The contact owns a 2019 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked abnormally while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with transmission failure. The vehicle was serviced under warranty, and the transmission was replaced. Despite the transmission replacement, the failure persisted and became more frequent. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ecosport. The contact stated when he started the vehicle the "low oil pressure" light was illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine needed to be replaced due to a failure of the oil pump. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and became aware that there were numerous complaints on the NHTSA website about the "low oil pressure" failure and subsequent engine damage. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
Door latch for rear tailgate. While traveling the warning light would come on and tell me the tailgate was open. Each time this happened I’d pull over to find the tailgate was not shut tight for no reason. This happened about 4 times. Recently The rear latch was stuck so I couldn’t close the door This happened 2 times. The second time I had to tie a rope to keep it closed. My mechanic told me that the latch mechanism needs to be replaced. The eco sport goes in for repair 3/8. I do not have repair documentation as of this complaint.
I own a 2019 Ford EcoSport, VIN [XXX] , which is subject to recall 23S64 / 23V905 (Engine Oil Pump Belt and Tensioner Replacement - Final Repair). I was informed of this recall in June 2024, yet Ford has advised there is currently no available remedy. This is a serious safety concern. Under 49 U.S.C. Chapter 301 and the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, manufacturers must correct safety defects within a reasonable time and at no cost. Ford's failure to provide a repair, replacement, or refund is a violation of these obligations. I request NHTSA's urgent attention to compel Ford to resolve this recall promptly. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Low oil pressure light came on while driving. I had to pull over immediately after have looked at it is caused by a belt and the whole motor will have to be replaced. Never was he told that the oil pump was the issue all along.
While driving my 2019 ford ecosport start to make noise and a message saying loss of engine oil pressure came on. I have been told that it is do to a broken oil pump belt tensioner and that the motor is now locked up and hasto be replaced. The vehicle was manufactured in February 2019 and if you look at MC-10198600-0001.pdf 71.344KB you will find that this is a now issue that ford is refusing to pay to fix.

The approximate failure mileage was 17,200.
T-boned a vehicle at a intersection and the air bags never deployed.
Driving down interstate and car indicator/ warning light came on low engine oil pressure. Car started running rough. Was able to get car to a repair shop by tow truck only to be told car needs entire engine replacement at only 71,000 miles. No warning of any issues that would require such an expensive fix at such a low mileage. Known flaw in these vehicles yet Ford isn’t being forced to recall and fix the issue that is clearly their fault not customers. Unacceptable! Should be mandatory recall to replace this garbage engine that conveniently needs replace 10,000 miles AFTER warranty runs out. Dangerous to have engine power issues at 55 mph!

It began with having issues with power window sometimes not going up or down, then I started to have problems with the compass on the car always pointing north, then the car lost access to bluetooth and the sync 3 system refused to update. From there the issue with the radio not coming on started and was advised to do master reset, soft reset, then hard reset. Did this multiple times and now the display no longer comes on at all. I have lost the ability of my rear camera, cannot use USB ports and 12v. I have no access to radio, bluetooth, carplay of any kind, went to the dealer about it and they said the APIM module is bad and it will cost around $4,000 to replace. That is ridiculous. This car has been nothing but trouble since about 2 weeks after the warranty expired. I cannot afford to get the thing repaired and am too underwater on the loan to trade it in for a new car. I will never buy a ford again and I've been buying cars from ford for 13 years. This issue needs to have a recall because I have read thousands of reviews about this same issue.
During my commute from work on 9/19/22 in my 2019 Ford EcoSport my oil pressure light came on and I lost all engine power. A low oil pressure notification came across the vehicle's gauge system (above the steering wheel). I was able to get the vehicle home and contacted Conway Ford. After discussion with Conway Ford, I was told I could pay $600 for them to diagnose the vehicle. I reached out to my local mechanic, and he let me know that many of this make and model vehicle were having this same issue. He indicated I would need a new motor due to the way the vehicle was build. I spoke to the local dealership again and was told there were no replacement motors available for purchase. After paying for a vehicle for 18 months that cannot be driven and must be registered and insured (due to the car loan) I reached out Ford Motor beginning in January of 2024 after seeing information on a recall of EcoSports. Ford Motor said they would have a letter coming to me in February and a remedy for these vehicles. The letter was received, but indicated that there is no remedy available at this time and they are hoping to have one at some point in the second quarter of the year. I again reached out to Ford Motor and asked how they intended to handle this and offering no solution they asked me what I wanted. I requested they buy the vehicle back. After several phone calls, Ford Motor agreed to review the vehicle and consider it for buy back and after getting the run around I was denied for the buy back and told I could reach out to the Better Business Bureau (BBB). However, since the vehicle was purchased more than 365 days ago, the BBB recommended I contact Consumer Affairs and NHTSA.
How long is Ford going to get away with no remedy for this? They have been aware of this issue for years. They definitely knew about it when they sold vehicle to me. Of course I wasn't informed by dealer. Now I've had to limit driving for fear mine will succumb to this problem. Vehicle is coming up on 60,000 miles, which is when problem arises in many cases. What is my recourse.? Just stuck paying $35,000 for a vehicle I was misled into purchasing? Got three more years paying $500 a month for car I'm afraid to drive. Check engine light is on more than off. Ford should be accountable. For amount they make, to be knowingly selling a defective product is shameful. Please give this recall the attention it deserves.Stop allowing Ford to ignore whatever fix it is going to take. Which seems is going to be replacing engine. Another inferior engine, no doubt. Hell owners will be still stuck with product that should have been remedied many, many years ago. This wet belt design doesn't last. Repair is quite costly. Something Ford is well aware of. They still keep right on selling cars with these motors they know are crap. Something should have been done about this long time ago, in my opinion.
on 8/16/22, I was driving my car at 35 miles and my car started accelerating and making noise and warning light illuminated and I have to emergency pullover, my 2019 EcoSport have 69,400 miles. Now the Ford dealer said is an TSB on my car and I need to call Ford Company because my extended warranty is expired. The report from dealer said that is an SSM 49918 For loss of engine oil pressure.
Since I leased this car, I’ve had three transmission replacements, a full wiring harness replacement, numerous electrical issues with the display, and now can’t drive it due to engine low oil pressure. This car is nothing but a nightmare.
In 2022 of July-August. No lights came on to warn me or anything and my engine went completely out. I took it in and it was the oil pressure that caused my engine to fail. I had to get a new engine, transmission, and a whole bunch of other new things done to my car. AFTER repairs covered by warranty I continue driving and right away I noticed my car making weird noises (like whirring and purring). I took it into ANOTHER ford dealership. This dealership told me that the OTHER dealership did the repairs all wrong and that my car was a mess under the hood…and BOTH dealerships argued who was going to pay for the repairs . To this day I still hear the whirring even though they claim it’s fixed . Surprise ford of Arizona was the dealership that did repairs, and the Milford Ford was the second dealer who claims the repairs were horrible and screws were loose etc right in front of me(I called ford during this conversation to have it recorded) I have a [XXX] son and I fear to drive my car everyday. I have asked ford to repurchase my vehicle TWICE and no remedy has been done. Now for 3 months of being aware of the recall nothing has been done . The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 34,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
I have tried multiple times to reach Ford Corporate since 6-6-22. They say they called me and there was not voicemail option so they closed my case. I keep opening case numbers with them. On Jun2 2nd, my car was parked, idling in the driveway on an incline. I opened the driver's side door and pushed the off button, the car then started to roll backwards. The door hit me and the car dragged me down the driveway into the street. The car then continued to roll into a neighbor's yard and hit the front of their house. It took out a support beam, the porch, the front brick wall and a window. I opened a claim with my insurance, called the cops. The police did not issue me a ticket since I was not driving the car when the incident happened. I had to go to the ER for multiple injuries where the front tire ran over my leg, a cut head and multiple burns from being dragged on pavement. The neighbors house- luckily no one was hurt, had to have the entire outer wall replaced, brick work, and porch. I am still healing from the accident, I have a major hematoma on my right leg that has caused severe tissue damage. I believe the car did not hold in park and rolled. The car will remain in the body shop for repairs until end of June.
We purchased the car new in July 2020. ON May 28 2022. My daughter did not see a stop sign. She broadsided an on coming pickup. The "cross lane alert" did not sound .. The pre collision braking system did not activate. lucky no one was serious injured. Both vehicles are "totaled" Ford did have a recall on 25,000 vehicles over "pre-Collision breaking" not working in 2020. My vehicle was not one of them.
Oil pump belt shredded without warning at 62,000 miles causing complete engine failure while driving in traffic. Multiple warning lights illuminated, but failure was abrupt and immediate. Car was performing normally and then within a matter of seconds I experienced complete loss of power. Vehicle is presently at the Ford garage. Ford representative told us that the belt for the oil pump shredded and caused loss of oil pressure which lead to a complete loss of power.

I am a new owner within the first year of purchase from Enterprise Car Sales. In the last two -three months when I am driving I smell gasoline inside the car which eventually go's away after 10 -15 minutes. I notice these events when my SUV runs over a pot hole, when accelerating downhill on the freeway and when driving for a extended time with my remote control for speed on. My SUV is available for inspection. Although, nothing has occurred I believe this issue is a safety concern to myself and the public if it is verified to be some sort of gasoline leak. I have recently reported engine and heating/air conditioning concerns to my service dealership within the last 3 months. They have been unable to inspect my SUV due to excessive back-up in service scheduling appointments. There have been no prior symptoms.

While driving on the highway, my car stopped on the road. When I was able to get it to restart, the low pressure oil lights came on, and the engine light came on. I drove my car home. I had it towed to Ford where they have said the oil belt caused the engine to fail. They say it needs a new engine. Cost will be 7300 dollars approximately. The car as about 70,000 miles
I WAS A STOP LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT LET ME RESTART IT. AFTER AWHILE AND A FEW WARNING SYSTEMS THE VEHICLE FINALLY TURNED OVER. AFTER THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO RUN A DIAGNOSTICS WHICH I WAS UNABLE TO SEE. AS I BEGIN TO DRIVE AGAIN THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL CUTS OFF AND CAUSES ME TO TEMPORARILY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AS I'M REGAINING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE THE TRACTION CONTROL TAKES OVER AGAIN AND HELPS ME OUT. I'M NOT SURE AS TO WHAT HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE STILL WAITING FOR THE DEALER TO GET BACK TO ME. BUT WHATEVER IT WAS IT WASN'T SAFE AND PUT ME IN A DANGEROUS SPOT DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 FORD ECOSPORT. AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 40 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, THE SPEED DRASTICALLY REDUCED. ALSO, WHILE THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET AT 78 MPH, THE SPEED ERRONEOUSLY DECELERATED TO 74 MPH. I took my car into the ford dealership in Temecula. California and I wanted the seat repaired to warranty specific help. Right after I purchased the car I was in really bad traffic on the Temecula freeway and I leaned back and the seat made a popping sound. I’m now being told by ford Temecula Gosch dealership service dept that they will not fix the seat because it’s not a defective seat and they will not let me speak to anyone in the warranty dept. I’m hoping you can help me get this seat fixed as it slides when I turn my car to the right or left and now I’m having pain in my right leg and back. I’ve taken my car in several times for help and they just play games.
WHEN SHIFTING FROM REVERSE INTO DRIVE THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS RESULTING IN THE CAR JUMPING FORWARD. SOMETIMES IT ONLY STUMBLES AND IS BARELY NOTICEABLE. OTHER TIMES IT JUMPS FORWARD SEVERAL FEET. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND WE DROVE ANOTHER BRAND NEW CAR THAT HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THEIR MECHANIC SAID IT WAS NORMAL. THIS MAKES TURNING AROUND IN A PARKING LOT OR SMALL SPACE VERY DANGEROUS.
I PURCHASED VEHICLE OCTOBER 2019 AND ASKED PREOWNED DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY I PURCHASED ABOUT THE ISSUE I HAVE: MY VEHICLE HAS DELAYED ACCELERATION AND JERKS ITS WAY THROUGH GEARS WHEN I AM MOVING AT STOP LIGHT OR BACKING UP FROM PARKING SPACE. ALSO STEERING GEAR SHAKES AND ASKED THEM IF IT WAS AN ALIGNMENT ISSUE BUT THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT.
WHILE ON A LONG TRIP I STOPPED ON A SERVICE AREA. WHEN I GOT OFF THE VEHICLE I NOTICED A STRONG HEAT SMELL. WHEN OPEN HOOD I NOTICED TURBO WAS GLOWING RED TOT ALL THE WAY BELOW OXIGEN SENSOR.
WEIRD BURN MARKS HAVE APPEARED ON THE TOP OF MY MUFFLER. I BOUGHT THE CAR ON MARCH 15TH, 2019. I FIRST NOTICED IT ON APRIL 21ST, 2019 (SEE CAR DOC 2 PHOTO). I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT ON MAY 8TH, WHEN IT WAS DETERMINED IT WAS JUST A COSMETIC PROBLEM. IT WAS REPLACED ON MAY 15TH. TODAY, MAY 24TH, 2019, I LOOKED AT IT AND SAW THE SAME PROBLEM STARTING AGAIN (SEE CAR DOC 3 PHOTO). A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY SAW ANOTHER ECOSPORT WITH THE SAME ISSUE, BUT NO ONE CAN IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. I'M GROWING CONCERNED AS IT LOOKS TO BE A BURN, OR SOME KIND OF REACTION WITH MATERIALS. IT LOOKS AS IF SOMETHING IS DRIPPING ONTO THE MUFFLER FROM ABOVE, AND THAT IT'S NOT THE MUFFLER ITSELF WITH THE ISSUE. I ALSO ATTACHED MY SERVICE INVOICE FROM WHEN IT WAS REPLACED THE FIRST TIME.
