VEHICLE STALLS COMPLETELY WHILE IN MOTION (DRIVING, ABOUT 10-30 MPH). ELECTRICAL SHUTS OFF AT THE SAME TIME AS WELL AS POWER STEERING. CAR IS ABLE TO RESTART NORMALLY AFTER PUT BACK IN PARK. HAPPENED A SECOND TIME 30 SECONDS AFTER RESTARTING. HAVEN'T DRIVEN THE VEHICLE SINCE. DEALER FOUND NO ISSUES.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, several times, air bag, ABS, and battery warning lights illuminated before the vehicle stalled. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated normally for a while before the failure recurred. This keeps recurring in spite of changing alternator and battery twice in two months. Mechanics including an auto-electric technician from Northern Virginia were not able to pinpoint the exact cause. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage started at 143,000.
HI EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IT HAS BEEN MAKING THIS NOICE. EVERY TIME I TOOK IT TO A DEALER IT SAID THIS WAS NORMAL. NOW AFTER 8 YEARS AND OVER 100000 MILES IT HAS BECOME WORST. RECENTLY WHEN I ACCELERATE, VEHICLE DOES NOT SHIFT RPM AND INSTEAD IT ACCELERATES RPM BUT VEHICLE DOESN'T. I HAVE TO PARK TURN OFF VEHICLE AND START IGNITION WHERE IT SEEMS TO RESET AND PROBLEM GOES AWAY BUT ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME. CAN YOU PLEASE ASSIST? I RESIDE IN PR
MY VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY STALL WITHOUT ANY WARNING NOR ANY DASH LIGHTS SUCH AS CHECK ENGINE OR BATTERY DISPLAYING. MY LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP CHECKED THE VEHICLE OUT WITH A ODB AND COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. THIS ISSUE WILL HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AND IT APPEARS MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING A SIMILAR ISSUE ACCORDING TO ONLINE RESEARCH. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING ISSUE FOR A FEW MONTHS AND WE ARE UNABLE TO DRIVE IT NOR RESOLVE THE ISSUE SINCE WE (NOR DODGE MECHANICS) KNOW WHAT IS WRONG.

THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME MECHANIC WHERE THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED BY THIS INDEPENDENT MECHANIC A TOTAL OF EIGHT TIMES AND AFTER EACH REPAIR, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO KEY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM - TOBEY AUTO GROUP (2020 N DETROIT ST, XENIA, OH 45385) WHERE THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 61,000.*DT*JB
DRIVER REAR DOOR SLIDES OPEN AND CLOSES BY ITSELF. WORRIES THAT A KID MIGHT GET TRAPPED. NO ONE OPENS IT OR CLOSES IT. IT WON'T STOP CLOSING BY PUTTING FORCE TO STOP IT. ALWAYS DOES IT IN PARK WITH KEYS OFF. IN OR OUTSIDE VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING THE VAN IT RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY

BATTERY WAS DEAD IN AM 16HRS AFTER FULLY CHARGED BATTERY.3 BATTERY ALL DIE-BATTERY DISCONNECT USED STOP ABNORMALLY HIGH DRAINAGE . MANY BIZARRE ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS, BATTERY DRAIN NEVER FOUND AFTER TRUELY ADMIRABLE EFFORT. RUST RUST RUST -SAND BLAST ANTIRUST-MORE RUST RUST RUST TO FRAME-TOLD BATTERY AND MALFUNCTIONS DUE TO A SHORT SOMEWHERE. NO LOCAL COLISION PLACE WILL "FIX IT" DUE TO LIABILITY WHEN BRAND NEW STEEL IS NO MORE RUST PROOF THAN MANUFACTUERS. ONLY VEHICLE USE POWERCHAIR SAYS RUSTED FRAME MAY DROP ME. ELECTRICAL DRAIN CAUSE AND RUST CAUSE UNKNOWN DESPITE OVER 100 HRS OF WORK BY VMI ENGINEERS AND LOCAL VMI DEALER. WOULD BUY A HONDA OR TOYODA AND VERY BASIC MANUAL CONVERSION. IF ABLE GET SEAT COMES OUT AND JUST STRUGGLE TO GET IN. THE FANCY CONVERSION NOT WORTTH IT BETWEEN SO MANY UNKNOWNS. I COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT PRIVACY .ITS SAFETY FOR OTHERS .
FAULTY TIMP CAUSING ISSUE WITH FUEL PUMP MODULE/RELAY. FAULTY START AND UNABLE TO TURN ON VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 4 TIMES IN A PARKED POSITION WITHIN A 24 HOUR PERIOD BEFORE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER DRIVABLE. INTERMITTENT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITHIN THE PREVIOUS 3 WEEKS PRIOR. VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE.
YESTERDAY WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH AND APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION AT WHICH I WOULD NEED TO TURN OFF. THE ENGINE DIED WITHOUT ANY WARNING AT ALL. I LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BREAKS. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH TO NAVIGATE THE CORNER AND CAME SAFELY TO A STOP BUT HAD THIS HAPPED ON ONE OF THE WINDY SECTIONS OF HIGHWAY I COULD EASILY HAVE CRASHED. I TURNED THE KEY FULLY OFF AND THEN RESTARTED THE VAN AND CAREFULLY DROVE HOME. I NOTICED TODAY THAT IGNITION SWITCH DOES NOT ALWAYS SPRING SMOOTHLY BACK TO ITS RUN POSITION WHEN I START THE VEHICLE.
THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. WE ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE CARE ON IT JUST CRANKS AND WON'T KICK OVER. THE FUSE FOR THE FUEL PUMP HAS GONE BAD IN THE TIPM. AND THE CAR NOW STARTS INTERMITTENTLY. I NEED TO HAVE A RELY PUT IN.
OUR DODGE GRAND CARAVAN WAS STATIONARY AND EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEMS OVER A PERIOD OF MONTHS AND SOMETIMES WHEN IT DID START, IT WOULD STALL SHORTLY AFTER STARTING WHILE IN MOTION. FINALLY, IT WOULD NOT START AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS, WAITING ARE TRYING AGAIN. WE HAD IT TOWED TO OUR MECHANIC WHO TESTED IT AND FOUND THAT IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. HE SAID IT WAS COMMON TO MAY DODGE AND JEEP MODELS. THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME CIRCUIT BOARD. HE RECOMMENDED TAKING IT TO A DEALER FOR REPAIRS EVEN THOUGH IT HAD NOT YET BEEN RECALLED. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THEY HAD THE PARTS FOR THE FIX AND FIXED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY PROBLEM. THE REPAIR HAS A 2 YEAR WARRANTY. AN EMPLOYEE OF DEALER EXPRESSED THAT IT MAY BE 3 MONTHS FROM THE OCTOBER 8, 2020 REPAIR, BUT EVENTUALLY CHRYSLER WOULD ISSUE A RECALL SINCE SO MANY MODELS WITH THIS PART HAVE BEEN RECALLED. WE WERE ADVISED TO KEEP THE RECEIPT FOR LATER REIMBURSEMENT. IT IS NOW MARCH 14, 2021 AND NO RECALL HAS BEEN MADE FOR OUR VEHICLE. PLEASE TRY TO EXPEDITE THIS RECALL. THE NHTSA PROBABLY IS NOT GETTING MANY COMPLAINTS BECAUSE EVERYONE WITH THE PROBLEM EXPECTS IT TO BE HANDLED SOON. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.
LEFT SIDE PASSENGER DOOR STUCK CLOSED. DOOR WON'T UNLOCK OR OPEN, NEITHER AUTOMATICALLY NOR MANUALLY. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK.
VEHICLE WOULD START AND RUN THEN COUPLE MINUTES LATER IT WOULD JUST CRANK AND CRANK WITH A NO START. THE AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT WILL, WITH A LONG CRANK, IT WILL START.. ONCE VEHICLE IS RUNNING, IT RUNS GOOD UNTIL YOU SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. THEN IT JUST CRANKS AND CRANKS. SOMETIME BATTERY WOULD DIE FROM ALL THE CRANKING.. LET IT SET THEN CRANK AND IT STARTS AGAIN. SOMETIMES IT WON'T START FOR A DAY OR TWO. ALL TIME IT IS PARKED.
IN REGARDS TO COOPER TIRES THE MANUFACTURER INFO AND DOT NUMBER TO FOLLOW. I HAVE HAD TWO TIRES WITH FAILURE TO THE RADIAL BELT SHIFT. ONE TIRE BLEW OUT ON A TRIP TO TEXAS, I DO NOT HAVE IT, BUT THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAID IT HAD A "BULGE" AND FAILED. UNDER STRESSFUL CONDITIONS ON A HIGHWAY I DID NOT TAKE A PICTURE. THE SECOND TIRE FAILED LOCALLY AND I HAVE KEPT THE TIRE AND CAN SEND A PIC AND ALSO HAVE A STATEMENT ON THE RECEIPT FROM WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THAT HAD PUT THE TIRES ON SAYING IT WAS A "BELT SHIFT" THERE IS A PROMINENT "BULGE" IN THE TIRE. I HAD ORIGINALLY CONTACTED COOPER TIRES JULIE CALL REF # 23-167554 ON 9/23/20 11:02 AM, REGARDING THE DEFECTIVE TIRES AND THEY DENIED KNOWLEDGE OR RESPONSIBILITY AND TOLD ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO WHERE I BOUGHT IT WHICH WAS NISSAN AUTO NATION BECAUSE THEY WERE UNDER WARRANTY. AUTO NATION PAMELA CARTER SAID ON 9/24/20 THEY THAT THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY DUE TO THE FACT THEY PURCHASED THE TIRES AND I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AFTER THE TIRES WERE INSTALLED SO I WAS NOT THE PURCHASER. THEY DO ADMIT THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE, WHICH I HAVE IN WRITING ON INVOICE 1236567. I LOOKED ONLINE FOR THE DOT NUMBER FOR RECALL AND IT IS LISTED ONLINE BUT THE MANUFACTURER AS BRIDGESTONE, WHICH IS POSSIBLY A TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR. THE FRONT PASSENGER ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT (HEADREST) DEPLOYED WHILE THE VAN WAS JUST SITTING STATIONARY IN THE GARAGE, NOT FROM BEING REAR-ENDED LIKE IT'S DESIGNED.

THE CONTACT WAS QUOTED AN ESTIMATE OF $1,250 FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
I WENT TO UNLOCK MY VEHICLE TO GET SOMETHING FROM INSIDE. I NOTICED THAT THE LIGHTS WERE VERY DIM AND AFTER PLACING THE KEY FOB INTO THE IGNITION, THE FOB WAS LOCKED IN PLACE. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES, I WAS ABLE TO RELEASE IT FROM THE IGNITION. I HAVE TRIED RESETTING THE BATTERY AMONG OTHER THINGS AND NOTHING HAS HELPED.
THE VEHICLE EITHER WILL TAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START OR WILL COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN DURING OPERATION WITHOUT WARNING. THE ENGINE WILL ABRUPTLY STALL AND POWER BRAKES AND STEERING FAIL. IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARD THE VEHICLE BEHAVES AS IF THE KEY WAS JUST TURNED TO THE ON POSITION, MEANING THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP, AND IT CAN BE PUT IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED. NO SPECIFIC ACTIVITY TRIGGERS THE SHUTDOWN. IT CAN HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED IN ANY CONDITIONS OR WHILE IDLING.
I GOT AN OIL CHANGE AND AN INSPECTION THE INSPECTION REPORT WAS GOOD, NO MAJOR MECHANICAL ISSUES. ONLY RECOMMENDATION WAS A POWER STEERING FLUSH NEXT TIME I CAME IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I DROVE THE VAN HOME 1/2 MILE AWAY. I PARKED THE VAN. I SAW LIGHT SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. IT SMELLED LIKE BURNT RUBBER. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE BACK TO SHOP 1/4 MILE AWAY. THE VAN LOST ALL POWER AT A STOP SIGN. I SAW MORE DARKER SMOKE COMING OUT. I GOT OUT OF THE VAN IMMEDIATELY. WITHIN 2 MINUTES THE VANS FRONT END WAS IN FLAMES.
OUR HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. IT HIT MY HUSBAND IN BACK OF HEAD BUT NO REAL DAMAGE, HE JUST HAS SMALL BUMP. THE NOISE STARTLED ME BUT I WAS ABLE TO STAY ON ROAD.
I WAS DRIVING FINE WITH THE KIDS AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN I FEEL LIKE MY VAN WANTS TO SHUT DOWN ON ME WHILE DRIVING. WENT TO THE PARK ONE DAY AND WHEN CAME BACK WITH THE KIDS THE CAR WOULD NOT START... I FINALLY( AFTER SEVERAL TRIES) GET IT TO START AND GOT HOME SAFE, THANKFULLY. THE NEXT DAY I GO GROCERY SHOPPING AND CAME BACK, THE VAN WOULD NOT START! NOW, I'M FRUSTRATED WITH THE KIDS AND GROCERIES OUT IN THE HOT WEATHER. FINALLY GET IT TO START AND DROVE HOME HOPING TO GET THERE SAFE. FRUSTRATED THINKING CANNOT AFFORD A MECHANIC AT THIS TIME AS I RECENTLY REPLACED THE WATER PUMP AND THAT WASN'T CHEAP. GOT HOME! AND THE NEXT DAY IT WOULD NOT START CALLED ASSISTANCE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG AND EXPLAINED THAT IT WASN'T THE BATTERY NOR THE ALTERNATOR, THERE'S NO CODE AND THAT IT WAS POSSIBLY THE TIPM AND THAT WAS GOING TO BE ABOUT A $1,200 IF NOT MORE TO REPLACE. EXPLAINED THAT GRAND CHEROKEE AND OTHER DODGE CAR HAD RECALLED IT BUT NOT THE DODGE GRAN CARAVAN

ANOTHER DRIVER ASSISTED HER WITH THE BATTERY AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE HOME. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT STATED THAT MULTIPLE UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHILE ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000.

BATTERY WAS REPLACED AND TAKEN TO SHOP, THE AUTO TECHNICIAN ASSUMED BASED ON P0128 P0520 P0441 IT WAS GAS FUEL CAP, SWITCH OIL PRESSURE, HOUSING THERMOSTAT, GASKET INTAKE MANIFOLD THEY REPLACED O2 SENSORS VACUUM LINE READ A SENSOR WITH EVAPO SYSTEM CAUSING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A HOST OF OTHER ITEMS CHECKED GAS CAP TOTALED ME $779. CAR REFUSE TO STARTED NEXT MORNINGS FOR PASS TWO WEEKS EVERY MORNING SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START CAR AFTER PARKED OVERNIGHT NO START ONLY STALLING FIRST. THEN WAITED AN HOUR PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL SEE IF CAR STARTS IT DID. AFTER DRIVING THAT DAY WHILE DRIVING CAR ACCELERATION BEGAN TO GO FAST BY ITSELF ON A HIGHWAY THEN JERK RPM DROPPED DOWN WHILE DRIVING MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I THOUGHT MAYBE GEAR WAS OUT OF PLACE SO I LOOKED TO SEE IF IT WAS IN DRIVE, IT WAS IN DRIVE. WENT BACK TO AUTO SHOP THEY SAID SINCE CAR IS WORKING NOW CAN'T HOOK UP SYSTEM TO CHECK P CODES BECAUSE IT WON'T SHOW UP IF IT'S WORKING.TOLD ME DRIVE 60 MILES TO SEE PROB CONTINUE. NEXT MORNING CAR DIDN'T START, NO FUSE SIGNAL SHOWS. THEN CAR WAS DEAD ONE CLICK SOUND ,NO STALL. CALLED ROADSIDE ASSIST AND TRIED TO JUMP BATTERY. GUY SAID IT'S NOT BATTERY HE SAID IT'S THE FUEL PUMP. CONTACTED THE AUTO MECHANIC SPOKE WITH MGR OF SHOP AND SAID IT CAN BE A TIPM AND COST $1200. THIS IS A VERY UNSTABLE AND UNSAFE ISSUE MY FAMILY AND I DRIVE IN THIS VAN DON'T FEEL SAFE 2ND ISSUE CAR HESITATED TO STOP TWO MONTHS AGO WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKES TO STOP CAR WHILE DRIVING ON ROAD TO STOP AT RED LIGHT, NO STOP I HAD TO PUMP BRAKES AND I THOUGHT IT WAS BRAKES I PAID FOR REPLACEMENT OF BRAKES AND PADS AS WELL. THIS ELECTRICAL MODULE HAS BEEN THE CAUSE OF KNOWN INCIDENTS. IT CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS. THE VAN IS DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD. TIPM AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS CREATING UNSAFE BRAKING AND IGNITION FUEL CONDITIONS CAUSING MALFUNCTION
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY VAN LOST ALL POWER AND SHUT OFF. NO STEERING, NOTHING. WE PULLED OVER ON A RAMP PUTTING OUR CHILDREN'S LIVES AND OUR OWN IN DANGER, TO WALK HOME. THE TIPM SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM. THE VAN WILL NOT RESTART, WILL NOT CRANK, AND IS CURRENTLY SITTING WHILE I SEE ALL OF THE RECALL ATTEMPTS FOR TIPMS.

SOON AFTER THEY DID THE RECALLS MY CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE OFF THE LOT THEY TOLD ME THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS BAD AND IT WOULD COST $806 TO FIX IT. SO I TOLD THEM LETS DO IT. I GET A CALL AN THE SAID ITS THE TIPM ! $1400 DOLLARS LATER MY CAR IS STILL RUNNING PRETTY ROUGH AND NOT GETTING POWER AND COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. SO I CALL THE DEALER AND THEY TOW IT IN TO TELL ME IT IS MY FUEL PUMP. SO $800 THEY SAID ITS FIXED AND I SHOULD HAVE NOTHING GOING WRONG. 3 DAYS LATER MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND A CODE P0456 EVAC LEAK! SO I CALL THE DEALER AND LET THEM KNOW . I THEN PURCHASED A GAS CAP JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. LIGHT STAYED ON. SO I GET THE VAN TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAD MY VAN ALLDAY TO SAY ITS MY GAS CAP . LET ME REMIND YOU I JUST PURCHASED ONE. SO THEY GET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO GO OFF AND NOW EVERYTIME I FILL THE TANK UP GAS FUMES ARE SOO STRONG IN THE VEHICLE AND IS RUNNING VERY POORLY. HONESTLY IM SCARED TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT . I JUST WANT MY VAN SAFE I HAVE KIDS . ITS MY ONLY VEHICLE.

THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE 2016 AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WOULD BE $500 TO FIX IT. I AM NOW HAVING ISSUES WITH TRUNK OPENING AND CLOSING ON IT'S OWN; EVEN WHEN IT IS LOCKED. You have to either put it in Neutral or pull off the road and turn it off and it will crank right back up... It does this at any given time.. COULDNT MOVE THE LOCK. IT'S LIKE THE LOCKING MECHANISM GOT STUCK. CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR.
