I DRIVE VEHICLE A LITTLE AND IF I STOP THEN WHEN I START CAR IT WILL STALL WHEN I START DRIVING AND I HAVE TO CRANK IT AGAIN AND IT WILL GO A LITTLE AND DIE AGAIN. I PULLED INTO INTERSECTION AND CAR DIED LEAVING ME IN SITTING IN THE HIGHWAY . I ALMOST GOT HIT BY ANOTHER CAR .
2013 FORD ESCAPE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DOOR LATCH SAFETY RECALL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO COORDINATE A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. *JS
WHILE DRIVING ON A BACK ROAD WITH MANY CURVES.WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON ABRUPTLY CONCERNING POWER STEERING. WHEEL LOCKS WAS UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING WHILE ON THE ROAD THIS WAS REPLACED IN MARCH 2020. ONCE AGAIN IS HAS DONE THE SAME THINGS AGAIN WHILE REVERSING FROM A PARKING SPACE
I WENT THRU THE CAR WASH AND TRIED TO PUT MY CAR FROM NEUTRAL TO DRIVE AND THE GEAR JUMPED INTO PARK JAMING THE TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE. THEN I LOST ALL POWER, I COULDN'T START MY CAR AND BEGAN TO BE REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR WASH CUSTOMER. I HAD TO HABE THE CAR TOWED FOR REPAIRS & RENT A CAR UNTIL REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THERE ARE RECALLS FROM FORD ON THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE. FORD REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD TO PAY FOR REPAIRS AND "IF" A RECALL COMES AVAILABLE THEN I WOULD BE COMPENSATED. THANK GOD I WASN'T DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT THE POINT THIS BUSHING BROKE LOOSE! THIS IS A HAZARD FOR MORE THAN A FEW 2013 FORD ESCAPES AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE LIST OF VIN# FOR THE RECALL. VERY UNSATISFIED FROM THE FORD COMPANY.
AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 2 MILES ON MY WAY TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL I GOT A "STEERING ASSIST FAULT" AND IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. FORTUNATELY THERE AREN'T A LOT OF TURNS AND WE WERE LESS THAN A MILE FROM OUR DESTINATION. WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR BACK TO MY HOUSE SAFELY. AWAITING A CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP. INITIAL INVESTIGATION DOESN'T SHOW A RECALL FOR 2013, BUT THERE WAS FOR 2008 - 2011. FOUND SEVERAL SITES AND FORUMS OF PEOPLE MAKING THE SAME COMPLAINT.
CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM AND LOOSES COOLANT ALWAYS NO MECHANIC CAN FIND THE ISSUES I'M SCARED FOR ME AND CHILDREN THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE REACHED OUT TO YOU
MY SUV HAS SUDDENLY LOSS ACCELERATION WHEN PULLING OUT FROM A PARKING SPACE, STOP SIGN AND OUT OF A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT ONTO THE HIGHWAY. IT WILL SPUTTER LIKE IT'S NOT GETTING GAS AND TWO TIMES HAS COMPLETELY CUT OFF WHILE STILL IN DRIVE. I HAVE SMASHED THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR TO NO AVAIL NOTHING HAPPENED. THE SUV DIDN'T SPEED UP NOR START TO EVEN MOVE FAST. IT WOULD SLOWLY JERK ONTO THE ROAD, AND AS I SAID TWICE HAS CUT OFF ANOTHER TIME IT DID FINALLY GET GAS AND GO. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT NO CODES SHOWED UP ON THE MACHINE THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE SUV. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT, BESIDES ME BEING NERVOUS TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC WITHOUT GETTING HIT BECAUSE THE SUV WON'T ACCELERATE DOWN THE ROAD. IT HAS ALSO CUT OFF WHILE SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY IDLE. IT DOES START TO SHIMMER/SHAKE LIKE IT'S NOT IDLED HIGH ENOUGH AND THEN IT JUST CUTS OFF.
Bought my 2013 Ford Escape SEL 2 years ago. The airbag light has been on the whole time. I went and had it checked after I was hit in the passenger front side and airbags did not depoly. My husband got hurt. I was told it needs a part replaced. I know there was a recall on the airbags on this vehicle and the owner stated never had it replaced thru recall. I always have my 2 youngest grandbabies with me and I want to keep them safe. This is very important. Please help. 2nd issue is the front suspension, I can go over a rough road and it sounds awful making noise the whole time.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT A POSSIBLE COOLANT LEAK IN THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE OF A COOLANT LEAK. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V431000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE CONTACT'S WIFE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SOUTHGATE LINCOLN, LLC (16800 FORT ST, SOUTHGATE, MI 48195) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND COOLANT WAS ADDED. THE MECHANIC FOUND NO DEFECTS WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed and diagnosed however, the vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V813000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and the contact was referred to the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

TL* THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT AND STALL WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO FUTURE FORD LINCOLN OF ROSEVILLE (650 AUTOMALL DR, ROSEVILLE, CA 95661) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V551000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, UPON PERFORMING A VIN SEARCH, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 96,000.*DT*DT
IN MY DRIVEWAY, I PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND TURNED VEHICLE OFF. IT FELT ODD, SO I TRIED TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN ON. A MESSAGE SAYING THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN PARK DISPLAYED. WHEN I PUT ONE LEG ON THE GROUND TO EXIT THE VEHICLE WITH SLIGHT PRESSURE THE VEHICLE MOVED BACKWARD. AFTER RELEASING GEAR SHIFT, I WAS ABLE TO PUT VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WILL START AND DRIVE, BUT WILL NOT GO INTO PARK. AFTER TALKING TO FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT , I LOOKED FOR RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. ONE EXISTS FOR THE MAKE AND MODEL BUT THIS CAR DOESN'T QUALIFY EVEN THOUGH IT APPEARS NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED.
I HAVE HAD MY ESCAPE FOR ABOUT 1YR. AND FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS I HAVE BEEN GETTING A CODE P0234 WHICH WAS READ AT A LOCAL AUTO ZONE WHICH READS WASTEGATE SOLENOID THIS IS HAPPENING TO ME AND MANY MANY OTHER PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD THE SOLENOID ITSELF KEEPS GOING BAD AND CAUSING ISSUES SUCH AS ACCELERATION PROBLEMS, LOSING POWER AND DYING DOWN WHILE DRIVING EVEN ON AN INTERSTATE AND HIGHWAYS AND SOMETIMES IT'LL DO IT 2 OR 3 TIMES IN A ROW BEFORE FINALLY RUNNING AND GETTING ME WHERE I NEED TO GO SUCH AS WORK OR MY CHILD'S SCHOOL OR DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS OR TO THE STORE. THIS ISSUE SHOULD'VE BEEN RESOLVED BY FORD MAKING IT SO THE WASTEGATE CAN KEEP UP WITH THE TURBOCHARGE IN THE FORD ESCAPE 1.6L. OTHER PEOPLE USED THEIR POWER TRAIN WARRANTIES TO HAVE IT FIXED JUST TO HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR ANOTHER ONE. IT IS A VERY SERIOUS ONGOING ISSUE WITH NOT JUST MY CAR BUT OTHERS AND THE PART IS $200 EACH TIME IT NEEDS REPLACED AND IT IS LITERALLY NEVER THE HOSES IT'S THE SOLENOID GIVING TOO MUCH BOOST OVER 4PSI WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS THESE CARS NEED RECALLED THE WASTEGATE ISN'T COMPATIBLE TO KEEP UP WITH THE TURBOCHARGE ITSELF IN THE CAR AND IF NOT FIXED THEN PEOPLE HAVE TO REPLACE THE TURBO ITSELF OR BUY A NEW ENGINE OR REPLACE HEAD GASKETS AND IT COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS WRECK IF SOMEONE IS DRIVING GOING 70MPH ON A HIGHWAY AND THEN BOOM YOUR CAR DIED ALL BECAUSE OF A SOLENOID THAT DOESN'T WORK FOR THE 2013 FORD ESCAPE BECAUSE FORD DOESN'T WANT TO DEAL WITH THE FACT THESE CARS ARE NOT ROAD MATERIAL AND THEY ARE NOT SAFE FOR ANYONE TO DRIVE. THEY SINCERELY NEED RECALLED AND NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN DEALT WITH BEFORE BEING SENT OUT TO THE WORLD. I REALLY HOPE YOU CONSIDER INVESTIGATING AND GETTING THESE CARS RECALLED. IT'LL SAVE EVERYONE TIME, EFFORT, AND MONEY. I HAVE PROOF OF ALL THE FORUMS I COULD FIND TOO OF THE SAME ISSUES I AM HAVING. *TR
ECOBOOST ENGINE HAS INTERNAL LEAKS. COOLING SYSTEM HAS LEAKS AND FAULTY SENSORS. CAR OVERHEATS OR THINKS IT'S OVERHEATING AND SHUTS DOWN. WHILE ON A DANGEROUS HIGHWAY WITH NO WHERE TO PULL OVER CAR OVERHEATED SO I HAD TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. FINDING SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES. SOME CARS EVEN CATCHING FIRE.
WE TOOK THE CAR IN FOR THE MYRIAD OF RECALLS IN 2018 WHEN IT WAS NO LONGER SERVING AS OUR PRIMARY FAMILY VEHICLE AND WE COULD STAND TO BE WITHOUT IT FOR AN EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME. IN THE LAST TWO YEARS IT HAS SERVED AS A SECONDARY VEHICLE, TAKING SHORT TRIPS TO THE STORE OR PARK. ON 10/23 WE WERE DRIVING IN THE ESCAPE ON A LONGER TRIP (26 MILES TO DROP ME OFF AT THE AIRPORT). HE WAS MANEUVERING FROM THE AIRPORT CAMPUS DRIVING TOWARDS THE ON RAMP WHEN THE DASH CONSOLE INDICATED THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE WAS TOO HIGH AND TO SHUT IT OFF IMMEDIATELY. MY HUSBAND IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF ON THE INTERSTATE RAMP AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. IT NEVER CRANKED AGAIN FOR HIM, HE REPLACED THE COMPLETELY EMPTY COOLANT COMPARTMENT AND IT STILL DID NOT START. HE SPENT HOURS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH OUR TODDLER AND FINALLY HAD THE CAR TOWED TO AUTONATION FORD UNION CITY. THEY CALLED ON 10/28 AND INFORMED US THAT THE ISSUE WAS UNDER THE KNOWN FORD RECALL REGARDING A COOLANT LEAK AND THAT THEY WOULD ORDER THE PARTS. WE HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY COOLANT IN OUR DRIVEWAY OR GARAGE TO INDICATE A LEAK TO US. FORD JUST CALLED US BACK TODAY, 11/2 AND TOLD US IT WOULD COST $1,000 TO REPAIR THE COOLANT LEAK BECAUSE OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP (MIKE FITZPATRICK) ADDRESSED THE RECALL IN 2018. I SHUDDER TO THINK OF THE WORST CASE SCENARIO THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED WITH MY KIDS STRAPPED INTO THEIR CARSEATS IF WE HAD BEEN IN INTERSTATE TRAFFIC WHEN THE ENGINE OVERHEATED. THE RECALL REPAIR HAS OBVIOUSLY FAILED AND FORD IS LEAVING US IN THE LURCH AFTER INDICATING TO US ALREADY THAT THE ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY THE KNOWN ISSUES.
MY ENGINE STARTED OVERHEATING AND THE LOW COOLANT LIGHT CAME ON AND SMOKE EMERGED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. UPON INSPECTION THERE WAS ANTIFREEZE LEAKING ONTO THE ENGINE FROM WHAT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS COMING FROM THE RESERVOIR AREA. I TOOK MY FORD TO FIRESTONE AND THEY SAID IT NEEDED A NEW HEATER HOSE. I HAD THE HEATER HOSE REPLACED LAST WEEK AND TODAY I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN, ENGINE OVERHEATED LIGHT CAME ON AND SMOKE EMERGED. I THINK MY 2013 MODEL ESCAPE SEL MAY HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS BEFORE BUT THE ISSUE WAS NEVER ADDRESSED WITH THE PREVIOUS OWNER AND I FEAR FOR MY LIFE AND ANY PASSENGERS THAT MAY BE RIDDING WITH ME DUE TO THE RISK OF FIRE IN MY ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION IN BOTH OCCURRENCES BEFORE AND AFTER THE HEATER HOSE REPLACEMENT. BOTH INCIDENTS WERE GOING APPROPRIATELY 40 MILES PER HOUR ON A CITY STREET.

I PURCHASED A 2013 FORD ESCAPE ON 10-22-2019 AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS SINCE 02-16-2020 WITH THE SUV STALLING OUT IN TRAFFIC WHILE I'M DRIVING IT THEN I HAVE TO START THE SUV ABOUT 3 TIMES AND PUSH THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR FOR IT TO CATCH AND TAKE OFF AND ONCE I GET TO MY DESTINATION AND TURN THE SUV OFF IT SMELLS LIKE IT'S BURNING I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A MECHANIC THEY CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM BUT IT WASN'T IT PLEASE HELP ME FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE ON 10-19-2020 I WAS ALMOST IN A CAR ACCIDENT BECAUSE IT STALLED OUT ON ME ONCE I PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC
THE ENGINE STALLS OUT WHEN TAKING OFF AFTER NORMAL DRIVING AND IN ALL TEMPERATURES. IT WILL DRIVE FINE FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN IT WILL STALL OUT 4 OR 5 TIMES IN A SINGLE DAY AND FOR MULTIPLE DAYS. IT HAS STALLED OUT WHEN LEAVING A PARKING LOT INTO TRAFFIC, AS WELL AS WHEN ACCELERATING TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY.
VEH: 2013 FORD ESCAPE, SEL 1.6 LITER ENGINE, FRONT WHEEL DRIVE. I INTERMITTENTLY HAVE NO POWER STEERING WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AT THE TIMES I'VE EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM. IF THIS HAPPENS DURING DRIVING I WOULD BE UNABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE. DIAGNOSTIC CODE: U3000-49.
I HAVE A 2013 FORD ESCAPE 1.6 LITER. MANUFACTURE DATE IS 02/2013. APPARENTLY SLIGHTLY EARLIER MANUFACTURED ESCAPES HAD A RECALL FOR A COOLANT LEAK. FORD IS TELLING ME THIS CAR IS OUT OF THAT MANUFACTURE DATE YET THIS CAR IS NEARLY IN MINT CONDITION EXCEPT THIS ONE THING WHICH SEEMS A LITTLE IRONIC TO ME. IT IS LEAKING COOLANT SIGNIFICANTLY AND I CAN'T TELL WHERE FROM.
COOLANT LEAKING IN ENGINE 5/2017 COOLANT LEAKING IN ENGINE 10/2017 ON BOTH OCCASIONS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. I HAVE SINCE DISCOVERED A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM DATED 2012 AND I NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE. THEY TOLD ME MY VIN WASN'T AFFECTED. I SAY IT WAS. CAR IS DEAD NOW DUE TO COOLANT WARPING BOTTOM OF THE BLOCK. IT IS ON,Y 7YRS OLD! I HAVE DOCUMENTS FROM DEALERSHIP .I DON'T KNOW HOW TO UPLOAD. CAN SUPPLY RO #'S IF NEEDED
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST NOT WORKING. NO POWER STEERING IN VEHICLE AT ALL. ONLY 84,000MILES. LOOKED ONLINE AND SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED.
WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC MY CAR JUST STARTING SHAKING AND CUT OFF. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE JANUARY OF 2020 AND I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES AND THEY SAID THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY FIXED THE CANNISTER PURGE VALVE WHICH ACTUALLY MADE THE PROBLEM WORSE. I WAS DOING IT MAYBE ONCE A WEEK, NOW ITS DOING IT FOUR TIMES A DAY. THE FORD PLACE HAS TOLD ME THAT AT THIS POINT SINCE THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE JUST GUESSING WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE.
2013 FORD ESCAPE "OVERHEATED", SENT VEHICLE INTO LIMP MODE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. HAPPENED ON INTERSTATE AT HIGH SPEED (75 MPH) AND ALMOST GOT HIT. HAD TOWED TO FORD DEALERSHIP. SAID STAND PIPE IN COOLING SYSTEM WAS BAD. INFORMED 2014 ESCAPES RECALLED FOR THIS REASON AND THERE WERE A LOT OF OTHER 2013'S HE HAD SEEN FOR THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM!

THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE FAILURE ONLINE AND FOUND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN) WHICH HE LINKED TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VEHICLE'S MANUFACTURE DATE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 148,000.

THIS IS JUST ONE SITUATION I'VE ENCOUNTER WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THIS VEHICLE. IT KEEPS STALLING ON ME. WHEN I BACK OUT OF DRIVEWAY IT DIES. AT STOP SIGN, READY TO GO AND IT DIES. I'VE CALLED FORD AND THEY SAY IT'S NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE 3 GRANDCHILDREN AND IT DIED ON ME 3 TIMES WHEN THEY ARE N THE CAR WITH ME. FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP AND STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT BEFORE A FATALITY HAPPENS. LAWSUITS WILL BE COMING.
I STARTED MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE AND A LIGHT CAME ON STATING STEERING WHEEL MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE GARAGE AND WAS STATIONARY. I TRIED BACKING THE ESCAPE OUT OF THE GARAGE BUT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE LEFT OR RIGHT.. HAD I BEEN DRIVING THE ESCAPE ON A ROAD AND THIS HAPPENED IN WOULD HAVE BEEN A UNSAFE CONDITION BY NOT BEING ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE SAFELY. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSE A ACCIDENT OR EVEN DEATH BY NOT BEING ABLE TO STEER ESCAPE TO A SAFE PLACE. IT WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THE TECH SCANNED THE POWER STEERING MODULE AND FOUND A FAILURE CODE FOR THE STEERING GEAR. THE TECH INSTALLED NEW STEERING GEAR. HE RECOMMENDED IT SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN AND WAS LEFT THERE FOR REPAIR. THE TECH HAD ALSO STATED HE HAS SEEN THIS HAPPEN ALOT BEFORE TO FORD VEHICLES AND WAS SURPRISED IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. WITH THIS HAPPENING TO OTHERS, A RECALL OF THE STEERING MODULE AND GEAR NEEDS TO CHECKED OUT FOR THE SAFETY OF EVERYONE ON THE ROAD AS WELL AS FORD DRIVERS.

SOME TIMES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON BUT AFTER YOU TURN OFF THE CAR AND START IT BACK UP THE LIGHT GOES OFF. SMELL OF GAS COMING FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT BUT DEALER SAID NO LEAKS. FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND FIX THESE ISSUES. I CAN'T HAVE MY WIFE OR KIDS DRIVING A CAR THAT CAN DIE AT ANY TIME. SHOULD HAVE STAYED WITH THE CHEVROLET AT LEAST THAT ICAN WORK ON.
BOTH WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING MAKING IT EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. DEALERSHIP SAID BOTH MOTORS ARE BAD AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. AUTOMATIC LIGHTS JUST STARTED GOING ON RANDOMLY IN THE DAYLIGHT AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD BE ILLUMINATED WHEN NOT BRAKING. BACK WINDSHIELD WIPER SUDDENLY DOES OFF WHEN IT'S NOT TURNED ON. THE "ENGINE FAULT: SERVICE NOW " ERROR MESSAGE JUST POPPED UP ON MY DASHBOARD WHILE DRIVING. IT FELT LIKE MY CAR IS GOING TO STOP ANYTIME. IF YOU HAVE TO STOP ON A SIGNAL THEN IT FEELS LIKE CAR WILL NOT MOVE AGAIN , NO MATTER HOW MUCH ACCELERATION YOU DO.
I HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND BOUGHT USED FROM A DEALERSHIP SCOTT FORD. MY CAR HAD LOW MILES AND IT WAS IN MY BUDGET, PLUS GOOD ON GAS AND FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD FARLEY SAFE. THE THIRD TIME I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY FROM CAR LINE AND PARKED ACROSS 3 PARKING SPACES AS IT STALLED ON ME AGAIN. I POPPED MY HOOD AND MY ENGINE SEEMED TO BE EXTREMELY HOT, THEN I SAT THERE WITH MY 2 YOUNG CHILDREN, THANKFULLY ON A DECENTLY NICE DAY OUTSIDE FOR A HALF HOUR. I WAS ABLE TO START IT AGAIN AND WENT TO LEAVE TO HEAD HOME, AND JUST AS I WAS ABOUT TO GET INTO THE TURNING LANE IT STALLED RIGHT ACROSS ON COMING TRAFFIC. I HAD TO ROLL MY WINDO DOWN AND MOTION PEOPLE TO STOP AS I FRANTICALLY TRIED TO START MY CAR AGAIN. AFTER 2 TRIES I WAS ABLE TO START IT AND WENT INTO REVERSE AND PARKED IN THE SCHOOLS PARKING LOT, SINCE THIS INCIDENT MY CAR HAS STALLED A TOTAL OF 11 TIMES, AND JUST AGAIN ONCE THIS AFTERNOON WHEN I WAS LEAVING THE GROCERY STORE REVERSING OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT. CAR WILL INTERMITTENTLY STALL, GENERALLY AFTER STARTING. REGARDLESS OF GIVING IT GAS (PEDAL TO THE FLOOR), IT STALLS. I HAVE HAD BOTH THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR AND HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP REPLACED TWICE (EACH), AND YET THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. LOCAL MECHANIC HAD NO IDEA WHAT COULD BE CAUSING IT.

A DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V495000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 111,000.
ANY TIME I GET GAS THE CAR DOES NOT START IMMEDIATELY. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AND DECELERATING IT SHUT OFF ON ME. INITIALLY WAS TOLD IT WAS MY REMOTE START UNTIL I GOT GAS AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START. WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT IT SHUT OFF AND TOOK A MINUTE TO START BACK UP. WHILE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION THE CAR BEGAN TO MAKE A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE GAS TANK AND COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT RESTART.
LAST NIGHT LEAVING FROM WORK, IN THE DARK AT 9;30PM, STARTED CAR AND STARTED TO PULL OFF THE SHOULDER ONTO THE ROADWAY, PRESSED ONTO GAS PEDAL AND CAR WENT SLOW THEN THE ABS SENSOR CAME ON AND A SHORT DISTANCE LATER THE TRACTION CONTROL CAME ON ALONG WITH HILL ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE. I HAD THIS EXACT PROBLEM EARLIER THIS YEAR, ONLY THE ADDITION OF THE 4WD NOT BEING AVAILABLE AND IT WAS A BAD ABS SENSOR. I HAD IT REPLACED AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS UNTIL LAST NIGHT. THEN THIS MORNING, I HAD TO BACK UP TO GO TO WORK AND THE REAR END STOPPED THE CAR AND HAD THERE NOT BEEN ENOUGH ROOM I WOULD HAVE BEEN STUCK. I WAS ABLE TO GO FORWARD THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON, SHORT DISTANCE LATER THE TRACTION CONTROL CAME AND THEN WHEN I WENT TO PARK THE NO HILL ASSIST CAME ON. NOTHING VISIBLIY WRONG AGAIN. APPOINTMENT IN THE MORNING TO HAVE THE CODES READ AGAIN.
AFTER BACKING INTO THE DRIVEWAY, I PUT MOVED THE SHIFTER INTO PARK AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. I STEPPED OFF THE BRAKE AND THE CAR STARTED ROLLING DOWN THE DRIVE. I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON TO STOP THE ROLLING. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START BECAUSE THE CAR WAS NOT IN PARK. I AM ABLE TO MOVE THE SHIFTER BUT THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT CHANGE GEARS AT ALL.

ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2020, WITH ROUGHLY 45,000 MILES THE BRAKE LINE ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE BURST. THIS APPEARED TO HAVE HAPPENED DURING DRIVING CONDITIONS, AS THIS PROBLEM WAS NOT AN ISSUE THE PREVIOUS DRIVING OCCASION. THIS CAUSED ALL THE BRAKE FLUID TO BE EXPELLED FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS BEING DRIVEN. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF RUST WHEN INSPECTED BY A CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN.
DRIVING ON EXPRESSWAY, AND WAS LOSING SPEED. MY VEHICLE GAS PEDAL STOPPED WORKING TO HAVE ANY SPEED. A BRIGHT LIGHT CAME ON DASHBOARD: SERVICE TRANSMISSION, AND MY VEHICLE STOPPED. I HAD TO COAST IT OFF EXPRESSWAY SO I WOULDN'T GET HIT OR REAR ENDED. IT IS CURRENTLY AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP. I HAD IT TOWED THERE, BUT THEY AREN'T OPEN TIL MONDAY.

WHEN GAS WOULD GET PUMPED INTO THE CAR IT WOULDN'T START RIGHT AWAY AND WHEN IT DOES IT IDLES HARD AND RUNS ROUGH ALONG WITH BLACK SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE PIPES WITH AN OLD DEAD LIKE GAS SMELL.... I RESEARCHED AND DECIDED TO HAVE A DIAGNOSIS DONE WHICH TOLD ME IT WAS THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE I WATCHED VIDEOS WHERE THE NARRATOR WOULD HAVE THE ISSUE SOLVED BUT EVEN AFTER I GOT THAT WORKED ON THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO MAKE THE HUMMING NOISE ALSO CONTINUED TO DRIVE ROUGH... THERE HAS BEEN ONLY ONE SITUATION WHERE MY CAR ACTUALLY STALLED WHILE IN DRIVE AND IN MOTION. LITERALLY I WAS TURNING A CORNER USING MY BRAKE AFTER COMPLETING THE TURN I PRESSED THE GAS TO CONTINUE DRIVING AND ALL LIGHTS ON MY DASH CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP BUT I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT MADE IT CUT OFF...

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 122,000.
TRANSMISSION BEGAN FAILING APPROXIMATELY SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2018, JUST OVER 75,000 MILES AND AFTER THE EXPIRATION OF THE WARRANTY. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT IN JANUARY 2019 @ A COST OF $3300.00. THE ELECTRICAL CONTROLS (RADIO & HVAC) ON CONSOLE AND DASHBOARD HAVE A SHORTAGE AND GO OUT REGULARLY. I POINTED THIS SHORTAGE OUT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS FIXED WHEN I CAME TO PICK IT UP.. THERE ARE ALSO ISSUES WITH THE BATTERY. I REPLACED THE BATTERY IN NOVEMBER 2018 WITH A FORD BATTERY. 4 MONTHS LATER, IN FEBRUARY 2019 IT FAILED TO START DUE TO EXCESSIVE LEAKAGE WITH CORROSIVE EXPOSURE. FORD CROSSROADS REPLACED IT AT THAT TIME (2019) WITH ANOTHER NEW FORD BATTERY AND ON SEPTEMBER 10, 2020 THE BATTERY FAILED AGAIN. MECHANIC HAD TO CLEAN UP THE IRREGULAR CORROSION ON THE BATTERY AND THE POSTS. DOCUMENTATION IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THIS POST BUT CAN BE RETRIEVED IF REQUESTED.

CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SAY THE WORK WAS COMPLETED ON THIS VEHICLE ON 2/27/14. RECALL WASN'T ACTIVE TILL 1/3/2016. TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID WORK STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE. CONTACTED FORD DEALERSHIP IN AREA AND WAS TOLD THE RECALL HAD EXPIRED AND THEY WON'T DO THE WORK. JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE 3 MONTHS AGO. 1 PRIOR OWNER. 1 SERVICE CENTER USED TO SERVICE VEHICLE. CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. OBVIOUSLY FORDS SOLUTION TO THE ISSUES WAS ONLY TEMPORARY OR WORK WAS NOT DONE PROPERLY AS IT HAS FAILED AGAIN.
