TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE IS EXPERIENCING CRACKING IN THE LEATHER OF THE FRONT SEAT BOLSTER. IT IS SUCH A FRUSTRATING PROBLEM TO HAVE ON A CAR THAT IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD. THERE IS A TSB #15-0129 IN REFERENCE TO THIS APPARENTLY KNOWN PROBLEM. I JUST HOPE THAT IF THERE ARE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS MAYBE FORD WILL ISSUE A RECALL AND REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THANK YOU, *TR
TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR COOLANT LEAK ONLY TO FIND OUT THE WATER PUMP HAD A LEAK. I AM ONLY AT 70,000 MILES. THIS SEEMS VERY SUSPECT. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE? THIS WAS THE 3RD CHECK UP IN LESS THAN 21 DAYS FOR THE SAME LEAK BEFORE IT WAS IDENTIFIED BY THE DEALER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. WHEN THE DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, THE TEMPERATURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEATER HOSE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,015.

THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE OF WHICH WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR IN THE COOLING SYSTEM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MY CAR STARTED ACTING UP WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT HAS RUN AT LOWER SPEEDS , SPUTTERING AND SEEMS TO HAVE LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING IN LOCAL CONDITIONS NO MORE THAN 15 MILES OR SO. I CALLED FORD WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, AND THEY OFFERED TO TOW IT. AT FIRST THEY MADE IT SEEM LIKE EVERYTHING IS COVERED, AND NOW ITS 2 WEEKS LATER AFTER THEM TELLING ME ITS SOME SORT OF SENSOR THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THE COST IS 1100 DOLLARS, THE CAR IS 3 YEARS OLD WITH 30000 MILES ON IT , THEY WILL NOT FIX THE CAR UNTIL PAYMENT IS MADE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING ON THE REMEDY AND PARTS TO BE SUPPLIED TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT SMELLED AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE VENTILATION. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE, BUT NOTICED THAT COOLANT WAS MISSING. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO REFILL THE COOLANT IN THE VEHICLE, BUT IT CONTINUED TO DEPLETE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: CAS12347863. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000.
DRIVER'S SEAT BELT TENSIONER QUIT WORKING. SEAT BELT WILL NO LONGER TIGHTEN WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. THE SEAT BELT WILL NOT RESTRAIN THE DRIVER IN THE EVENT OF A SUDDEN STOP.
RECALL AND DEALER HAS NOT TAKEN ACTION OR NOTIFIED US.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AGAIN WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT IT NEEDED COOLANT. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
TRAVELING AT 45 MPH STOPPED TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AND THE ENGINE STALLED FOR AROUND THE 6TH TIME IN THE LAST MONTH. THE CAR IS HARD STARTING AFTER THIS HAPPENS. THE IS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE GAS TANK. BEEN CHECKED OUT BY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND CANT DUPLICATE BECAUSE NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. TALKS TO FORD SERVICE AND THEY SAY NOTHING UNLESS IT THROWS A CODE. VERY WORRIED THAT THIS WILL CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT IN THE FUTURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE ASIDE FROM THE OFFICIAL RECALLS ISSUED ON MY SPECIFIC CAR. STARTED LOSING COOLANT. WOULD STALL AFTER STARTING AND SLUGGISH DURING ACCELERATION. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP WERE I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR AND BATTERY. (NO MENTION OF COOLANT LEAK UNTIL I PUSHED FURTHER) NEW PARTS COST ME NEARLY $600 AND I WAS THEN TOLD THAT I NEEDED A NEW CYLINDER HEAD (THAT WAS CAUSING COOLANT LEAK). PRICE FOR NEW CYLINDER HEAD UPWARDS OF $3000 (OUT OF WARRANTY BY 4000 MILES). I TOOK THE CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP WITHOUT CYLINDER HEAD REPAIR. STILL STALLING AFTER STARTED AND SLUGGISH DURING ACCELERATION EVEN THO FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE PROBLEM. A FEW WEEKS LATER THE CAR STARTED TO SMELL LIKE GAS WHILE I WAS DRIVING. DISCOVERED A CRACKED FUEL LINE SPRAYING INTO ENGINE COMPARTMENT. CALLED FORD BECAUSE THIS ISSUE IS PART OF A RECALL. THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS NOT FOR MY VEHICLE BUT IF THEY DECIDED TO INCLUDE IT LATER I WOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIR. LASTLY, I WAS DRIVING THE CAR WHEN I HEARD AN ODD METAL ON METAL TYPE OF NOISE. I STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND THE CAR SHUT OFF. NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH TO TELL ME WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM. PUSHED THE CAR INTO A PARKING AND DISCOVERED THAT IT HAD A BLOWN HEAD GASKET AND OIL IN THE WATER AND A DIFFERENT PART OF GAS LINE HAD CRACKED SPRAYING FUEL INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AGAIN. THIS CAR NEVER ONCE OVERHEATED SO THERE IS NO REASON IT SHOULD HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. SO NOW THE CAR IS NOT QUITE 4 YEARS OLD AND NOT DRIVABLE.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL SOUND COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000. UPDATED 01/12/2017*LJ CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING THEY HEAR A LOUD NOISE OR HUMMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR AROUND THE GAS TANK TRAVELING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 45 TO 60 MPH AND WHEN THEY COME TO A STOP THE CAR STALLS AND THE OIL AND BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON. MY FIANC AND I WERE PULLING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND STOPPED COMPLETELY. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE THE SIDE AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY AND MY FIANC IS VERY LUCKY TO BE ALIVE! IT WASN'T UNTIL WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THAT WE REALIZED THAT THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAS HAD SO MANY RECALLS. THERE ALSO HAS BEEN SO MANY OFFICIAL STALLING COMPLAINTS THAT AN INVESTIGATION HAD BEEEN NECESSARY! SINCE THE ACCIDENT, THE STALLING ISSUE HAS NOT IMPROVED BUT WORSENS AND IS NOW STALLING EVERYTIME WE PUT GAS INTO THE VEHICLE. IT STALLS AND WON'T START AGAIN. HE WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY; UPON EXITING THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SHUT COMPLETELY OFF AT THE HIGHWAY EXIT RAMP LUCKILY HE WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OFF ON THE SHOULDER OR HE WOULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN YET ANOTHER ACCIDENT AND POTENTIALLY KILLED! FORD REALLY NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM! THESE VEHICLES HAVE BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ MOST ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE FROM THE BEGINNING OF OWNING THE VEHICLE. WHEN MY FIANC WAS INJURED IN THE FIRST STALLING ACCIDENT WE WEREN'T THE OWNERS OF THE VEHICLE, MY AUNT WAS ALLOWING US TO BORROW HER VEHICLE AND SHE RECENTLY SOLD IT TO US; NOW THAT WE OWN THE VEHICLE WE REALIZE THAT THE ACCIDENT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED AND SHOULD HAVE! ALSO I UNDERSTAND THE SIDE AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYING IS ANOTHER RECALL ISSUE THAT HASN'T BEEN ADDRESSED WITH OUR SUV!
***NO ACCIDENT*** FORD DEALER DIAGNOSIS FOUND CODES P2036 AND P26B7 AS MAP SENSOR AND PEFR WIRE AND ENGINE COOLANT BYPASS VALVE. THE FORD DEALER STATED THAT THIS VEHICLE VIN#[XXX] IS NOT UNDER RECALL AND WANTS OVER $1100.00 TO REPAIR . THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 15V813000 COVERS THIS VEHICLE'S DIAGNOSIS MADE BY FORD AND SHOULD BE RECALLED ALSO UNDER FORD'S RECALL NUMBER 14S17-S1. I'VE CALLED FORD MOTOR CORP. A SECOND TIME 11/16/16 AND WAS GIVEN CASE #11069892 AND THEN TRANSFERRED OVER TO THE DEALER WHO AGAIN STATED THIS VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING ABILITY UNTIL SEVERAL MINUTES LATER AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS WARMED UP. THE FAILURE OCCURRED DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PADUCAH FORD LINCOLN, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
ON AT LEAST FOUR OCCASIONS LOST ABILITY TO ACCELERATE CAR. FIRST TWO TIMES IT WAS SELF LIMITING. THE THIRD TIME CAR STALLED WAS STARTED AGAIN I DROVE IT AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED, COULD NOT ACCELERATE AND IT ALSO SEEMED THAT THE CAR IN MOTION WAS NOT RESPONSIVE. FOR THE THIRD OCCURRENCE I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY COULD FIND NO ISSUES WITH THE CAR AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE BEHAVIORS I HAD DESCRIBED. THE FOURTH TIME I HAD JUST THAT DAY PICKED THE CAR UP FROM THE DEALERSHIP AFTER BEING SERVICED FOR A LEAK IN THE COOLANT HOSE, MY 60,000 MILE CHECK UP AND FOR MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT WAS ON. THE HOSE BEING REPLACED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS RESET AND FOUND TO HAVE NO REASON FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT TO BE ON. I DROVE THE CAR HOME AND WHILE IN PARK IT STALLED. I STATED IT BACK UP AND IT KEPT EXHIBITING THE SAME INABILITY TO EXCEL, I SEEMED TO HAVE LITTLE CON TROLL OF IT , IT STALLED AGAIN, STARTED AGAIN AND I PRESSED ON THE GAS UNTIL I WAS HOME THREE BLOCKS AWAY. I FELT THE CAR NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD THEM SEND A TOW TRUCK TO PICK UP MY CAR AND BRING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT IS NOW. WHEN IT STALLED I WAS ON A CITY STREET AND ABLE TO PULL OVER WITH NO HARM.
VEHICLE STALLS OUT WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER STARTING AND ALSO WHEN ACCELERATING IN HIGHWAY DRIVING. RECENTLY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. BARELY AVOIDED ACCIDENT. HAVE TO SHUT OFF AND RESTART. LOCAL DEALER IS SERVICING FUEL SYSTEM AT THIS TIME.THE SERVICE REP STATED THAT IT COULD BE A FUEL SENSOR. RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND SAME/SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PLACE MOTOR, INC (800-649-5785, LOCATED AT 19 THOMPSON RD, WEBSTER, MA 01570) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
CAN NOT CHANGE TIRE! LUG WRENCH PROVIDED WILL NOT WORK OR WOULD ANY OTHER SOCKET OR TOOL I HAVE? FORD TOLD ME THIS IS MY PROBLEM( THEY CALL LUG "SWELLING"). SERVICE MANUAL DOES NOT HAVE TO REPLACE LUGS AS PART OF ROUTEINE MAINTANCE??
THE MYFORDTOUCH SYSTEM WILL SPORADICALLY SHUT DOWN. AT TIMES THIS SHUT DOWN IS EVIDENCED BY A LOUD POP THROUGH THE AUDIO SPEAKERS, THEN THE AUDIO GOES OUT AND THE BLUETOOTH PHONE CONNECTION RESETS. OFTEN IT WILL DISPLAY AN ERROR SCREEN SAYING "SHUTTING DOWN TO SAVE BATTERY" WITH A PROGRESS BAR. THAT PROGRESS BAR NEVER FINISHES TO THE RIGHT BEFORE THE SYSTEM RESTARTS. THIS WILL HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES DURING A TRIP, WITH NO SIMILAR CHARACTERISTICS BETWEEN TRIPS WHERE THIS ISSUE OCCURS (DAY/NIGHT, HIGHWAY/CITY, WARM/COLD, DRIVING OR STOPPED, NONE OF IT MATTERS) AND I CAN'T RECREATE IT ON DEMAND. IT WILL HAPPEN ONE DAY AND THEN NOT FOR A WEEK OR TWO. THE LACK OF ABILITY TO RECREATE MEANS THAT THE FORD DEALER WILL NOT REPAIR IT. THE FORD SERVICE REP SUGGESTED I REPLACE THE BATTERY AND ON HIS ADVICE I DID. HOWEVER, THIS NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. HE TESTED THE ALTERNATOR, AND CHECKED FOR ERROR CODES ALL WITH NO CHANGE IN THE SITUATION. ULTIMATELY IT HAS BEEN WITH THE DEALER 3 TIMES FOR SERVICE, WITH NO RESOLUTION. I HAVE VIDEO OF IT OCCURRING ON 11/6/2016. IT HAS HAPPENED AS FAR BACK AS JULY 2016. MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS TODAY, 11/10/2016 DATE ENTERED IN FIELD BELOW IS LAST TIME IT HAPPENED.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ABOUT 50MPH, THE CAR LOST ALL POWER AND IT ACTUALLY FELT AS IF THE SOMEONE HAD DEPRESSED THE BRAKES. SINCE I HAD NOT HIT THE BRAKES THE CAR BEHIND ME DID NOT SEE ANY BRAKE LIGHTS AND ALMOST RAMMED ME. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BRIEFLY AT SOME POINT BUT I CAN'T REMEMBER EXACTLY WHEN. MY CAR THEN STALLED. I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE OUT OF THE WAY. I TRIED STARTING AND IT WOULD NOT START. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES IT DID START UP AND DROVE PERFECTLY FINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME 3 TIMES OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. I SEARCHED RECALLS AND FOUND RECALL 14S17 AND NOTIFIED FORD. THEY SAID IT DOESN'T COVER MY VIN. WHY DOESN'T IT? THIS IS THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING AND IT LOOKS LIKE MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, HURT SOMEONE OR EVEN CAUSE DEATH! MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN NOV 2012 AND THE RECALL STATES THAT IT COVERS JAN 2012 TO APRIL 2013 BUT NOT MY VEHICLE. WHY???

I HAD GOTTEN INTO MY VEHICLE AND AFTER TURNING IT ON I MANAGED TO MAKE IT TO MY NEIGHBORS HOUSE. MY VEHICLE FOR THE SECOND TIME STARTED TO OVER HEAT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE WAS STATING THAT I NEED TO REFILL THE COOLANT. I JUST PARKED IT AND THE NEXT DAY WE HAD FILLED THE COOLANT AGAIN TAKEN IT TO GET THE ERROR CODES CHECKED AND WERE INFORMED WE NEED TO GET A NEW THERMOSTAT. WHEN TAKING IT TO THE MECHANICS THEY HAD TRIED EVERYTHING FROM CHECKING CODES TO DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET THE ISSUE TAKEN CARE OF DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO RE-CREATE THE CODES. THEY HAD INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH FORD, HOWEVER WHEN CONTACTING FORD THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. I CHECKED ONLINE AND SEE THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS, BUT MY VIN EVEN THOUGH HAVING THE QUALIFYING MANUFACTURING DATE IS NOT ELIGIBLE. I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 1 1/2 YEARS AND HAVE HAD IT SHUT DOWN ON ME, NOT HAVE ANY POWER, START TO PUT AND STALL, REFILLING COOLANT EVERY SO OFTEN, OVER HEAT, AND I CAN NEVER GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON IN VEHICLE. COOLANT BYPASS VALVE IS STATED AS NOT WORKING. ARE WE ABLE TO FIND OUT IF THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN DUE TO RECALL FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS.
Engine coolant low message has continually been an issue with this car since it was purchased used at the end of 2013. It got so bad that at one time I would have to carry antifreeze with me. I have replaced the water pump, hoses, thermostat housing, and other parts at considerable expense. I noticed that NHTSA ID # 10218621 refers to 1.5L EcoBoost engines built before June 10, 2019 in 2017 thru 2019 Ford Escapes does not pertain to my car because I have a 1.6L EcoBoost engine, but what is described in that notice and the Ford Technical Service Bulletin 22-2322 is exactly what is happening to my car. I believe Ford has the same problem with this 1.6L EcoBoost engine. My problems began in 2016 and twice since the engine temp spiked to extremely hot without warning and the car had to be shut down while driving causing extreme safety issues.

AGAIN ON INTERSTATE & ENGINE HESITATION, MOVED TO RIGHT LANE FOR FEAR OF STALL. DEALER DIAGNOSED ENGINE WIRING ASSEMBLY FAILURE. I STARTED MY CAR AND AS I PUT THE 2013 FORD ESCAPE IN REVERSE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, THE STEERING WHEEL FELT IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE. KNOWING THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD SO MANY DANGEROUS ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH RECALLS IN THE PAST, I DECIDED NOT TO DRIVE IT ANY FURTHER. AS IT WAS STILL SAFELY IN MY DRIVEWAY, I PLACED IT IN PARK, SHUT IT OFF, AND OPTED TO USE ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE ESCAPE SAT THERE UNDISTURBED FOR TWO DAYS. THEN, MY HUSBAND TRIED TO USE IT AND UPON STARTING HE NOTICED A WARNING IN THE DISPLAY THAT STATED STEERING ASSIST FAULT. HE OPTED NOT TO USE THE VEHICLE EITHER AS HE ALSO NOTICED THAT IT SEEMED AS IF THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING. I HAVE A CALL INTO A LOCAL DEALER TO TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE, BUT SEE NO LOGICAL REASON FOR THIS VEHICLE TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH STEERING. IT IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD AND HAS 30K MILES. I ONLY USE THE VEHICLE TO RUN ERRANDS IN TOWN AND HAVE KEPT UP WITH ROUTINE MAINTENANCE.
