VAN HAS A BAD TIPM WHICH FROM WHAT I HAVE READ SAYS COULD SET OFF AIRBAGS ANT TIME. SAFETY HAZARD
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact stated that several electrical failures had occurred on the vehicle while the vehicle was turned off. The failures included the sliding doors independently unlocking and opening without warning or input. The contact also stated that the safety alarm would sound independent while the power windows rolled down independently while the vehicle was turned off. The contact had the vehicle towed by a dealer and was informed that the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000. Consumer is still having issues with the vehicle.
DRIVING AT ABOUT15 M.P.H. I HAD TROUBLE STEERING AND NOISE WAS COMING FOR UNDER THE HOOD, I PULLED OVER AND I LOOK UNDER THE CAR IT WAS LEAKING LOTS OF OIL. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER,THE PROBLEM WAS A HOLE IN THE TUBING ON THE RACKEN PINEN STEERING .IF IT WAS ON A HIGHWAY OR ON A FASTER ROAD IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A VERY BAD ACCIDENT WITH OIL LEAKING AND COULD NOT STEER THE VAN. I WAS VERY VERY LUCKY.THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT. I HAVE A PICTURE OF THE HOLE. I REPORTED TO CHRYSLER. Consumer stated metal that was replaced rusted.
VAN LOSES BRAKES WHEN APPLIED OVER A POTHOLE OR OTHER ROUGH ROAD. IT TRAVELS FOR ABOUT 15 FEET THEN STOPS (REGARDLESS OF PUMPING THE BRAKE). IT BUILDS UP AFTER THE VAN STOPS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, OBVIOUSLY. PERHAPS THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN A MONTH (9/16/2020 WAS THE LAST TIME). ALSO, DEALERSHIPS APPEAR TO GUESS WHEN REPAIRING THE PROBLEM, COSTING CONSUMERS IN THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
DRIVING VAN IN TOWN 35 MPH WIPERS CAME ON BY THEMSELVES AND STAYED ON SWITCH IN THE OFF POSITION INFORMATION PANEL GOES OUT ALONG WITH SPEEDOMETER, TACH, AND GAGES VAN RUNS LIKE NORMAL. CHANGED TIPM NO CORRECTION FAILURE HAPPENED AT 156000 THOUSAND MILES
VAN WILL BOG DOWN AND THEN JUST SHUT OFF. WILL ALSO TAKE 5-6 TIMES BEFORE IT WILL RESTART. THE ELECTRICAL GOES HAYWIRE RANDOMLY. FOUND OUT THE TIPM IS BAD AND THERE WAS A RECALL ON OTHER VEHICLES DOING THE SAME EXACT THING DURING THE SAME YEARS.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON THEN ALL LIGHTS ON THE PANEL LIT UP. CAR DIED WHILE PULLING OFF THE ROAD AND STOPPED. DOORS WILL NOT WORK AND CAR WILL NOT START NOW. HAD A TODDLER IN THE BACKSEAT AND SIDE DOORS DO NOT OPEN MANUALLY, HAD TO CRAWL THROUGH FRONT SEAT AREA TO RELEASE CHILD RESTRAINTS AND PULL HIM OUT FROM THE FRONT
BOTH SLIDING DOORS WERE WORKING FINE, THEN ONE DAY THE DRIVER'S SLIDING DOOR JUST FROZE--CAN'T OPEN IT ELECTRONICALLY OR MANUALLY. THE LOCK IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND THE POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH WON'T MOVE THAT DOOR'S LOCK TO THE 'UNLOCK' POSITION. WHEN YOU TRY TO MOVE THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON/LEVER ON THAT SLIDING DOOR, IT'S STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION--EVEN WITH A BUNCH OF FORCE I CAN'T MOVE THE LEVER TO THE UNLOCKED POSITION--I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING TO BREAK THE LEVER IF I FORCE IT TOO MUCH.
THESE VEHICLES HAVE AN ONGOING ISSUE OF HAVING THE CYLINDER 4 MISFIRE. YOU CAN HAVE THE SPARK PLUG, SPARK PLUG WIRE, THE COIL PACK, CYLINDER HEAD VALVE, FUEL INJECTOR, VACUUM, SHAFTS AND EVERYTHING ELSE REPLACED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL STILL COME ON SAYING THAT THIS CYLINDER IS MISFIRING. I HAVE HEARD AND READ MANY ARTICLES THAT SAY THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES AND EVERYONE IS SURPRISED THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE. AT THIS POINT, YOUR ONLY OPTION TO HAVE A RE-MANUFACTURED ENGINE INSTALLED WHICH CAN END UP COSTING MORE THAN YOU OWE ON THE CAR WHICH MANY PEOPLE CANNOT AFFORD. HOW CAN YOU ALLOW A VEHICLE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE AND NOT HAVE A SOLUTION TO FIX IT? THIS CODE APPEARED ON MARCH 2019 AFTER A WEEK OF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE REPLACED EVERY PART THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS ERROR CODE AND THE ONLY OPTION IT TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. THIS IS JUST NOT FEASIBLE AS THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS CAR AND SHOULD BE REPLACED. *TR
SLIDING PASSENGER DOORS ON BOTH SIDES OF VAN REFUSE TO OPEN OR UNLOCK. DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED MANUALLY, WITH KEY FOB OR WITH THE BUTTON ON THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. THIS PREVENTS PASSENGERS IN REAR (USUALLY CHILDREN) FROM BEING ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, WHICH COULD BE PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WITH THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF AND THE KEY OUT THE IGNITION, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (ANDERSON CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 5711 E STATE ST, ROCKFORD, IL 61108) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 151,774.
WHEN YOU PUT THE KEY IN IT IT JUST CRANKS AND CRANKS AND CRANKS BUT NEVER STARTS. WHEN IT FIRST STARTED IT WAS JUST OCCASIONALLY BUT NOW IT WONT START AT ALL SO IT JUST SITS IN THE DRIVEWAY. I'M A GRANDMOTHER RAISING HER GRANDCHILDREN BE NICE TO HAVE A VEHICLE TO TAKE THE BABIES TO THEIR APPTS. BUT OBVIOUSLY DODGE DOESN'T CARE BECAUSE THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND DONT WANT TO MAKE THE PART AVAILABLE TO US TO FIX IT SO WE SPEND THE MONEY FOR THESE VEHICLE TO SET IN OUR DRIVEWAYS. I PURCHASED THE VAN ON A FRIDAY AND WITHIN A WEEK IT STARTED HIT AND MISS STARTING AND BY THE SECOND WEEK IN IS NOW PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. THIS IS CRAZY DODGE YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS RIGHT OR AT LEAST MAKE THE PART AVAILABLE FOR US TO PURCHASE SO WE CAN FIX OUR VEHICLES
WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER/SPEED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS LOSING COMPRESSION IN THE CYLINDER DUE TO A DEFECTIVE LIFTER THAT CAUSES DAMAGE TO THE CAM
FOUND A PUDDLE OF OIL IN MY DRIVEWAY, TOOK TO MECHANIC, INFORMED ME THE ENGINE OIL FILTER HOUSING WAS BROKEN, AND HE HAD 10 OF THESE RECENTLY. ALSO TOLD ME WHEN HE CONTACTED DEALER FOR PARTS, THEY SAID THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE, THATS WHY THEY KEEP A LOT IN STOCK.
DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY, WITH BUTTON, OR WITH KEY FOB. I HAVE TRIED UNLOCKING THE DOOR WHILE DRIVING, IN PARK, AND WHEN TURNED OFF. I HAVE TRIED UNLOCKING THE DOOR MANUALLY AND THE LOCK IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION.

THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL AND THE SECURITY INDICATOR WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR STREET THE VEHICLE LOOSES ALL POWER. DASH GOES BLANK AND NO STEERING AVAILABLE. TODAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY VAN LOST ALL POWER ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
VAN DOESNT ALWAYS START, TAKING MANY TRIES TO TURN OVER. HAS BEEN TO DODGE AND OTHER MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES. BEEN TOLD THAT THE TIPM/ FUEL PUMP RELAY IS THE ISSUE. VAN HAS SHUT OFF INTERMITTENTLY ON THE HIGHWAY ON TWO OCCASIONS.
THE FUEL PUMP RELAY ON THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) ON MY 2011 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN IS OPERATING INTERMITTENTLY WHICH IS CAUSING ENGINE STALLS AND HARD STARTS. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM, I FOUND THAT THERE IS ALREADY A RECALL (SAFETY RECALL R09 / NHTSA 15V-115) FOR THE SAME ISSUE FOR OTHER DODGE AND JEEP VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE SAME ENGINE & TIPMS. TROUBLESHOOTING HAS VERIFIED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IS INDEED THE ISSUE. AN ATTEMPTING TO PURCHASE THE RELAY KIT CBWPR091AA SPECIFIED IN THE RECALL FROM MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER IN CONWAY ARKANSAS FAILED. THEY TELL ME THEY CAN'T SELL ME THE PART BECAUSE THE RECALL DOES NOT COVER MY VEHICLE AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR A $1000+ TIPMS BOARD REPLACEMENT. DODGE IS EXTORTING EXORBITANT AMOUNTS FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR EXPENSIVE REPAIRS THAT COULD BE DONE AT A TINY FRACTION OF THE COST IF CUSTOMERS WERE ALLOWED TO PURCHASE THAT SIMPLE RELAY KIT. MEANWHILE I'M HAVING TO OPERATE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE UNTIL I FIND ANOTHER SOURCE TO OBTAIN THE SPECIFIED PART IN THE RECALL. THIS MODEL VEHICLE SHOULD ALSO BE PART OF THAT SAFETY RECALL AND DODGE/CHRYSLER SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR PUTTING THEIR CUSTOMERS AT RISK AS A RESULT OF THEIR UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES.

INTERMITTENT NO START ISSUE. ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS WARM, I STOP FOR A QUICK STOP, AND ATTEMPT TO RESTART VEHICLE; NO START - NO CRANK, NO CLICK, NO HUM, NO HISS, NOTHING. AFTER 30 MINUTES TO AN HOUR THE VEHICLE WILL START WITH NO ISSUES. HAVE HAD VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS YET UNABLE TO RECREATE THE NO START ISSUE. STARTER IS GOOD, ALTERNATOR IS GOOD. HAS HAPPENED IN WARM WEATHER AND IN COLD WEATHER AND HAS HAPPENED A DOZEN TIMES OR MORE SINCE DECEMBER 16, 2019.
WIRELESS IGNITION NODE (WIN) MODULE POSITION FAILS COMPROMISING THE ABILITY TO START THE ENGINE WITH KEY FOB. THIS WAS REPAIRED ONCE FOR 122 DOLLARS. THREE MONTHS LATER, DEALERSHIP WANTS 1200 TO FIX IT. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND TOW TRUCK WAS REQUIRED.
ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR QUITE SOME TIME. DEALERS UNABLE TO LOCATE PROBLEM. THOUGHT IT WAS CAMSHAFT SENSOR, REPLACED AND SAME ISSUES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ALWAYS ON, SEEMS TO COME ON AFTER EXTENDED DRIVING. ON HIGHWAY, WITH ENGINE LIGHT ON TRACTION LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE PAST ABOUT 60 MPH EVEN WHEN PRESSING GAS TO FLOOR. ON HIGHWAY THIS IS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. I SEE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND I AM FRUSTRATED THAT NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE. BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS.
IT STARTED WITH MY VEHICLE NOT STARTING INTERMITTENTLY. AS THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE AT FIRST WE THOUGHT IT MAY BE THE FUEL PUMP. AFTER EXTENSIVE SEARCHING IT WAS REVEALED TO BE A FAULTY TIPM MODULE THAT CAUSES ISSUES WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM. I CONTACTED DODGE AND THEY VALIDATED THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THERE HAS BEEN RECALLS LISTED FOR MOST VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME MODULE, HOWEVER NOT FOR THE DODGE GRAND CARAVAN, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY. THE ISSUE HAS NOW ESCALATED. WHILE DRIVING IN THE PITCH DARK TO WORK THE VEHICLE STARTED ACTING FUNNY, THEN ALL POWER SHUT OFF, STEERING LOCKED, FOB LOCKED IN IGNITION, NO LIGHTS, NO BLINKERS, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING. I HAD JUST DROPPED OFF MY SON SO GLAD HE WASN'T WITH ME. IT SEEMS THE PROBLEM ALL GOES BACK TO THE TIPM WHICH HAS BEEN DRAINING MY BATTERY AND CAUSING OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I CONTACTED DODGE AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS "OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY". I EXPLAINED HOW THIS PROBLEM DOESN'T EVEN START UNTIL APPROX. 70,000 MILES(I'M CURRENTLY AT 60,000). BEYOND THAT THE WARRANT Y WAS EXPIRED WHEN I PURCHASED IT USED FROM THE DODGE DEALER 3 YEARS AGO. I'VE CONTACTED DODGE NUMEROUS TIMES AND NO ONE OF ANY STATURE WILL EVEN TALK TO ME SINCE THE CASEWORKER CALLED THE CASE "CLOSED" BASED ON THE WARRANTY. I THINK THIS IS IMMORAL ON THE PART OF DODGE BEING THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PERSISTENT PROBLEM WITH THESES MODULES THAT GOES AS FAR BACK AS 2010, YET THEY CONTINUED TO USE IT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE SO MY WIFE CAN MOVE MY CHILD AROUND SAFELY, AND AM SCARED TO EVEN LET HER DRIVE IT. AT THE MOMENT NO ONE IS DRIVING IT BECAUSE IT DIED ON THE ROAD AND SMELLS LIKE THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS BURNING. I AM CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A WAY TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THE ESTIMATED COST OF REPAIR IS AROUND $2,000.00.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,794.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO LOCATED FAILURE CODE: P0302, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE ENGINE SOLENOID HEAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR THE ENGINE REPLACEMENT AND THE REPAIR ONLY COVERED 150 MILES AND 10 YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.
MY DODGE GRAND CARAVAN IS HARD TO START. SOMETIMES IT CRANKS FOR MINUTES WITHOUT STARTING, LIKE IT'S OUT OF GAS. THEN IT WILL START AND RUN FINE. SOMETIMES IT STARTS, BUT CHUGS AND DIES RIGHT AWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE MONTH OF OCTOBER 2019 BUT IT WAS WORSE ON 10/27/19. OTHER 2011 MODELS HAVE HAD RECALLS FOR THE TIPM, THE GRAND CARAVAN HAS NOT.

A BYSTANDER ASSISTED WITH JUMPSTARTING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED AN ABNORMAL POPPING NOISE AND, WITHIN SECONDS, FLAMES APPEARED UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT CALLED HER INSURANCE COMPANY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT HER INSURANCE COVERAGE HAD EXPIRED. THE HOOD AND DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WERE DAMAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 68053361. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CALL NHTSA. THE CONTACT ALSO REFERENCED NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: DP14004DP14004(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
AFTER VEHICLE SITS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS COLD OR WET OUT THE VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE TO TURN OVER WITHOUT STARTING THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IS NOT OPPERATING AT ALL TIMES AS IT'S FAULTY WITH NO WAY TO REPLACE IT AS IT IS NOT SEPARATE ENTITY FROM THE TIPM CIRCUIT BOARD. SO THERE ARE DAYS WHERE THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE AS IT WILL NOT START DO TO THE PROBLEM OF NO FUEL BEING INJECTED INTO THE ENGINE DUE TO A BAD OR FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY.
I HAVE HAD MY VAN NOW FOR ABOUT 700 MILES, WE BOUGHT IT USED FROM A LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I RAN THE VAN THROUGH AN AUTOMATIC CAR WASH, AND WHEN I PUT THE VAN BACK INTO GEAR AND BEGAN TO MOVE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. SO I TURNED OFF THE VAN HOPING TO RESET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE VAN DID NOT WANT TO START BACK UP. (AT THIS POINT I AM IN A ALLEY WITH ONE WAY TRAFFIC) FINALLY I GOT THE VAN TO START BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON WHEN I PUT IT INTO GEAR IT SPUTTERED AND THEN STOPPED IT GAVE A RED LIGHT WITH A BOLT THROUGH IT AND ALSO THE OIL LIGHT CAME ONE. AGAIN I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO START THE VEHICLE AND FINALLY GOT IT TO GO AGAIN. THEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IT BEGAN SHIFTING ON ITS OWN, IT IS AN AUTOMATIC BUT THE 1, 2, 4, 3 , 2 , 1 GEARS BEGAN SHOWING AN FINALLY IT STALLED, LUCKY I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT TRUST WORTHY. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE. I DO HAVE SOME VIDEO OF THESE THINGS HAPPENING.

FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW I HAVE DEALT WITH A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP NOT TURNING OFF AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SHUT OFF. IT HAS DRAIN THE BATTERY DEAD. NOW IT HAS EVOLVED INTO A PROBLEM WHERE THE CAR IS STALLING AND SHUTTING CAR SYSTEMS DOWN WITHOUT NOTICE. THANK GOODNESS I WAS NOT MOVING WHEN IT STALLED. IT APPEARS IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP MODULE RELAY. DODGE NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD.
WHILE I WAS SLIGHTLY ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT AND TURNING AROUND A CORNER GOING 5-10 MPH MY DRIVERS SIDE QUARTER WINDOW EXPLODED AND THE DRIVERS SIDE NEAR PASSENGER WINDOW SHATTERED. I WAITED FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT TO ACCESS THE SCENE TO SEE IF SOMETHING HIT MY CAR AND THEY CONCLUDED THAT NOTHING ENTERED OR EXITED MY VEHICLE. THEY ADVISED ME TO CONTACT DODGE ABOUT DEFECTIVE WINDOWS BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THAT CAUSED THIS AND NO DAMAGE TO THE VAN OTHER THAN THE WINDOWS. DODGE IS NOT ASSUMING ANY RESPONSIBILITY AND IS DENYING REIMBURSEMENT. THIS SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HAPPEN. UPON RESEARCHING IF THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE IT APPEARED TO HAPPENED TO SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE BACK SEAT. MY DAUGHTER HAD SHATTERED GLASS ALL OVER HER WITH GLASS DOWN HER SHIRT AND SHE WAS SCREAMING. MY VEHICLE IS OLDER BUT CLEARLY IF THIS IS A 'NORMAL' THING TO HAPPEN FOR A VEHICLE THIS AGE THEN ALL DODGE VEHICLES SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF THE ROAD AT A CERTAIN AGE/MILEAGE. I WAS MORE THAN WILLING TO DO ANYTHING NECESSARY FOR DODGE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE BUT KEPT GETTING TOLD THAT THEY WERE PROCESSING THE CLAIM AND THAT THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY NEEDED FROM ME. WHEN THEY CALLED TO TELL ME THEY DENIED MY CLAIM THEY ACTED LIKE THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO SHOW THAT THEY WERE AT FAULT BECAUSE AN INSPECTION WAS NOT DONE.

APPARENTLY I NO LONGER HAVE POWER TO MY FUEL PUMP, AND THE RELAY IS INTEGRATED INTO THE FUSE BOX. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE THAT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO RANDOMLY SHUT OFF. DEALERSHIPS WANT $1200 TO FIX.

THERE IS A FAULTY TIPM IN MY 2011 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THIS CAUSES MY VEHICLE TO STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD OR NOT START WHEN I AM AWAY FROM HOME. WE HAVE BEEN STUCK BLOCKING TRAFFIC ON THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY MULTIPLE TIMES DUE TO A FUEL PUMP RELAY THAT STOPS WORKING AND DISRUPTS GAS FLOW TO THE ENGINE. CURRENTLY MY CAR IS DISABLED DUE TO THIS TIPM. DIESEL DODGE VEHICLES ARE UNSAFE DUE TO THE DISRUPTION IN THE POWER MODULE THAT SUPPLIES EVERY SYSTEM IN THE CAR WITH POWER TO KEEP THE VEHICLE RUNNING. IN ALL OF THAT TIME THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS HAVING ITS TRANSMISSION ISSUES DIAGNOSED AND INSPECTED, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT FAILED TO ADDRESS THE OPEN RECALL OF NHTSA RECALL #17V-376, FCA RECALL #T33 FOR THE STEERING WHEEL WIRING. THE DEALERSHIP KNOWS ABOUT OPEN RECALLS AND, YET FAILED TO PERFORM THE REPAIRS ON THIS VEHICLE. INSTEAD, IT ALLOWED MY VEHICLE TO BE TOWED FROM ITS LOT BACK TO MY HOME ADDRESS, DESPITE KNOWING THAT IT FAILED TO ADDRESS THE RECALL. DODGE CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVES INFORMED ME OF THIS RECALL WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THEM AND STILL THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT EVEN MAKE MENTION OF THIS. THEY FAILED TO REPAIR THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS OR FATAL ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE AND DODGE FAILED TO ENSURE THAT THE VEHICLE RECALL WAS COMPLETED DURING ALL OF MY CONVERSATIONS WITH DODGE AND DODGE EXECUTIVE OFFICE PERSONNEL.
