YOU LEAKING, HAD TO HAVE REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE. WAS DISCOVERED DURING OIL CHANGE. HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE ON FORD FORUMS. SHOULD THIS BE A RECALL SINCE AFFECTING SO MANY VEHICLES.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA AIRBAGS RECALL. THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR YEARS. THESE PEOPLE ARE STALLING HOPING THAT MANY OF THESE CARS WILL WIND UP IN THE JUNK YARD BEFORE THEY HAVE TO FIX THEM. WHILE THEY ARE SCREWING AROUND THEY SHOULD HAVE TO PAY TO DISABLE THESE AIRBAGS UNTIL THEY GET A FIX AVAILABLE. APPARENTLY IT IS OK WITH THE NTSB THAT I RISK MY LIFE TWICE (IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAVING MY HEAD BLOWN OFF BY THESE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. )
I HAVE A 2007 FORD EDGE SEL PLUS THAT IS IN FOR A BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACEMENT AND FORD WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THEIR IS A EXTENDED WARRANTY OFFERED TO NEWER CARS 2010 AND ABOVE. THE PART NUMBER FOR 2007 AND A 2010 IS THE SAME SO THE PART IS BAD ON BOTH VEHICLES. ON MY VEHICLE WE LOST PARTIAL BRAKING AND IT ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. I CALLED FOR WITH NO HELP THEY REFUSE TO COVER THE PART OR LABOR . THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FORD ISSUED IS 13NO2 BUT THEY WILL ONLY HONOR FOR 2010 OR NEWER EVEN THOUGH THE PART IS THE SAME 2010-2012.
MY BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM IS FAILING. I HAVE REPLACED EVERY OTHER BRAKE COMPONENT WITH OEM EQUIPMENT AND NO CHANGE. MY VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS THE BRAKE PEDAL IS AS SOLID AS A ROCK AND HAS THE FEELING OF "SLIDING ON ICE" YEAR ROUND. THIS PROBLEM HAS PROGRESSED DRAMATICALLY AND QUICKLY. A VERY LOUD HISSING AS IF AIR IS LEAKING BY THE BRAKE PEDAL OCCURS WHEN BRAKING. ABS LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON AND NOTHING ELSE IS AFFECTED SAFETY WISE. VEHICLE SIMPLY BRAKED POORLY AND FEELS LIKE IT WILL NOT STOP. FORD HAS CREATED A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM" FOR MY EXACT ISSUE BUT WILL NOT APPLY THEIR WARRANTY/RECALL HELP TO MY VEHICLE DUE TO THE YEAR (2007). THEY SAID IF IT WAS A 2010 OR NEWER THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. IM HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME PARTS CONSUMERS HAVE WITH THE 2010 MODELS AND NEWER. ITS RIDICULOUS THAT FORD CAN EXCLUDE ME FROM SOMETHING THEY ARE ACCEPTING FAULT FOR. THIS IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AT ITS WORST. I WANT FORD TO FIX MY BRAKE BOOSTER AND SYSTEM COMPONENTS AS NEEDED TO SAFELY BRAKE ON PUBLIC ROADS.
TEAR IN BRAKE BOOSTER DIAPHRAGM. COVERED IN MANY OTHER FORD EDGE MODELS OF THE SAME YEAR, BUT FOR SOME REASON NOT MINE. HOWEVER, FORD DOES NOT SEEM ABLE TO PROVIDE ME AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHY NOT MY CAR SPECIFICALLY. WAS DRIVING AND WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THEY FELT LIKE A ROCK...THEN WENT TO FEELING SUPER SOFT, WITH A HISSING SOUND EVERY TIME THEY WERE APPLIED. BRAKES ALTERNATED BETWEEN FEELING ROCK HARD TO SUPER SOFT WITH HISSING AND I WAS ALMOST UNABLE TO BRAKE SEVERAL TIMES. VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. WHEN CAR WAS PARKED (NOT MOVING), BUT TURNED ON AND BRAKE APPLIED, THERE WAS A LOUD SQUEAL SOUND EACH TIME.

TANAKA RECALL - I WAS PROVIDED NOTICE IN JULY 2016 THAT MY PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAGS WERE ON RECALL AND THAT THEY WOULD LET ME KNOW WHEN PARTS ARE/WERE AVAILABLE. I HAVE CALLED REGULARLY AND STOPPED BY THE DEALERSHIPS REGULARLY AND HAVE BEEN TOLD PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. THIS WAS NEARLY 2 YEARS AGO - THEY TOLD ME I CAN NOT HAVE A PASSENGER IN FRONT OF CAR. THIS HAS PREVENTED ME FROM BEING IN A CARPOOL AT SCHOOL AND HAS BEEN A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE. I RECEIVED YET ANOTHER NOTICED IN DECEMBER 2017 THAT PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. FORGIVE ME, BUT SHOULDN'T I HAVE FULL USE OF MY VEHNICLE? SO FRUSTRATED! I HOPE SOMEONE READS THIS!
TAKATA RECALL, TORQUE CONVERTER SPUTTERING BETWEEN 40-60
CAR HAS SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER, ACCELERATOR DOESN'T WORK, BUT THE CAR DOESN'T ACTUALLY DIE OUT. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS, THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ON HIGHWAYS AND IN TRAFFIC. THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH MANY FORDS AND THE FIX IS THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACEMENT. FORD HAS A CUSTOMER SERVICE DEAL GOING ON TO FIX IT, BUT MY YEAR OF CAR HASN'T BEEN INCLUDED ALTHOUGH I HAVE THE EXACT ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL. I JUST CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER ABOUT THE TAKATA RECALL ON MY CAR. THIS RECALL NOTICE HAS BEEN IN MY POSSESSION FOR AT LEAST 4-5 MONTHS NOW AND IN TALKING TO THE DEALER, THE REPAIR FOR THIS PROBLEM WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL AT LEAST "THE FIRST OF NEXT YEAR". I QUESTION THE TIMELINESS OF THIS REPAIR. I UNDERSTAND THAT PARTS HAVE TO BE MADE, BUT I HAVE HAD THE NOTICE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND THE TIME QUOTE TO GET IT REPAIRED IN AT LEAST 6 MORE MONTHS OUT. UNTIL THEN, I AND MY WIFE ARE DRIVING AN "UNSAFE" VEHICLE. WHAT GIVES???? JUST WONDERING......
BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL- I BARELY HAD THIS TRUCK A YEAR, AND THE BRAKES ARE GIVING ME MAJOR PROBLEMS. WHEN I PRESS THE PEDAL. ITS HARD, AND I HAVE TO ALMOST STAND UP ON IT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I'VE HAD THE PADS AND ROTORS REPLACED, AND THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM. I STARTED DOING RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE BOOSTER.
MASTER CYLINDER PROBLEM CAUSING WEAK BRAKES ON 2007 FORD EDGE SEL REQUIRING MASTER CYLINDER REPLACEMENT.
NO KNOWN BRAKE ISSUE BEFORE AND CAR WAS RECENTLY GIVEN A MAJOR SERVICE CHECK. NO BRAKE ISSUES WERE FOUND DURING THAT CHECK. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN NOTICED HISSING SOUND AND BRAKE FOOT PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR WHEN APPLYING BREAKS. WENT IN FIRST IN APRIL AND BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM WAS REPLACED. RECALL WAS NEWER MODEL EDGES SO WE HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. WENT BACK IN LESS THAN 90 DAYS LATER IN JULY BECAUSE BRAKES WERE NOT FILLING RIGHT AGAIN. MASTER CYLINDER LEAK WAS FOUND. WAS NOT FOUND THE FIRST TIME SO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT GAVE US A MANAGER DISCOUNT. BRAKE BOOSTER BLEED AND MASTER CYLINDER LEAK. REPLACED BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM ($961.38) AND MASTER CYLINDER ($290.23). I FEEL THAT THE BREAK BOOSTER SYSTEM AND CONNECTION TO MASTER CYLINDER SHOULD BE PART OF RECALL FOR THIS MODEL EDGE. SINCE BRAKE ISSUES WERE NOT FOUND IN AN EARLIER MASTER SERVICE (I CAN SEND THAT INVOICE AS WELL), I THINK THE BRAKE SYSTEM WAS BOUND TO FAIL AS I HAVE READ IN THE RECALL FOR NEWER MODELS.
PAINT ON HOOD OF VEHICLE IS PEELING OFF
TAKATA RECALL..MY VEHICLE WAS AFFECTED AND I CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD PUT ME ON A LIST AND I NEVER GOT A CALLBACK. THIS WAS IN APRIL 2017 WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED.
TAKATA RECALL: THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS RECALLED ON JUNE 1, 2016. CURRENT OFFICIAL RECALL STATUS IS "RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP HAD SENT ME A LETTER STATING THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG AND THEY WOULD NOTIFY ME WHEN THEY BECAME AVAILABLE. TODAY IS MARCH 27, 2017 AND THE PARTS ARE STILL UNAVAILABLE. ITS BEEN 10 MONTHS, AND IT IS STILL DANGEROUS TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY FOR MY PASSENGERS. TO MY KNOWLEDGE I CANNOT SELL THE VEHICLE EITHER, UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. THIS IS VERY PROBLEMATIC AND DANGEROUS. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY EFFORTS TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE, AND SOLVE WHATEVER PROBLEM IS CAUSING THE DELAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE STOCK TRANSFER CASE ON THE VEHICLE WORE OUT. DUE TO THE TRANSFER CASE WEARING OUT, WHICH SENT POWER FROM THE TRANSMISSION TO THE FOUR WHEELS, THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN DRIVEN AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
MY STEERING WHEEL SHAKES BAD. MY WHEELS VIBRATE SEEMS LIKE THEY ABOUT TO COME OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING. MY SPEED REDUCES ITSELF FROM FAST TO SLOW.

FORD DEALER HAS MY 2007 FORD EDGE DUE TO IT STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH ON A HIGHWAY CAUSING MY ENGINE TO DIE SO I HAD TO GET TOWED HOME AND OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. THE DEALER ORIGINALLY THOUGHT IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY BUT THEY HAVE NOW DETERMINED THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. INSTEAD IT IS THE PCM WHICH IS COSTING ME OVER $1500, IF THAT EVEN FIXES THIS. PLUS I HAVE BEEN PAYING FOR A RENTAL CAR BECAUSE THE DEALERS DON'T HAVE FREE LOANER VEHICLES. SO THIS WHOLE THING IS GOING TO COST ME ABOUT $2000. NOW I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM, AND CAN CLEARLY TELL THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR INSTEAD IT IS A FAULTY PART THAT SO MANY OTHER OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING. I CLEARLY SEE FORD HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND THEY SHOULD BE TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MISTAKE. FORD HAS REFUSED TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COSTLY FOR THE VEHICLE OWNER. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A FORD BEFORE AND LIKELY WILL NOT AGAIN BECAUSE OF THIS BAD EXPERIENCE.
BAD ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY AND IT'S SENSOR. THIS IS A COMMON AND COSTLY REPAIR WITH FORD VEHICLES BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED A RECALL. IT IS DANGEROUS AS IT CAUSES YOUR VEHICLE TO COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY WHEN ACCELERATING OR RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING 60 MPH AND MY CAR SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN AND LOCKED UP THEN WAS UNABLE TO START SO I HAD TO GET IT TOWED.
TAKATA RECALL I CANNOT FIND REPLACEMENTS FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAGS. I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING RECALLS AND HAVE CALLED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THEY ALWAYS DENY HAVING PARTS AND REFUSE TO TAKE MY NAME ON A LIST WHEN THEY ARE AVAILABLE. I TRIED CALLING FORD CORPORATE AND THEY WERE NOT HELPFUL. WHAT AM I TO DO?
I WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY, SLOWING DOWN ON THE RAMP, AND I LOST COMPLETE LOSS OF ACCELERATION AS I CAME TO A STOP AT THE LIGHT. UP ON GREEN SIGNAL, EVEN WITH PUSHING OF THE GAS PEDAL, MY CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE. AND IN A FEW SECONDS, THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGED VIOLENTLY WITH A HUGE NOISE AND LED TO SUDDEN ACCELERATION, FOLLOWED BY LOSS OF ACCELERATION AGAIN. I TRIED PUSHING THE PEDAL ONE MORE TIME BUT REALIZED THAT THERE WAS NO ACCELERATION. I THEN STOPPED AND GOT MY VEHICLE TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEIR FINDING IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED COMPLETELY.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKE BOOSTER, FRONT BRAKES AND REAR BRAKES. THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS ON THE 2007 BRAKE BOOSTERS FOR THIS YEAR/MODEL BUT APPARENTLY FORD WILL NOT REIMBURSE ME $982.05 BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I WOULD LIKE REIMBURSEMENT FOR THIS COST.
VERY HESITANT TO PICK UP SPEED AT TIMES, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY ON 2 OCCASIONS OUT SIDE OF A WEEK , I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP, MY BREAK PEDAL WOULD DO ANYTHING, IT WOULDN'T GO DOWN FOR ME TO STOP, THE 1ST TIME I WAS DRIVING AND TRIED TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND COULDNT STOP THE SECOND TIME WAS ON A BUSY HWY AND I ALMOST HIT A CAR AT A STOP LIGHT, BECAUSE MY BREAKS DIDNT WORK. . I LIVE IN UTAH-ZONE C WHICH STATED "ARE NOT AFFECTED AT THIS TIME. HUMIDITY ZONES ARE PRIORITY. MY RELATIVES LIVE IN MINNESOTA. I WAS BORN IN MINNESOTA. IT SEEMS FROM FORD'S SIDE THAT AS LONG AS I DO NOT DRIVE OUT OF THE UTAH STATE BORDER I AM LESS APT TO HAVE A SERIOUS ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE NEXT DAY, THE NEWLY INSTALLED IGNITION COIL CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT USED A TOWEL TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER AND THE SIX IGNITION COILS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL, BUT PROMISED TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

REQUIRED IGNITION COIL 1 REPLACEMENT, ECMPCM REPLACEMENT, SPARK PLUGS, FUEL INJECTOR, PLENUM, ECMPCM REFLASH, 2300 DOLLARS, AND THEN THE CAR DIED 20 MILES LATER, WITH P0720 AND P0722 ERRORS.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WHEN I SUDDENLY LOST POWER. I MANAGED TO SOMEHOW GET MY CAR OFF THE ROAD AND EXIT THE HIGHWAY (I WAS JUST ABOUT TO THE EXIT WHEN THIS HAPPENED). IT WAS LOOKED AT BY A FORD DEALER WHO SAID THE PCM DIED AND TOOK OUT AT LEAST THREE COIL PACKS. TOLD ME IF I DROVE IT ANY FURTHER IT WOULD LIKELY CATCH FIRE. UP TO THIS POINT I HADN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. IT WAS RUNNING FINE. THIS ALL HAPPENED SO QUICKLY AND IN SUCH A DANGEROUS LOCATION THAT IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. UPON RESEARCHING PLACES TO FIX THE ISSUE, I NOTICED A RATHER LARGE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE AND THIS SAME MAKE MODEL AND CAR YEAR.
