TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON 07/08/05 THE 2002 DODGE DURANGO SPORT CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHILE PARKED IN THE GARAGE. THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY THE UNUSED WIRE CONNECTOR AS MENTIONED IN RECALL CAMPAIGN# 06V339000 WHICH STATED THAT ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH FRONT BENCH SEATS ONLY, IF FLUID WAS SPILLED FROM THE FLOOR MOUNTED CUP HOLDER AN UNUSED CONSOLE POWER OUTLET CONNECTOR LOCATED UNDER THE SEAT MAY BECOME CONTAMINATED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN 11/06 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM THAT CAUSED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER ,AND WAS TOLD THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE INSURANCE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR REIMBURSEMENT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY SOMEONE ELSE OTHER THAN A DODGE DEALERSHIP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REPAIRS DONE ON THE VEHICLE SHOWED THAT THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE DUE TO THE WIRE CONNECTOR. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE MANUFACTURER HANDLED THIS MATTER UNPROFESSIONAL, AND FELT THEY SHOULD GIVE HER SOME TYPE OF REIMBURSEMENT. THE RECALL CAME TOO LATE, AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTACTS LOSS. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THE POINT OF ORIGIN OF THE FIRE SEEMED TO HAVE STARTED AT THE PLUG FOR A POWER SEAT OR HEATED SEAT. DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE BRAKES ON THE DRIVERS SIDE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE BRAKE PADS MELTED TO THE ROTOR AND THE CALIPERS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WERE REPLACED. THE BRAKES AND THE ROTORS WERE REPLACED ABOUT TWO MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS AND SIX MONTHS BEFORE THAT THEY WERE REPLACED. THE TOTAL AMOUNTS OF TIMES THE BRAKES HAS BEEN REPLACED 5-6 TIMES AND THAT IS CHANGING THE ROTORS MORE THAN TWICE. *NM
1. DRIVER'S SIDE SPINDLE NUT WORKS LOOSE CAUSING ROTOR TO BECOME LOOSE. 2. LOOSE ROTOR CAUSES THE SEALED BEARING TO LOOSE GREASE AND FAIL. CAN CASUE WHEEL LOSS OR LOSS OF CONTROL. 3. ROTOR AND SPINDLE NUT MUST BE REPLACED EACH TIME. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON THIS VEHICLE TWO TIMES.
DT:THE ENGINE SEIZED WITHOUT INDICATION. THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE ELEVATED AND WITHIN A MATTER OF SECONDS THE ENGINE LOCKED UP. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AND THE CONSUMER'S WIFE WAS PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A GROUND STRAP ATTACHED TO A COOLANT TUBE ON THE ENGINE, AND THAT RESULTED IN PREMATURE WEAR OF COOLING TUBE, ALLOWING ESCAPE OF COOLANT. THE ENGINE WAS DESTROYED. THE ENGINE WAS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THE COOLANT TUBE WAS NOT, AND THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY. MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND WOULD NOT HONOR WARRANTY AS WELL.*AK
JUNE 16, 2005 - MY SON TURNED 17. JUNE 23, 2005 - MY SON RECEIVED A 2002 DODGE DURANGO AS A GIFT. JUNE 26, 2005 - MY SON'S 2002 DODGE DURANGO'S DRIVER'S SEATBELT FAILED AS HE WAS EXITING HIS FATHER'S DRIVEWAY. JUNE 28, 2005 - TOOK DODGE IN FOR FAILED SEATBELT AND WAS TOLD VIA TELEPHONE THAT IT WOULD COST OVER $400.00 TO REPLACE. I CALLED MANUFACTURER AND COMPLAINED, SITING WEBSITES AND CBS (2003) DOCUMENTARY ABOUT THE CONTINUING PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. ONE OF THEM BEING THE FAILED SEATBELT. TO QUOTE "APPROXIMATELY 16 MILION DODGE VEHICLES HAVE A SEAT BELT THAT DOES NOT PASS THE STANDARD FOR ACCIDENTAL SAFETY". THEIR RESPONSE: WELL ITS' NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND ITS NOT A RECALL, BUT I'LL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO. THEY ARE CHARGING ME A "CO-PAY" OF $75.00 FOR A NEW COMPLETE REPLACEMENT. YOUR GOVERNMENT BRANCH, THE DODGE MANUFACTURER AND OWNERS OF THIS TYPE VEHICLE ARE WELL AWARE THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. COULD DODGE GIVE ME BACK MY SON IF MY SON HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND LOST HIS LIFE BECAUSE HIS DODGE DURANGO DRIVER'S SEAT BELT FAILED!! WHEN IS NHTSA GOING TO TAKE A STAND AND TELL THE DODGE MANUFACTURER TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR LEMONS. AS FAR AS THE QUESTIONS BELOW, NHTSA KNOWS BETTER THAN I.
DT: THE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE LOOSE. THEY WERE SO LOOSE THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE ALIGNED. THEY HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE UPPER BALL JOINTS, BUT NOT FOR THE LOWER BALL JOINT. *AK *TT
DT: THE INNER TIE ROD END BROKE,. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 60,000 MILES ON IT. NO NOISE OR VIBRATION HEARD. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON 5/27/05 BOTH FRONT BRAKECALIPERS LOCKED, FORTUNATELY ONLY TRAVELING A FEW MILES..BRAKES SMOLDERING...WARPED ROTAORS AND CRYSTALIZED BOTH FRONT BRAKES' PADS...FOR CORRECTION NEW MASTER CLYINDER,FRON ROTORS,CALIPERS AND BRAKE PADS
THE CENTRAL TIMER MODULE STARTED MALFUNCTIONING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. HEADLIGHTS, PARKING LIGHTS, INTERIOR LIGHTS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS, 4-WHEEL DRIVE AND OTHER ELECTRIC ACCESSORIES STOP WORKING WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS WITH NO WARNING. DISCONNECTING BATTERY FIXES THESE PROBLEMS TEMPORARILY, BUT IGNITION CHIME GOES OFF CONTINUOUSLY WHILE DRIVING UNTIL ALL OF THE ABOVE ACCESSORIES STOP WORKING ALTOGETHER. VEHICLE IS PAST BASIC WARRANTY, SO DEALER REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE MODULE.
THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DEACTIVATED AND CANNOT BE REACTIVATED DUE TO INSTALLATION OF A HANDICAPPED POWER CHAIR. *NM THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT STAYED OFF MAJORITY OF THE TIME. THE SERVICE DEPT INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THERE WAS NO WAY TO ACTIVATE THE AIR BAG IF THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS REMOVED. THE COMPANY WHO INSTALLED THE SEAT STATED THAT THEY FAILED TO HOOK UP A WIRE. *SC *JB
THE VEHICLE HAS A LITTLE OVER 35K MILES ON IT. IT FAILED THE SAFETY INSPECTION BECAUSE RIGHT INBOARD BRAKE PAD WAS LOOSE. IT WAS LOOSE BECAUSE THE ANTI-RATTLE CLIP HAD ROTTED AWAY INSIDE THE CALIPER PISTON. THE LEFT SIDE WAS INTACT BUT NEARLY RUSTED AWAY. THERE WAS OVER 50% OF THE FRICTION MATERIAL LEFT ON PADS.
MY AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT THAT CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END, AND WITH THE IMPACT IT SELF NOTHING HAPPENED I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THAT IF IT'S GOT TO BE TO WHERE I'M ALMOST INJURED CRITICALLY FOR IT TO DEPOLY FOR THE PROTECTION OF MY HEAD WHICH DID HIT THE STEERING WHEEL.
OCCASIONALLY UNDER NORMAL OR SLIGHTLY HEAVY BREAKING THE ANTI-LOCK BREAK SYSTEM WILL KICK IN WITH A NOTICEABLY LONG PAUSE BETWEEN BREAKING AND ROLLING. THIS CAUSES OUR DURANGO TO TAKE LONGER TO STOP THAN NORMAL. I HAVE HAD A COUPLE INSTANCES WHERE I STOPPED TOO CLOSE TO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME OR TOO CLOSE TO THE CROSS WALK BECAUSE THE VEHICLE'S BREAKING SYSTEM FAILED. MY WIFE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN THE DURANGO WOULD NOT STOP SOON ENOUGH BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM.
HAD TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP AND ABS SYSTEM WAS DANGEROUSLY SLOW TO ENGAGE, RELEASE AND RE-ENGAGE. BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND BARELY STOPPED BEFORE HITTING VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. TOOK IT TO 2 DEALERS AND BOTH SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS. MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD!
NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 04596000 CONCERNING UPPER BALL JOINT WEAR. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR RECALL REPAIRS. A FEW HOURS LATER DRIVER CONTACTED THE DEALER, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS READY, AND THAT RECALL REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. DRIVER PICKED UP THE VEHICLE, AND WAS ADVISED THAT REPAIRS HAD NOT BEEN PERFORMED, AND TO COME BACK ANOTHER DAY. *AK
03/1205 DRIVING ON PALMDALE ROAD MY CAR STOPPED I WAS UNABLE TO GET IT STARTED - HAD IT TOWED TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP ON 03/14/05. THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE AFTER HAVING MY VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. I GOT MY CAR BACK IN MAY. ON MAY 09 I RETURNED MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON. THEY CHECK THE VEHICLE AND SAID THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. ON MAY 13 2005 I DROVE MY CAR DOWN TO LA AND THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON I CONTACTED THE SERVICE DEPT AT DODGE THEY TOLD ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK IN. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE ON MAY 15, 2005. THEY THEN INSTALLED REMANVALVE BODY AS PER PPC CLEAR CODES. ON JULY 21, 2005 I WAS LEAVING THE OFFICE WHEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND MY CAR WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS. I WENT INTO AUTO ZONE AND THEY CHECKED THE CODE THAT CAME UP WHICH WAS P0700 - TRANSMISSION CODE. WE CHECKED THE FLUID IT WAS FINE. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE HOME - APPROXIMATELY 8 - 10 MILES MY CAR OVER HEATED. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED THE CAR OVER TURNED OFF THE CAR AND PLACED THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON. I CONTACTED MY SON. HE CAME OUT AND BROUGHT WITH HIM SOME ANTIFREEZE AND WATER. HE CHECKED THE VEHICLE OUT AND PLACED IN THE ANTIFREEZE AND WATER - THE VEHICLE STARTED - THERE WERE NO NOISES. WE DROVE IT THE 2 MILES HOME. BY THE TIME I GOT HOME IT WAS OVER HEATING AGAIN. HE OPENED THE ENGINE AND HE COULD HEAR A NOISE COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE ENGINE - HE TOLD ME THAT MY HEAD GASKETS WERE MOST LIKELY BLOWN. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP. THEY BLAMES THE WARRANTY COMPANY SAYING THAT IT WAS ''THEIR ENGINE AND THEY WOULD NOT PERMIT THEM TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION AS THEY REQUESTED''. I CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY THIS MORNING AND ADVISED THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. I ADVISED LAZERO AT THE WARRANTY COMPANY I HAD DONE SOME RESEARCH AND I HAD FOUND OUT LAST NIGHT THAT CHRYSLER HAS HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH MY ENGINE.

JUST DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND CHECK GAUGES COME ON AND I PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY AND WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND THE ENGINE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. I OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 4 MONTHS.*AK
INTERMITTENTLY THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM WOULD CAUSE THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO COME ON OR GO OUT BY IT SELF (HEADLIGHT POWER DOOR LOCKS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS, HEADLIGHTS, ETC) OR CAUSE THE SUV TRUCK TO STALL COMPLETELY. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *JB

WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE CAME OFF THE VEHICLE, RESULTING IN A COLLISION. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED. DEALERSHIP INFORMED THE CONSUMER OF THE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT FAILURE. PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED.*AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL CAMPAIGN 04V596000 CONCERNING BALL JOINT WEAR. NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. SERVICE MANAGER DENNIS DZEK. *AK
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. TOOK OUR 2002 DODGE DURANGO TO OUR 5 STAR DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD WE HAD SLUDGE IN OUR ENGINE. THIS VEHICLE HAD 24,289 MILES AT THIS TIME. BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER SAID THE SLUDGE WAS DO TO OWNER NEGLECT SINCE I COULDN'T PRODUCE EIGHT OIL CHANGE RECEIPTS. THE OIL WAS CHANGED ABOUT EVERY 6,000 MILES. NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY ARE NOT GOING TO COVER THE REPAIR UNDER THE 3 YEAR 36,000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY OR THE 100,000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. *JB
RECALL CAMPAIGN 04V596000 CONCERNING BALL JOINT WEAR. CONSUMER HAD AN APPOINTMENT FOR MARCH 4, 2005 FOR RECALL REPAIRS. DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. ON MARCH 3, 2005. CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE APPOINTMENT WAS CANCELED DUE TO NO PARTS, AND THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. *AK
BRAKE PROBLEMS WITH MY 2002 DODGE DURANGO XLT PLUS. AT HIGH OR LOW SPEEDS WHEN YOU HAVE TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP AND HIT THE BRAKES, THEY ATTEMPT TO GRAB BUT THEN LET GO, AND YOUR ONLY HOPE IS TO STOP IN TIME. I HAVE HAD THE BRAKES LOOKED AT BY 2 MECHANICS OTHER THAN THE DODGE DEALERSHIP(TIM PARKER OF HOT SPRINGS) AND BOTH SAY THAT THERE IS A DEFINITE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. HOWEVER, AFTER SPENDING $300 FOR BRAKE PADS AND SEVERAL OTHER VISITS TO TIM PARKERS, THEY KEEP DENYING A PROBLEM AND TELL ME THAT IS JUST HOW THE BRAKES ARE ON THE DODGE. I ASKED THEM IF WHEN THAT 1 SMALL CHILD RUNS OUT IN THE STREET TO CATCH HIS BALL AND I AM THE UNLUCKY PERSON TO BE TRAVELING DOWN THAT STREET AND I APPLY THE BRAKES BUT CAN NOT STOP, IF THEY WOULD BE READY TO ACCEPT THEIR RESPONSIBLILITY. I HAVE COPIES OF ALL REPORTS FROM THEM STATING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AT ALL BUT TRAVELEING 64 MILES A DAY IT IS NECESSARY. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME? SURELY I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON COMPLAINING OF THE BRAKES! *NM
04V596000/BALL JOINT WEAR. OWNER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM THE MANUFACTURER IN DECEMBER 2004. OWNER CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE DEFECT WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE NEXT AVAILABLE OPENING FOR THE DEFECT REPAIR WILL BE IN MAY,2005. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB

WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE BECAME UNSTABLE. THE CONSUMER GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE OUTSIDE WALL OF THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT TIRE WAS NOTICEABLY WARNED. THE OWNER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER WHO INSTRUCTED THE OWNER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST DODGE DEALER. THE DEALER REFUSED TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WOULD NOT RENDER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
THERE WAS A KNOCKING NOISE AND GRINDING SOUND IN THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WHEEL. AFTER LOOKING AT IT FURTHER, THE TIE-ROD THAT CONNECTS TO THE RACK AND PINION STRIPPED THE THREAD AND FELL OFF. THE ABILITY TO STEER THE VEHICLE PROPERLY WAS LOST AND CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERLY IMPACTED.*AK
I'M DRIVING A 2002 DODGE DURANGO. MY CAR PULLED TO THE RIGHT, I GOT A TIRE ROTATION AND NOW IT'S PULLING TO THE LEFT. I SAW IN THE NEWS THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT UPPER JOINT BALL, SO THAT COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH MY PROBLEM. THE TIRES ARE FINE.*AK
THE UPPER BALL JOINT IS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HAVE DIFFICULT CONTROL ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING TURNS. CONSUMER WILL TAKE VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS FOR THE SECOND TIME.*AK
THE FRONT LEFT SIDE BALL JOINT WAS MAKING A GRINDING NOISE CAUSING THE WHEEL TO SHAKE AND MAINTAIN CONTROL. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A MONTH.*AK
NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 04V596000; DAIMLER CHRYSLER ISSUED AN UPPER BALL JOINT RECALL. THIS VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, BUT THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE IN ORDER TO REPAIR, WHICH WAS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE FRONT WHEELS COULD FALL OFF.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION, HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER.*AK
ENGINE JUST STOPPED. CAR WAS TAKEN TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THERE IS SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE. SO FAR NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *JB
ON OCTOBER 22ND 2004 I TOOK MY 2002 DODGE DURANGO IN FOR ROUTINE SERVICE, AN OIL CHANGE, TIRE ROTATION ETC. IT HAD BEEN RIDING ROUGHER THAN NORMAL AND I HAD NOTICED THAT THE TIRES WERE WEARING UNEVENLY SO I ASKED THEM TO LOOK IT OVER AND SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG. UPON EXAMINING THE VEHICLE THE MECHANIC FOUND THAT BOTH UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE CONTROL ARM. MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 38316 MILES AND HAD TO PUT NEARLY $1000 FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE WORN OUT THAT QUICKLY. HAD I NOT GONE IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AT THAT TIME SOMETHING FAR MORE SERIOUS COULD HAVE HAPPENED AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE I NOW NEED TO REPLACE MY TIRES.*AK

WHEN DRIVING ANY SPEED, THE CONSUMER WOULD HEAR A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE UPPER/LOWER BALL JOINT. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE CAUSE WAS NOT DETERMINED. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION. *NM
DAIMLER/CHRYSLER SEAT WARMERS CAUSING FIRES, BURNT SEATS, BURNT CLOTHING AND CAUSING INJURIES TO PARAPLEGIC. *SC *JB
THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF THE CONSUMER SLAMMED ON BRAKES. THE INCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY PITTED ROTORS. THE BRAKE SHOES GRABBED HARD ON THE PITTED ROTORS CAUSED THE ABS TO KICK IN WHICH ALSO CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO JERK IN STOP AND GO MOTION. *AK *SC
1-ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ON OVERHEAD DIGITAL COMPASS SYSTEM BECAME VERY HOT. THIS ELECTRICAL COMPONENT SYSTEM DID NOT WORK FOR A PERIOD OF A FEW DAYS. IT HAS INTERMITTENTLY WORKED NOW. 2-WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL THERE IS A HORRIBLE NOISE COMING FROM ONE OF THE REAR WHEELS. IT MAKES A "WOO-WOO" SOUND EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS TURNED, PRIMARILY TURNING RIGHT. A "HONEST" MECHANIC, WHO IS A FRIEND, TOLD ME THAT DODGE (CHRYSLER) WAS INFAMOUS FOR THIS TYPE OF WHEEL PROBLEM. 3-THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO HAVE A HARD TIME SHIFTING, WHICH INVOLVES THE ABOVE WHEEL PROBLEM. 4-THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM DOES NOT COOL AND THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. 5-THE LEATHER COVERED DASH IS PEELING UP AND BEGAN LAST SUMMER, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD. CONTACTED CHRYSLER/DODGE HQ AND DEALERSHIP AND BOTH HAVE REFUSED TO REPAIR PROBLEM.

BUT I AM TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. IT IS EXTRMELY CLEAR IT SHOULD BE.
