On November 26th as I was driving the headrest just popped and hit the back of my head, after doing a little bit of research I found out it's actually an airbag, nothing hit the back of the seat since I was the only one in the car, I'm concern as to how this had happened and if the other headrest will go off as well.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where a diagnostic test was not yet performed. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 108,800. The VIN was not provided.
It sound like My transmission is going out. The car is shaking when stopped at red light. I was pulling off it took it a long time to move it was making a whining sound.
Our 2013 Dodge Journey (only owners) has had a few recalls and had multiple challenges with overheating within the engine. Although, We have had all the recalls we are aware of completed it continues to shut off and not start. Ours, our children, and other passengers safety has been at risk as we have been strained with no running vehicle and the unknown if the vehicle will just shut off while in operation. While we can not guarantee the sources of the general internet it is a common search and alignment to say an abundance of 2013 Dodge Journey owners have experienced this and have been searching for answers yet have not received an adequate response. Our vehicle has been inspected by a Dodge facility, and two other independent mechanics to no avail we are in this situation with no answers nor solutions. Our check engine light has been present since we can remember and we were told on multiple attempts even after the engine beauty cover recall that it was ok, obviously it’s not and is sad the quality of the engine lasted barely 128,000 miles. Our Journey has been un-drivable as it is stated to need a new engine from the overheating.
Vehicles ABS and Traction lights came on several times and went off. There is a grinding sound when I try to break. I have to pay $65 to have the issue diagnosed. This vehicle has given me problems since I got it. I need to have this fixed

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Journey. The contact stated initially noticed that power steering fluid was leaking onto his driveway. The contact also stated that while driving at slower speeds, extra effort was needed to steer the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V273000 (Steering) however, the Vin was not included. Additionally, he also stated that while his wife was at stop light, the vehicle shut-off while accelerating. The contact stated that his wife was unaware if any warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. She was able to immediately restart the vehicle and resume normal driving. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT WITH THE REAR DEFROSTER ACTIVATED, SHE HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND AS THE REAR WINDSHIELD STARTED CRACKING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.
MY CAR STALLED ON ME WHILE DRIVING. THE FIRST TIME (2014) IT HAPPENED I WAS MAKING A TURN ON A CITY STREET. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. IT JUST STALLED WHILE DRIVING LAST WEEK FOR A SECOND TIME. I WAS WAITING ON A LIGHT ON A CITY STREET. MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD I COULDN'T PUT THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A SCHOOL ZONE. I TRIED STARTING IT AND NOTHING. TWO GENTLEMEN HAD TO PUSH MY CAR OUT OF TRAFFIC. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE, IMAGINE HAD I BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY SOMEONE WOULD OF HIT FROM ME BEHIND AS I HAD NO POWER AT ALL. THERE WAS NO WAY OF WARNING THE CARS BEHIND ME AS I HAD NO POWER. I REPLACED THE BATTERY IN 1/2021 AND ALTERNATOR IN 3/2021. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE DODGE FORUM WEBSITE I BELIEVE SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE FOR SAFETY ISSUES. ALSO MY BLUETOOTH SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING THAT IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE. I DID COMPLAIN TO DODGE AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THE DODGE FORUM WEBSITE. MY DODGE JOURNEY IS CURRENTLY AT A SHOP UNDER DIAGNOSTICS. IT MAKES IT UNSAFE FOR ME TO WANT TO DRIVE IT AT THIS POINT.
MY VEHICLE HAS A PENTASTAR 3.6L V6 AND 117000APPX. MILES. IT WAS RECENTLY DIAGNOSED WITH A CRACKED CYLINDER HEAD. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THESE ENGINES BUT, FOR SOME REASON, I'M BEING TOLD IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER SERVICE BULLETIN 09-002-14.
POWER STEERING PRESSURE LINE RUPTURED IN FREEZING WEATHER CAUSING THE PUMP TO FAIL. PUMP AND LINE NEED TO BE REPLACED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GREGGCO AUTO SALES (2015 AE MOORE DR, MOODY, AL 35004, (205) 603-3837) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 152,000.
THUS THE 4TH TIME WIN THIN A 2 YEAR PERIOD THAT MY 2013 DODGE JOURNEY LET ME SIT. TIME 1&2 BATTERY NEED TO BE REPLACED, A COSTLY BILL. 3RD TIME THE FUSE BLEW. ALL 3 TIMES MY CARS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON & A WEEKS LET ME SIT. AS OF JAN. 8, AGAIN MY CAR LEAVING ME, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON & A WEEKS LATER LEFT ME SIT. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT, I'M UNEMPLOYED & HAVE A CAR PAYMENT, I CAN'T AFFORD A COSTLY REPAIR. THIS SEEMS TO BE A GENERAL PROBLEM WITH THE JOURNEYS, WHY ON EARTH AREN'T YOU RECALLING THEM. I KNOW THAT IT WOULD BE COSTLY, BUT AT LEAST YOU MIGHT HAVE HAPPY CUSTOMERS. I'M THINKING OF SURRENDERING THE VEHICLE DUE TO THIS CONTINUOUS NO START PROBLEM. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (CHERRY HILL DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM 1708 NJ-70, CHERRY HILL, NJ 08002; (856) 471-1058) WHO STATED THAT THE LEAKING OIL COOLER HOUSING ADAPTER ENGINE AND GASKET INTAKE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,600.*LN CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER COVERAGE HAS EXPIRED.*JB
ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT HEADREST ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DEPLOYED ON ITS OWN. CAR WAS STATIONARY AND TURNED OFF. THE PASSENGER WAS BUCKLED IN AND HAD LEANING FORWARD TO OPEN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT WHEN THE HEAD RESTS POPPED OPEN.
AS I WAS DRIVING THE HEAD REST DEPLOYED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND SHOVED MY HEAD FORWARD CAUSING ME TO LOSE FOCUS

DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF AND PARKED. IT STRUCK DRIVER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD.

DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND ENGINE DIED. DASH LIGHTS AND GAUGES FLASHED OFF AND ON. SPEEDOMETER WENT BACK AND FORTH. THEN IT STARTED RUNNING AGAIN. A COUPLE DAYS LATER IT DIED WHILE TURNING A CORNER. I HAD TO RESTART VEHICLE. A COUPLE DAYS AFTER THAT I WENT TO START THE CAR AND NO LIGHTS, GAUGES OR NOTHING WORKED. THE BATTERY AND REMOTE KEY WERE FINE. CHECKED TO SEE IF HORN WOULD BLOW, IT WORKED. TRIED TO START AGAIN AND EVERYTHING WORKED FINE. IT IS VERY UNSAFE FOR IT TO JUST DIE WHITE ON THE HIGHWAY GOIN AROUND A CURVE.
I'VE HAD MY JOURNEY FOR ONLY 7 YEARS. A YEAR AND A HALF AGO THE MODULE STOPPED WORKING SO I COULDN'T CONNECT MY IPHONE TO UCONNECT. I CALLED THE DEALERS AND ASKED HOW MUCH TO FIX THIS AND THEY SAID AN OUTRAGES AMOUNT OF OVER 200.00.SO I DECIDED NOT TO DEAL WITH THEM.BY THE WAY I WAS DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ALL THE SUDDEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON IN MY STEERING LOCKED UP. I PULLED TO A MIDDLE LANE SINCE IT WAS IN A VERY BUSY ROAD AND SHUT MY CAR OFF AND TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON AND IT STARTED SHAKING. AGAIN TURN THE CAR OFF LET IT SIT FOR A LITTLE BIT TRY TO TURN IT ON AND IT STARTED SHAKING AGAIN. TRY TO THIRD TIME I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME THE STEERING WHEEL UNLOCKED AND DROVE IT HOME FINE BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON THE WHOLE TIME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CHRIS NIKEL CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM FIAT (2920 N ASPEN AVE, BROKEN ARROW, OK 74012) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE TWO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE WHICH WERE HOWEVER, NOT RELATED TO THE FAILURE EXPERIENCED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 164,000.
I WAS WAITING FOR MY SON TO GET OUT OF PRACTICE. THE CAR WAS OFF AND I WAS SMACKED VERY HARD IN THE HEAD FROM BEHIND. I LOOKED BACK TO SEE THE THE HEADREST HAD POPPED OUT. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, I THOUGHT IT NEEDED RESET. BIT AFTER LOOKING AT IT, THE PLASTIC CONNECTION POINTS OF THE PIN HAD ACTUALLY BROKE AND THE HEADREST CANNOT BE RESET BUT NOW NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A CRAZY PRICE.
I GOT INTO THE VEHICLE SHUT THE DOOR AND THE HEAD REST POPPED OPEN IT HIT MY HEAD SO HARD MY NECK HURTS FROM MY HEAD BEING THROWN FORWARD THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING IT WASN'T EVEN STARTED YET IT WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY I HAD TO TAKE OFF THE HEADREST SO I COULD DRIVE IT.*DT CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THE HEADREST WOULD COST $575 TO REPLACE IT. IN THE MEAN TIME, CONSUMER PLACED 2 SCREWS TO HOLD IT IN PLACE UNTIL HE COULD REPAIR IT.*JB
WHILE ADJUSTING DRIVERS SEAT HEADREST DEPLOYED. SMALL PLASTIC PIECES BROKE THAT HOLD A BAR IN PLACE.*DT
WHILE DRIVING 75MPH ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER, LOSING ALL GAS PEDAL FUNCTION. I HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE AND WAS DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! AFTER GETTING PULLED OVER, ONCE THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF IT WOULD NO LONGER RESTART. THE CAR WOULD NOT EVEN GO INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT USING THE BYPASS SWITCH, WHICH IS HOW WE GOT IT ON THE TOW TRUCK. THE DEALERSHIP DUG INTO THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT THE FLEX PLATE BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY BROKE, SOMETHING THEY FLAT OUT SAID SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, I FOUND THAT NOT ONLY IS THIS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AMONG SEVERAL MODELS OF CHRYSLER (MINIVAN) AND DODGE (RAM AND JOURNEY), BUT IT HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR MANY YEARS IN THEIR V6 VEHICLES (BACK TO 2006). THE FLEX PLATE ITSELF HAS BEEN MANUFACTURED TOO THIN AND IS NOT MADE SAFELY, AS THE FIX ENTAILS INSTALLING AN AFTERMARKET, MUCH THICHER, FLEX PLATE. THIS PROVES THAT THERE IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT IN THE ORIGINAL PRODUCT. EVEN WORSE, THIS FAILURE CAN CAUSE MAJOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. NOT ONLY IS DODGE RISKING MY FAMILY'S SAFETY, BUT THEY RISK THE SAFETY OF OTHER DRIVERS TRAVELING NEAR ANY OF THEIR THOUSANDS OF FAULTY VEHICLES, AND THE TOW TRUCK DRIVERS WHO HAVE TO TOW THE BROKEN DOWN VEHICLES. I'VE SPOKEN TO DODGE MULTIPLE TIMES AND ALL THE WANT TO TELL ME IS THAT MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AT 100,000. DODGE BUILDS CARS TO BREAK DOWN AFTER 100,000; AT 110, 000 TO BE EXACT AND I AM NOT ALONE ON THIS ISSUE. DODGE NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR PRODUCING SAFER VEHICLES AND NOT KNOWINGLY PUSHING CHEAP PARTS THROUGH MANUFACTURING.

VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN IT ALL OF A SUDDEN JUMPED AND THE AUDIO WENT OFF AS WELL AS THE LIGHTS TO THE DASH MY CAR SHUT OFF AND WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON. BELIEVED TO BE THE ALTERNATOR. THE CAR NEVER HAD ANY OTHER SIGNS PRIOR TO THIS. I ONLY WAS IN MOTION FOR ABOUT 2 MILES. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,455.

CLEARLY THIS IS A DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING. LOOK AT THE DODGE JOURNEY FORUMS AND YOU'LL SEE MANY OTHERS HAVE THIS ISSUE. CAUSING MY CAR TO SWERVE OUT OF CONTROL AND CAUSING MY CAR TO ALMOST ROLLOVER AS IT WENT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, I KEEP HAVING TO CHANGE MY TIRES INCLUDING THE BACK TIRES THE MOST.THE CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED.THE LIGHT IS ON THE DASH, BUT NO ONE WILL FIX IT, I HAVE A SON WHO IS 14 YEARS OLD I BOUGHT THE CAR BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE DEPENDABLE. MY SON HAS TO HAVE A LIVE AND KIDNEY TRANSPLANT. THE CAR IS STILL UNDER 100,000 ,MILES. SO YOU CAN IMAGINE WHEN I FOUND ALL THIS OUT. THEY SAID OR THE DEALER SAID THAT THE CAR DOES HAVE RECALLS BUT WONT FIX THEM, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A WIRING HARNESS PROBLEM. DRIVING ALONG AND CHECK ENGINE ,NO SKID, AND ELEC FLASH AND ENGINES HUTS OFF. TRYING TO RESTART , IT CRANKS STARTS FOR 30SECONDS AND THEN SHUTS DOWN.
THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED WITHOUT ACCIDENT. THE CLIPS HOLDING THE LOCKING PIN IN PLACE BROKE UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND THE HEADREST POPPED WITH A LOT OF FORCE HITTING ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FROM WHAT I SEE ON DODGE FORUMS.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF AN INCORRECT PURGE FLOW AND LOSS VEHICLE SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE.
