WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR STALLS, BUT SOME ELECTRICAL LIGHTS STAY ON. THE SPEEDOMETER DROPS TO ZERO, THE GAS PEDAL DOES NOTHING, THE POWER BRAKES STOP BUT CAN BRAKE WITH A LOT OF FOOT PRESSURE, THE POWER STEERING STOPS BUT CAN TURN THE WHEEL WITH ARM STRENGTH, THE LEFT AND RIGHT BLINKERS WON'T WORK, BUT HAZARD LIGHTS DO WORK. THE HEATER FAN STOPS. BUT THE LIGHTS IN THE DASH STAY ON. THIS IS SCARY BECAUSE IT CAN HAPPEN AT ANY MOMENT. WE HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE TO BE IN AN AREA WHERE WE CAN PULL OVER WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT... SO FAR. THIS IGNITION SWITCH ELECTRICAL PROBLEM APPEARS TO HAVE A RECALL ON OTHER DODGE VEHICLES, BUT NOT THE 2012 CARAVAN. MY MECHANIC HAS QUOTED A FIX PRICE OF OVER $600 WHICH IS HITTING US HARD IN THE WALLET. PLEASE ENCOURAGE DODGE TO INCLUDE THE CARAVAN IN THIS RECALL. PEOPLES LIVES ARE AT STAKE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING AT LEAST 3-5 TIMES PER WEEK, STARTING IN THE FALL OF 2019.
IT STALLS WHILE DRIVING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUSE PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HILLER COMPANY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT ( 635 MILL STREET, US-6, MARION, MA 02738, (508) 748-0019) AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED.
VEHICLE WILL EITHER NOT START OR TAKES 6-12 TIMES TO START, NOT A BATTERY ISSUE. ALSO POWER DOOR WILL RANDOMLY NOT OPEN. TRUNK WILL NO LONGER OPEN WITH THE PRESS OF THE BUTTON ON THE KEY. I'VE SEEN THE NOT STARTING AS AN ISSUE WITH MANY OTHER PEOPLE
OVER THE LAST 6 WEEKS, ON OCCASION WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE- IT WILL CRANK WITHOUT TURNING OVER AND RUNNING. THIS REQUIRES MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD RUN. IT HAS BECOME A MORE FREQUENT EVENT TO INCLUDE BRIEFLY RUNNING THEN SHUTTING DOWN. WTHIN THE LAST WEEK, THE BATTERY HAS DRAINED WITHOUT CASUE- REQUIREING CHARGING. AS OF TODAY, THE FAILURE TO START ISSUE PERSISTS REQUIREING MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THIS HAPPENS ON A COLD START AS WELL AS WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RUNNING/IS WARMED UP. DDIAGNOSTICS LEAD TO A FAILURE OF THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IN THE TIPM. THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE FOR THIS ENGINE/TIPM HOWEVER THE CARAVAN HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AS THE DRUANGO AND JEEP VEHICLES HAVE BEEN. THE FAILURE OF THIS TIPM HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED TO INCLUDE SUDDEN ENGINE SHUTDOWN WHILE IN OPERATION REPRESENTING A SIGNIFICANT DANGER TO THE PUBLIC. BASED ON REVIEWS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS, AN ORDINARY REASONABLE PRUDENT PERSON WOULD BELIEVE THAT THIS TIPM FAILURE IS A IMINENT THREAT TO SAFETY. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO EXPAND THE RECALL AND REPAIR TO ALL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE SUSPECT TIPM. CURRENTLY, A NON RECALLED VEHICLE WOULD HAVE THE TIPM MODULE REPLCED AT A SIGNIFICANT COST TO THE OWNER OR, A NON DEALERSHIP INSTALLED "RECALL" REPAIR (NEW RELAY) INSTALLED THAT WOULD NEGATE ANY FURTHER/FUTURE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER. AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTERS SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THE OPTION OF PAYING FOR THE "RECALL" REPAIR WHEN SERVICING A VEHICLE NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. KNOWING THIS TIPM FAILURES POTENTIAL, I WOULD SUGGEST THAT, REGARDLESS OF ANY CLASS ACTIN SETTLEMENT- THE MANUFACTURER BE REQUIRED TO MITIGATE THIS ISSUE AT THE LEAST POSSIBLE EXPENSE TO THE VEHICLE OWNER.
ON 1/6/2020 I STARTED MY VAN AND NOTICED IT SPUTTERED A LITTLE DURING STARTUP. ON MY WAY HOME, I STOPPED AT A STORE TO PICKUP A FEW THINGS. WHEN I TRIED TO START THE VAN AGAIN IT WOULD NOT START. I KNEW IT WASN'T THE BATTERY BECAUSE THE LIGHTS AND RADIO STILL WORKED. WHILE WAITING FOR A FRIEND TO PICK ME UP, I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. DROVE IT ACROSS THE STREET TO O'REILLYS TO HAVE BATTERY TESTED, JUST IN CASE. HAD TO START IT AGAIN. WOULDN'T START AGAIN. WAITED A MINUTE. TRIED AGAIN, IT SPUTTERED, I GAVE IT SOME GAS AND IT STARTED. EMPLOYEE WHO WAS ASSISTING HEARD A WHISTLING NOISE. SUGGESTING A VACUUM LEAK. CALLED MY MECHANIC. SCHEDULED APPT FOR 1/8/2020. TRIED TO START IT THE MORNING ON 1/8/2020. WOULD NOT START. MECHANIC HAD IT TOWED TO SHOP. HIS DIAGNOSIS SHOWED TPIM MODULE HAD FAILED. HE SAID HE SPOKE TO PARTS REP AT THE LITHIA DODGE AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE 14 VANS WITH SAME ISSUE WAITING FOR TPIM MODULES AND THE PART IS BACKORDERED FOR AT LEAST A MONTH. DODGE HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL YET. I HAVE FOUND BLOG POSTS DATING BACK TO 2014 WITH CONSUMERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND DODGE IS NOT ACCOMMODATING OWNERS WITH ANYTHING. COST OF TPIM MODULE IS $994. LABOR IS $360. I ALSO HAD TO HAVE MY FLEX PLATE REPLACED THE WEEK PRIOR BECAUSE IT CRACKED. MY MECHANIC SAID IT WAS DUE TO WEAK STEAL. SERVICE GUY AT DEALERSHIP, JASON SAID (ON 1/9/2020) SAID THIS WAS NOT UNCOMMON FOR THIS PART TO HAVE TO BE REPLACED ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. THIS REPAIR COST ME $789.95. I HAVE INCLUDED PHOTOS OF THE FLEX PLATE. I FEEL LIKE DODGE IS SIMPLY NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE MODELS FAILURES BECAUSE THEY MASS PRODUCED IT AND IF THEY HAD TO ISSUE RECALLS FOR THE FLEX PLATE AND TPIM MODULE, IT WOULD COST THE COMPANY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS, IF NOT MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. BUT THESE VANS CARRY PRECIOUS CARGO, OUR CHILDREN!!!
TROUBLE STARTING, THEN STARTS RUNS GREAT, THEN RAMDOMLY DIES ! VERY DANGEROUS!!! HARDTO FEEL SAFE WHEN YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN. CURRANTLY AT DEALER TRYING FIGURE OUT ..... I CAN NO LONGER TAKE MY GRANDCHILDREN IN HIS VAN, FOR FEAR OF BEING KILLED !
THE CAR SHUTS OFF/ STALLS WHILE DRIVING. ALMOST GOT INTO ACCIDENT WITH INFANT IN VAN BECAUSE IT DID IT SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING 20MPH ON RESIDENTIAL ROAD. VAN JUST SHUTS COMPLETELY OFF STEERING AND BRAKES LOCK. BUT ONCE CAR STOPS PUT INTO PARK ITS ABLE TO START RIGHT BACK UP AGAIN...I HAVE READ ONLINE RECALL ON IGNITION SWITCH BUT ONLY ON DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2008-2010.. I THINK IT SHOULD BE EXTENDED BECAUSE IT IS HAPPENING WITH MINE WHICH IS A 2012. MECHANIC CAN'T FIND ANY ERROR CODES.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND OFF AS I TURNED THE WHEEL STARTED IN 2016 AND NOW DEC 2019 ITS ON ALL THE TIME AND MY HORN DOESN'T WORK AND THERES A CRACK IN THE INTERIOR WHERE THE HORN IS.MY FEAR IS WHAT COULD HAPPEN NEXT COULD THE AIRBAG GO OFF WHILE IM DRIVING ALSO I NEED MY HORN WHERE I WAS OUT DRIVING 35 MINS AGO IN MY CITY A CAR ALMOST SIDE SWEEP ME I TRIED TO HONK THE HORN AND NOTICE I HAD NO HORN I HAD TO THINK FAST AND WENT HALF WAYS INTO THE ON COMING TRAFIC LANE THANKFULY THE LANE WAS EMPTY I DONT BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULDNT HAVE BROKEN
I HAVE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED AN ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED. THE ISSUE AT HAND IS THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS HAPPENED AT LOW SPEEDS (25 MPH), MIDDLE SPEEDS (45 MPH) AND HIGH SPEEDS (65-70 MPH). ALL WARNING LIGHTS ARE DISABLED WHEN THE EVENTS OCCUR, SO THERE IS NO WAY TO WARN OTHER VEHICLES OF THE ISSUES AT HAND, INCREASING THE PROBABILITY OF A CRASH. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO CUTTER DODGE IN HONOLULU ONLY TO HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE BATTERY CABLES WERE LOOSE ($150 SERVICE FEE) AND THAT THE PRIMER THAT IS INCLUDED WITH NEW BATTERIES TO APPLY ON THE BATTERY POSTS WAS SOMETHING THAT THEY'D NEVER SEEN BEFORE. THE PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED. I CURRENTLY HAVE MY VEHICLE AT A REPAIR SHOP WITH A BATTERY THAT WON'T HOLD A CHARGE BECAUSE THE INTERGRATED POWER MODULE IS MALFUNCTIONING. AS SEEN IS PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS, THIS ISSUE IS ONGOING WITH 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVANS. THIS ISSUE PRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. I WILL REPEAT THAT THE DRIVER HAS NO WARNING THAT THIS ISSUE WILL OCCUR AND IT PUTS LIVES IN DANGER. MY VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 110,000 MILES AND IT BEGAN BEFORE REACHING 100,000 MILES. RECALL THIS PART BEFORE LIVES ARE LOST OR MAIMED.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS GO DARK LOSE BREAKING STEERING. AFTER TURNING KEY SEVERAL TIMES THE ENGINE WILL RESTART. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. ALSO WHILE TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE THE IGNITION KEY DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK HAVE TO TURN THE KEY MULTIPLE TIMES TO START VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNNAMED MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER AN INTERIM REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
THIS ISSUE HAPPENED JUST THIS MORNING WHEN THE VAN WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE SLIDING DOOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VAN. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO OPEN IT MANY OTHER TIMES THIS MORNING WHILE PARKED AT MY OFFICE WITH NO SUCCESS. IT WORKED FINE LAST NIGHT. THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN OR CLOSE EITHER MANUALLY, USING THE AUTOMATIC SWITCH OR THE KEY FOB. IT MAKES A NOISE LIKE IT IS TRYING TO WORK, BUT THEN SHUTS OFF AFTER A FEW SECONDS. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF THERE WERE TO BE ANYBODY NEEDING TO GET OUT THAT DOOR IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. APPARENTLY (PER THE INTERNET) THIS IS A WELL KNOW ISSUE WITH DODGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME AFTER THE LATEST FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE KEY FOB DID NOT COOPERATE WITH THE TRANSMITTER AND FAILED TO OPERATE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 450,000.
LOCKS HAVE FAILED ON BOTH SLIDING DOORS. THE PASSENGER SIDE FAILED ABOUT A YEAR AGO BUT FAILED IN THE UNLOCK POSITION SO THE DOOR IS STILL USABLE. THE DRIVER SAID FAILED ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO IN THE LOCKED POSITION. THERE IS NO WAY TO OPEN THE DOOR TO ACCESS TO FIX. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AS WHAT IF THIS FAILED WITH MY KIDS IN THE BACK AND THEY COULDN'T GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE IN A FIRE OR OTHER EMERGENCY. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND IT IS A LONG KNOWN ISSUE WITH BOTH DODGE AND CHRYSLER VANS. WHY ISN'T THIS A RECALL? DO PEOPLE NEED TO DIE IN ORDER FOR THIS TO ACTUALLY BE RECOGNIZED AS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN?
VEHICLE ELECTRICAL AND ENGINE SHUTDOWN SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING 30MPH ON THE ROAD. NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES, HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER. WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND DRIVE NORMALLY AFTER A FEW MINUTES. BROUGHT TO DEALER BUT NO ENGINE CODES WERE DISCOVERED. HAS RECURRED MORE THAN ONCE IN A 2YR PERIOD. RELATED TO THIS ELECTRICAL (TIPM) PROBLEM, CAR OFTEN REQUIRES 3 OR 4 ATTEMPTS TO START. WILL SOMETIMES START ON ITS OWN SEVERAL SECONDS AFTER KEY STOPPED TURNING.
DRIVING AT 55MPH ON A MAIN CITY RD VEHICLE STARTED TO HESITATE THEN SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING. VEHICLE ACTED LIKE IT WAS OUT OF FUEL . I WAS ABLE TO COST VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER VEHICLE WOULD NOT START BACK UP. IT WOULD CONTINUOUSLY TURN OVER WHEN TRYING TO CRANK BUT WOULD NOT START I BOUGHT A TESTER TO TEST THE VEHICLES FUEL PUMP AS WELL AS THE FUSS AND RELAYS. I HAVE ALSO PAID A SHOP TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AND RESULTS WERE A FAILED TIPM AND FAILED FUEL PMP RELAYS WHICH ARE BUILT IN. DUE TO HIGH COSTS OF THE TIPM AND BACK ORDER WE HAD TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO WERE IT CURRENTLY SITS UNTIL A SOLUTION CAN BE MADE
TROUBLE STARTING VAN. HAVE A $1200 TIPM ON ORDER. STRONGLY FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE AS VAN COULD STALL WHILE DRIVING CAUSING A CRASH
I RECENTLY HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING BATTERY DRAINAGE TO THE POINT OF NEEDING 2 BATTERY REPLACEMENTS. I THEN REALIZED THAT AFTER I TURN OFF MY VEHICLE THE FUEL PUMP IS STILL ON. I REPLACED THE FUSE AND RELAY ONLY TO STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. THIS VEHICLE STALLED ON MY THREE TIMES WHILE DRIVING TO EITHER WORK OR ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY CHILDREN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I HAVE RAN OUT OF OPTION TO FIX IT. DODGE NEEDS TO FIGURE OUT THE CAUSE AND FIX IT.
I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE DODGE VEHICLES BUT MY VIN WAS NOT AMONG THE LIST. WHAT STEPS SHOULD I TAKE TO FIX THE PROBLEM?
BOTH REAR PASSENGER SLIDING DOORS WILL NOT OPEN. THEY ARE UNLOCKED (USING BOTH THE FOB AND THE INTERIOR MANUAL LOCK/UNLOCK). THE VAN IS ALWAYS IN AN OFF/NOT RUNNING OR PARKED STATE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO OPEN DOORS. WHETHER USING THE FOB OR MANUAL DOOR HANDLE, THE DOORS MAKE A CLICKING SOUND AND ATTEMPT TO OPEN (JERKS AND MOVES A NEGLIGIBLE AMOUNT) BUT DOES NOT OPEN. THE DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED MANUALLY. I CARRY 2 SMALL CHILDREN AND ONLY 1 HAS THE ABILITY TO RELEASE HIMSELF FROM HIS CAR SEAT AND FIND A FRONT DOOR TO EXIT OUT OF. IN AN EMERGENCY THE 2 CHILDREN WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO EXTRICATE WITHOUT CLIMBING THROUGH AN OPEN BACK HATCH (IF ACCESSIBLE) OR OVER THE FRONT SEATS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUT OFF HOWEVER, THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS RUNNING WITH THE IGNITION TURNED OFF AS A NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE FAILURE WOULD DRAIN THE BATTERY AS THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO STALL WHEN DRIVING AT 60-65 MPH WITHOUT WARNING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SUBURBAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP OF ANN ARBOR ( 3900 JACKSON RD, ANN ARBOR, MI 48103) WHOM ADVISED NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
MY DODGE CARAVAN WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE MOST COMMON ISSUE I HAVE HAD IS THAT IT WILL NOT START PROPERLY, BUT I AM TERRIFIED THAT I WILL BE ON THE FREEWAY AND HAVE IT DIE ON ME. ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC, THE ISSUE IS A BAD TIPM.
FUEL RELAY SWITCH CONTINUOUSLY RUNS AFTER THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF WHICH DRAINS THE BATTERY AND PREVENTS IT FROM STARTING. THE VEHICLE THEN NEEDS TO BE JUMP STARTED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND ONCE THE ORIGINAL VEHICLE IS RUNNING AND PUT INTO DRIVE TO BE MOVED IT SHUTS ITSELF OFF BECAUSE THE BATTERY IS NOT FULLY CHARGED.
MY VEHICLE WAS NOT STARTING , IT TOOK 1-12 TRIES TO FINALLY GET IT TO START, I HAD SOMEONE LOOK AT IT AND IT WAS THE INTAKE SENSOR, I REPLACED TRAY, STILL DIDN'T WORK, THEN THE FUEL PUMP, IN TRUE MEAN TIME MY BATTERY WAS DRAINED BECAUSE THERE WAS A NOISE BY THE BACK TIRE,(NOT AIR COMING OUT OF TIRE) SOUNDED MORE LIKE THE HEATER WAS ON, CAR WAS TOTALLY OFF. THEN THE ACTUATOR, STILL NOT WORKING, ACTUALLY GETTING WORSE. NOW IT TAKES 10-15 TIMES TO EVEN START THE CAR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE IGNITION, HOWEVER NOT FOR MY VIN, BUT OTHER VANS MY SAME YEAR AND MODEL. HOW COULD TEIS BE? AND TO TOP IT OFF THE PART IS FACTORY BACK ORDERED, COULD TAKE OVER A MONTH TO GET. PLEASE HELP!

LOGANSPORT, IN.) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
FUEL RELAY BYPASS. WHEN I TRIED TO START MY DODGE GRAND CARAVAN WHICH WAS PARKED DRIVEWAY IN MY DRIVEWAY IT WOULD NOT START. IT WAS NOT GETTING FUEL. EVENTUALLY IT DID START. WHEN I TRIED TO START MY VAN IN MY DRIVEWAY IT WOULD NOT GET FIEL TO START.THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THIS. I FOUND A YOUTUBE VIDEO THAT EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM. I HAD TO BYPASS THE FUEL RELAY. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE CARAVAN. IF I HAD TO REPLACE THE ICBM IT WOULD COST $1200. THIS ITEM IS RECALLED ON OTHER DODGE PRODUCTS AND SHOULD BE ON THE CARAVAN.

WHILE MY HUSBAND DRIVING LAST WEEK, OCTOBER 4TH 2019 TO BE EXACT, THE DRIVERS SEATBELT CAME UNLATCHED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, WE WERE ON A STRAIGHT ROAD WITH MINIMAL BUMPS OR HOLES. SINCE THIS OCCURRENCE I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE SEATBELT COMING UNLATCHED OR NOT LATCHING AT ALL, WHILE IN MOTION, GOING AROUND CURVES, AND WHILE STATIONARY. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE 3 MONTHS AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD THIS ONGOING ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 107,000.

I WAS ON HWY 10 IN EAST TEXAS NEAR CANTON AND IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE THERE WAS NO WHERE TO PULL OVER SO I CONTINUED DRIVING SLOWLY WHICH WAS VERY STRESSFUL. THE TIRE DID BLOW BUT I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF AT A REST AREA (THANK YOU JESUS). I CALLED AAA AND THEY SENT A FAMILY OWNED TOW TRUCK SERVICE OUT. THE MAN SAID I HAD A BULGE IN THE WHAT REMAINED AND TOWED MY VAN TO A WALMART 13 MILES AWAY IN CANTON, I OWED HIM AT THAT POINT $27 OUT OF POCKET FOR THE TOW. HE THEN DROVE ME TO A PET FRIENDLY BEST WESTERN BECAUSE I HAD MY DOG WITH ME. I SPENT APPOX. $120 FOR THE ROOM, PLUS MEAL OF APPROX. $21. THE NEXT DAY I GOT A RIDE FROM AN EMPLOYEE AT THE HOTEL TO WALMART, PAID $128.66 FOR A NEW TIRE, THEN LATER THAT WEEK BALANCING OF $40 AT DISCOUNT TIRE IN DALLAS, TX. BECAUSE WALMART COULD NOT BALANCE THE NEW TIRE DUE TO EQUIPMENT BEING BROKEN. I HAD ANOTHER TIRE GO BAD, WITH TREAD SHIFT A YEAR LATER IN ANOTHER CLAIM FILED WITH YOU. THE REMAINING TWO TIRES I LEFT AT WALMART, AFTER PURCHASING FOUR NEW MATCHING GOODYEAR I SPENT $312.66 ON 9/26/20. AFTER THE SECOND TIRE WENT BAD I CONTACTED JULIE AT COOPER CALL REF# 23-167554 AND WAS TOLD THE TIRES WERE UNDER WARRANTY AND TO RETURN THEM TO WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE WITH THE NEW COOPER'S ON IT WHICH WAS IN 2018. I DID AND WAS TOLD BY PAMELA CARTER THAT THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY BECAUSE AUTO NATION ORIGINALLY BOUGHT THE TIRES, BUT DID ADMIT THAT THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE. ALL BRAKE CALIPERS ARE DEFECTIVE THE PISTON SEIZES UP CAUSING THE BRAKES TO WEAR THE PADS OFF IN A SHORT TIME , OVERHEATING AND SEIZING UP THE WHEEL. THE MOST RECENT REPAIR ONLY HAD ABOUT 20,000 MILES ON THE BRAKES I HAVE REPLACED EVERY CALIPER, ROTOR, AND PADS ON ALL FOUR WHEELS THE MOST RECENT ONE WAS JUST TWO MONTHS AGO, NOW I AM BACK TO THE FIRST WHEEL AGAIN. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR WEAR BRAKES LIKE THIS SEVERAL DIFFERENT MECHANICS AT DIFFERENT GARAGES. THIS IS A DEFINITE DESIGN FLAW AND SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD. THE ONGOING REPAIRS ARE COSTING ME APPROXIMATELY 500. PER WHEEL EVERY OTHER YEAR OR SO AND PRECLUDES ME FROM USING THE VEHICLE TO TOW, WHICH IS WHY I BOUGHT IT.
