IN COOL WEATHER, I GET A THICK WHITE EMULSION BUILDUP ON THE INSIDE OF THE OIL FILLER CAP, TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS DRIPPING DOWN INTO THE CRANKCASE AND GETTING SUCKED INTO THE PCV VALVE. THE LOCAL DEALER, NOT THE ONE WHERE I BOUGHT IT, TELLS ME THIS IS NORMAL AND TO JUST WIPE IT OUT. HAVING WORKED ON CARS FOR OVER 30 YEARS, I DO NOT SEE THIS AS NORMAL. IT SEEMS THAT EXCESIVE MOISTURE IS GETTING INTO THE CRANKCASE FROM SOMEWHERE. *AK
DRIVER SIDE MIRROR DOES NOT SHOW OBJECTS WHILE TURNING. YH
WHEN DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AT SPEED OF 5-10 MPH VEHICLE CUT OFF WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING, CAUSING LOSS OF ALL POWER. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
GEARS COULD BE CHANGED WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THERE IS NO TRANSMISSION INTERLOCK SYSTEM. *AK WHEN THE GEAR IS SHIFTED FROM PARK TO REVERSE, THE DASH SHOWS IT WRONG. *YH
TRANSMISSION CLICKS FOR 2-3 SECONDS WHEN SHIFTED FROM PARK OR FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE. DEALER STATES THAT THIS IS NORMAL ALTHOUGH IT DID NOT APPEAR UNTIL TRUCK HAD OVER 7K MILES DRIVEN. SEEMS TO BE TOO LOUD AND INCONSISTENT TO BE NORMAL. *AK
REAR BRAKE CALIPERS SEEM TO CATCH AND POP CONSTANTLY AT LOW SPEEDS WITHOUT APPLYING PRESSURE TO BRAKE PEDAL. *AK
TRANSMISSION CLICKS FOR 2-3 SEC WHEN SHIFTER IS MOVED BETWEEN GEARS.*AK
VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN ACCORD..FORCES TO DRIVER TO BRAKE HEAVIER THAN NORMAL USE. VEHICLE IDLES AT A RATE THAT ALLOWS TO PULL OUT OF PARK SPACE IF BRAKE IS NOT DEPRESSED. IF BRAKE IS ALLOWED TO RELEASE MOVING OF VEHICLE CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. HAS MAINTAIN A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY OF 12 MILES PER HOUR OVER A INCLINED GRADE GOING OVER 3 SPEED BUMPS. THE STEERING COLUMN HAS A POPPING SOUND AND THAT CAN ALSO BE FELT WITH FEET ON FLOOR BOARD. HAVE HAS BACK TO A DODGE DEALER 3 TIMES. ALL 3 TIMES WE ARE TOLD COMPUTER SHOWS NOTHING WRONG AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS " WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT".. MANAGEMENT HAS GIVEN NO SATISFACTION. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN THAT RIDE IN THIS MANUFACTURES DEFECTED AUTOMOBILE. I FEAR A OUT OF CONTROL ACCELERATION WILL OCCURE AND THE STEERING WILL MALFUNCTION CAUSING INJURY. PLEASE ADVISE. WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN 60-70MPH VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE. REAR WINDOW WAS NOT SEALED PROPERLY AFTER REPLACEMENT DUE TO A SCRATCH. DRIVER'S WINDOW REPLACED DUE TO REGULATOR DRAGGING. ELECTRICAL WIRES FOR AIR CONDITIONER WERE PINCHED AND FAILED TO WORK.*AK VEHICLE SOUNDS TO HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, WINDOWS HAVE FAILED, DOOR REGULATORS FAILED, BATTERY FAILED, AND WHILE DRIVING THE RPM, ODOMETER, AND TRIP METER ALL WENT TO ZERO. CONSUMER HAD TO REPLACE GOODYEAR TIRES, NO OTHER TIRE INFORMATION PROVIDED. *SLC

VEHICLE FISHTAILS WHEN RIDING OVER RIPPLES AND BAD ROADS. DEALER ROTATED/BALANCED TIRES AND ALIGNED CAR. STILL MAKES YOU FEEL YOU ARE GOING TO LOOSE CONTROL ON BAD ROADS. TV PROGRAM SHOWED AN ACCOUNT OF A PROBLEM SIMILIAR TO MINE WHICH DEALT WITH A STEERING AND STABILIZATION DEFECT. WE NEARLY LOST CONTROL WHEN PULLING AN RV RECENTLY. DEALER DIDN'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO ABOUT PROBLEM AT THE TIME. *AK
VEHICLE FAILS TO ENGAGE INTO GEARS PROPERLY WHILE IDLING AT STOP SIGNS OR LIGHTS. THIS CAUSES VEHICLE TO STALL . PROBLEM CAN HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. HAD BEEN TO DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES. HAD TRANSMISSION REPLACED, BUT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. MECHANIC HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF CAUSE OF PROBLEM. *AK
WHEN GEAR SHIFT IS MOVED FROM PARK TO REVERSE THE INDICATOR SHOWS IT TO BE IN REVERSE BUT IT IS NOT. AT TIMES WHEN SHIFTED FROM PARK TO REVERSE THERE IS NO INDICATIONS AT ALL. DEALER REPLACED TRANSMISSION MODULE AFTER LONG TALKS WITH MANUFACTURER, BUT DID NOT FIX PROBLEM AND IS GETTING WORSE. TRANSMISSION CAN BE SHIFTED OUT OF PARK WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, APALLING!! *AK
WITH REGARD TO THE REAR SEAT BELTS. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT AS OF 2000 ALL VEHICLES SEAT BELTS MUST BE ABLE TO BE USED WITHOUT THE "H CLIP" WHEN SECURING A CHILD SAFETY SEAT. ON MY DURANGO I CAN NOT FIGURE OUT HOW THE SEAT BELT WORKS WITHOUT THE USE OF THE "H CLIP". I EVEN HAD AN ENGINEER FRIEND OF MINE WHO WORKS WITH GM SAFETY RESTRANTS SYSTEMS TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND HE COULD NOT FIGURE IT OUT EITHER. I AM LOOKING FOR SOME HELP AS WELL AS HOW THIS VEHICLE PASSED THE INSPECTION. THANK YOU!!!*AK
WHEN VEHICLE GOES OVER A POTHOLE, THE STEERING WHEEL HAS A LOT OF PLAY, FEELING AS IF YOU ARE LOSING CONTROL OF VEHICLE. DEALER HAS INSPECTED THE VEHICLE.*AK
WHILE ON VACATION AND TRAVELING UP TO 350 MILES FROM HOME, WITHOUT NOTICE THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE HEARD A LOUD NOISE UNDER THE HOOD. WE BEGAN TO LOSE PRESSURE AND IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND MANGE TO FIND THE ONLY GAS STATION/CONVENIENCE STORE FOR MILES. WE CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE THE NEAREST DODGE DEALER SHIP WHICH WAS APPROXIMENTLY 35 MILES AWAY IN MORGANTOWN, WV. AFTER LOOKING OVER THE CAR THE SERVICE MANAGER ALONG WITH HIS STAFF INFORMED US THAT THEY COULD NOT UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM. THEY STATED THAT THEY NEEDED MORE TIME IN ORDER TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT THE EXACT PROBLEM BECAUSE THAT HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE AND BECAUSE THEY WERE USE TO REPAIRING CARAVANS. WE HAD TO FIND A HOTEL ROOM FOR THE NIGHT FOR MY WIFE AND TWO CHILDREN. THE NEXT AFTERNOON WE RECEIVED A CALL NOTIFYING US THAT THE RIGHT SIDE OF OUR ENGINE WAS GONE AND THAT IT WOULD TAKE $6,000 IN ORDER TO FIX OUR PROBLEM. WE DID DECIDED TO TRY TO GET A SECOND OPINION AND CONTACT DEMLER CHRYSLER PRIOR TO TRYING TO PAY FOR AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT. WHEN ASKED HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN, THE DEALER NOTIFIED US THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW AND THAT THEY HAD NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE ACCEPT IN MUCH OLDER CARS WITH HUNDREDS OF MILES. WE PAID THE BILL FOR APPROXIMATELY $200 FOR THEM TO TELL US THAT OUR ENGINE WAS GONE, RENTED A CAR AND MADE ARRANGEMENTS FOR AAA TO TOW OUR CAR BACK TO MARYLAND WHICH AGAIN WAS OVER 350 MILES AWAY. THE VEHICLE ARRIVED AT OUR HOME APPROXIMATELY A WEEK LATER AND WE DISCOVERED THAT THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT PUT OUR ENGINE BACK TOGETHER BUT PLACED ALL THE REMOVED PARTS IN THE TRUCK OF THE CAR. WE NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER BY E-MAIL OF THIS PROBLEM. THEY NOTIFIED US THAT THEY WOULD RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM. THIS WAS ABOUT A WEEK AGO. *AK
UPON STARTING VEHICLE AND PUTTING IT INTO REVERSE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN. HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED. DEALER REFUSED TO REMEDY PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AKI
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES THERE IS VIBRATION THOUGHOUT BRAKE PEDAL AND STEERING COLUMN. PEDAL. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF PROBLEM.*AK
WHILE DRIVING STEERING WHEEL WAS PULLING TO THE LEFT. STEERING WAS ALSO A LITTLE LOOSE. TOOK VEHICLE TO MECHANIC FOR BRAKE WORK, AND MECHANIC INDICATED BALL JOINTS WERE BAD. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND HAD BALL JOINTS REPAIRED.*AK
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO PASSING GEAR, RPMS RISE AND LOSS OF POWER, WHILE STEADY ON GAS. *AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT SINCE VEHICLE WAS AT 11000 MILES THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS HAVE NEEDED CHANGING EVERY 12000 MILES. DEALER CONTACTED. TSCONSUMER STATES THAT 90 PERCENT OF DRIVING IS ON THE HIGHWAY. THE DEALER CHECKED THE BRAKE PADS AND THEY DID NOT SHOW SIGNS OF EXCESSIVE WEAR. *JG
FIRST THE 2000 PICKUPS WERE SUPPOSE TO COME WITH TIRE SIZE P225R75-16 BUT THEY CAME WITH SIZE P245R75-16. AT ABOUT MILAGE 15,663. I NOTICED THE THE LEFT FRONT TIRE WAS RUBBING WHEN MAKING A SHARP LEFT TURN SO I TOOK IT IN TO THE DODGE DEALER HERE IN PLAIN VIEW. THEY FIRST TOLD ME THAT I HAD PUT OVERSIZE TIRES ON MY PICK UP AND THAT IS WHY IT WAS RUBBING. AFTER A LOT OF TALKING AND CHECKING IS WHEN I FOUND OUT THE THEY HAD PUT OVERSIZE TIRES ON THE 2000 MODEL 1/2 TON PICKUPS. THEY SENT THE PICKUP TO AN SHOP AND THE PICK UP STARTED PULL AT THAT TIME. IT HAS BEEN TO TWO OTHER ALINEMENT SHOPS AND THEY ALL SAY THAT IT IS WITHIN SPECS BUT PULLS HARD TO THE RIGHT. ALSO THE OVERSIZE TIRES DO AFFECT THE SPEED-OMETER BY REGISTERING LESS MILES PER HOUR THAN YOU ARE GOING. DT
CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT IN WHICH THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. *JB
THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS BECAME STUCK, THE LOCKS WERE REPLACED TWICE. *JB *MR
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT IDLE A FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD. *NLM
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES NOT WORKING PROPERLY. ALSO, ROTORS HAVE BEEN CHANGED TWICE. MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, AND STATED THAT IT WAS NORMAL USAGE IN THE VEHICLE.*AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE TIRES ARE ROUNING OUT, CAUSING VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. TOOK TO DEALER, AND DEALER WAS OFFERING TO REPLACE THE BAD TIRE WITH A BRAND NEW SAME BRAND MODEL TIRE.*AK
VEHICLE'S STEERING GEAR AND IMMEDIATE SHAFT HAD TO BE REPLACED, DUE TO PART FAILURE , WHILE HAVING A ROUTINE INSPECTION DONE.

CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO MECHANIC FOR TIRE AND ALIGNMENT SERVICE. MECHANIC ADVISED CONSUMER COULD NOT PERFORM ALIGNMENT SERVICE BECAUSE BALL JOINTS WERE WORN EXCESSIVELY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.*AK
CONSUMER STATED THAT AFTER HAVING VEHICLE SERVICED TECHNICIAN NOTICED PASSENGER'S SIDE BALL JOINT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK

WHILE HAVING VEHICLE SERVICED CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT UPPER BALL JOINT HAD WORN PREMATURELY.*AK
THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN WITHOUT PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL, WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.*AK *CB *JB
