PASSENGER DOOR WONT LOCK OR OPEN ELECT. DRIVERS SIDE IS LOCKED AND WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL TOTALLY LOCKED A BIG SAFETY HAZARD THE ACUATORS ON BOTH DOORS ARE FAULTY AND ARE A BIG DANGER IF YOU CAN NOT GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR YEARS BY DODGE AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED . PLEASE RECALL THIS MAJOR PROBLEM THERE ARE THOUSANDS ON THE INTERNET THAT HAS SAME PROBLEM BOTH SLIDING DOORS THANK YOU
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR BECAME STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION. IT WILL NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY OR ELECTRICALLY WITH THE POWER LOCK BUTTON OR KEY FOB. THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A USED 2017 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN IN NOV 2020. I WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS INFORMED OF A SMALL OIL LEAK. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER HOUSING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET THE PART AT THIS TIME SAID THEY ARE NOT SURE WHEN IT WILL COME IN. MEANWHILE I AM DRIVING IN A VAN THAT IS STILL LEAKING AND TOLD JUST TO CHECK IT WEEKLY AND TO IT OFF IN THE MEANTIME. I'M NOT SURE IF YOU CAN HELP OUT IF I SHOULD DIRECT THIS TO YOU OR SOMEONE ELSE. I SAW THIS INFO ON NHTSA.GOV. ANY GUIDANCE HOW TO REPORT THIS ISSUE WOULD HELP. I HAVE SEEN VIDEOS THAT SAY THIS USUALLY OCCURS IF SOMEONE TORQUES THE FILTER TO TIGHT. THIS IS THE FIRST OIL CHANGE SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND THE LAST PAGE THAT DID THE OIL CHANGE WAS THE DEALERSHIP IN OCT 2020. I'M SO FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THE WARRANTY THE DEALERSHIP SOLD ME DOESN'T COVER THIS ISSUE. I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL EVEN BE RESOLVED. I DON'T WANT TO RISK THE LEAK GETTING WORSE AND I DON'T CATCH IT OR MY VAN CATCHING ON FIRE. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.
COULD MEAN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH. 2017 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK. THIS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT PREVENTS THE PASSENGERS IN THE BACK FROM EXITING QUICKLY IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. IN THE CASE OF PARENTS WITH CHILDREN IN CAR SEATS THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET THE CHILD OUT SAFELY.
PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK AND IS STUCK I LOCK MODE. I CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR.
My rear driver side door stopped opening. One day (without any cause) the door would not open or unlock. When I turned off the electric sliding feature, the door would not open manually either. For about 7 months (beginning of 2021) the driver side sliding door has been inoperable. When I researched the problem, I saw that this is a common issue with the vehicle. It is unsafe. I have 4 children who are passengers in this minivan. My decision to purchase this vehicle was based solely on the fact that I needed to transport children. In the event that we are in a collision, I'm afraid I will not be able to get to my children from that entire side of the vehicle. Due to the safety features of back seat windows that do not go down all the way, children would also not be able to escape the vehicle this way. There were no warning lights or signs about this issue. I would give permission for this vehicle's door to be inspected regarding this problem. I have not yet gotten a quote from a dealership to fix the problem, but I have read many other consumer quotes online. This should not be my expense to bear.
Both of my sliding passenger doors have become stuck closed due to failed lock actuators. (The doors do not open when placed in the "manual" option either. They cannot be opened in any way.) This happened a few years ago, but my vehicle was past the original warranty period for any repairs, and there were no recalls existing. Last spring (2025), I received notification of an extended warranty period to have this problem fixed. The issue is that my vehicle was not eligible because by that point it was over 100,000 miles. Doors not opening renders the vehicle unusable or unsafe for any passengers besides the front seat passenger. I bought my Dodge Grand Caravan to be a family car, and I can only have one child ride safely with me. In the event of a wreck, passengers would be trapped in the vehicle. I have submitted this concern before, and I have written to the warranty company associated with Dodge. Dodge recognizes this is a common safety problem with the vehicles, as evidenced by the extended warranty for this issue. However, this is not a warranty concern; it is a recall concern due to safety.
IN DEC, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WOULD DO LIKE GOING OVER SPEED TACKS, SHAKE, WHEN IT WAS BETWEEN 45 TO 60 MPH. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP FOR READING, THEY COULDN'T GET A GOOD READING, IT STOPPED. THEN I PAID EXTRA FOR THEM TO TAKE TRANSMISSION PAN OFF. TOLD I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THIS VEHICLE IS A 2017. THIS WAS DEC 2020. HAD TRANSMISSION DONE. ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. WHEN I CAME BACK , 180 MILES TO VISIT FAMILY, I HAD IT LOOKED AT AGAIN. SHOWING 6 COIL, MISFIRE. THE CAR HAD 85000 MILES. HAD THE 6 COIL REPLACED, ALL PLUGS AND WIRES. LEFT, DROVE 180 MILES , NEXT DAY LIGHT CAME ON. I WASN'T DRIVING THE CAR MUCH AND WAS COMING BACK , ENGINE LIGHT ON, CAR RAN FIND. NEXT DAY, WAS AT A RED LIGHT, GAVE GAS AND THE CAR SPUTTER LIKE IT WASN'T GETTING GAS AND WANTED TO DIED. I PUSH ON THE GAS PADDLE AND HURRIED TO GET TO MY DAD'S. HAD A READING SAYING IT WAS CATALYTIC CONVERTED. AFTER THE WEEKEND I TOOK IT TO MUFFLER SHOP. SAID IT WASN'T GIVING THEM THAT READING, BUT MISFIRE AND 6 COIL. TOOK TO A MECHANIC, HE REPLACE 6 COIL AND SAID PLUGS WHERE GOOD, THAT THEY WERE NEW. BUT, I DID NEED AN AIR FILTER. GOT CAR. FEW HOURS LATER, ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON. READING SHOWED COIL AND MISFIRE. GOING BACK TO MECHANIC, AGAIN. AFTER A RED LIGHT STOP, IT FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIED AS IF IT WASN'T GETTING GAS. I GAVE IT MORE GAS. THEY CHANGE EVERYTHING AGAIN, EVEN CROSS PARTS TO MAKE SURE. IT IDLES HARD IN PARK OR SITTING IN DRIVE. MORE GAS IT SEEMS TO DO OK. ALSO, ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER BUYING IT, HAD TO REPLACE BATTERY. 2013 WAS IN IT. SO, MUCH FOR WANTING TO RETIRE, THIS CAR HAS PUT ME INTO DEBT. I WISH I HAD STAYED WITH A TOYOTA. OWN 6 AND NEVER , COST ME MORE THAN REGULAR SERVICE. AND AGAIN, MISFIRE READING, COIL 6. WITHIN A MONTH ,TWICE ITS BEEN REPLACED AND PLUGS AND STILL BACK LIKE IT WAS. SINCE END OF DEC, BEEN IN SHOP 4 XS, SAME READING,SAME CRAP.
MY WIFE HIT A DEER GOING 70 MPH DRIVING NORTHBOUND ON I65 RIGHT AFTER CROSSING THE TENN. STATE LINE. THE DEER HIT THE FRONT CENTER AND PASSENGER FRONT OF THE VAN AND THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. THE AIRBAG LIGHTS CAME ON AND STAYED ON BUT THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. THE FENDER MOLDING WAS RIPPED APART, RADIATOR WAS PUSHED INTO THE THE ENGINE BLOCK, PASSENGER LIGHT WAS DEMOLISHED AND PUSHED IN TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, ALL THE ELECTRIC WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON EXCEPT THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THE FENDER WELL WAS PUSHED BACK 1/4 INCH AND IN 1 INCH INTO THE PASSENGER DOOR. A RED LIGHTNING BOLT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED RUNNING. TOW TRUCK CAME AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK.
DRIVER'S SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR WON'T OPEN. IT IS STUCK IN PLACE. THE LOCK WON'T LOCK OR UNLOCK. IT WAS WORKING ONE DAY AND THEN THE NEXT IT STOPPED. NOTHING IS BLOCKING ITS PATH.
Drivers side rear door wouldn't open by using buttons on key fob, buttons in vehicle or by manually opening it. The door unable to be opened. I had to take it to the dealer.
OUR 2017 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN GT SUFFERED A TORQUE CONVERTER FAILURE AT 63,095 MILES WHILE DRIVING IN GEAR AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, CREATING A WHINING SOUND WHILE MOVING UNTIL WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO A STOP, AND THEN SHUDDERING AND REVVING HIGH WITHOUT POWER WHILE WE MOVED IT BRIEFLY TO A SAFE LOCATION TO PARK IT FOR TOWING. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALER BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WAS INOPERATIVE. UPON DIAGNOSIS, DODGE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED TORQUE CONVERTOR HAD FAILED AND THAT THE MATERIAL FROM THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE DISASSEMBLED AND OVERHAULED TO REMOVE THE MATERIAL FROM THE TRANSMISSION. WE WERE VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE BEEN TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED AND NEAR A PARKING LOT THAT WE COULD PULL OF INTO AND IMMEDIATELY STOP THE VEHICLE, AS I HAD MY WIFE AND TWO CHILDREN IN THE CAR. DODGE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY EXTENDS TO 60,000 MILES AND DOES NOT COVER THIS REPAIR UNDER A WARRANTY REPAIR (3,095 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY).
REAR POWER SLIDING DOOR STUCK CLOSED. THE REAR POWER SLIDING DOOR APPEARS TO HAVE NO MANUAL METHOD OF OPENING. WHEN ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS FAIL THE PASSENGERS HAVE NO WAY OF FORCING OPEN. THE DEALERSHIP HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 2 DAYS BEFORE BEING ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR.
VEHICLE HAD PRIOR ISSUES OF STALLING WHEN STOPPED IN TRAFFIC WHICH RESULTED IN TRANSMISSION BEING REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN ON AT ALL AFTER JUST HAVING DRIVEN THE VEHICLE 30 MINUTES PRIOR. BOTH THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE IS 3 YEARS OLD AND HAS JUST UNDER 60,000 MILES.
DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM BUZZES WHEN LOCKING. IT MUST BE MANUALLY UNLOCKED TO OPEN DOOR.
SLIDING DOOR ON SIDE GOT STUCK AND IS STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION AND WON'T OPEN MANUALLY OR ELECTRONICALLY OR BY BUTTON. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
FOR NO REASON MY RIGHT SLIDING DOOR STARTED MAKING A BUZZING SOUND WHEN UNLOCKING IT. SO, NOW EVERY TIME I OPEN OR UNLOCK THE DOOR I HEAR THIS VERY LOUD BUZZING SOUND. I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS VERY COMMON WITH DODGE GRAND CARAVANS. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAS NEVER BEEN HIT IN THE SIDE. THIS STARTED IN THE FALL OF 2020 WHILE IN MY DRIVEWAY.
COOLING SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING, FREON WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY, REFILLED THEN EMPTY AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. RUNNING DEFROST OR HEAT MAKES THE CAR SMELL LIKE ELECTRIC FIRE.
I OWN A 2017 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN GT AND MY REAR SLIDING DRIVER SIDE DOOR JUST STOPPED WORKING FOR NO REASON. IT IS LOCKED IN POSITION AND THE DOOR WON'T OPEN. I GOT IN THE VEHICLE ONE MORNING AND WHILE WARMING IT UP I WENT TO OPEN THE DOOR AND IT JUST WOULD NOT OPEN. SO I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE VAN AT AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND TOLD ME THAT THE LEFT SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR IS BROKEN.
ARRIVING HOME FROM A DR. APPOINTMENT THE DOOR DIRECTLY BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT QUICK WORKING COMPLETELY. THERE WAS/IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY OF OPENING THIS DOOR. THE PASSENGER IN THAT SEAT WAS A 92 YEAR OLD MAN WHO HAD EXTREME DIFFICULTY EXITING IN AN ALTERNATIVE MANNER THROUGH THE DOOR BEHIND THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. FORTUNATELY IT ONLY CAUSED HIM PAIN AND DISCOMFORT FOR A FEW DAYS. THIS PRESENTS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD IN THE EVENT OF AND ACCIDENT / FIRE AND THE OCCUPANT IS UNABLE TO ESCAPE. PLEASE RECALL ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS ISSUE.
THE ACTUATOR ON THE SLIDING BACK DOOR HAS STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. THE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK OR OPEN, CAUSING A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THIS COULD POTENTIALLY TRAP ME OR MY FAMILY IN THE CAR DURING A FIRE OR WRECK. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, IT IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR DOGE CARAVANS, YET DODGE REFUSES TO RECALL THESE FAULTY ACTUATORS. THE REPAIR RUNS UPWARDS OF $1000 TO $1500, NOT SOMETHING MANY PEOPLE CAN AFFORD. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT CONSUMERS SHOULDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS SINCE DODGE IS KNOWINGLY INSTALLING FAULTY ACTUATORS. THIS COULD CAUSE SOMEONE'S DEATH IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THEIR CAR DURING AN EMERGENCY. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT IT.
The contact owns a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the rear driver’s side sliding door would not open manually or electronically. Additionally, the door failed to lock securely. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rod in the door was loose and needed to be replaced. The rod clips were replaced however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
THE TEMP CONTROL PANEL TURNED ON BY ITSELF, I CAN SHUT IT OFF AND IT WILL COME BACK ON. I CAN TURN IT DOWN AND IT WILL TURN THE FAN ON FULL POWER AGAIN AUTOMATICALLY. I HAVE A 3 MINUTE VIDEO OF IT HAPPENING ALL ON ITS OWN.

AFTER I HAD CLOSED THE PASSENGER DOOR THE HEADREST POPPED APART. I KNOW THAT IT IS A SAFETY FEATURE AND ONLY GOES OFF IF THERE IS AN IMPACT. THERE WERE ZERO IMPACTS OR ACCIDENTS. THERE WAS A PARKED CAR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BUT NO ONE WAS IN IT.
The passenger side electronic locks stopped working and will not allow the doors to open. Passengers could be trapped in car and unable to be removed from inside
MY HUSBAND PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE. HE PLACED THE CARAVAN IN PARK AND LEFT IT RUNNING. I HAD TO RUN INTO THE RESTAURANT TO GRAB THE PIZZA. MY VAN SHUT OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON . I COULDN'T STEER IT AND THE BRAKES WOULDN'T WORK . TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON AND IT DID . I HAVE A BRAND NEW BATTERY ON THERE .
PASSANGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCK IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSOTION. IT WILL NOT UNLOCK MANUELLY, KEY FOB OR USING THE UNLOCK BUTTONS IN HT FRONT OF THE VAN.
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE EITHER MANUALLY, BY KEY FOB, OR INSIDE BUTTONS.
The drivers side rear passenger sliding door is stuck in lock mode. The locking mechanism is stuck shut and cannot be unlocked either manually or with the remote unlock button. Therefore the door is stuck closed and can not open. It’s dangerous that any backseat passenger cannot exit the vehicle through that door if they need to. Also, the passenger side door does not lock or unlock with the remote; it only locks and unlocks when the locking mechanism on the door is pushed manually. When the alarm is turned on with the remote, pulling this door open manually sets off the alarm when the door is pulled open. There were no warning lights or indicators set off prior to these issues. These issues manifested in September 2020.
DOOR STUCK IN LOCKED POSITION, 78000 MILES. CAN NOT MANUALLY UNLOCK OR UNLOCK WITH AUTOMATIC OPENER.
THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR ACTUATOR HAS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION. I AM UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR, AND IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT OR FIRE, I WOULD HAVE TO GO AROUND TO THE OTHER SIDE TO GET MY INFANT OUT OF HER CAR SEAT.*DT
The door lock actuator on the sliding drivers side door is making a loud buzzing sound when the doors are locked and unlocked. The door lock actuator on the passenger side sliding door has quit working.
EVERYTIME I UNLOCK THE DOOR OR OPEN THE DOOR (SLIDING LEFT PASSENGER DOOR IN THE BACKSEAT) IT MAKES A LOUD BUZZING NOISE. IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING LOUDER AND LOUDER AND IS SO LOUD IT IS A DISTRACTION AND CAN BE HEARD FROM OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE.
MY DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR IS STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION. I CAN'T UN LOCK IT MANUALLY, I CAN'T UN LOCK IT WITH THE KEY FOB OR THE PANEL BUTTON ON THE ROOF. THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IF I'M IN AN ACCIDENT MY KIDS COULD BECOME TRAPPED BECAUSE I CAN'T OPEN THE DOOR.
I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE SINCE LITERALLY 1 YEAR 6 MONTHS AGO THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR STOPPED LOCKING/UNLOCKING I SEARCHED FOR ANSWERS ONLINE AND FOUND FORUMS WITH THIS DOOR ACTUATOR ISSUE I SEE IT AS A HAZARD BECAUSE DUE BELOW AVERAGE USE IT WENT OUT WHAT IF THE OTHER 1 GOES OUT THEN I LOSE ACCESS TO THE REAR OF MY VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY OR ANYTHING MOST PEOPLE SAYS IT'S AT LEAST $650 FIX WHICH IS 2 MONTHS WORTH OF CAR PAYMENTS I CAN'T AFFORD
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY,, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT. ALSO, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT COME OUT OF THE PARK POSITION AND THE BRAKE PEDAL COULD NOT BE USED TO CANCEL THE CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN THIS WAS INVESTIGATED IT WAS FOUND THE BRAKE SWITCH/CIRCUIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR STUCK SHUT WITH MY MOM IN THE SEAT, SHE IS HIGHLY CLAUSTROPHOBIC, SHE ALMOST HAD A PANIC ATTACK BY THE TIME WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE OTHER SIDE UNLOADED SO SHE COULD SLIDE OUT OF THE BACK SEAT. THIS WAS A SERIOUS HEALTH ISSUE FOR MY 76 YEAR OLD MOTHER, WHAT IF BOTH SIDES HAD STUCK SHUT, SHE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE HAD A HEART ATTACK BEFORE WE WERE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET HER OUT. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND NOW. DOOR STILL STUCK LOCKED SHUT AND THERE WAS NO WARNING WHEN IT HAPPENED, IT JUST DID. SHE IS SCARED TO RIDE IN MY VEHICLE NOW BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T WANT TO BE STUCK INSIDE AGAIN.
BUZZING NOISE FROM PASSENGER RIGHT SIDE DOOR WHEN UNLOCKING VEHICLES
THE DRIVE SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM GETS STUCK AND WILL NOT OPEN, CLOSE, OR UNLOCK CORRECTLY, PRESENTING A SAFETY ISSUE IF SOMETHING WERE TO HAPPEN AND YOU COULD NOT GET OUT QUICKLY AND SAFELY. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE DOOR WORKING PROPERLY IS TO HOLD DOWN THE MANUAL LOCK AND PRESS THE BUTTON ON THE FOB TO OPEN THE DOOR AT THE SAME TIME. IT WILL WORK FINE FOR A BIT BUT THEN THE SAME ISSUE WILL HAPPEN. THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO BE AN ISOLATED INCIDENT IN READING ONLINE REPORTS.
DOORS WON'T OPEN OR UNLOCK WITH KEY FOB, ROOF PANEL BUTTONS OR MANUALLY. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY. BACK SLIDING DOORS WILL ALSO RANDOMLY OPEN WHEN VAN IS PARKED AND TURNED OFF.
SMELL OF GAS EMITTING FROM UNDER VEHICLE. WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND WINDOWS UP, IT CAN BE SMELLED, WHEN PARKED AFTER DRIVING CAN SMELL GAS ALL THE WAY AROUND THE VEHICLE, WHEN IDLE TO COOL OFF INTERIOR. FUEL CAN BE SMELLED ON FIRST APPROACH. MY WIFE AND KIDS HAVE ALL SMELLED IT IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS OF VEHICLE
THE FRONT LOCKS FOR FOR THE TWO FRONT DOORS DOES NOT LOCK PROPERLY. THE LATCHING LOCK MECHANISM DOES NOT ENGAGE. THE ALARM WILL SET AND GO OFF IF EITHER OF THE DOORS IS OPENED BUT THEY ARE NOT LOCKED. WHEN DRIVING AND THE SPEED GOES OVER 25MPH THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE AND LOCK THE VEHICLE. I WILL INVESTIGATE FURTHER TO SEE IF THERE IS A PART IN NEED OF REPLACING.

The vehicle passage side sliding door will not open. I called the dealer and they said about $3000 dollars to repair the problem with the door. If there is a accident it will slow for the person the passage side to get out of the vehicle. Before the warranty ran out I had the car in the shop twice about the door slowly opening.

IF I WAS IN A ACCIDENT OR ANYTHING AND NEEDED TO GET THAT DOOR OPEN I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET MY CHILDREN OUT OF THE CAR. IF THE OTHER DOOR BREAKS I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO USE MY CAR AT ALL. I'M EXTREMELY WORRIED ABOUT NEEDED THAT DOOR AND NOT BEING ABLE TO AND SOMETHING HAPPENING TO MY CHILDREN. I CALLED DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY TOLD ME I WAS OUT OF LUCK AND WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT TO GET FIXED MY SELF. I WOULD NEED TO FIRST PAY FOR THE DEALER TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS AND PAY AROUND 1,000 DOLLARS FOR IT TO BE FIXED. I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS HAPPENED TO VANS. PLEASE HELP WITH PROBLEM MANY FAMILIES IN DANGER WITH THESE DOOR NOT OPENING AT ALL. I'M TERRIFIED FOR MY CHILDREN WITH THIS DOOR NOT OPENING AT ALL. *TR
