THE LIFTGATE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY ALLOWS WATER TO SEEP INSIDE, POOLING IN THE LIGHTING ASSEMBLY. THIS LED TO THE REAR LIGHTS SHORTING OUT AND FAILING COMPLETELY. AFTER RESEARCHING, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT DODGE CONTINUES TO IGNORE; ONLY OFFERING TO INSTALL A NEW ASSEMBLY FOR THE BARGAIN PRICE OF $1200-1600 SO THAT I WILL BE VISIBLE FROM THE REAR TO OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROADWAY.
EXTERIOR TAIL LIGHT'S INTERIOR GETS FLOODED WITH WATER EVERY TIME IT RAINS. THERE IS NOTHING ABNORMAL ABOUT MY VEHICLE, THIS IS THE SECOND DODGE DURANGO I HAVE OWNED (2015+) WITH THE SAME EXACT ISSUE.
THE LED BACK TAIL LIGHTS ARE NOT PROPERLY SEALED, SO WATER CAN LEAK INTO THEM AND SHORT OUT THE LIGHTS, AND CAUSE ELECTRICAL SHORTAGE.HAVE TRIED TO WORK WITH THE DEALERSHIP, AND THE CHRYSLER CORP., BUT SINCE THE VEHICLE IS A 2015 MODEL IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I FEEL THIS WAS A BAD SEAL RIGHT OUT OF THE FACTORY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING 90 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLED FUEL FUMES ENTERING THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM SPRING (LOCATED AT 21027 I-45, SPRING, TX 77388, (281) 715-6927), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
PASSENGER HEADREST CAME APART. A PIECE BROKE INSIDE AND CAUSED THE HEADREST TO SEPARATE. VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING AT THE TIME OF SEPARATION, IT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY.
WATER IS POOLING IN MY TRACK LIGHTING. I HAVE TO TAKE THE BOLTS OUT TO EMPTY IT. NOW THE LIGHTS ARE FAILING!!! *TR
MY REAR LED LIGHT BAR IS OUT. I LOOKED AND THERE IS WATER INSIDE OF THE LIGHT BAR. THERE ARE GAPS ALL AROUND THE LIGHT BAR WHICH IS HOW THE WATER IS GETTING IN. WARRANTY IS TRYING TO DENY COVERAGE. THIS HAS TO BE A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. THERE IS A LOT OF PROPER WITH THE SAME ISSUE THAT I AM HAVING.
WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE REAR CLUNKING NOISE ON DRIVER SIDE IS PRESENT OVER SMALL OR MODERATE BUMPS. NOISE IS BECOMING WORSE OVER TIME AND DEALER HAS NO EXPLANATION. SOUND IS BECOMING MORE CONCERNING AND WORRIED ABOUT MY SAFETY IN THE VEHICLE
NOTED REOCCURRING PROBLEM WITH LIFTGATE TAIL LIGHT. LIFTGATE TAILLIGHT WILL ALL EAT WATER INTO THE LIGHT ITSELF AND THEREFORE BURNED OUT. PROBLEM OCCURS ON BOTH SIDES AS WELL. PICTURE ONLY SHOWS ONE SIDE.
THE ACTIVE HEADREST SYSTEM ON THE PASSENGER SEAT OF MY 2015 DODGE DURANGO CITADEL DEPLOYED RANDOMLY, NOT ASSOCIATED WITH ANY ACCIDENT. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND NOT RUNNING AT TIME OF DEPLOYMENT. APPEARS THAT A PLASTIC BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE HEADREST IN PLACE IS BROKEN, SO RESET IS NOT POSSIBLE. THIS APPEARS TO BE A MALFUNCTION OF THE SYSTEM.
PASSENGER HEAD RESTRAINTS DEPLOYED WHILE CAR WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY
MY LEFT TURN SIGNAL WENT OUT, SO I REPLACED BOTH MY LEFT AND RIGHT TURN SIGNALS. MY VEHICLE NOW REGISTERS THAT MY RIGHT TURN SIGNAL IS OUT CONSTANTLY, EVEN THOUGH IT IS OPERATING PROPERLY AND MY LEFT TURN SIGNAL DOES THE SAME PERIODICALLY. SINCE MY PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE, I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE NAVIGATION NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE RADIO DISPLAY ITSELF HAS A MIND OF IT'S OWN, THIS IS HOW YOU OPERATE MOST OF THE VEHICLES CLIMATE FUNCTIONS, BACK UP CAMERA, NAVIGATION AND RADIO. WHEN THE VEHICLE COMES ON, IT IS SUPPOSED TO TURN ON. HOWEVER MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, IT CHOOSES TO BE OFF, AND I HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT TO DECIDE TO TURN ON. IF I DO NOT HAVE THE A/C KNOW TURNED OFF WHEN IT DOES THIS, BOTH MY FRONT AND REAR DEFROSTERS WILL TURN ON FULL BLAST UNTIL THE DISPLAY CHOOSES TO OPERATE PROPERLY. I HAVE HAD THIS SYSTEM UPDATED WITH A USB DRIVE AT A DEALERSHIP AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED. OVERTLY, I AM NOT AT ALL SATISFIED WITH HOW THESE ELECTRICAL ISSUES CONTINUE AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NO RESOLVE.
GAS CONTINUES TO PUMP AFTER THE TANK IS FULL AND SPILL OUT AND ALL DOWN THE SIDE OF THE DURANGO UNTIL I SHUT IT OFF. THE HANDLES DOESN'T ALWAYS CLICK OFF ON ITS OWN. SERVICE AIR BAG SENSOR KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF. DEALER DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT EITHER PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON A CITY STREET JUST EXITING A ROUNDABOUT GOING NO MORE THAN 15 MILES PER HOUR AND MY HEADREST EXPLODED FORWARD HITTING ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. IT WAS QUITE JARRING. IT FELT LIKE SOMETHING HEAVY AS IN MY BACK SEAT AND SHOT FORWARD HITTING MY DRIVERS SEAT. THERE WERE NO CARS AROUND ME, AND NOTHING HIT MY CAR.
REAR TAIL PANEL OF LED STRIPS IS OUT AT ALL TIMES, CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN. STARTED WITH LOWER RIGHT SIDE OF RIBBON LIGHT OUT, NOW THE ENTIRE STRIP IS OUT, INCLUDING THE REQUIRED TAG LIGHTS. STARTED WHEN I ONLY HAD ABOUT 60K MILES ON IT. CONTACTED DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATE THEY'RE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT IT WILL COST AT LEAST 1K JUST FOR THE PART, NOT INCLUDING LABOR.
WHENEVER I PUMP GAS RECENTLY THE GAS PUMP NEVER SHUTS OFF AND JUST SPILLS GAS EVERYWHERE UNTIL I CLICK THE HANDLE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY NEVER HEARD OF THAT. I WENT AHEAD AND HAD THEM CHECK IT OUT. ABOUT $2000 LATER AND A NEW GAS TANK AND FUEL FILLER NECK THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. HOW THIS WAS NEVER RECALLED I DON'T KNOW. I HAD GAS POURING OUT EVERYWHERE BEFORE IT WAS FIXED!
MY WIFE PUT HER 2015 DURANGO INTO PARK AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. SHE WAS STANDING AT MY PASSENGER WINDOW SPEAKING TO ME WHEN HER CAR SUDDENLY ROLLED TOWARD HER. THE DURANGO PINNED HER BETWEEN IT AND MY VEHICLE FROM THE CHEST DOWN.*DT*JB *DT*JB *DT *TR
DRIVING AT NIGHT, CAR PASSES ME AND AGGRESSIVELY HONKED/POINTED BEHIND ME. PULLED OVER AND NOTICED MY REAR LIGHTS WERE COMPLETELY OUT. MESSED WITH THE LIGHT SWITCH TO SEE IF IT MADE A DIFFERENCE, IT DID NOT. NEXT DAY I SEE WATER POOLED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TAILGATE LIGHTING ASSEMBLY. DID RESEARCH AND LEARNED TO REMOVE BOLTS TO DRAIN WATER FROM THE ASSEMBLY. SOME FUNCTIONALITY RETURNED BUT RIGHT LOWER SIDE REMAINS OUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE DRIVER'S HEADREST AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,425.
THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINTS (AHR) ON THE DRIVER SIDE DEPLOYED DURING DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITHIN LEGAL SPEED LIMITS WITHOUT ANY REASON, I.E. NOT ACCIDENT OR IMPACT FROM ANY SIDE TO THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY THE DRIVER WAS NOT HURT DUE TO DISTANCE TO THE HEAD REST AT THAT VERY MOMENT. THE SNAPPING LUCKILY ALSO DID NOT CAUSE TOO MUCH DISTRACTION. THE HEAD REST IS NOW DESTROYED, I.E. SPLIT IN HALF AND DANGLING DUE TO THE PLASTIC FIXTURES HOLDING THE TWO HALVES TOGETHER ON THE TOP BEING BROKEN. THE INCIDENT HAPPENED ALREADY IN SEPTEMBER 2019. UNTIL NOW I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE ISSUE. ONLY AFTER TRYING TO BUY A REPLACEMENT PART, I BECAME AWARE OF THIS BEING A MORE FREQUENT ISSUE WITH DODGE (FCA) OWNERS. WHEN RE-EXAMINING THE HEAD REST I REALIZED THAT THE SPRINGS MUST HAVE HAD DEPLOYED TO CAUSE THAT KIND OF VISIBLE DESTRUCTION. AT THE LAST SERVICE THE DEALERSHIP FIRST DID NOT REALLY NOTICE THIS ISSUE DESPITE PERFORMING A FULL CHECK. WHEN TELLING THEM TO FIX IT, THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE IT FREE OF CHARGE. THEY CLAIMED THAT FCA IS NOT RECOGNIZING THIS TO BE A SAFETY/FIELD ISSUE. SO NOW I REALIZE THAT THERE IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE HEAD REST AND WE WERE JUST LUCKY NOT TO BE HURT BY THE ACTIVE HEAD REST DEPLOYING. BUT NOW WE ARE ALSO LEFT WITH 500 US$ REPAIRS.*DT*JB
REAR LIFT GATE TAIL LIGHT. WATER ENTERS THE LIGHTING ASSEMBLY WHICH CAUSES THE LED LIGHT TO STOP WORKING.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN OUR GARAGE. WIFE WENT TO GET INTO PASSENGER SIDE SEAT AND HEADREST EXPLODED. *TR
CAR WILL TRY TO START BUT WON'T TURN ALL THE WAY OVER. IT DOES IT INTERMITTENTLY. I'VE TAKEN IT TO MARK DODGE AND 2 OTHER AUTO SHOPS AND NO ONE CAN FIND THE ISSUE. IT HAS DONE IT OVER 15 TIMES NOW
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, I HEARD A NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE HIT MY HEADREST WITH A BAT. AT THE SAME TIME, MY HEAD WAS THROWN FORWARD, BRIEFLY CAUSING ME TO TAKE MY EYES OFF THE ROAD AND SWERVE SLIGHTLY WITHIN MY LANE.. I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, ON A HEAVILY TRAVELED STATE ROAD, ALONE IN MY CAR. I WASN'T ABLE TO PULL OVER RIGHT AWAY. ONCE I COULD SAFELY PULL OVER, I NOTICED MY DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DID NOT LOOK LIKE MY PASSENGER SIDE. IT WAS SEPARATED AND PUSHED FORWARD INTO MY SEAT SPACE. THERE WERE ALSO LOOSE PLASTIC PIECES INSIDE. I HAD NECK PAIN FOR APPROXIMATELY 4 DAYS FOLLOWING.*DT CONTACT DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL HELP. VEHICLE WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST AND IS NOT FIXED.*JB
THE TAILGATE LIGHT ON THE LIFT GATE COLLECTS WATER WHEN IT RAINS OR IS BEING WASHED. I NEED TO LIFT THE GATE TO LET THE EXCESS WATER DRIPS OUT. THE LIGHT IS DISCOLORED IN THE LOWER LEFT AND LOWER RIGHT SIDE.
WATER GOT INTO THE LED HOUSING ON THE TAILGATE AND ALL LIGHTS ON TAILGATE THEN WENT OUT CAUSING AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR I NOW NEED. I WENT TO MILFORD (PA) DODGE DEALERSHIP WHEN I FIRST NOTICED WATER POOLING IN THE LIGHT. ( NOT EVEN 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE) AND THEY TOLD ME THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO FIX IT. AND THE CPO THEY GAVE ME WON'T COVER THE REPAIR. THIS VEHICLE HAD 18K ON IT WHEN I FIRST NOTICED THE WATER!!! THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AS IT IS A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT WITH THESE TRUCKS AND DODGE IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT! NEARLY EVERY DURANGO I SEE HAS AN LED OUT DUE TO THIS.
THE "RACETRACK" TAILLIGHT SYSTEM HAS A SYSTEMIC ISSUE WITH WATER INFILTRATING THE ENCLOSED SEALED LED TAILLIGHT SYSTEM. THIS CAUSED PORTIONS OF THE TAILLIGHTS TO BURN OUT AND CAUSE LOWER VISIBILITY THAN INTENDED. WARRANTY COMPANIES CONSIDER THIS A "SERVICEABLE" PART LIKE NORMAL BULBS, BRAKES, TIRES, ETC. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THIS "SERVICEABLE" PART IS AN ALL ENCLOSED UNIT AND NOT A SIMPLE BULB REPLACEMENT. YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE PANEL AT A COST OF NEARLY $1000!!! OR JUST DRIVE WITH THE LIMITED SAFETY OF A FULLY FUNCTIONING TAILLIGHT SYSTEM. THIS SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE AND ONCE ONE SECTION GOES OUT THE REST USUALLY FOLLOW. THIS DESIGN FLAW SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED A SERVICEABLE PART AND FC SHOULD BE MADE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM AND FIX THIS ISSUE AT THEIR EXPENSE.
REAR TAILLIGHT/BACKUP LIGHT ASSEMBLY ALLOWED WATER PENETRATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY SHORTED OUT SOME OF THE LED BULBS INSIDE THE ASSEMBLY. REAR LIGHTING AT NIGHT IS IMPAIRED AND MAKES VEHICLE LESS LIKELY TO BE SEEN AT A DISTANCE AT NIGHT. ASSEMBLY INCLUDES THE BACKUP CAMERA AND IS ONLY REPLACEABLE AS THE ENTIRE LIGHTING/CAMERA UNIT. DEALER HAS INDICATED THAT THE UNIT IS NOT REPAIRABLE AND IT IS NOT BEING REPLACED BY FICA. CONTINUED WATER PENETRATION COULD ALSO SHORT OUT THE BACKUP CAMERA AND MAKING IT IN VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW.
TAILLIGHTS FILL WITH MOISTURE CAUSING BULBS TO BURNOUT & CREATE HAZARD WHEN BRAKING. SEALS TO KEEP MOISTURE OUT NEED TO BE REPLACED OR UPDATED
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, THE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE MY SON WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT. HE WAS NOT DOING ANYTHING OTHER THAN SITTING THERE. THE SOUND ABOUT MADE ME GET IN AN ACCIDENT.
CHRONIC INTERMITTANT PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSION FAILING TO GO IN CORRECT GEAR. WHEN GOING FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR REVERSE THE VEHICLE STAYS IN THE LAST GEAR. I HAVE HAD TO TURN OFF VEHICLE AND WAIT 15 SECONDS TO RESET POWER TRAIN MODULE. WHILE DRIVING THE GEAR KNOB LIGHT STARTS FLASHING. THE VEHICLE WAS SHOWING DRIVE BUT IT WAS STILL IN REVERSE AND WENT BACKWARDS. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES TO HAVE THE POWER TRAIN MODULE TO BE RE-PROGRAMED. THE POWER TRAIN MODULE HAS SUBJECT TO RECALL AT LEAST TWICE!
BACKUP LAMP ASSEMBLY PART NUMBER 68155950AJ HAS WATER INSIDE IF IT. DODGE CLAIMS ITS A "LIGHT" AND WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE. ITS A $700.00 LIGHT. MANY DIFFERENT WEB SITES HAVE THE SAME FRUSTRATED CUSTOMERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE.SEAL GOES BAD AND WATER GETS IN, LOTS OF WATER.
FIRST MY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. REPLACED THE BULB AN IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. IT NOT THE FUSE OR CONNECTOR EITHER. THEN MY PASSAGER SIDE TAILLIGHT AN MY LIFT GATE LIGHT DO NOT WORK. BOUGHT NEW TAILLIGHT AN PLUGGED IT IN AN STILL NOT WORKING. IT'S NOT THE FUSE OR CONNECTOR SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.
DRIVER'S ACTIVE HEADREST POPPED WHILE DRIVING DOWN A SMOOTH, PAVED ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. THE LOUD NOISE AND JOLTING OF THE SEAT ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
WATER IS COLLECTING INSIDE OF THE TAIL-GATE LIGHTS ASSEMBLY CAUSING IT'S COMPLETE FAILURE - NO LIGHTS MOUNTED ON THE TAILGATE ARE WORKING.
PROBLEM WITH FRONT TURN SIGNAL MESSAGE NOT WORKING, CHANGED BULBS BUT STILL GETTING THE MESSAGE THIS IS AN ISSUE NOT KNOWING IF TURN SIGNALS ARE WORKING
THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WITHOUT CAUSE. THERE WAS NO SUDDEN BRAKING OR BUMP IN ROAD TO CAUSE THE HEAD RESTRAINT TO BELIEVE THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT. THANKFULLY THERE WAS NO ONE IN SEAT, OR COULD HAVE CAUSED INJURY. POSSIBLE ACCIDENT CAN HAPPEN IF WERE TO HAPPEN TO DRIVER'S SIDE.
PLEASE SERVICE AIRBAG NOTIFICATION AND WARNING INDICATOR WILL COME AT START OF VEHICLES.
EVAP SYSTEM IS SHOWING LEAK AND I HAVE NOTICED OTHER RECALLS OVER THE YEARS FOR THIS SAME INCIDENT BUT NOT YET FOR YEAR 2015. SHOWING LOSE CHARCOAL IN SYSTEM IS WHAT THEY OTHER RECALL SHOW. THIS HAPPENED PRIOR TO 100,000 MILES AND DODGE STATED IT WAS NOT COVERED BY POWER TRAIN WARRANTY.
WATER INFILTRATION INTO RACEWAY REAR LIGHT-LED SHORTED OUT AND NO LONGER WORKS. NOT SURE WHEN OR HOW IT ENTERED.
REAR RACETRACK TYPE TAIL LIGHT HAS WATER IN IT AND ONLY WORKS PERIODICALLY
THE TAILGATE LIGHTING IS TAKING IN WATER, BECAUSE IT HAS FILLED WITH WATER MY LED LIGHTS HAVE GONE OUT ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT PORTION OF THE STRIP. WHEN I TOOK MY DURANGO TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO FIX 2 RECALLS I ASKED IF THIS WAS A PROBLEM THEY SAW A LOT, THEY SAID THAT IT IS A PROBLEM THAT GETS BROUGHT TO THEM PRETTY OFTEN.
IAM TIERD OF GOING TO THE DEALER ENGINE TICKING , CALIPERS FRONT MAKING NOISE , EXPERIENCED BUCKING , HESITATION DURING ACCELERATION, BACK OF TRUCK MAKING NOISE WEN BACKING OUT OF DRIVE WAY , AC UNIT EVAPORATOR GONE BAD , CAM SHAFT AND ROCKETS WENT , I ONLY HAVE 40 THOUSAND MILES ON IT , AND I BABY THE TRUCK .. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS MODEL???? EVERY TIME I GOT IT THE DEALER SOMETHING ELSE GOES BAD...THE VEHICLE HAS TROUBLE ADJUSTING TO BAROMETER CHANGES , SUN ROOF LEAKED WATER TWICE DURING A STORM INTO MY SUNGLASSES HOLDER.. CALIPERS SQUEAK AND PIN STUCK LEFT FRONT CALIPER , SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE I CAN'T KEEP GOINTO THE DEALER PLEASE IS THIS TRUCK A LEMON?
SEAL ON THE CENTER TAIL LIGHT 'RACETRACK LIGHTING' IS INEFFECTIVE. THE LIGHT FILLS UP WITH WATER, DOES NOT DRAIN, AND STOPS FUNCTIONING. DEALER IS AWARE OF IT BEING A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT IS STILL CHARGING OVER $1,200 TO REPAIR.

THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER EVAPORATOR CORE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF THE FAILURE OCCURING IN THE EXTREMELY HOT WEATHER CONDITIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,201.
THE REAR HATCH LIGHT ASSEMBY HAS A LEAK AND HOLDS WATER. TOOK TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS WAS TOLD LED LIGHTS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS NOT A DEFECT IN LED LIGHTS, ITS A DEFECT IN THE ASSEMBLY WHICH IS CAUSING LED LIGHTS TO MALFUNCTION, WHICH IS A DANGER TO MYSELF AND OTHERS AS IF THE LIGHTS GO OUT DUE TO THE DEFECT I WILL HAVE NO BACK LIGHTS WHICH COULD CAUSE A VEHICLE BEHIND ME TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE MY VEHICLE IN TIME TO STOP CAUSING A REAREND COLLISION. THIS IS DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURING, WHICH COULD ALSO CAUSE A SHORT IN THE VEHICLE WHICH COULD CAUSE A FIRE. IT IS NOT CONDENSATION OR MOISTURE AS EVERYTIME IT RAINS OR ITS WASHED THE ASSEMBLY FILLS WITH WATER. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO MYSELF AS WELL AS OTHERS.
I NOTICED THAT THERE IS A CRACK OR OPENING IN THE RACE TRACK LIGHT OF THE DODGE DURANGO TRUCKS FROM 2015 AND ABOVE. I HAVE A DODGE DURANGO LIKE MY WIFE, MY NEIGHBOR, AND MY MOTHERS NEIGHBOR. ALL OF US HAVE AN OPENING AT THE TOP OF OUR RACETRACK LIGHTS WHERE THE LIGHT IS NOT COMPLETELY SEAL AND THE OPENING IS ENOUGH TO ALLOW WATER TO GET IN AND SETTLE INTO THE LIGHT. THIS IS AN ISSUE AS IT CAN CAUSE A SHORTAGE IN THE RACE TRACK LIGHT. FOR MYSELF IT HAS ALREADY ACCURED WITH MINE OPENING BEING ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE AND MY WIFE BEING ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE. THIS IS AN ISSUE AS EVEN MY NEIGHBOR WHO HAS A BRAND NEW DURANGO HAD THIS ISSUE. I'VE ONLY HAD MY VEHICLE FOR A YEAR AND HALF AND PURCHASED IT BEYOND THE 36K WARRANTY. THIS IS A ISSUE IN WHICH CAN CAUSE A SHORTAGE OF THE TAIL LIGHTS, WHICH CAUSES THE OWNER TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A DEFECTIVE TAIL LIGHT COMING FROM THE MANUFACTURE. I'VE SEEN MANY COMPLIANT AND FORUMS OF OWNERS DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE AND IT HAS BEEN A LEADING CAUSE FOR OWNERS TO HAVE TO PAY OVER $1,000 TO GET THIS ISSUE FIXED. I SPOKE WITH THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER OF DODGE IN WHICH NEITHER OF THEM CAN SPEAK ON THE MATTER TO FIX OR REMEDY THE ISSUE. THIS SHORTAGE CAN BE A FIRE AND SAFETY HAZARD AS OWNERS DRIVING THAT HAVE WATER LEAKING INTO THEIR RACE TRACK LIGHT CAN THEN END UP HAVE THE TAIL LIGHTS GO OUT DUE TO AN ISSUE OF A DEFECTIVE ITEM FROM THE MANUFACTURER IN WHICH THE OWNER HAS NO CONTROL OVER THIS MATTER AND WOULDN'T THINK TO EVEN LOOK AT IT UNTIL SOMETHING IS ACTUALLY WRONG. THE BIG ISSUE IS THAT I'M SHIPPING MY VEHICLE TO GERMANY SOON AND THIS IS AN ISSUE IN WHICH I DON'T WANT MY VEHICLE UNABLE TO BE PROCESSED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE ITEM FROM THE MANUFACTURER.
DEFECTIVE MIDDLE LIGHT HOUSING OF REAR TAILLIGHTS, WHICH SEPARATES OVER TIME AND ALLOWS WATER TO POOL IN LOWER LIGHT BAR, AROUND LEDS - EVENTUALLY LEADING TO LED FAILURE. THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE FOR DODGE. I HAVE HAD THE MIDDLE LED TAILLIGHT SECTION REPLACED ONCE BY DODGE FEB 2018 AT APPROXIMATELY 33,000 MILES. NOW AFTER 15 MONTHS, AT APPROXIMATELY 44,000 MILES THE EXACT SITUATION IS HAPPENING AGAIN. THE TAILLIGHT HAS SEPARATED AGAIN AND IS ALLOWING WATER TO ENTER INTO THE LED SECTION, AGAIN LEADING TO LED FAILURE AS SHOWN IN ATTACHMENT.
WATER IS LEAKING INTO THE RACETRACK TAIL LIGHT CAUSING THE DAMAGE AND MAKING THE CAR LESS VISIBLE.
PREMATURE WEAR ON TAIL HOUSING SEAL GASKET. WATER LEAKS IN WHEN IT RAINS AND FILLS THE TAIL LIGHT. WATER THEN AFFECTS THE LED WHEN THEN FLICKERS BEFORE IT KILLS THE LED.
