TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. SUMMARY: PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACEMENT SAFETY RISK: THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR COULD RUPTURE IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WERE THE SUPPLEMENTAL FRONTAL AIRBAGS ARE DESIGNED TO DEPLOY. THIS DEFECT REPORT IS IN RESPONSE TO DIRS 17E001, 17E002, 17E003. FORD IS NOT AWARE OF ANY REPORTS OF ACCIDENT OR INJURY RELATED TO THIS CONDITION.

TAKATA RECALL THIS RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED NEARLY A YEAR AND A HALF AGO AND REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. I WAS RECENTLY TOLD THAT FORD WOULD PROVIDE A RENTAL VEHICHLE TO USE UNTIL PARTS COME IN. THE RENTAL VEHICLE WILL COST $5 PER DAY AND NONE ARE ACTUALLY AVAILABLE TO USE. I FREQUENTLY DRIVE WITH PASSENGERS AND AM FEARFUL FOR THEIR SAFETY - THIS HAS GONE ON TOO LONG.

THIS ISN'T SATISFACTORY AS MY CAR WOULD HAVE TO BE PLACED IN STORAGE OR AT LEAST NOT DRIVEN. THIS COULD LEAD TO SEAL LEAKS, BATTERY FAILURE AND POSSIBLE RODENT INFESTATIONS.

DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS CLOSE, BUT DO NOT LATCH. THEY ALSO WILL NOT LOCK. DOORS ARE NOT SECURE AND WILL RANDOMLY OPEN. THE DOOR OPEN INDICATION LIGHT IS DISPLAYING ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THIS HAPPENS WHEN CLOSING THE DOORS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED. DOORS ARE NOT SAFE OR SECURELY LATCHING. HAPPENING IN COLD WEATHER.
TAKATA RECALL - I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT DUE TO THE TIME IT'S TAKING TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I RECEIVED MY FIRST NOTICE IN JULY, 2016 AND NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED. I AM UNABLE TO HAVE PASSENGERS IN MY FRONT SEAT. IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO INFLATE THE SHRAPNEL COULD INJURY PASSENGERS IN THE BACKSEAT OF MY CAR. I AM UNABLE TO USE MY CAR IN THE CAPACITY THAT I BOUGHT IT FOR.

TAKATA RECALL MY VEHICLE WAS ONE OF THE MILLIONS IDENTIFIED AS HAVING AN AIRBAG THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN A FLORIDA VEHICLE SINCE 2008 SO IT HAS DEFINITELY BEEN EXPOSED TO THE TYPES OF CONDITIONS THAT AFFECT THE AIRBAG. WITHOUT RECEIVING ANY WORD ON WHEN A FIX WILL BE AVAILABLE MAKES THE VEHICLE USELESS FOR MY FAMILY. DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN A 2007 FORD EDGE WITH 130K MILES. ENGINE STARTS TO LOSE POWER SUDDENLY AT SPEED, BUT STILL RUNS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS, ODOR OF PLASTIC MELTING. MANAGE TO LIMP OFF THE HIGHWAY WITH A VIBRATING NOISES COMING FROM THE ENGINE. MECHANIC REPORTS THAT 3 OF THE 6 COILS ARE 'MELTED'. ONE IS VERY BADLY MELTED. THE PCM IS ALSO FRIED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. REPAIR BILL IS GOING TO BE OVER $2500 FOR WHAT SEEMS TO BE A FAILED IGNITION COIL. *TR

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CYLINDER TWO COIL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, WITHIN MINUTES, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CYLINDER 2 COIL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE PCM NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
TAKATA RECALL-I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING MY VEHICLE WITH THIS RECALL ON MY CAR. I HAVE HAD IT FOR WELL OVER A YEAR, AND THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY. I AM CONCERNED NOT ONLY FOR MY SAFETY, BUT FOR THE SAFETY OF MY SMALL CHILD AS WELL.

2007 FORD EDGE TRANSMISSION JOLTS AFTER DECELERATION AND PUSHING THE GAS AGAIN. THIS SOMETIMES ALSO IS FOLLOWED BY SLUGGISH BEHAVIOR. FORD JUST KEEPS NOT FINDING NOTHING "WRONG" EVEN AFTER INSPECTION, REPLACED PARTS, AND VIDEO OF THE EVENTS TAKING PLACE. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF REPORTS OF SIMILAR ISSUES ONLINE. SOUNDS LIKE FORD NEEDS A RECALL BAD ON THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES! THIS EVENT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED. FORD SAYS NO PROBLEMS EXIST.

I CALLED FORD TO FIND OUT WHEN PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE AND FORD SAID THE PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN PROCURED AND THERE IS NO ESTIMATED DATE FOR A FIX FOR MY VEHICLE. HOW CAN FORD SAY NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE WITH NO REAL INTENTION OF EVER OBTAINING THEM? HOW CAN A DEALER SELL A VEHICLE WITHOUT DISCLOSING A SAFETY ISSUE SO IMPORTANT THAT THERE IS A NATIONAL RECALL? WHAT IS OUR GOVERNMENT DOING TO PROTECT CITIZENS?

I WAS DRIVING AND NOTICED MY RIGHT BLINKER FLASHING QUICKLY SO I GOT A NEW REAR RIGHT TURN SIGNAL BULB. WHEN REPLACING THE BULB I NOTICED THAT THE BULB WAS MELTED INTO THE SOCKET. I CHECKED THE OTHER SIDE AND IT WAS CHARRED AND MELTED EVEN WORSE THEN THE BULB THAT WASN'T WORKING. THIS IS VERY SCARY AND A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT COULD START A FIRE AND MY CHILD IS IN THE BACK SEAT!
TAKATA RECALL: THERE IS NOT A REMEDY AVALIABLE FOR MY VEHICLE'S RECALL AND I CAN NOT SELL IT DUE TO THE THE DE-VALUATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL. I HAVE ALSO NOT EVER RECEIVED A LETTER REGARDING THIS RECALL. I BELIEVE FORD IS AT FAULT AND SHOULD REPLACE MY VEHICLE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO ME.
HISSING NOISE. FEELS LIKE I HAVE NO POWER BREAKS. THEY SAID MY BREAK BOOSTER IS OUT
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR GEAR WILL SLIP INTO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE, EVEN WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS. THERE IS A "CLUNK" WHEN MOVING THE TRANSMISSION FROM PARK INTO DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE.
NO ONE HAS PARTS TO FIX THE RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR MORE THAN A YEAR TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. MY TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AT 40 MILES PER HOUR AND 75 MILES PER HOUR. THE PROBLEM STARTED 10 MONTHS AGO AND SEEMS TO BE WORSE. I'VE LOOKED ONLINE AND THIS SEEMS TO BE THE MAJOR COMPLAINT WITH THESE VEHICLES. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
DOME LIGHTS BY REAR VIEW MIRROR DO NOT GO OFF. SINCE THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MANY FORD VEHICLES; I FEEL IT SHOULD BE A RECALL. I GOT A NOTICE MONTHS AGO ABOUT A RECALL ABOUT THE TAKATA AIR BAGS ON MY FORD EDGE, ALSO. STILL AWAITING THE REPAIR. THE RECALL SAID TO WAIT FOR THEM TO CALL.
POWER BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED. DOESN'T HOLD VACUUM.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME STIFF AND WAS SLOW TO ACTIVATE WHEN DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAD A LEAK IN THE DIAPHRAGM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.
BRAKES FELT SPONGY AND HAD A HISSING NOISE, AND WITH PUMPING OR QUICK AND FIRM PRESSING OF THE PEDAL, THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD BECOME ROCK HARD AND NOT EASILY STOP THE VEHICLE. FORD HAS ALREADY ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS EXACT ISSUE FOR 2010-2013 UNDER BULLETIN 13N02 (10 YEAR 150K MILES) SO THEY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM. 2007-2009S HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM YET HAVE BEEN IGNORED. FORD TECH SAYS ITS THE BRAKE BOOSTER DIAPHRAGM.
