WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED YOU CAN HEAR A HISSING NOISE. AT A FULL STOP THE CAR WILL SLOWING MOVE FORWARD, ALSO WHEN BRAKING IT IS SPONGY. BRAKE FEEDBACK CYCLES FROM HARD TO SOFT.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND I STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE PEDAL WILL GO DOWN TO THE FLOOR. THE CAR HAS NEW BRAKES BUT THE BRAKES ARE SPONGY. IT IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT IS UNPREDICTABLE TO STOP. IT DOES THE SAME SAME THING WHEN THE CAR IS NOT IN MOTION.
2011 FORD EDGE 102K MILES. FRONT DRIVER DOOR LIGHT AJAR, THE DOOR INDICATING ITS AJAR KEEPS THE LIGHTS IN THE VEHICLE ILLUMINATED, THIS IN TURNED DRAINED THE BATTERY. VERY HARD TO TELL THE LIGHTS INSIDE ARE ON DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. UNFORTUNATELY THIS SITUATION LEFT MY WIFE AND KIDS STRANDED. LOOKED UP SOLUTIONS FOR THIS WHEN I RAN ACROSS THE RECALL 19N09 FOR THIS SITUATION. TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE THE ISSUE. THEY NOTED THIS WAS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE CARS. UNFORTUNATELY TODAY'S DATE (8/26/20) WAS 26 DAYS PAST THE RECALL EXPIRATION DATE OF 7/31/20. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED ME THEY COULDN'T FIX THE ISSUE UNDER THE RECALL DUE TO THE EXPIRATION AND THE REPAIR WOULD COST $471. I CALLED FORD DIRECTLY WHERE THEY POLITELY TOLD ME I MISSED THE DATE AND THEREFORE I WAS ON MY OWN. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN FORD'S DECISION TO NOT STAND BEHIND THE RECALL AND TAKE CARE OF THE KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE EDGE AFTER BEING ONLY 26 DAYS AFTER A RECALL EXPIRED. I ASKED FORD IF THEY HAD NOTIFIED ME OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE RECALL EXPIRING, THEY SAID THEY SENT ME A NOTICE IN JANUARY, I ASKED THEM TO CONFIRM THE ADDRESS THAT NOTICE WAS SENT TO AND THEY INTIMATELY ASKED ME TO VERIFY MY ADDRESS TO THEM. RED FLAG.... I GOT THE FEELING THEY DID NOT SEND OUT ANY NOTICE ON THIS RECALL AND THEY COULD NOT CONFIRM WHERE THEY SENT THE NOTICE TO. FORD ADVISED ME TO PAY UP, GET IT FIXED BUT KEEP THE RECEIPT IN CASE THE RECALL OPENS BACK UP THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR IT. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS SITUATION AND IN FORD. THE WAY THE CAR IS CURRENTLY IS NOT SAFE FOR MY WIFE AND KIDS TO DRIVE. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT I COULD JUST "DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL TO STOP THE BATTERY FROM DRAINING"! FORD PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING AND OPEN THIS RECALL BACK UP.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated while her husband was driving at 20 MPH and coming to a stop, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond. The contact's husband pumped the brake pedal several times and the vehicle stopped. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving. Additionally, the contact stated that rearview camera image was distorted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake booster master cylinder and the rearview camera needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR BOARD BEFORE ANY BRAKING HAPPENS. THE BRAKING IS MINIMAL WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES AND IS STILL HAPPENING IN THE LAST YEAR STARTING IN 08/14/2020. THE PEDAL RETURNS TO THE REGULAR POSITION AND OPERATES NORMALLY AFTER THIS OCCURRENCE. I HAVE HAD 4 DIFFERENT MECHANICS TRY TO DIAGNOSE THIS BRAKE FAILURE WITH NO SUCCESS. THIS A INTERMITTENT BRAKE FAILURE! BECAUSE IT IS A INTERMITTENT BRAKE FAILURE EVEN THE FORD DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE! NO REPAIRS EXPECT FOR A POWER BRAKE BLEEDING HAVE BEEN DONE. ONE OF THE MECHANICS I HAD LOOK AT THE CAR SAID HE FOUND AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS FAILURE FORD SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ONE FOR THIS FAILURE. I GOOGLED IT AND FOUND A COUPLE OF EXTENDED WARRANTIES FOR SIMILAR BRAKE FAILURES. IT IS A BIT TO TECHNICAL FOR MY TO UNDERSTAND FULLY. I HAVE GOOGLED 2011 FORD EDGE BRAKE FAILURES AND FOUND MANY OCCURRENCES OF THIS HAPPENING OTHER PEOPLE. PLEASE LET ME EMPHASIZE THAT THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT BRAKE FAILURE! IT ONLY THAT ONE TIME FOR BRAKES TO FAIL AND KILL A FAMILY! I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT PEOPLE BEING CHARGED $1000'S TO "FIX" THE PROBLEM ONLY TO HAVE IT HAPPEN AGAIN. THIS NEEDS TO CORRECTED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED! AND THAT SOMEONE COULD BE ME OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE!!
THE BACK GLASS SECTION OF MY PANORAMIC SUNROOF EXPLODED AS I WAS DRIVING. THERE WAS NO DEBRIS ON THE ROAD AND NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESS WAY, AN ORANGE WRENCH LIGHT APPEARED, AND THE CAR LOST POWER. VERY DANGEROUS. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER AND CUT THE CAR OFF.
WHEN DRIVING I WOULD HEAR CLUNKING NOISES, WHEN TURNING AND BREAKING. MY AIR BAGS SENSOR IDEALLY OFF, AND I'M EXPERIENCING ELECTRICAL ISSUES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED UPON ENTERING HIS VEHICLE, HE SMELLED AN ABNORMAL ODOR OF GASOLINE AFTER REFUELING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WENT INTO HIS GARAGE AND SAW A PUDDLE OF GASOLINE ON THE FLOOR. THE CONTACT CONTACTED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ADVISED HIM TO REFILL THE FUEL TANK TO DETERMINE WHERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM. THE MECHANIC PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND THE RESULT WAS A LEAKING SEAL BY THE ROLLOVER VALVE SENSOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
THE BREAKS ARE ROCK HARD WHEN YOU FIRST HIT THE BREAK. THE CAR SLOWLY TRYS TO STOP BUT YOU CAN FEEL BRAKES NOT FULLY ENGAGE. SO YOU HAVE TO PRESS HARDER AND THEN THE BRAKES WILL ENGAGE AND IT'S AN ABRUPT STOP. SOMETIMES DOESN'T THINK IT WILL STOP. IT IS VERY SHOCKING WHEN FIRST HITTING BREAKS BECAUSE DON'T KNOW IF IT WILL BRAKE ALL THE WAY.
THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WHEN TRYING TO STOP WHILE DRIVING ON THE HYWAY , I CHECKED THE FLUID IT WAS FULL, TOOK IT TO DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED THEY SAID IT NEEDED A HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT AND ELECTRONIC MODULE THAT IS MORE THAN $1,100 BUT I DID SOME RESEARCH AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS FORD EDGE.
MY VEHICLE'S BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. THE PRESSURE IN THE BRAKES WOULD LEAVE IMMEDIATELY SO I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND THEY REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER. TWO MONTHS LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN WHERE ALL THE PRESSURE OF THE BRAKES ARE GONE AND THE BRAKES BARELY STOP THE CAR SO I TOOK IT AGAIN TO THE MECHANIC AND THEY REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND STILL THE BRAKE PRESSURE WON'T HOLD SO THEY SAID IT MIGHT HAVE TO DO WITH THE ABS SYSTEM. THEY WERE SURPRISED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE BRAKE SYSTEM BECAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE DEALING WITH THE FAULTY SYSTEM THAT KEEPS BREAKING THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE ABS SYSTEM IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX TOO. I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN MY CAR ANYMORE, THE BRAKES CAN GIVE OUT ANYTIME WHILE I'M DRIVING AND FORD COULD CARE LESS.
DOOR AJAR SENSOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY AND ALARM WILL SOUND IF YOU LOCK DOORS.
THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE SUDDENLY WENT FROM NORMAL TO HIGH. I NOTICED IT AND WAS ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY TURN THE CAR OFF. NO ALARMS OR ALERTS WENT OFF ON THE CAR AT ALL. WHEN WE LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD OF THE CAR WE NOTICED THAT THE ANTIFREEZE WAS LEAKING. MY HUSBAND ADDED MORE TO IT AND WE LEFT THE CAR THERE UNTIL WE COULD FIGURE OUT WHICH MECHANIC WOULD BE ABLE TO REPAIR THE WATER PUMP. THE LOCAL MECHANICS WE SPOKE TO WERE NOT COMFORTABLE DOING THIS REPAIR DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF LABOR REQUIRED FOR THIS VEHICLE. WE HAD THE FORD EDGE TOWED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. THE WATER PUMP ENDED UP LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE WHICH THE DEALERSHIP SAID WAS CATASTROPHIC. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE ROAD, INSTEAD OF IN THE PARKING LOT, IT COULD HAVE SEIZED THE ENGINE. IT HAPPENED INSTANTANEOUSLY AND WITHOUT ANY WARNINGS OR ALARMS. THE FORD TECHNICIANS SAID IT MAY HAVE BEEN LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE FOR SEVERAL DAYS WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS ISSUE AS WELL AS A COSTLY ONE. A WATER PUMP SHOULD BE A SIMPLE REPAIR OR PROBLEM, HOWEVER THE WAY THAT IT HAPPENED CAUSED ENGINE FAILURE. IT NOW REQUIRES AN ENTIRE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THE CAR NO LONGER FUNCTIONS OR OPERATES IN ANY CAPACITY. I WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT SO I WAS FORTUNATE. I HAD JUST PULLED INTO THE PARKING SPACE AND WAS THERE ABOUT ONE MINUTE - LITERALLY. THE REPAIR FEES FOR THE WATER PUMP WERE PRICED AT $3,000. THE REPAIR FEES FOR THE USED ENGINE REPLACEMENT ARE $4,000-5,000. THIS IS A POOR VEHICLE DESIGN AND A SAFETY CONCERN FOR FORD.
BREAKS ARE REALLY SPONGY ABOUT 2TO3 IN OF PLAY BEFORE BRAKE ENGAGES
THE PROBLEM STARTED WITH AN OCCASIONALLY STIFF BRAKE PEDAL. THIS WAS IN FEBRUARY 2015 WITH 59,554 MILES ON THE CAR. THE FORD DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER UNDER CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N02. THEN IN MAY 2016 WITH 74,029 MILES ON THE CAR THE PROBLEM RETURNED EVEN WORSE. THIS TIME THE PEDAL WOULD NOT ONLY BE STIFF AT START UP BUT WOULD ALSO BECOME STIFF WHILE DRIVING AND WAS ACCOMPANIED BY A HIGH PITCHED RINGING NOISE. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THE COST WAS PLACED ON ME. NOW HERE WE ARE IN JULY 2020 WITH APPROXIMATELY 110,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE THE STIFF PEDAL PROBLEM HAS BEEN COMING UP AGAIN AND HAS PROGRESSED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR WHILE DRIVING WITH GREATLY REDUCED BRAKING POWER. THE FORD DEALERSHIP AGAIN SAYS THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER IS PART OF THE PROBLEM, ALONG WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE DEALER & FORD MOTOR CO. BOTH STATE THAT THE COST OF REPLACING THEIR FAULTY PARTS IS MY RESPONSIBILITY. FORD OBVIOUSLY HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH THEIR BRAKE BOOSTERS
BRAKES ARE SO HARD, THE CAR DOES NOT BRAKE EASILY. IT MAKES A SOUND LIKE A WIND IS BLOWING. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM PROBABLY IS THE BRAKE BOOSTER. BUT AFTER THEY DO AN INSPECTION THEY FIND OUT THE PROBLEM IS THE MASTER CYLINDER AND HCU. SO THEY SAID THE COST IS AROUND $1,300 THIS IS TO EXPENSIVE THIS MUST BE A RECALL.. I SAW MANY CASES WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM.. ALSO FORD CHARGE $149 FOR INSPECTION..
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the tailgate ajar warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and checked and saw that the tailgate was closed. The contact opened and then closed the tailgate, re-entered the vehicle however, the warning light reappeared. The contact stated that occasionally, the tailgate would unlock inadvertently. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage is 180,000.
REAR HATCH WILL OPEN UP RANDOMLY, NO RHYME OR REASON. USUALLY ONLY HAPPENS WHEN PARKED. I BELIEVE IT MAY BE A KEY FOB ISSUE, BUT CAN'T BE CERTAIN. *TR
THE BRAKES HAVE BECOME 'SPONGY' AS THE SERVICE MECHANIC CALLS IT. WHEN I PUSH THE BRAKES, THEY GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE STOPPING THE VEHICLE. IT TAKES MUCH LONGER TO STOP EVEN IF YOU ARE GOING SLOW.
WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS ON HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS, GOING TO APPLY BRAKES WHEN STOPPING THE BRAKES WILL NOT FULLY STOP THE VEHICLE. IT WILL SLOW IT DOWN BUT IT WON'T COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WITHOUT HAVING TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO BE ABLE TO FULLY STOP. THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD BE PUSHED ALL THE WAY INTO THE FLOOR. AND IT MAKES THIS AWFUL SQEAULING NOISE WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal was firm. The contact stated that the braking distance was extended and there was an abnormal sound coming from the brakes while depressed. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed, and the brake failure was confirmed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
THE SYNC SYSTEM QUIT WORKING. THERE IS A BLACK SCREEN AND I AM UNABLE TO USE THE BACKUP CAMERA OR SEE THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLS FOR THE VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN THIS WAY FOR ABOUT A MONTH. ON MY FORD APP IT SHOWS 2 THINGS THAT NEED TO BE FIXED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID I HAVE TO PAY $173 FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT AND THEY SHOW NO RECALLS.
DOOR LATCH, WHEN VEHICLE HIT 122,000 GOT A SAFETY BULLETIN EXTENDING WARRANTY ON VEHICLE DOOR LATCH TO 120,000 MILE MY VEHICLE WAS AT 122,000 AT THE TIME. NOW THERE IS A RECALL ON DOOR MATCHES IN QUESTION BUT FORD EDGES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL? ALMOST EVERY TIME I CLOSE MY DOOR MY DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONTINUES TO STAY ON UNLESS I SLAM MY DOOR WITH A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF FORCE 4 OR 5 TIMES. *TR
ABS HYDRAULIC MCU UNIT VALVES STICK OPEN AFTER TURNING AND GOING OVER A BUMP WITH THE BRAKES ON. OUT OF NOWHERE THE BAKE PEDDLE GOES ALMOST TO THE FLOOR AND DOES NOT RETURN TO NORMAL OPERATION. YOU ARE LEFT WITH A SPONGEY PEDDLE THAT WHEN PRESSED CONTINUES TO DEPRESS AS IF LEAKING UNTIL IT BOTTOMS OUT. UNLESS YOU PUMP IT UP. I HAVE HAD THE MCU CYCLED AT A GARAGE AND THEY HAVE GOTTEN THE VALVE TO BREAK FREE ONLY TO HAVE IT HAPPEN AGAIN. I SEE THEY HAVE RECALLED THE FUSION FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE.
THE CAR WAS IN MOTION.THE CAR MAKE A VOOM SOUND EVERY TIME IT SHIFT . I HAVE NEVER BEFORE HEARD BEFORE TODAY. *TR
ALL DOOR SENSORS NEEDED REPLACING. THE FRONT INTERFACE DISPLAY MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE HAZARD LIGHTS CAME ON FOR NO REASONS AND COULDN'T BE TURNED OFF. REAR VIEW CAMERA DOESN'T WORK. FRONT HOOD NEEDS PAINTING FROM POOR CLEAR COAT. IT TOOK ONE MONTH FOR FORD TO GET THE FIDM. NUMEROUS RECALLS BUT FORD SAID THEY DON'T APPLY TO THE FORD EDGE. AS A FAMILY WE HAVE A FORD EDGE, F-150 LARIAT, ESCAPE,EXPLORER AND A F-250. THIS IS CURRENT AND NOT INCLUDING ALL THE OTHER VEHICLES WE HAD FROM FORD.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
THE DOOR LATCH SENSOR DOSE NOT WORK ALL THE TIME. WITCH MEANS THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHICH MAKES ME FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE. THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS WITH THE EDGES YEARS 2011 TO 2013. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS IF A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVE THIS PROBLEM TO KEEP US SAFE. TONIGHT, I WAS CLOSING MY SUNROOF AN IT TOOK 5 MINUTES AND 3 PEOPLE TO CLOSE IT. ONE PERSON HAD TO PUSH THE BUTTON TO CLOSE IT AND THE OTHER TWO HAD TO PUSH THE GLASS FROM THE OUTSIDE. EVERY TIME WE DID THAT IT KEPT RESISTING AND POPPING BACK TO THE OPEN POSITION. I HAVE TOOK IT TO FORD ABOUT A MONTH AGO WHEN I GOT MY OIL CHANGED THEY TOLD ME TO TRIED TO CLEAN THE TRACKS OF IT AND LUB ON MY OWN OR HAVE FORD DO IT FOR ALMOST $1,000.00. I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY. THEY. TOLD ME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ALL THE SUNROOF OF THIS YEAR. I FEEL IF MOST PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM THEY SHOULD OFFER SOME KIND OF HELP OR A RECALL ON IT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY MY HAZARD LIGHTS CAME ON AUTOMATICALLY AND I COULD NOT TURN THEM OFF. THIS ALSO MADE MY BLINKERS INCAPABLE OF BEING USED, A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE AND LAW OFFENSE. MY HAZARD LIGHTS CONTINUED TO TURN ON AND OFF AUTOMATICALLY LEAVING ME WITH A DRAINED BATTERY. FORD REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER UNDER A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO FOR PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR. THE PEDAL RETURNED TO NORMAL POSITION BUT THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CONTINUED TO STAY ON. NOW 6 MONTHS LATER, THE BRAKE PEDAL IS GOING TO THE FLOOR AGAIN AND BEING TOLD IT IS THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL. I KNOW YOU GUYS HAD THE FORD FUSION RECALLED DECEMBER OF 2019 FOR THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE ADD THE 2011 FORD EDGE TO THE LIST OF RECALLS BECAUSE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE!
Rear left door ajar button constantly is lit up, even when the door is shut. This is causing the vehicle to keep interior lights on and even trigger the alarm to sound at times, causing the battery to die often.
FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LATCH/SENSOR MALFUNCTION. DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THE DOORS DON'T LOCK AND THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON BECAUSE THE CAR THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE I HAVE A SMALL SON AND WE CAN'T LOCK THE DOORS WHILE HE'S IN THE VEHICLE.
65 MPH ON HIGHWAY, COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER... ELECTRONICS SEEMED TO SPUTTER OFF, THEN BACK ON FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN OFF AGAIN, BUT THE VEHICLE SHUT COMPLETELY OFF MID HIGHWAY DRIVING WITH NO ABILITY TO STEER, ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE. ENDED UP AT A COMPLETE STOP ON THE HIGHWAY WITH NOTHING WORKING TO POWER THE VEHICLE BACK ON. HEATER SEEMED TO CONTINUE TO WORK, BUT NOTHING AS FAR AS THE ENGINE OR DASH, NO ELECTRONICS. CONTINUED TO TRY TO START THE VEHICLE OVER AND OVER AS ONCOMING VEHICLES SWERVED AROUND ME AT 60 TO 70 MPH. DIALED 911 AND HAD TO WAIT 15 MINUTES BEFORE A POLICE CAR PARKED BEHIND THE FORD EDGE WITH FLASHERS ON. LITERALLY NO WARNING, NO WARNING LIGHTS, NO NOTHING. VEHICLE SIMPLY LOST POWER... COMPLETELY TURNED OFF. THIS WAS HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE MOST FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCES FOR MY DAUGHTER WHO WAS DRIVING AT THE TIME. SHE'LL LIKELY NOT GET BACK INTO THAT VEHICLE.
FORD HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER IS DEFECTIVE AND WILL REPLACE IT UP TO 150,000 MILES. THEY WILL NOT REPLACE IT AT 151,000 MILES BUT IT IS JUST AS DANGEROUS AND DEFECTIVE. IT TRIPLES STOPPING DISTANCE AND DOES NOT HOLD ON A HILL
THE CAR ACCELERATED WHILE I WAS BRAKING WHILE PARKING ON THE STREET, THIS PROBLEM IS REOCCURRING. I ALSO CONSTANTLY GET A WARNING THAT MY CAR IS OVERHEATING WHILE THE BAR LINE IS ON COLD. I TRIED PUTTING ANTI FREEZE AND IT DOESN'T HELP. THE CAR ALSO TURNED OFF AT A GREEN LIGHT WHEN I TURNED ON MY AIR CONDITIONER. LASTLY I GOT A WARNING THAT MY OIL PRESSURE IS LOW ALTHOUGH I JUST GOT AN OIL AND FILTER CHANGE THE DAY BEFORE. PLEASE DO A RECALL FOR THESE THINGS. I HAVE A CHILD AND IT IS VERY UNWISE TO PUT HIM IN ANY DANGER BY BEING IN THIS CAR.
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES TO STOP, THE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND DO NOT WORK. THE CAR CONTINUES TO GO AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. YOU HAVE TO PUMP THE BRAKES REPEATEDLY BEFORE THE BRAKES RE-ENGAGE AND YOU CAN COME TO A STOP. WE TOOK A CAR TRIP OF ABOUT 6 HOURS WORTH OF DRIVING AND IT OCCURRED ABOUT 4 TIMES, 2 ON THE WAY THERE AND 2 ON THE WAY BACK. MY WIFE ALSO STATED THIS HAS OCCURRED PREVIOUSLY, BUT THERE IS NOT TIME TABLE BETWEEN OCCURRENCES.

ONGOING PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES DATING BACK TO 2014 AT 77K MILES. TOOK VEHICLE TO A.C. COLLINS FORD AND COMPLAINED ABOUT BRAKE PEDAL BECOMING STIFF AND FEELING LIKE IT WAS NOT GOING TO STOP, I.E. AT STOP SIGN IN SLOW TRAFFIC. BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED PER RECALL NOTICE 13N02. AFTER SOME TIME, EARLY 2016, BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE SPONGY BRAKE PEDAL WITH EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. MARLER FORD RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF BRAKE BOOSTER, NO ACTIVE RECALL AT THAT TIME. REPAIR WAS NOT DONE AND CAR BLEW A HEAD GASKET SHORTLY THEREAFTER. FAST FORWARD TO SEPTEMBER 2019 AND MOTOR REPLACEMENT, HAD MECHANIC LOOK AT BRAKES BECAUSE OF PAST ISSUES. HE REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER, ABS CONTROL MODULE, & BRAKE PADS. NOW, 2/2020, VEHICLE IS DRINKING BRAKE FLUID AND MECHANIC ADVISES REPLACEMENT OF BRAKE BOOSTER....AGAIN. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE QUALITY OF PARTS IN THIS FORD VEHICLE. FIRST AND LAST FORD FOR ME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STUART POWELL FORD LINCOLN MAZDA LOCATED AT (225 S DANVILLE BYPASS, DANVILLE, KY 40422), WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ABS MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
MY BRAKING SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING WHILE DRIVING. IT FIRST APPEARED WHEN THE BRAKE BOOSTER WENT BAD ON OR AROUND 2/6/2020 WHICH I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF BY FORD AS BEING A KNOWN PROBLEM SO I HAD IT REPLACED. IMMEDIATELY AFTER REPLACING THAT PART ON 2/9/2020 THE BRAKES BEGAN TO ENGAGE AND STAY ENGAGE WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS HAPPENED TWICE AND THE BRAKES WOULD DISENGAGE ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF FOR HOURS. NOW ON MY WAY TO THE DEALER 2/19/2020 MY BRAKES WERE UNRESPONSIVE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS SOFT AND WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BARELY STOPPING THE VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER WAS DUE TO MY HYDRAULIC CONTROL MODULE GOING BAD. SEEM COINCIDENTAL THAT THIS COINCIDED WITH THE BOOSTER GOING BAD AND NO RECALL OR EXTENDED WARRANTY BEING OFFERED FOR THE KNOWN ISSUE AS I HAVE READ 100S OF COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME NATURE ONLINE. THIS IS A TRAGEDY WAITING TO HAPPEN AND FORD DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SUSQUEHANNA FORD LOCATED AT (415 W 4TH ST, QUARRYVILLE, PA 17566) TO HAVE THE ABS SOFTWARE REPROGRAMMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
MY OIL LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND I JUST GOT AN OIL CHANGE ON 2-10-2020. IT DOESN'T COME ON UNTIL CERTAIN MOMENTS WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKES OR WHEN I'M STATIONARY (FOR EXAMPLE AT A STOP LIGHT).

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

THE DRIVER'S SEAT HAS STARTED COMING FORWARD DURING MODERATE TO SUBSTANTIAL BRAKING, AND BACKWARDS DURING SIMILAR ACCELERATION.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK ON A COUNTRY ROAD. THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY BEGAN TO LOSE POWER AND WOULDN'T GAIN MUCH SPEED. I WAS TRYING TO GET IT PARKED IN AT LEAST A DRIVEWAY OR PLACE TO SIT SAFELY IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENED. THERE WERE CARS BEHIND ME , THE CAR STARTED SMOKING REALLY BAD FROM THE HOOD. BEFORE I HAD TIME TO GET SOMEWHERE SAFELY, THE CAR SHUT OFF AND STARTED GOING IN REVERSE. I HAD TO SLAM ON MY EMERGENCY BREAK AND WAS STUCK THERE UNTIL I HAD HELP FROM A TOW TRUCK TO TOW IT. THE CAR WOULDN'T TURN ON OR MOVE SO I WAS STUCK ON THIS HILL AND HAD PEOPLE FROM THEIR HOUSE GUIDE TRAFFIC UNTIL HELL CAME. THE CAR DIDN'T GIVE ME ANY WARNINGS OR ISSUES PRIOR TO THIS AT ALL. I HAVEN'T HAD THE VEHICLE FOR MORE THAN 2 YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN CARE OF EVERYTHING AND HAVE KEPT UP ON THE MAINTENANCE OF IT. THE ENGINE IS BLOWN AND WAS TOLD THE ANTIFREEZE LEAKED INTO THE OIL DUE TO THE ENGINE BLOWING. I HAVE STILL BEEN MAKING MY MONTHLY PAYMENT ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN CARLESS FOR MONTHS NOW AND WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE FORD TAKING THE ACTION INTO DOING WHAT'S RIGHT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS THAT KEEP THEM GOING IN BUSINESS. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS VEHICLE AND AM SEEING A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE SAME EXACT ISSUE.
