I WAS JUST SLOWLY DRIVING MY CAR INTO A PARKING SPACE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HAD NO STEERING AND COULD NOT TURN MY WHEEL FORTUNATELY I WAS JUST ABOUT IN THE SPACE AND COASTED TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF TWO SPACES. I DON'T KNOW WHAT WOULD'VE HAPPENED HAD THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS IN TRAFFIC MAKING A TURN AT A CROSSROADS.
THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET. IT HAPPENS AT LEAST TWICE WHEN IT HAPPENS AND WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF HAVING STARTED THE VEHICLE. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY.
SMELL OF ANTIFREEZE AROUND ENGINE. RESOVOIR WAS LOW BUT NO SIGN OF LEAKS OR WET SPOTS ON GARAGE FLOOR. VERY APPARENT SMELL OF ANTIFREEZE. VECHILE OIL WAS CHANGED ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND ANTIFREEZE WAS ADDED TO OVERFLOW TANK, BUT NO LEAKS WERE FOUN.
CAR WAS STALLING MULTIPLE TIMES HAD REPAIRED MULTIPLE TIMES KEPT STALLING AND MISFIRING THE VEHICLE HAD 120K MILES ON IT LATEST TEST INDICATED CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK WHICH MAKES THE CAR USELESS. QUOTED NEW ENGINE BY FORD FOR 6K TO 8K TO FIX. CAR HAS HAD ISSUES FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS AND WAS RECALLED 15 TIMES. THE LATEST ISSUE OCCURED IN OCT 2019 AND HAD FUEL SENSOR REPLACED TWO MONTHS LATER STALLED ON HIGHWAY AND ASKED DEALER TO FIX THAT OCCURED ON DEC20 AND THE FIRST DATE TO FIX WAS LISTED AS JAN 07 DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE DEALER WAS FIXING SO MANY RECALLS
ON AT LEAST 9 OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST YEAR, CAR STALLED WHEN COMING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, DRIVING STRAIGHT AT 10MPH OR LESS. SEQUENCE WAS: 1) THE CAR WAS WARMED UP DRIVING TO A STORE; 2) ENGINE WAS OFF FOR AT LEAST TWENTY MINUTES WHILE IN STORE; 3) AFTER LEAVING STORE AND STARTING CAR, THE CAR STALLED WITHIN A MINUTE. UPON STALLING, ENGINE COULD BE RESTARTED WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE CAUSE. NO PARTS HAD BEEN REPLACED ON THE CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. WHEN THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO NEUTRAL. THE CONTACT HAD ASSISTANCE WITH PLACING THE GEAR IN DRIVE AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC RELEASED THE GEAR SHIFTER LEVER IN ORDER TO DRIVE; HOWEVER, THE GEAR COULD NOT BE SHIFTED INTO REVERSE OR PARK. THE CONTACT ALSO HAD TO CHARGE THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE BATTERY HAD TO BE CHARGED AGAIN DUE TO THE GEAR SHIFTER NOT ENGAGING INTO PARK OR REVERSE. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,826.
AFTER SERVICE AT A FORD DEALERSHIP, I FOUND I HARDLY HAD ANY BRAKING POWER WHEN EXITING THEIR LOT. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO DEPRESS, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD ALMOST COAST TO A STOP. DEALER SAID IT IS THE VACUUM LINE; A $300+ SERVICE. I WAS LUCKY AS I HAVE READ ABOUT THE ENTIRE VACUUM PUMP SHEARING ON OTHER ESCAPES WHILE BEING DRIVEN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH WITH THE SPEED CONTROL ENGAGED AND MAKING A RIGHT FROM A STOP LIGHT, THE ENGINE OVER HEATING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY, TURN OFF THE VEHICLE WAITED A FEW MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AUTO ZONE WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS COOLANT FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT COOLANT WAS ADDED AND NO LEAKS WERE NOTICED UNTIL RECENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT LEAST A SIXTH OF A GALLON OF COOLANT NEEDED TO BE ADDED TO THE VEHICLE. THE LOW COOLANT WARNING ILLUMINATED AS WELL AS THE OVER HEATING WARNING AND THERMOSTAT INCREASE WARNING AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT STAYS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED RESEARCHED FAILURE ON-LINE AND FOUND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V551000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL DUE VEHICLE WAS NOT MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 5, 2011 THROUGH NOVEMBER 26, 2012 WAS THE CONTACT STATED HAS SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH ZECK FORD (4501 S.4TH ST. LEAVENWORTH, KS 66408). THE MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED OF FAILURE AND ADVISED CONTACT TO SCHEDULE DIAGNOSED APPOINTMENT WITH A LOCAL FORD DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,496.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHAKER'S FAMILY FORD LINCOLN (831 STRAITS TURNPIKE, WATERTOWN, CT 06795) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR BEING UNPLUGGED FROM THE COOLANT TANK. THE DEALER REATTACHED THE SENSOR HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RELATED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V583000 (ENGINE) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
PREVIOUSLY HAD DEALER REPAIR COOLANT LEAK HOSES IN FIREWALL BUT NOT LISTED IN RECALL AS WAS FOCUS/FUSION. TOOK A WEEK TO COMPLETE. ENGINE JUST HAD A HIGH TEMP FRIDAY THE 13TH WHILE DRIVING TWO MILES ON A STRETCH AND STALLED OUT. TURNED OFF CLIMATE SYSTEM AND DROVE TO DEALER THE NEXT MORNING.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The contact stated that there was a message stating that the engine was overheating and to pull over. The contact was able to pull over safely and turned off the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the water pump was replaced, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the contact was informed that coolant was leaking into the engine, and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V583000 (Engine). The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 98,256.
STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN STARTED
THE ENGINE STALLS AT INTERSECTIONS. I'VE NOTICED IT'S WHEN THE FUEL IS LOW (40 MILES OR FEWER TO EMPTY)
MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE STALLS AND CUTS OFF WHEN IT GET CLOSE TO A QUARTER TANK OFF GAS AND I GO TO TAKE OFF IN ITI HAVE TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND IT HAS HAD TWO THING FIXED ON IT NEITHER FIXED THE PROBLEM AND NOW THERE NO CODE ON IT SO THERE SAYING NOTHING WRONG WITH IT
I BOUGHT THE 2013 ESCAPE BRAND NEW AND FOR 4 YEARS CAR RAN FINE THEN FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS THE CAR WOULD STALL AND I WOULD HAVE TO RESTART IT AND WOULD STALL AGAIN. THIS REPEATED FOR YEARS AND HAD IT FIXED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE CAR WAS ALSO LEAKING ANTI FREEZE AND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THAT I NEVER RECEIVED. AFTER THE LATEST STALLING ISSUES THE ENGINE BLOCK HAD A SMALL CRACK WHICH NOW I HAVE NOTIFIED THAT I WOULD NEED A NEW ENGINE AT COST OF 6K - 8K. THE CAR HAS 150K MILES WHICH IS NOT ALOT FOR CARS AND HAS BEEN VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE FOR YEARS, I WOULD NOT LET ANY ONE DRIVE THE CAR DUE TO THIS AS WAS SO DANGEROUS.
AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND STARTING TO PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED AND WOULDNT MOVE. THE GAS PEDAL WAS NO LONGER WORKING. THE CAR DID NOT SHUT OFF JUST COMPLETELY STOPPED.
AFTER DRIVING JUST 1 MILE ON CITY STREETS AT LESS THAN 40 MPH, MY FORD SUDDENLY DISPLAYED THESE ALARMS: "LOW COOLANT LEVEL, ENGINE OVERHEATING, PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY.". I PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALER. MECHANIC'S DIAGNOSIS: WARPED ENGINE BLOCK, WHICH ENABLED COOLANT TO LEAK INTO ONE OF THE CYLINDERS. IT TOOK 12 WEEKS AND $7,930 TO GET THE ENGINE REPAIRED. I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW ON OCTOBER 5, 2012. IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 37,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS HAPPENED. MY RESEARCH ON YOUR WEBSITE REVEALED THAT THIS CAR HAS BEEN THE SUBJECT OF 15 RECALLS, 3 OF WHICH HAD TO DO WITH ENGINE OVERHEATING AND LOSS OF ENGINE COOLANT. ONE OF THE LATTER RECALLS (FORD RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12S39) OCCURRED BEFORE I PICKED UP THE CAR, BUT I CONFIRMED THAT MY ENGINE WAS ONE OF THOSE AFFECTED BY THAT RECALL. THUS, I HAVE NO EVIDENCE THAT THE REPAIR RELATED TO THIS RECALL WAS EVER PERFORMED. I TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE OTHER RECALLS (FORD RECALLS 12S41 AND 13S12) ATTENDED TO. I ALSO DISCOVERED THAT AS OF 16-JULY-2018, THE OFFICE OF DEFECTS INVESTIGATION (ODI) HAD RECEIVED 40 VEHICLE OWNER QUESTIONNAIRE (VOQ) REPORTS FOR MODEL YEAR 2013 FORD ESCAPE VEHICLES REPORTING THAT THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY STALL WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING. THE SUBJECT VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A 1.6L GTDI (TURBO) ENGINE. COMPLAINANTS ALLEGED STALLING CAUSED BY OVERHEATING OF THE ENGINE RESULTING IN DELAYED OR NO RESTART POSSIBLE. THIS ENGINE IS THE ONE I AM WRITING ABOUT. THE MECHANIC WHO REPAIRED MY VEHICLE ALSO REPORTED THAT THIS WAS THE THIRD OR FOURTH SUCH REPAIR THAT HE HAD PERSONALLY CONDUCTED. MY TWO PHONE CALLS TO FORD MOTOR CO. CUSTOMER SERVICE HAVE BEEN UNFULFILLING. THE CAR IS NO LONGER COVERED BY ITS 5-YEAR WARRANTY DESPITE THAT FACT THAT IT HAS ONLY 37,000 MILES ON IT, AND I HAVE ALWAYS HAD IT SERVICED PROPERLY.
THE PAST MONTH THE CAR HAS STALLED OUT WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES 15 TO 30 SECONDS AFTER STARTING, IN STATIONARY POSITION OTHER TIMES WHILE IN TRAFFIC. MY DAUGHTER WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT, WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE TURNING IN A BUSY INTERSECTION ON A CITY STREET. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY.
MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE REQUIRES A COMPLETE UPGRADE OF THE EGR SYSTEM DUE TO COOLANT LEAKS. FORD ESCAPES BUILD AT THE LOUISVILLE PLANT ALREADY HAVE A RECALL IN PLACE FOR THIS ISSUE - RECALL #17S09. MY VEHICLE'S VIN NUMBER VERIFIES, PER FORD, THAT MY VEHICLE WAS BUILD IN DECEMBER 2012 AT THE LOUISVILLE PLANT; HOWEVER, THE RECALL WAS INITIATED FOR VEHICLES BUILT BEGINNING IN FEBRUARY 2013. MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES AS THE RECALL AND WAS BUILT AT THE SAME PLANT SO I AM REQUESTING THAT THE RECALL DATE BE MOVED BACK TO INCLUDE 2012 FORD ESCAPES.
We have had massive probelms with the 2013 Ford Escape. We have had to have engine repairs done due to it jumping time, replaced the turbo, we have gotten really poor gad mileage and have to have transmission rebuilt . we continually since purchase expereinced nothing but probelms. we get messages stating 4wd unavailble, hill start assist not engaged. and so much more. this has been the worst vechile we have ever owned

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS LEAKING COOLANT, BUT THE ORIGIN OF THE LEAK COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. GURLEY LEEP FORD (320 E IRELAND RD, SOUTH BEND, IN 46614) WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURES VIA PHONE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,402.
THE CAR STALLS OUT FROM A STANDING STOP RANDOMLY AND WITHOUT WARNING, YET NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT EVER COMES ON. IT IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT HAS STALLED JUST AS I'M PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. IT HAS RANDOMLY BEEN HAPPENING IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS.

THE CONTACT ADDED ANTIFREEZE AND NOTICED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE AND TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE PULL OVER SAFELY MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JOE MACHENS FORD (1911 W WORLEY ST, COLUMBIA, MO 65203) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE BLOCK WAS CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
2013 FORD ESCAPE HAS BEEN STALLING OUT WHEN AT LOW RPMS, FOR EXAMPLE, PULLING OUT OF A PARKING STALL IN REVERSE AND THEN SWITCHING TO DRIVE, CAR WILL STALL OUT. IT SPUTTERS, THEN DIES OUT. I SWITCHED OUT THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL FILTER AND ALSO THE LOW PRESSURE SENSOR WITH OEM PARTS AND STILL HAPPENS. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN OFTEN BUT I NOTICED THAT WHEN I'M DOING ERRANDS AND HAVING TO TURN ON/OFF THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES IN THE DAY IT WILL EVENTUALLY START DOING THIS. AFTER SWITCHING THOSE PARTS MENTIONED ABOVE NOW I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH LOW MILEAGE. THE 'MILES TO EMPTY' GAUGE SAYS LIKE 400+ MILES WHEN IT ONLY ACTUALLY GAVE ME 190 FOR THE WHOLE TANK! THAT'S CRAZY! I HAVE NOTICED THAT FUEL GETS CONSUMED A LOT ! CAN FORD FIGURE THIS OUT? I CHECKED MY VIN BUT MY CAR IS NOT THE ONES AFFECTED BUT I KNOW IT IS. IM WORRIED ABOUT MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS ON THE ROAD WHEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
I OWN A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. I CAN BE DRIVING ALONG AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STALLS WITH NO WARNING. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP AND AFTER LOTS OF MONEY OUT OF POCKET , I STILL DO NOT HAVE A RESOLUTION. THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND FIX THE PROBLEM.

THE DRIVER WAS INFORMED THAT THE BELTS AND CLUTCHES IN THE TRANSMISSION WERE SLIPPING WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER A DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,529.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the engine temperature gauge suddenly indicated the engine had overheated and an audible alarm was activated. Additionally, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle independently decelerated. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the coolant control sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The sensor was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the sensors were replaced three times however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 79,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY LOSE POWER AND SHUT DOWN. THIS MOST RECENTLY HAPPEND WHILE GOING 60 MPH ON THE FREEWAY. THIS HAS HAPPEND 3 TIMES IN 2 WEEKS WHILE DRIVING. SOUND FORD SAYS THEY CAN NOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM.
THE VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET SUDDENLY DECELERATED AND GOES AT A VERY SLOW SPEED. THE ACCELERATOR WILL NOT MOVE THE CAR FORWARD OR FASTER. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT IT MAY BE AN ISSUE WITH THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING. THERE WAS A RECALL: 18S20 BUT WHEN I INQUIRED WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-866-436-7332 THEY STATED THE VIN TO MY CAR WAS NOT ON RECALL. REFERRED ME TO NHTSA OR A FORD DEALER DIRECTLY. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND IF THE VEHICLE IS THE YEAR AND MODEL WHY MY CAR IS EXCLUDED FROM THIS RECALL
CAR HAS BEEN STALLING OUT OUT OF NOWHERE WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS. USUALLY IT WILL START TO PUTTER AND THEN IT LOSES POWER AND COMPLETELY STALLS. I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART THE CAR. THIS HAPPENED TO ME WHILE PULLING ONTO A BUSY STATE ROUTE HWY OUT OF MY PARENTS DRIVEWAY, ALMOST CAUSING MY 5 YEAR OLD SON AND I TO BE HIT BY CARS COMING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO ROLL INTO THE DRIVEWAY NEXTDOOR BEFORE THE CARS COULD HIT ME. THERE IS ONLY 125,000 MILES ON MY CAR. THE FORD MECHANIC SAID THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND HAS TO DO WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND SENSORS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I COULDN'T BE MORE UPSET.
A SMALL COOLANT RETURN LINE ON BACKSIDE OF MOTOR WAS MIS-CRIMPED CAUSING IT TO SEPARATE AND COOLANT TO LEAK ONTO MOTOR WHILE DRIVING. THERE WAS NO INDICATOR LIGHT TELLING ME COOLANT WAS LOW. CAR SHUT DOWN DUE TO EXTREME TEMPERATURE, AND MOTOR STARTED SMOKING FROM COOLANT LEAKING ON HOT MOTOR. LUCKILY I WAS ON A CITY STREET AND WAS ABLE TO PULL TO SIDE OF ROAD SAFELY. I CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WASN'T AFFECTED BY PREVIOUS RECALLS FOR SAME PROBLEM AND WERE VERY RUDE ABOUT IT. THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURED DEFECT AND LUCKILY THE CAR DIDN'T CATCH FIRE DUE TO THIS DEFECT. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

(2801 S 11TH ST, NILES, MI 49120) WHERE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE SECURITY SYSTEM AND KEY FOB. THEY STATED THAT ANOTHER KEY NEEDED TO BE MADE. THE ISSUE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR A MONTH WITH NO FIX YET FOR THE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER JUST STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,653.
VEHICLE REPEATEDLY STALLS AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND TAKING OFF. THE VEHICLE WILL START AND THEN I BEGIN DRIVING AND IT WILL SHUTTER, LOSE ACCELERATION ABILITY, AND STALL OUT. THEN I HAVE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD OR PARKING LOT AND RESTART. SOMETIMES IT STARTS AFTER A LITTLE DELAY JUST FINE, AND OTHER TIMES I HAD HAPPENED BACK TO BACK TWO TO THREE TIMES. NO WARNING LIGHTS REMAIN. I ALSO HAD COOLANT LEAK OCCUR. JUST GOT ENGINE HOSES, SENSORS, A NEW FUEL PUMP IN HOPES OF FIXING THE COOLANT LEAK AND THE STALLING. TOO SOON TO TELL IF THE COOLANT PROBLEM IS GONE, BUT STALLING IS STILL OCCURRING! FEELS EXTREMELY UNSAFE IN A VEHICLE THAT RANDOMLY STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE ON THE FREEWAY, MY CAR JUST LOST POWER. WE HAD JUST HIT THE TAIL END OF RUSH HOUR JUST SOUTH OF PORTLAND, OR (HEADING SOUTH TO A FUNERAL) SO TRAFFIC WAS FLOWING PRETTY GOOD BUT NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR CRUISE CONTROL. I WAS GOING ABOUT 65-70 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR STOP ACCELERATING AND STARTED COASTING. MY TACHOMETER WENT ALL THE WAY UP TO THE RED SINCE MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE GAS. I IMMEDIATELY HIT MY HAZARDS AND MERGED TO THE NEXT OFF RAMP. I NEVER HAD ANY INDICATOR LIGHTS COME ON SAYING THAT I NEEDED TO CHECK MY FLUIDS BUT WE FOUND A WAY TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WHICH WAS FINE, LET THE CAR REST THEN STARTED IT BACK UP. CAR WAS FINE AFTER THAT BUT WE STILL TURNED AROUND AND HEADED BACK HOME TO WASHINGTON. DID NOT HAVE AN ISSUE THE WHOLE RIDE BACK HOME. SPORADICALLY MY CAR WILL HAVE ISSUES BUT CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE REASON FOR IT.
THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY STALLS, WITH ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF, WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THE STALLING OCCURS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BRAKING, OR SLOWING DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS, AND I HAVE TO COMPLETELY STOP THE VEHICLE, PUT IT IN PARK, AND THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE IT TOOK THEM A DAY AND A HALF TO DIAGNOSE THAT IT WAS AN EVAPORATIVE PURGE VALVE THAT WAS STICKING OPEN. THE REPAIR COST CAME TO $629.97, PLUS $68.86 FOR A RENTAL CAR. THE VEHICLE RAN FOR ABOUT 1.5 MONTHS WITH NO PROBLEMS, BUT IS NOW STALLING AGAIN WITH THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS AS BEFORE.

This Vechicle has been serviced at Ford Dealership since purchasing it.every 3,000 miles synthetic oil change, balance, rotate and eliminate if needed and certified inspection at a cost of $412.00 plus any repairs. The Vechicle started overheating while my daughter was taking her kids to school in the neighborhood, she hurried and used the onboard fire extinguisher due to all the smoke and the children were in restraints car seats. This issue is a100% match to the recall for this Vechicle (not my vin?) the fuel line is also leaking and matches recall 100%. Ford needs to include my Vechicle it’s been sitting ever since the incident.

VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A FORD DEALERSHIP IN FAYETTEVILLE, NC TO HAVE SEVERAL RECALLS FIXED INCLUDING THE "13S12 RISK OF LOCALIZED OVERHEATING OF THE ENGINE CYLINDER HEAD THAT MAY LEAD TO OIL LEAK FIRES" IN JANUARY 2018. IN NOVEMBER 2018 THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP IN SOUTHERN PINES, NC DUE TO THE ENGINE OVERHEATING WHILE THE VEHICLE HAD DRIVEN ABOUT 10 FEET OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. I WAS TOLD IT WAS ONLY LOW ON COOLANT AND WHEN I EXPLAINED THE PREVIOUS ISSUES THEY CLAIMED THEY WERE FIXED. AGAIN IN NOVEMBER 2019 THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING A SHORT DISTANCE DOWN THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP ON FORT BRAGG. WHILE LOOKING AT THE VEHICLE THE REPAIR SHOP NOTED TWO SAFETY RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE, ONE PERTAINING TO THE ENGINE OVERHEATING. WHEN I CALLED THE PREVIOUS DEALERSHIPS ABOUT THIS THEY CLAIMED THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE RELATING TO THE ENGINE. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT OPTIONS FOR THEM TO FIX AN ISSUE THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE ALREADY FIXED, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS OVER A YEAR SINCE IT WAS DONE SO THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE. THE ISSUE HAS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED IT WITH THE RECALL WORK. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH SYSTEMS NOT COMMUNICATING THE SAME INFORMATION FOR RECALLS. THE ISSUE WAS OBVIOUSLY NOT RESOLVED AND NOW I WILL HAVE TO PAY TO FIX A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM THAT THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE. IF THEY CLAIM TO HAVE FIXED THE SAFETY RECALL ISSUE AND IT STILL PERSISTS, DO THEY NOT HAVE TO FIX IT?

I AM ALSO AWARE THAT OTHER BLOCKS OF THIS SAME VEHICLE HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM. I SUSPECT THIS VIHICLE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM
WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY 82, A FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, THERE WAS NO NOTICE OF A FIRE WITHIN THE CAB. NO SMELL AND NO VISIBLE SMOKE. AFTER BEING FLAGGED DOWN ABOUT IT, WE MANAGED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND SAVE JUST A FEW THINGS OUT OF THE CAR, BEFORE THE FRONT HALF OF THE VEHICLE BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ( US 82 IN TEXAS), THERE WERE FLAMES SEEN COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. A SEPARATE VEHICLE PULLED UP BESIDE OUR 2013 FORD ESCAPE, AND YELLED THAT THE CAR WAS ON FIRE. MY SON QUICKLY PULLED OVER, AND HE AND HIS MOTHER QUICKLY GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND BACKED AWAY FROM IT. A FIRE TRUCK CAME AND PUT OUT THE FIRE, BUT THE CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS. MY WIFE WAS ALSO TREATED FOR SMOKE INHALATION ON SITE, AND LATER HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE SHE WAS STILL HAVING PROBLEMS BREATHING. I HAVE CHECKED THE VIN ON OUR VEHICLE, BUT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON OUR VIN. AFTER RESEARCH, I SEE THAT THERE HAS BEEN OTHER FIRE ISSUES WITH OTHER VINS. I BELIEVE OUR SITUATION NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT, BECAUSE THE RECALL MAY NEED TO BE EXPANDED. WE ARE CURRENTLY UPSIDE DOWN ON OUR CAR NOTE, AND WILL LOOSE ABOUT $4,000 OUT OF POCKET.
