THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WAITING LIST FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS EXCESSIVELY LONG. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE DELAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. HAD THE BATTERY CHANGED BUT 3 DAYS LATER VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. HAD THE STARTER CHANGED BUT 2 DAYS LATER VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN OVER. IGNITION JUST MAKE S A CLICKING SOUND. MECHANIC CLAIMS '09 JOURNEY ARE NOTORIOUS FOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND WILL REPLACE THE STARTER AGAIN ALTHOUGH HE DOUBTS THAT WILL HELP. UNFORTUNATELY MY WIFE DRIVES THIS VEHICLE WITH 4 CHILDREN. I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT HER GETTING IN A BAD SITUATION ON THE ROAD. VEHICLE GAS ALREADY HAD MULTIPLE RECALLS OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS. WHAT CAN I DO? I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO MY NORMAL MECHAINC BECAUSE THE TAILLIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT & I HAVE A BAS LIGHT THAT KEEPS COMING ON WHICH WHEN ON MEANS I CAN'T UE THE CRUISE CONTROL. I'M ALSO HAVING ISSUES WITH THE IGNITION WHERE IT SOMETIMES WON'T START, JUST CLICKS & WHEN THAT OCCURS YOU HAVE TO PUT IT IN GEAR TAKE IT OUT & THEN IT'LL START UP. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THE TAILIGHT & ALL THE OTHER ISSUES CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO A BAD PCM & I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. AS I INVESTIGATED THESE ISSUES I NOTICED THAT MOST OF THESE ELECTRICAL ISSUES ARE BEING POSTED AS RECALLED ITEMS, BUT WHEN I CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP & DODGE DIRECTLY THEY TELL ME NO. HOW CAN ALL OF THE SAME THINGS THAT ARE BEING RECALLED BE HAPPENING WITH MY VEHICLE & NONE OF THAT BE RECALLED WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE? *TR

IN ADDITION, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS DIMMED AND FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE DEALER STATED THAT MOISTURE AND CONDENSATION INSIDE OF THE WIRING HARNESS CAUSED THE WIRES TO BECOME CORRODED. AS A RESULT, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,600.

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AIRBAG CAME ON. AFTER SCANN APPEARS THE O.R.C. MODULE IS DEFECTED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NAPLETON SOUTH ORLANDO AND WAS INFORM THAT IT HAVE TO BE REPLACE AT MY OWN EXPENSE. I SEARCH TECHNICALL BULLETINS AND APPARENTLY VEHICLES FOR THAT SAME YEAR HAD A RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT IF THE RECALL MADE BY CHRYSLER/DODGE INCLUDES MINE. THERE ARE MANY RECALLS FOR DIFFERENT REASONS FOR THAT SAME REASON TO SIMILAR VEHICLES OF THE SAME YEAR AND THOSE PARTS WERE USE ON THEM IS MINE INCLUDED IN ONE OF THOSE RECALLS. *TR

7/10/14CAR SHUT OFF, COULDN'T STEER OR USE BRAKES. ETC LIGHT CAME ON. READ MANUAL AND FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS. 7/11/2014VEHICLE BEHAVIOR REPEATED. TOWED TO DODGE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. NEXT DAY SAME THING HAPPENED. TOWED TO DODGE DEALER AGAIN...ETC REPLACED. 8/3/2014 HAPPENED ALL OVER AGAIN. CAR AT DODGE DEALERSHIP. STRANDED WITH YOUNG KIDS IN CAR IS SCARY AND FRUSTRATING ENOUGH BUT TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN THREE TIMES IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS? THANK GOD FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AT LEAST. *TR
ON MANY DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHEN GOING TO START THE CAR THE LIGHTS, RADIO ETC ALL WORKED BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THIS WOULD HAPPEN PERIODICALLY THEN MORE FREQUENT AS TIME WENT ON. AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. AT ONE POINT I BECAME STRANDED IN A PARKING LOT WITH MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR BECAUSE AGAIN THE CAR WOULD NOT START. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS A MODULE WAS THOUGHT TO BE THE PROBLEM AND WAS REPLACED. THREE DAYS LATER I BECAME STRANDED AGAIN AT A GAS STATION AGAIN WITH MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. MY CAR WAS AGAIN TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS SOON INFORMED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM AND HAD CONTACTED CHRYSLER. CHRYSLER HAD SUGGESTED REPLACING THE STARTER. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED PROBLEM. I FIND THAT THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM DO TO THE UNPREDICTABLE NO START PROBLEM. LEAVING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS STRANDED. *TR
I'M WRITING TO COMPLAIN THAT MY 2009 DODGE JOURNEY HAS BEEN ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH.THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. DESPITE THE FACT THIS REPRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD AND THIS RECALL WAS INITIATED ALMOST 7 MONTHS AGO, CHRYSLER STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY PARTS TO MAKE THE REPAIR. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS AND THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION OR CAN OFFER AN ALTERNATIVE TO DRIVING THIS DANGEROUS VEHICLE. WE DON'T HAVE THE OPTION TO STOP USING THE JOURNEY. WHAT RESPONSIBILITY DOES CHRYSLER HAVE TO MAKE THESE IGNITION PARTS AVAILABLE IN EXPEDITIOUS MANNER? I WOULD ASSUME THERE MUST BE A TIME LIMIT TO MAKE THESE RECALL REPAIRS. EVERY DAY I DRIVE THE JOURNEY IS LIKE DRIVING A BOMB-YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL GO OFF. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I'VE COMPLETED A COMPLAINT FORM BEFORE (EARLIER THIS YEAR) REGARDING SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE. SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR THE ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE HAS NEVER BEEN FIXED. WHEN STARTING THE CAR THE ENGINE WILL NOT TURN OVER TO START. SOME TIMES WHEN TURNING THE KEY FOB THE ENGINE HAS NO SOUND AND THERE ARE NO LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD. OTHER TIMES THE ENGINE WILL CLICK 5 - 10 TIMES BEFORE FINALLY STARTING. THERE IS ALSO ISSUES WITH THE BATTERY. SINCE 2008 THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED 5 OR 6 TIMES - SOMETHING IS DRAINING THE BATTERY. I'VE BROUGHT THE CAR TO 2 SEPARATE DEALERS AND A MECHANIC FOR THESE ISSUES. THE DEALERSHIPS COULD NOT FIND WHY THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING. THE MECHANIC THINKS ITS THE ALTERNATOR OR STARTER OR DEFINITELY SOMETHING BETWEEN THE IGNITION SWITCH AND THE ENGINE. *JS
FOR ALMOST A YEAR THE DOESN'T START WHEN IT DOESN'T WANT TO I GET IN THE CAR AND EVERYTHING LIGHTS UP AND THE ENGINE JUST CLICKS I'VE HAD THE STARTER REPLACED THE BATTERY THE SOME MODULE WITH NEW KEYS THE SHIFTER AND NOTHING HAS HELPED IM AT A LOSS THE CAR HAS BEEN TOWED MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT I'VE BEEN STUCK WITH MY CHILDREN IN DARK PARKING LOTS FAR FROM HOME IT HAPPENS WAY TO MUCH AND THE FACT THAT THEY CANT FIX THIS PROBLEM IS RIDICULOUS NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS I HAVE NOW BEEN IN A RENTAL FOR 3 WEEKS IM SICK OVER THIS I LOST MY CAR IN SANDY AND BOUGHT THIS STUPID ONE TO REPLACE THAT AND NOW IM TRYING TO FIX MY HOME AND A CAR I PAY CASH FOR. *TR
HAD BEEN INTERMITTENTLY SEEING WHITE SMOKE COME FROM UNDER THE HOOD OR FRONT UNDERCARRIAGE OF VEHICLE. NO CAUSE VISIBLE TO THE EYE WAS FOUND. ON DATE IN QUESTION, ENGINE AREA CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED. VEHICLE TOWED TO COLLISION SHOP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT TRANSFER CASE/ PUA UNIT WAS "BAD" AND CRACKED. NO COLLISION OR EXTERNAL DAMAGE CAUSED IT. PART SIMPLY CRACKED FOR AN UNKNOWN REASON ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER COLLISION/BODY SHOP. DAMAGE NOT COVERED BY AUTO INSURANCE BECAUSE IT WAS SPONTANEOUS. FRONT END OF VEHICLE PULLS, IGNITION STALLS, ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, BRAKES (PADS, ROTORS & OFTEN CALIPERS) & TIRES MUST BE REPLACED EVERY 4-6 MONTHS. UPON REGULAR MAINTENANCE INSPECTION THERE IS NO SIGN OF PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES & TIRES BUT FULL REPLACEMENT IS USUALLY REQUIRED WITHIN SEVERAL WEEKS OF INSPECTION. *TR
THE ORC MODULE WENT OUT THAT CONTROLS THE SAFETY FEATURES OF MY VEHICLE. FOR EXAMPLE, AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELTS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY @ ABOUT 70 MPH SUDDENLY THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND THERE WAS NO POWER. WHILE I WAS TRYING TO MERGE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY( I HAD TO CROSS 3 LANE, I WAS ALMOST HIT BY MULTIPLE CARS. I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE CAR. I MANAGED TO GET OFF TO THE SIDE OFF THE FREEWAY AND HAPPENED TO LOOK DOWN TO SEE THE IGNITION KEY TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION. I DONT HAVE ANY OTHER KEYS ATTACHED TO IT BECAUSE I HAD JUST HAD THE STARTER REPLACED MAYBE 1 WEEK BEFORE & WAS ADVISED NOT TO. I STARTED THE CAR THINKING MAYBE IT WAS A FREAK THING AND IT WOULDNT HAPPEN AGAIN. IT DID 2 DAYS LATER. THIS TIME I WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION TURNING LEFT ON A GREEN ARROW. JUST AS I STARTED TO TURN THE CAR TURNED OFF MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN AND BARELY MISSED A GROUP OF PEOPLE ON THE SIDEWALK WHERE MY CAR ENDED UP BEFORE STOPPING. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE SERVICE CENTER THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM. THIS WAS NOT A DODGE, CHRYSLER, OR JEEP DEALERSHIP EITHER. I WAS TOLD THAT RWI MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED AND IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY AND DODGE WOULD NOT COVER IT EITHER. WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING REPAIRED I CAME ACROSS RECALL L25. BUT WAS TOLD MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CAR WAS IN THE REPAIR SHOP FOR 5 DAYS. IT COST ME OVER $600. THE DAY I PICKED THE CAR UP I CAME ACROSS DOCUMENTATION OF THE EXPANSION TO THE L25. I WAS THEN AGAIN TOLD THE VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL & AN INVESTIGATION WAS BEING DONE AND EVENTUALLY THE VIN WOULD BE IN THE RECALL BUT I COULD NOT BE GIVEN A DATE AS TO WHEN THIS WOULD HAPPEN. I CALLED DODGE CORPORATE OFFICES AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. I FEEL LIKE I OWN A COFFIN ON WHEELS. . ALL IN ALL I HAVE HAD THIS CAR IN FOR REPAIR FOR THE KEY TURNING TO THE OFF POSITION 3 TIMES NOW. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED IN A CRASH BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECTIVE PART. *TR
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE IN 2014. NOTIFIED DEALER IN ELIZABETH CITY, NC PROMPTLY, AS INSTRUCTED. THEY INFORMED ME THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND WOULD CONTACT ME ASAP. I HAVE CHECKED BACK WITH THEM SEVERAL TIMES IN 2014 AND NOW 2015 WITH NO EXPECTED DATE OF REPAIR. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AS I DRIVE LONG DISTANCES.
