AIR BAG MAINTENANCE LIGHT REMAINED ON. FIRST ATTEMPT TO CORRECT FAILED. DEALER IS REPLACING MODULE HOWEVER THERE ARE OTHER 2013 THAT HAVE RECALLS FOR THIS MODULE. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 13 DART (1.4 W/6SPD) AND AT THE 200 MILE MARK THE CAR BEGAN TO "SURGE" WHEN SHIFTING THROUGH 2ND AND 3RD GEAR, FROM 2,700 TO 3,300 RPMS. INITIALLY IT WAS JUST ANNOYING AND NOTICEABLE. MY 1ST TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM, BUT THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME DODGE SAID IT IS A NORMAL FUNCTION OF THE MULTIAIR TURBO, AND I SHOULD SWITCH TO PREMIUM FUEL. WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP I DROVE A USED 1.4/6SPD AND IT HAD THE SAME SURGING ISSUE. ANOTHER WEEK WENT BY AND AT APPROX 1,400 MILES THE SURGING COULD BE FELT IN 4TH GEAR. A SECOND TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. AGAIN, DODGE TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER "IT'S NORMAL. SWITCH TO PREMIUM." I THEN SWITCHED TO PREMIUM AND AFTER THREE FULL TANKS THE VEHICLE NOW SURGES IN 2 TO 6TH GEAR, ALL AROUND 2,700 TO 3,300 RPMS. ADDITIONALLY, ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE WAS GOING 45MPH IN 4TH AND WHEN I TRIED TO SPEED UP THE CAR WOULD SURGE VIOLENTLY AND I HAD TO PULL OVER TO AVOID ONCOMING TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT GO ANY FASTER. NOW, A THIRD TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP STILL NO RESOLUTION. NOW, AT 6,100 MILES, I WAS DRIVING THROUGH WVA HILLS AND IN 6TH AT 75MPH THE CAR BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SURGE CAUSING ME TO PULL OVER OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. I HAVE SWITCHED BACK TO 87 GRADE GAS BUT I ONLY GET 39MPG AVG VS 45MPG AVG I WAS GETTING. INITIALLY, I WAS EXCITED ABOUT MY NEW PURCHASE AND THE DEALERSHIP COMMUNICATED WITH ME EXTENSIVELY. NOW THAT THEY HAVE NO RESOLUTION FOR THIS "NORMAL" SURGE THE GM WON'T CALL ME BACK OR ANSWER MY CALLS. WHEN I CALLED CHRYSLER THE INITIAL CASE MANAGER TOOK MY CASE FOR INVESTIGATION, BUT AFTER ONLY 2 DAYS SHE TOLD ME THE CASE HAS BEEN FORWARDED UP TO A HIGHER LEVEL EXECUTIVE INVESTIGATION TEAM, BUT IN OVER A WEEK I HAVE HEARD NOTHING. NOW EVEN THE INITIAL CASE MANAGER WON'T RESPOND. DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGES THE SURGE ISSUE IN EVERY REPAIR INVOICE. *TR

EN EL DEALER SUPUESTAMENTE LE CAMBIARON LA TCM DE LA TRASMISION, PERO LUEGO, EL VEHICULO VUELVE A PRESENTAR EL MISMO PROBLEMA, "CHECK ENGINE", SERVICIO DE TRASMISION". EN EL DEALER ALEGAN QUE SOLUCIONAN EL PROBLEMA, PERO EL MISMO YA SE HA PRESENTADO EN 3 O 4 OCASIONES. TENGO UN AUTO "LIMON".
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING HOWEVER, ONCE RESTARTED IT OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS ON FOUR DIFFERENT DATES BUT A DIAGNOSTIC WAS NOT PERFORMED. FOUR MONTHS LATER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 19,737.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. IN ADDITION, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE ABOUT WHAT PART NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THREE YEARS LATER, WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO INDEPENDENTLY SLIDE TO THE RIGHT. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A POLE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE ABS AND ANTI SLIDE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTO BODY REPAIR CENTER FOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, I ATTEMPTED TO DOWNSHIFT TO CHANGE LANES. THE CLUTCH BASICALLY POPPED AND WENT TO THE FLOOR. I THEN HAD TO SWERVE IN TRAFFIC IN ORDER TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE A 2013 DART SXT WITH THE 1.4L MULTIAIR ENGINE AND THE 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION. AFTER LOOKING AROUND ON THERE WEB, THIS IS APPARENTLY NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND MAY ACTUALLY BE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLES. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO NOT ONLY FIX THIS PROBLEM, BUT IT SHOULD BE RECALLED AS IT CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME. I HAVE FOUND THAT SOME VEHICLES HAVE THIS HAPPEN IN AS LITTLE AS THE FIRST FEW DAYS OF OWNERSHIP OR AS IN MY CASE, AFTER A FEW THOUSAND MILES. IT IS DANGEROUS. I WOULD PUT IN THE VIN, BUT THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP AS THIS HAPPENED TODAY. THANK YOU. *TR
2013 DODGE DART SXT WITH 1.4 LITER TURBO AND DUAL DRY CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE GOING DOWNHILL, IN TRAFFIC, AFTER LIGHT TURNED GREEN. VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT FROM SECOND GEAR, BOTH IN AUTOMATIC AND MANUAL MODES, UNTIL WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OVER AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. *TR
FOR THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF MY CLUTCH HAS BEEN LOSING ALL RESISTANCE. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD AND AT TIMES I AM UNABLE TO PUT MY CAR INTO GEAR. SOMETIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE AT STOP LIGHTS OR EVEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. EVERY TIME I TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AIM TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. EVENTUALLY THEY REPLACED MY CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO THE FIRST TIME. PROBLEM SEEMED TO RESOLVE THEN ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO IT STARTED DOING IT AGAIN. WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG. AFTER MULTIPLE TRIPS TO DEALERSHIP THEY FINALLY AGREED TO REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER AND DISCOVERED THE SLAVE CYLINDER IS LEAKING. VEHICLE BACK IN THE SHOP FOR THE PAST WEEK REPLACING SLAVE CYLINDER. ANY PERSPECTIVE DART BUYERS OUT THERE, I REALLY CAUTION AGAINST THIS PURCHASE. THIS IS ONLY ONE OF MULTIPLE ISSUES I HAVE HAD. ON A SIDE NOTE, I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW IN JULY 2012 WITH 120 MILES ON IT. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD 2 IGNITION COILS REPLACED, 2 CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDERS, SLAVE CYLINDER, 3 TURBOS, CATALYTIC CONVERTER ALL REPLACED. BUYER BEWARE. *TR
EVER SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2013 WE HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH IT. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN NUMEROUS TIMES AS THE PANEL WOULD JUST GO BLANK FROM TIME TO TIME AND HEATER WOULD GO FULL BLAST NO WAY TO CONTROL RADIO OR ANYTHING THROUGH THE PANEL. I WOULD ALSO COMPLAIN THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD STICK MEANING ONLY WHEN I WOULD BE IN REVERSE IT WOULD STICK AND NOT GO INTO DRIVE UNLESS YOU FORCED IT TO THE LEFT AND BACK INTO DRIVE IT WOULD CATCH THE GEAR. THIS HAS BEEN A NON GOING THING THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP WE WENT AS FAR AS FILING A COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER AS THAT IS THE NUMBER DEALERSHIP REFERRED US TOO. THEY SAID IT WAS A DEFECTIVE CAR, BUT WE GOT NO WHERE WITH IT AND FINALLY WARRANTY WAS UP AND THEN THEY WANTED ALOT OF MONEY TO REPLACE THE PANEL AFTER IT HAD BEEN REPLACED BEFORE BY THEM. OUR CHART IS PROBABLY SO THICK IN REGARDS TO THE SAME WRONG MALFUNCTION. IT ONLY HAPPENS DURING THE WINTER MONTHS AS RIGHT NOW ITS DOING IT AGAIN AND I AM SURE WITH THE STICKING AND US NEEDING TO FORCE IT INTO DRIVE IS PROBABLY NOT A GOOD THING EITHER. I HAVE THROWN MY HANDS UP IN THE AIR WITH THIS CAR AND TRYING TO GET SOMEONE TO HELP ME, BUT I CAN NOT AFFORD TO BUY A NEW CAR. I WOULD JUST LIKE FOR SOMEONE TO DO RIGHT BY THIS LEMON THEY MAKE IT SO HARD TO CONSTANTLY TRY AND FOLLOWUP OR THEY KEEP GIVING US DIFFERENT NUMBERS WITH NO CALL BACK. SO IF YOU COULD PLEASE DO A REPORT ON THIS AND LOOK INTO THIS FOR ME. I WOULD TRULY APPRECIATE IT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 13V238000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ON THREE OCCASIONS BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUOUSLY RECURRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 01/22/2013. THE FIRST OF MANY INCIDENTS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN A MAJOR HIGHWAY. I WAS IN THE FAST LANE CHANGING LANES AND I SUDDENLY HAD FULL POWER LOSS. I WAS UNABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE AND WAS ALMOST HIT BY SEVERAL FASTER MOVING CARS. THE CAR WAS ALSO QUICKLY SLOWING DOWN. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE STARTED AGAIN AND PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY. AS I WENT TO TURN INTO A PARKING LOT THIS VEHICLE HAD POWER LOSS AGAIN. BETWEEN 02/25/2012 AND 11/07/2014 AND 26,000 MILES THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP OVER 10 TIMES. IT HAS MULTIPLE POWER LOSS ISSUES, AND GAUGE ISSUES. HEADLIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS HAVE GONE OUT, AND RANDOM WINDOWS ROLL DOWN WHEN PUSHING THE BUTTONS. THIS VEHICLE IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE RECALLED IN ITS ENTIRETY. REPAIR SHOPS TELL CONSECUTIVELY THAT THEY CANNOT REPAIR ALL THE ISSUES. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SINCE FOR 5 DAYS THIS TIME AND THEY CANNOT GET THE VEHICLE TO START. SHOP FAILED TO PUT POWER LOSS ISSUES ON FIRST ISSUE ON TICKET, UNTIL IT HAPPENED A SECOND TIME ON 07/02/2013 WHILE I WAS IN A SCHOOL ZONE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART EQUIPPED WITH KUMHO SOLUS KH25 TIRES, SIZE: 225/45/17. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH OVER A SLIGHT BUMP, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD FROM OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVE TO A SAFE LOCATION WHERE SHE NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE HAD EXPLODED AND THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE EXHIBITED A BUBBLE ON THE SIDEWALL. THE DEFECTIVE TIRES WERE IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPLACED WITH NEW TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY FROM FEB. 21, 2013 FROM 11:30 AM TO APPROXIMATELY 4:00 PM WHEN IT ROLLED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY HIT A TREE AND STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN FIRST GEAR AND THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ENGAGED. THE DRIVEWAY HAS AN APPROXIMATELY 20% SLOPE AT THE LOCATION THE CAR WAS PARKED. THE SECOND INCIDENT TOOK PLACE ON MAY 2, 2013 APPROXIMATELY 1:00 PM. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED IN THE SAME LOCATION FOR THREE WEEKS AS I WAS OUT OF TOWN. IT WAS ONCE AGAIN PARKED IN FIRST GEAR, WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED. AS I APPROACHED THE VEHICLE IT BEGAN TO ROLL DOWN THE SLOPE IT WAS PARKED ON. I HAVE WITNESSES FOR BOTH INCIDENTS. CHRYSLER HAS INSPECTED THE VEHICLE TWICE AND REPORTS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES OR TRANSMISSION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING LAMPS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND DECIDED TO RESET THE COMPUTER AS A TEMPORARY REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 900.
ON 02/18/2013 CAR WOULD START, BUT WOULD NOT GO IN TO GEAR, ERROR MESSAGE READ PUT IN TO REVERSE AND TRY AGAIN. WOULD NOT SWITCH INTO REVERSE OR NEUTRAL OR DRIVE AT ALL, IT WAS VERY COLD THAT MORNING (27) DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS THE TRANSMISSION, STILL WAITING FOR THE PARTS (03/05/2013). *TR
2013 DODGE DART. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION, BROKEN TIRE SENSOR AND OTHER VEHICLE PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN ON GOING SINCE, THE FIRST DAY THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. APPARENTLY, IT WAS A FACTORY DEFAULT, THAT COULD NOT BE FIXED. THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTED INTO SECOND GEAR, THE CLUTCH WOULD STICK, THE GEARS WERE GRINDING WHEN IN REVERSE AND A METALLIC NOISE WAS HEARD WHEN DOWN SHIFTING IN ANY GEAR THE DEALER REPLACED THE SECOND GEAR AND SYNCHRONIZERS. THE SUN VISOR NO LONGER STAYED IN ITS POSITION.
WHILE PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN THE ACCELATOR PEDDLE STUCK UNDER THE FLOOR MAT. I NOTICED THE FACTORY MAT SLIDING AROUND A MONTH AGO AND RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALER. I WAS TOLD TO BUY NEW AFTER MARKET MATS. I REMOVED THE DRIVER-SIDE MAT AND ORDERED AFTER MARKETS. THE NEW MATS HAVE LARGER LUGS TO HOLE THEM IN PLACE. BUT IT MOVED AGAIN AND WHILE ACCELERATING AWAY FORM THE STOP SIGN THE PEDDLE STUCK UNDER THE MAT. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND WAS ABLE TO REACH DOWN AND PULL THE PEDDLE UP. AT THIS POINT I HAVE REMOVE ALL DRIVER-SIDE MATS. I ALSO CALLED THE DODGE OWNERS HELP LINE AND WAS INFORMED THAT (MORE OR LESS) IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. IF A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER HAD BEEN AT THE WHEEL THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A MUCH WORSE OUT COME. *TR
ONE MONTH OLD DODGE DART RALLYE WAS PARKED ON A STEEP DRIVEWAY THE MORNING OF 01/20/13. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED AND THE DASHBOARD LIGHT FOR THE 'PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED' WAS LIT. THE CAR SAT IDLE FOR ABOUT A MINUTE AND WAS ALSO IDLE AFTER GETTING OUT OF THE CAR FOR >30 SECONDS. AT THAT POINT THE CAR STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS DOWN THE DRIVEWAY WHERE IT CRASHED INTO A WOODED AREA STRIKING SEVERAL TREES. THE PARKING BRAKE HANDLE WAS STILL UP AND APPEARED TO BE ENGAGED. THE DAMAGE TO THE CAR WAS ESTIMATED AT $2400. *TR
MY ASSESSMENT, WHICH IS BASED ON ENGINEERING EXPERTISE NOT EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE, SUGGESTS THAT, RATHER THAN RESPONDING TO DRIVER CONTROLLED BY-WIRE" INSTRUCTIONS TO BRAKE PREPARATORY TO A HARD RIGHT TURN INTO OUR DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE TOOK CONTROL OF THE THROTTLE, BRAKE, AND (DRIVE-BY-WIRE ?) CLUTCH PROPELLING ITSELF 20 METERS FURTHER DOWN-ROAD TO THE RIVER SHORELINE. PERHAPS READING THE BRAKE COMMAND AS AN ACCELERATION INSTRUCTION (OR ???) THE VEHICLE CONTINUED FORWARD AND DROVE ITSELF OFF THE ROAD, TUMBLING 2 METRES ONTO A BEACH, THEN FROM THE BEACH ONTO THE RIVER ICE WHICH EXTENDS OUT TOWARDS MID-RIVER. IT CONTINUED ACROSS THAT ICE ONLY TO END ITS FORWARD PROGRESS AT THE ICE/WATER BOUNDARY WHERE IT PLUNGED INTO OPEN WATER WITHIN 100 METERS OF HOME. THESE EVENTS EFFECTIVELY ENDING A JOURNEY HOME WITH DEATH. THE OTTAWA CORONER REPORTS NO INDICATION (SUCH AS BLOOD ALCOHOL LEVELS / MEDICAL EVENTS) TO INDICATE THE DRIVER CONTRIBUTED TO THIS OUTCOME IN ANY WAY. IF THE DRIVER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE THEN RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS EVENT LIES WITH THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE ALONE. THE CAR HAD 400 MILES ON IT. THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED OUT OF MY HANDS TO THE LEFT (INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC). THERE WAS GRINDING AND LOUD NOISES AS I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAID THAT THE CAR WAS MISSING A BOLT WHEN HE WENT TO HOOK THE CHAIN UP UNDERNEATH THE CAR. THE DEALERSHIP TRIED PASS IT OFF AS, "WE ALLIGNED IT AND ITS READY FOR YOU TO PICK UP". I TOLD THEM I KNEW THE BOLT WAS GONE BECAUSE THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY TOLD ME IT WAS. I TOLD THEM I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR. I SAID I DO NOT WANT TO BE A STATISTIC IN A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AT A LATER DATE. BOTH CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION. LOU FUSZ SAID IT WAS CHRYSLER'S PROBLEM AND CHRYSLER TOLD ME TO WORK WITH THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID, "THANK GOD YOU WEREN'T ON THE HIGHWAY". WE'LL I HAD MY FAMILY IN THIS CAR FOR 2 WEEKS DRIVING AROUND IN A CAR THAT COULD HAVE HURT OR KILLED SOMEONE. I HAD NOT SIGNED OVER THE PAPERWORK TO MY DODGE JOURNEY YET (WHICH HAD A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT OVER THE BRAKES WHICH IS WHY I WAS WANTING TO TRADE IT IN) BUT THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY CAR BACK. I SAID THEN PUT ME IN ANOTHER CAR BUT THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME MORE FOR THE CAR WE WANTED. I THEN ASKED TO GIVE ME THE CASH FOR THE TRADE IN. THIS VEHICLE SHIFTS SO BAD AND THAT CARS I'VE DRIVEN THAT WERE 5 - 10 YEARS OLDER SHIFTED BETTER THAN THIS . IT DOWNSHIFTS WHILE BRAKING AND SOMETIME IT IS A VERY JERKY DOWNSHIFT .ALSO IT SLAMS/JOLTS INTO FIRST GEAR WHILE ROLLING AT ABOUT 3-5 MILES PER HOUR ONCE THE PEDAL IS PUSHED. IT ALSO IS THE WORST AT CHANGING GEARS DURING STOP AND GO DRIVING BECAUSE IT IS SO JERKY AND BOUNCY AFTER BRAKING THEN ACCELERATING AND I DON'T SEE WHY A CAR THAT IS BRAND NEW SHOULD DO THIS. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER AND HAVING THEM TELL ME TO BRAKE IT IN FIRST , I HAVE DONE SO AND HAVE 700+ MILES ON IT AND HAVE HAD THEM PERFORM TRANSMISSION FLASH UPDATES WITH NO EFFECT ON THE SHIFTING PROBLEMS. I CAN'T SEE HOW THIS TRANSMISSION( AND ALL PARTS THAT WORK TOGETHER WITH IT )WILL LAST WITH THESE SORT OF THINGS HAPPENING. I'VE TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAW PICTURES AND I EVEN MADE IT GET UP TO 3/4 ON THE TEMP GAUGE AND THEY SAY THAT AS LONG AS IT IS NOT ON THE "H" THEN IT IS FINE AND THE REASON IS BECAUSE THERE ARE FLAPS THAT CLOSE WHEN NOT MOVING . I HAVE CHECKED WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE TECHNICIANS AND THEY SAY THAT THE TEMP GOING UP LIKE THAT WILL AFFECT THE LONGEVITY OF THE ENGINE IN A NEGATIVE WAY , BUT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S O.K . I'VE NEVER DROVE A CAR THAT HAS DID THIS AND NOT HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE COOLING SYSTEM AND AM CONCERNED THAT THIS WILL AFFECT MY CAR IN THE LONG RUN. *TR

I ALWAYS FELT THE CAR LACKED POWER BUT ASSUMED IT WAS JUST THE WAY THE CAR WAS. GETTING OUT OF 1ST GEAR WAS REALLY TOUGH. AROUND 6K, AFTER A LONG ROAD TRIP, I STARTED TO HEAR A GRINDING NOISE WHEN CUTTING THE WHEEL AND THROTTLING IN 1ST GEAR OR REVERSE, BASICALLY PARALLEL PARKING. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR ITS 1ST MAJOR TUNE UP AND MENTIONED IT AND THEY SAID THE DIDN'T HEAR THE NOISE ( I ALSO MENTIONED THE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD NOT GO AWAY) THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS GONE BUT SOON TO RETURN. AT 9K, I BROUGHT THE CAR IN AGAIN FOR THE SAME ISSUES! AIR BAG LIGHT GONE (SOON TO RETURN) BUT THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T HEAR THE NOISE. AT 19K I WAS FUMING AND GOT THEM TO GO ON A TEST DRIVE WITH ME AND THEY HEARD THEY NOISE! THEY TRIED TO SAY IT WAS THE CA INTAKE I PUT IN, BUT I ASSURED THEM IT WASN'T AND GAVE THEM THE OEM PART TO PROVE THEM WRONG. LOW AND BEHOLD AFTER A WEEK THEY COME BACK WITH "CLUTCH BEARINGS"! I GOT THE CAR BACK AND IT FEELS LIKE A- BRAND NEW CAR!! IT'S AMAZING! IT HAS POWER, PICK UP, THE CLUTCH IS MUCH EASIER TO WORK AND NO NOISE! I WAS STARTLED BY THE POWER! THIS IS THE CAR I THOUGHT I WAS BUYING. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH GAS ECONOMY I'VE WASTED AFTER 19K, BUT I'M JUST GLAD TO FINALLY HAVE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED! THE HORN FAILS TO HONK QUICKLY AND RELIABLY WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL HORN SWITCH IS PRESSED. TO EXPLAIN WHAT THIS IS LIKE, WHEN YOU WANT TO "DOUBLE TAP" THE HORN TO SIGNIFY TO A FRIEND IN A PARKING LOT, OR AS OFTEN HAPPENS WHEN I'M DRIVING TO SIGNAL TO ANOTHER DRIVER A "DOUBLE QUICK HONK" OF CONCERN. IF THE HORN SOUNDS, ITS EITHER A SINGLE SHORT BLAST OR EXTRA LONG BLAST. THE CAUSE OF THIS, IS THAT THE HORN SWITCH GOES TO ONE DBUS CONTROLLER THAT MUST CYCLE THROUGH THE INPUTS, ONCE THIS FIRST CONTROLLER SEES THE HORN SWITCH ACTIVE *IT* THEN SENDS A SIGNAL ON TO ANOTHER CONTROL MODULE, THIS ONE TOO OPERATES ON A DATABUS/SCAN TYPE SYSTEM, AND SO HAS TO CYCLE THROUGH ITS INPUTS UNTIL IT HAPPENS UPON THE "HORN SWITCH ACTIVE" SIGNAL, AND THEN THE SECOND MODULE ACTIVATES THE HORN RELAY TO SEND CURRENT TO THE HORN. BECAUSE BOTH DATABUSS SCANS ARE SO SLOW, IT EITHER MISSES THE HORN PRESS INITIALLY, OR WHEN IT PICKS UP ON THE HORN SWITCH PRESS, IT FAILS TO SEE THE SWITCH HAS BEEN RELEASED FOR UNTIL THE 1ST MODULE HAS CYCLED BACK TO THE INPUT, .. AND AGAIN THE SAME HAPPENS WITH THE 2ND MODULE. IN THREE CASES NOW, ITS CAUSED ROAD RAGE, WHEN THE OTHER DRIVER THOUGH I WAS "LAYING ON" THE HORN, WHEN ALL I ATTEMPTED WAS A DOUBLE TAP, BECAUSE THEY WERE ENCROACHING ON MY LANE AS I WAS PASSING AND WANTED TO MAKE SURE THEY DIDN'T HIT ME. THE HORN IS AN INSTRUMENT FOR WARNING, AND ITS OBVIOUS WHEN SOMEONE ATTEMPTS TO PISS SOMEONE ELSE OFF BY HOLDING DOWN ON THE HORN SWITCH .. WHERE A DOUBLE TAP IS USUALLY TAKEN AS A CAUTIONARY ALERT, AND FOR THE HORN NOT TO FUNCTION RELIABLY EVERY TIME AND WITH THE SPEED THAT A HUMAN CAN PRESS THE HORN SWITCH, IS AN ABSOLUTE FAILURE ON DODGE'S PART TO HAVE A SAFETY DEVICE OPERATING PROPERLY. THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY, ALL THE TIME, AND I'M TOLD BY OTHERS, THAT ITS LIKE THIS NOW ACROSS ALL OF DODGE'S FLEET, THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED!

ALSO RECENTLY NOTICED, THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL FAILS TO WORK ALL OF THE TIME. NOT UNTIL YOU STOP AND RESTART THE VEHICLE DOES THE CRUISE CONTROL "DECIDE" TO WORK ONCE AGAIN. EVEN SO, IN THE FIRST FEW MONTHS OF OBTAINING THE VEHICLE I NOTICED CHIP MARKS ON THE FRONT BUMPER. AS 2014 HAS APPROACHED, THERE ARE ABOUT A COUPLE HUNDRED CHIP MARKS ON THE FRONT BUMPER BUT THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN IN AREAS TO CAUSE THIS MUCH DAMAGE. MY GRANDMA WANTED TO RIDE IN THE DART THAT I HAD BOUGHT ON 10/26/12. I ONLY PUT ABOUT 10 MILES ON THE DART & IT IS A MANUAL 6 SPEED. I LET MY GRANDMA INTO THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT, I STARTED THE CAR, PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ALREADY ENGAGED, BUT I DOUBLE CHECKED IT & RE-PULLED UP ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, I THEN PULLED UP ONE MORE TIME TO MAKE SURE IT WAS FULLY ENGAGED BECAUSE MY DRIVEWAY IS SLANTED. THIS CAR DIDN'T IMMEDIATELY ROLL DOWN THE DRIVEWAY IT TOOK ABOUT 30-45 SECONDS BEFORE IT STARTED ROLLING. IT ACTED LIKE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED THEN JUST DISENGAGED & ROLLED AT A HIGH SPEED.
