TRANSMISSION ISSUES IN 2016 , 2017 , AND 2020 . THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE AND WOULDN'T SHIFT TO DRIVE IN THE MIDDLE THE STREET . THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY COMING FROM ALABAMA
THE HEADREST POPPED OUT AND SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF MY HEAD.
ABOUT OCTOBER 2019, WHILE PULLING INTO A GAS STATION, MY 2013 DODGE JOURNEY JUST SHUT OFF. NO WARNINGS, NO LIGHTS WENT OFF TO INDICATE WHAT HAPPENED. I PUT IT IN PARK, PUSHED THE IGNITION BUTTON SO THAT THE CAR WAS ACTUALLY OFF, AND THEN RE-STARTED IT. IT STARTED WITH NO ISSUES, AND WAS FINE. THEN IN NOVEMBER OF 2019 MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE AND HAD THEM RUN A DIAGNOSTIC ON IT, WHICH CAME BACK THAT THE CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR NEED SOME ATTENTION. HOWEVER, THE NEXT DAY WHEN I STARTED MY CAR, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WASN'T ON, AND IT STAYED OFF. THAT IS UNTIL TODAY, 2.20.2020. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HIGHWAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE AUTO STORE, HAD THEM RUN A TEST, WHICH CAME BACK AS THE CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR AGAIN. MY CAR HASN'T STOPPED ON ME YET, AND I HOPE IT DOESN'T, AND I AM LOOKING TO GET THIS REPAIRED. HOWEVER, EVERY ONE I HAVE SEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, STATES IT HAPPENS REPEATEDLY. I REALLY HOPE TO HAVE A RECALL ON THIS, AS IT APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE ITSELF AND NOT SOMETHING THE CONSUMERS SHOULD HAVE TO KEEP PAYING FOR! WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DRIVE IN FEAR EVERY TIME WE GET BEHIND THE WHEEL, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE HAVE CHILDREN RIDING IN OUR VEHICLES! PLEASE FIX THIS!
WHEN TURNING TO THE LEFT THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT AND SOMETIMES COMES RIGHT BACK . IN WHICH ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR SNAPES TO THE LEFT VIOLENTLY. THIS HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY, AS WELL AS CITY STREETS.
DRIVER SIDE HEAD REST VIOLENTLY BURST APART DURING NORMAL OPERATION GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. NO IMPACT TO CAR ONE WAY OR THE OTHER TO CAUSE DAMAGE. THE IMPACT HIT THE BACK OF MY WIFE'S HEAD CAUSING DISORIENTATION AND THE FRIGHTEN AWARENESS SHE HAD BEEN STRUCK. AT THE TIME, SHE WAS NOT AWARE OF WHAT HIT HER UNTIL SHE NOTICED THE HEAD REST HAD COME APART. THE HEAD REST IS NOW SHOWING THE COMPONENTS OF THE MECHANISM AND DRIVING IS NOW DIFFICULT. THERE IS NOTICEABLE PLASTIC COMPONENTS THAT APPEAR TO BE SHATTERED OR DAMAGED INSIDE THE HEADREST. *TR
MY CAR KEEPS MISFIRING AND I REPLACED MY SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACKS SEVERAL TIMES.
MY DODGE JOURNEY'S ENGINE SHUT OFF TWICE WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH NO WARNING. NO LOSS OF LIGHTS OR RADIO, BUT THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF AND CAR CANNOT BE RESTARTED. THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, AND RIGHT AFTER ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AT A RED LIGHT THE CAR DIED. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED, AND HAD AN AUTO PART STORE DO SOME BASIC TESTS AND WAS TOLD IT WAS JUST A BAD BATTERY, HOWEVER WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN THE DAY AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY. THIS TIME I WAS ON A CITY STREET HAVING JUST EXITED OFF OF THE INTERSTATE. I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND AGAIN THE CAR JUST LOST POWER DUE TO THE ENGINE SHUTTING DOWN. AGAIN IT WOULD NOT START AND COULD NOT BE JUMP STARTED SO HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. DEALER WAS ABLE TO GET A CODE P061C, AND FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS TO UPDATE THE PCM. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS APPLIED TO THE POWER CONTROL MODULE. I AM VERY CONCERNED WITH THE FACT THAT MY CAR CAN JUST SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE WITH NO WARNING AT ALL. VERY DANGEROUS.
THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT PROBLEMS I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH SINCE DAY ONE OF OWNING MY DODGE JOURNEY. THE FIRST BEING ELECTRICAL, MY CLOCK RUNS FAST BECAUSE OF THE POWER FLOW TO IT. I HAVE 2 POWER OUTLETS IN MY CAR THAT DO NOT WORK PROPERLY AND 1 OF THEM THE DEALERSHIP IN FLORIDA MESSED UP TO FIX ONE OF THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THE SECOND ISSUE IS WHEN I ACCELERATE MY TRANSMISSION CLICKS, I WAS PRETTY MUCH TOLD I WAS CRAZY BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE NOISE AND NOW THAT I DO NOT HAVE A WARRANTY THEY ARE REPORTING IT TO ME AND WANT ME TO PAY. THE LAST AND FINAL ISSUE IS MY BRAKES I HAVE HAD MY BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED AND MY BREAK MASTER CYLINDER AND I STILL KEEP LOSING MY BRAKES. IF I HAVE TO SLAM ON MY BRAKES OR PUT ANY REAL PRESSURE MY BRAKES GO SOFT AND TO THE FLOOR. BOTH OF THESE PARTS WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE JUST GUESSING ON WHAT WAS WRONG AND THEY DIDN'T CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
MY HEADREST ON MY DRIVER SEAT JUST BUSTED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON I10 AND HIT ME IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD. IT HIT ME SO HARD I SWERVED LEFT TO RIGHT LIKE 3 4 TIMES, I LITERALLY HAD TO PULL OVER AND GET OUT TO SEE WAT THAT WAS, I THOUGHT SOMETHING CAME THRU THE BACK OF MY WINDOW, IT KNOCKED ME DIZZY FOR A FEW MINUTES, I HAD TO SIT AND WAIT, I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GO OUT, I HAD TO CLOSE MY EYES AND DEBILITATE, THE MOST SCARIEST THING EVER, MY NECK AND BACK HURT.*DT*JB
SAFETY FEATURES OF THE FRONT HEAD REST DEPLOYED WITHOUT CAUSE, WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS.
DRIVER SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 35 MPH ON A SMOOTH ROAD, NO ACCIDENT. FOUND THAT THE PLASTIC RETAINERS WERE BROKEN. PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST ALSO HAD DAMAGED RETAINERS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE JOURNEY LIMITED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THERE AN ABNORMAL TICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE JIM RIEHL'S FRIENDLY CHRYSLER JEEP 32899 VAN DYKE AVE, WARREN, MI 48093 (586) 979-8700 HOWEVER, NO DIAGNOSTIC TESTS WERE PREFORMED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10139771 AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 135,000.
WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. WENT OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THOUGH A YARD AND OVER AN EMBANKMENT RESTING AGAINST A TREE. FRONT END DAMAGE, AND DAMAGE TO BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 58-60 MPH AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. THIS WAS ON A STATE RURAL ROUTE.
MY RADIO KEEPS CHANGING STATIONS AS I AM DRIVING. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS WHEN I HIT A BUMP, SOMETIMES IT JUST DOES IT RANDOMLY ON ITS OWN. IT HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING OR STATIONARY. VERY FRUSTRATING!

WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, BOTH WARNING INDICATORS TURNED OFF AND THE BRAKE PEDAL AND STEERING WHEEL STIFFENED. THE BRAKE PEDAL AND STEERING WHEEL REMAINED STIFF UNTIL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BROWN DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (170 I-35, DEVINE, TX 78016, (830) 665-6401) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V675000 (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
DRIVERS SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON.VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY.
I HAVE HAD PROBLEM WITH DODGE JOURNEY NOT STARTING. I'VE SPENT MONEY ON EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE JUMP STARTS, ALONG WITH NEW BATTERY, BUT PROBLEM PERSISTS AND THE SERVICE GARAGE CAN'T GET IT TO CONSISTENTLY START AS ALL CARS SHOULD! WINTER HAS COME EARLY AND I FEAR BEING STRANDED IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES. ALSO BIG INCONVENIENCE. I'VE DRIVEN FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND FEEL I BOT AND PAID FOR A RELIABLE CAR, BUT HAVE NOT GOTTEN WHAT I PAID FOR. DODGE HAS MY MONEY AND I HAVE THEIR JUNK. I HOPE MY LITTLE GRANDCHILDREN ARE NOT WITH ME WHEN THE CAR WON'T START! SO FAR THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED WHEN I LEAVING HOME. I CAN'T SEEM TO GET ANSWERS FROM THE SERVICE GARAGE WITHOUT POURING MORE MONEY INTO IT AND STILL NO RESOLUTION!
Battery, car started turning off. Turned off on us when we made a stop right after getting off of freeway, luckily no car were coming. Changed Battery but still had problems. Then check engine light turned on, car stared pulling, had a mechanic check it and said it was the engine. We would have to replace it and that's those kind of cars we're having a lot of problems.
MY HEADREST DEPLOYED SUDDENLY AND BROKE APART INTO TWO PIECES WHILE I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ON A FLAT, LEVEL HIGHWAY. BEING SO CLOSE TO MY EARS, THE NOISE WAS VERY LOUD. MY HEAD WAS THRUST FORWARD IN A DOWNWARD FASHION. I INITIALLY THOUGHT I WAS REAR-ENDED, BUT REALIZED THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND ME. IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 56,000 MILES ON MY CAR. I AM THE ONLY DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE AND DO NOT TRANSPORT CHILDREN. THERE WAS NO ABUSE/NEGLECT ON MY PART THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED OR CONTRIBUTED TO THIS SITUATION. MY NECK IS A LITTLE SORE, BUT I SUFFERED NO SERIOUS INJURY. I DO NOT FEEL IT IS SAFE TO HAVE MY SISTER IN MY CAR BECAUSE SHE HAS HAD A PREVIOUS NECK SURGERY. IF IT HAD HAPPENED TO HER, I DO NOT BELIEVE SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN AS LUCKY. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DEFECT.
THIS VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A ONE VEHICLE CRASH. THE VEHICLE STRUCK A UTILITY POLE AT 28MPH. THE IMPACT WAS IN THE CENTER FRONT. THE CAR HAS BEEN DOWNLOADED USING BOSCH DATA RETRIEVAL SOFTWARE. I AM A CRASH RECONSTRUCTION TROOPER WITH THE OHIO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL. ALL DATA IN THE DOWNLOAD WOULD NORMALLY INDICATE THAT THE AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELTS WOULD HAVE ACTIVATED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RETURN HOSE ON THE POWER STEERING UNIT FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO R. M. STOUDT, INC. (800 23RD ST SW, JAMESTOWN, ND 58401, (800) 279-2886) TO HAVE THREE OTHER RECALLS SERVICED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V273000(STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
THE FRONT PASSENGER HEADREST SNAPPED APART WITHOUT ANY CONTACT. THE SUV WAS PARKED WHEN IT HAPPENED.
ACTIVE-RESTRAINT HEAD REST ISSUE. THERE BEEN NO IMPACTS TO THE VEHICLE BUT HEAD REST HAS BEEN DEPLOYED.
HEADREST ON PASSENGER SIDE POPPED OUT WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS GETTING OUT OF THE CAR. I TRIED TO PUSH IT BACK IN BUT THE PLASTIC THAT CLAMPS AROUND THE METAL BAR WAS SNAPPED OFF.
THE ENGINE HAS STARTED TO CUT OFF WHEN I DECELERATE, SUCH AS TO MAKE A TURN OR COME TO A STOP. THIS IS DANGEROUS IN MID-TRAFFIC, ESPECIALLY WHEN MY FAMILY IS IN THE CAR. IT HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES AND IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT, AS IN THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS YESTERDAY. I SEE THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCING THIS WITH THEIR DODGE JOURNEYS AND WONDERING WHY THERE ISN'T A RECALL FOR THIS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS OCCURRENCE.
I WAS CHARGED OVER $1100 FOR AN ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY AND LABOR. THEN WHEN I WAS GIVEN MY BILLING PAPERWORK THE MILAGE WAS WRITTEN IN AS 155000 MILES. MY ACTUAL MILEAGE WAS OVER 167000 MILES THEREBY VOIDING ALL WARRANTIES AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTO. I HAD TO RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND FORCE THEM TO FIX THE PAPERWORK. JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO I TOOK MY CHALLENGER IN TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION SERVICED. THEY OVERFILLED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. AGAIN I HAD TO RETURN TO HAVE THE ISSUE RESOLVED. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THE LAKE CITY DEALERSHIP FOR 6 YEARS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WHEN IT WAS SUNBELT . NOW IT IS ROUNDTREE MOORE AND I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES SINCE THE CHANGE.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT. WHEN WE RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE, THE HEAD REST WAS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING, NO ACCIDENT AT THE TIME THAT THE HEAD REST WAS FOUND DEPLOYED.
MY CAR WAS PARKED AND I WAS SITTING INSIDE WHEN THE PASSENGER HEADREST AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THANKFULLY MY PASSENGER WASN'T SITTING THERE AT THE TIME.
PASSENGER HEADREST JUST SNAPPED APART WHILE PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY. NO ACCIDENT AND NOT IN MOTION.
TRANSMISSION UNEXPECTEDLY DOWNSHIFTS AT ANY SPEEDS CAUSING THE ENGINE TO RED LINE AND THE SPEED GOVERNOR CUTS OFF THE FUEL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE ONLY WAY TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM IS TO RESTART THE ENGINE. HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION.
MY ABS / TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS ON. AND MY WINDOWS REFUSE TO ROLL DOWN AND MY LIGHTS ON THE INSIDE OF MY CAR FLICKER WHEN DRIVING.
MY JOURNEY KEEPS STALLING ON ME ESPECIALLY WHEN STOPPED (RED LIGHTS,STOP SIGNS, IN TRAFFIC ETC.) AT ONE POINT IT EVEN STALLED OUT ON ME WHILE DRIVING AND I COULDN'T MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL, BRAKES, NOTHING! IT COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. I WAS LUCKY THAT THAT TIME I WAS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN IN A CAR ACCIDENT. AT FIRST THE FUEL CAP LIGHT KEPT COMING ON, DODGE DEALER TOLD US TO JUST HAVE THE CAP REPLACED (WE DID) BUT THE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF STILL AND NOT RESOLVING ANY PROBLEMS. THEN A RED LIGHTENING BOLT CAME ON A COUPLE TIMES AND THAT'S WHEN MY CAR WOULD SHUT OFF AT A STOP AND TRY RESTARTING ON ITS OWN. NOW AT THE MOMENT NO LIGHTS ARE ON AND IT'S STILL STALLING. AND EVERY TIME IS STALLS IT'S ALWAYS IN DRIVE AND WILL COMPLETELY TURN OFF. IT HAS STALLED IN PARKED A FEW TIMES ALSO BUT MAJORITY OF THE TIME IS WHEN STOPPED IN DRIVE. THIS IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE 3 KIDS WHO ARE ALWAYS WITH ME. I CAN'T IMAGINE IF SOMETHING HAPPENED BECAUSE OF THIS. I'VE DONE MY RESEARCH AND NOTICED THERE ARE MANY MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. DODGE NEEDS TO RECALL THE VEHICLE QUICKLY BEFORE THEY RUN INTO A LAWSUIT.
THE HEADREST DEPLOYED AND PLASTIC SAFETY CLIPS APPEAR TO BE BROKEN. DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT SEAT HEADREST EXPLODED FOR NO REASON. THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND OF THE VEHICLE TO CAUSE THIS ISSUE. THE HEADREST CAN NOT BE FIXED OR EASILY REPLACED. ALSO, WITHIN THE LAST YEAR THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT MECHANISM HAS MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING THE SEAT BELT TO NOT BE ABLE TO MOVE UP AND DOWN AS INTENDED AND NOT ALWAYS RETRACTING.
SOMETHING HAS GONE VERY WRONG IN MY TRANSMISSION. POSSIBLY TORK CONVERTER OR A PUMP CAUSING 2 ERROR CODES AND A HUGE WINDING NOISE UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE. THE ERROR CODES ARE P083B FOR THE TFPS AND P0944 HYDRAULIC PRESSURE UNIT. MY CAR IS 2013 AND WAS PURCHASED ON APRIL 7TH WITH 44,011 MILES ON IT. I HAVE SINCE PUT 14000 MILES ON IT WITH THE NEEDED AND PROPER OIL CHANGES EVERY 5000 MILES. I WAS DRIVING AND STARTED HEARING A HIGH PITCHED WINDING NOISE. I STARTED TO HEAD TO SOMEPLACE I WOULD BE ABLE TO PARK AND STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. ONCE IT TURNED GREEN I PROCEEDED TO PRESS ON THR GAS AND THE CAR DIDNT MOVE RATHER SLID BACKWARD ALMOST HITTING THE CAR BEHIND ME. I HAD MY 3 YEAR OLD IN THE CAR PROPERLY RESTRAINED IN THE CORRECT CAR SEAT BUT IT WAS SCARY. I THEN HAD IT TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP AND GOT A DIAGNOSIS OF NEEDING TO REBUILD MY TRANSMISSION. SO A 2013 DODGE JOURNEY NEEDS THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT AT 58K MILES.
MY DRIVER SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE PARKED. IT WAS FINE THE DAY BEFORE, CAME OUT THIS MORNING AND IT HAD ACTIVATED. AFTER INSPECTION, SEVERAL PLASTIC RETAINING CLIPS THAT HOLD A METAL PIN INSIDE THE HEADREST WERE BROKEN. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THERE IS A LACK OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. WHEN TURNING RIGHT THERE IS NO POWER STEERING ASSIST AT ALL, WHEN TURNING LEFT THERE IS SOME ASSIST. MY WIFE DRIVES THIS VEHICLE & TAKES OUR KIDS TO & FROM SCHOOL DAILY. I HAVE SWITCHED CARS WITH HER FOR THE TIME BEING.
CRANK SENSOR, CUT OUT TWICE WITHIN 2 YEARS TIME AND HAD TO GET REPLACED! EACH TIME, VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION! VERY DANGEROUS! HAD TO TOW VEHICLE EACH TIME. MY CHILD WAS IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME THE FIRST TIME. I EXPECT FULL REIMBURSEMENT FOR EACH INCIDENT. *JS
WE HAVE TAKEN OUR VEHICLE INTO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 5 TIMES SINCE AUGUST 2016 FOR THE SAME SAFETY CONCERNS OF JERKING AND STALLING WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. THE MOST RECENT EPISODE OCCURRED TODAY. WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE NEAR MISS ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE STALLING. THE DEALERSHIP HAS CHARGED US ALMOST $2000 OVER THESE LAST 3 YEARS. THESE CHARGES HAVE INCLUDED REPLACEMENT OF TIRES, BATTERIES AND SENSORS WITHOUT RESOLUTION OF PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP US RESOLVE THIS ISSUE FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGERS WHO ARE TRAVELLING IN OUR VEHICLE AND THOSE WHO ARE DRIVING AROUND US. THANK YOU.
VEHICLE NEVER SHIFTS RIGHT. DOORS SOMETIMES WON'T UNLOCK LEAVING ME STUCK INSIDE. STRANDED ON SIDE OF ROAD AFTER BATTERY SAVER LIGHT CAME ON AND ABS LIGHT CAUSING MY CAR RPMS TO FLY UP TO 4 REPEATEDLY AND I COULD BARELY GET OFF THE MAIN ROAD SAFELY BEFOELRE THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING. WHEN I GO TO TURN IT BACK ON SAYS MY CAR IS NOT IN PARK WHICH IT IS. I REALLY HOPE I'M NOT DEALING WITH WHAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE DEALT WITH WITH THIS VEHICLE. MY CAR IS ABOUT TO HIT 70K MILES. I GET EVERY SERVICE DONE TO IT. ALSO GOT THE BRAKES DONE NEW AND THEY STILL SQUEAK.
I'VE HAD BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS ACTIVE HEADREST BRAKE WITH OUT WARNING. THE PASSENGER SIDE ONE BROKE WITH THE CAR RUNNING PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY AT 75K, PASSENGER WAS STRUCK. THE DRIVERS SIDE ONE BROKE OVERNIGHT WHEN NO ONE WAS AROUND AT 85K, IN A DRIVEWAY. BOTH WERE BROKE AND NEED REPLACING, THE ACTUATOR WAS STILL IN THE LOCKED POSITION (NOT DEPLOYED).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THEIR VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER TWO RECALLS REGARDING THE ABS SYSTEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER HAVING THE REPAIRS COMPLETED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THEY PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO MOVE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO FAIL TO STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE THEN TURNED TO THE RIGHT AND CRASHED INTO THE CURB ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A STOP.NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE FRONT-END OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. THE CONTACT HAD NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THEY HAD THEIR SPOUSE COME TO SLOWLY DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THEN HAD THEY HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER (ADDRESS: 1880 HIGHWAY 290 WBRENHAM, TX 77833-5216; PHONE: 979-291-2785) WHO STATED THAT THE SPEED CONTROL SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS OTHER REPAIRS, WHICH, WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE'S ABS SYSTEM WAS STILL FAILING. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER WHO REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

ALTERNATOR SHOT, AND CHARGING SYSTEM, REQUIRES COMPLETE RE WIRE AS OF 8-13 / 3 BURNT WIRES, MECHANIC CALLED AUTO ELECTRIC SPECIALIST, INDICATED COMPLETE CHARGING SYSTEM BURNT UP.
2013 DODGE JOURNEY APPROXIMATELY 100000 MILE. UNEVEN WEAR ON REAR TIRES (EXCESSIVE INSIDE WEAR) DUE TO CAMBER. FOR SOME REASON THE REAR WHEELS ON BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE TILT INWARD CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE INNER TIRE. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN RECENTLY SERVICED WITH AN ALIGNMENT, THE REAR CAMBER IS NOT ADJUSTABLE STOCK AND REQUIRES AFTERMARKET CONTROL ARMS TO ALLOW FOR ADJUSTMENT WHICH WHERE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 1000 MILE SINCE THE TIRE REPLACEMENT AND ALIGNMENT AND THERE IS ALREADY NOTICEABLE WEAR ON THE INSIDE OF THE REAR TIRES. DUE TO THE CAMBER ISSUE THE VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
FOR TWO YEARS BATTERY HAS BEEN UNABLE TO HOLD CHARGE, EVEN WHEN REPLACED NEW, ENGINE RIDING ROUGH TO COMPLETE STOP IN ROAD, NO FLASHERS ETC. ALTERNATOR REPLACED COMPLETE ELECTRIC HARNESS BURNT, ALL FIXED STILL WILL NOT HOLD BATTERY CHARGE. NO CAR FOR TWO MONTHS. CAR STALLED IN ROAD.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED I WAS TOLD TO CHANGE THE ALTERNATOR WHICH I DID. AN HOUR LATER THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN THEN I WAS TOLD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY WHICH I DID. AFTER AN HOUR DRIVE THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN I WAS TOLD THE BATTERY SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE NEXT DAY THE CAR DIED COMPLETELY I HAD TO GET TOWED. I WAS TOLD TO GET AN ALTERNATOR FROM MOPAR WHICH I DID. NEW BATTERY ANOTHER NEW ALTERNATOR A NEW SENSOR NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.

THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. SCHUMACHER CHRYSLER DODGE LOCATE AT 2102 FEDERAL HWY A, DELRAY BEACH, FL 33483, AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
