VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION GOING SPEED LIMIT WHEN IT STARTED TO SHUT DOWN. IT BECAME MORE FREQUENT AND LASTED LONGER TO START AND TO STAY RUNNING. WHEN SHUT DOWN FOR 10 MINUTES IT WOULD TRAVEL ABOUT 20 MILES BEFORE HAVING ISSUES ONCE AGAIN. FOUND OUT WHEN THE FUEL HAS UNDER A HALF A TANK THE PROBLEM BECOMES MORE FREQUENT.

2 WEEKS AFTER I PURCHASED MY 2016 FORD ESCAPE, THE RADIO STARTED TO TURN OFF AND ON, THEN RANDOMLY STARTED CHANGING STATIONS ON ITS OWN. ALSO, WHEN THE BLUETOOTH IS IN USE, AFTER ENDING A CALL THE SCREEN WOULD FREEZE. I WOULD THEN NEED TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND TAKE THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION TO SORT OF RESET BUT NOW THAT DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE BC THE SCREEN IS BLACK AND THE RADIO ONLY WORKS. THE CAMERAS DO NOT WORK EITHER.
I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THE REAR BRAKE ROTORS ON MY ESCAPE ARE SEVERELY CORRODED AND NEED REPLACEMENT. THE CORROSION HAS ALSO DAMAGED THE PADS. THIS HAS LEAD TO PULSATIONS AND UNEVEN BRAKING. MILEAGE APPROXIMATELY 34,000 MILES WHEN I WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM THOUGH BRAKING PERFORMANCE SUFFERED BEFORE THAT. FORD HAS TOLD ME THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SALTY CONDITIONS IN PENNSYLVANIA AND DO NOT COVER CORROSION. THIS UNUSUAL WEAR HAS CREATED UNSAFE BRAKING CONDITIONS AND BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE WHICH WERE NOT EXPECTED SO EARLY IN THE VEHICLE LIFE.
CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING. IS VERY DIFFICULT TO START BACK UP.
I HAD A FLAT TIRE . TRIED TO REMOVE LUGNUTS AND MY WRENCH WOULD NOT FIT LUGNUTS AND THE LUGNUTS I DID GET TO FIT WOULD NOT COME LOOSE. WE CALLED FORD ROADSIDE. ASSISTANCE. TECH EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING TRYING TO USE HIS POWER DRIVER TO REMOVE THEM. HE REPORTED THAT LUGNUTS WERE STRIPED DUE TO ALUMINUM COATIING AND THAT CAUSED THE OVER TIGHTENING. I WAS STRANDED FOR 2 HOURS. WOULD NOT COME OFF DUE TO ALUMINUM COATING PLACED OVER STEEL THIS ENABLING WRENCH TO FIT. THE WEAK METAL ALUMINUM SWELLED AND WHEN MY TIRES WERE ROTATED OVER TIGHTENING OCCURED. . THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE THE ALUMINUM IS A WEAK METAL AND IT GIVES. A MAJOR ENGINEERING FLAW. OVER TIGHTENING THESE NUTS WILL CAUSE THE LUGNUTS TO BREAK OFF AND WHEEL COULD COME OFF AND CAUSE FATAL ACCIDENTS. I WAS ON A CITY STREET. I AM ENCOURAGING NHTSA TO CALL A RECALL NOT FOR MY BENEFIT BUT FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL WHO DRIVE THESE VEHICLES. LIVES ARE SOMETIMES LOST BECAUSE GOOD PEOPLE DO NOTHING. IS THERE A CHANCE A TIRE CAN COME OFF DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING AT 65 MPH AND OVERBECAUSE OF LUGNUTS BEING OVERTIGHTENED? IF THE ANSWER IS YES TO THIS QUESTION THEN THE RIGHT THING TO DO IS TO ISSUE A RECALL TO FORD. IT'S CALLED ACCOUNTABILITY. THANK YOU

ALARM GOES OFF CONSTANTLY FOR UNKNOWN REASONS
WHILE TAKING OFF FROM 0 - 20 MPH VEHICLES HESITATES WHILE ACCELERATING CAUSING VEHICLE TO ALMOST STALL IN TRAFFIC. HAVE TO PUMP GAS PEDAL REPEATEDLY TO TRY TO GET CAR MOVING. REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP FOUR TIMES WITH NO REPAIR GIVEN FOR THE PROBLEM OF CAR STALLING WHILE TAKING OFF. HAS DONE THIS SINCE PURCHASED IN 2016 AND CONTINUES UNTIL TODAY. BROUGHT IN FOUR TIMES TO DEALERSHIP CAZENAVE'S MOTOR CO.BUT VEHICLE CONTINUES TO STALL. CONCERNED OF BEING HIT WHILE STALLED IN FAST MOVING TRAFFIC OR WHILE APPROACHING ENTRANCES AND EXITS OR WHILE MAKING TURNS. CONCERNED OF BAD ACCIDENT DUE TO VEHICLE STALLING IN TRAFFIC.
WHEN DRIVING ON EXPRESSWAY AT NEARLY 70 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY TURNED TO THE RIGHT AND WAS VERY HARD TO TURN TO THE LEFT. COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.

WHEN DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT NEARLY 70 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY TURNED TO THE RIGHT AND WAS VERY HARD TO TURNBACK TO THE LEFT. COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
WHILE DRIVING OR ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE CAR WILL STALL AND/OR THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ON GOING SINCE MARCH 2018, WHEN IT WAS FIRST NOTICED. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON APR 2018 AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. AFTER 3 VISITS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE FUEL SENSOR. ON MAY 26, 2018, THE CAR FAILED AGAIN. THE "SERVICE ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON THIS TIME WHEREAS, PREVIOUSLY IT DID NOT. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP. THE THROTTLE VALVE WAS REPLACED PER THE CODE. HOWEVER, THE CAR CONTINUED TO STALL AND FAILED AGAIN. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT DI COME ON - BUT SINCE HAS "RESET" BECAUSE IT IS NOW GONE. MY CONCERN OVER THE STALLING IS THAT IT HAPPENS AT ANY TIME AND AT ANY SPEED. THE REACTION IS AS IF THE CAR IS RUNNING OUT OF GAS WHERE IT SPITS AND SPUTTERS. IF A SEMI IS BEHIND ME AT 65-70 MPH, THEY WILL RAM INTO ME BECAUSE THE DECREASE IN SPEED WOULD NOT GIVE THEM TIME TO REACT. SO DANGEROUS. SINCE APRIL 2018, THE CAR HAS BEEN IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM - 4 TIMES AND NEEDS TO GO BACK AGAIN. BOTTOM LINE - NO ONE KNOWS WHAT TO DO TO CORRECT.
AFTER FUELING CAR STALLS AND DIES.
THE CAR HAS ONLY 36,400 MILES AND THE STEERING SENSOR IS COMING ON AND WHEN DOSE IT MAKES THE CAR HARDER TO STEER. YOU HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR TO RESET THE POWER STEERING SENSOR. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN ABOUT EVERY DAY NOW.
TRANSMISSION FAULT ERROR MESSAGE WENT ON TWICE OVER THE COURSE OF 10 DAYS. THEN WE WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE SAME MESSAGE KEPT GOING OFF WITH AN ALARM. IT WOULDN'T GO OFF AND THE CAR WAS RUNNING ROUGH. WE BROUGHT THE CAR IN TO OUR FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION MODULE WAS BAD AND THE COST @1K. THE CAR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND THIS SEEMS TO US TO BE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. WE HAVE HAD 5 OTHER FORD VEHICLES AND DROVE THEM ALL TO 200K MILES WITHOUT HAVING TO REPLACE THIS TRANSMISSION MODULE. WE BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. HAS TO BE A DEFECTIVE PART.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH OR MORE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL WHISTLING NOISE EMERGING FROM THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS A 3/8 GAP BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND PLASTIC TRIM. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (CROSSROADS FORD OF INDIAN TRAIL, 88 DALE JARRETT BLVD, INDIAN TRAIL, NC 28079) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: PAF-14252656-R9Y2C0. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12,000.
THE BACK WINDSHIELD ON MY 2016 FORD ESCAPE SHATTERED FOR THE SECOND TIME WITHIN THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF FOR NO APPARENT REASON. IN BOTH INSTANCES, THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED WHILE I WAS WARMING UP THE CAR ONE MORNING AT MY RESIDENCE WITH THE BACK DEFROSTER ON. THE SECOND OCCURRENCE HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT THIS WEEK, WHICH I DID NOT DISCOVER UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY UPON APPROACHING THE VEHICLE. THE BACK DEFROSTER WAS USED WHILE WARMING UP THE VEHICLE THAT MORNING. THE CAUSE OF THIS IS UNKNOWN, HOWEVER, I SUSPECT IT MAY SOMEHOW BE RELATED EITHER WITH USE OF THE BACK DEFROSTER COMBINED WITH THE COLD WEATHER, OR PERHAPS SOMETHING STRUCTURALLY. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS OCCUR WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE I'VE DRIVEN BEFORE AND FOR IT TO HAPPEN TWICE LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT THERE IS SOME SORT OF DEFECT WITH THE VEHICLE, AS I DO NOT BELIEVE IT WAS HIT WITH A FOREIGN OBJECT, ESPECIALLY TWO TIMES. BESIDES THE COST AND INCONVENIENCE, I AM ALSO CONCERNED WITH A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE INVOLVING THE BACK WINDSHIELD.
LEAKS IN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD,LETTING LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER INTO THE VEHICLE OVER THE DASHBOARD AND ONTO THE TO FRONT DOORS CAUSING STAINS TO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE NOTE RETURTNED THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP THREE TIME BEFORE THE PROBLE WAS FIXED.
I'M HEARING A NOISE IN THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK EVERY TIME I HIT A BUMP WHEN THE STEERING ALL THE WAY TO LOCK RIGHT OR LEFT
WHILE PARKED, THE RADIO RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED. RADIO STATION BUTTONS HAVE TO BE PRESSED NUMEROUS TIME TO CHANGE THE STATION, WHETHER PARKED OR IN MOTION.
WATER LEAK - WHEN DRIVING IN ANY DEGREE OF RAIN, WATER LEAKS INTO THE CEILING SOMEWHERE. WE HAVE NO LUGGAGE RACK, NO SUNROOF, NO OBVIOUS SOURCES WHERE A LEAK MIGHT FORM. THE WATER GATHERS IN THE FRONT CEILING-LIGHTS AND DRIPS ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S LEGS. WATER BUILDS UP IN THE CEILING FOAM AND VISIBLE WATERMARKS FORM ON THE WINDSHIELD SUPPORT ARMS AND NEAR THE SUN-VISORS. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ONLINE, IT APPEARS THIS IS NOT A SINGULAR EVENT BUT RATHER A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THE FORD ESCAPES IN RECENT YEARS. COUNTLESS PEOPLE NOTING THAT THEY TOOK THEIR ESCAPES TO FORD DEALERSHIPS AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE SOURCE OF THE LEAKS. IT HAS BEEN BLAMED ON EVERYTHING FROM EXTREME CONDENSATION LEVELS INSIDE THE CAR TO SOME TYPE OF VENT INTO THE CAR BEING BLOCKED AND BUILDING UP EXCESS FLUIDS...NONE OF WHICH MAKES ANY SENSE.
WHILE DRIVING ON 85N IN ATANTA, GA, WHILE ROUGHLY DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 65MPH IN THE MIDDLE LANE AT 7AM ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 12, 2018, THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR SHUT COMPLETELY OFF AND WITH NO WARNING! I TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF THE CAR WITH ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND HAVE APPROXIMATELY 51K MILES ON IT. FOR THIS CAR TO TURN OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF MORNING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON AN ATLANTA MAJOR INTERSTATE, NOT ONLY ENDANGERED MY LIFE BUT THE LIVES OF HUNDREDS OF OTHER DRIVERS! THANKFULLY THERE WAS A GAP IN THE TRAFFIC BEHIND ME SO I WAS ABLE TO GUIDE THE CAR OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE SINCE WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL IN MOVEMENT BUT WITH NO POWER. I BARELY MADE ON TO THE SHOULDER. AFTER SITTING ON THE SHOULDER FOR OVER 30 MINS, WAITING ON A TOW TRUCK, THE CAR FINALLY STARTED BACK UP. I STILL HAD IT TOWED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND HAVE MY MAINTENANCE DONE ON THE CAR. AFTER HAVING THE CAR FOR 3 DAYS I WAS TOLD THAT THEY CAN NOT "DUPLICATE THE ERROR". DIAGNOSTICS WERE RUN ON THE CAR MULTIPLE TIMES AND NO ISSUES WERE FOUND. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. IT IS NOT NORMAL FOR A CAR TO TURN OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAJOR INTERSTATE AND FOR THE CARS COMPUTER TO NOT HAVE A RECORD OF THE SHUT DOWN. IN ADDITION TO THAT, WHAT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN BUT I AM INJURED OR INJURE SOMEONE ELSE! I'VE LOOKED AT OTHER COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE AND OTHER MOTORISTS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME TYPE OF PROBLEM; THE CAR TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING. SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THE 2016 FORD ESCAPE AND FORD ISN'T PROPERLY ADDRESSING THE PROBLEMS!
REAR END KNOCKING SOUND AFTER AND DURING BACKING UP, ALSO DURING LOW SPEED. THE ELECTRONIC RADIO, SYNC3, AUDIO SCREEN WILL NOT TURN ON IN MILDLY COLD TEMPERATURES (20F DEGREES).
DRIVING INTO PARKING LOT TO PARK AND THE CAR ACCELERATED JUMP 2 CURBS AND HIT A PARKED VEHICLE. I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE FLOORED THE PEDAL FOR THAT TO HAPPEN. I THINK SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONED. I DID SEE ANOTHER SIMILAR REPORT DATED OCTOBER OF 2017 OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING AND FORD HAD A RECENT PAST OF ACCELERATION PROBLEMS. SO I'M WONDERING IF IT IS A MALFUNCTION OF THE CAR
CAR WAS PARKED OUTSIDE ON A VERY COLD DAY. CAME OUTSIDE TO FIND THAT THE REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THIS CAR WAS TAKEN TO A WINDOW SERVICE EARLIER IN THE FALL FOR A MINOR MAINTENANCE ISSUE AS WAS TOLD BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT THIS WAS A REPLACEMENT WINDOW. I AM ONLY REPORTING THIS IN THAT THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY A 2016, YET THE REAR WINDOW HAS BROKEN OUT 2X SINCE ITS TIME ON THE ROAD. IN DOING SOME RESEARCH, THERE HAS BEEN PAST REPORTS OF THE FORD ESCAPE REAR WINDOW BREAKING OUT FOR NO APPARENT REASON.
3 TIMES THIS LAST THREE DAYS I'VE GOTTEN A STEERING ASSIST FAULT AFTER STARTING VECHILE.FIRST TIME STEERING WAS DIFFICULT FOR ONLY A VERY SHORT PERIOD.2ND AND 3RD TIMES I HAD TO STOP AND RESTART VECHILE THEN IT WAS OK.ALL THREE TIMES WHERE FROM STARTUP.
I HAD THE VEHICLE PARK AT WORK AND WHEN I START THE CAR THE INFORMATION CENTER FROM THE VEHICLE ANNOUNCED THAT THE POWER STEERING IT NEEDS REPAIR. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 18 MONTHS OLD AND THE POWER STEERING IS GONE.
ON DECEMBER 13, 2017 I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF PARKING IN FRONT OF A PLACE OF BUSINESS, THE BUSINESS WAS IN A PUBLIC PARKING LOT AND I WAS GOING AT MOST 25 MPH BEFORE STARTING TO PARK. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND WAS 1/4-1/2 WAY IN THE PARKING PLACE WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, THE CAR WENT THRU THE PLATE GLASS WINDOW, THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS HURT! THE POLICE WERE CALLED AND AS I WAS THE ONLY VEHICLE I WAS FOUND AT FAULT, CAUSE 'EXCESSIVE SPEED'. THE CAR ACCELERATED SO FAST I DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE TO REACT. THE TIRES DID NOT TOUCH THE CURB AND SEEMED TO FLY THRU THE AIR. MY VEHICLE WAS TOTALED DUE TO THE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END AND FRAME. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ IT APPEARS TO BE A THROTTLE ISSUE - STUCK OPEN. I DO HAVE A POLICE REPORT IF NEEDED BUT IT ONLY SAYS I WAS AT FAULT, EXCESSIVE SPEED AND THAT THE BUILDING WAS DAMAGED.
I WAS WAITING FOR THE RED LIGHT IN THE ROAD. AFTER THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL, HOWEVER, THE CAR DIDN'T MOVE AT ALL. IT STOPPED THERE. I HAD TO RESTART THE CAR TO MAKE IT MOVE AGAIN. IT HAPPENED ON 2017 SEP, 11/29/2017 AND 11/30/2017. THREE TIMES ALREADY.
2ND REFERENCE TO 11032043, ROBERTS FORD COULD NOT FIND ANY FAULTS IN THE ECU, ONLY SHOWED A SENSOR ERROR. WAS DRIVING THE SUV ON 10/15/17 AT 1215HRS WHEN I TURNED A 22 DEG TURN AT 15MPH AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, WENT THOUGH A DITCH, MISSED A TREE AND FINALLY STOPPED 7 FT FROM SOMEONE'S HOME. #FORDMOTORS NOT VERY HAPPY, 25 YEARS OF FORD PRODUCTS AND ALL I GET IS, WE WILL LOOK INTO IT. OH, WOKE UP THIS MORNING, TURNED THE CAR ON, GUESS WHAT, NO POWER STEERING.
IN THE LAST MONTH I HAVE HAD A FAULT CODE, STEERING ASSIST FAILURE. 4 TIMES IN MY DRIVEWAY UPON START UP, ALMOST DROVE OFF DRIVEWAY DOWN 20 FOOT CREEK. ONE OF THEM WHILE TRAVELING FROM A 55MPH STATE ROUTE TRYING TO TURN RIGHT, SLOWED TO BELOW 20 MPH AND TRIED TO TURN WHEEL. THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT TURN, I TRAVELED ACROSS TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC AND ONTO A GRAVEL ENTRANCE FOR TRACTORS INTO THE FIELD. I HAD TO LOCK THE BRAKES UP AND SLID INTO THE CORN FIELD. ONCE STOPPED, I TURNED THE ESCAPE OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR 10 MINUTES, RESTARTED THE ESCAPE AND BACKED OUT ONTO THE ROAD SAFELY. I AM AT ROBERTS FORD IN ALTON, IL. THE CODE IS NOT SHOWING, (SO SAYS THE SERVICE WRITER, SO FORD IS NOT WILLING TO REPAIR. THE DATE BELOW IS THE LAST TIME IN WHICH THIS HAS HAPPEN. SAFETY BEFORE PRODUCTION, MUST BE THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT MY FAMILY OR THE PUBLIC. TIME FOR SOCIAL MEDIA.
IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE. THE ENGINE DOES NOT TURN ON WHEN IGNITION SWITCH PRESSED. TOOK THE CAR TO FORD DEALER TO FIX AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND STATED THERE IS NO FIX AT THIS TIME. TO GO HOME AND WAIT TO RECEIVE A LETTER ONCE THEY HAVE A FIX TO THE PROBLEM. IN THE MEANTIME, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!

SAFETY HAZARD AND SERIOUS LIFE THREATENING SITUATION EXISTS WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURS ON THE HIGHWAY AND ESPECIALLY IN FRONT OF A SEMI TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCK DOING THE SPEED LIMIT. NUMEROUS TIMES, (12 TIMES BETWEEN 14,000 AND 15,363 MILES) THE 2016 FORD ESCAPE HAS HAD COMPLETE POWER LOSS DURING ACCELERATION CAUSING VEHICLE TO ABRUPTLY BEGIN SHAKING, LOSE POWER, LOSE STEERING, LOSE BRAKING AND IMMEDIATELY SHUDDER TO A STOP. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, MESSAGE READS: ENGINE FAULT SERVICE NOW. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTO) ENGINE REMAINS RUNNING. IF ONE TRIES TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STUMBLE AND WON'T SHIFT FROM LOW GEAR WITHOUT A VERY HARD TORQUING SOUND. THIS FORD ESCAPE BROKE DOWN IN FRONT OF A FORD DEALER AND THE CODE READ BY THIS DEALERS COMPUTER IS P0322-PCM. ACCORDING TO AN INTERNET SEARCH THE P0322 CODE DEFINITION: IF THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) DETECTS AN ERRATIC, INTERRUPTED, OR OTHERWISE UNEXPECTED INPUT SIGNAL FROM THE DISTRIBUTOR OR THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, IT WILL STORE THE P0322 CODE, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL BE TURNED ON. ON THIS VEHICLE THE CODE IS ONLY ACTIVE WHEN THE FAULT OCCURS, AND THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. THE CODES DO NOT STORE IN MEMORY. IGNITION CAN BE SHUT OFF, THE WARNING MESSAGE DISAPPEARS AND MANY TIMES THE CAR IS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AGAIN FOR MILES BEFORE REOCCURRING. THE LEASING DEALER STATES THEY HAVE A PROCESS TO FOLLOW IN ORDER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM OR THEY DO NOTHING. USING MY PRINTOUT FROM ANOTHER DEALER WITH THE CODE IS MEANINGLESS TO THEM, EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT THE CONDITION IS LIFE THREATENING. THEY SAY THAT IF I FEEL THE CONDITION IS LIFE THREATENING THEN DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR. A FORMAL CASE HAS BEEN OPENED WITH FORD CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE, HOWEVER THEY ONLY NOTIFY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM, WHICH HE ALREADY KNOWS.

THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO CONTACT THE LOCAL DEALER DUE TO AN ONGOING STRIKE AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,592.
CONTINENTAL CONTIPROCONTACT TIRES, 235/55R17. CAR CURRENTLY HAS 18,800 MILES OF NORMAL DRIVING AT CONSERVATIVE SPEEDS. TIRE TREAD DEPTH IS NOW 5/32'. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A TIRE RATED AT 60K MILES. FOR NEW CAR PURCHASES, CONTINENTAL HAS NO TREAD WEAR REPLACEMENT POLICY. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND UNACCEPTABLE. IF PURCHASED FOR AFTER-MARKET USE, IT WOULD BE COVERED FOR A PRO-RATA REPLACEMENT. WHY ARE THESE TIRES WEARING OUT SO QUICKLY? CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM ON MY END WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND HAVING CONTINENTAL CONTIPROCONTACT TIRES ON THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE.
DRIVING THIS RENTAL CAR IN ALASKA. ONE DAY PUT ON THE HEATER AND DRIVER DEVELOPED SEVERE HEADACHE, AND PASSENGER FELT VERY SLEEPY. WINDOWS OPENED, BOTH FELT BETTER, AND HEATER TURNED OFF AND NEVER USED AGAIN. NO PROBLEMS AFTERWARD.
2016 FORD ESCAPE WITH 5770 MILES. STARTED CAR AND HAD STEERING ASSIST FAULT. NO POWER STEERING. HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALER. THEY REPLACED THE STEERING UNIT DUE TO A STEERING CONTROL UNIT FAILURE. IF IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AS IT WAS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. REPAIR COVERED BY WARRANTY. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME OF FAILURE.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer for service; however, the mechanic informed the contact that the dealer was unaware of how to fix the vehicle. The contact stated that the rearview camera occasionally displayed an upside-down image while the vehicle was in reverse(R). The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, and the dealer was unaware of how to fix the vehicle. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V695000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

CAR STARTED OK THIRD TIME AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME OK. I READ ERROR CODE OUT. ITS P2111 THIS ERROR IS A COMMON ERROR ON CERTAIN FORDS FROM 2009 ON. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED SOON! WHEN YOUR ENGINE QUITS WITH THIS ERROR YOU HAVE VERY POOR POWER STEERING CONTROL,ETC. PLEASE RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM. CAR WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY WHEN THIS EVENT OCCURRED.
VEHICLE IN MOTION TRAVELING ROUGHLY 50MPH, ON RT. 9 IN NORTH BERWICK MAINE. 100 FT AHEAD A SEPARATE VEHICLE PULLED OUT ACROSS TRAFFIC. I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES BUT WAS UNABLE TO AVOID IMPACT. IMPACT AREA WAS THE FRONT NOSE, NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. ASSUMING BUT UNSURE OF SPEED AT POINT OF IMPACT, MY SEAT BELT WAS ON. THIS IS A COMPANY OWNED FLEET VEHICLE, I AM ONE OWNERS OF THE COMPANY.
3 DAYS IN A ROW, 4/1 - 4/3, I WOULD ENGAGE THE GEAR SHIFT AND THE WHEELS WOULD NOT MOVE. WOULD NOT MOVE IN REVERSE OR DRIVE. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD WAKE UP AND DRIVE NORMALLY.
CONTINUAL GROWLING IN DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL WHILE DRIVING. WOULD GROWL LOUDER AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. HAD IT INSPECTED TODAY AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY CONFIRMED A NON-SERVICEABLE WHEEL BEARING ISSUE IN THE REAR WHEEL. CAR HAS 29,756 MILES AND STARTED AROUND 24000 MILES. I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW.
THE LIFTGATE GOES DOWN ON ITS OWN. THE KEY FOB WAS NOT IN MY HAND NOR IN MY POCKET. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE THE FOOT WAVING OPTION TO OPEN OR CLOSE THE LIFTGATE. I HAVE BEEN HIT ON THE HEAD AND AM CONSIDERING A DOCTOR VISIT.
WHEN SHIFTING FROM EITHER REVERSE TO DRIVE BACKING ONTO A BUSY STATE ROAD JUST OVER A HILL, OR DRIVE TO REVERSE THE CAR SHUTTERS AND STRUGGLES TO POWER FORWARD OR BACKWARDS. AS WELL AS THE RADIO BUTTONS DO NOT WORK 80 PERCENT OF THE TIME, YOU HAVE TO USE THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS TO OPERATE THE RADIO. HORRIBLE WE BOUGHT THE ESCAPE NEW WITH 127 MILES ON IT AND STILL TO THIS DAY HAVEN'T GOTTEN A RECALL ABOUT ANY ISSUES OTHER THAN THE AIRBAG ISSUE. OUR 36 THOUSAND MILE WARRANTY IS ALMOST UP AND DON'T WANT TO GET SLAMMED WITH A BILL FOR TRANSMISSION 200 MILES AFTER THE WARRANTY IS UP.
VEHICLE STATISTICS: STATIONARY, NOT IN MOTION, IN PARKING LOT. FAULT/PROBLEM: UNANTICIPATED, UNINTENTIONAL, ERRATIC AND ERRANT CLOSURE OF AUTOMATIC LIFTGATE. CAUSE OF SAFETY RISK: POORLY POSITIONED/CALIBRATED SENSOR WHICH TRIGGERS AUTOMATIC CLOSURE OF REAR LIFTGATE IN SPITE OF FOLLOWING OWNERS MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS. THIS FEATURE IS ONLY SUPPOSED TO BE ACTIVATED WHEN MAKING A FORWARD AND BACK KICKING MOTION OF THE FOOT UNDER THE REAR BUMPER. SUMMARY: WAS LOADING GROCERIES INTO BACK OF VEHICLE AT LOCAL WAL-MART EVENING OF 03/14/17 APPROX. 6:30 P.M. CST. I HAD LEANED OVER PLACING BAGS INTO CARGO AREA OF VEHICLE, FEET WERE TOGETHER ON GROUND BEHIND REAR BUMPER, I STRAIGHTENED AND SMASHED MY HEAD INTO THE METAL FLAT EDGE OF THE LIFTGATE WHICH WAS COMING DOWN ON IT'S OWN WITHOUT ME PRESSING BUTTONS OR MAKING GESTURE TO INITIATE AUTOCLOSE FEATURE. AUDIBLE NOTICE OF CLOSURE WASN'T HEARD DUE TO AMBIENT NOISE - WIND, ETC (THE NOTICE NOISE IS EXTREMELY QUIET). I HIT THE TAILGATE HARD ENOUGH THAT I NEARLY KNOCKED MYSELF OUT, AND MY WIFE WHO HAD ALREADY GOTTEN INTO THE PASSENGER SEAT FELT THE VEHICLE MOVE AND HEARD A LOUD NOISE FROM MY HEAD MAKING CONTACT WITH THE LIFTGATE. I COLLECTED MYSELF, FINISHED LOADING THE GROCERIES AND WENT HOME. PAIN IN MY HEAD INCREASED, NECK PAIN PRESENTED AND INCREASED IN INTENSITY, NAUSEA AND SENSITIVITY TO LIGHT. WIFE RECOMMENDED AND TRANSPORTED ME TO ER. ER VISIT INITIATED APPROXIMATELY 8:30 P.M. AT TIME OF TRIAGE, I WAS DRY HEAVING AND WAS GIVEN AN ANTI-NAUSEA MEDICATION. THE ER DOCTOR ORDERED A CT OF MY HEAD BASED ON SYMPTOMS PRESENT WHICH CAME BACK OK, BUT IT WAS DETERMINED I RECEIVED A CONCUSSION AND WAS PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS APPROPRIATELY. HEADACHE AND NECK PAIN/STIFFNESS ARE PERSISTENT TODAY 03/15/16. WILL FOLLOW-UP WITH PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN AS INSTRUCTED WITHIN 48-72 HOURS. BEFORE MAKING THIS INFO PUBLIC, PLEASE REMOVE ATTACHMENT.
POWER STEERING GEAR FAILED CAUSING CAR TO LOOSE POWER STEERING. CAR WAS BEING BACKED OUT OF A PARKING SPACE WHEN THIS HAPPENED. PULLED THE CAR OVER. TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED 2 MINUTES. TURNED CAR BACK ON AND POWER STEERING WAS BACK ON. DROVE TO DEALER WITHOUT ANY FURTHER ISSUE. THEY REPLACED STEERING GEAR.
MICHELIN GREEN X 55R17 ALL FOUR TIRES HAD THE BELTS SEPARATE FROM THE RUBBER AT LESS THAN 34,000 MILES. NO CRASH AS IT WAS CAUGHT IN TIME BUT VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. DOT NUMBER IS NOT ENTIRELY LEGIBLE BUT LOOKS LIKE X3 JJ 0J0X 2115. PURCHASE NEW ON A 2016 FORD ESCAPE.
