TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING REPEATEDLY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,984....UPDATED 07/07/16 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ON 05/24/16.*JB
WHEN I GET IN MY FORD EDGE AND CLOSE MY DOOR, IT SAYS DRIVER DOOR AJAR, HAVE TO SLAM THE DOOR 4 OR 5 TIMES, AND INTERIOR LIGHT STAY ON AND WONT LOCK EITHER ,FAULTY LATCH. ITS A SAFETY ISSUE, WAS STATIONARY, THEN WHEN I WAS DRIVING IT CAME ON DRIVER DOOR AGAR
THE DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON UNTIL THE DOOR IS SLAMMED SHUT REPEATEDLY.
INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY AND YOU HAVE TO SLAM THE DRIVERS DOOR VERY HARD SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE LIGHTS AND THE WARNING LIGHT TO GO OFF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO RESPOND WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. ALSO, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED AND THE VEHICLE ALARM SOUNDS OFF AT VARIOUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,500.
I PURCHASED MY LOW MILEAGE EDGE FROM LOCAL FORD DEALER. EXPERIENCING PERIODIC ISSUE WITH CAR TRANSMISSION LAG OR JERKING WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOP, AS AT A STOP SIGN OR PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOTS. TOOK TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE ISSUE, NO CODES. MORE RECENTLY THE BACKUP CAMERA HAS INTERMITTENTLY FAILED. NO BACKUP GUIDELINES ARE PRESENT, SOMETIMES BACKUP CAMERA IS VISIBLE, THEN GOES BLACK, OTHER TIMES DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. NOW MY BRAKES ARE GIVING ME ISSUES. THE PEDAL WILL EITHER BE VERY HARD TO PRESS, AS IN LOSING POWER BRAKING WHEN A VEHICLE DIES. THEN THE PEDAL MAY GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. DID EXPERIENCE SOMETHING SIMILAR WHILE IN FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU, FOOT ON BRAKE, THEN BRAKE LOSING PRESSURE AND PEDAL DEPRESSING TO FLOOR. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THEN THE "SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK: LIGHT CAME ON BRIEFLY. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE AND ONCE I MAKE A LIST OF ALL OF THE SERVICE BULLETINS IT'S GOING TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. LAST TIME I WENT THE IDIOT AT THE SERVICE COUNTER PUT THAT I SAID THE VEHICLE "STALLED". NEVER DID I SAY THAT HAPPENED. I SAID THERE WAS A LAG IN ACCELERATION AND THE FEELING LIKE A TRANSMISSION JERKING INTO GEAR. PIECE OF JUNK FORD, DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING BUYING IT. ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE, AMAZING THERE AREN'T MORE ACCIDENTS. SHAME ON YOU FORD! YOU USED TO MAKE QUALITY PRODUCTS.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR FAILING. SHOWS DOOR IS AJAR WHEN IT IS NOT. LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF WHICH DRAINS THE BATTERY AND IT AFFECTS THE LOCKING SYSTEM WHEN IN DRIVE WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE. VEHICLE IS A FEW YEARS OLD WITH LESS THAN 45K MILES. DO A SEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND IT IS EASY TO SEE IT IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED BY FORD. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A BYPRODUCT OF FORD OUTSOURCING TO MEXICO WITHOUT PROPER QUALITY CONTROL. VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT FORD HASN'T HANDLED THIS VERY COMMON ISSUE THAT SEEMS TO OCCUR AROUND 40K MILES ACCORDING TO OTHER OWNER REPORTS. BECAUSE IT IS EXPENSIVE FOR THE CONSUMER TO FIX AT THE DEALERSHIP IT WOULD APPEAR THAT FORD WOULD RATHER PROFIT OFF OF THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT THAN TAKE THE HIT TO MAKE IT RIGHT. BAD BUSINESS - WILL BE THINKING ABOUT THIS WHEN I GO TO PURCHASE MY NEXT VEHICLE.
DOOR AJAR AND LATCH ISSUE -DOOR AJAR SIGNAL STAYS ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED -INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON -INABILITY TO LOCK DOORS WHILE IN VEHICLE -FAULTY LATCH ON DRIVERS SIDE DOOR -THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND CREATES A NIGHT DRIVING HAZARD -FALSE DOOR AJAR SIGNAL PREVENTS DRIVER FROM RECOGNIZING A REAL DOOR AJAR SITUATION -THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE
DOOR AJAR INDICATOR ON DASH STAYS ON EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED, DOME LIGHTS STAY ON, CAR ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY. INDICATOR WILL COME ON WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED AND IN MOTION. HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS NOW.

DOOR AJAR INDICATOR SENSOR FAILS. DESPITE THE DRIVERS DOOR BEING FULLY CLOSED THE INDICATOR POPS UP ON SCREEN. DOME LIGHTS STAYS ON, AND DOORS REMAIN UNLOCKED. DID FIND OUT IT'S NOT HOW HARD YOU CLOSE THE DOOR. IT SEEMS TO BE THE NUMBER OF TIME WHICH IS RANDOM.

THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS UNABLE TO RESTART. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE WHETHER THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V393000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT WAS TO CHECK WITH THE MANUFACTURER FOR MORE DISCLOSURE CONCERNING THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DOOR AJAR ALARM ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED DOME LIGHT STAYS ON DOOR WONT LOCK
DRIVERS DOOR SAYING DOOR AJAR AND NOT CLOSING. LIGHTS IN CAR AND SIGNAL FOR DOOR AJAR NOT GOING OFF WHEN CLOSED. PROBLEM WITH DOOR LATCH. HAD TO HAVE FORD DEALER FIX LATCH. IT SEEMS LIKE EVERY FORD VECHILE HAS BEEN RECALLED EXPECT THE 2012 FORD EDGE. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BECAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE ALL THE DOORS ARE NOT COMPLETELY CLOSED AS THE DOOR LOCKS ARE NOT GOING COMPLETELY DOWN AND APPEAR LIKE THEY CAN OPEN AT ANY TIME.
DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE BRAKES TOOK A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF FORCE TO STOP. THE CAR WAS SENT TO A FORD LICENSED DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAS FAILED AS WELL AS AIR IN THE BRAKE LINES.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR REMAINS ON RESULTING IN AN INABILITY TO LOCK DOORS, INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON, WARNING CHIMES/NOTIFICATIONS CONTINUE WHILE DRIVING. DOOR LATCH SENSOR NOT WORKING.

THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
CAR ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY WHILE STATIONARY. IT'S HAPPENED DURING THE DAY AND AT NIGHT. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES ALREADY SINCE APRIL 1, 2016.
THE DOOR AJAR INDICATES THE DOOR IS OPEN AND IT IS NOT, CAUSING THE CAR TO BEEP AND INTEAIOR LIGHTS TO NOT TURN OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT IT TOOK A GREATER AMOUNT OF TIME TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF A VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN BY THE MANUFACTURER ADDRESSING THE FAILURE, IN WHICH THE VIN WAS INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,699.
THERE IS AN INSTRUMENT PANEL ALARM THAT SAYS "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" THAT REMAINS DESPITE REPEATED OPENING AND CLOSING OF THE DRIVER'S DOOR. WE PAID ALMOST $600 TO HAVE THE SENSOR REPLACED ABOUT A YEAR AGO, AND NOW IT IS DOING THE SAME THING. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE US AGAIN TO FIX IT. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. NOT ONLY DOES THIS ALARM CAUSE CONSTANT BLINKING AND WARNING TONES WHEN DRIVING, BUT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON AT NIGHT FOR ABOUT 1 MINUTE AFTER DRIVING, AND I'VE HAD THE CAR BATTERY DISCHARGE TWICE WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE AND TRYING TO LOCK UP FOR THE NIGHT. IF YOU SLAM THE DOOR REPEATEDLY, IT SOMETIMES WILL GO OFF, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY TIMES WHEN I'VE OPENED AND SLAMMED THE DRIVERS DOOR OVER 10 TIMES, AND I JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE ALARM, NOISE, AND DISTRACTION. IT HAS BEEN AN ISSUE - THIS SECOND TIME - FOR ABOUT A MONTH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. WHILE PLACING THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND EXITING THE VEHICLE, IT ROLLED DOWNHILL ACROSS THE STREET AND STRUCK A TREE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT REGISTER THAT IT WAS IN PARK. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE RESTARTED NUMEROUS TIMES IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO REGISTER THAT IT WAS IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS UNOCCUPIED AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
DASHBOARD COMPUTER SAYS REAR DOOR IS AJAR WHEN IT'S NOT, WILL NOT THE DOORS LOCK AND DOME LATE STAYS ON
IN APRIL 2016, WE STARTED EXPERIENCING AN ISSUE WITH THE DRIVERS DOOR LATCH NOT CONNECTING AND OUR DRIVERS DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYING ON. WE WOULD MANUALLY HAVE TO REOPEN THE LATCH TO CLOSE THE DOOR BUT THIS STILL DIDN'T ALWAYS MAKE THIS DOOR AJAR LIGHT DO OUT. THERE WERE TIMES WE WOULD HAVE TO CLOSE THE DOOR UP TO 5 TIMES TO GET THE LIGHT TO GO OUT AND FEEL THAT THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. IT WAS WORSE ON A TRIP AT THE END OF APRIL TO FLORIDA IN WHICH WE WERE UNABLE TO GET THIS TO HAPPEN AND COULDN'T GET OUR INTERIOR LIGHTS TO GO OUT SINCE IT WAS TELLING US THE DOOR WAS STILL OPEN. THIS ISSUE WOULD HAPPEN WHILE PARKED OR DRIVING. THE LIGHT WOULD BE OUT WHEN LEAVING THE DRIVEWAY AND THEN COME ON WHILE ON THE ROAD! WE HAD THIS CHECKED THREE TIMES, FIRST TWO UNSUCCESSFUL AND THE THIRD WE WERE TOLD IT WAS A BROKEN DOOR LATCH AND WASN'T COVERED SO WE HAD IT REPAIRED AT THE COST OF $329.85! THEN I HEAR THERE ARE RECALLS ON OTHER FORD MODELS BUT THE EDGE WAS NOT ON THE LIST AND IT IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE THAT IS LISTED AND DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL OF MANY OTHER FORD VEHICLES!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A SENSOR FOR THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR APPROXIMATELY FOUR MONTHS EVERY DAY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AJAR WILL NOT TURN OFF EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE CAN'T LOCK DOORS, CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT, AND NOT SURE IF DOORS ARE REALLY SHUT. ENDED UP BEING A SHORTED DOOR SWITCH. READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS WITH PEOPLE HAVING SAME ISSUE. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL? MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY SINCE MARCH 29TH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER ENTERING THE VEHICLE AND CLOSING THE DOOR, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR, THE DOOR SENSOR WAS MALFUNCTIONING, IT WOULD STATED THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT WAS IN FACT NOT, WHEN TAKING YOUR FOOT OFF THE BREAK A WARNING COMES ON TO TELL YOU TO "PLACE THE CAR IN PARK", THE DEALERSHIP "FIXED IT" JUST OVER A YEAR LATER THE DOOR SENSOR BEGAN TO GO OFF EVEN WHEN THE DOOR WAS SHUT AND LOCKED PROPERLY. ON FURTHER RESEARCH ON HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM PERMANENTLY I FOUND THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM PEOPLE ARE HAVING WITH THIS MODEL OF FORD. PLEASE SEND A RECALL SO IT CAN BE ADDRESSED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INTERIOR CHIME SOUNDED AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SWITCH HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
THE DOOR AJAR ALARM WILL SOUND EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS SECURE. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON AND IT GIVES A AUDIBLE SIGNAL. INTERIOR LIGHTS COMING ON ARE HAZARDOUS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HAPPENS EXPECTANTLY. THIS ACTIVATION ALSO CAUSES THE LIGHTS TO STAY ON AFTER YOU LEAVE THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DRAIN AND NOT BEING ABLE TO START THE ENGINE. THIS HAPPEN TO MY WIFE WHILE AT WORK. FORTUNATELY, THIS TIME, IT WASN'T IN A REMOTE LOCATION, BUT IT COULD HAPPEN. FORD REFUSES TO RECALL OR REPAIR AT THEIR COST, EVEN THOUGH I HAD IT REPAIRED PREVIOUSLY (WHILE UNDER WARRANTY).
THE DRIVERS DOOR SENSOR KEEP STATING THE DOOR IS NOT CLOSED OR AJAR
DOOR AJAR SENSOR HAS FAILED CAUSING DOORS TO REMAIN UNLOCKED DURING DRIVING AND INTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON DURING DRIVING.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR SWITCH MALFUNCTION WHENEVER IGNITION IS TURNED ON.
BRAKE CONCERN - THE BRAKES ON MY 2012 FORD EDGE ARE VERY SPONGY, YOU MUST DEPRESS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR IN ORDER TO STOP. I SEE THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED ONCE UNDER A OWNER NOTIFICATION PROGRAM WHICH TECHNICALLY ISN'T A RECALL BUT IT IS SOMETHING FORD PROVIDES AS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION ACTION. I FEEL THE CONCERN IS RELATED TO THE ORIGINAL PROGRAM BUT THE BRAKING CONCERN IS STILL PRESENT AND I AM CONCERNED THAT SOMETHING BIGGER MAY BE GOING ON. I AM PLEADING FOR ASSISTANCE IN GETTING THIS RESOLVED BECAUSE IT WOULD BE COSTLY OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE FOR ME CONSIDERING IT IS A KNOWN CONCERN WITHIN FORD.
MY DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS COMING ON. THE DOME LIGHT IS STAYING ON AND THE SHIRT TO PARK IS COMING ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS. MY BRAKES WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY. I WAS TOLD THAT FOR EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE BRAKE BOSSTER BUT THIS IS NOT A RECALL.... I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED! I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE KNOW THAT MY LIFE WAS IN DANGER BEFORE THIS HAPPENED.
VEHICLE HAS APPROX. 51K MILES AND WAS SHOWING NO PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES UNTIL THIS WEEKEND. WHILE DRIVING OUT OF TOWN, I NOTICED THE BRAKE PEDAL DIDN'T FEEL NORMAL. I WAS HAVING TO PRESS A LITTLE HARDER THAN USUAL. IT GOT TO THE POINT WHERE I HAD TO MASH DOWN HARD TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. I CHECKED BRAKE FLUID, BUT RESERVOIR WAS FULL. I WAS ABLE TO GET BACK HOME SAFELY BUT I DID HAVE SOME CLOSE CALLS WHEN HAVING TO BRAKE DUE TO FACT THAT IT WAS TAKING LONGER DISTANCE TO STOP.
DOOR AJAR LIGHTS AND BELLS ALWAYS GOING OFF AND I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT MAY BE TRUE OR NOT AND IT ANNOYS MY DRIVING AND I GET DISRUPTED. HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION AT ANY TIME.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS COMING ON AFTER THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THE SENOR IS NOT READING THAT THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY CLOSED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER SHIP AND THEY SAID I NEEDED A SIDE SENSOR WHICH WILL COST 252.00 TO REPAIR. I GET THIS WARNING SOUND AS I AM DRIVING TELLING ME TO SHIFT TO PARK DOOR IS AJAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WARNING LIGHT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WAS CLOSED, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE DOOR WAS AJAR. THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT APPLIED FORCE SEVERAL TIMES TO CLOSE THE DOOR, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
DRIVER DOOR NOT INDICATING CLOSED PROPERLY. DEFECTIVE SWITCH ON LATCH. INDICATES DOOR NOT PROPERLY CLOSED AT ALL TIMES.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON WHEN ALL DOORS ARE SHUT. SYSTEM CONSTANTLY ADVISES DRIVER TO SHIFT TO PARK WHILE DRIVING AND CONTINUES CHIMING THAT DRIVER'S DOOR IS OPEN. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK, MANY SAFETY FEATURES WILL NOT ENGAGE BECAUSE COMPUTER BELIEVES DRIVER'S DOOR TO BE OPEN.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS STAYING ON AND DOORS ARE NOT LOCKING WHEN VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE. WHEN AJAR LIGHT IS ON AND YOU STOP WITH CAR IN DRIVE THE ALARM WILL REQUEST YOU SHIFT INTO PARK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AFTER EXITING THE FREEWAY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT DISPLAYED "KEY NOT DETECTED" ONCE THE VEHICLE STALLED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
DOOR LATCH IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE DOOR ALARM KEEPS SAYING DOOR AJAR WHEN THE DOOR IS FULLY CLOSED AND STATIONARY.
THE VEHICLE HAS DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON CONSTANTLY AND WILL NOT TURN OFF...IT HAS ALMOST CAUSE ME TO WRECK SEVERAL TIMES...AND CAR WILL NOT LOCK BECAUSE OF DOOR AJAR..THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS AND MAKING ALARM TO GO OFF CONSTANTLY ...WISH FORD WOULD RECALL THIS ISSUE AS EVERYONE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. ..DOOR AJAR.....
"DOOR AJAR"THE DRIVERS DOOR CONSTANTLY REGISTERS AS DOOR AJAR. THE DOOR IS CLEARLY CLOSED BUT THE SENSOR SHOW IT AS AJAR. YOU CANNOT LOCK THE DOORS WHEN IN MOTION, THE INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON AND WARNING BEEP GOES OFF EVERY TIME YOU STOP OR SLOW THE CAR.
FAULTY/FAILING DOOR LATCH SENSOR TRIGGERS "DOOR AJAR" INSTRUMENT PANEL AND SOUND WARNINGS WHILE ENGINE IS ON, CAUSING DOORS TO UNLOCK, INTERIOR LIGHTS TO COME ON, AND CONTINUED SOUND WARNINGS WHENEVER VEHICLE ACCELERATES. WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND ENGINE IS OFF, SENSOR FAULT CAUSES INTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON FOR 10-MINUTE CYCLE THAT CANNOT BE MANUALLY OVERRIDDEN (PER FORD). ISSUE WAS ADDRESSED WHILE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT FORD WILL NOT ADDRESS IT NOW UNDER WARRANTY OR "GOODWILL" REPAIR PROGRAM.
