Passenger head rest popped open with great force barely missing my head as I was getting into my seat. Now i fear it is a matter of time till the driver head rest pops open. May cause great damage to other drivers if it happens while driving.
The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera displayed an upside-down image. Back up camera is upside down, blurry or does not work, when in reverse
With less than 29000 miles the backup camera has failed. While trying to back up and use rear view mirror it’s almost impossible to see what’s behind the vehicle. Dodge says this vehicle is out of warranty because of over 36 months. What’s it take 10-12 kids to be backed over in-order to issue recalls. There’s numerous others complaining about this. Same issue is occurring in my vehicle as a recall that has occurred with years up to 2016. Upon startup in cold weather the power steering fluid leaks from the vehicle.
Vehicle is shifted into reverse but car will not move. Vehicle is only 4 years old with roughly 73,000 miles on it. After speaking with a mechanic, it has been found that there are issues with the transmission. Transmission will need to be replaced or rebuilt.
As I was driving, I began to park. I put my foot on the brake and proceeded to put car in reverse. The back up camera began to flash. Once it stopped flashing, the image on the screen was upside down. It’s is available for inspection. This is a safety hazard. The purpose of the camera is so that people can see what’s behind them. If the Camry isn’t functioning properly it’s can cause accidents. No warning. The camera just randomly did this. And since then the camera has been upside down. I have never had this issue before. I cut the car off for days at a time and the issue will not go away. I googled the issue and a lot of people with Dodge automobiles have had similar issues.
I purchased my 2019 dodge journey in 2022 and about two months maybe after purchasing it, my backup camera went out. At first, it came in and out- only working occasionally. But then it completely stopped and hasn’t worked since. There’s a line through the image where the camera use to show up in the mirror. I understand some 2019 dodge journeys has recalls for this, but not my VIN. So I wanted to report that this one also has the same issue.
The back up camera started to go in and out suddenly. Then all of sudden I started to get an upside down imade with red and green stripes and with stripe at the top. I saw the journey up to 2018 has a recall for this issue but mine is a 2019 and this just randomly started on 12/08/2022.
The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Journey. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V552000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while shifted to reverse(R), the back over prevention camera displayed the image upside down. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
A few years ago the passenger seatbelt beeper stopped working. Unsure if air bags will deploy in a crash or not since the seat isn't detecting a person. Mentioned to dealership and told it would be a costly repair to check all the wiring.
Vehicle: 2019 Dodge Journey Issue: Rearview Camera Failure / Malfunction I am reporting an ongoing issue with the factory-installed backup camera in my 2019 Dodge Journey. The camera has been malfunctioning for several years. The camera intermittently displayed a blank screen, glitching image, or the image would appear upside down when shifting into reverse. Over time, the issue worsened, and the camera now fails to display any image at all. This poses a significant safety concern, especially since reverse cameras are a federally required safety feature on vehicles manufactured after 2018. Despite attempted inspections, no clear fix was provided, and I believe this may indicate a manufacturing defect. I am requesting that Chrysler/Stellantis acknowledge this issue and investigate whether other owners have experienced similar problems. A technical service bulletin, warranty extension, or recall may be appropriate, depending on findings. Please advise if any repair support, diagnostic guidance, or goodwill assistance is available to address this safety-critical system failure.
Seat wont close in back seat second row wont close at all it broken itself
All seat have side power move for open and close in second row and front row press down n up area plastic area holder it broke all of 4 of them seat broken for no reason
Rear ended and side swiped by truck going over 75 mph. Collision disabled engine and vehicle. Air bags did not deploy.
My windows won’t open up or close also my passenger door is the only one that can open and close the rest of the doors. My cruise control isn’t working, the back up camera isn’t working at all

Additionally, the contact stated that due to the water entering the vehicle, the inside cabin of the vehicle was moldy. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that water was coming in from a gap. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. While driving I came to a stop sign on a hill and the vehicle shut off on its own and started rolling backwards down the hill. I tried to brake but it wouldn't let me so I was forced to throw it into park so it would stop. This is the second time this has happened where the car shut off on its own while in drive.
Ever time I drive my airbag light will come on and stay on for 5-10 mins then go off for 5-10 mins then come back on. Something is seriously going on with my cars air bags
Bought this vehicle Aug 2020 and backup camera worked fine. Shortly after purchase the backup camera started flickering and would either be upside down or black. During my April 2021 oil change I had the dealership look into it and they said it would be costly and labor intensive to check the wiring so I didn't have anything done. To this day it is 99% of the time upside down. Every once in awhile it will revert back to normal but that's maybe twice a year.
CAR "CLUNKS" WHEN GOING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE, SPORADICALLY. ALSO THE TRANSMISSION "SLIPS" OCCASIONALLY. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, CHANGED ALL ENGINE MOUNTS, NOVEMBER 2020. BROUGHT IT BACK A WEEK LATER WHEN I COULD GET AN APPOINTMENT, STILL DOING IT. THEY CLAIM I AM NOT "STOPPING FULLY" BEFORE GOING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE, AND SAY THEY HAVE DONE ALL THEY COULD. SPOKE TO FRIEND WHO ALSO OWNS A DODGE JOURNEY. SHE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE IT IS OBVIOUSLY DAMAGING THE TRANSMISSION EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS, AND THAT IT IS NOT SLIPPING WHEN ACCELERATING AND CHANGING GEARS (AUTO TRANSMISSION).
TRANSMISSION SPORADICALLY CLUNKS FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. DEALER REPLACED ALL MOTOR MOUNTS. STILL DOES IT.
THE TRANSMISSION IS STALLING AT 25739 MILES. I BOUGHT IT IN APRIL OF 2020, 6 MONTHS AGO. WHEN ACCELERATED THE ENGINE STRUGGLES TO GET OVER 65 MILES AND REVS INCREDIBLY. THEN THE TACHOMETER SHOOTS UP AND DOWN GIVING ME UNSTABLE SPEEDS. THIS HAPPENED ON THE EXPRESSWAY CONTINUOUSLY. IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND I AM TAKING IT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW. THERE IS ALSO A SHAKE I FEEL AND VIBRATION.
TRANSMISSION BANG WHEN TAKING OF FROM A STOP
My 2019 dodge journey back up camera has not worked since i had the car it shows me a yellow earror sticker n is a blind spot from the flashing of the camera not working this is dangouas and could cause major crash i have tryed to get dealer to fix it now i am not under warrenty and can not fix it now this is not safe at all also my fron breaks was fully replaced brand new everything n still leaking something to wear it hard to press on break this back up camera needs to be recalled n fixed this is not right n very unsafe
I RECENTLY TOOK A TRIP TO PIGEON FORGE TENNESEE FROM CHARL3STON WEST VIRGINIA. THE SPEED MOST OF THE DRIVE WAS 65MPH. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 43,000 MILES ON IT. I BOUGHT IT USED BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT THE BRAKES SHOULD ALREADY BE WEARING DOWN. BRAKING DOWN HILL AT 65MPH THE BRAKES SEEMED TO ALMOST BE PULSATING BUT FELT LIKE THE ROTOR MAY HAVE BEEN WARPED AND THE SOUND WAS HORRIBLE! I FELT THE VIBRATIONS EVERY TIME I WOULD BRAKE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT AS I JUST SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON THE CAR ITSELF! CITY DRIVING IS NOT AS BAD BUT IT IS STILL CONCERNING THAT INTERSTATE SPEEDS MAY BE AN ISSUE.
I HAD AN ACCIDENT THIS PASSED JULY 4, 2020 WHERE I HAD NO BRAKES. THAT EXPERIENCE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN (PSTD). I TRAVELED THAT DAY 110 MILE ON THE FREEWAY AND REACHED MY DESTINATION STOPPED TO CHECK ADDRESS, THEN TURNED SLOWLY INTO A DRIVEWAY. MY FRIENDS PULLED THEIR CAR UP SO I CAN PARK BEHIND. I PULLED IN PRESSED ON BRAKES AND REALIZED THERE WERE NO BRAKES WHEN MY FOOT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND CAR STARTED ACCELERATING. MY FRIENDS DRIVE IS ON A DECLINE. VERY HILLING AREA IN HARRISON MI. I STARTING PRAYING ASKING GOD TO NOT HIT THEIR CAR, THEN NOT HIT THEIR HOUSES AND I SAW BUSHES THINKING THEY WOULD STOP ME. BUT TO NO AVAIL THE CAR DROVE THROUGH THEM JUST MISSING A TELEPHONE POLE. MY CAR HEADED BACK TO THE STREET GOING TOWARDS THE HOUSE ACROSS THE STREET. I AM STILL PUMPING THE BRAKES. SO I TURNED TO MY LEFT AND WENT THRU A WOODED FENCE HIT A STONE STUMP AND WENT SAILING (ACCORDING TO THE NEIGHBOR OF THE HOUSE) FOUR FEET INTO THE AIR AND CAME CRASHING DOWN ON A TREE. IN MY MIND I WAS THINKING THIS TREE WILL STOP MY CAR PRAYING NOT ENDING MY LIFE. THE CAR HIT THE TREE AND LANDED ON THE GROUND PROCEEDING TO THE STREET AGAIN. I AM NOW DRIVING DOWN DODGE HWY WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HIGHWAY. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK BUT THE CAR STILL DID NOT STOP. A STREET WAS COMING UP ON THE LEFT SIDE AND I TURNED TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC AND THIS STREET WAS GOING UPHILL AND THE CAR STOPPED. THE CAR HAS BEEN WITH DEALERSHIP SINCE JULY 6,2020 AND 5 WEEKS LATER ON AUGUST 17, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FCA STATING "WE ARE NOT LED TO BELIEVE THAT THE INCIDENT WAS DUE TO A MANUFACTURING RESPONSIBILITY."
I WAS TRAVELING ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY GOING 50 MILES AN HOUR. I NOTICED A LOT OF CONGESTION AHEAD SO I HAD TO LEAN OVER BECAUSE THE CAR HAS BAD BLIND SITES DUE TO HEADRESTS ON ALL SEATS. WHEN I TURNED BACK THERE WERE MANY CARS STOPPED DEAD IN FRONT OF ME. I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES BUT DIDN'T EVEN SLOW DOWN. I REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY NOR DID MY SEAT BELT EVEN TIGHTEN. MY ENTIRE BODY ESPECIALLY ON THE RIGHT SIDE SLAMMED THE STEERING WHEEL. MY KNEE SLAMMED THE COLUMN OR SOMETHING UNDERNEATH THE STEERING COLUMN. I HAVE A PERMANENT MARK. I HAD A SMALL PUNCTURED LUNG ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND MY RIGHT SHOULDER AND ARM WERE INJURED WHICH HAS NOW TURNED INTO RSD. EXTREMELY PAINFUL . I HAD CHRYSLER TEST IT BUT WILL ONLY SEND ME AN EMAIL SAYING NO PROBLEMS. NO REPORT. JUST AN EMAIL SAYING EXACTLY THAT.*DT*DT*JB*JB
WHEN PUSHING THE START BUTTON THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO TURN OVER BUT TAKES AWHILE BEFORE IT CRANKS AND IT USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN IT'S A COLD CRANK AND IT'S BEEN SITTING FOR AWHILE I'M PRETTY SURE IT'S THE FUEL PUMP.ALSO WHENEVER YOUR GETTING IN AND BACKING OUT THE BRAKES SQUEAK PRETTY BAD AND THIS VEHICLE HAS LESS THE 25K MILES ON IT. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, THE VEHICLE'S BACK UP CAMERA FAILED TO ALERT THE CONTACT OF ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE REAR. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT STRUCK THE PARKED VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.
THE VEHICLE'S CHECK ENGINE, THE ESC, AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT, WOULD ALL COME ON AND THE VEHICLE WOULD BOG DOWN AND NOT BE ABLE TO GO ABOVE 40 MPH. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES NOW, IT IS BACK AT DEMPSEY DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR THE 4TH TIME. NO ANSWERS HAVE BEEN FOUND AND CHRYSLER IS NOT REPLACING THE VEHICLE. EVERY TIME IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP MORE THAN I HAVE DRIVEN IT SINCE PURCHASING IT ON JUNE 29TH.
Since we purchased the vehicle in 2019 the backup camera would spoetacticly stop working (black screen with a camera and line through it) or have the camera image upside down.. When we took it into our local dealer, they said it was a software issue updated and said it was fixed.... But we've still have the issue and now they say the camera is faulty and want us to pay out of pocket for a replacement as well as the work and all else... This is a major safety issue and been plaguing Dodge vehicles.
