THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. CAR JUST QUITS RUNNING AT ANY TIME. RECALL WAS DONE TO FIX SOME CONTROL MODULE AND NEW FOBS. NOT FIXED.
WHILE DRIVING AROUND 45 MPH ON SOUTHBOUND GA125, THE WATER TEMPERATURE STARTED TO FLUCTUATE AND I SMELLED ANTIFREEZE BURNING. I STOPPED AT A GAS STATION AND STEAM ROSE FROM HOOD. UNDER THE HOOD, FLUID HAD SPRAYED FROM THE HEATER HOSE "Y-PIPE". ANTIFREEZE SATURATED THE UNDER-HOOD BLANKET AND COVERED THE ENGINE. ALL OF THE ANTIFREEZE WAS PURGED ONTO THE GROUND AND IN THE ENGINE BAY. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THIS EXACT PART. THE FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE WAS ABOUT 3 YEARS OLD (2011) I HAD IT REPLACED AT MY LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP (CASS BURCH VALDOSTA, GEORGIA) TODAY THE SAME PART FAILED IN THE EXACT SAME MANNER. PLEASE INVESTIGATE A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL, OR AT LEAST A BETTER QUALITY REPLACEMENT PART. PLASTIC AND HOT FLUID APPARENTLY DON'T MIX.

BEGINNING IN FEBRUARY OF 2015 THE VEHICLE HAS HAD INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WHERE IT WILL SHUT OFF UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS OCCURRED ALL ALL SPEEDS AND RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF POWER, POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. THE DODGE DEALER REPLACED THE WIRELESS CONTROL MODULE UNDER AN OPEN RECALL THAT WAS INTENDED TO FIX THIS STALLING. AFTER RECALL WORK WAS PERFORMED VEHICLE CONTINUES TO STALL UNEXPECTEDLY.

I CALLED MY DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IT MAY BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL ON MY KEY FOB ELECTRONIC SHIFTER RECALL, BUT THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE YET. I WAS ALSO ASKED IF THERE WAS AN ENGINE LIGHT THAT WENT ON AND I SAID NO. I WAS TOLD THAT THEN THEY COULD NOT CHECK ON THEIR COMPUTERS FOR THE PROBLEM UNLESS THE "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" HAD EXHIBITED. I WAS DRIVING EASTBOUND ON THE 10 FWY , ABOUT 40MPH AND IN THE FIRST LANE BECAUSE I HAD JUST GOT ON FREEWAY ABOUT 1 1/2 AGO AND WHILE I WAS DRIVING I FELT THE PEDDLE LOSE POWER SO I TRIED TO ACCELERATE BY PUSHING A LITTLE HARDER AND I FELT THE CAR GAINING NO SPEED ONLY SLOWING DOWN THEN I LOOK AT GAUGES AND ALL GAUGES WERE NON FUNCTIONAL AS IF THE CAR WAS OFF, IT WAS THEN THAT I NOTICED I HAD NO CONTROL IN STEERING EITHER THE CAR WAS JUST COMPLETELY DIED. AS I COASTED TO A STOP JUST A LITTLE BETWEEN THE FIRST LANE AND EMERGENCY LANE I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, QUICKLY, AND TURN THE KEY BACK TO THE ON POSITION AS THEN I ALSO NOTICED THE KEY WAS NOT IN ON POSITION. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER THREE TIMES ON THIS MATTER AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR SAYING THAT THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE ANYWHERE FROM A FEW WEEKS TO UP TO A YEAR.YOUR WEBSITE SAYS THAT THE PART IS AVAILABLE BUT MY DEALERSHIP SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART AS OF TODAY.
