TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHILE MAKING A TURN. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CENTRAL COMPUTER WAS REPLACED DUE TO THE ENGINE FAILING TO START; HOWEVER, THE REPAIR CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,848. UPDATED 03/31/14*LJ THE DEALER REPLACED THE CENTER COMPUTER AND SO FAR, THE STALLING HAS NOT RETURNED. UPDATED 04/01/14
I NORMALLY DRIVE W/THE HEADLIGHTS IN THE AUTO ON POSITION AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE HEADLIGHTS AND MY DASH LIGHT TURNED OFF, WHEN I SWITCHED TO MANUALLY TURN THEM ON THEY CAME ON. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY BUT I HAVE NOT YET CONTACTED THE DEALER. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V115000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
I WAS SETTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WHEN MY HEADLIGHTS CAME ON AND ALL DASH LIGHTS WENT OUT,ANOTHER OCCASION PARKED AND MAP LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD NOT SHUT OFF ALSO DASH LIGHTS WENT OUT THIS IS HAPPENING TO OFTEN I HAVE HAD IT IN THE DEALER WITH NO LUCK I WILL NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT BECAUSE TO ME IT IS UNSAFE.THIS HAS HAPPENED FIVE TIMES. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE NOT APPLIED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED TWICE BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE REPAIRS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V154000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
THERE HAS BEEN MORE THAN ONE INCIDENT DATE ON THIS ISSUE. I JUST ENTERED THE LAST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. WHEN GOING TO START MY VEHICLE IT STARTS, THAN AUTOMATICALLY STALLS. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN OVER 6 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS. I HAVE READ COUNTLESS REPORTS OF OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE...WITH THE TIPM. HOW THERE IS A NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND PEOPLE'S CARS HAVE BEEN IN SHOPS FOR OVER A MONTH. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL AND GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED FOLLOWING THE ILLUMINATION OF THE NO KEY WARNING MESSAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND PROCEEDED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
MY DURANGO HAS HAD MANY PROBLEMS WHEN TRYING TO START IT SINCE I INITIALLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT 7 TIMES TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY IT WON'T START ON MANY OCCASIONS. I WILL ALSO START AND THEN SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY. IT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND EVEN AFTER GETTING THE R09 FUEL PUMP RELAY FIX I STILL HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. AFTER DOING COUNTLESS HOURS OF RESEARCH IT APPEARS IT IS THE ACTUAL TIPM THAT HAS GONE BAD AND WILL COST ME AROUND 1500$ IT IS A DISGRACE THAT DODGE WILL NOT JUST RECALL THE BAD TIPM. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ONLINE WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS ME AND I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU ALL WILL LOOK INTO THIS MORE CONSIDERING HOW DANGEROUS IT IS ESPECIALLY IF DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND YOUR VEHICLE JUST SHUTS DOWN FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHICH IS ONE OF THE SYMPTOMS OF THIS BAD TIPM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY APPROXIMATELY FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING; HOWEVER, THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
I HAVE HAD AN INTERMITTENT TRANSMISSION/ELECTRONIC MALFUNCTION. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND MOVING THE SHIFT LEVER FROM "P" (PARK) TO "D" (DRIVE) THE NUMERAL "4" IS DISPLAYED IN THE EVIC (ELECTRONIC VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER) WHERE ONE WOULD EXPECT TO SEE THE LETTER "D". AT THIS POINT WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PUSHED THE VEHICLE MOVES FORWARD BUT WITH A DISTINCT LACK OF POWER. WHEN MOVING THE SHIFT LEVER TO THE LEFT -- THE ERS (ELECTRONIC RANGE SELECT) FUNCTION OF THE SHIFT LEVER IN NON-FUNCTIONING -- THE VEHICLE STAYS IN 4TH GEAR AND THE NUMERAL IN THE EVIC WINDOW IS STILL "4". THE VEHICLE IS "STUCK" IN 4TH GEAR. THE ONLY WAY TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO "NORMAL" FUNCTION IS TO TURN IT OFF AND RESTART THE ENGINE. UPON RESTART THE PROBLEM HAS NEVER REPEATED ITSELF. THE INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AND HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED (VIDEO USING AN IPHONE) ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT SEVERAL TIMES, AND ON EACH OCCASION DIFFERENT "FIXES" HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTED. THE "MALFUNCTION" HAPPENED AGAIN ON APRIL 9TH, 2014, THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE FRONT AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TAIL AND HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WITHOUT WARNING AND THE RADIO SCREEN FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE FAILURES RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V115000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN STOPPING THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKES WOULD PULSATE AND ENGAGE AN ABRUPT STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN FOR INSPECTION OR DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS WHEN I GET IN THE VEHICLE TO START IT, VIA PUSH BUTTON START, THE VEHICLE WILL START AN IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN. ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE RESULT IN A 15-30 SECOND REPETITIVE START LOOP WITHOUT THE VEHICLE STARTING, AT WHICH POINT A RED LIGHT WILL BEGIN BLINKING ON THE CENTER CONSOLE. TYPICALLY THE VEHICLE HAS TO REST FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO MINUTES BEFORE ATTEMPTING A RESTART, SOME OF WHICH ARE SUCCESSFUL AND SOME ARE NOT. THE VEHICLE IS ALSO TAKING UP TO 10 SECONDS TO SHUT DOWN ONCE THE PUSH BUTTON IS DEPRESSED TO TURN OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS BEGINNING TO BECOME A REAL SAFETY CONCERN AS IN AN EMERGENCY I CANNOT TRUST THAT I CAN SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE. *TR
SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN 2012 THE AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT ACTUALLY COOL WHEN THE REMOTE START IS USED. WE LIVE IN ARIZONA WHERE AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE IS OVER 110 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, AND HAS BEEN SEEN IN THE 130S, 4 MONTHS A YEAR. I HAVE USED A THERMOCOUPLE TO MEASURE INTERIOR TEMPERATURE OF THE DURANGO AND I HAVE SEEN IT UP TO 160 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. HAVING 2 YOUNG CHILDREN THE AIR CONDITIONING NOT OPERATING WHEN THE REMOTE START IS UTILIZED IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, WHETHER IT IS LEAVING A STORE OR AT THE HOUSE. CHILDREN ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO DEHYDRATION AND HEAT STROKE MORE EASILY THAN ADULTS, THEREFORE EXPOSING YOUR CHILD FOR JUST A FEW MINUTES IS DANGEROUS. WE HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHEN IT IS IN FOR SERVICING. THEY HAVE YET TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION AND THEY STATED THERE WOULD BE A COMPUTER UPDATE TO REPAIR THIS. THE VEHICLE FIRST HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THE DEALER WOULD NOT FIX IT BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NOT ON AND CHRYSLER WOULDN'T AUTHORIZE. THE VEHICLE WOULD JUMP IN REVERSE OR ROLL AND NOT GO IN GEAR. LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT WAS REPAIRED. THEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN HAVING DIFFICULTY STARTING. THE MOTOR JUST CONTINUES TRYING TO TURN OVER. YOU HAVE TO TURN THE KEY OFF AND TRY TO START A COUPLE OF MORE TIMES AND THEN IT WILL RUN. THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS. I STARTED IT AFTER PUTTING GAS IN AT A GAS STATION AND STEPPED ON THE GAS AND IT DIED. I STARTED IT AND STARTED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND IT DIED AND CONTINUED ROLLING. IT ALSO DIED WHEN MY WIFE WAS PULLING AWAY FROM MY SONS SCHOOL. CHRYSLER HAS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR ALMOST A YEAR TO GET IT REPAIRED. I FIRST REPORTED THE INCIDENTS IN 2014 TO BOTH CHRYSLER AND A DODGE DEALERSHIP. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CANT GET THE PARTS FROM CHRYSLER....UPDATED 09-29-15 *BF
BRAKING SYSTEM VACUUM BOOST IS LEAKING OVER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME (TYPICALLY 8 HOURS). PEDAL FEEL IS FIRM AFTER THE TIME PERIOD AND DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS. AFTER VEHICLE IS STARTED THE VACUUM BOOST AND PEDAL FEEL RETURNS TO NORMAL. A DEALER SERVICE APPOINTMENT HAS BEEN MADE FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR. *TR
ON JAN 24TH AND ON FEB 7TH, THE DODGE DURANGO DID NOT START AND WAS TOWED VIA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO THE 5 TOWNS CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS THAT COST UNNECESSARY 1200.00. AN EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS INSTALLED BY THE DEALER. THIS IS A S A RESULT OF AN INADEQUATE, FAULTY AND DEFECTIVE THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WHICH CAUSED THE CAR TO STOP RUNNING. THIS CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND LOSS OF LIVES. *TR
THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED WITH APPROXIMATELY 19,000 MILES. CURRENT MILEAGE IS 37,705. DURING ABOUT 1/3 OF ALL ENGINE STARTS, HOT AND COLD, THE ENGINE WILL RUN BRIEFLY (LESS THAN 5 SECONDS) AND THEN STALL. THE ENGINE WILL USUALLY START AND RUN ON THE SECOND TRY BUT SOMETIMES WILL NOT START UNTIL THE THIRD TRY. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AT APPROXIMATELY 30,000 MILES BY THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN CATHEDRAL CITY, CA, WHICH REPORTED THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *TR
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE DURING THE FIRST SNOW STORM OF THE SEASON WHEN I REACHED MY DESTINATION I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK OR REVERSE. THE ONLY THING I COULD DO IS DRIVE OR NEUTRAL. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT SNOW HAD GOTTEN LODGED IN THE DRIVE SHAFT THEREFORE NOT ALLOWING THE CAR TO BE SHIFTED. CHRYSLER TOLD ME THAT THIS PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN AND THAT IT WAS BECAUSE WE HAD HEAVY WET SNOW. THIS IS WISCONSIN!!! WE GET SNOW ALL OF THE TIME. THEY STATED THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO TO MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I AM GLAD THAT I WAS NOT IN A POSITION WHERE I NEEDED TO REVERSE THE VEHICLE OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN STUCK 55 MILES FROM HOME IN A SNOW STORM! *TR
LEASED 2012 DURANGO ON 12/28/11. AT 9353 MILES ON 12/7/12 THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM RUPTURED WHILE MAKING A TURN INTO A PARKING LOT. POWER STEERING FLUID COVERED ENGINE AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT. COMPLETE FAILURE OF ALL POWER STEERING, VEHICLE WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER TO A SAFE SPOT OUT OF TRAFFIC. VEHICLE HAD TO BE FLATBED TO DEALER. DODGE SERVICE STATED THAT A FITTING ON A HOSE HAD BROKEN OR FALLEN OFF. IT WAS REPAIRED. AT 21,922 MILES ON 1/09/13 ONCE AGAIN AS I PULLED OUT OF TRAFFIC INTO A SHOPPING CENTER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. COMPLETE FAILURE OF ALL POWER STEERING, FLATBED TO DODGE DEALER AND AM TOLD THAT ALL HOSES AND PUMP ASSEMBLY NEED TO BE REPLACED. I UNDERSTAND SOMETHING HAPPENING ONCE. TWICE IS A ISSUE. CONTACTED DODGE AND WAS TOLD THERE ARE NO OTHER REPORTS OF THIS. AFTER A LITTLE SEARCHING DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP SAID THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF SOMETHING LIKE THIS ON SOME 2012 JEEPS. *TR
THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED MODULAR ENGINE (TIME) HAS HAD MANY PROBLEMS SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE 2012 DODGE DURANGO. THE SUV HAS STOPPED DEAD WHILE IN DRIVE ON INTERSTATE 95. THE PANEL LIGHTS HAS ALL COME ON ALL AT ONCE WHILE DRIVING. THE ENGINE HAS STALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART SEVERAL TIMES LATE AT NIGHT. THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS HAS GONE OFF COMPLETELY AT NIGHT WITHOUT PANEL LIGHT NOTIFICATION. THE FOG LIGHTS WILL NOT WORK AT ALL TIMES. THE RADIO AT TIMES WILL NOT PAY. THE PUSH START BUTTON WILL NOT ALWAYS START THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE PERMITS A FOUL ORDER AT TIMES. THE ENGINE HAS GONE FROM AUTOMATIC TO MANUAL DRIVE WITHOUT PLACEMENT IN MANUAL. THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL NOT COME BACK AFTER BEING PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. THE MOTHER BOARD HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS SHUT DOWN - VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A RENTAL CAR 4 TIMES FOR AN APPROXIMATE TOTAL OF 30 DAYS TO TRY TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEMS. I HAVE 4 RECALLS FOR VARIOUS ISSUES AND NONE HAVE BEEN FIXED DUE TO PARTS ARE NOT READILY AVAILABLE. RECALL ID'S - APRIL 2014 SERVICE BRAKES AND BRAKES HYDRAULIC ANTI-LOCK #102663, #102664, #102298 AND JULY 2014 105085 - ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WIRING. THERE ARE SEVERAL CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AGAINST THE CHRYSLER GROUP, LLC FOR THE 2012 DODGE DURANGO. AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS WILL SHUT OFF UNPREDICTABLY AT NIGHT, REQUIRING THE DRIVER TO REACH DOWN AND TURN THE HEADLIGHTS ON MANUALLY. POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS AS IT IS A DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER EVEN IF HE KNOWS WHERE THE LIGHT SWITCH IS. VERY DANGEROUS IF YOU ARE DRIVING IN THE DARK AND DO NOT KNOW WHERE YOUR HEADLIGHT SWITCH IS. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 20 TIMES. *TR

SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS BRAND NEW ITS HAS HAD A VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND PULLS HARD TO THE RIGHT. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER MANY TIMES WITH NO SUCCESS. I FOUND THE ISSUE MYSELF ONCE I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR. BOTH FRONT STRUTS ARE BLOWN, SPRAYING OIL ONTO OTHER COMPONENTS, FRAME AND LEAKING ONTO THE FLOOR OF THE GARAGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AT APPROXIMATELY 3 TO 5 MPH AND PULLING INTO HER CARPORT, AS SHE WAS DEPRESSING THE BRAKES THEY DID NOT ENGAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED DUE TO A PENDING INVESTIGATION. PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND VEHICLE WENT INTO "LIMP MODE". WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BUT ALMOST GOT HIT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR THIS PROBLEM. *TR
2012 DODGE DURANGO, 5.7. HEMI, KEYLESS START, AUTO TRANSMISSION. SINCE VEHICLE WAS RELATIVELY NEW, WOULD OCCASIONALLY NOT START, STARTER WOULD ENGAGE, BUT TO IGNITION. WITHIN THE LAST 2 MONTHS HAS GOTTEN WORSE, NOW APPROXIMATELY 70% OF THE TIME, VEHICLE WILL NOT START USING THE PUSH TO START. IF LOCK THE VEHICLE AND USE REMOTE START FROM THE KEY FOB, WILL 95% OF TIME START. MUST THEN UNLOCK THE VEHICLE AND PRESS THE PUSH TO START BUTTON. SOMETIMES THE ENGINE WILL AT THIS POINT RUN ROUGH AND STALL. MUST THEN REPEAT THE PROCESS. RARELY THE KEY WILL NOT BE DETECTED WHILE IN THE VEHICLE. EITHER KEY FOB IS THE SAME AND THEY HAVE NEW CR2032 BATTERIES IN THEM. TIPM IS AT FAULT. VEHICLE NOW HAS APPROXIMATELY 57,000 MILES ON IT. *TR

SITTING IDLE ON A DRIVEWAY VEHICLE BEGAN TO SMOKE AND SMELL. PUNCHED GAS THREE TIMES AND EACH TIME HUGE WHITE BLUE CLOUD OF SMOKE PUSHED OUT. SMELL OF BURNING METAL CAME WITH CLOUD OF SMOKE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY AT FIRST COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM. AFTER PLACING THE VEHICLE ON AN INCLINE AND STARTING IT UP THEY TOO GOT THE SMOKE, AND NOT JUST FROM MINE BUT FROM ANOTHER ON THE LOT. THEY TELL ME THAT IT IS THE OIL PAN DESIGN IS FAULTY AND THAT MY VEHICLE WILL SMOKE WHEN ON AN INCLINE, DRIVEWAY, HILL, STUCK IN TRAFFIC AT A SLOPE. THE EMISSIONS ARE HORRENDOUS AND I AM SHOCKED THAT A 57 HEMI ENGINE WOULD DO THIS. SHOCKED MORE THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM AND HAS NOT YET FIXED IT. *JS
WHAT HAPPENS: INCONSISTENT AND INTERMITTENT TEMPORARY BRAKE/POWER FAILURE. BRAKE PEDAL TEMPORARILY BECOMES EXTREMELY HARD AND HIGH WITH ALMOST NO PEDAL MOVEMENT OR NO/MINIMAL PERCEIVED BRAKING. SUSTAINED MAXIMUM PEDAL PRESSURE (UP TO 5 SECONDS) AND THE BRAKES MAGICALLY RETURN. PEDAL DEPRESSED TO THE STOPS, IMMEDIATELY ENGAGING THE ABS AND MAXIMUM PANIC STOP. BRAKE PEDAL CAN MODULATED IF EXPERIENCING THE UNEXPECTED PANIC STOP. WHEN IT OCCURS OR CAUSES IT TO OCCUR: MORNING COMMUTING (HIGHWAY AND FREEWAY DRIVING): IMMEDIATELY APPLY THE BRAKE PEDAL AFTER 75%-100% ACCELERATION FROM 0-65 MPH ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP OR FROM FREEWAY STOP LIGHT. TRANSMISSION MUST SHIFT AT AROUND 60 MPH. FREEWAY DRIVING (IMMEDIATELY APPLYING THE BRAKE AFTER ANY OF THESE CONDITIONS) MERGING AND ACCELERATING INTO TRAFFIC, MAINTAINING STEADY SPEED UP LONG GRADES REQUIRING INCREASING PEDAL PRESSURE, SLOWLY ACCELERATING FROM 45-65 MPH SUCH THAT THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT DOWN, TRAILER TOWING: ANY LONG STEADY PULL MAINTAINING 40-60 MPH HIGHWAY SPEED WHILE IN HIGH GEAR. COLD MORNING 5-10 DEGREE F. TOOK 8-10 BLOCKS FOR THE BRAKE PEDAL TO BE NORMAL. STARTED OUT HIGH/HARD/ ALMOST NO BRAKES AND SLOWLY GOT BETTER THEN WORKED NORMALLY. DEALER RESULTS: DEALER REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER. DEALER CAN REPRODUCE RESULTS. STATES ALL TEST DIAGNOSTICS SHOW THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS WORKING AS EXPECTED AND DESIGNED. Engine light on, car was over a month for repair at Rairdon Dodge in Redmond, WA, paid over 5000 in repair, in the end they said can not be fixed needs a new engine. Engine light was on again after 49 miles , misfire cilinder 1, 3, 5 . And fuel pump again. Rairdon contacted Chrysler and nothing. Thanks

BRAND NEW VEHICLE LEASE. AT DEALERSHIP WHEN VEHICLE WAS PUT IN GEAR ENGINE STALLED 4 TIMES. SALESMAN ENTERED VEHICLE AND ACCELERATED ENGINE THEN PUT IN GEAR AND VEHICLE CONTINUED TO RUN AND STATED VEHICLE WAS OK. ABOUT 30 MILES AWAY WHEN COMING TO A STOP BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY 50MPH INTERSECTION AND WAS ALMOST STRUCK BY A ONCOMING TRACTOR TRAILER. AFTER LOCKING UP HIS BRAKES AN ACCIDENT WAS JUST BARELY AVOIDED. IT TOOK 4 TRIES TO GET THE DURANGO TO MOVE AGAIN WITHOUT SHUTTING OFF. VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALER NOW AND THEY DO NOT KNOW AS OF YET WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND REFUSE TO GIVE ME A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. MY FAMILY COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. *TR
