TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO OPERATE. AFTER REMOVING THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION, THE VEHICLE OPERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (COGGIN FORD IN JACKSONVILLE, 9650 ATLANTIC BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32225) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V436000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN DECEMBER OF 2014, BUT THE RECALL WAS FOR 2015. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,477.
WE HAD MICHELIN TIRES ON OUR VEHICLE WHEN WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW. THE TIRES WERE NEVER RIGHT. WE KEPT ASKING THEM AT THE FORD DEALER TO CHECK THEM BUT THEY SAID THEY WERE FINE. AT 32,000 MILES, THEY SAID WE NEEDED TIRES. I WAS UNDER THE UNDERSTANDING THAT 70,000 MILES WERE ON THESE TIRES. WE JUST GOT NEW TIRES FROM WALMART AND THEY WERE SAME SIZE BUT WE PUT CONTINENTAL AND IT RIDES SO MUCH BETTER. WONDERING IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THESE TIRES OR IF WE CAN GET A REFUND ON THESE TIRES. THEY ARE 235/50R18----THE TIRE ALSO SAYS E2 0203598 0213542 S2WR2. WE JUST WENT TODAY AND GOT 4 NEW TIRES AND WE HAVE 40,600 MILES ON THE ESCAPE. BUT THE TIRES WERE NEVER RIGHT. THANK YOU!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING AT 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER 10 SECONDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL FUSE NUMBER 60 NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
WHILE TURNING LEFT FROM A STOP SIGN, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO VEER INTO THE LANE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE DRIVER YANKED THE STEERING WHEEL HARD TO THE RIGHT AND THE VEHICLE RETURNED TO THE CORRECT LANE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN ON 7/31/15 WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 8/8/15 AND THE TECH INDICATED THERE WERE NO CODES; HOWEVER THE VEHICLE HAD AN ACTIVE RECALL OUT, WHICH THEY FIXED. IT HAPPENED ON THREE ADDITIONAL OCCASIONS BETWEEN 8/8/15 AND 8/21/15. IT SHOULD BE NOTED, THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD WHEN THERE WAS AN ACTIVE RECALL.
I HAVE BEEN TO FORD 3 TIMES TRYING TO GET HELP WITH AN ABSURD AMOUNT OF ROAD NOISE COMING FROM MY 2015 ESCAPE. THIS HAS BECOME A RECENT ISSUE TO THE POINT WHERE THE BACK SEAT PASSENGER CANNOT MAKE OUT WHAT THE DRIVER OR FRONT SEAT PASSENGER ARE SAYING. AFTER MY 3 VISITS, FORD HAS DISMISSED THIS PROBLEM WITH LITTLE INTEREST. WHEN DRIVING YOU CAN FEEL AIR FROM THE ROAD AS YOU ARE IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS I AM WORRIED IF DEBRIS WERE TO HIT MY CAR OR IF I WERE TO GET IN AN ACCIDENT THERE COULD BE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO MYSELF OR MY PASSENGERS. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH MY TRUNKS LIFT GATE. IT FAILS TO LATCH REQUIRING ME TO EITHER DRIVE WITH IT UNLATCHED OR FIDDLE WITH IT UNTIL IT CLOSES. I HAVE ALSO STRUGGLED WITH THE DOORS LATCHING CLOSED WHICH HAVE RESULTED IN MY PASSENGERS OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOORS SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL THE SENSOR SAYS THEY ARE CLOSED. FOR A 2015 THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AND I AM ASHAMED IN MYSELF FOR LEASING A CAR FROM SUCH A CARELESS COMPANY WHO LACKS CONCERN FOR ITS CONSUMERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. AFTER MERGING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND KNOCKED THE CONTACT UNCONSCIOUS. AFTER AWAKING, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A BARRIER. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V406000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE BRAKING, THE STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AND THE VEHICLE VEERED INTO THE OTHER LANE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL MECHANICS, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE, ALTHOUGH THE FAILURE OCCURRED DAILY. THE TIRES WERE ALSO CHECKED AND WERE VERIFIED AS SAFE AND IN GOOD CONDITION. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
MY FORD ESCAPE 2015 WOULDN'T SHUT OFF AFTER TURNING. I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT CAR WAS ON AFTER I HAD PARK,WITHOUT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION. I DROVE HOME WHEN I TRIED TO SHUT THE ENGINE; IT DIDN'T. THE CAR WAS TOW TO THE NEAREST FORD. THE MOTOR WAS STILL RUNNING WHEN IT WAS BEING TOW. FORD COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. MINE YOU I STILL HAVEN'T MADE MY FIRST PAYMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK WAS APPLIED, HOWEVER, WHEN THE DRIVER GRABBED THE DOOR HANDLE, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
ENGINE HAS LONG CRANK BEFORE STARTUP.
A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER BUYING THE CAR, IT STARTED STALLING AFTER DRIVING IT HOME FROM WORK.TOOK TO DEALER PUT ON THE COMPUTER, NOTHING SHOWED UP AS BEING WRONG? THEY TOLD ME TO PUT SEAFOAM GAS TREATMENT IN DIDN'T WORK. THE STALLING KEPT HAPPENING AFTER DRIVING A LONG DISTANCE. AFTER MANY TIMES TO THE DEALER (1TIME THEY KEPT IT 2 WEEKS) THEY STILL COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM? DEALER DECIDED TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASY THE ONLY THING THAT CONTROLS THE IDLE. IT STILL CONTINUED TO STALL ON AND OFF AFTER A LONG RIDE. THEN IN FEB. 2016 IT STALLED ON I-75 SEVERAL TIMES THIS TIME NOT EVEN 10 MILES FROM WORK. WE WERE GOING SLOW DUE TO ICY ROADS HAVING TO PUT IN NEUTRAL JUST TO KEEP FROM STALLING. BACK TO DEALER, NOTHING SHOWED UP ON COMPUTER. MY WIFE THEN CALLED DEALER CONCERNED THAT IT COULD STALL WHILE DRIVING 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY THE DEALER DECIDED TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASY AGAIN. STUMPED ON HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM GOT THE CAR BACK SATURDAY. WENT TO WORK ON MONDAY AFTER WORK STOPPED TO GET GAS SHUT OFF RESTARTED CAR AND IT STALLED?? THERE SEEMS TO BE NO SPECIFIC REASON OR CONDITION THAT IT KEEPS STALLING. IT STALLS WHILE IN GEAR OR PARK? THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND COULD CAUSE BODILY HARM. DO I HAVE A LEMON?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND BECAME STUCK IN THE DRIVE GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DORIAN FORD IN CHARTER TWP OF CLINTON, MICHIGAN WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE FRACTURED SHELL CASING AND THE FRACTURED SUPPORT BAR, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
WHEN VEHICLE IS PLACED IN MOTION, THE REAR DOORS LOCK. ONCE LOCKED, THE PERSONS IN THE REAR SEATS CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE ON THEIR OWN. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CHILD LOCKS. THE REAR PASSENGERS CAN ONLY EXIT IF THE DOORS ARE UNLOCKED FROM THE FRONT SEAT AREA OR IF A PERSON WITH THE KEY FOB PLACES A HAND ON THE OUTSIDE FRONT HANDLES. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE. FOR EXAMPLE , IF THE FRONT PASSENGERS ARE INCAPACITATED AND THE VEHICLE IS ON FIRE OR SINKING IN WATER, THE REAR PASSENGERS ARE TRAPPED WITH NO WAY TO ESCAPE. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY MUST ADDRESS BEFORE PEOPLE ARE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED.
THIS ISN'T PERTAINING TO MY VEHICLE, BUT THIS IS RATHER A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE CURRENT BRAKE LIGHT STYLING TRENDS IN MOST NEWER VEHICLES (NOT JUST THE FORD ESCAPE, BUT I'VE ALSO SEEN IT IN OTHER MAKE/MODEL VEHICLES AS WELL). THE ISSUE IS THE BRAKE LIGHTS SHOULD BE NOTICEABLE AND DISTINGUISHABLE WHEN THE BRAKES ARE ENGAGED, BUT IN THE CASE OF THE FORD ESCAPE (AND SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES), THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE A SIMPLE STRIP OF WHAT I PRESUME ARE LED LIGHTS THAT ARE VERY DIM AND HARD TO TELL THAT THEY ARE LIT (EXCEPT MAYBE AT NIGHT), ESPECIALLY WHEN THE BODY VEHICLE IS SIMILARLY RED IN COLOR. I ALMOST HIT ONE THE FORD ESCAPE BECAUSE I COULD NOT TELL (UNTIL I WAS UP CLOSE AND WAS THEN ABLE TO SEE THAT THE THIN BAND OF BARELY LIT LIGHTS WERE ACTUALLY LIT), AND ONLY REALIZED THEY WERE BRAKING DUE TO THE RELATIVE SPEEDS OF NEARBY VEHICLES. THESE NEW "STYLES" FOR THE BRAKE LIGHTS SHOULD BE LOOKED AT AS I BELIEVE THEY POSE A SAFETY HAZARD RATHER THAN BEING A SAFETY FEATURE. *TR
STARTED CAR AND THE ALARM WENT OFF ON THE DASH SAYING THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WAS AJAR. WE OPENED THE DOOR AND LOOKED AT THE DOOR TO MAKE SURE NO ONE HAD HIT THE CAR. NO DAMAGE COULD BE FOUND. SHUT CAR OFF AND RESTARTED. ALARM CONTINUED WITH DASH READING FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AJAR. DROVE CAR HOME WITH CONSTANT ALARM AND OVER HEAD LIGHT ON. LET CAR SIT IN DRIVEWAY FOR HOURS TO SEE IF SOMETHING WOULD RESET. IT DID NOT WORK. UNPLUGGED BATTERY AND LET CAR SIT ANOTHER 30 MINUTES. DID NOT RESET. TOMORROW THE CAR GOES BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE NEW 2015 FORD ESCAPE TITANIUM 4 WHEEL DRIVE 1.6 ONLY 1069 MILES AND I AM HAVING LEMON ISSUES! SHOULD HAVE KEPT MY 2013 ESCAPE WITH THE BIGGER MOTOR, DIDN'T HAVE DUMB PROBLEMS LIKE THIS ONE. FORD STEP UP PLEASE AND MAKE THIS RIGHT!! *TR
THE ADDED REMOTE START WORKS. HOWEVER, WHEN YOU OPEN ANY DOOR TO GET IN THE ESCAPE...THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. I WOULD THINK THAT THIS WOULD INCREASE THE WEAR AND TEAR ON THE ENGINE, STARTER, AND THE IGNITION DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOUR HAVING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AGAIN.
WARNING ON SCREEN. TAKE CAR TO DEALER IMMEDIATELY. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND AFTER SITTING THERE FOR OVER 3 HOURS I WAS TOLD THE ISSUE WAS THE COOLING TEMPERATURE SENSOR. WHEN THEY CAME TO TELL ME THE CAR WAS FINISHED I WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING BUT UNPLUG THE SENSOR AND WAIT 5 MINUTES THE RECONNECT TO CLEAR THE CODE. SINCE THEN THE CAR TAKES A LONG TIME TO HEAT UP FOR THE HEATER. IT WILL BLOW COLD AIR. I AM DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS CAR. I SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO WAIT OVER 3 HOURS AT THE DEALER EITHER FOR JUST UNPLUGGING THE SENSOR. NOT A GOOD WAY TO KEEP CUSTOMERS. *TR
WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND HEARD A NOISE(I DESCRIBED THE NOISE LIKE A ROCK HITTING THE GLASS) LOOKED AT MY WINDSHIELD AND DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. WENT HOME AND PARKED MY CAR IN THE GARAGE. GOT IN THE CAR A COUPLE DAYS LATER AND GOT IN THE CAR, STARTED THE CAR AND MY SUNROOF WENT BACK ABOUT AN INCH AND SHATTERED GLASS FEEL INTO THE CAR. CHECKED ON TOP OF CAR AND THE ROOF POPPED UPWARD AND SHATTERED. DID RESEARCH AND THE 2014 ESCAPE HAD THE SAME ISSUES.FORS REFUSED TO REPLACE THE SUNROOF BECAUSE THEIR ENGINEERS DECIDED FROM MY PHOTOS THAT IT WAS PROBABLY CAUSED BY DERBIE FROM THE ROAD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF AN AMBULANCE, THE VEHICLE DROVE OVER A PATCH OF BLACK ICE. THE VEHICLE SLID TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TRAVELED DOWN A TEN FOOT EMBANKMENT. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A WALL AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUFFERED A MILD CONCUSSION AND LACERATIONS ON BOTH SIDES OF HIS EARS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION ON THE SCENE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,361.
PURCHASED VEHICLE 1/30/2015 AND DROVE OFF LOT WITH 3 MILES ON IT. LESS THAN A WEEK LATER VEHICLE STARTED STALLING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND HESITATING UPON ACCELERATION. VEHICLE WAS IN FORD REPAIR SHOP FOR 12 DAYS WITH 1200 WORTH OF PARTS REPLACED ON TRANSMISSION. PICKED UP VEHICLE WITH 810 MILES ON IT AND LESS THAN A WEEK AND 150 MILES LATER THE VEHICLE IS AGAIN STALLING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS UPON ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE! *TR
BRAND NEW 2015 FORD ESCAPE DROVE FINE UNTIL 800 + MILES THEN... ACCELERATOR HESITATION OF 2-3 SECONDS OR MORE OCCURS AFTER INITIAL OR FIRST USE OF ACCELERATOR. HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS WARM OR COLD. UNSAFE TO PULL OUT OF DRIVEWAYS, MAKE LANE CHANGES SAFELY ETC IF ANY CARS WITHIN VIEW OR NEARBY. COMPLETELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN TRAFFIC. FIRST VISIT FOR REPAIR: FORD DEALER AND FORD MANUFACTURER EXPLAIN HESITATION BUT DO NOT DENY IT IS OCCURRING. SERVICE DRIVE AND MANUFACTURER EXPLANATION FOR HESITATION IS: "ENGINE IS GEARING DOWN" "THE TURBO IS SPOOLING UP" "OPERATES AS EXPECTED" NO REPAIRS NEEDED OR MADE. *TR
The contact owned a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle jerked while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure persisted and the contact had repeatedly taken the vehicle back to the dealer and received the same information. The contact stated the transmission eventually failed and the transmission was replaced by an independent mechanic. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
MY WIFE HAD A FLAT TIRE ON THIS BRAND NEW CAR AFTER ONLY ABOUT 1,600 MILES. THE TIRES ON THIS NEW CAR ARE THE CONTINENTAL CONTIPROCONTACT 235/45 R19 95H. THERE APPEARED TO BE A SMALL GASH/SLIT TOWARD THE RIM OF THE RIGHT REAR TIRE -- ON THE SIDE OF THE TIRE. MY WIFE DOES NOT RECALL DRIVING OVER ANY ROAD HAZARD THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED SUCH A GASH/SLIT. THERE WAS ALSO AIR SEEPING FROM THE TIRE WHERE IT MEETS THE RIM WHEN I TOOK IT INTO OUR FORD DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT WHERE THIS WAS LEAKING. DOESN'T SEEM TO ME THAT WE NECESSARILY DID ANYTHING TO CONTRIBUTE TO THIS TIRE GOING FLAT AND I JUST WANTED TO REPORT IT SINCE THIS HAPPENED ONLY AFTER 1,600 MILES OF DRIVING ON THIS NEW CAR. VEHICLE EXHIBITS SEVERE INTERMITTENT BRAKE SQUEAL. THREE TIMES IN FOR SERVICE. 1ST TIME, NO PROBLEM FOUND. SECOND TIME, WITH VIDEO EVIDENCE OF SQUEAL, TECH DIAGNOSED LEFT REAR BRAKE. DEGLAZED AND AND CLEANED. 3RD TIME, PADS CHANGED AND ROTORS MACHINED. NO CHANGE. SQUEAL RETURNED IN TWO DAYS. ADVISED BY FORD THIS IS NORMAL, BUT I COULD TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR SERVICE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW ABOUT A YEAR AGO. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY I NOTICED AN INTERMITTENT HESITATION WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AFTER SLOWING OR FROM A FULL STOP. THE HESITATION VARIES FROM ABOUT TWO SECONDS OR LONGER. WHEN THE CAR DOES ACCELERATE IT SURGES FORWARD AT A FAST RATE OF SPEED. WHILE TRYING TO TURN LEFT AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON A TWO LANE ROAD WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITH SUFFICIENT TIME MY CAR HESITATED UPON ACCELERATING CAUSING THE ONCOMING CAR TO BRAKE HARD IN ORDER TO AVOID HITTING ME. THIS CAR ALSO HESITATES AFTER PULLING OFF A ROAD INTO A PARKING LOT, IE., STORE, SCHOOL, AND, AT RANDOM, WILL HESITATE UPON ACCELERATING FOR A SEVERAL SECOND DELAY ONLY TO SURGE IN SPEED MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO INITIALLY CONTROL. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DEALER SIX TIMES AND ONCE TO ANOTHER FORD DEALER. ALL SAY THE BECAUSE THERE IS NO FAULT CODE THEY CANNOT FIX IT. I CALLED FORD ENG. AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. THE LAST TIME I HAD THIS CAR TO THE DEALER THE INVOICE STATED, "NO CODES" AND ROAD TESTED BUT THE MILEAGE IN WAS THE SAME AS THE MILEAGE OUT INDICATION THAT NOTHING WAS DONE. IT HAS BECOME OBVIOUS THAT FORD DEALER I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM IS NOW PATRONIZING ME. THEREFORE IT HAS BECOME A WASTE OF TIME TO KEEP BRINGING THIS CAR BACK. I HAVE FOUND A MULTITUDE OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT FORD VEHICLES ON THE INTERNET. MANY WERE BEING PUT OFF WITH THE SAME EXCUSE, "NO CODE." I AM A FORD RETIREE AND HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED THAT BOTH A FORD DEALERSHIP AND FORD ITSELF HAVE PATRONIZE ME TO THE POINT I BELIEVE I AM BEING PLAYED BECAUSE OF MY SENIOR AGE. I BELIEVE THIS "HESITATION" DEFECT TO BE VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN RESULT IN SEVERE INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. THANK YOU. *TR
THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL WHEN BACKING SQUEALS EVERY TIJME AND EVERY DAY SSINCE WE HAD THE CAR. HERE IT IS JULY ALMOST AUG. HAD BROUGHT THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER ONCE IN MARCH AND AGAIN FOR THE SAME THING LAST WEEK FRIDAY. THEY TELL ME AND MY WIFE THAT THEY CAN NOT GET IT TO DO IT AT THE DEALER. MY WIFE AND I WAS SITTING IN MY OTHER ESCAPE GETTING READY TO LEAVE WHEN THEY BACKED IT UP AND BOTH MY WIFE AND I HEARD IT FROM MY CAR AND THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM? BOLD LIE. THEY SAY THE SQUEAL IS ALSO NORMAL THAT IS ANOTHER BOLD LIE. THEY JUST DO NOT WANT TO REPLACE THE PADS ON T HE CAR A $44 DOLLAR ITEM TO SATISFY A CUSTOMER FROM HEARING THAT HORIDOUS NOISE EVERYDAY. IF IT IS NORMAL THEN WHY MY 2014 ESCAPE DOES NOT DO IT?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR WHEEL WELLS WERE RUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. The back up camera is distorted, upside down, or shows not available. I believe this year of Ford escape should be included in the current recall.
Transmission is failing after being rebuilt. Has only 50,000 miles. It stalls if braking hard. Shifts hard and shudders. Has been serviced and checked by a mechanic.
Had my tires rotated and the mechanic had a very hard time getting the lug nuts off. He said this the worst design that are on Ford’s. If you get a flat tire on the side of the road trying to change your tire it would be very dangerous. He said why Ford hasn’t had a callback is ridiculous.
