MY VAN HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A CYLINDER 5 MISS FIRE I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL INJECTOR, SPARK PLUGS, AND IGNITOR PLUGS. WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTS I HEAR A KNOCK IN THE MOTOR AND THE DOES NOT RUN SMOOTHLY. WHILE MOVING THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES STRUGGLES TO GAIN SPEED FROM A STOPPED POSITION. I HAVE NOTICED A REDUCTION IN MY FUEL MILEAGE SINCE THE ISSUE APPEARED. *TR
REAR LEFT SLIDING DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED IN LOCKED POSITION - TRAPPING REAR SEAT OCCUPANTS IN VEHICLE.
THE RIGHT SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS MAKING A BUZZING SOUND AFTER THE VEHICLE IS PUT INTO PARK AND THE DOORS UNLOCK.
Every time a door is unlocked and sometime locked a loud buzzing happens. It concerns me that the doors will malfunction and not act as they are supposed to which is a big concern with children in the vehicle.
THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK TO OPEN, TIME IS 2 WEEKS. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVE WAY. *TR
ONCE I RETURNED HOME AFTER THE STORE, I PULLED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOTICED NOT ALL LOCKS SOUNDED WHEN PARKING. I USED MY BUTTONS ON MY OVERHEAD TO OPEN MY 2 SIDE DOORS. THE RIGHT SIDE SLIDING DOOR OPENED FINE, BUT THE LEFT SLIDING DOOR WOULDNT OPEN. AS I WAS TRYING TO OPEN I NOTICED IT WASNT UNLOCKING. I TRIED EVERYTHING AND IT'S STILL STUCK. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR 2011 TO 2018 VAN'S, ACCORDING TO THE 100+ REVIEWS I READ ONLINE. WITH THIS PROBLEM I WAS UNABLE TO GET MY BABY OUT OF THE VAN AND HAD TO CRAWL THROUGH THE VAN TO GET HIM OUT. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN, WHAT IF THE CIRCUMSTANCES WERE DIFFERENT AND IT WAS AN EMERGENCY??? THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY FOR MY BABY OR ONE OF MY OTHER 3 CHILDREN. THIS IS A KNOWN CONCERN AND THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED BY DODGE UNTIL SOMETHING TRAGIC DOES HAPPEN. PLEASE FIX BEFORE THIS HAPPENS. ALSO ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO THE RIGHT BACKSEAT DOOR STARTED MAKING A STRANGE BUZZING NOISE EVERYTIME IT UNLOCKS. NOT SURE IF THIS IS CONNECTED BUT THIS IS ALSO A VERY COMMON ISSUE TOO. THANK YOU!
DRIVERS SIDE MANUAL SLIDING DOOR REMAINS LOCKED. CAN NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY OR ELECTRICALLY. SAFETY ISSUE, EGRESS NOT EASILY POSSIBLE.
DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK IN LOCK POSITION AND WILL NOT OPEN. OPENED FINE AND AFTER A 20 MINUTE CAR RIDE IT WAS THEN STUCK. I HAVE REVIEWED SEVERAL FORUMS REGARDING THIS SIMILAR PROBLEM, AND HAVE SEEN COUNTLESS REPORTS ON THE NAME ISSUE. WAS SITTING IN A DRI E THRU LINE AT THE PHARMACY. WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK TO HIT THE GAS THE VAN WOULD NOT MOVE AND AFTER ABOUT 2 SECONDS VAN JUMPED FORWARD. AFTER THAT I HEARD A LOUD WHINNING SOUND FROM THE ENGINE. THAT JUST GOT LOUDER. NOW VAN NOT SHIFTING. *TR

WHEN LOCKING THE CAR THERE IS A BUZZING SOUND FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT LOCK. AFTER IT IS LOCKED IT IS ABLE TO BE OPENED. I HAVE A 2012 DODGE CARAVAN AND IT HAS NEVER DONE THIS. THIS IS ISSUE IS CURRENT

DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR STUCK IN A LOCKED POSITION. INCIDENT OCCURRED 6 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE FROM DEALERSHIP ON 6/6/2020. *TR
AS I DRIVE IT AND PUT INTO STOP ON STOP LIGHT. THE BREAK DIDN'T ENGAGE. I HAD TO STEP ALL THE WAY OUT AND IT ENGAGE. IT FELT LIKE I LOST THE BRAKE FLUID . BUT THEN AFTER THAT.. WHEN THE GREEN LIGHT WENT ON.. THE VAN JUST OPERATED ITSELF JUST FINE. AFTER FEW MONTHS.. THE VAN STARTS OUT FINE BUT CANT BE DRIVEN. AS OF NOW WE MANAGED TO PARK IT IN BUSINESSES PLAZA. AND THE A/C FEELS LIKE OR SOUNDS LIKE ACTING UP. AND NOW, TOTALLY CANT BE DRIVEN . *TR
SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCK IS STUCK AND THE DOOR CAN NOT BE OPENED ELECTRONICALLY OR MANUALLY. PASSENGERS CAN BECOME TRAPPED AND UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY THIS HAPPENED IN A NON-EMERGENCY SITUATION AND THE CHILDREN WERE ABLE TO SLOWLY CLIMB OUT A DIFFERENT DOOR. *TR
MY 2016 DODGE CARAVAN FOR NO APPARENT REASON LOCKED THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR SLIDING DDOOR AND WILL NOT RELEASE. THIS COULD BE SERIOS SAFETY PROBLEM IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT
THE DRIVERS SIDE, SLIDING DOOR ACTUATOR STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THERE WAS NO WAY TO OPEN THE DOOR AT ALL. NOT FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. WE RESEARCHED ONLINE THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A HUGE PROBLEM THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT BUT REFUSES TO REMEDY. IN FACT, MANY PEOPLE SEEM TO HAVE THE PROBLEM AGAIN, EVEN USING THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE ACTUATOR. IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE THAT WOULD NOT ALLOW MY KIDS TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN ACCIDENT, FIRE, OTHER EMERGECY.
THE DRIVER'S REAR SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT OPEN WITH REMOTE OR MANUALLY AND I'M NOT HAPPY ABOUT BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY OF MY CHILD. *TR
THE ENGINE MAKES A VERY LOUD TAPPING/TICKING NOISE WHEN IDLING AND SLIGHT ACCELERATION. IT APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM THE TOP OF THE ENGINE, POSSIBLE A ROCKER ARM OR LIFTER. I HOPE THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. *TR
THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR MAKES AN AWFUL WHINING/GRINDING NOISE WHEN UNLOCKING AND LOCKING THE DOOR. IT APPEARS TO ALSO TRY AND OPEN AT TIMES WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT SEEMS VERY UNSAFE AND ALSO VERY OBNOXIOUS TO LISTEN TO. I AM AFRAID IT MAY NOT OPEN WHEN NEEDED OR WILL OPEN WHEN IT SHOULDN'T. *TR
HAD A WHINING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. AFTER ABOUT 1 OR 2 MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE WHINING GOT REAL LOUD AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR. I LET OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR AND IT NEVER DOWN SHIFTED OR UPSHIFTED. IT JUST COASTED. WENT TO ACCELERATE AND THE ENGINE JUST REVVED THE RPMS HIGH. EVENTUALLY COASTED TO A SPOT TO GET OFF THE ROAD. CAN SMELL TRANSMISSION FLUID. HAVE NO LEAKS. NOW IT WON'T DO ANYTHING TRANSMISSION WISE. THE VAN WILL START UP AND IDLE FINE. JUST NOTHING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
2016 DODGE CARAVAN WITH 53,000 MILES ON IT. BOTH SLIDING DOORS STOPPED WORKING. ONE WAS IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND ONE IN THE UNLOCKED POSITION. WE WERE ABLE TO GET THEM TO WORK BY PUSHING THE LOCK BUTTONS MANUALLY WHILE HITTING LOCK/ UNLOCK BUTTONS. NOW BOTH DOORS MAKE A LOUD BUZZING NOISE WHEN LOCKING AND UNLOCKING. WE BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY TELL US THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. DEALER WANTS $900 PER DOOR TO FIX. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THEY WILL GET STUCK AGAIN IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND WITH SMALL CHILDREN IN CAR SEATS THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND UNACCEPTABLE. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR POOR PRODUCTS. LAST VAN WE WILL EVER PURCHASE BY CHRYSLER OR DODGE. TOYOTA OR HONDA HERE WE COME!!! ALSO WHEN A VEHICLE CANT BE LOCKED WHO KNOW WHO IS HIDING INSIDE WHEN YOU GET OUT OF WORK. IT GETS DARK BY 5PM WHERE I LIVE.
THE DRIVER SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. IT APPEARS TO BE STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND ANY ATTEMPTS TO UNLOCK IT, EITHER WITH THE FOB, ALL DRIVER (DOOR & OVERHEAD) LOCK/OPEN BUTTONS, OR MANUALLY TRYING TO MOVE THE LOCK, FAIL TO RELEASE IT. THIS OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IN PARK, IN OUR DRIVEWAY, WHEN I PUSHED THE OVERHEAD "DOOR OPEN" BUTTON IN ORDER TO GET MY CHILDREN (2 WEEKS OLD AND 3 YEARS OLD) OUT OF THEIR CAR SEATS. THANKFULLY WE WERE NOT INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT REQUIRING IMMEDIATE EVACUATION AT THE TIME THAT THIS OCCURRED. STILL, I HAD TO GO IN VIA THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR, UNINSTALL MY NEWBORN INFANT'S CAR SEAT, AND LEAVE HER ON THE GROUND IN ORDER TO ACCESS MY TODDLER'S SEAT AND GET HIM OUT. I'M HORRIFIED TO THINK WHAT A DANGEROUS SITUATION THIS COULD BECOME IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, OR IF BOTH DOORS WERE TO FAIL. THIS HAS RENDERED THE VAN UNUSABLE FOR MY FAMILY, AS GETTING EVERYONE IN AND OUT QUICKLY AND SAFELY IS NOW IMPOSSIBLE. *TR
SLIDING DOOR LOCKS JAMMED AND NOT WORKING...STUCK. CAN'T OPEN THE DOOR MANUALLY EITHER. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE CAN'T GET KIDS OUT FROM THE BACK ESPECIALLY DURING EMERGENCY SITUATION. DODGE SHOULD RECALL ALL SLIDING DOOR ACTUATOR OR WHATEVER IS CAUSING THIS STUCK LOCK ON SLIDING DOORS TO OPEN. *TR
THE LEFT PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT OPEN ELECTRONICALLY OR MANUALLY. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE FOR PASSENGERS IN MIDDLE AND REAR SEATS. IT WAS REPAIRED ONCE BY A SHOP. RIGHT SIDE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR IS MAKING A BUZZING NOISE, SIGNALING THAT IT MAY GO NEXT.
Its a known common problem for the automatic doors to stop working. My driver side back door has stopped working and now is stuck shut where I cannot open. This is a huge safety issue since all exits fo not work and if I was in an accident and needed to get my kids out and that was th only door I was able to use then we would end up dead or in serious condition. This is a very expensive fix and from all the reviews I have read this is a very common problem!!!!
The hazardous roads symbol will light up on dash and then it will not allow me to use cruise control or shift the car out of park. I have to use the release button accessible from the hole in the dash to shift the car out of park when that hazardous road condition light is on. The hazardous road light will come on out of no where on a perfectly fine day and then mysteriously go off.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR IS LOCKED AND WILL NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY OR WITH BUTTONS. THE MANUAL LOCK ON DOOR IS STUCK AND WILL NOT MOVE. PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK MANUALLY OR WITH BUTTON. IT IS ALWAYS UNLOCKED. ALARM DOES NOT GO OFF WHEN THIS DOOR IS OPENED. PASSENGER DOOR LOCK DOES NOT UNLOCK WITH ANY BUTTON 80% OF THE TIME

I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE THE DAY I GOT IT FIRST IT WAS THE CADILLAC CONVERTER AND SOME OTHER PROBLEMS THAT I AM NOT A MECHANIC SO I REALLY DON'T KNOW BUT NOW THE TRANSMISSION IN THE VEHICLE ONLY HAVE A HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES. *TR
DRIVER SIDE SLIDER DOOR IS LOCKED SHUT AND I CANNOT OPEN IT. I BELIEVE THE ACTUATOR HAS GONE BAD. DODGE NEEDS TO STAND UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE REPAIR ON THIS. THERE ARE MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS ITEM. THE REPAIR COST IS WAY TOO MUCH CONSIDERING ALL THE COMPLAINTS. STAND UP AND TAKE OWNERSHIP FOR YOUR PRODUCTS. THAT IS THE BEST WAY TO EARN LOYALTY FROM BUYERS.
THE AUTOMATIC REAR SLIDING DOORS QUIT WORKING AND ARE STUCK CLOSED. THEY CAN'T BE OPENED WITH THE REMOTE, MANUALLY FROM THE INSIDE OR WITH THE INSIDE BUTTONS ON THE B PILLAR POST OR BY THE DRIVER FROM THE OVERHEAD DRIVER'S CONSOLE. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON AND VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR THESE VEHICLES. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY WARRANTY FROM DODGE BUT APPARENTLY IS NOT. THIS SHOULD BE A FACTOR RECALL DEALERSHIP FIX. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR SEIZED IN THE 'LOCKED' POSITION. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY AND HAD BEEN USED NORMALLY EARLIER IN THE DAY AND WITHOUT ISSUE. THE DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED MANUALLY FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE OR WITH ANY REMOTE OR INTERIOR BUTTON. HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO RESOLVE ISSUE.

DRIVER SIDE BACK SLIDING DOOR STUCK SHUT AND WILL NOT OPEN FROM HANDLE,REMOTE,OR FROM INSIDE ITS LIKE IT WON'T UNLOCK
I am writing today with a serious safety issue on our 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. Our van has rear power sliding doors and locks; recently the drivers side rear door has stopped sliding and will not unlock at all, either with the key or manually. APPARENTLY this is a WELL-KNOWN ISSUE ; the dealer has stated that they will take a look at a vehicle for repair but we will have to pay the $200 diagnostic fee and approximately $1300-1700 to have the door repaired. THIS IS A COMMON FACTORY DEFECT that is also a SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD . I have two young children; if I was hit on the passenger side of the vehicle, how could I possibly get my children out of the car safely? If it was simply a power vs. Manual door issue, we wouldn't mind. However, the door will NOT OPEN AT ALL!! Now the passengers side rear slide door is making really loud noises, . Loud enough to startle people walking by or in the van trying to get out. So, it is also about to go out and that will leave no way in to the side of the van where my children and elderly parents sit to get them out and it will be another $1300- $1700 to fix. Will it take the Death of a child for Dodge to issue a recall on the common problem? Even the repair tech at the dealer said that it happens all the time. This is not right and not safe for families. After a quick search I have found so many more people that have the same exact problem and Dodge still isn't willing to help. Please contact me if you need more information. Thank You
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WAS INOPERABLE AND NO LONGER OPERATED AS NEEDED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER THROUGH FACEBOOK ABOUT THE FAILURE AND WAS INFORMED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000.

LEFT REAR DOOR LOCK IS INOPERATIVE. DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH REMOTE (POWER LOCK) OR MANUALLY. ABOUT A MONTH AGO, THE POWER LOCK STARTED FAILING INTERMITTENTLY. AS OF 5/6/2020, THE LOCK IS FROZEN IN THE LOCKED POSITION. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE FROM MODEL YEARS 2010 FORWARD, LINKED TO A FAILED DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD IN THAT REAR PASSENGERS WILL HAVE GREAT DIFFICULTY EXITING THE VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. *TR
Door lock motors failed and or failing. Replace a couple.

TRANSMISSION IS DEAD AT 74640 MILES, LUCKILY IT DIED BEFORE ME GETTING ON THE TURNPIKE. I WAS AT A LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURN RED I WAS GOING TO GO AND A LOUD NOISE HAPPENED AND IT WOULDN'T GO FORWARD.
MY PASSENGERS REAR DOOR WAS NOT LOCKING WHETHER WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED, RUNNING, AND DRIVING. IF SOMEONE WAS TO ATTACK ME, OR MY FAMILY, I WOULD HAVE INSTINCTIVELY LOCKED THE DOOR. IT WOULD NOT HAVE HAD ANY EFFECT ON KEEPING PEOPLE OUT. IN MY RESEARCHING OF HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM, I DISCOVERED THAT THE MORE COMMON PROBLEM IS THAT THE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK CREATING A GREATER HAZARD FOR EMERGENCY EGRESS. THE PART IS RELATIVELY CHEAP, BUT IT IS A REAL BEAR TO REPLACE. PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF THE DODGE GRAND CARAVAN ARE MUCH EASIER TO REPAIR. (I.E., 2000-2008+?) AND CHEAPER TO REPAIR. HOWEVER, ON THE 2016 VERSION (2010-2020) ONE HAS TO DISASSEMBLE THE WHOLE INNER DOOR COSTING $600+ FOR A SIMPLE REPLACEMENT. RIGHT SLIDING DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK. NEITHER THE KEY FOB. OVERHEAD BUTTON, OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE NOR THE INSIDE MANUAL OR ELECTRIC BUTTON WILL ALLOW THE DOOR TO OPEN. BIG SAFETY HAZARD AS I TRANSPORT MY GRANDCHILDREN. I FIXED IT BY FORCING THE ACTUATOR CONNECTING ROD. HOWEVER, NOW THE LEFT SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK. *TR
