Car was wrecked at 85 miles a hour and rolled 7 times and not a single air bag deployed
AT 61000 MILES MY DODGE DART SXT HAS A SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM ALARM POP UP. I CONTACTED TWO DEALERSHIPS BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL OR OPEN WARRANTY FOR THIS. AS IT'S AIRBAGS, A SAFETY ISSUE I PUSHED THE SUBJECT A LITTLE HARDER WITH DODGE THEMSELVES AND THEY SAID THE SAME THING. SAFETY IN MY OPINION SHOULD BE FIRST, AND UPON FURTHER RESEARCH THIS HAS HAPPENED QUITE A BIT TO OTHER DODGE DART OWNERS FROM 2013 TO PRESENT WITH LITTLE TO KNOW KNOWLEDGE WHY. VEHICLE SITS IN MY BARK PARKED AREA AND IS DRIVEN VERY LITTLE SO SHOULDN'T ACTIVELY HAVE ISSUES LIKE THIS OCCUR.
THE AIR BAGS ON THIS CAR FAILED TO DEPLOY FROM A BAD CAR ACCIDENT. MY CAR WAS HIT NEAR THE RIGHT FRONT FROM A PERSON THAT RAN A RED LIGHT. THE FRONT END DAMAGE WAS HORRIBLE TO SAY THE LEAST AS TO WHERE THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER SAID TO ME THAT THE CAR HAS TO BE TOTALED. EXTENSIVE FRAME DAMAGE FROM THIS ACCIDENT AND DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAD NEVER DEPLOYED FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON. THE CONSUMER OWNS ANOTHER VEHICLE SAME MAKE/MODEL AND QUESTIONS IF THE VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THE PREVIOUS VEHICLE FAILING. *JS *JS
UPON DRIVING THE CAR ON THE FREEWAY YESTERDAY, THE 2016 DODGE DART STARTED TO SHAKE AND THE CAR WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. THE PASSENGER FRONT WHEEL CONTROL ARM, TIRE, AND CV JOINT COMPLETELY FEEL OFF THE VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
ON 3/7/2019, I TOTALED MY CAR AS I WAS T-BONED. THIS ACCIDENT BROKE MY AXLE, AND DENTED IN MY DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR TO THE POINT WHERE I COULD NOT OPEN IT. MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE BACKSEAT AND SMACKED HER FACE OFF OF THE SEAT AND WINDOW BRUISING THE WHOLE SIDE OF HER FACE AND GIVING HER A BLACK EYE. FOR SOME REASON, NO AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED. I WAS HOPEFUL AT FIRST, THAT MAYBE IT DIDN'T DEPLOY SINCE IT WAS A "SMALL" ACCIDENT, BUT NOW THAT THE CAR IS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS, I FEEL LIKE SOMETHING IS OBVIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS SITUATION. WHEN I WAS T-BONED, I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A STOP SIGN (AFTER MAKING MY STOP) TO WHICH I DID NOT SEE A CAR ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A CAR TURNING TOWARDS ME. THIS CAR WAS GOING APPROX 30-40 MPH (IF FOLLOWING STREET SIGNS). THIS CAR'S AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, YET MY DAUGHTERS, ON HER DOOR, FAILED TO DEPLOY. THIS CAR DID NOT HIT ME UNTIL I WAS ALMOST TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET. I ALSO SAW HER AT THE LAST MINUTE AND INSTEAD OF BREAKING (A NORMAL REACTION) I TRIED TO SPEED UP TO AVOID THE ACCIDENT. IF THE SAFETY INFORMATION ONLINE IS CORRECT, IT STATES THAT THE AIRBAG SENSOR FOR THE SIDE-REAR IMPACT IS BETWEEN THE TIRE AND THE REAR DOOR, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHERE I WAS HIT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE DRIVER WAS INJURED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF HIS BODY DUE TO HIS BODY GOING UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO KNOWN INJURIES TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN LOCATION AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 31887076. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
