The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that upon driving from the dealer's parking lot after the dealer had performed the recall repair under NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V542000 (Power Train), the transmission was shifting hard. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer the following day. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was related to the wheel bearing; however, the contact stated that the failure started to occur after the recall repair was performed. The contact stated that after driving approximately 12 miles on several occasions, the vehicle stalled while driving. The contact stated that the vehicle was able to restart after approximately twenty minutes. The message "Service Transmission - Auto shift Not Available" was displayed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 161,000.
May 2020 - informed of a transmission shifter cable recall , addressed and fixed 05/14/2020 March 11th 2024 - transmission shifter cable failure.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she smelled a gasoline odor on the interior of the vehicle, after which several unknown warning lights on the instrument panel started flickering. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway to shut off the vehicle, after which the vehicle failed to restart. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed failures with the alternator and the ignition switch. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic, who then diagnosed a failure with the transmission control module. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V542000 (Power Train) but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. The failure mileage was 180,000.
While driving on the interstate, the vehicle shifted itself into neutral and would not shift back into drive. At highway speeds, I had to put the hazards on and coast to an exit safely.
When a passenger is in the car, the air bag light and an audible alert constantly go off while driving. Took it to the dealership and they say this: "it's a seat belt buckle sensor circuit causing orc. light wires are connected and not damaged" To me, the words "not damaged" indicate that this is not our fault. Of course we're not going to let our daughter continue to drive the car like this, but I feel like $522.79, which is what they're charging, in addition to a $99 misc. fee that I don't know what is, is WAY too much for something that I thought would be considered a safety issue.
I was driving and my car shifted to neutral by itself. I was crossing a 2 lane highway when it happened but thankfully I was able to shift back to drive. I was also using cruise control and i tapped my brakes which would usually cancel cruise control, but my car sped up instead of slowing down. My dealership said my car doesn't qualify for the recall even though it is exactly what is happening to my car. I have 2 young children and this is our only transportation. I need this car to be safe for us though. The dealership said they couldn't look at it for over a week.
On January 1, 2024 I was getting in my car to go to work. My car would not shift into drive, or reverse. It said "gear not available" After about 30 minutes, it finally went into drive. While driving to work, my car shifting into neutral on it's own. I took my car to a local transmission shop where they said it was the dual clutch that needed to be replaced. SO it was replaced. The issue still persisted and they said it was the hydraulic actuator. I took it to my local Dodge dealership where they said it the TCM needed replaced. So that was replaced. They are now saying it is the hydraulic actuator and odd shift actuator. My car is still at the local Dodge dealership because I can not afford the extra $8000 to fix it. I had no codes show up before January 1, 2024. I have reached out to Dodge and Stellantis about all of the issues and trying to receive financial help. There were recalls in 2015-2016 for the TCM.
Jumping into neutral while acceleration up on ramp
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shifted into neutral without warning. The contact stated that the vehicle would not shift into drive or reverse with a message stating that the gear was not available. The service transmission warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local transmission and a diagnostic test was performed. The contact was informed that the dual clutch was inoperable. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that after further diagnostic testing, it was determined that the Transmission Control Module and actuator had failed. The contact stated that as per the Mopar website, the vehicles was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V542000 (Power Train). The contact informed the dealer of the failure and was instructed to take the vehicle in for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not yet towed to the dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000.
The transmission is completely faulty. The transmission modular that was recalled I replaced that already. The transmission needs to be replaced completely. I've found articles that the Dodge Chrysler had recalled transmissions for the same year make and model. I want to have it replaced with a new one. Contact me at [XXX] [XXX] or [XXX] . thanks. Driving down a country road as I was about to turn into my driveway the dash stated " Check Electric Brake System" as I tried to apply the brake. I was safely able to guide the vehicle into the driveway without injury or damage to the vehicle. No dealer, independent service center, manufacturer, or others have inspected the vehicle. Inspection of the vehicle can be done and when started the same message as stated is displayed. At the time as I pressed on the brake it pushed back against me being unable to engage them, this was accompanied by the brake light warning on the dash which was then followed by, " Check Electric Brake System".
The micro shift on the shifter does not push the lever up enough to register that the car is in park. You think your car is in park until you go to take the key out and it does not come out. OR I parked in a parking spot thinking I put it in park as my car displayed park and it started rolling. There is a whole forum about this issue . So I know I’m one of hundreds. This is really unsafe.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the front windshield trim was missing and that the adhesive around the front windshield was cracking. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 97,945.
I was driving in the interstate and out of no where my car starts to make aloud noise and breaks down. At this point the car begins to read “Service Transmission.” And is no longer to switch between gears. The shifter cable bushing failed and detached from the transmission
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power and RPM's decreased briefly before returning to normal functionality. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a failure with the HVAC system. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure; however, the contact was advised that the infotainment unit might need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
Shift Cable Snapped and could not shift the car out of reverse. I thought the car was in park and it started rolling. I had to use the Emergency brake to keep it in place and not roll into the road. The car was towed to a dealer and repaired. I am unaware if the component was inspected by the manufacturer but was not inspected by police or insurance. There were no warnings of the failure before it happened. There was a 2019 recall for the shifter cable bushing that was repaired/replaced in 2019.
The service Transmisson lite came on and then it was flashing gear not available and put in N, R, D. but was stuck in N while i was driving on the interstate at 70MPH, I almost got ran over trying to get off the road. The TCM was already replaced. I had replaced the SDU and still does the same thing. This happens often. The car will sit for a while and then it will do it again. It will also rev up like up press the gas pedal down but not touching it, this will happen while setting or after I put it in drive. The Bluetooth isn't working, it will work if the battery is unplugged but then after a day or 2 it stops. I have replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils and it still losses power occasionally. The back up camera doesn't work sometimes also the air condition and the air will come on but shows that it's off. This car is a piece of garbage, and dealers will just keep selling it even though they know it has a lot of issues that they can't seem to fix. Most of the people in the forums all having the same issues that never get fixed! This car needs a total RECALL.
Transmission shifting cable bushing is stripped. Car is stuck in park.
Clutch pedal would not return after being depressed. It stayed near the floor. I could not change gears or return to neutral.
Smart drive unit/transmission
Transmission control module failed. Gear shifts into neutral when driving and shuts car off. Gear position sensor bad causing gear to shift while driving.
Vehicle was sold without airbags.
I was parked. When I turn my car on to put it in drive the shift moved but the car manually stayed in park. I had to continuously turn it on and off to get it in drive.
While driving the car in the 3rd day of having it, the reverse safety release pin malfunctions and they car would slip into reverse while trying to down shift to stop. Also it would go into reverse instead of first while trying to go from a stop. I have the car back to carmax and notified them.
Transmission shifts rough. Dealership replaced transmission but it has been doing the thing since day one when they replaced it. Motor bogs down when turning. Passenger seat belt flashes and dings even though the belt is clicked. Hands free system longer works. Airbags light is always on. Back up camera is flipped upside down and is a backing hazard. Odometer is flashing as well. Tire pressure sensors will show that there is no air in the tires after driving about 45 mins. It asks if there has been and crashes, I have not but it could happen. you never know when the car isn't going to respond.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V674000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked and failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle stalled. The check engine and the oil warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the engine was consuming oil and was leaking engine oil. The contact was topping off the oil every 1,000 miles. The vehicle was serviced under Customer Satisfaction Notification: W20, but the failure persisted. The engine was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The contact was adding engine oil every 1,000 miles. The check engine and the oil warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

The contact stated that he had heard the cable brake and noticed while depressing the brake pedal that the vehicle was not decelerating. The contact stated that the flywheel had detached from the vehicle and the clutch was damaged. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the brake booster was leaking and that the brake cable linkage needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
My rear facing camera has begun to malfunction. Sometimes it does not work at all and sometimes the image comes through upside down. I am told it will many dollars to determine if its the camera or its connection to my radio. In either event, the fix is said to cost over one thousand dollars.
The contact's son owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while his son was pulling out of a parking lot, the RPM started fluctuating. Additionally, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle surged. The transmission was slipping significantly while driving to his residence. The message "Service Transmission" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the failure was associated with an unknown transmission recall. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 172,000.
The rear backup camera turns off or doesn't function while in reverse frequently.

The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
Wipers will not turn off. turn signals are working along with lights except the wipers.
My 2013 SXT 2.0 started to have the right front TPMS sensor stop working a few weeks back after driving the car for about 30 minutes. I assumed the issue was with the sensor itself as the car is 9 years old now and thought the sensor battery may be getting weak. Had the sensor replaced and others checked, and we were back to normal for a few weeks. Then the right front again dropped out after driving for 30-40 minutes. Checked the sensor again, and it is putting out the signal OK per the tire store, so we went on our way. So here is what is happening now. The car acts like it resets itself overnight and all the sensors behave in a normal fashion after first starting a drive. But they start to drop out beginning with right front consistently after about 30-40 minutes of driving. Then sometimes the left front goes out soon after followed by the left rear. The other thing I have noticed is the range on the fob for locking / unlocking gets really short during this same time of driving the car for a while. Fob batteries are all new. Car sits overnight for a day and things seem to be normal first thing again. Have been told this is a real common issue of late with the Darts and the RFHM (Radio Frequency Hub Module) is typically the culprit. This hub failure can also lead to other electronic issues such as dash lights / wipers / door locks / etc failing or working intermittently. Apparently to replace this module, it is expensive and can involve new keys as well.
I just bought this car last month, from my knowledge it has not been repaired, this is my first time buying a car or I would have never purchased it, one month after getting the car I finally receive a history report and I find out I have 6 recalls, have been having so many issue with this car since the week I purchased it, the speedometer does not work in heat and apparently the blower motor to the a/c as well huge inconvenience buying in the summer, the recalls state I have issue to look forward to in the winter as well. My parking brake does not work and I notice that the car rolls slightly in park, I have to press down hard on the gas just to pull out of my parking space in the morning it does not shift into reverse properly and I have been told by many people my brakes are bad despite them being changed recently and another recall says it’s a brake pad issue, I cannot test the other recalls because I am not a mechanic and I have not gotten into an accident but I would like to know if my airbags work and why my engine is having problems despite paying to get it fixed and still having issues
Apparently common master slave cylinder issue. Clutch pedal gave out and car won't go into gear.
I recently purchased a 2013 dodge dart sxt and not even 6 months later while driving this vehicle I noticed there was a loss of pressure with my clutch pedal when shifting gears. It initially seemed to return to normal and work fine at times but very quickly declined. At first I'd have some pressure in the clutch but that quickly went to having none whatsoever and the clutch not coming up from the floor. This happened while I was driving and just to get my vehicle home I had to get up to around 2500 rpm to shift. The clutch stays engaged so to stop the vehicle at a light for example you have to quickly shift to neutral or shut the car off. To begin driving again it has to be in gear but it moves right away so you are not able to have vehicle in gear while at idle. It's very dangerous and while looking into what the potential causes might be I noticed that this is a very common problem with these make and model cars especially between the years 2013-2015. I saw one article stating there recently was a recall for these exact issues with these vehicles but when attempting to look up my Vin it doesn't show anything?
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to three independent mechanics who diagnosed that the transmission shifter cable bushing had detached from the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle had previously been serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V293000 (Power Train). The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.
I took my car in for the last recall and now my car wont shift into gear. The gear shifter moves but does not connect to my car to get it to start going. Ive called the dealership and they wont even call me back. My car won't even move. This is a huge hazard!!!
Passenger seatbelt will say unbuckled, airbag system not working
Air bag service message
This car was 'repaired' due to the recall of the shifter bushing. The repair was completed about two years ago and the replacement part has already failed, causing the car to be undrivable. The original bushing did not exhibit any failure. I believe I am still due a repair that will fix the problem. This car has less than 50000 miles on it and every recall repair has made the car worse.
Our 2013 Dodge Dart Turbo had the actuator-hydraulic shift in the transmission go out and was replaced on October 27th 2020. Now the hydraulic pump dual disk clutch for the or in the transmission is going out and the part is unavailable...
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while attempting to drive the vehicle, the vehicle failed to shift out of PARK. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the shifter cable bushing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V293000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
Car stops moving as you are driving it. Took it to multiple mechanics including Dodge dealership. Dodge stated they see this often with Darts. Engine light and service transmission is on screen after it stops moving (rpm revs but no movement). Been ongoing since august 2018. Sending photos of some of the beginning incidents to not overwhelm.
My 2013 Dodge dart rallye turbo 1.4l . Started to lose power in the cold weather. It then stalls out while I was waiting at a red light. I got it started it ran fine. I got to a friend's house. visited for a while. got out to the car it wouldn't start. I jump-started it. To get home. And it was run slow and sluggish. The next day I went out there. and it just clicked. bought a brand new battery thinking it was that. it won't start check the fuses. All was working even relays starter solenoid and alternator also tested good. All cables and ground wires where in good condition tested and cleaned. Belt was like new and turned freely. Check engine light did flash when first tried to start 10 times then when off. But no error code was held. This has only happened one there time. And it was when I didn't have it in my garage at night. Last week and we got a bad winter storm. I didn't know. That I can't drive this car in Michigan. In the winter. Because it almost got me hit. When out at a green light. Because it was cold. If I would of known this I would of never got this car. And know it won't even. Start because I left outside of the garage for the second time in the hole time I own it.
1)Headlights. I have had issues with my headlights since day one. They are so dull I upgraded the bulbs with the brightest LED bulbs available which did not help my legs did not get any brighter, I've had my headlights adjusted four different times which still did not help. I drive with my brights on anytime I have to drive at night and I still can hardly see anything on the road. It is not my eyes that are bad because multiple people have said the same thing and no one can tell me why my lights are so dime. This year alone I have replaced both my headlamp bulbs and turn signal bulb (left side) a total of 4 times because they have busted. I have ran into 3 ditches because I can't see anything. NOW, I do not drive at night and have lost work as a result. 2)Wheels. I have lost 4 front wheel tires while driving down the interstate in the last 2 years. I've purchased 8 tires during this time &have replaced all the broken lugnuts ea time. The lugnuts all snapped completely in 1/2 when my tires came off. I've been towed ea time and have endangered the life of others as well as my own & now I do not drive long distances & try to avoid going over 45 miles/hrs in fear of this happening again. As a result of loosing my tires while driving on interstate, I've replace right hub assembly 2 times &eft one time in last 2 years. On the electrical, tire, wheels, head lights & bulb replacements and repairs I have spent thousands .I was excited about getting my 1st dodge, but the dangerous, expensive, and horrible experience from my dodge has not only limited my driving to daytime hours on roads no more than 45 mph,, it's put fear in me to drive &purchase another! Every person that has worked on my car, been a passanger & that knows about my car us in utter disbelief as I am. I do not want to sell this vehicle to anyone else, in fear the purchaser could get hurt or hurt someone else! Every blog I've read and reviews for dodge dart have same issues & no re- placement parts available.
In 2013 I bought a new Dodge Dart Limited from a Dodge dealer. I bought the car in March and by October when it got cooler outside, it was evident there were some electrical issues related to the Uconnect screen blanking out and dash lights flickering while driving or when ABS engaged, and engine and battery lights on. The whole car seemed like it was resetting as everything electrical flickered and turned off and then on again. I took the car back to the dealership while it was under warranty at least 3 times to no avail. It would sometimes come back on after turning the car off for a period of time but then it turned off and stayed off for days. The Dodge mechanics claimed they could not get the problem to come up for them at all during yearly visits from 2014-2018. I researched the internet for solutions and disconnecting and reconnecting the battery seemed to fix it so that became a temporary resolution. After a while it became much more consistent and the battery trick didn't always work anymore. So I went to a second Dodge dealership in 2019 when my car was at the end of it's warranty and they did see the issue occur and decided to replace the screen all together. That next winter the problem came back so I went back to the dealership and this time they replaced the body control module. It's the next winter and the center console is completely out so I cannot control hazard lights, the turn signals don't make noise, backup camera is out, seat controls don't work, rear defrost never turns on but the front defrost blasts hot air constantly causing fog. I feel unsafe as I cannot see out of the rear window due to consistent under 40 degrees temps. The dash lights went completely out yesterday and I could not see my speedometer, but it came back on 60 min later. The engine and battery lights are on constantly since the weather changed. The dash lights are a huge safety concern as I don't know how fast I'm driving and it happens while the car is in motion.
Driving home on the freeway from work, service transmission caution light illuminated and simultaneously the car shifted into neutral. Unable to provide power now to vehicle, had to coast on freeway in traffic and rain to the shoulder of the freeway (about 2 miles until a shoulder was available to pull over to). Once I stopped the vehicle, was unable to shift into any gear. Had to wait for tow truck to take Dodge Dart to nearest dealership. Dealership diagnosed vehicle with a broken transmission cable, which got repaired, and was picked up from dealership on Dec 23. Vehicle was not driven again until Dec 26, at which time another service transmission light came on, shifting car out of gear. Vehicle was only able to shift into 1st gear, occurring on a busy road with no safe place to pull over. Vehicle towed to second dodge dealership for diagnostics where we were informed the problem is with a hydraulic actuator on the transmission and would cost $4200. We had just spent $720 on the transmission shift cable at the first dealership. When we called first dealership, we were informed there was no transmission code that came on and a test drive was not performed after servicing. Vehicle had been serviced twice for transmission recalls that also involved the shifting into neutral while driving. Shifting into neutral while driving is the problem that occurred on 12/18/2021.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, there was a loud abnormal pop sound coming from the vehicle. The contact noticed that the clutch was all the way to the floor and that the gear shifter was loose and would not shift out of gear. In addition, there was an abnormal burning from the clutch. The contact had to slowly coast and veered to the side of the road. The contact had the vehicle towed to the residence; then towed to a local dealer who diagnosed that the shifter cable and pressure plate were damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,420.
As a I was driving to pick up my friends to go out ,I was approaching a red light,I started to slow down but I was still about half a mile fro mt he light so I hit the gas a little bit.when I hit the gas the car jerked very hard and then did not accelerate at all .all the lights remained on,I did not hear any strange noises .previous to this happening ,I had put in new spark plugs as I noticed the old ones were covered in oil but unsure why as I’m not a mechanic . Anyways as the car was not accelerating,I tried pulling to the side of the road with the car not accelerating whatsoever ,it finally kept rolling until I had came to a complete stop on the side of the road .when it came to a stop I tried Turning on and off ,I checked the battery ,for any leaks and saw nothing ,I had some people try to jump the car or see if they noticed anything but couldn’t see anything unusual . When I got it home diagnosed by a mechanic company ,Al they said is the timing chain may have broke and maybe a piston got hit/bent. But it doesn’t makes sense at to why it wouldn’t accelerate compared to at least jerking if that was the case .about a year later of it sitting ,I finally decided to take it somewhere else as it could not be driven and it’s still being financed ,and got it checked out .this mechanic was able to look around and said a piece called an actuator had fell into the engine as I was driving ,which caused the piece to continue getting crushed between my whole engine and caused it to stop running .anywhere and anyone I talked to ,was no willing to fix it and didn’t understand how that happened .
