IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT HAD TO PLAY WITH THE SWITCH FOR THE IGNITION TO TURN. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,605.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 DODGE DURANGO. AFTER DRIVING INTO A HOLE AT 35 MPH, THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED UNEXPECTEDLY. THE DEPLOYMENT CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CHEST, STOMACH, AND LEFT ARM. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT KNEE, HAND, HIP, AND LEFT KNEE THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000. THE VIN WAS NOT UNAVAILABLE.
THE DURANGO CUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP (OR HAD IT TOWED) 6 TIMES IN THE PAST 7 MONTHS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT FIXED. WE LOSE THE ABILITY TO STEER OR BRAKE WHEN THE ENGINE CUTS OFF.
IF I FILLED TANK WITH GAS COMPLETELY IT WOULD OVERFLOW, SO I WOULD NEVER FILL ALL THE WAY. NOW I CAN BARELY PUT ANY GAS IN IT WITHOUT IT OVERFLOWING, EVEN AT THE SLOWEST RATE.
I CALLED AUTONATION CHRYSLER DODGE IN CENTENNIAL COLORADO WHERE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX MY SAFETY RECALL FOR A DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR. THEY TOLD ME THEY DIDN'T HAVE TIME AND I WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE MY VEHICLE FOR DAYS UNTIL THEY GOT AROUND TO IT BECAUSE THEIR DEALERSHIP ISN'T "A DOCTOR'S OFFICE!" I AM APPALLED. I AM PREGNANT AND HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THIS VEHICLE EVERYDAY. I CAN'T JUST LEAVE MY CAR UNTIL THEY GET AROUND TO IT. PLEASE HELP.

THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER A MANUFACTURERS AIR BAG RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 128,000.
FUEL COMES OUT AFTER FILLING TANK. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND SO VERY DANGEROUS. I CAN TELL ITS GONE ON A WHILE WITH MY RIG CAUSE PAINT IS ALL WEARING AWAY BY FUEL SPOUT. I SEE THIS IS A HUGE COMPLAINT FOR LOTS OF PEOPLE. CAN'T BELIEVE DODGE WON'T FIX SITUATION. THEY NEED TO WAIT FOR DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY FIRST. I WILL BE GETTING RID OF MINE AS SOON AS I CAN AND I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER DODGE. ALL THE STORIES I'VE HEARD ABOUT DODGE ARE TRUE. THIS IS MY FIRST AND LAST ONE I WILL EVER OWN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES HAD EXCESSIVELY ROTTED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TIRE TREAD AND ALL OVER THE SIDEWALLS. THE TIRES WERE REPLACEMENT TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE FROM FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES FOR THE AIRBAGS IN MAY. THE NOTICE SAID THAT PARTS WEREN'T AVAILABLE AND THAT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN THEY WERE. I NEVER HEARD FROM DODGE, SO I CALLED RENO DODGE ON OCTOBER 3RD TO REQUEST SERVICE. I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD GET A RETURN CALL WITH MORE INFORMATION. ON OCTOBER 9TH, I STILL HADN'T RECEIVED A RETURN CALL AND CALLED A SECOND TIME. I WAS FORWARDED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ONCE AGAIN AND LEFT A MESSAGE ON THEIR VOICEMAIL. THIS CALL WAS ALSO NOT RETURNED. ON OCTOBER 10TH, I WENT ON THE WEB SITE AND CHATTED WITH THE ONLINE AGENT. I EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL FROM SOMEONE WHO COULD HELP ME. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL TO REMEDY MY RECALLED AIRBAGS.
FUEL TANK SPRAYS FUEL AND SPILLS UP TO A QUART OF GASOLINE WHEN FILLER NOZZLE SHUTS OFF. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2015 WITH APPROXIMATELY 91,000 MILES. IT IS A LIMITED 4X4 MODEL WITH A 5.7L HEMI MULTI DISPLACEMENT ENGINE. UPON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE, SECONDS AFTER THE FUEL NOZZLE CLICKS OFF A GUSHING SHOULD IS HEARD AND IMMEDIATELY A SPRAY OF GASOLINE IS EJECTED FROM THE FILLER NECK. IT HAS BECOME TOO DANGEROUS TO FILL THE TANK AND I MUST RESORT TO PURCHASING A LESS THAN FULL TANK. NOT ONLY IS THIS ANNOYING BUT IT ALSO PRESENTS AN EXTREME FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DUE TO THE QUANTITY OF GASOLINE EJECTED. BOTH MYSELF AND SEVERAL GAS STATION ATTENDANTS HAVE BEEN SOAKED IN GASOLINE BY THIS DEFECT OF NOT SHUTTING OFF THE FILLER CHECK VALVE WHEN FULL. I BELIEVE THE 2005-2006 MODELS OF THIS SAME VEHICLE WERE RECALLED FOR A SIMILAR PROBLEM WHICH REQUIRED REPLACING THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK AND FILLER PIPE AS AN ASSEMBLY. IF THIS PROBLEM IS ALLOWED TO GO UNCHECKED IT REPRESENTS A HAZARD TO THE SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF THIS GENERATION 2005 TO 2009 DURANGOS ON THE ROAD AND THEIR OCCUPANTS.
THE SERVICE 4WD LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON AND GOING BACK OFF. IT IS AN AWD MODEL DURANGO. I'VE READ FORUMS AND A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. THE TRANSFER CASE WILL SOMETIMES SHIFT INTO FULL TIME 4WD ON ITS OWN, YOU CAN HERE THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFTING WITH THE VEHICLE OFF, WHEN YOU ACTIVATE THE POWER LOCKS. BUT LAST NIGHT ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH IT DECIDED TO SHIFT INTO 4WD LOW ON ITS OWN, MY ENGINE WENT UP TO 6000 RPM ON THE TACH AND I LOST SPEED, ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I THOUGHT THE DRIVE TRAIN WAS GOING TO BLOW UP. I THINK THERE SHOULD AT LEAST BE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM, DUE TO SAFETY.
VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO 4WD AND THEN TO NEUTRAL AND WOULD NOT SHIFT BACK. HAD TO PULL TO SIDE OF ROAD TO AVOID A COLLISION. THE PROBLEM HERE IS ACTUALLY THE TRANSFER CASE MOTOR. ON THE AWD MODEL IT IS A 2 SPEED MOTOR ON 2WD IT IS A ONE SPEED MOTOR. THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE YOU NEED TO KNOW WHICH YOU HAVE IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO REPLACE IT
DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT AND VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO 4X4 LOW ON ITS OWN. SHIFTED BACK OUT OF 4X4 A FEW MINUTES LATER. STARTED DRIVING IT AGAIN AND IT SHIFTED INTO 4X4 AND AS I MADE A TURN, IT SHIFTED INTO 4X4 LOW. STAYED IN 4X4 LOW FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND JUMPED BACK OUT OF 4X4 LOW. NOT SURE IF IT JUMPED INTO 4X4 OR REGULAR ALL WHEEL DRIVE. WENT TO TURN INTO MY DRIOVEWAY AND IT AGAIN SHIFTED INTO 4X4 LOW. UNEXPECTADLY SHIFTING INTO 4X4 OR 4X4 LOW WHEN DRIVING.

WHENEVER I FILL THE TANK WITH GAS, WHEN THE PUMP CLICKS OFF, AND THEN GAS SPEWS OUT ALL OVER THE PLACE. THERE IS A "TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN" DESCRIBING THIS PROBLEM ON MY VEHICLE, BUT WHEN I WENT TO THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL AND ASKED IF THEY WOULD FIX THE GAS PROBLEM, THEY SAID THAT THE "TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN" WAS JUST "COURTESY INFORMATION" AND IF I WANTED TO "FIX" IT, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. I'VE SEEN ONLINE THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THEIR VEHICLE FIXED AT THEIR DEALERSHIP FOR FREE. I DON'T KNOW IF I WAS LIED TO, OR IF THE DRIVERS I READ ABOUT ONLINE JUST HAVE BETTER DEALERSHIPS THAN I DO HERE. I LOVE THE DURANGO - IT'S A GREAT VEHICLE, BUT THE GAS FILL PROBLEM IS A MESS. I WISH I COULD GET CHRYSLER TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
WE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN LATE JULY (?) AND MY HUSBAND WENT TO ROY'S GRAND DODGE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. HE WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE AWHILE UNTIL THEY COULD GET TO US BECAUSE THERE WERE SO MANY OF THE RECALLS. MY HUSBAND RETURNED TO CHECK ON A DATE TO HAVE THE RECALL FIXED ON AUGUST 28 AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD ONLY DO 3-4 RECALLS A WEEK AND THEY WOULD GET TO US SOMETIME. OVER A MONTH HAS PASSED SINCE WANTING TO FIX THE RECALL AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS DODGE. WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT IN THE DODGE BEFORE THE AIR BAG IS REPAIRED?

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR I TURNED TO PARK AND IT SHUT OFF. IT HAS DONE THIS MANY TIMES, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR FOR FEAR IT WILL SHUT OFF ON THE HIGHWAY.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONSTANTLY REMAINS ON AFTER ALL CODES HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED. THIS VEHICLE IS ROUTINELY GIVEN MAINTENANCE CHECKS. OTHER THE CODES GIVEN (P40), WHAT COULD THE ISSUE BY? I HAVE CALLED MY LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR ASSISTANCE WITH THE RECENT RECALL HOPING THAT WOULD HELP RESOLVE THE ISSUE, BUT THE CLERK WAS VERY RUDE STATING THEY WERE BUSY. I LOVE MY VEHICLE BUT FOR SAFETY CONCERNS, I FEEL I MAY NEED TO GET RID OF IT IF THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO KENDALL DODGE FOR THE SAFETY RECALL ON PART # R25/NHTSA 15V-313 (WHICH IS PART OF MY AIRBAG) TO BE REPLACED AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS SAYING THAT THE RECALL COULD NOT BE COMPLETED BECAUSE THERE IS "CLOCK SPRING CONNECTOR TAB PART # 107300 THAT IS DAMAGED AND THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX THIS. MY CONCERN IS OBVIOUSLY THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS CLAIMING THAT IF MY CAR IN AN ACCIDENT MY AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. IT APPEARS THAT THIS CAR WAS IN A FRONT END COLLISION AND SOMEONE TAMPERED WITH THE AIRBAG (GLUED ALL THE BACK TOGETHER) IN ORDER TO HIDE DAMAGE. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? IS THIS NOT SOMETHING THAT REQUIRED INSPECTION PRIOR TO SALE?

DURING THE CRASH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE, BUT THE NEITHER THE DRIVER NOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED LUMBAR SPINE, A FRACTURED STERNUM, AND A FRACTURED RIB. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED CLAVICLE AND RIB. BOTH OCCUPANTS RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

I WAS TRAVELING ON I99 SOUTHBOUND AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY VEHICLE DOWNSHIFT FROM 4TH GEAR TO 3RD. I PULLED OVER TO INVESTIGATE BUT COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND TURNED MY VEHICLE BACK ON. I POSITIONED THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER TO DRIVE (D) AND STARTED DRIVING AGAIN. I NOTICED A LACK OF ACCELERATION AS THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN A HIGH GEAR. I HAD THE TRANSMISSION FLUID DRAINED, THE FILTERS REPLACED AND HAD THE TRANSMISSION REFILLED WITH NEW TRANSMISSION FLUID. I CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL EACH WEEK TO SEE IF I HAVE A LEAK BUT NO LEAKS WERE DETECTED. THIS HAS BEEN A CONTINUING PROBLEM AND THE DEALER QUOTE ME A FIGURE OVER $2000. I AM A DISABLED VIETNAM VETERAN AND LIVE ON MY DISABILITY RIGHT NOW. I CANNOT AFFORD THIS EXPENSIVE REPAIR.

APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS AGO, I HAD MY DURANGO IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. THEY PUT IN A NEW SOLENOID AND ELECTRICAL COMPUTER PARTS ON THE ENGINE TO THE COSTLY TUNE OF $2903. ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14TH, APPARENTLY THE ENGINE HAS NOW SPUN A BEARING/THROWN A ROD. THEY TELL ME IT IS GOING TO REQUIRE A NEW ENGINE AND ALL OF THE NEW PARTS THAT WERE PUT IN 3 WEEKS AGO WILL COME OUT WITH THE DEFECTIVE ENGINE. I'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT ALL OVER AGAIN. HELP PLEASE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE DAMAGED TIRE WITH A SPARE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER. THE VEHICLE STALLS/LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, IT GIVES NO WARNING AND ONCE THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER YOU LOSE CONTROL OF STEERING AND COME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. THIS LEAVE THE VEHICLE STRANDED WHEREVER YOU ARE WITH LITTLE TO NO WAY TO SAFELY PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY. THE FRONT CALIPERS OF MY DURANGO HAVE SEIZED UP 7 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 YEARS. IT IS PROFESSIONALLY SERVICED AND THE SHOP IS BECOMING TIRED OF SERVICING THE VEHICLE SINCE THE FAILURES OCCUR UNDER THE WARRANTY PERIOD AND DOESN'T COST ME ANYTHING EXCEPT TIME. THE TIME BETWEEN FAILURES IS INCREASING. IT WAS ONLY 3 MONTHS AND 2000 MILES SINCE HAVING NEW CALIPERS INSTALLED THIS TIME. THE SHOP HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 3 DAYS BECAUSE SO MANY DODGE VEHICLES ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM CALIPERS ARE IN SHORT SUPPLY. *TR
MY WIFE AND I HAVE A CONCERN WITH OUR 2007 MODEL AS TO THE PROXIMITY OF THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL.
