WIFE DROPPED ME OFF AT WORK AND LITERALLY THE SERVICE POWER STEERING SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH. THEY VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING AND THIS HAPPENED OUT OF NOWHERE. THANKFULLY SHE WAS STOPPED IN A PARKING LOT WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND THE POWER STEERING QUIT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO VISIBLE WARNING INDICATORS WHILE THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ACTIVATED AND THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED TO THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ARRIGO DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM SAWGRASS, (5901 MADISON AVE, TAMARAC, FL 33321, (954) 626-8811) AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT A NEW BATTERY WAS ALSO NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
BETWEEN 30-60 MPH, AWD TRANSFER CASE ACTUATOR KEPT DISENGAGING/ENGAGING WHILE DRIVING. SLIGHT JARRING OF CAR OCCURRED WHEN ACTION HAPPENED. IT WAS TAKEN TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP IN NOV 2019 AND A SOFTWARE UPGRADE WAS PERFORMED WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE RESOLVED THE ISSUE. I HAD TO PAY ~$68 FOR THIS SERVICE. GOOGLE/WEB DISCUSSIONS SHOW THIS IS A BROAD ISSUE AMONG THE DODGE CHARGER AWD, AND SHOULD PROBABLY BE CONSIDERED A COMPANY-COVERED RECALL/REPAIR RATHER THAN A CHARGE BORNE BY CAR OWNER.
THE HARNESS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG BURNED UP AND HAD TO BE REPLACED.
POWER STEERING PUMP ALL OF A SUDDEN, JUST WENT OUT. LUCKILY I WAS PARKING MY CAR AT HOME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR PRESSURE SERVICE MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS BLANK. ALSO, THE "KEY FOB WAS NOT DETECTED" MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT CALLED SCOTT EVANS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2280 BANKHEAD HWY, CARROLLTON, GA, (770) 834-5050) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,700.
THE OIL COOLER HAS CRACKED CAUSING OIL TO LEAK WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY CAUSING NEARING $800.00 TO REPAIR.
TODAY MY CAR TURNED OFF ALL OF A SUDDEN OUT OF NO WHERE. I HAVE STATED TO THE DEALER FOR YEARS THAT IT IS NOT NORMAL FOR A CAR TO SAY BATTERY SAVER MODE AND LIGHTS, RADIO, DASH AND ALL ELECTRICAL DEVICES IN A VEHICLE TO TURN OF OR STUTTER OF AND ON. THEY SAID IT IS NORMAL AND THAT IT IS MY BATTERY. IF A CAR TURNS ON THE ALTERNATOR IS SUPPOSED TO TAKE ALL THE LOAD OFF OF THE BATTERY RUNNING IN THE ENGINE NOTHING ELSE. MY CAR HAS STUTTERED MULTIPLE TIME OFF AND IN WHILE DRIVING AND EVEN ALMOST TURNED OFF. THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR DRIVING AROUND, BECAUSE CAR COULD TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND I LOSE ALL CONTROL OFF THE VEHICLE STEERING, BRAKES AND ACCELERATING. WHEN I THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF TODAY I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND THE CAR STARTED TO STUTTER AND THEN IT JUST TURNED OFF WHEN THE GREEN LIGHT TURNED ON. I WAS UNABLE TO TAKE A PICTURE TODAY AND I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND IT IS ILLEGAL TO DRIVE AND USE A PHONE. I HAVE MULTIPLE PICTURE FROM THE PAST BUT WAS ONLY ABLE TO UPLOAD ONE
Front door airbags. Door trim has separated from the frame. This may impact airbag functionality. I have noted many issues and complaints about this problem. It is common across the Dodge line, not just charger or challenger.
2014 DODGE CHARGER HAS POWER STEERING FAILURE, NO ACCIDENTS TO CAUSE DAMAGE HAVE OCCURRED. POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT BUT WILL OCCASIONALLY FUNCTION FOR SEVERAL SECONDS CAUSING POTENTIAL CRASHED AT HIGH SPEEDS ON FREEWAY. THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE OVER SEVERAL MONTHS AND WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES TO HAVE IT.
I took my vehicle into my nearest dodge dealership, which is about an hour away from where I live. I had scheduled an appt. with them over the phone in which I had to wait because they didnt have the "parts"in for the recall. This specific recall was to repair or replace the PCM, or update it if it could be. I waited for weeks, and never heard anything back from the dealer, finally I was able to secure an appointment with them. They kept my car all day and I had to hound them to be able to come get my car as they never contacted me to let me know if it was done so I could pick up my car before they closed. Finally I called and 10 min before they closed I was told my car was completed. When I went to pick up my car it was still in the back lot and parked very tightly between other cars. My 2014 Dodge Charger's heat was all the way up and this was during the summer, and it still had the throw away car mats covered in dirt inside. After carefully backing the car out of their back lot I went upon my way. I had to reset my clock as well. About 4 months go by and my check engine light came on and my vehicle was reading misfire on cylinder 1, the light remains on, the vehicle shudders at idle and smells of fuel on start. Covid happened and i was not able to get my vehicle in to the manufacturer but did get in to my local mechanic and they could not find the problem but saw what the car was doing and suggested to take it to the manufactuer again, please note it is 48 miles from my home. I was unable to address this issue until now and it occured to me that the PCM can cause these problems and due to the lack of confidence and lack of courtesy I believe that they did nothing in regards to the recall.

THE CONTACT WENT TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE ( 28 WEEKS IN TO THE PREGNANCY ) . TREATED AND RELEASED ( BACK AND NECK PAIN )VEHICLE NOT REPAIRED.POLICE REPORT UNAVAILABLE. MANUFACTURER NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 66,000.
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON THE HIGHWAY I NOTICED THAT THE HOOD OF MY CAR SHAKING, SO I PULLED OVER TO CHECK WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE HOOD.AFTER CHECKING THERE WASN'T ANYTHING SEEMINGLY WRONG AND HOOD LOOKED OK TO ME, SO I PULLED OFF AND PRECEDED TO DRIVE AGAIN ON TO DRIVE A FEW FEET AND MY HOOD JUST FEW BACK HITTING THE WINDSHIELD AND BENDING THE HOOD IN A FEW PLACES. AS A RESULT MY HOOD WON'T CLOSE BE CAUSE OF THE HOOD AND THE LATCH IS BROKEN.
WHEN DRIVING MY VEHICLE THEIR IS A KNOCKING NOISE IN MY FRONT RIGHT WHEEL, ALMOST SOUNDS AS IF SOME BOLTS ARE LOOSE. ALSO WHEN PULLING IN TO BACK UP, WHEN I TURN MY STEERING WHEEL A CERTAIN WAY THEIR IS A FUNNY CLICKING SOUND IN THE STEERING WHEEL, AND FUNNY SOUND IN THE BRAKE WHEN I AM BACKING MY CAR INTO MY DRIVE WAY. I BELIEVE THAT THIS MAY BE AN ISSUE WITH A RECALL THAT HASN'T BEEN LOOKED INTO.
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY DEFECT CAUSES CAR TO CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. LIGHTING BOLT FLASHES THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. I WAS DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN THE WARNING LIGHTS FLASH BOLT AND ENGINE THEN THE CARS SHUTSOFF. VERY DANGEROUS
PCM FAILURE WHICH IS CAUSING THE CAR TO CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. DIAGNOSTIC WAS A BAD. PCM LIGHTING BOLT WARNING SIGN AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO HESITATE AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE PISTONS AND THE CYLINDER HEAD NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO TEMPE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (7975 S AUTOPLEX LOOP, TEMPE, AZ 85284) WHERE THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE SAME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
AROUND 70K MILES I NOTICED MY CAR NOT WANTING TO TURN LEFT, ESPECIALLY WHEN BRAKING. THE WHEEL SEEMS TO LOCK UP AND IS VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. I ALSO NOTICED A KNOCKING, RATTLING TYPE NOISE, THAT SEEMS TO COME FROM THE WHEEL AREA, WHEN TURNING EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT AND AT LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS. I TOOK MY CAR TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP TO BE CHECKED. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED NEW BRAKES, ROTORS AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS REPLACED. WHICH I HAD THEM REPLACED. I TOOK CAR BACK BECAUSE IT IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING, I WAS TOLD THEY DO NOT SEE OR KNOW ANY REASON WHY IT'S STILL HAPPENING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, CODES PS401 AND P06DD WAS REPORTED. THE LOCKING OF THE WHEEL IS OCCURRING MORE FREQUENTLY AND I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE RESULT WAS INCONCLUSIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO RIVER OAKS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (4807 KIRBY DR, HOUSTON, TX 77098) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH INTERNAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPAIRED ON 2/26/20 BUT IS MALFUNCTIONING AGAIN AS OF 06/13/20. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.*DT*JB
I NOTED THAT THE TOP EDGE AND UPPER EDGES ON BOTH SIDES OF MY LAMINATED WINDSHIELD HAS WHAT APPEARS TO BE LITTLE BUBBLES. THIS HAS ME CONCERNED SINCE IT APPEARS THAT THE LAMINATED WINDSHIELD IS BEGINNING TO SEPARATE.

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO WILSON FORD LINCOLN (2231 US-250, WHITE HALL, WV 26554, (304) 363-0500) AND THEN TO COUNTRY CLUB CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1251 MILFORD ST, CLARKSBURG, WV 26301, (304) 624-7611). THE DEALERS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BOLT ON THE DRIVESHAFT LOOSENED AND CAUSED IT TO DETACH. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V097000 (POWER TRAIN) . THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
THE DOOR PANELS HAVE BECOME UNGLUED VERY SIGNIFICANTLY
I BOUGHT A USED 2014 DODGE CHARGER LESS THAN A MONTH AGO . I HAVEN'T MADE MY FIRST PAYMENT AND HAVE TO REPLACE THE OIL FILTER HOUSING AND NO A PROBLEM WITH MY BATTERY SAVER INDICATOR SHUTTING OF FUNCTIONS OF THE CAR WHILE DRIVING . DEALER HAS RECOGNIZED THE ISSUE BY UNWILLING TO PAY FOR ALL COST AND PARTS OF REPAIR .

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BUT NOTICED THAT SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE TRUNK WAS UNLOCKED AND THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE BATTERY WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WAS NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE TO THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR INSPECTED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. PIIR = Y. AH

ONCE WHILE DRIVING. HAPPENS WHEN I ADJUST THE STEERING WHEEL LEVER TO GO UP OR DOWN WAS FIXED OVER A MONTH AGO FOR THE FIRST INCIDENT (WARRANTY COVERED MOST) I STILL HAD TO PAY SOME OUT OF PICKET... HAPPENED AGAIN A FEW WEEKS AGO! IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR OVER 20 DAYS FOR THE FIRST INCIDENT NOW I'LL NEED IT TO BE FIXED AGAIN.. SAME ISSUE VERY UNSAFE I COULD HAVE WRECKED HOW DOES THE STEERING WHEEL JUST COME OUT... TWICE!? FILED A CORPORATE COMPLAINT NOW TWICE WITH DODGE/CHRYSLER MY ALIGNMENT IS STILL OFF TIRES THAT ARE NEW ARE SMOKING DUE TO NOT BEING FIXED PROPERLY TOTAL CARE AUTO CERTIFIED PRE OWNED WARRANTY SENT ADJUSTER AND SAW THE FIRST INCIDENT AND PAID $$$ THOUSANDS TO FIX THIS. NOW IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN... LOOKS LIKE IT HAS NEVER BEEN FIXED AND THE WHOLE ROD AND WHEEL ARE OUT AGAIN ONCE AGAIN MY CAR IS BROKEN AND NEEDS TO BE TOWED JUST BECAUSE I ADJUSTED THE STEERING WHEEL .... THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SPITZER CHRYSLER DODGE (13001 BROOK PARK RD, BROOK PARK, OH 44142) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE ON 6-14-19 FCA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,828. *BF *JB
WHILE DRIVING FREEWAY, HIGHWAY, IN A PARKING LOT OR AT A STOP LIGHT MY CARS ELECTRONICS ARE SHUTTING OFF AND OCCASIONALLY THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND MY STEERING LOCKS UP. SOUNDS LIKE THE P60 RECALL BUT MY CAR VIN DOES NOT QUALIFY BUT HAD ALL THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. THIS CAR IS MY ONLY WAY TO WORK AND IT'S BEEN GETTING WORSE AND I HAVE BEEN DENIED A FIX ON THIS. THIS IS NOT SAFE AT ALL
THE PANELS ON THE DOORS ARE WARPING AWAY FROM THE WINDOWS AND THE PANELS ON EACH SIDE OF THE SHIFTING CONSOLE ARE ALSO WARPED OUT. IT WILL CREATE A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THE DOOR PANELS PREVENT THE AIRBAGS FROM DEPLOYING OR THE CONSOLES COME OFF PREVENTING A SAFE DRIVER OR THE PANELS GET UNDER THE LEGDS OR PREVENT THE DRIVER FROM SAFELY REACHING GAS PEDDLE.
LAST YEAR I STARTED TO HEAR A BANGING SOUND FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. BROUGHT IT TO A MECHANIC (CARMAX) AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THEY WERE UNSURE. SO I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID I HAD A NAIL IN MY TIRE SO I WENT AND GOT IT FIXED. THE SOUND STILL HAPPENING I WENT BACK, THIS TIME THEY RECOMMENDED CHANGING THE REINFORCEMENT TUNNEL. AFTER THAT THE SOUND WAS STILL THERE AND THEY RECOMMENDED CHANGING THE REAR SHOCKS, DID THAT AND SOUNDS STILL THERE. THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING VISIBLE THAT IS WRONG SO EVERYTHING IS FINE. IF EVERYTHING IS FINE WHY THE SOUND. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR AND IT IS JUST ANNOYING AND SCARY TO CONSTANTLY HEAR THAT BANGING NOISE. IT ONLY HAPPENS AT LOW SPEEDS AND IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING FORWARD AND IN REVERSE. *TR
ON HIGHWAY GOING 65MPH.CAR STEERING LOST CONTROL AND PULLED SHARP RIGHT OFF ROAD. COULD NOT STEER OR BRAKE. ALL LIGHTS ON PANEL WERE LIT UP. ROAD IN THE DITCH AT 65MPH AND RAMPED A DRIVEWAY AND STILL COULDN'T STEER OR BRAKE.FINALLY CAR CAME TO A STOP ON ITS OWN OR DUE TO IMPACT AND HIGH BRUSH IN THE DITCH.
I HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR, SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE STEERING WHEEL ROD/COLUMN COMPLETELY COME OUT IN MY LAP.. ONCE WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE ALREADY HAD IT FIXED BY MY CERTIFIED PREOWNED WARRANTY AND ONCE AGAIN IT HAS DONE IT. THIS TIME IT TOOK OFF MY WINDSHIELD WIPER LEVER, IT HAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED MY INTERIOR AND UNFORTUNATELY THE WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THAT WHICH IS NOT FAIR. REMEMBER THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN AND ROD IS VERY HEAVY AND DOES MUCH DAMAGE WHEN IT FALLS IN YOUR LAP WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER, IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, I HAVE ONLY SERVICED AND BOUGHT IT FROM A DODGE DEALERSHIP. THE CAR NOW HAS 69,000 MILES AND RECENTLY WAS FIXED OVER A MONTH AGO AND ISSUE STILL REMAINS. I HAVE REPORTED THIS WITH FCA CORPORATE, THIS IS NOW MY THIRD REPORT AND COMPLAINT WITH THE VEHICLE SAFETY DEPARTMENT, NOW TWO OPEN SAFETY CLAIMS WITH CHRYSLER CORPORATE IN DENVER AND ALSO HAVE HAD THE REPAIRS DONE ONCE BY LARRY H MILLER I AM TRYING TO GET THE SAME REPAIR DONE AGAIN BUT NO ONE WILL RETURN MY PHONE CALLS AND NO ONE IS WILLING TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY OF THIS VEHICLE AND FIX IT. TOTAL CARE WARRANTY HAS A CONTRACT WITH LARRY H MILLER FOR 12 MONTHS OR 12,000 MILES THAT THEY MUST FIX THE REPAIRS NO MATTER WHAT. LARRY H MILLER CLAIMED THAT TOTAL CARE WAS NOT GOING TO COVER THE FIXES EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE THE ONES THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO FIX IT. FRAUD, LIES, UNSAFE AND UNPROFESSIONAL PRACTICES. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT TWICE NOW. THE STEERING WHEEL LITERALLY FALLS OUT WHILE I AM ADJUSTING IT UP OR DOWN EVEN IF I AM GOING SLOW OR IN PARK. NO ONE WILL FIX MY VEHICLE, NO ONE WILL CALL ME BACK. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM SINCE I AM THE FIRST AND ONLY OWNER, AND THEY WILL NOT RETURN MY PHONE CALLS. TAKATA RECALL. I HAD TO WAIT OVER TWO MONTHS TO GET AN APPOINTMENT TO GET MY AIRBAG RECALL FIXED. UPON GETTING TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME THEY DIDNT HAVE THE PARTS. WHY DIDNT THEY CALL ME? THEY HAVE NOT TOLD ME WHEN THEY WILL FIX THIS. I HAVE INSTRUCTED FAMILY IF I GET IN AN ACCIDENT AND DIE OR GET SERIOUSLY INJURED TO SUE. THIS IS CRAZY I HAVE TRIED THREE TIMES TO HAVE THIS FIXED AND THEY NEVER HAVE PARTS OR CALL ME AND CANCEL.
AFTER THE PCM / TCM CRUISE CONTROL RECALL SERVICE, THE TRANSMISSION HAS NOT BEEN THE SAME. THE SHIFTING IS ALL OFF AND THE TRANSMISSION LUNGES AND CLUNKS. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. THEY REPORT THE TRANSMISSION IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. WHEN CLEARLY IT IS NOT. THE CAR LUNGES FORWARD WHEN COMING TO A STOP.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PARKWAY CHRYSLER DODGE (21560 HALL RD, CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI 48038) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE STEERING RACK NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.

DEFECTIVE LEFT CYLINDER IN PENTASTAR 3.6VL ENGINE. MY CAR WAS BUILT IN SEPTEMBER 2013. IT HAS THE CONSTANT TICKING AND PUTTERING ASSOCIATED WITH THE DEFECT. DRIVES FINE, MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, BUT WHEN IDLE IT SHAKES/KNOCKS UNCONTROLLABLY. MY MECHANIC EDUCATED ME ON THE DEFECT AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS AT REPAIRING THE SEVERE MISFIRING. CONTACTED DODGE AND CHRYSLER AND WAS INFORMED THAT BECAUSE MY CAR IS A 2014 CHARGER IT DID NOT HAVE THE 150,000 EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR HIS KNOWN DEFECT IN CHARGERS FROM 2011-2103; NOTING MINE WAS BUILT IN 2013.

ALTERNATOR RECALL THAT MATCHES EXACT ISSUE, MAKE (DODGE), MODEL (CHARGER), YEAR (2014), AND ENGINE SIZE OF CAR (3.6L V6). ALTERNATOR MALFUNCTION CAUSED SHORT CIRCUIT OF HYDRO-ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PUMP. INDICATOR LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLASH AND CAR WOULD BEGIN TO STALL WHILE IN OPERATION UNTIL EVENTUALLY DYING COMPLETELY. ALERTED THAT VIN NUMBER WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND HAD TO HAVE ALL WORK DONE AT LOCAL MECHANIC.

DURING THE INCIDENT THE FRONT END AND SIDES OF THE VEHICLE WERE SEVERELY DAMAGED BUT NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD, LEFT ARM, RIGHT HIP, BACK AND LEFT LEG INJURIES DURING THE CRASH THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,412.
WHILE IN MOTION THE VEHICLE WILL SHIFT DOWN SO THE ENGINE REVS UP UNTIL THE BRAKE IS PRESSED. THIS HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY AND ON THE HIGHWAY. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM SINCE IT STARTS SHIFTING GEARS ON IT'S OWN. THE VEHICLE HAS NOW BEEN DOING THIS SINCE 2/16/19 AND HAS DONE IT ALMOST EVERY DAY SINCE.
