36,000 MILES AND THE DIGITAL DASHBOARD DISPLAY GOES COMPLETELY BLANK AND CANNOT BE REBOOTED. DEALER ADVISES THAT ENTIRE UNIT MUST BE REPLACED AT A COST OF APPROX. $1000! UNBELIEVABLE. SOME MODELS 2014-2015 WERE RECALLED DUE TO THIS EXACT PROBLEM, BUT APPARENTLY MINE WAS NOT ACCORDING TO THE VIN
TAKADA RECALL I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT WHERE A DRIVER RAN THE RED LIGHT AND T BONED MY CAR WITH GREAT FORCE CAUSING A THREE OTHER CARS TO BE HIT AND MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY .IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL SATURDAY AFTERNOON AROUND 3:30PM IN HOUSTON TX.
WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THIS RECALL WAS ALREADY IN AFFECT
IN JANUARY 2018 I HAD JUST PURCHAED THE VEHICLE IN JULY 2017) WHEN I RECEIVED MY RECALL LETTER I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER REGARDING THE RECALL. ON FEB. 19, 2018 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. WHEN I PICKED IT UP THEY SAID THEY WOULD ORDER THE PARTS. I CONTACTED THEM AGAIN IN APRIL BECAUSE I HAD NOT HEARD FROM THEM. THEY FIRST SAID THEY COULDNT FIND ME LETTER BUT WOULD CHECK TO SEE IF THE PARTS HAD BEEN ORDERED AND WOULD CALL ME. NO CALL! I CALLED THE NEXT MORNING AND THE OWNER INDICATED THAT THEY MAY HAVE JUST BEEN BUSY BUT IF THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME THEY WOULD. IT IS NOW MAY 21, 2018 AND I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM THEM.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERGOING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE DEALER (LAKE KEOWEE FORD, 859 BYPASS 123, SENECA, SC 29678) INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT WITH THE LUG NUTS ON THE TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE DEFECT WITH THE LUG NUTS. DUE TO THE LUG NUTS PASSING THE NEW VEHICLE WARRANTY OF 3 YEARS OR 36,000 MILES, THEY CONSIDERED IT TO BE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THE DEALER REFUSED TO ROTATE THE TIRES DUE TO THE LUG NUTS. THE HEAD OF THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED THE CONTACT NOT TO BUY FORD'S LUG NUTS AND SUGGESTED A DIFFERENT BRAND. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,797.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED LONG MCARTHUR FORD (3450 S 9TH ST, SALINA, KS 67401 (785) 823-2237) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would shudder and then stall with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle would drain fuel at a rapid pace and that a loud, humming sound was coming from the engine while driving. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who replaced the fuel pump however, despite the repair, the failure persisted. The contact had called a dealer in her area and was informed that they could not offer any assistance. The manufacturer had also been notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND THEN GO OFF. IF THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK SOMETIMES THE HEAT WOULD NOT WORK, THE ONLY WAY IT WOULD START WORKING WAS IF I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. AFTER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND OFF FOR ABOUT A WEEK I BROUGHT IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE COOLANT BYPASS VALVE AND HARDWARE. MY VEHICLE HAD ROUGHLY 47,000 MILES ON IT AND THEY TOLD ME THE ONLY REASON IT WAS COVERED WAS BECAUSE I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY.
SUDDEN LOSS OF STEERING RESULTING IN A COLLISION WITH A CURB. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO LOWER CONTROL ARM AND OTHER SUSPENSION PARTS AS A RESULT OF THE COLLISION. I DROVE CAR HOME 4 MILES, ALTHOUGH I SHOULDN'T HAVE. I EXPERIENCED MOMENTARY LOSS OF STEERING 5 MORE TIME IN THOSE 4 MILES. FORTUNATELY ALL WERE AT LOW SPEED. I WAS NOT INJURED. THE CAR HAS 68,XXX MILES AND IS UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. I HAD THE ESCAPE TOWED IN FOR REPAIRS. THE COLLISION DAMAGE WAS COVERED BY INSURANCE. THE SERVICE DEPT. AT FORD SAID THE FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH STEERING. THE CAR WAS HANDED DOWN TO ME BY PARENTS. I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE STEERING LOSS. THEY SAID WITH THE SAME VEHICLE THEY LOST STEERING MOMENTARILY ONE TIME BEFORE ALSO. THEY DROVE IT TO THE SAME SERVICE DEPT. MY PARENTS SAID SOMEONE FROM THE SERVICE DEPT REPAIRED IT, ALTHOUGH THEY WERE NOT GIVEN ANY PAPERWORK. I ASKED ABOUT THIS ON THE PHONE AND THE SAME SERVICE DEPT HAS NO RECORD OF THIS SERVICE. I DO NOT HAVE ANY DOCUMENTS TO UPLOAD OTHER THAN A REPAIR FORM FOR THE DAMAGE AS A RESULT. THE SERVICE DEPT IS HERTRICH'S FREDERICK FORD IN SEAFORD, DE
MY FORD ESCAPE 2015 WAS STALLING ONLY AT LOW SPEEDS DIAGNOSTICS AT THE FORD DEALER SHOWED NOTHING. TOOK TIME TO GET BACK TO THE DEALER FOR SECOND TIME--THE DEALER WAS NOT HONEST WITH US. I TOOK COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER ESCAPE OWNERS THAT WAS HAVING STALLING PROBLEMS. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE IN THAT CAR NOT KNOWING IF IT WAS GOING TO STALL AT HIGHER SPEEDS. LUCK WAS WITH US THE DEALER FOUND THE PROBLEM (1 BU5Z*9F972*B SENSOR FUEL INJECTOR) AT MY COST. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND A FORD TO ANYONE. ON MANY JEFT TURNS IT STOPPED ON CITY STREETS.
My car has never been able to pick up speed when I need to accelerate onto the highway. It takes much longer to gain speed than much older cars I've had like the 89 Silverado or 2001 Durango. I will Floor the gas to gain acceleration, and it's like I was still pushing the gas for 30 to 40 mph. It's like the car has to think for awhile. Then it will shoot up with a large jerk. The car has done this sine 30k miles in Jan. 2018. I've almost been hit several times merging onto the highway
Since I've had this car, (2017, 30k miles) everytime I put gas in my tank the car won't start. I've read similar issues on blogs. I have to rev my engine to get it to go. Anything over an 1/8 of a tank that I put in. If tank is really low and I put in under 1/8 it doesn't have this issue. Only when I put so much gas into the vehicle.
16V-643 RECALL. DEALERS TELL ME THEY CAN'T GET ME IN UNTIL MARCH. 1 DEALER WON'T DO WEEKENDS BECAUSE THEY DAY IT'S A 4 HOUR JOB AND ONLY OPEN 4 HOURS. THEY WANT TO DO IT THROUGH THE WEEK I CAN'T WITH WORK. ASKED ABOUT RENTAL SINCE PAPER SAYS THEY CAN PROVIDE ONE, THEY SAY ABSOLUTELY NOT. OTHER DEALER WILL DO RENTAL FOR 1 DAY BUT NOT UNTIL MARCH 10TH DUE TO NOT ENOUGH PARTS. I DRIVE WITH MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDBABY ON THE CAR. HOW CAN FORD SAY IT'S S SAFETY RECALL WHEN THEY ARE NOT WORRIED ABOUT SAFETY AND IT TAKES MONTHS TO GET IN.
CAR STARTS/STOPS INTERMITTENTLY. WILL CONTINUE TO RUN AT TIMES WITH THE ENGINE SWITCHED OFF AND KEY REMOVED. INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WILL COMPLETELY BLACKOUT AT ANYTIME WITHOUT NOTICE. STARTER WILL STAY ENGAGED AFTER STARTING. STATIONARY AND MOVING WITHOUT WARNING ON THE INTERSTATE, DOESN'T MATTER WHERE IT MAY BE IT HAS BECOME DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT DID NOT PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND ON, AND THE VEHICLE RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL OTHER TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (SPRADLEY BARR FORD & LINCOLN OF GREELEY, 4901 W 29TH ST, GREELEY, CO 80634), BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT AT 6 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED NOT TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND HAVE IT TOWED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE DEALER SENT MESSAGES TO THE FORD ENGINEERS AS TO WHAT STEPS NEEDED TO BE TAKEN TO RESOLVE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM THE ENGINEERS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,600.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SWITCH GEARS AND BEGAN MAKING A LOUD CLANKING NOISE AS IF METAL PARTS WERE BEING BANGED TOGETHER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BALDWIN FORD IN POPLAR BLUFF, MISSOURI WHERE IT WAS INITIALLY DIAGNOSED THAT THE MAIN POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTERWARDS, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW OR REBUILT TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.

THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT THE WHEEL LUG NUTS WERE SWOLLEN DUE TO EXPOSURE TO WATER AND THE LUG NUT WRENCH WAS TOO SMALL TO INSERT OVER THE LUG NUTS. THE NUTS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
I WILL BE DRIVING ALONG AND COME TO A STOP FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT STOP SIGN OR STOP TRAFFIC AND THE ENGINE WILL SHUT DOWN. ALSO IT WILL MAKE A HESITATE NOISE AND A CLUNK NOISE. RIGHT BEFORE IT STOPS. I HAVE TAKEN INTO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH ALL THE TEST THEY DID. SO TODAY 11/13/2017, I AM DROPPING MY CAR OFF AGAIN AT THE DEALER. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION.THIS HAS HAPPENED MAY TIMES SINCE OCT. 2017
WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE DOWN A MOUNTAIN ROAD, THE BOLT FOR THE VACUUM PUMP DRIVING THE POWER ASSISTED BRAKES SHEARED OFF (SIMILAR TO THE RECALLED ISSUE ON FORD EDGE AND EXPLORER VEHICLES). WHEN THIS HAPPENED IT FELT AS IF THERE WERE NO BRAKES AT ALL AND IT TOOK ALL OF MY FORCE (I'M A 300LB 6'4" MALE) APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDDLE TO STOP THE CAR. THE CAR WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE ON FORD VEHICLES WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE AND CAM DRIVEN VACUUM PUMP. HAD I BEEN DRIVING IN TRAFFIC OR AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, A VEHICLE COLLISION WITH INJURIES WOULD LIKELY HAVE OCCURRED AS THERE WAS NO WARNING THAT THE POWER ASSIST HAD STOPPED WORKING.
SWOLLEN AND CRACKED LUG NUTS. I HAVE HAD TO SPEND $176.00 REPLACING LUG NUTS FOR THIS VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN LESS THAN THREE YEARS. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE NEW AND HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 19 OF THE 24 LUG BOLTS ON THE VEHICLE DUE TO SWELLING/CRACKING. I DISCUSSED THIS WITH THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP ON OCTOBER 11, 2017 DURING MY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. THEY STATED THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE AND DID NOT SEEM TO CARE. HOWEVER, THEY CHARGED ME FOR NEW LUG NUTS. WHEN THE LUG NUTS SWELL, THEY CANNOT BE REMOVED, THUS MAKING THE TIRE TOOL THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE USELESS. THIS MAKES A VEHICLE WITH A FLAT TIRE UNMOVABLE WITHOUT BEING TOWED. THIS ALSO STRANDS MOTORISTS ON THE HIGHWAYS. DANGEROUS! I ALSO CONTACTED FORD NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND THEY RESPONDED WITH A NON CARING ATTITUDE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE CAUSED BY A FAULTY MANUFACTURING DEFECT. FORD MOTOR COMPANY, AS WELL AS YOUR AGENCY, IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. WHEN WILL SOMETHING BE DONE TO HOLD FORD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE DOLLARS CONSUMERS ARE HAVING TO SPEND DUE TO FORDS NEGLIGENCE?
EMISIONS CANISTER VALVE STICKS CAUSES ROUGH IDLE AND ENGINE HAS STALLED GOING DOWN THE ROAD. WAS ABLE TO ROLL TO A STOP IN A SAFE LOCATION. HAD TO TRY SEVERAL TIMES TO GET ENGINE STARTED.
WE WERE TRAVELING IN THE CAR AT APPROXIMATELY 80 MPH. THE CAR ENGINE BEGAN TO RACE STRONGLY WITHOUT A CORRESPONDING INCREASE IN SPEED. THIS HAPPENED TWICE AND THEN A RED OIL INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. IT SOUNDED ALSO LIKE A HEAD GASKET BLEW ON THE 1.6 LITER ECO-BOOST ENGINE AS THERE WAS A RATTLING NOISE LIKE TUMBLING PEBBLES IN A CAN OR DRUM. WE LOST POWER. BLUE SMOKE STREAMED OUT THE TAIL PIPE OF THE CAR. WE COASTED OVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY AND CAME TO A STOP. BY THE TIME THE CAR CAME TO A STOP SMOKE WAS COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE CAR. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND LOOKED TOWARD THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE. FLAMES WERE COMING FROM BELOW THE CAR JUST INSIDE THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. WE QUICKLY GOT EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING OUT OF THE CAR. THE FLAMES SPREAD VERY QUICKLY. THE FRONT HALF OF THE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES IN APPROXIMATELY 4 MINUTES AND THE WHOLE CAR WAS CONSUMED IN ABOUT 8 OR 9 MINUTES.
RECALL 16S30 SIDE DOOR LATCH MAY BREAK. FORD SENT OUT RECALL MAY 2017. I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE THEN TO GET THIS RECALL COMPLETED. I HAVE BEEN ON A WAITING LIST SINCE THEN AT A FORD DEALER. THE DEALER STATES THAT THEY CAN ONLY GET 1 OR 2 PARTS A MONTH AND I AM ON A WAITING LIST. I CALLED FORD ON THIS ISSUE AND WAS TOLD IN BROKEN ENGLISH THAT FORD HAS THE PARTS. I MENTION THAT THERE IS A WAITING LIST FOR THE PART. AGAIN WAS TOLD FORD HAS THE PARTS. I ASKED ANOTHER FORD DEALER ABOUT THE PART SHORTAGE AND THEY CONFIRMED IT ALSO. SO MY COMPLAINT IS WHY IS FORD TAKING SO LONG TO GET THE PARTS OUT?

TWICE IN TWO WEEKS, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST HAS FAILED SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AT LOW SPEED AND THE STEERING WENT OUT AS I WAS TURNING LEFT. AFTER STOPPING THE CAR, I TURNED IT OFF AND THEN ON. THE POWER STEERING RESUMED.
RIGHT DOOR REVIEW MIRROR GLASS SUDDENLY SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A CITY STREET. DID NOT PREVIOUSLY HIT OR OTHERWISE DAMAGE UNIT. LOOKED THIS UP ON INTERNET AND LEARNED THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED WITH OTHERS DRIVING THEIR FORD ESCAPE.
My car caught on fire While it was parked. I contacted ford ford had no knowledge of fires in the car. Come to find out. It's all over the internet that there are fires in the ecoboost fuel system. They are refusing to fix the car. I am disabled and I feel like they are taking advantage of me because of that. I had an extended warranty even at the same time which obviously meant nothing. This is a great injustice and I really really really really really need help. I have tried everywhere. Please help me.
WIPERS ARE NOT NORMAL - THEY ARE A DISTRACTION AND COULD POSSIBLY BE A ROAD HAZARD - HAS BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE WE PURCHASED - NEEDS A RECALL

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I PURCHASED MY FORD ESCAPE CERTIFIED USED FROM A DEALERSHIP BACK IN JULY 2016, IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 26,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND NO ACCIDENTS REPORTED. IN FEBRUARY 2017 THE VEHICLE STARTS HESITATING WHILE IN MOTION ON A COUNTRY STREET, ACTING AS THOUGH IT WAS ABOUT TO STALL OUT, NO WARNING INDICATORS CAME UP, ABLE TO GET TO OUR DRIVEWAY. WHEN IN OUR DRIVEWAY WE WERE ABLE TO BACK UP BUT WHEN PLACED IN DRIVE THE DASH GAVE A WARNING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN PARK AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD ONLY IN REVERSE. WE GOT IT TOWED BY OUR FORD WARRANTY TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE PAPERWORK LOOKS LIKE THEY DID AN OVERHAUL ON THE TRANSMISSION. NOW IT JULY OF 2017 (56,000 MILES ON IT) WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THE CAR BEGINS TO HESITATE AGAIN, I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF AN EXIT ON THE HIGHWAY BUT THEN MY CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS PRESSED NOTHING HAPPENED. NO WARNING INDICATORS AT ALL PRESENT ON DASH. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT BACK ON AND THE CAR WAS ABLE TO MOVE AN INCH. WHEN PLACED IN THE SPORT DRIVE THE CAR COULD NOT RECOGNIZE IT IN DRIVE AS EVIDENCED BY IT DID NOT EVEN LIGHT UP THE "S" ON THE DASH TO LET YOU KNOW IT WAS IN SPORT DRIVE. FORD AGAIN TOWED MY CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE IT IS BEING INSPECTED AS WE SPEAK. I HAVE HAD THE CAR A TOTAL OF 1 YEAR AND IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES. UNACCEPTABLE, THANK GOODNESS BOTH TIMES I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO SAFETY, I WOULD NOT WANT TO IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I WAS ON A MUCH LARGER HIGHWAY AND THIS OCCURRED TO THE VEHICLE. THESE ISSUES ARE MAKING ME FEEL VERY UNSAFE AND UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY WHEN MY TWO CHILDREN ARE IN THE CAR WITH ME.

THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY AN UNKNOWN INDEPENDENT GLASS SPECIALIST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
I PURCHASED A USED 2015 FORD ESCAPE ON MAY 10, 2017. I DROVE IT TO YELLOWSTONE OVER MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND TO TEST THE VEHICLE OUT. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT REALLY HARD AND AT 40 MPH IT SEEMED TO HESITATE WHAT GEAR TO SHIFT TO. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO SENT IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY RESET THE TRANSMISSION. THEY SAID THE CAR LEARNS A DRIVER'S DRIVING HABITS AND SINCE SOMEONE ELSE OWNED THE CAR IT WASN'T USED TO MY DRIVING HABITS. THE RESET ON THE TRANSMISSION HAS HELP A LITTLE, I STILL DO NOT LIKE THE WAY IT SHIFTS AT 40 MPH AND IT ALSO HESITATES TO GO AND THEN WHEN IT KICKS IN IT IS HARD TO SLOW DOWN. YESTERDAY JULY 5, 2017 I WAS DRIVING BACK TO WORK FROM LUNCH AND MY POWER STEERING FAILED. I HAD A WARNING COME ON AT THE SAME TIME I NOTICED THE POWER STEERING WAS GONE. I WAS GLAD I WAS ON A BACK ROAD OR IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AND ACCIDENT. I COULDN'T MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING REGARDING THE ISSUE YET. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR ALMOST 60 DAYS AND I HAVE HAD IT SERVICED TWICE. I DON'T FEEL I CAN TRUST THIS CAR. MY 10 YEAR OLD VAN WITH 170,000 MILES IS MORE RELIABLE.

THE VEHICLE STALLED AROUND 6 PM ONE EVENING, WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. WAS ABLE TO GET IT BACK IN DRIVEWAY. 6 HOURS LATER TRIED TO DRIVE IT AGAIN, AND IT STALLED, ON ACCELERATION. WAS ABLE TO GET IT OUT OF THE INTERSECTION AND COULD NOT START THE CAR AGAIN. HAD IT TOWED TO THE MECHANICS AND THEY SPENT THE DAY TRYING TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM AND COULD NOT.
ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY FAILURE AND LIMP MODE CAUSES UNSAFE BREAK DOWNS: WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH THE HIGHWAY MY CAR VERY RAPIDLY DECELERATED AND SEVERAL SERVICE LIGHTS TURNED ON. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF OF THE HIGHWAY AND RAN A VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT. THE REPORT INDICATED A FAILURE TO THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM (DEFINED AS AIRBAGS OR SEATBELT). THIS MEANS THAT IF THE SUDDEN DECELERATION WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS HAD CAUSED A COLLISION THE AIRBAGS MAY HAVE ALSO MALFUNCTIONED. IN ADDITION TO THE SAFETY SYSTEM MALFUNCTION A POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION, AND TC, IVD, RSC EVENT OF FAULT WAS REPORTED. I TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTION. THEY SAID IT WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. IT DOESN'T SEEM SAFE TO HAVE A CAR RAPIDLY DECELERATE ITSELF WHEN A PART FAILS ESPECIALLY IF THAT CAUSES THE COMPUTER TO REPORTS A SAFETY SYSTEM MALFUNCTION AS WELL.
AFTER DRIVING 3 HRS I STOPPED FOR GAS (15 MIN.) WHEN VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED THE INFO SCREEN SAID POWER STEERING FAILURE HAVE VEHICLE SERVICED AND THE STEERING WAS VERY HARD TO TURN AND DRIVE, DROVE ANOTHER 30 MIN. AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF FOR 4 HRS. WHEN RESTARTED AGAIN THE ERROR AND PROBLEM RESTORED ITSELF. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND THE COULDN'T DUPLICATE OR REPAIR THE PROBLEM SO THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE A YEAR APART UNDER THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE SAME RESULTS

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WE PURCHASED OUR 2015 FORD ESCAPE NEW, IT IS STILL UNDER THE MANUFACTURES WARRANTY AND IT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE FOOT (MOTION) ACTIVATED REAR LIFT GATE. ON 05/03/2017, I WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE AND THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. I WAS LOADING GROCERIES FROM THE SHOPPING CART TO THE VEHICLE. I PLACED SOME BAGS IN, TURNED TO GET MORE AND WHEN I TURNED BACK TO PUT THEM IN THE VEHICLE, I SLAMMED MY HEAD AGAINST THE LOWER EDGE OF THE LIFT GATE WHICH FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON WAS IN THE PROCESS OF COMING DOWN. I OBTAINED A LACERATION APPROXIMATELY TWO AND A QUARTER INCHES IN LENGTH AND A SEVERE HEADACHE SHORTLY AFTER THAT. ON 05/04/2017, I CONTACTED OUR SALES PERSON AND HE SAID HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THAT HAPPENING AND FROM WHAT HE KNEW, HE THOUGHT THE LIFT GATE WAS ONLY SUPPOSED TO GO UP WITH THE FOOT ACTIVATION AND NOT DOWN BUT HE IS GOING TO RESEARCH IT FURTHER. I HAVE A CALL INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ALSO AND AM WAITING FOR A CALL BACK. THINKING OVER THE TIME WE HAVE OWNED THE ESCAPE, I NOW RECALL THAT HAPPENING ONE OTHER TIME BUT CAUGHT IT PRIOR TO HITTING IT. I DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING ABOUT IT AT THAT TIME. I BELIEVE IT WAS THE MOTION SENSOR THAT CAUSED THE GATE TO COME DOWN AND NOT THE KEY AS THERE WAS NOTHING IN MY POCKET THE AT WOULD HAVE PUSHED THE BUTTON, PLUS IT HAS TO BE PUSHED TWICE TO ACTIVATE IT.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTOR ON A CITY STREET, THE PROBLEM WAS THAT IT WOULD NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AFTER JUST HITTING THE ACCELERATOR. TO BETTER DESCRIBE THIS, IT WAS RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND TRAFFIC WAS MOVING VERY SLOW SO I WOULD HAVE TO HIT THE BREAKS AFTER JUST HITTING THE BREAKS TO MOVE FORWARD. THIS RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE I REAR ENDED THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME. AFTER MY VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED I HAD TO RETURN IT TO THE SHOP BECAUSE THERE AN UNKNOWN MECHANICAL ISSUE, AT THAT TIME I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL WITH THE ACCELERATOR. MY BEST ASSESSMENT IS THAT THIS MAY HAVE BEEN A CAUSE FOR THE ACCIDENT. WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT ACTIVE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS BUT I WOULD LIKE IT INVESTIGATED AT THIS TIME, AS THIS ACCIDENT IS NOW AFFECTING MY DRIVERS INSURANCE.
DOOR HANDLES AND LOCKS RECALL. THEY SENT US A RECALL NOTICE ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO. WE CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND THEY SAID IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 2 WEEKS TO GET THE PART AND THEY WOULD PUT US ON THEIR WAIT LIST AND CALL US. THEY HAVE NOT CALLED US AND WE HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY KEEP PUTTING US OFF WITH THE EXCUSE THAT THERE WERE SO MANY CALLS IT WAS TAKING LONGER THEN THEY EXPECTED. THEY HAD TOLD US THAT THEY PUT US AT THE TOP OF THE LIST BECAUSE WE WERE AMONG THE FIRST TO CALL. WE WONDER IF THERE IS THAT LONG OF A LIST OR ARE THEY BLOWING US OFF. MEANWHILE THERE IS A WITHIN INDUSTRY NOTE FOR A PROBLEM WITH THAT MODEL CAR WITH THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS NOT BEING SEATED CORRECTLY IN THE BODY OF THE CAR (NO RECALL NOTICE YET) AS WELL AS THE PROBLEM WITH THE DOOR HANDLES. WE GOT THE RECALL NOTICE THE BEGINNING OF MAY AND THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST AND THE PROBLEM HAS STILL NOT BEEN RESOLVED.
WHILE TRAVELING TO KANSAS CITY EARLY MORNING 4.24.17 AT 6AM I TOOK EXIT 123B TO MERGE ONTO I35 SOUTH FROM I80. WHEN MERGING ONTO I35S I ENCOUNTERED A LARGE "POT HOLE" OR WHAT I WOULD CALL A MAN HOLE THAT BLEW BOTH MY DRIVERS SIDE TIRES AND DID SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO MY SUSPENSION. I HAD A WDM POLICE OFFICER REVIEW THE LARGE HOLE AND IDENTIFIED IT AS NEEDING REPAIR. A FEW HOLES LATER THE DOT WAS OUT TO THE AREA REPAIRING. I WOULD LIKE SOMEONE TO CONTACT ME ABOUT THE DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE.

THE BRAKE FLUID CONTAINER INSIDE THE ENGINE VIBRATED LOOSE AND THE SCREWS CAME ALL THE WAY OUT AND LEFT THE CONTAINER OF BRAKE FLUID HANGING INSIDE THE ENGINE. THIS COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS PROBLEM. A ROAD ASSISTANCE COMPANY HELPING ME START MY CAR AGAIN AFTER THE ELECTRICAL PANEL MALFUNCTIONED OPENED THE HOOD TO FIND THIS PROBLEM. THE SCREWS ARE COMPLETELY GONE, AND I WILL HAVE TO HAVE THIS TAKEN IN TO FORD TO GET REPLACEMENT SCREWS TO FIX THIS.
IT KEEPS SHOWING THAT THE SUV IS OVERHEATING WITH A WARNING. IT WILL PASS AFTER A FEW MINUTES. IT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 6 TIMES. WR HAVE LESS THEN 35,000 MILES ON THE CAR
FAULTY ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING OUR USUAL 25 MILE COMMUTE AT AN AVERAGE 50 MPH. AT 33,000 MILES THIS IS AN UNEXPECTED REPAIR THAT COST THIS CONSUMER $2,200. MORE OVER THERE WAS NO WARNING OR MECHANICAL WEAR, THE STEERING WENT OUT AND A GRINDING SOUND WAS EMITTING FROM THE FRONT WHILE THE STEERING WAS LOCKING OR BINDING AND OVER COMPENSATING ON TURNS.
SQUIRRELS GOT INTO THE ELECTRICAL WIRING CAUSING THE PARK ASSIST, HOOD LATCH WARNING, FRONT LIGHTS, FRONT, LEFT, RIGHT, AND REAR PROXIMITY WARNING SENSORS TO NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY NEXT TO MY TRUCK WHICH DID NOT RECEIVE ANY DAMAGE. I HAVE BECOME AWARE OF THREE OTHER INCIDENTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM. RESEARCH INDICATES FORD HAS SWITCH TO A SUCROSE BASED INSULATION WHICH ATTRACTS RODENTS. I HAVE ALSO SEEN A ADVERTISEMENT FOR DUCT TAPE WITH RODENT REPELLENT TO STICK OVER THE INSULATION.
