TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PARKED THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE VEHICLE STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (FIELDS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM GLENVIEW LOCATED AT 2800 PATRIOT BLVD, GLENVIEW, IL 60026) WHERE IT WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE PULLING INTO A HANDICAP PARKING SPACE. THE CONTACT NOTICED FUEL LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE IN LARGE QUANTITIES AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED TO PUSH THE VEHICLE INTO THE PARKING SPACE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT A FUEL ODOR ENTERED THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE DIRECTLY AFTER THE FUEL TANK WAS FILLED. THE CONTACT SUFFERED FROM CHEMICAL SENSITIVITY AND WAS ILL DUE TO THE STRONG ODOR OF FUEL. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A VEHICLE MODIFICATION COMPANY MODIFIED THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A MOBILITY CENTER WAS ALSO MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 32,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE ODOR OF BURNING RUBBER WAS NOTICED AND SMOKE EMERGED FROM THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL BEARING FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE SAME MECHANIC FOR THE SAME FAILURE THREE MONTHS EARLIER. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. *JS
MY CAR STOPPED RUNNING. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO THE MECHANICS. THE ENGINE HAD TO BE REBUILT DUE TO ENGINE BLOCK DEBRIS. THIS IS A RECALL FOR 2012 GRAND CARAVANS BUT ONLY MANUFACTURED UNTIL AUG 2011. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN APRIL 2012. THE RECALL NUMBER IS L33. I HAVE SPENT $5,734 IN REPAIRS. I'VE WAITING IN HOPES DODGE WOULD EXTEND THE RECALL BUT THEY HAVE NOT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. KINGS DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (4486 KINGS WATER DR, CINCINNATI, OH 45249, (513) 683-3000) WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A CONSTANT LOSS OF POWER AND REDUCTION IN SPEED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: DP14004 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). IN ADDITION, PERTAINING TO THE NHTSA INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE TIPM, FUEL SYSTEM, AND/OR ENGINE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
MY 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN, WITH APPROX. 62,000 MILES, KEEP CUTTING WHEN I TRY TO START IT. THE DEALER SAYS IT THE TIPM, WHICH COSTS $1,638. THE VAN WILL START THEN CUT OFF. I HAD TO HAVE THE BATTERY CHARGED TWICE BEFORE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC.
WHILE IN MOTION AT LOW SPEED THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPS RUNNING. THE POWER STEERING SEIZES UP & I HAVE TO MANUALLY STEER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, WHEN I RESTART THE CAR. EACH TIME IT HAS HAPPENED, FORTUNATELY NO ONE HAS BEEN BEHIND ME. THE DEALERSHIP THAT WE PURCHASED IT FROM SAID THAT IT WAS A CAM SHAFT PROBLEM. AFTER PAYING $1000+ IN REPAIRS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, IT STILL CONTINUES TO HAPPEN.WE HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. I BROUGHT IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE & IT CONTINUES TO SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER THEN TOLD ME THAT IT IS ANOTHER CAM SHAFT & THEY HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHICH ONE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NO LONGER GOES ON & IT DOES NOT STORE CODES WHEN THIS HAPPENS. SEVERAL TIMES WE HAVE CONTACTED "CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARES" & THEY JUST TAKE DOWN OUR CONTACT INFO, REGISTER OUR PROBLEM & DO NOT FOLLOW UP. THIS IS A 2012 GRAND CARAVAN WITH APPROX. 92K+ MILES. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THIS PROBLEM.
WHILE IN MOTION AT LOW SPEED THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING AND COULD NOT BE IMMEDIATELY RESTARTED, UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE LANE OR OFF TO THE SHOULDER. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF CYCLING THE KEY FOB OFF AND ON THE VAN STARTED AGAIN. IT IS FORTUNATE THAT THIS OCCURRED IN A VERY RURAL AREA WITH NO TRAFFIC. THIS IS A 2012 GRAND CARAVAN WITH APPROX. 90K MILES. MY HUSBAND RESEARCHED SIMILAR FAILURES OTHER DRIVERS HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH THE GRAND CARAVAN, HE BELIEVES IT IS LIKELY A FAILING FUEL PUMP RELAY. HE READ THAT MANY OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES HAVING THE SAME RELAY SYSTEM HAVE BEEN RECALLED BUT APPARENTLY NOT THE GRAND CARAVAN AS WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL.
MY VAN WILL DIE AT TIMES GOING DOWN ROAD OR JUST NOT START, AFTER PARKING IT. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE AND STABILITY CONTROL FLASHES ON DASH. WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK. THEN IT MAY START RANDOMLY AND RUN FOR A FEW WEEKS OR COUPLE OF MONTHS AND DO SAME THING AGAIN. WE HAVE PUT NEW BRAKES, BATTERY, CHECKED FUEL PUMP, AND PUT NEW TIRES AND HAD CENSORS ON WHEELS CHECKED. STILL DOES NOT START. T
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL PULSATED AND FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE BRAKES AND FOUND THEM TO BE HOT. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,800.

THE CONTACT COASTED MOSTLY OFF THE HIGHWAY AND ONTO THE SHOULDER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AFTER A FEW MINUTES. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH T.I.P. MODULE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE INTERIOR AND HEAD LIGHTS START TO FLICKER AND EVENTUALLY GO COMPLETELY OUT. I HAVE 5 KIDS AND HAVE BEEN ALMOST HIT HEAD ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE IT HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING. I HAVE HAD TO SIT BESIDE THE ROAD FOR HOURS WAITING ON MY LIGHTS TO COME BACK ON AND SOMETIMES THEY NEVER HAVE. THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY AND DODGE WONT LISTEN TO ME. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND IT IS GETTING TO THE POINT THE CAR IS UNDRIVABLE. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE $1,400 TO REPAIR MODULE AND THAT IS WHY THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. RADIO JUST WENT OUT WENT TO AUDIO STORE REPAIRED TWO WEEKS LATER WENT OUT AGAIN. WENT SHOPPING ON MAY25,2018 CAME OUT OF STORE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START CALLED TOW TRUCK JUMPED STARTED VEHICLE I TOOK IT TO TIRE PLUS TOLD ME I NEEDED A BATTERY. REAR DEFROSTER LIGHT STARTED BLINKING COULD NOT SHUT IT OFF AND A/C WOULD NOT GO ON UNTIL THE DEFROSTER LIGHT WENT OFF BY IT SELF. CALLED AND MADE APPOINTMENT WITH CHRYSLER ON JUNE 18TH,2018 WENT TO KEEP APPOINTMENT VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. CALLED TOW TRUCK, JUMP STARTED VEHICLE TOOK IT TO CRYSTAL CHRYSLER DODGE. VEHICLE DIAGNOSES TIP-N WAS BAD. CHRYSLER HAD VEHICLE FROM JUNE 18 TO JUNE 25, 2018 A RENTAL CAR WAS EXCEPTED ON JUNE 22.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
BAD INGNITION MODULE. VAN TURNS RANDOMLY OFF BY IT SELF WHILE DRIVING. IF YOU PUSH ON THE FOB IN THE INGNITION IT WILL START TO RUN AGAIN. WHEN VAN TURNS OFF YOU LOSE CONTROL OF THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO COME TO A SAFE STOP. SAME ISSUES THAT DODGE RECALLED OTHER MODEL YEARS FOR BUT NOT THE GRAND CARAVAN. IT HAS OCCURED NUMEROUS TIMES TO US IN THIS VAN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. AFTER RECENTLY PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT PARKED IT IN THE GARAGE OVERNIGHT. UPON MOVING THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE GARAGE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ENGINE OIL LEAKED OUT ONTO THE GARAGE FLOOR. UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE OF THREE AREAS ON THE OIL PAN THAT WERE RUSTED AND HAD HOLES, WHICH ALLOWED ENGINE OIL TO LEAK FROM THE OIL PAN. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE OIL LEAK COULD CAUSE A FIRE AND INJURIES TO THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL OR WARRANTY FOR THE OIL PAN ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000. *TT
THE VAN CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. EEVERYTIME, I TRIED TO START IT, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAID "NO FUSE." I HAD IT LOOKED AT BY A MECHANIC AND HE SAID THAT MY ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY WERE DEAD. AFTER THEY WERE REPLACED, THE CAR STARTED UP AND I DROVE IT TO WORK. ON THE WAY TO WORK, WHILE THE CAR WAS DRIVING, ALL OF THE LIGHTS IN THE CAR WENT OUT AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL RESET ITSELF (DATE, TIME, AND TRIP COMPUTER) AFTER ABOUT 5 SECONDS. THIS REPEATED ITSELF EVERY 15 MINUTES OR SO, UNTIL THE CAR CUT OFF. I REFASTENED THE BATTERY CONNECTORS, GOT THE CAR A JUMP, AND IT STARTED TO RUN. I PARKED THE CAR. LATER, I GOT IN AND STARTED IT WITH NO PROBLEM. THE NEXT DAY, I WENT TO START THE CAR AND IT WOULDNT START. I GOT A JUMP AND IT STARTED UP AGAIN. DRIVING INTO WORK, THE CAR CUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREET. I HAD TO STEER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO GET TO SAFETY. THE WORST THING ABOUT IT ALL, IS THAT WHEN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILS, THE KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION, AND YOU CAN NOT SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL IF YOU NEED TO PUSH THE CAR OFF THE ROAD. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE REVIEWS ABOUT THIS CAR'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, BUT IT IS A DANGER TO EVERYONE ON THE ROAD FOR A CAR TO CONSISTENTLY HAVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, ESPECIALLY ONES THAT CAUSE IT TO CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE ANYONE GETS HURT.
THE VEHICLE STALLED AND STOPPED. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE OBDII TEST INDICATED TRANSMISSION PRESSURE, TSR SOLENOID, OR GEAR RATIO. THE DEALER SAID IT IS OUT OF WARRANY AND MAY REQUIRE TRANSMISSION REBUILD.
CALIPERS SEIZED UP GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY HAD TO STOP BACK RIGHT TIRE WAS SMOKING VAN IS IN THE SHOP BEING REPAIRED
NHTSA RECALL NUMBER P60 REFERENCE # 1228426 SUMMARY CHRYSLER GROUP LLC (CHRYSLER) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011-2014 CHRYSLER 300, DODGE CHARGER, CHALLENGER, AND DURANGO; AND 2012-2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE VEHICLES MANUFACTURED APRIL 22, 2010, TO JANUARY 2, 2014, AND EQUIPPED WITH A 3.6L ENGINE AND A 160 AMP ALTERNATOR. IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, THE ALTERNATOR MAY SUDDENLY FAIL. I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO ME; THIS SHOULD ALSO BE PART OF THIS RECALL. MY BATTERY LIGHT CAM ON AT A STOP AND GO LIGHT, 60 SECONDS LATTER, MY CAR STALLED BECAUSE OF DEAD BATTERY AND NON WORKING ALTERNATOR. 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN STALLED WHEN DRIVING AND I LOST THE STEERING.THIS CAN BE LIVE THREATENING!! NO CODES COME UP WHEN TRYING TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. MECHANIC TRIED TO DUPLICATE THE STALLING ISSUE BY DRIVING IT FOR A WEEK. NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. LOOKING AT FORUMS THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE. HOPEFULLY NOBODY WILL DIE FROM A STALLING ENGINE THAT LOOSES STEERING. WHEN PUT IN PARK IT TURNS BACK ON WITH NO ISSUES. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME NOW FOR THE THIRD TIME. AGAIN, THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT BEFORE SOMEONE DIES!!!!
MORE THEN A DOZEN TIMES OUR VEHICLE HAS COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION GOING STRAIGHT AT VARIOUS SPEEDS CAUSING LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND PUTTING US IN UNSAFE CONDITIONS. THE A/C WILL BLOW HOT AIR IN HALF THE VEHICLE AND THE RADIO HAS TURNED UP THE VOLUME TO FULL AND THE CONTROLS ARE INOPERATIVE TO TURN IT DOWN. I FEEL THE DEALER INTENTIONALLY DID NOT TELL US ABOUT THE KNOWN TIPM ISSUE AND TOLD US WE HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR WHICH WE DID WITH NO HELP IN CORRECTING THE ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR A FEW MONTHS. I DONT HAVE THE VEHICLE WITH ME AND AM GUESSING ON THE MILEAGE ALSO THIS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE DATES SO I ENTERED ONE OF THE RANDOM DATED BELOW.
4 HIGH QUALITY TIRES FROM GOODYEAR: 2 SOLD IN 2016 AND 2 SOLD IN 2017 FOR THE SAME VEHICLE FOUND TO HAVE THE RUBBER COMPOUND CRACKING AND SHOWING PREMATURE AGEING. ALL 4 TITRES SOLD, BALANCED AND INSTALLED BY GOODYEAR OUTLETS. TIRE 1) PURCHASED 03/12/2016 DOT#DAVRCUER PRODUCTION DATE 0515 (WEEK 5 OF 2015) TIRE 2) PURCHASED 03/12/2016 DOT# DAVRCUER PRODUCTION DATE 4314 (WEEK 43 OF 2014) TIRE 3) PURCHASED 01/15/2017 DOT# DAV8CUER PRODUCTION DATE 1715 !WEEK 17 OF 2015 TIRE 4) PURCHASED 01/15/2017 DOT# DAV8CUER PRODUCTION DATE 3814 (WEEK 38 OF 2014 THE TIRE MODEL IS 99H SL EAGLE LS2 VSB AND WERE MOUNTED ON A DODGE GRAND CARAVAN FOR FAMILY USE. WE WENT BACK TO THE ORIGINAL GOODYEAR DEALER CONCERNING THIS PROBLEM AND WERE TOLD THAT THE TIRES WERE SUFFERING FROM PREMATURE WEAR AND SHOULD BE CHANGED.THE RECOMMENDATION FROM THEM WAS TO CHANGE THE TIRE AFTER 4 YEARS. THE ISSUE IS THAT THE THE TIRES WERE ALREADY 2 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME OF BEING PURCHASED AS PREMIUM NEW TIRES AT A TOTAL COST OF $667.45. SO AFTER JUST 2 YEARS OF USE WE ARE FACED WITH THE CRACKING AND PREMATURE WEAR OF THE RUBBER COMPOUND CAUSING THE TIRE TO BECOME UNRELIABLE AND SUBJECT TO A PREMATURE FAILURE. WE ARE NOW REQUIRED FOR OUR OWN SAFETY AND THAT OF OTHER ROAD USERS TO PURCHASE 4 REPLACEMENT TIRES AT A COST OF $640.00 WHY ARE MAJOR TIRE MANUFACTURERS AND THEIR RETAILERS ALLOWED TO SELL TO THE PUBLIC OLD TIRES AS "NEW" ?.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REQUESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE BROUGHT IN UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.

NEVER OFF-ROAD AND NEVER MISSED A MAINTENANCE REQUIRED.NO CUSHION LIGHT BUT THERE IS A CODE AND A REPLACEMENT OR TRANSMISSION REBUILT IS REQUIRED, MY POOR FAMILY LOST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON THIS JOB. THE MECHANIC ENCOURAGED ME TO REPORT THIS VEHICLE DUE TO MANY SMELLER CARS FROM THE SAME TYPE AND MODEL WITH EXACT SAME TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. HE TOOK CARE OF MY CAR AND IT SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY ISSUES. IT APPEARS THAT I AM ONE OF MANY DODGE OWNERS WITH TIPM ISSUES. AT LEAST ONCE A DAY WHEN GOING TO START THE ENGINE, IT JUST CRANKS AND CRANKS BUT WON'T START. AFTER TURNING OFF THE KEY AND TRYING ONE OR TWO OR THREE MORE TIMES, IT WILL START. THE BATTERY IS BRAND NEW, AND THE STARTER IS GETTING PLENTY OF POWER. COMPARING MY EXPERIENCE WITH WHAT I'VE READ ONLINE, I FIRMLY BELIEVE THE ISSUE IS THE FUEL PUMP RELAY SWITCH IN THE TIPM. IT STARTED MONTHS AGO, AND HAS GOTTEN WORSE. MY WIFE DRIVES THIS VEHICLE THE MOST, VERY OFTEN WITH OUR KIDS INSIDE. WE JUST HAVE TO HOPE AND PRAY THAT IT WILL START AND NOT STRAND THEM SOMEWHERE. SO FAR, WE HAVE ONLY HAD ISSUES WHILE STATIONARY. THANK GOODNESS IT HASN'T SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AS MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE STATED. THIS IS WHY I FEEL IT IS AN IMPORTANT SAFETY ISSUE. WHAT IF IT WERE TO SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A FREEWAY OR WHILE CROSSING AN INTERSECTION? I FIND IT ABSURD THAT DODGE (OR FIAT CHRYSLER WHATEVER) WOULD LET THIS ISSUE GO WHILE HAVING KNOWLEDGE OF SO MANY TIPM ISSUES, EVEN WITH A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST THEM.
THE VEHICLE HAS 92,000 MILES AND WHEN TRAVELING LAST MONTH THE ALTERNATOR WENT OUT. WAS TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT FIXED IT THERE HAVE BEEN SOME ALTERNATORS RECALLED. WITH PARTS AND LABOR THE BILL WAS $797.77. THEY SAID OURS WAS NOT ON RECALL LIST. HOW DO I GET REIMBURSED FOR SURPRISE EXPENSE.
WHENEVER I TURN ON THE HIGH BEAMS THE VEHICLE HAS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. IT IS LIKE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS INITIALLY TURNED ON AND IT GOES THROUGH A ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSTICS TEST . THE INDICATOR LIGHTS/SOUNDS FLASH ON THE DASHBOARD. AS SOON AS I TURN THE HIGH BEAMS OFF AGAIN THE VEHICLE WORKS PROPERLY. THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO AFFECT THE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, BUT WHEN THIS HAPPENS I IMMEDIATELY TURN THE HIGH BEAMS OFF BECAUSE I DO NOT KNOW IF THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WILL AFFECT THE STEERING AND OR BRAKING. SO ANY TRUE IMPACT IS NOT KNOWN. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. I JUST DON'T USE MY HIGH-BEAMS FOR FEAR OF HAVING AN ACCIDENT. THE ISSUE CAN BE REPLICATED (STILL HAPPENS TODAY).
PO302 CYL2 MISFIRE CODE.CYLINDER HEAD PREVIOUSLY REPLACED UNDER SAME CODE. THIS TIME CAMSHAFT INTAKE AND EXHAUST , 16 ARM- VALUE AND 24 TAPPET VALVE LASH HAD TO BE REPLACED. CAR ONLY HAS 82,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS HAD TWO MAJOR ENGINE REPAIRS REQUIRED. CONDITION CAUSED BY THE ROLLER BEARINGS IN THE ROCKERS COMING APART. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. THIS REPAIR WAS $2180.94. MY MECHANIC AND I THINK IT IS ALL ONE RELATED ENGINE PROBLEM AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY.

WHEN WE FIST GOT THE VAN WE EXPERIENCED SOME ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES. THE DEALERSHIP WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF IT BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED AND WE WENT TO A RECOMMENDED MECHANIC. THEN THE FOLLOWING MONTHS WE HAD SOME ISSUES WITH THE MOTOR MOUNTS. ONCE AGAIN WE HAD TO REPLACE THEM AND THEN WE HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRONIC COMPUTER AND WE HAD TO RE-LEARN SOME OF THE ALREADY INSTALLED PROGRAMS. I WOULD LIKE FOR WHOEVER APPROVES THE RECALLS TO GO AHEAD AND APPROVE THE OTHER ISSUES BECAUSE FOR IT BEING A SIX YEAR OLD CAR IT DEFINITELY HAS MORE ISSUES THAN IT SHOULD.
