Airbag light is on.
On 4/22/22 a lady hit my van so hard and no air bags deploy. I hit my head on the steering wheel and it never came out. No air bags in my van came out. Also the seal belts didn't hold anyone into place.
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON JUNE 15TH, 2019. I HIT A HIGHWAY CONCRETE MEDIAN DIVIDER HEAD ON AT APPROXIMATELY 60MPH. THE DRIVER, PASSENGER OR SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
RED LIGHT FOR FRONT AIR BAG
TAKATA RECALL. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF, THE HORN DOES NOT WORK AND THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING WHICH IS RECALLED ON ALL OTHER VEHICLES BUT DOES NOT SHOW UP ON MINE. THIS NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING, THE BRAKES WOULD ERRONEOUSLY ACTIVATE AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ABRUPTLY SLOW DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DOTHAN DODGE(4074 ROSS CLARK CIR, DOTHAN, AL) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCKSPRING WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE BRAKE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000. *BF CONSUMER STATED BRAKES WILL LOCK DOWN 80% DAILY AND WILL ACCERLATE AFTER RELEASING THE BRAKES WHICH CAUSES EXCESSIVE PAD WEAR. THIS ALSO CAUSES A/C TO SHUTDOWN.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR IMPACT. WICKSTROM DODGE & CHRYSLER OF BARRINGTON, ILLINOIS WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THAT THEY WOULD SEND SOMEONE TO INVESTIGATE/INSPECT THE VEHICLE WITHIN TWO TO THREE DAYS. IN ADDITION, THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE ENTIRE INVESTIGATION PROCESS WOULD TAKE A MONTH TO COMPLETE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000.
TAKATA RECALL - DOES THIS VEHICLE HAVE RECALLED TAKATA INFLATORS?
ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP (WITHNELL DODGE, IN SALEM, OR) THERE ARE NO OPEN RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE. EXCEPT THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME, AND BASED ON MY RESEARCH, THERE USED TO BE A RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG MODULE: RECALL NUMBER: 16V047000 / RECALL DATE: 01/29/2016 / COMPONENT: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE 2009, AND AS FAR AS I KNOW, THE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT HAS NEVER BEEN REPLACED AS IT STATES IN THE RECALL. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK AND CONFIRM THE AIRBAG CONTROL HAS BEEN REPLACED, BUT THEY REFUSED UNLESS I WAS WILLING TO PAY FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE, AND I DON'T BELIEVE THIS RECALL HAS BEEN PERFORMED EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE RECORD SHOWS THERE IS NO OPEN RECALLS. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE HAS THE PROBLEM LISTED IN THE RECALL, AND I WOULD LIKE FOR DODGE TO REPAIR (FREE OF CHARGE) AS STATED IN THE RECALL.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN CONCUSSION, BRUISING TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF HER BODY, THE LEFT CHEEK HAD BRUISING. THE CONTACT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V394000 (AIR BAGS, EQUIPMENT). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 113,000.
I WAS JUST GETTING ONTO THE STREET AND WAS JUST MAYBE GOING 10-15MPH , WHEN THE VEHICLE TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITY CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS CAME ON AND INCREASED ACCELERATION AND PULLED TO ONE SIDE WHEN THE DASH LIGHTS MENTIONED CAME ON. ALSO SOUNDED LIKE BRAKES WERE BEING APPLIED AT SAME TIME . I WAS BARELY ABLE TO MAKE IT TO DEALER WITHOUT BEING IN AM ACCIDENT . THE CLOCKSPRING HAD TO BE REPLACED.

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2008 DODGE CARAVAN. I NEEDED AN INSPECTION STICKER AND COME TO FIND OUT THE HORN WOULDN'T BLOW. HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND HE SAID THE COIL IN THE STEERING WAS BAD WHICH ALSO OPERATES THE VEHICLES DRIVER AIRBAG. IT WILL NOT DEPLOY IF I WERE TO BE IN A CRASH. I WOULD THINK THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BEING THAT THE MECHANIC SAID IT IS COMMON. THIS IS PRICY TO FIX. AFTER THE PART AND LABOR IT WILL COST ME $650.00!..UPDATED 07-08-15 *BF UPDATED 9/15/2015 *JS
WE HAVE NOT HAD AN ISSUE YET. HOWEVER OUR AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY COMING ON AND WE HAVE HAD IT CHECKED 3-4 TIMES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VAN. WE ALSO HAVE A SAFETY RECALL THAT HAS BEEN IN EFFECT SINCE 2014 AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND IN FACT THEY ARE NOT EVEN BEING MANUFACTURED YET. WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY CHRYSLER IS NOT TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY. WE COULD GET INTO AN ACCIDENT AND OUR AIR BAGS AND RESTRAINT SYSTEM COULD FAIL. WHAT CAN WE DO? *TR
I HAVE AN AIRBAG LIGHT, NO HORN AND CRUISE CONTROL WHICH WHILE SEARCHING SEEMS TO BE A CLOCK SPRING IN THE STEERING COLUMN. DODGE SAYS ITS NOT COVERED BY A RECALL OR WARRANTY, BUT THEY HAVE HAD OTHER YEARS AFFECTED WITH A RECALL, BUT THEY ARE NOT DOING MUCH TO REPLACE THIS.
