CAR FAILS TO START RANDOMLY AND CONSISTENTLY. I'VE SEEN NOTHING BUT ISSUES ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS AND NOTHING HAS EVER BEEN ANSWERED. PEOPLE SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO NOT EVEN BE TOLD WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE.
MY 2009 DODGE JOURNEY WOULD NOT TURN ON AFTER AWHILE THAT I HAVE BEEN USING IT.I WOULD USE IT THEN TURN IT OFF AND IT WONT TURN BACK ON UNTILL A WHILE THAT YOU LEAVE IT ALONE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY THE VEHICLE DID NOT START WHEN CRANKED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER THE CONSEQUENCE WAS UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE SPORADICALLY THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT START WHEN THE KEY WAS INSERTED IN THE IGNITION, THE CONTACT HAD REPLACED THE KEY FOB AND THE STARTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING HAD MALFUNCTION AND THE STEERING WHEEL HAD BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT A POWER STEERING FLUID HOSE HAD RUPTURED CAUSING THE POWER STEERING FLUID HAD LEAK OUT. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT GOING 30 MPH HEAD ON COLLISION AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY
HEAD ON COLLISION AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE. DEALER SAYS IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL. EVEN THOUGH I SEE OTHER DODGE JOURNEY RECALLS OF SAME FIRE BEING RECALLED.
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND WILL NOT SHUTOFF.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED INTERMITTENTLY. ADDITIONALLY, THE HORN ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY, THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL WAS INOPERABLE, AND THE TAILGATE FAILED TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE STATIONARY AND IDLING. THE CONTACT WHO WORKS AS A CERTIFIED MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A FAILURE OF THE TIPM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
THE VEHICLE WILL STALL ON CRANKING WHICH A RED LIGHT WILL LIGHT UP YOU WILL HAVE TO GET UNDER VEHICLE AND TAP STARTER CONSTANTLY TO CRANK. STARTER HAS BEEN REPLACED 2X PROBLEM STILL HAPPENS ITS SPARK FIRE UNDER CAR. THE VEHICLE WILL BE CUT OFF STATIONED AFTER A DRIVE THEN IT WAS CRANK PERIOD UNTIL 20 MIN . WHEN PARKED TO GET IN AND DRIVE IT WANT START. HAS BEEN TEST ON MACHINE BATTERY GOOD STARTER GOOD AND TRANSMISSION IT DETECTED AND ELECTRICAL. ALSO WHEN UNLOCKING DOORS ONLY 3 DOORS WILL UNLOCK ONE YOU HOT UNLOCK WIPERS WILL COME ON.
I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS, AND IT HAD BEEN THERE ABOUT A WEEK EACH TIME AND THEY STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. I SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO AND NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BACK. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE GETS BELOW 45 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT MY CAR GOES HAYWIRE. ALL WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON, SPEEDOMETER AND UCONNECT SCREEN WON'T WORK, WIPER BLADES ARE ON AND UNABLE TO TURN OFF, MY HEADLIGHTS ARE ON BUT THE CONTROLS WON'T WORK AND MY BRIGHTS WON'T WORK. THE DEALERSHIP WANTED 1600 BECAUSE THE 'THINK IT IS THE TIPM' BUT ARE UNSURE. WELL I CHANGED THE TIPM MYSELF FOR $330 AND IT IS STILL DOING IT. I CAN AT LEAST RETURN THE ONE I BOUGHT AND AM ONLY OUT $85 WHICH IS BETTER THAN PAYING $1600 FOR THEM TO TELL ME IT DIDN'T WORK. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO ASIDE FROM SELLING THE VEHICLE, BUT THEN THE PROBLEM WOULD JUST CHANGE HANDS. THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DIAGNOSE THIS PROBLEM, AND EVERY TIME I TAKE IT THERE I'M OUT $100 AND NOWHERE CLOSER TO KNOWING WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OR HOW TO FIX IT. I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM, AND WOULD LIKE AN INVESTIGATION INTO WHAT IS CAUSING IT BECAUSE EVERY TIME THE WEATHER GETS COLD, I HAVE TO DRIVE WITHOUT A SPEED OR TURN SIGNALS.

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROD AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SERVICED EARLIER BY THE DEALER OURISMAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF BOWIE 2406 CRAIN HWY, BOWIE, MD 20716 (855) 822-3228. THE CONTACT SUSPECTED THE DEALER DID SUBPAR WORK THAT CAUSED THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT THE CONTACT DID NOT GET HER VEHICLE BACK UNTIL THE END OF NOVEMBER 2019, THE VEHICLE ISSUE OF STOPPING OCCURRED IN 12/2019. THE MANUFACTURER GAVE THE CONTACT A CASE NUMBER BUT HAD NOT CALLED BACK WITH AN UPDATE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE FTC AND HER STATE'S ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,226.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO OPERATE PROPERLY. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FILLED WITH FUEL, THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED AS EMPTY. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND HAD IT TOWED TO A PARKING SPOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 109,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS & AIRBAG MODULE.. THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED.. THE ELECTRICAL WIRE IS NOW MESSED UP BC THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON & OFF, THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT DOOR CONTROL LOCK TO LOCK THE CAR WILL NOT WORK, NOW ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON & OFF AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, ALL NEW COMPONENTS, DRIVING THE CAR ON JAN 4TH 2020 & THE ENGINE JUST STOPS ON ME AT TRAFFIC LIGHT.. THIS CAR HAS HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS AFTER PROBLEMS FROM THE 1ST DAY I BOUGHT IT FROM THE SALES AGENT THAT LIED TO ME ABOUT EVERYTHING.. THERE ARE RECALLS ON MY CAR THAT STILL NEVER GOT REPLACED.. I AM THE NEW OWNER OF THIS 2009 DODGE JOURNEY SXT ON (2/16/2018).. I WAS TOLD I'M THE 2ND OWNER, I AM THE 4TH OWNER AND WAS LIED ABOUT IF THIS CAR WAS IN A ACCIDENT.. IT WAS IN A ACCIDENT TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION STOPPING AND THE PPL THAT HAD THIS CAR B4 ME THE REPORT SAYS IT WAS SIDE SWIPED PASSENGER SIDE ON (10/18/2017).. FOUND OUT MORE ABOUT THE CAR I BOUGHT WAS IN A MAJOR FLOOD SO SOMEONE DIDN'T TELL THE TRUTH & I WAS SOLD A CAR THAT HAS WATER DAMAGE & THEY COVERED IT UP AND I BEEN COMPLAINING SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR... SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT WITH THIS CAR & I GOT RIPPED OFF, THIS CAR THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED ON ME AND I ALMOST GOT IN A BAD CAR ACCIDENT.. I'VE HAD A MECHANIC AT A DODGE DEALERSHIP TELL ME & MY DAD I WAS SOLD A CAR THAT HAS WATER DAMAGE ETC... I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON & OFF AND THIS WAS A RECALL AND SHOULD BE REDONE, THE ENGINE LIGHT IS FAULTY AND THE STEERING WHEEL AND ELECTRICAL STILL, ALONG WITH THE FOB IGNITION SWITCH..

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD AND SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO GEAR WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS BEING DEPRESSED FOR THE VEHICLE TO START. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STABILITY CONTROL AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED FAILURES WITH THE INTAKE AND TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INDEPENDENTLY SHIFT TO SECOND GEAR OR TO THE PARK POSITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED TO BE ABLE TO SHIFT GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
MY CAR IS CONSTANTLY UNABLE TO START IM BEING TOLD DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IVE REPLACED THE STARTER, BATTERY, & ALTERNATOR. THERE ARE ALL KINDS OF FORUMS TELLING YOU WAYS AROUND GETTING THE CAR TO START BUT NO REAL FIXES. SOME PEOPLE SPENDING HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS TRYING TO FIX THIS ISSUE BY REPLACING FUSE BOXES, ADDING CABLES, REPLACING THE ENTIRE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND MORE TO NO AVAIL. WHILE OTHERS JUST PARK THE CAR UNTIL ITS PAID OFF OR SELL IT. ITS NOT FAIR AND ITS INCONVENIENT. DODGE JOURNEYS 2009+ ARE ALL EXPERIENCING THESE ISSUES.
RANDOMLY, WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR, THE ENGINE WILL MAKE A SINGULAR CLICK SOUND BUT WILL NOT TURN OVER. HOWEVER, MOST OF THE TIME, WHEN PUTTING THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL, IT WILL START. SOMETIMES IT WILL TAKE MULTIPLE TIMES OF PUTTING CAR IN NEUTRAL, BACK TO PARK, FOR THE CAR TO START. THE ISSUES HAPPENS WITH BOTH COLD AND HOT STARTS (HAPPENS MORE OFTEN WHEN IN HOT WEATHER. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR INTO THE DEALER AND THEY, "COULD NOT FIND ANY ISSUES." THE ISSUE HAS OCCURED OVER THE LAST 4 YEARS.
FIRST THE LIGHT TURN ON OF THE AIR BAG (MOVEMENT). IN OTHER NIGHT WHEN I TURN ON THE ALARM IT'S START TO ACTIVATE ON PANIC MODE THEN I TURN OFF THE ALARM WAIT FOR A VARIOUS MINUTES AND ACTIVATE AGAIN (OFF), BUT IN LESS THAN A MINUTE START TO BE IN PANIC MODE. IN OTHER DAY (MOVEMENT), SAYS THAT WAS AN OPEN DOOR AND THE LOCKS START TO PUT IT MANY TIMES, ANY OF THE DOORS WASN'T OPEN (MOVEMENT). IN THE SAME DAY AT NIGHT IT'S START TO TURN ON/TURN OFF THE INSIDE LIGHTS, PUT THE LOCKS, AND THE MESSAGE OF A DOOR IT'S WAS OPEN (MOVEMENT). THE ALARM WAS ON PANIC MODE TWICE AND THE LIGHT'S WAS AGAING TURN ON/TURN OFF (OFF). THE BATTERIE, EVERY TIME THAT I TRY TO TURN ON THE VEHICULE I NEED A BOOSTER TO CHARGE IT AGAIN. THE MECHANICS SAYS THAT THE ALTERNATOR AND THE BATTERIE ARE IN GOOD CONDITIONS HAS THE VOLTAGE THAT NEEDS TO BE OPERATING. I PUT A NEW BATTERIE BUT THE PROBLEM PERSIST. AND TURN ON THE LIGHT OF OTHER THING ON THE PANEL.
AFTER DRIVING HOME FROM MY HOUSE TO MY MOM, IN THE MORNING I WENT TO START THE CAR AND IT WOULD CRANK ON BUT NOT FULLY START. IT'S BEEN DOING THAT FOR THE PAST THREE DAYS CAN'T MOVE MY CAR OUT OF START BECAUSE IT'S NOT FULLY TURNING ON
POWER STEERING HOSE RUPTURE AND IT LEAKING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO TURN OFF AND RESTART THE VEHICLE THERE WAS A POPPING NOISE AND BLACK SMOKE CAME OUT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE WAS QUICKLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FLAMES WERE EXTINGUISHED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT BUT THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED BY THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED BUT A FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE REMAINS OF THE VEHICLE WERE TOWED TO A LOT FOR THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO INSPECT. THE DEALER JOHN HIESTER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (940 N MAIN ST, LILLINGTON, NC 27546 (910) 893-8088) WAS ASKED ABOUT RECALLS AND TOLD THE CONTACT THERE WERE NO RECALLS RELATED TO THE VEHICLE CATCHING ON FIRE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED YET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000. *DT
TAKARA RECALL. THE HORN WILL RANDOMLY GO OFF. AND SO WILL THE ALARM.
ALL OF THE BUTTONS STOPPED WORKING IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR, ALONG WITH THE TWO BACK DOORS. THE WINDOWS, LOCKS, ETC DO NOT WORK BECAUSE OF THIS. THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS TURNING OFF AND ON. NOW ALL OF THE WIRING IS ACTING LIKE IT IS MESSED UP. THE BRAKE LIGHTS KEEP COMING ON, THE CAR RANDOMLY WON'T START, THE OVERHEAD LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THE RIGHT BLINKER IS USED. NOW THE CAR WON'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK 8/10 TRIES. THE CAR ALSO ACTS LIKE IT LOSES POWER RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN LISTED AS RECALLS, YET MY CAR IS NOT ON THE LIST.
CAR WILL NOT START AT TIMES, USUALLY WHEN IT'S HOT OUTSIDE, AND IT TAKES ANYWHERE FROM 5 MINUTES TO A DAY BEFORE IT WILL START BACK. BATTERY, KEYS, AND ALTERNATOR ARE FINE. MOST OF THE TIME IF I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL IT WILL START BUT OTHER TIMES I AM LEFT STRANDED. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE FAR FROM HOME BECAUSE IF I TURN MY CAR OFF IT MAY NOT START BACK . I HAVE BEEN STRANDED FOR HOURS WITH MY KIDS BEFORE IN THE HIGH HEAT. THIS NEEDS FIXED ASAP, BEEN GOING ON FOR 5 YRS NOW.ASK ANYONE WITH A DODGE JOURNEY AND THEY WILL TELL YOU THEY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE.
AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS FLASHING LIKE THE AIRBAGS ARE DEFECTIVE WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING.

THE CONTACT HAD TO REMOVE A FUSE FROM THE FUSE BOX IN ORDER TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.

THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY DODGE JOURNEY HAS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. SOME INSTANCES OCCURRED WHILE TURNING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR DRIVING STRAIGHT AHEAD ON A LOCAL CITY ROAD. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TRACTION EQUALIZER WARNING AND AIR BAG LIGHTS ALL COME ON JUST PRIOR TO THE CAR SHUTTING OFF MOST TIMES. OTHER TIMES THERE IS NO WARNING UNTIL MY STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKES LOCK UP INDICATED THAT THE CAR HAS SHUT OFF. I'VE HAD THE CAR SERVICED FOR THE ENGINE AMONGST OTHER REPAIRS AND THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS AND THE CODES CLEAR ONLY TEMPORARILY. THE CAR LIGHTS DIM OR FLICKER AND THE CAR SHAKES SOMETIMES WHEN STARTING UP INDICATING THAT THE CAR WILL NOT HOLD POWER TO DRIVE. THE BATTERY IS GOOD AND THE MECHANIC HAS STATED THAT THE ISSUE IS ELECTRICAL.
VEHICLE WILL NOT CONSISTENTLY START IN PARK. PLACING THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL WORKED FOR A FEW MONTHS THS AND NOW, AFTER THE STARTER AND O2 SENSORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, THE VEHICLE HAS BEGUN TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS. OUR CURRENT SHORT TERM FIX IS TO JIGGLE THE BATTERY CABLES/WIRING HARNESS AND AFTER 5 MINUTES THAT WORKS. HADN'T HAD THIS ISSUE FOR FIVE YEARS (AS THE OWNER) AND DURING THE PAST YEAR IT'S BEEN ONE NON-START AFTER ANOTHER. DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR AN HOUR WITHOUT A PROBLEM STARTING. STOPPED TO GET GAS, TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE, NOTHING. THE DASH TURNS ON, THE VEHICLE CLI IS, BUT WONT TURN OVER. BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, STARTER...CHARGING SYSTEM CHECKED OUT TO BE OK. CONCERNED I WILL BE STRANDED WITHOUT A TRUE FIX TO THIS ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY EACH TIME WE TRIED TO START IT. WWLE EVEN CAPTURED A VIDEO OF THE NON-START AND OUR RESOLUTION FOR THE MECHANIC TO VIEW. THEY DIDNT WXOWEINCE THE ISSUE; BUT I DID, AND THEY NEEDED MORE INFORMATION TO TROUBLE SHOOT FURTHER.
MY 2009 DODGE JOURNEY HAS BEEN HAVING A NO START ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER THE PAST 3 YEARS. AT FIRST IT WAS JUST WHEN IT WAS HOT OUTSIDE OR THE CAR WAS HOT AFTER DRIVING AN HOUR OR MORE, NOW IT HAPPENS AT ANY GIVEN TIME, EVEN FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. I CAN USUALLY GET IT STARTED AFTER 5-10 TRIES, BUT NEVER ON THE FIRST TRY. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ON MONDAY, JUNE 17, 2019 WHEN I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE 5TH TIME THIS YEAR FOR THIS PROBLEM.
CAR WILL INTERMITTENTLY START AND THEN WON'T START. BATTERY IS FINE. CHECKED NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH. STILL NOTHING. HAVE BEEN STRANDED SEVERAL TIME.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SWITCH WILL NOT OPERATE THE FRONT WINDOWS OR SIDE MIRRORS BUT DOES OPERATE THE BACK WINDOWS. THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ALSO ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I'VE BEEN RESEARCHING ABOUT THE FAULT AND FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ABOUT THE WIRING HARNESS. I NEED THE PROPER PAPERWORK OR STEPS TO GET THIS PROBLEM AND RECALL FIXED. THANKS.
I DROVE MY VEHICLE TO THE GROCERY STORE WITH NO PROBLEMS. I SHOPPED, CAME BACK OUT AND TRIED TO START IT. LIGHTS, RADIO, WINDOWS, LOCKS... ALL WORKED. WHEN TRYING TO START, YOU HEAR A SINGLE CLICK EACH TIME YOU TRY. WE TRIED TO JUMPSTART IT; THERE WERE NO CHANGES. IT WOULDN'T START. I HAD THE DEALER TOW IT. THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. THEY ENDED UP GETTING IT TO START WITH NO ANSWERS FOR ME. THEY JUST SAID THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHATS WRONG WITH IT OR WHY IT ACTED THE WAY IT DID. I DID SOME RESEARCH. ITS COMMON IN DODGE JOURNEYS; THEREFORE DODGE SHOULD ADRESS THE ISSUE.

I CONTACTED A LEMON LAW LAWYER THE NEXT DAY AFTER GETTING THE TIRES REPLACED BC HE LIED TO ME, THE TIE ROD & BALL JOINT HAD TO BE REPLACED, ON TOP OF THAT I FOUND OUT THERE ARE (4) RECALLS ON MY CAR THAT WERE NEVER TAKEN CARE OF, SO DODGE CHYRSLER DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE FRONT/BACK AIRBAGS IN (MAR/APRIL)OF YEAR 2018.. I RECEIVED THE RECALLS TO MY PHONE, TO TOP THAT OFF I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN CASH OVER ($4,263.00), THE LEMON LAW LAWYER TOLD ME TO GO TO A WEBSITE TO GET THE HISTORY ON MY CAR I BOUGHT, IT WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON PASSENGER SIDE ON (10/18/2017).. I WAS LIED TO TOTALLY, I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BC THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED ON ME, MY SISTER RAISED $$ TO GET TRANSMISSION REPLACED, NOW HAD TO PUT NEW BRAKES/NEW BATTERY/NEW STARTER/ANOTHER NEW TIRE/ THEN THE HUB ASSEMBLY BROKE ALONG WITH THE SWAY BAR ARM, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS FAULTY & CAR STARTS BUT THEN IF I GO ANYWHERE & THEN TRY TO START TO GO HOME, IT WON'T START & THE FOB KEY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AS WELL.. THIS CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD, TOO MANY PROBLEMS THAT SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING..IT HAS STOPPED ON ME TOO MANY TIMES TO COUNT, I'M AT THEE POINT I AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.. THIS VEHICLE HAS (2 RECALLS) THAT HAVE NOT BEEN TAKEN CARE OF YET, I HAD TO CALL CANADA TO TELL THEM I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BC THEY DIDN'T HAVE ME AS THE NEW OWNER, I DIDN'T GET ANY RECALL NOTICES IN THE MAIL BC I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR LAST YR & IT WAS AT A DEALERSHIP, THEY NEVER TOOK CARE OF THE RECALLS,, I WAS SENT A NOTICE TO MY CREDIT KARMA ACCT TELLING ME THERE'S 4 RECALLS BUT THE AIRBAGS ARE DISMISSED BC THEY WERE TAKEN CARE OF,. I HAVE 2 RECALLS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN REPAIRED.MY IGNITION SWITCH HASN'T WORKED FROM THE DAY I BOUGHT THIS CAR,IT'S LOOSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE STALLED CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A BRICK WALL. THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITH FORCE HOWEVER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED NECK PAINS, BODY PAINS, MUSCLE SPASMS IN THE LEFT ARM AND SCARRING TO THE LEFT ARM. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED HEAD, MOUTH AND FACE INJURY DUE TO NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. BOTH RECEIVED FURTHER MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (AIR BAGS AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PURCHASED FROM A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND THE CRASH TO DETERMINE IF THEY MAY OPEN AN INVESTIGATION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000.
THIS IS JUST TOO MUCH. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. SOMETIMES IT CRANK AND THEN IT WON'T. I CAN GET IN IT AND DRIVE TO WORK, BUT BY THE TIME I GET OFF IT WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. THE LIGHTS AND RADIO WORK BUT THE CAR WILL NOT TURN OVER. IT'S LIKE IT WILL WORK FOR AWHILE BUT AFTER TURNING IT OFF IT COULD TAKE HOURS TO START UP AGAIN IF IT STARTS UP. AND YES I HAVE ALSO TRIED THE PUTTING THE CAR IN NUETRAL, BUT WHEN IT DON'T TURN OVER YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE GEARS.I DON'T HEAR ANY CRANKING NOISE, THE TRUCK JUST LIGHTS UP. I HAVE HAD A NEW STARTER, BATTERY, AND ALTERNATOR PUT ON. I HAVE HAD THIS TRUCK PULL HOME ON A TOW TRUCK FROM WORK AND SOON AS THEY UNHOOK IT IT WILL STARTS UP...I HAVE TWO YOUNG KIDS AND I HAVE HAD THE EXPERIENCE OF GOING TO A GAS STATION IN THE EVENING AFTER GETTING OFF WORK AND AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR IT WILL NOT CRANK. THE HORN JUST STARTS HONKING ON ITS OWN SOMETIMES,AND THE THEFT SYSTEM ALARM LIGHT ALMOST NEVER STOPS BLINKING. I HAVE SPENT MORE THAN I ALMOST PAID FOR THE VEHICLE, AND STILL HAVE TO UBER PLACES. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. TOOK IT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT YOU TO LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE THERE FOR ABOUT 4 DAYS AND WANT TO CALL YOU WITH A RIDICULOUS MONEY QUOTE. COME ON DODGE HOW MUCH MORE DO YOUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TO SUFFER FROM A PROBLEM YOU DON'T WANT TO FIX. A VERY CONCERNED CONSUMER AND PARENT.

ALSO A CLICKING SOUND WHEN NOTHING ON. I GOOGLED IT AND WAS SHOCKED TO FIND HUNDREDS OF OTHERS COMPLAINTS. I CALLED CRYSLER THEY SAID TO MAKE A COMPLAINT HERE AND IF ENOUGH COMPLAINTS A RECALL WILL BE ISSUED. I SURE HOPE NO ONE GETS HURT OR DIES WAITING FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO CORRECT THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THEY CLEARLY KNOW ABOUT BUT WILL NOT ADDRESS UNLESS THEY ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE DEALER INSTALLED A NEW STARTER, TRANSMISSION SENSORS, AND PCM MODULE, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.

THE PCM IS DRAINING BATTERIES AND CAUSING MY TRUCK TO SHIFT HARD OR SHIFTS TO THE SECOND GEAR AND WON'T POWER PAST THAT. VERY CONCERNED BECAUSE MY WIFE IS PREGNANT AND SHE OFTEN HAS TO PRESS ON THE CONTROL BOARD FROM WORK TO GET THE TRUCK CRUNK. ONCE A WEEK SHE GETS A JUMP OFF BECAUSE THE MODULE DRAINS HER BATTERY. BECAUSE OUR VIN DOESN'T FIT THE RECALL NUMBERS IT WON'T GET FIXED BUT IT'S THE SAME PROBLEMS AS THE RECALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,000.
