALS OF THE RESERVOIR FLUID TANK. A REPLACEMENT TANK & SEALS CAN BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY RATHER THAN ENTIRE PUMP ASSEMBLY WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE. ANOTHER COMMON ISSUE IS THAT THE "RACK" OUTER SEAL LEAKS. UNFORTUNATELY THE ATF+4 STOCK FLUID IS AGGRESSIVE ON THESE SEALS & THEY CAN/WILL BECOME POROUS OVER TIME & LEAK. ADDITIONALLY, THE PUMP, IT'S HOSES, & THE SEALS ON THE ENDS OF THE RACK ARE NOW KNOWN AS LEAK POINTS. THE ENTIRE SYSTEM SHOULD BE RECALLED & REPLACED AFTER FIXING THESE ISSUES. IF THE FLUID BECOMES TOO LOW THE VEHICLE & ITS DRIVER/OCCUPANTS WILL EXPERIENCE A POWER STEERING FAILURE IN WHICH THE STEERING WILL SIMPLY SHUT DOWN & NOT PERFORM ITS FUNCTION - STEERING! I DON'T NEED TO COMMENT AS TO HOW EXTREMELY DANGEROUS THIS COULD BE; NOT JUST FOR OCCUPANTS IN THE SAID VEHICLE, BUT THE OCCUPANTS IN OTHER VEHICLES. MY YOUNG SON DRIVES THIS EXACT VEHICLE, & I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED. *TR
THE LED'S HAVE STARTED TO GO OUT (NOT ILLUMINATE) IN THE CENTER, DECK MOUNTED TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY. THIS IS A SAFETY ITEM AS IT PROVIDES REAR ILLUMINATION AT NIGHT. APPARENTLY, THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
WENT TO HAVE HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND IT PULLED UP MY AIR BAGS DIDN'T WORK
THE REAR FUSE BOX BURNT OUT IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR; ALMOST CAUSING A CAR FIRE AND THE FUSE BOX IS NONE OPERATIONAL BUT LOCATED NEXT TO THE TRANSMISSION, CONTROL PANEL,SEATS AND AIRBAGS FUSES AND MANY OTHER OPERATIONAL SAFETY FEATURES OF THE CAR. THE CAR HAS HAD ALL RECALLS, SERVICES, MAINTAINED METICULOUSLY WITH ONE OWNER NO ACCIDENTS.
ALL DASH INDICATORS STARTED FLASHING AND THERE WAS A MESSAGE STATING NOT TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK OR IT WILL NOT GO BACK INTO A GEAR. SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. IF THERE WERE TRAFFIC, IT WOULD HAVE. PARKED CAR, STARTED IT A FEW HOURS LATER AND EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. DRIVING ON RESIDENTIAL STREET AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT SUDDENLY AGAIN. SERVICE POWER STEERING MESSAGE HAS REMAINED AND THE POWER STEERING NO LONGER WORKS AT ALL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! I AM THANKFUL MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS NOT DRIVING ANY OF THE TIMES IT HAPPENED!
AS I WAS MAKING A TURN (CAR WAS IN MOTION ON STREET), THE STEERING WHEEL STIFFENED UP, THE CAR BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO CONTROL. AFTER COMPLETING THE TURN I PULLED INTO A EMPTY PARKING SPACE. I TURNED OFF THE AND THEN TURNED ON THE CAR. I THEN RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM THE CAR SAYING "SERVICE POWER STEERING". I DECIDED TO DRIVE AROUND THE BLOCK TO SEE IF THERE WOULD BE ANY CHANGE IN HANDLING OF THE CAR. THERE WAS NONE, SO I PARKED THE CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY.
IN MY CAR THE OIL FILTER ASSEMBLY WAS LEAKING OIL AND WAS REPLACED. I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH EVERY 3.6L ENGINE BY DODGE 2014 AND UP. I SPOKE WITH A DODGE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AND HE SAID IT WAS THE WORST DESIGN THEY HAVE EVER PUT ONTO THIS MOTOR DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF CARS THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I FEEL THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE DEALT WITH ASAP BECAUSE FOR NUMEROUS REASONS. FIRST REASON BEING OIL FLYING THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE CAB CAN CAUSE A FIRE. SECOND REASON BEING THAT OIL LEAKING WHILE DRIVING CAN CAUSE DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS FOR OTHER MOTORISTS WHETHER IT'S SLIPPING ON OIL LEAKED BY MY VEHICLE OR FROM OIL BEING SPRAYED UP FROM MY VEHICLE COATING THEIR WINDSHIELD. ALSO ANOTHER DANGER FOR ME THE OPERATOR IS THE NAUSEOUS SMELL OF OIL BURNING GOING THROUGH MY HEATING SYSTEM IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I HOPE THAT YOU SEE THIS COMPLAINT AND TAKE IT SERIOUS AND INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE BECAUSE I TRULY FEEL THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS HAZARD. I HAVE SINCE HAD THE PART REPLACED WITH AN UPGRADED PART THAT DODGE OFFERS. AND I HAD IT INSTALLED BY THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM DUE TO BEING MUCH CHEAPER. THANK YOU!
CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000 MILES. DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT HIGHWAY SPEED, CAR SUDDENLY POPPED 3 LIGHTS; TRACTION CONTROL, ABS, AND THE PARKING BRAKE INDICATOR. REPAIR SHOP HAS DIAGNOSED AS THE ABS MODULE NEEDING REPLACEMENT. THERE ARE NO OTHER SYMPTOMS BESIDES THE WARNING LIGHTS AND CRUISE CONTROL NOT WORKING. AT THIS TIME I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING IF ANY OF THESE SYSTEMS HAVE ACTUALLY FAILED SINCE THE ABS MODULE HAS SHUT OFF THESE SYSTEMS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CRYSTAL CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF BROOKSVILLE 14358 CORTEZ BLVD, BROOKSVILLE, FL 34613 (352) 597-1265 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIFTER AND CAMSHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO REFERRED CONTACT BACK TO THE LOCAL DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
WHILE DRIVING ALL THE WARNING ON THE DRIVERS PANEL STATED TO DING AND WARNING TO NOT PUT CAR INTO PARK OR IT MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE PUT BACK INTO GEAR. THE SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING, THEY STAYED IN MAKING ALL SORT OF NOISE FOR A COUPLE MINUTES. POWER STEERING WAS NOT WORKING ALL OF A SUDDEN EITHER. I ALMOST WRECKED INTO THE CAR BESIDE ME. PARKED THE CAR ONCE I GOT HOME, BOYFRIEND LOOKED AT IT AND IT SEEMED FINE TO HIM. THIS HAPPENED A COUPLE DIFFERENT TIMES SINCE THEN. THE POWER STEERING WILL JUST STOP WORKING. THE SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT COMES ON NOW AND THEN. IT IS DANGEROUS! I AM JUST HAPPY MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT DRIVING WHEN IT HAPPENED, THAT COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC AS SHE HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVING JUST UNDER 2 YEARS. THE CONTACT STATED HE HAD THE TIRES REPLACED BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS NEEDING TO BE REPLACE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V097000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
