the service engine light continues to turn on. the timing belt continues to fail and has already been replaced once. the camshaft on both sides have been replaced. the solenoids have also been replaced and the diagnostics codes still pop up (p0022) (p0021) are just some that i can remember. the engine does not have enough power on the driver side and throws the timing belt off which causes the loud rattle coming from the engine. when reaching the speed of 40-45 mph the truck begins to shake. recently in november 2023, when fueling up with gas , the truck began to shake and not respond. when accelerating, the truck takes off very slowly and the gears dont kick in on time. when the gas light comes on , the truck begins to function well. but as soon as i put gas again. it feels like the truck is going to fall apart. the driver door gets stuck when trying to open from the inside. the back door on the left does not open from the outside. the gear handle can be moved up and down while the truck is not turned on. please help!!

The contact stated that while driving at a low rate of speed, the vehicle would independently accelerate upon depression of the accelerator pedal without warning. During a recent failure, the contact crashed into a fence as part of the fence had become wedged underneath the vehicle. After placing the vehicle into park and exiting the vehicle, the wheels continued to move. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. Despite minor soreness to his neck, no medial attention was required. A police report was not filed. Despite the failure, the contact managed to restart the vehicle and safely to his destination. The fence sustained severe damage as a result of the failure. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 220,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH, the contact stated that there were exhaust fumes inside the vehicle. The engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic and confirmed the failure was a defective charcoal canister for the evac system. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however, the part was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
While driving yesterday i heard a pop. The 4th coil pack literally blew out from its spot. I have now had 3 coil packs blow out at random causing the holes that the bolt straps the coil pack to the spark plug to strip out. I have a transmission leak that will not stop and I've taken it in multiple times for repairs and it still is leaking. Since getting this vehicle i noticed at the electrical issue where everything including my headlights will shut off and then pop back on while I'm driving. My seat belt will not open so i can buckle and I'm now getting frustrated because I've spent a lot of money on this only to realize has had the same issue with previous owners and they for some reason were too embarrassed to report it but I'm not and I'm sick of dumping money into this damb thing!

UPON RECEIVING TUNE UP THE SPARK PLUGS BROKE APART.AFTER GETTING THEM OUT CYL#1 WOULD NOT HOLD SPARK PLUG,CAUSED ME TO SPEND MORE MONEY TO GET PROBLEM FIXED.BUT THE SHOPS WILL NOT GUARANTEE THE WORK THAT IS NEEDED.THEY ALL SAID IT WAS A FACTORY ISSUE.THE TRUCK WAS STATIONARY AS WELL.

ADDITIONALLY, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE AND CYLINDER HEAD TEMPERATURE SWITCH BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND CYLINDER HEAD TEMPERATURE SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 245,000.
TRAVELING ON OLD ADOBE RD IN PETALUMA, CA AT APPROX. 25-30 MPH, WENT OVER INCLINE AND SAW TRAFFIC WAS STOPPED. PRESSED HARD ON BRAKE PEDAL AND VEHICLE SLOWED BUT DID NOT STOP. RESULTED IN A 3 CAR ACCIDENT

THE VEHICLE EXPLODED IN OUR DRIVEWAY. IT HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN OR TURNED ON IN ALMOST 2 WEEKS. IT WAS LOCKED. THIS CAUGHT ONE OTHER CAR ON FIRE AND TO EXPLODED AND ANOTHER TO GET BODY MELT DOWN ON ONE SIDE.
THE CAR WILL SOMETIMES NOT START OR WHEN RUNNING THE ENGINE WILL DIE. IT APPEARS NOT TO GET FUEL

THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. ONCE RESTARTED, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO OPERATE NORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER DRIVING 30 MILES DOWN THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 196,997.
MY 2006 FORD EXPEDITION SHUT OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNINGS IN THE MIDST OF ME DRIVING THE TRUCK EVERYTHING SHUTS DOWN IT'S HARD FOR ME TO STEER MY VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES LOCKS UP THIS WAS SO SCARY DRIVING THE EXPRESSWAY AND TRYING TO MANEUVER A STALLED VEHICLE
WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW FREEZING OUTSIDE THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK. THE DOOR OPENS WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE THE VEHICLE AS NEWER (AND UNDER WARRANTY) DEALERS AND FACTORY ARE UNWILLING TO REPAIR THIS AS A GOOD WILL.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE HIGHWAY AND INTO A FIELD WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND ALLOWED TO SLOW DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE "FAIL SAFE MODE" INDICATOR DISPLAYED. HERTRICH FORD IN MILFORD, DELAWARE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE FUEL MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000.
FORD HAD A RECALL FOR BROKEN SPARK PLUGS & A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ON THIS VEHICLE. FORD HAS FAILED TO FULLY COMPENSATE US & TOLD ME HARDLY NO ONE WOULD RECEIVE COMPENSATION. WE REPLACED THE PLUGS WITH FORD APPROVED REVISED PLUGS AT FORD WITH @ 149K MILES ON 11/2015. THE ENGINE CODES OR PROBLEMS WOULD COME UP NOW AND AGAIN & WE HAD IT INTO VARIOUS VENDORS.. 2/ 2017, DRIVING BACK TO WYOMING I CAME UP AN I WAS UNDER LOAD (HAULING A TRAILER) AND THE AUTO ALMOST DID NOT MAKE IT HOME OR UP A GRADE. WE TOOK IT IN TO REPLACE THE COILS. THE VENDOR, MIDWAY MOTORS REPLACED THE COIL & NOTICED THE NEW REVISED FORD APPROVED SPARK PLUG 5 WAS BROKEN, AND PLUG 6 ALSO SHOWED A CODE, (MILEAGE 172627 MILES). THE ENGINE WAS DAMAGED SO WE TRADED THE FORD IN FOR A DODGE. MY POINT FORD HAS NOT FIXED THE ISSUE & IS DECEIVING THE PUBLIC. AND 2ND LAWSUIT CLAIM FORM IS [XXX] . THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT IN LIKE NEW SHAPE PRISTINE. I WAS SAD I HAD TO TRADE IT IN BUT DID NOT FEEL SAFE. I THINK YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW FORD IS PRACTICING AND NOT HANDLING ETHICALLY, LEGALLY, OR PROPERLY; BOTH THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND ALSO THE (REVISED SPARK PLUGS ARE ALSO FAILING). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (KEN GRODY FORD AT 6211 BEACH BLVD, BUENA PARK, CA 90621) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VALVE LASH ADJUSTER AND THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA AND DID NOT OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,464.
WHILE IN TRAFFIC, AT LEAST 100 TIMES IN THE LAST FOUR YEARS (AT VARIABLE SPEEDS FROM 5 TO 65 MPH ON CITY STREETS AND FREEWAYS) MOST RECENTLY TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK, THE RPMS DROP BELOW 500 AND THE VEHICLE DIES AND "ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE" LIGHTS UP ON THE DASH. I HAVE TO EITHER COAST TO PULL OVER OR DEAD STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I HAVE TO TURN THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY OFF (EVEN THOUGH IN FAILSAFE MODE ENGINE IS OFF, THE ELECTRONICS ARE STILL ON) AND THEN RESTART AND THEN IT WILL DRIVE JUST FINE UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN. IT HAPPENS ANYWHERE FROM ONCE EVERY 6 MONTHS TO 6 TIMES IN 1 WEEK. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH IF I DRIVE WITH BOTH FEET IN TRAFFIC AND MAINTAIN ABOUT 800-1000 RMPS AT ALL TIMES IT DOESN'T DO THIS, HOWEVER THIS CANNOT BE DONE ALL THE TIME ESPECIALLY WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE LARGE VEHICLE QUICKLY OR TURNING IN AN INTERSECTION. NOTHING HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY DEALERSHIP AS NO CODES ARE THROWN. I ALSO OWN A OBD2 READER AND NO CODES HAVE EVER LISTED UNLESS ITS TIME TO CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS. SEVERAL DIFFERENT MECHANICS, FORUMS AND BRAINSTORMING HAS NOT FIGURED IT OUT. I HAVE REPLACED MOSTLY EVERYTHING WITH EXCEPTION TO A NEW TRANSMISSION AND COMPUTER. MOSTLY EVERYTHING INCLUDING WIRES AND VACUUM LINES AND GASKETS HAVE BEEN REPLACED DUE TO MAINTENANCE OR REPAIRS FROM EVERYTHING ELSE THAT HAS GONE WRONG WITH IT. I HAVE PUT ABOUT $10K INTO NEW PARTS FOR THIS VEHICLE. I BOUGHT IT WITH 60K MILES ON IT AND IT NOW HAS 117K, ITS A DAILY DRIVER WITH 28 MILES OF TRAVEL 5 DAYS A WEEK. ALSO THE ONLY VEHICLE THAT FITS ALL OF THE CHILDREN FOR SOCCER, TRACK AND VOLLEYBALL TRAVELING TOURNAMENTS/GAMES. LUCKILY IT DOESN'T HAPPEN VERY OFTEN WHEN I'M NOT IN TRAFFIC SO THE KIDS AREN'T USUALLY WITH ME BUT IT IS VERY SCARY NOT TO KNOW IF YOU ARE GOING TO STOP OR IF THE PEOPLE BEHIND YOU ARE GOING TO HIT YOU OR NOT.
ENGINE FAIL SAFE MODE ENGAGES AT VARIOUS AND UNPREDICTABLE SPEEDS AND AT ANY GIVEN TIME. IT HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AND SHOWS NO CODE AFTERWARDS. A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD. I HAVE FOUND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT I CAN FIND NO INDICATION THAT FORD HAS BEEN WILLING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. WHEN ASKED FOR THE DATE THE INCIDENT HAPPENED I AM ENTERING THE DATE OF COMPLAINT BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. NO CODES DOES NOT MEAN THE VEHICLE DOESN'T HAVE ISSUES. FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE....RECALL AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM.

"TAKATA RECALL" THERE IS A LOUD VIBRATION COMING FROM PASSENGER SIDE OF DASHBOARD. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN TO BE INSPECTED AND WAS TOLD THERE IS A LEAK IN MY AIR BAG AND THAT UPON COLLISION THE AIR BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT SEVERAL COMPONENTS IN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 107,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY HYDROPLANED AND CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE WALL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE SPUN AROUND 8-10 TIMES AND CRASHED INTO THE WALL APPROXIMATELY AN ADDITIONAL FIVE TIMES. THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY WENT BACK ONTO THE ROAD FACING ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE TO MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE INJECTORS FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG RELEASED; HOWEVER, THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CHILD IN THE REAR WAS EJECTED FROM THE SAFETY SEAT, THE PASSENGER RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE ARM, BACK, AND NECK AREA, AND THE CONTACT RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE BACK, LEG, PELVIC, WRIST, AND HEAD INJURIES. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: CAS12509910. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
I HAVE A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER 4X2 AND MY PROBLEM STARTED AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2010. IN 2011 I WAS IN TAMPA, FL AFTER GASSING UP I WENT TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN GEAR AND THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER BROKE OFF THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO SARASOTA FORD IN SARASOTA, FL WHERE I LIVE. THAT'S THE FIRST TIME NOW THE SECOND TIME I WAS LEAVING FOR WORK AT 4:30 AM IN NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER OF 2014 I WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND WENT TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN GEAR WHEN THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER BROKE OFF. THE THIRD EVENT HAPPENED ON FRIDAY JULY 8, 2016 AT 4: 28 AM IN MY DRIVEWAY I WAS LEAVING FOR WORK AS I WENT TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN GEAR THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER BROKE OFF. I HAVE HAD TO MISS TWO DAYS OF WORK BY USING PTO/PAID TIME OFF WHICH IS MY VACATION TIME DUE TO THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER CONTINUALLY BREAKING OFF. SARASOTA FORD TOLD ME THAT THE SHIFT LEVER HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED SO THEY HAD TO LOCATE A USED PART FOR THE LAST REPAIR. I HAVE FILED TWO COMPLAINTS WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO WHICH THEY WILL NOT DISCLOSE ANY FINDINGS OR OTHER RELATED COMPLAINTS ONLY THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS. I HAVE HAD SARASOTA FORD CHARGE ME FOR A NEW PART THEN TAKE SOME MONEY OFF AFTER I FOUND OUT IT WAS A USED PART TO WHICH THEY NEVER NOTIFIED OR ASKED ME IF IT WAS OK TO PUT USED PARTS ON MY VEHICLE. THE SALES MANAGER BILL GODFREY LIED TO ME WHEN I ASKED FOR COPIES OF MY PRIOR INVOICES IN REFERENCE TO THIS ONGOING ISSUE. HE STATED THAT THE RECORDS WERE NOT ON SITE WHEN IN FACT THEY WERE AS I BELIEVE ONE OF THE FILE CLERKS ACTUALLY TOLD US THESE RECORDS WHERE ON SITE IN A OFFICE AND SHE SUPPLIED US WITH THE DOCUMENTS.

THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO COAST THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
MY 2006 FORD EXPEDITION'S "ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE" INITIATED AND ALERTED ME WHILE I WAS OPERATING THE VEHICLE, WHICH RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN COMPLETELY AND LOSING ALL POWER. MY MAIN ISSUE/CONCERN WITH THIS IS THAT I LOST STEERING AND A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF BRAKING POWER. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ON A SIDE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER OUT OF HARM'S WAY. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO START A COUPLE OF TRIES LATER, AND I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE INTO A SERVICE SHOP SAFELY, WHICH WAS OVER AN HOUR AWAY. I CANNOT HELP BUT BE GRATEFUL FOR GETTING HOME SAFELY, BUT AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THESE VEHICLES EXPERIENCING SUCH ISSUES AS THEY TRAVERSE MAJOR THOROUGHFARES, ESPECIALLY ON A HIGHWAY TRAVELING AROUND 70MPH. THIS POTENTIALLY POSED VERY IMPACTFUL CONSEQUENCES AND PUTS MYSELF, FRIENDS/FAMILY TRAVELING WITH ME, AND OTHER MOTORISTS.
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH AND ON A CITY STREET AT 40 MPH THE VEHICLE WITHOUT ANY WARNING SHUTS OFF AND GOES INTO ENGINE FAIL SAFE MODE, THE VEHICLE STILL HAS BRAKING AND STEERING AND AFTER TURNING IGNITION KEY TO OFF THEN ON IT RESTARTS AND DRIVES FINE. THIS VEHICLE HAS 120,000 MILES ON IT .

WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH ON 2 LANE ROAD THE TRUCK ACTED AS IF IT HAD RUN OUT OF GAS. I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND COASTED TO A PARKING LOT AT A STORE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. THANKFULLY THERE WAS NOT OPPOSING TRAFFIC OR I WOULD HAVE STOPPED IN MY LANE AND BLOCKED TRAFFIC.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,307.
HAVE HAD AN A/C PROBLEMS OF THE COMPRESSOR GOING OUT 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 AND 2016. A/C MAKES A NOISE IN THE BACK END ON PASSENGER SIDE. THEN IT BLOWS WARM AIR. ONLY TWICE DID IT LEAK CONDENSATION ON THE FLOOR BOARDS. HAVE ONLY HAD 2 OF THE COMPRESSOR REPAIRS UNDER WARRANTY AND THE REST HAVE BEEN OUT OF POCKET AT $800-$1200. I HAVE CALLED FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS; NO HELP. NO RECALLS AND NO TSB'S. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED BY A FORD DEALER SERVICE DEPT. FOR ALL A/C REPAIRS. WHAT IS THE PROBLEMS?
WHILE TAKING MY KIDS TO DAYCARE THE ENGINE FAIL SAFE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. I WAS SITTING AT A LIGHT WAITING TO GO STRAIGHT UNDER A BRIDGE AND AT THIS PARTICULAR LIGHT ONLY ONE LANE CAN GO STRAIGHT SINCE THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND I COULD NOT MOVE THIS CAUSED MAJOR BACKUP. LUCKILY THERE WAS AN EMERGENCY VEHICLE A FEW CARS BEHIND AND HE WAS ABLE TO PUSH ME THROUGH THE LIGHT AND INTO A PARKING LOT. AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF SITTING THERE THE TRUCK STARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO GET THEM TO DAYCARE AND CONTINUE ON TO WORK. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE.
MY VEHICLE HAS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. I HAVE HAD DIAGNOSTIC REPORTS RUN AND THEY DO NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. THE FIRST TIME I WAS GOING 45 MPH AND WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A SONIC. I WAITED ABOUT 15 MINUTES AND THE CAR STARTED BACK UP. THE SECOND TIME WAS AT A GAS STATION AND MY CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD A DIAGNOSTIC RUN AND WAS TOLD IT WAS MY BATTERY. I REPLACED THE BATTERY AND MY VEHICLE DIED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY, BUT STARTED BACK UP ONE I LET IT SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES. THIS MORNING I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT AT WORK AND IT DIED. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES IT STARTED BACK UP AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPOT. I WENT TO LEAVE FOR LUNCH AND NOW MY VEHICLE WILL NOT START AT ALL. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE IF I WERE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND THE CAR SHUT OFF ON ME LIKE IT HAS DONE OTHER TIMES. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN AND THE THOUGHT OF THEM IN THIS CAR DOES NOT MAKE ME FEEL SAFE!!
AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MILES AN HOUR THERE IS A GRINDING NOISE THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION. IF I SPEED UP IT GOES AWAY. AFTER DRIVE FOR AWHILE THE OVERDIVE LIGHT STARTS TO BLINK. IF I TURN OFF THE ENGINE THE LIGHT STOPS BLINKING. THE CAR PERFORMS MUCH BETTER WITH THE OVERDIVE OFF. HAD THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT AND IT DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE TRANSMISSION SHOP SAYS THE PROBLEM IS NOT IN THE TRANSMISSUON ITSELF. FORD DEALER RECOMMENDED CHANGING THE TROTTLE SENSON, $100 LATER THAT DIDN'T WORK. MECHANICS IN TOWN CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. IT SOUNDS LIKE 2 GEARS TRYING TO ENGAGE, THUS THE GRINDING NOISE. WHEN I DRIVE WITH THE OVERDRIVE OFF IT HAPPENS AT A HIGHER SPEED. ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVI G UP A LONG INCLINE. GOING CRAZY WITH THIS PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH WHEN MY ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. THERE WAS A BEEP AND A LIGHT CAME ON THAT SAID "ENGINER FAIL SAFE MODE". THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, BUT LUCKILY I STILL HAD FULL MOVEMENT OF MY STEERING WHEEL SO I WAS ABLE TO CHANGE LANES AND GET OFF TO THE SHOULDER. I PANICKED FOR A MOMENT, BUT STARTED THE CAR AND IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP. I ATTEMPTED MY DRIVE TO WORK AND MADE IT THERE. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE PROBLEM, BUT I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE. ESPECIALLY WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE AND MY HUSBAND IS OUT OF TOWN FOR WORK. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED.

IT TAKES FOREVER TO DRIBBLE GAS INTO THE TANK AT THE FILLING STATION; THE BACK PRESSURE IN THE FILLER PIPE CUTS OUT THE PUMP SO BAD IT TAKES OVER 20 MINUTES TO FILL THE LARGE TANK; THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE IN BAD WEATHER AND MORE THAN ANNOYING ON A TIGHT SCHEDULE AS IT ENCOURAGES SPEEDING TO MAKE UP FOR LOST TIME!

MY 2006 FORD EXPEDITION WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AT 7:00 AM WHEN I HEARD A CRASH. I LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW TO SEE THE BACK LIFT GATE GLASS HAD EXPLODED, ALL ELSE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WAS QUIET AT THAT HOUR. AS FAR AS I CAN TELL NO IMPACT FROM AN EXTERNAL SOURCE, IT WAS BACKED IN CLOSE TO A BOAT. I HAD DRIVEN THE VEHICLE TWO DAYS PRIOR AND HAD NOTICED NO PROBLEM WITH THE REAR WINDOW. WHEN I CLEANED UP THE MESS I FOUND A GOOD AMOUNT OF THE SMALL GLASS PIECES WERE INSIDE THE VEHICLE, THE REMAINDER WERE ON THE GROUND BEHIND THE VEHICLE WITHIN TEN FEET OR SO. THE LARGEST PIECES OF GLASS WERE SMALLER THAN MY PALM.
