REAR GATE TAILLIGHT FILLED WITH WATER SHORTING OUT LIGHTS OVER $1000 TO FIX STUPID. *TR
VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. GOT INTO VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS UNATTENDED FOR SEVERAL HOURS OVER NIGHT. PASSENGER HEADREST WAS DEPLOYED. *TR
ON APRIL 26, 2020 THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT (AHR) ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY DEPLOYED WHILE IN OPERATION AT NORMAL CONDITIONS/SPEED LIMITS (30-35 MPH) ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET. NO ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES WERE INCURRED, HOWEVER THE HEAD REST HAS BEEN FULLY DETACHED AND IS NOW HANGING OPEN, REVEALING ALL EXPOSED MATERIALS INSIDE. PER THEDODGEDEALERSHIP AND MOPAR (EXTENDED WARRANTY SERVICES), REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED AND THERE WOULD BE OUT-OF-POCKET CHARGES FOR PARTS AND SERVICE UP TO $900. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH, THIS COSTLY SAFETY ISSUE IS BEING EXPERIENCED BY OTHERDODGEVEHICLE OWNERS SOME OF WHOM HAVE GOTTEN THE FCA TO COVER ASSOCIATED COSTS; AND THERE IS ALSO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN FL AS OF FEB. 2020. HOPEFULLY THIS DANGEROUS DEFECT AND AN UNREASONABLE SAFETY RISK IS GRANTED A RECALL TO REMEDY THE SITUATION SOON BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT. GETTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE HEAD REST POPED OUT. WHILE THE CAR WAS IN PARK AND NO ACCIDENT. NOW I AM SCARED THE DRIVERS HEADREST WILL DO THE SAME WHILE I AM DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE BRAKE LAMPS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THAT CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT WATER WAS INSIDE THE REAR BRAKE LAMPS CASING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FITZGERALD CHEVROLET OF HAGERSTOWN (101 S. EDGEWOOD DR, HAGERSTOWN, MD 21740, (301)733-5000) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 56,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
AFRTER 2 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP WITH 73000 MILES ON IT THIS SUV ITS TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING THIS IS THE 5TH TIME IT HAPPENDS WHILE IS OFF WIPERS MOVE BY IT SELFS DOORS AND ALARM OPEN AND CLOSES JUST LIKE ITS HAUNTED TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAY NITHING WRONG WITH IT IM AFRAID FOR MY LIFE AND MY KIDS I HAVE READ AND SEEN A LOT A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THUS ISSUE AND DODGE HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT IT !! TAIL LIGHT COLLECTS WATER WHILE IN MOTION ON ANY ROAD OR STATIONARY. LIGHTS SHORT OUT WHICH CAN BE HAZARDOUS WHEN DRIVING IN THE RAIN OR AT NIGHT. *TR
REAR TAILGATE LED LIGHT AND PLATE LIGHTS SHORTED OUT AND ARE NON FUNCTIONAL DUE TO WATER LEAKING INTO LIGHT ASSEMBLY FROM BAD SEALING PROCESS. *TR
REAR TRACK LIGHTS FILL WITH WATER. IT IS REALLY DIM AND THE ONLY WAY TO DRAIN IS TO UNSCREW THE BOLTS. AFRAID THAT EVENTUALLY THE WHOLE THING WILL BURN OUT.
MY REAL RACETRACK LIGHT SHUT DOWN BECAUSE OF THE WATER INSIDE OF IT. *TR
REAR TAIL LIGHT (RACETRACK LIGHT) WAS IMPROPERLY SEALED AND ALLOWS WATER RUNOFF TO COLLECT INSIDE BOTTOM PART OF RACETRACK LIGHTING. THIS CAUSES THE RACETRACK LIGHT TO BURNOUT AND EVENTUALLY STOP WORKING ENTIRELY. THIS IS A HAZARD THAT IF NOT FIXED AND TAIL LIGHTS GO OUT WHILE DRIVING, COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND SERIOUSLY INJURE PEOPLE. THIS IS THE MOST COMMON AND WORST ISSUE WITH NEWER DURANGO'S AND BECAUSE OF POOR DESIGN UNKNOWN TO PURCHASER, SHOULD NOT COME OUT OF POCKET. MOST DEALERSHIPS ARE CHARGING ANYWHERES FROM $1000-$1300 TO FIX. A GOOGLE SEARCH WILL SHOW THIS ISSUE WITH NEARLY EVERY DURANGO WITH 'RACETRACK' LIGHTING AND SHOULD BE FIXED BEFORE IT CAUSES ACCIDENTS IF IT HASN'T ALREADY. PLEASE HELP US! *TR
DODGE DURANGO WATER IN TAILLIGHTS CAUSES WATERLOG IN THE LED LIGHTING AREA AND NOT DRAINING LED OUT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF VEHICLE. REPLACING ITEM COST AROUND $1085.00 AND UP MANUFACTURING DESIGN DEFECT. VEHICLE HAS 31954 MILES ON IT.
HEAD REST RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING PASSENGER SEAT.*DT *JS
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY STALLED/DIED, THOUGH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/ELECTRONICS STAYED ON. I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE, BUT THE ENGINE WOULDN'T TURN OVER. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CYCLED THROUGH RANDOM ERROR MESSAGES "VEHICLE PHONE REQUIRES SERVICE, SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM, OIL PRESSURE LOW, SERVICE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL". DODGE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE, AND SENT ME HOME. ON 4/4/2020, AND 6/626/2020 THE ENGINE WOULDN'T TURN OVER DESPITE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TURNING ON. ON 4/15/2020 THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE BATTERY WAS DEFECTIVE AND CHARGED ME TO REPLACE IT, BUT THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. ON 5/1/2020 THE TRUNK RANDOMLY OPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF AND IN MY DRIVEWAY, IT WAS RAINING. ON 5/27/2020, WHILE DRIVING IN A STORM, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SAID "SERVICE ELECTRONIC BRAKES, BRAKE FLUID LOW" AND THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON AND OFF. THE ERRORS NEVER SHOWED UP AGAIN AFTER THE VEHICLE DRIED OFF. ON 6/26/2020, A DAY AFTER A THUNDERSTORM, THE ENGINE WOULDN'T TURN OVER EVEN THOUGH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CAME ON. THE IGNITION WAS STUCK IN "RUN", AND THE P/R/N/D LIGHTS WERE ALL ON, AND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SAID "SERVICE TRANSMISSION CONTINUE IN D DO NOT SHIFT OR TURN ENGINE OFF"; BUT THE ENGINE WAS OFF. WATER HAS GOTTEN INTO THE TAILLIGHT WHICH CAUSES THE LED LIGHTS TO SHORT OUT.
I HAVE ALREADY WENT THROUGH 3 REAR TRACKLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE (IT IS THE LARGE TAILLAP ON THE BACK OF THE CAR) THE MOST RECENT PHOTO SHOWS A LOT OF WATER IN IT.
LIFTGATE RACE TRACK LIGHTING FILLS WITH WATER. ONE PORTION OF THE LED WENT OUT, NOW THE ENTIRE LIGHT IS BURNED OUT.
WATER HAS COLLECTED IN REAR TAILGATE LIGHTS WHICH HAS CAUSED LIGHTS TO MALFUNCTION INCLUDING LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS.
THE REAR CENTER LIFT GATE RACETRACK LIGHT (LOWER RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE) IS DIM AND FLICKERS ON AND OFF LIKE IF I WERE APPLYING THE BRAKES. THIS IS BOTH WHEN IN MOTION AND STATIONARY. I BELIEVE WATER OR MOISTURE ACCUMULATES IN THAT AREA. I BELIEVE IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD AND COULD CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL TAILLIGHT FAILURE CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. MY VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YRS OLD AND SHOULDN'T BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I SEE A LOT OF 2015 MODELS WITH THAT EXACT SAME PROBLEM AND FEEL THAT DODGE HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO ITS COSTUMERS IN FIXING THIS. 2015 DURANGO RT/AWD - WATER POOLS IN THE CENTER TAIL LAMP LED AND SHORTS IT OUT, MAKING NOT ONLY THE "RACE TRACK" PORTION OF THE LED LIGHTING FAIL, BUT THE TAG LIGHTING ALSO, TICKET ISSUED FROM HIGHWAY PATROL. REPLACEMENT MODULE IS $700+ THIS IS A WELL KNOW AND COMMON OCCURRENCE
THE REAR DECK LID TAIL LIGHTS FILL WITH WATER EVENTUALLY SHORTING OUT THE LIGHTS AND IMPACTING THE ABILITY FOR OTHER DRIVERS TO SEE THE VEHICLE FROM THE REAR. OVER TIME THIS MAY LEAD TO OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AS IT IS NEVER GOOD TO HAVE WATER ACCUMULATING IN THE TAIL LIGHTS. THE BACKUP CAMERA IS ALSO SHARED IN THIS COMPONENT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE THAT FCA DODGE APPEARS TO BE IGNORING. THE ONLY SOLUTION OFFERED IS TO REPLACE THE COMPONENT WITH ANOTHER WHICH INCLUDES THE BACKUP CAMERA FOR $1000.
EXTERIOR TAIL LIGHTS AND BAR COLLECT WATER WHICH BURNS OUT THE LEDS. NO WAY TO REPLACE INDIVIDUAL LED NEED TO REPLACE THE BAR WHICH IS OVER $1000.00. IS A NIGHT TIME HAZARD SINCE THE LIGHTS ARE BURNT OUT AND PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE. STARTED AS SMALL BLACK SPOT IN BOTTOM CORNER AND IS NOW SPREADING. SPOKE TO DODGE AND IT'S NOT COVERED! STARTED WHEN CAR HAD LESS THEN 40K MILES ON IT.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITHOUT WARNING MULTIPLE ERROR MESSAGES WERE DISPLAYED FOLLOWED BY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SHUTTING OFF COMPLETELY. WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED WITHOUT COMMAND. TURN SIGNALS AND LIGHTS WOULD NOT WORK. FUNCTIONS SLOWLY STARTED TO RETURN HOWEVER TRACTION CONTROL REMAINED DISABLED.
WATER GETTING INTO THE 'RACETRACK' PORTION OF THE REAR TAIL LIGHTS CAUSING MALFUNCTION INCLUDING MELTING AND SNORTING OUT WIRES.
WATER ACCUMULATION IN TAIL GAIT LIGHT CAUSING THE LED LIGHT TO GO OFF. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE LIGHT.
MY VEHICLE IS UNSTABLE WHEN I DRIVE AT ANY DISTANCE OR SPEED ON THE ROAD. I HAD A RECALL FOR THE CALIPERS BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE ISSUE WAS FIXED. I BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS AFTER THE RECALL WAS CORRECTED. I NOTICE THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD PULL TO THE RIGHT SIDE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GET AN ALIGNMENT BUT THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE IS ALSO EXPERIENCING WOBBLING IN THE REAR. I ALSO NOTICE THAT WHEN I AM MAKING TURNS OR LANE CHANGES, THE VEHICLE WILL STILL PULL TO THE RIGHT SIDE. WHEN MAKING STOPS AT THE LIGHT OR STOP SIGNS, THE VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT. THE BRAKES AND ROTORS HAVE BEEN CHANGE RECENTLY AND A NEW ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED BUT THE CAR STILL HAS THE SAME ISSUE.
VEHICLE WILL TURN OVER BUT WILL NOT START. DEALER CLAIMS BATTERY ISSUE, BUT MOST INDIVIDUALS DISCOVERED THAT IT IS A FUEL PUMP RELAY ISSUE. 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH SAME VEHICLE.
WATER HAS INFILTRATED THE REAR LIFTGATE RACETRACK LED LIGHT ON 2015 DODGE DURANGO. PORTION OF THE LIGHT IS OUT. MUCH INFORMATION HAS BEEN POSTED ABOUT THIS AS A DESIGN FLAW WITH DODGE. EVENTUALLY THE ENTIRE LIGHT FAILS AS WELL AS THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT AND BECOMES A SAFETY ISSUE WHILE OPERATING AT DUSK OR NIGHT AS REAR OF VEHICLE IS NOT ILLUMINATED. DODGE SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL TO HAVE THIS REPLACED AND SEALED TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING FURTHER. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED. TO REPAIR, OWNER IS RESPONSIBLE TO HAVE LIGHT REPLACED AT AN EXUBERANT COST. I BELIEVE DODGE SHOULD REPAIR AT NO COST AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
REAR TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY ON THE DODGE DURANGO HAS SERIOUS ISSUES AT A COSTLY PRICE. THE LEFT SIDE OF OUR TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS COLLECTED WATER AND HAS SHORT CIRCUITED THE LOWER LEFT PORTION OF THE LIGHTING. YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE WATER POOLED UP IN THE LENS. I HAVE TWO NEIGHBORS THAT HAVE HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE RECENTLY. ANOTHER NEIGHBOR WAS TOLD HE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY ($1K+) JUST BECAUSE HIS LEFT LICENSE PLATE LIGHT HAS GONE OUT. I GUESS IT IS POWERED FROM THE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY WIRING HARNESS. I HAVE ACTUALLY REPLACED THAT LEFT REAR LICENSE PLATE LIGHT 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 18 MONTHS. NOT CHEAP IS $50 EACH.

LIGHT ASSEMBLY ON REAR HATCH DOES NOT SEAL PROPERLY ALLOWING FOR WATER TO PENETRATE AND RETAIN IN LIGHT HOUSING, CAUSING TURN SIGNALS TO SHORT AND FAIL.

2015 DURANGO SXT - WATER POOLS IN THE CENTER TAIL LAMP LED AND SHORTS IT OUT, MAKING IT FAIL. REPLACEMENT IS $700+ DUE TO DEMAND. THIS IS A WELL KNOW AND COMMON OCCURRENCE
THE VEHICLE BACK UP CAMERA GOES OUT AND THEN THE ENTIRE RADIO SCREEN GOES OUT AND DOES NOT COME UP FOR DAYS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE AND THE SCREEN GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING.
REAR HATCH LIGHT FILLS WITH WATER AND THE LIGHT STOPS WORKING. ONLY FIX IS TO REPLACE THE VERY EXPENSIVE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. SAFETY ISSUE AS REAR LIGHT STOPS FUNCTIONING.
ON THIRD GENERATION DODGE DURANGO'S (2014-2020), WATER AND MOISTURE CAN GET INSIDE THE RACETRACK LIGHT ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING THE LIGHT TO STOP WORKING IN MULTIPLE PLACES, AND IN COLDER CLIMATE, CAN CAUSE THE MOISTURE TO FREEZE AND THE LIGHT TO CRACK. WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING AT NIGHT, THE RACETRACK LIGHT IS THE ONLY LIGHT THAT IS CONSTANTLY ON. WITH WATER AND MOISTURE CAUSING THE LIGHT TO DISCONTINUE OPERATION, AS WELL CAUSE OTHER ELECTRICAL/LIGHTING ISSUES, IT COULD BECOME A VERY SERIOUS DRIVING HAZARD. WATER IS CURRENTLY INSIDE THE LIGHT ON MY VEHICLE, AND FROZEN SOLID, CAUSING THE LIGHT TO MALFUNCTION. ATTACHED PICTURE WILL SHOW EVIDENCE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN LIGHT STARTED MALFUNCTIONING. VEHICLE HAD NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. LIGHT HAS NEVER BEEN REMOVED FROM VEHICLE.
THE TAIL LIGHT ON THE HATCH COLLECTED WATER AND NOW IT BURNT OUT
WATER IS FILLING INSIDE THE REAR TRACKLIGHT AND TAILLIGHT.
THE TAILGATE LIGHT GETS FILLED UP WITH WATER CREATING A SHORT AND BURNING OUR LED LIGHTS IN THE TAIL LIGHT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP CHARGES OVER $1000 FOR THE LIGHT AND THE TIME SPEND REPLACING IT. FCU SHOULD PAY FOR THE FAULTY DESIGN AND REPLACE ALL THE TAILGATE LIGHTS FOR FREE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DECELRATING AT 15 MPH TO PARK THE VEHICLE IN A PARKING LOT, THE BRAKES SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FRONT BUMPER OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V332000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY STARTED A CLAIM FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 184,000. *TR*DT*JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER LEAKED THROUGH A HOLE INTO THE TAIL LIGHTS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. AS A RESULT, THE LIGHTS SHORT OUT. THE DEALER LICCARDI CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (130 US-22, GREEN BROOK TOWNSHIP, NJ 08812 (732) 752-7373) STATED THAT SINCE THE 33,000 MILE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO COVER THE REPAIRS. THE WHOLE TRACK LIGHT UNIT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT A COST $2,500. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED THE CONTACT A COMPLAINT NUMBER AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
THE HEAD REST TO THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT EJECTED. IT'S CUSHION IS BROKEN APART FROM WHAT HOLDS THE COMPONENT. WHILE ON PARK AND THE SEAT WAS EMPTY.
REAR TAIL GETS WATER DAMAGE CAUSING LED TO GO DARK
PASSENGER HEAD REST WAS DEPLOYED OVERNIGHT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED.
PASSENGER SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST ADVANCED WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. SOLENOID DID NOT RELEASE BUT THE PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE "PIN" BROKE ALLOWING ADVANCE. SEAT WAS EMPTY, NO INJURIES.
DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY. HEADREST FASTENER WAS DAMAGED IN THE PROCESS MAKING THE FASTENER UNREPAIRABLE. DEALER STATES THERE IS NO CURRENT OPEN RECALL ON THIS ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE ONLINE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE $700 TO REPLACE. THE INVOICE SAYS THEY " INSPECTED THE HEADREST. CAN NOT BE RESET. TABS IN BACK ARE BROKEN. WILL REQUIRE NEW HEADREST." WHEN WE LOOKED AT WHAT HELD THE HEADREST TOGETHER, WE SAW TWO TINY PLASTIC PIECES HOLDING IT TOGETHER THAT BROKE. WE WERE JUST DRIVING ALONG AND IT DEPLOYED.
