TAKATA RECALL: NO PARTS AVAILABLE FROM FORD TO REPAIR AIR BAG. IT IS AT LEAST FIVE MONTHS SINCE MY FIRST NOTIFICATION AND FORD CANNOT SAY WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THE PARTS. I AM CONCERNED THAT NOTHING WILL BE DONE. WHO IS MAKING SURE REPAIRS ARE DONE IN TIMELY MANNER?
WHEN DRIVING MY 2009 FORD EDGE WITH UNDER 46,000 MILES, THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS A SPONGY FEEL AND IT BECOMES QUITE DIFFICULT TO USE THE BRAKE AT TIMES. IT ALSO MAKES A HISSY OR SQUEALING NOISE. AT TIMES IS VERY, VERY HARD TO PRESS THE BRAKE DOWN TO STOP THE CAR. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO REPAIRMAN. HE SAID THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS BAD. IT HAD FAILED. MY HUSBAND TALKED WITH AN INDEPENDENT AUTO REPAIR PERSON. HE SAID I HAD A BAD BRAKE BOOSTER. MY HUSBAND CALLED THE FORD DEALER AND AFTER RUNNING THE VIN NUMBER, HE WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR DID NOT QUALIFY FOR A RECALL. THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAS FAILED. THE CAR HAS UNDER 46,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE IT SCHEDULED TO BE REPAIRED AT MY OWN EXPENSE AS THIS IS A DANGEROUS DRIVING SITUATION. WHY DID FORD HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THE 2007-2008 AND 2010-2015 EDGE MODELS BUT OMITTED THE 2009 MODELS?
TAKATA RECALL: NOTHING BEING DONE BY FORD REGARDING REPLACEMENT OF PARTS. RECEIVED THE NOTICE IN THE MAIL FROM TK HOLDINGS REGARDING THE ISSUE WITH THE DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATOR... CALLED A FORD DEALERSHIP TO RECEIVE FREE AIRBAG REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO PARTS FROM FORD. THIS A RECALL DATED FROM JANUARY 2017 AND IT IS NOW OCTOBER 31, 2017
I OWN A FORD EDGE 2009 CAR HAD BEEN OVER HEATING FOR LITTLE WHILE. AIR CONDITION WOULD WORK WHEN DRIVING WHEN I COME TO A STOP IT WOULD OVER HEAT. I WOULD NEED TO TURN ON THE HEAT TO ALLOW IT TO COOL BACK DOWN. HAD TO REPLACE THE DOUBLE FAN ASSEMBLY COST RIGHT AT $600.00

TAKATA RECALL - VEHICLE RECALL STATUS DATING BACK TO JUNE 1, 2016 IS STILL INCOMPLETE DUE TO REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE. I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL TODAY (10-24-2017) THAT TK HOLDINGS, INC. (TAKATA) AND CERTAIN OF ITS AFFILIATES HAVE FILED CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY CASES. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS IN MY VEHICLE HAVE NOT BE REPAIRED/REPLACED.
RECEIVED FORD SAFETY RECALL NOTICE JULY 2016. AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE CANNOT BE CHANGED BECAUSE LOCAL DEALERS SAY REPLACEMENT AIRBAG NOT AVAILABLE. HAVE CONTACTED DEALER 4 TIMES SINCE JULY 2016 AND STILL THEY DO NOT HAVE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG. VERY CONCERNED WITH LETTING ANYONE SIT IN PASSENGER SEAT DUE TO POSSIBLE HARM TO PERSONS IN EVENT OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.

I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD ABOUT NOV/DEC 2017 ADVISING ME OF THE RECALL ISSUES FOR MY VEHICLE. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SPEAK TO A FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REP, AND MY DEALER NOR THE FINANCE COMPANY KNOW WHAT TO DO. I RECEIVED A MORE RECENT LETTER FROM FORD WITH OPTIONS AND STATING THAT THE PARTS REQUIRED ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. I NEED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE BECAUSE I AM AFRAID OF ALL THE RECALL ISSUES SURROUNDING MY VEHICLE. I KEEP THE MAINTENANCE UP ON MY VEHICLE BUT I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING SAFETY ISSUES WHILE DRIVING, LIKE MY VEHICLE THREATENS TO STOP FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE I'M DRIVING IT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE BRAKE BOOSTER MALFUNCTIONED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE PARKING BRAKE HAD TO BE ENGAGED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED. PLANET FORD IN SPRING, TEXAS WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13N02000 (SERVICE BRAKES). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 93,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL: AIR BAGS NEED TO BE REPLACED PER RECALL.
WHILE PRESSING BRAKE PEDAL IS MAKING HISSING NOISE AND CAR BECOMES HARD TO STOP.
DIFFERENTIAL PROBLEMS CAUSED BY USING THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED SPARE TIRE. SPARE TIRE IS MUCH SMALLER THEN TIRES REQUIRED BY THE MANUFACTURER, WHEN SPARE TIRE WAS USED IT CAUSED STRESS TO THE DIFFERENTIAL CAUSING IT TO BREAK. THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM IN THE INTERNET AND SHOULD BE FIXED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER IS ASSURING A COSTLY BREAK DOWN OF THEIR VEHICLES BY IGNORING THIS PROBLEM. I ASK ANYONE RESPONSIBLE TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION AND FORCE THE MANUFACTURER TO PAY FOR DAMAGES CAUSE BY THEIR NEGLECT.
DRIVING HOME AFTER I PICKED UP THE KIDS FROM SCHOOL. I HAD A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE CABIN OF MY CAR. WE WERE CR 108 NOT EVEN A MILE FROM MY DIRT ROAD (WILLIE HODGES RD) I ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOWS, I HAVE 3 KIDS, AND MADE IT HOME. I SAW THERE WAS A RECALL ON SOME 2009-2010 EDGES FOR FAULTY GAS TANKS. I LOOKED UP THE VIN AND THE ONLY RECALL I HAVE ON MY CAR IS FOR AIR BAGS, WHICH THEY HAVE YET TO RESOLVE. I HAVE A FEELING MY EDGE WAS INSTALLED A FAULTY FUEL TANK.

WHILE APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT ON A CITY STREET, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND VEHICLE MADE A HIGH PITCHED WHISTLING NOISE. ALMOST HIT THE VEHICLE STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME.

WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD EXTEND TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE STOPPING DISTANCE WAS INCREASED. THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD A HISSING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT BRAKE AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,272.
BREAK BOOSTERS ARE NOT WORKING, CAN NOT STOP. CALLED FORD SAID MY CAR ISN'T COVERED JUST THE FORD F150. I HAVE TO SLAM DOWN ON MY BREAKS TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN THEN IT EVENTUALLY COMES TO A STOP. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,075.

I RECEIVED A NOTICE ABOUT THE DEFECTED AIRBAGS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED A WHILE BACK, BUT THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS HAVE NEVER CAME IN. I HAVE BEEN WAITING PATIENTLY FOR THE ITEM BUT THE DEALERSHIP HAS NEVER RECEIVED THE ITEM. EVERY DAY ON THE ROAD IS A RISK TO MY PASSENGER'S LIFE AND I NO LONGER WANT TO PATIENTLY WAIT FOR SOMETHING THAT MAY NEVER ARRIVE. I AM ON THE ROAD EVERYDAY FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME WITH MY WIFE ALL OVER HARRIS COUNTY IN HOUSTON, AND I CANNOT RISK SOMETHING HAPPENING TO MY WIFE AS A RESULT OF DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. I WOULD APPRECIATE A TIMELY SOLUTION.
WHILE DRIVING IN DOWNTOWN DETROIT I WAS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT AS I APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WAS ROCK HARD. ALSO, WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKE THERE IS HISSING SOUND. IT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE PROBLEM IS THE BRAKE BOOSTER. WHICH THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT COVER. THE ESTIMATE GIVEN BY THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIR IS $550.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED, BUT THE CONTACT RECEIVED A LOANER VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA AND FILE A COMPLAINT DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKE PEDAL STARTED WITH A SPONGY FEEL BUT NOW HAS BECOME VERY HARD AT TIMES TO PRESS. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THE BRAKE BOOSTER IS FAILING. HE ADVISED ME TO CHECK WITH FORD TO SEE IF THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS COVERED SINCE OTHER VEHICLES WITH SIMILAR PROBLEM HAD A RECALL OR SERVICE WARRANTY. FORD MOTOR COMPANY WAS NOT WILL TO COVER IT DUE TO IT DID NOT FALL UNDER THERE RECALL FOR THE 2009 MODEL YEAR BUT COVERS MODEL YEAR 2007 - 2008 THEN 2010 - 2013. MY VEHICLE WAS PLACE IN THE SHOP TO HAVE THE DEFECTIVE PART REPLACE AT MY EXPENSE.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD ON MARCH 17, 2017 DESCRIBING AN "ISSUE" REGARDING POTENTIAL METAL FRAGMENTS IN THE AIRBAGS. I TRIED TO GET THE AIRBAGS REPLACED IN CLEVELAND, AT LIBERTY FORD. WE MOVED TO HILTON HEAD IN THE SPRING OF 2017 AND I HAVE SINCE TRIED TO GET THE AIRBAGS REPLACED, ON NOVEMBER 6, 2017 AT O.C. WELCH FORD IN HARDEEVILLE, SC. NEITHER DEALERSHIPS WILL REPLACE THE AIRBAGS BECAUSE THEY STATE THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS ARE "NOT AVAILABLE" AND THAT FORD WILL SEND ME A LETTER ADVISING ME WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. PART OF THE PROBLEM MAY BE THAT I DID NOT BUY MY 2009 FORD EDGE AT A DEALERSHIP. I BOUGHT IT WHILE I WAS STATIONED IN LANDSTUHL, GERMANY WITH THE NAVY. I BOUGHT IT THROUGH OVERSEAS MILITARY SALES AND PICKED THE CAR UP AT A DEALERSHIP IN PARMA OH AFTER IT WAS SHIPPED THERE. THIS SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY BEARING ON FORD REPLACING MY AIRBAGS, BUT PERHAPS IT DOES.
BRAKE AND TURN SIGNAL LIGHT SOCKET IS BURNT AND CHARRED. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BULBS AT LEAST EVERY OTHER MONTH. I WAS TOLD BY FORD THAT I MUST HAVE USED THE WRONG WATTAGE BULB. INTERNET SEARCHES SUGGEST OTHERWISE. THERE ARE COUNTLESS OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS AND DANGEROUS ISSUE. FORD WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE OR OFFER TO PAY THE $100 TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

TAKATA RECALL IT HAS BEEN 10 MONTHS SINCE WE WERE FIRST NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL AND WE HAVE YET TO RECEIVE NOTICE THAT WE CAN GET OUR CAR FIXED. THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN HANDLED PROPERLY NOR HANDLED IN A TIMELY MANNER.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL LETTER ON MARCH 2017 AND SINCE THEN I HAVE CALLED FORD DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS TOLD THAT PARTS NOT AVAILABLE YET AND THEY WOULD NOTIFY US BY MAIL ONCE THEY HAVE THE PARTS. THIS IS WAY OVERDUE AND I AM NOT FEELING SAFE DRIVING A CAR WHICH HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAGS. PLEASE REDIRECT MY COMPLAINT TOWARD THEM SO THEY GET THE PARTS ASAP AND FIX THE PROBLEM.

ONE NEWS ARTICLE STATED A LOANER CAR WILL BE PROVIDED, BUT DEALER DOES NOT PROVIDE A LOANER CAR. SAFERCAR VIDEO STATES AIRBAG INFLATOR CAN BE AFFECTED BY EXTREME HEAT. I LIVE IN AN AREA THAT INCLUDES EXTREME HOT WEATHER. VIDEO STATES THE OLDER CAR MODELS ARE MORE LIKELY AFFECTED. OUR MODEL IS 9 YEARS OLD. I TRANSPORT GRANDCHILDREN AND ELDERLY PARENTS IN MY CAR. THE RECALL SHOWS IT IS FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. DOES THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR NOT INCLUDE AN AIRBAG ALSO? AFTER WAITING PATIENTLY FOR MANY MONTHS, WE HAVE TRIED DILIGENTLY TO GET OUR CAR RECALL REPAIRED, WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS. OUR DEALER REFERRED US TO THE FORD OFFICE IN FLORIDA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE REP WAS NOT OF ASSISTANCE OR SYMPATHETIC. THE FLORIDA CALL IS CONFIRMED BY CALL CASE NO. CAS13975245. WE DO NOT HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF LEAVING OUR VEHICLE PARKED, UNDRIVEN. WE EVEN ASKED THE DEALER AND THE FLORIDA OFFICE IF THEY WILL DISCONNECT THE ENTIRE AIRBAG UNTIL PARTS ARE RECEIVED, RESPONSE = UNLAWFUL. WHY ARE MANY VEHICLE AIRBAGS BEING REPAIRED, HOWEVER, FORD EDGE VEHICLES ARE NOT BEING REPAIRED?
